Chapter 7 By The End of The Night
(Scene 1: The next day Lucky knocks on Willow's door. Willow reluctantly opens it. She is in her robe.)
Lucky: Can I come in?
Willow: If you're just going to badger me Lucky I would rather you not.
Lucky: (Lucky walks in.) Fine, then I won't bagger you. (Willow shuts the door and turns around to face Lucky)
Willow: What do you want Lucky?
Lucky: I want the truth. Willow, this doesn't have to as hard as you're making it out to be.
Willow: Yes, yes it does Lucky, I can't tell you the truth.
Lucky: Willow, not only are you a friend of mine. Gia, is my brother's life. He loves her and I don't want anything happening to her. Willow if you know something or if you're hiding something that has the potential to hurt her, I just, I want to know.
Willow: Right, because it's always about Gia. No one wants to hurt her.
Lucky: No, OK, this is not about Gia. I came here on the behalf of my brother, who needs her in his life.
Willow: What I know won't change that OK. What I know will have no affect, what so ever on your brother.
Lucky: And how do I know that. I mean you lied to both my brother and myself. How do I know that this secret, whatever it maybe won't hurt them both?
Willow: Trust me!
Lucky: Trust you! How can I trust you, when you won't even tell me the truth?
Willow: (She starts crying) You want the truth?
Lucky: Yes, I do.
Willow: Fine, I'll give you so much truth you won't be able to handle it.
(Scene 2: Nikolas comes upstairs with breakfast for Gia, who is still asleep. He wakes her with a kiss.)
Nik: Birthday girl. (He whispers)
Gia: Nikolas, (She stretches) Hey.
Nik: I made you something.
Gia: What? (She opens her eyes.)
Nik: Breakfast in bed, for my queen, on this her birthday. (Gia sits up)
Gia: (She smiles)This looks wonderful. You did all of this by yourself?
Nik: Of course. (He kisses her neck)
Gia: (Gia looks at Nikolas and then at the floor.) Are you sure? I mean this looks like it would have took you a while to prepare.
Nik: Gia I did it all by myself. Yes, it took a while, but I would swim oceans for you. So, why do you ask?
Gia: Well, the receipt on the floor contradicts your story. (Nik picks it up and puts it in his pocket.)
Nik: OK, this also proves I would drive miles for you. (Gia laughs.) Hey, I woke up early, drove to Kelly's and rewarmed it that has to count for something.
Gia: It does, it means you care. Thank you. (She kisses him) This looks wonderful.
Nik: Oh, wait before you eat. (He takes out some candles from his pocket and a lighter.) We can't have Kelly's classic birthday pancakes without a candle. (He puts the candle on her pancake and lights it.)
Gia: Are you kidding?
Nik: No, go ahead. You might want to blow it out before you have wax syrup instead of maple.
Gia: (She blows out the candle.)
Nik: Did you make a wish?
Gia: Yes.
Nik: What was it?
Gia: If I tell you it wouldn't come true and there is no way I want that to happen. (She smiles.) I love you Nikolas.
Nik: I love you too. (He kisses her forehead, then gets up to leave)
Gia: Hey, where are you going?
Nik: I'm going to get my breakfast. Unless you want me picking at your plate.
Gia: Go, please, this looks to good to share.
Nik: I'll be right back. (Nik smiles and then leaves)
Gia: (She smiles to herself) Today is really going to be a good day.
(Scene 3: Lucky and Willow are still talking)
Lucky: (He passes her a tissue). Willow I didn't want you to cry, I just, I care. I want you to know you can tell me anything. You don't have to lie or cover up things.
Willow: At the time I thought I had to. The fact is I'm a liar, Lucky.
Lucky: You're not a liar.
Willow: I am Lucky. If I was completely honest with you, I would have told you. My name isn't Willow Lysher, it's Willow Campbell. I didn't come to Port Charles for no reason. I came for revenge. And last, but not least I was going to ruin Gia's life, with what I knew. I was going to hurt her so bad, but I didn't.
Lucky: Willow. (Lucky wipes her few remaining tears)
Willow: I'm surprised you're not gone by now. That's what every guy in my life has ever done, including my father, Harold Campbell.
Lucky: I'm not going anywhere. (He hugs her) Willow, does this mean what I think it means?
Willow: What do you think it means?
Lucky: Are you Gia's sister? I mean Harold Campbell that's Gia's father.
Willow: It would appear that way wouldn't it. (Willow stands up and walks towards her mirror.)
Lucky: (Lucky comes behind her and looks in the mirror at Willow's face. The tears are still streaming down her face. This time she wipes them.) What do you mean it would appear that way? (Willow turns around and looks him in the eye)
Willow: I mean, Lucky, sometimes the obvious answer, the thing staring you in the face, isn't always the correct answer nor is it what it seems to be. Listen I really have to get dressed so. If you could give me some time. (Willow opens her door)
Lucky: But, I still don't understand.
Willow: I figured you wouldn't. Trust me, by the time this night is over, everything will become quite clear. (Lucky walks out. He turns back around to speak to Willow, but the door is already shut.)
