Everyone Makes Mistakes: 1

Gia sat at the kitchen table, drinking her nightly coffee, when the phone rang. Gia answered it and took the message, then returned to her coffee when the doorbell rang. She slowly got up and padded through the front room to the door. She swung it open and was greeted by Liz. She threw her arms around Gia, and stepped through the doorway of the cottage.

"Hey G!" Liz said. "You weren't sleeping were you?"

"Oh, no." Gia replied, with a shake of her head. "I was up, come on, take of your coat, I was just having some coffee."

"Alright." Liz agreed, whipping off her coat as she made her way to the kitchen. She took a seat at the table and saw the notepad which had the message Gia had taken for Nikolas. "Gia, you're taking messages for this now?"

"Huh?" she asked, confusion clouding her eyes, "Taking messages for what?"

"For Coral and Nik's meetings" Liz said, as she raised an eyebrow. "I've never heard of the girlfriend taking messages for the boyfriend to meet with his other woman."

"Other woman?!" Gia cried, dropping her coffee cup. "Coral is not the other woman! I am the only woman!"

"Gia, honey." Liz said, while helping her wipe up the spilled coffee. "I thought you knew, everyone else in this town knows."

Gia felt dizzy as she sat down on the cold floor. "NO...I...I didn't know...I."

"It's okay sweetie, just relax, I'll get you some water." Liz said, helped Gia onto her feet, then sitting her down on a chair.

"No" Gia replied, standing up from the chair she was just put in. "I can't stay in here, I have to go out."

Gia raced to the door, grabbed her coat, and disappeared through the cottage door.

~*~L&B~*~

Gia stormed through the door of L&B, and ran right into Coral.

"What are you doing here, huh Coral?!" Gia interrogated her.

"I...Gia, what's wrong?" she asked.

"Just answer the question!" Gia demanded.

"My father had a heart attack last this morning Gia." she answered solemnly.

Gia felt a stab of guilt, but it slowly passed when she saw Nikolas walk out of the backroom with a smear of red lipstick across his lips.

Gia pushed past Coral and stalked over to Nikolas. "How did you do it Nikolas, how?"

By this time Coral had already left L&B, knowing what was going to happen, and not really feeling like getting beat up by Gia.

"Do what Gia?" Nik asked, now backed up against the wall, as Gia took steps closer, pushing him along as she walked.

"How could you come home to me every night, how could you sleep with me every night, knowing that merely hours before, you were in bed with another woman?!"

"Gia..." Nik began, he went to take her arm, but she jerked away. "Gia, we had a relationship once. Past tense."

"God, you really think I'm stupid don't you?!" Gia yelled.

Nik looked dumbfounded, so Gia grabbed a mirror that was sitting on the table, and shoved it in front of him. He saw the lipstick and hastily wiped it from his face.

"Gia, I--"

"You what Nikolas?" Gia screamed.

"Gia, you and I are together. She came here tonight because of her father. She needed comfort, and it just got a little carried away that's all." Nik explained with savage restraint, his fingers gripping the soft flesh of her arm.

"Tell me you feel nothing for her. Tell me." she insisted hotly.

Nik lowered his head, and Gia knew that he couldn't say it.

"This is great, just great!" Gia yelled.

"Gia, I love you!" Nik said, putting his arm around her waist. But Gia snapped away and stormed to towards the door.

"Gia!" Nik screamed after her.

Gia paused in the doorway, then turned back to Nik. "When you can honestly tell me that you feel nothing for her. When you can honestly tell me that you aren't seeing her, then I'll come back to you."

~*~Jake's ~*~

Gia walked into Jake's and spotted Lucky sitting at the bar. She walked over and sat next to him.

"Hey Lucky." she said. "This seat taken?"

"No, I just found out Liz was cheating on me with Jason, so I'm kinda drunk." Lucky informed her. "So, if you don't want to sit with me, I understand"

"Oh...no." she told Lucky. "I just found out Nik was cheating on me with Coral, so I'm going to get drunk with you. Is that alright?"

"Go for it." he said. "Isn't Coral that girl he's working' with at N&C?"

"L&B." she corrected. "And yes it is. But they're obviously doing more than working."

~*~1/2 Hour Later~*~

Gia was laughing hysterically for no good reason, and Lucky was doing the same.

"I don't even know why I care about Vik and Shoral." she cried. "They can do whatever they want!!!"

Lucky started to laugh even harder. "No Gia!! It's not Vik and Shoral. It's Mik, and Toral!!!"

"Oh...." Gia paused for a minute. "OK."

Lucky looked up at Gia for a minute before speaking. "Gia, I have to tell you to something....I love you. I've been in love with you since you came here."

"You've been in love with me since I came to the bar??" Gia asked, confused. "I thought it took longer than that...."

Lucky broke into another fit of laughter. "No, silly!! Since you came to Port Charles!"

"What's Fort Carles??" Gia asked.

"Oh Gia, it doesn't matter. What matters is that I love you!"

"Okay. If you say so." Gia replied. "I'm bored, what'd ya wanna do?" she asked.

"I have an idea." Lucky replied. He held out he arm, slightly lopsided as he struggled to stay standing. "Let's go."

"Ok." Gia agreed, taking hold of his arm and nearly toppling over when Lucky lost his balance. The two dragged their drunken-selves out of Luke's and headed down the street.

Everyone Makes Mistakes: 2

Gia awoke the next morning in an unfamiliar place. She rolled over a felt a body beside her. Someone was pounding on her head. She pried her eyes open and was immediately sorry that she'd done so. The throbbing increased. She reached her hand over and felt the body, shaking it to wake whoever it was up. She heard a groan and knew that she had succeeded.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I'm Lucky." he responded. "Who are you?"

"Oh my god, Lucky!" she shrieked, shooting up in bed. A big mistake. The excruciating pain hammering away her temples increased, a thought Gia had considered impossible until now.

"GIA!" he screamed. "Oh, god. Do you remember what happened last night?"

"I was hoping you would." she cried, falling back onto the bed sobbing.

"Well, considering we're both naked, I would think that we slept together." Lucky observed.

"I figured that much." Gia bobbed her head, another mistake. She winced at the pain, but continued talking anyways, "Now we just need to figure out what else we did."

What neither of them saw was the white slip of paper sitting on the floor...

~*~The Cottage~*~

"Oh god, Elizabeth!" Nik screamed. "I was ending it with Coral, why'd you have to tell Gia?!"

"Whoa!" Liz said, "Calm down. I just came in the kitchen and saw that Gia had taken a message for you, from Coral. I didn't mean to say it, it just slipped out."

"Well, she walked in to L&B yesterday and Coral was there." Nik informed her.

"I thought you just said you were ending it with her." Liz said patiently.

"I was, but Coral came in and she was upset about her father, and I was about to break it off with her when she kissed me." Nik explained. "I told her I loved Gia and that me and her couldn't be together anymore, so she got mad and stormed off. And that's when Gia walked in. She saw the lipstick on my face and freaked!"

"Oh, Nikolas." Liz said, "I'm so sorry."

"I don't want your apologies right now Liz, I want Gia."

"Well," Liz said, "I called the Brownstone, she didn't go to her mother's. I called The Port Charles Hotel, and she's not there, so the only place left to check is Kelly's."

"Okay." Nik nodded. "Let's go."

Everyone Makes Mistakes: 3

Lucky and Gia sat at the breakfast bar in Kelly's, desperately trying to remember what had happened the previous night. They knew they slept together and that was it. They were eating breakfast when Liz and Nik burst through the door.

"Oh, Gia!" Nik cried, rushing over to her and gathering her in his arms. "Gia, I was breaking it off with Coral I swear I was!"

Gia was closing her eyes, trying to make the construction workers in her head stop the banging. She only caught the last few words of what Nik said, and had to ask him to repeat it.

"I was breaking it off with her Gia." Nik repeated, narrowing his eyes at Gia's behavior. "Gia, what's wrong? Are you not feeling well?"

That was one way of putting it. But Gia just shook her head and put on a smile. She believed that Nik was going to break it off with Coral, she just let herself believe the worst when she saw them at L&B. Nik and Liz sat down and he explained everything to Gia. He explained that he was going to break it off with her, when she kissed and him and ran out when he said it was over.

"Nikolas," Gia began, "You have to understand that you cheated on me. I believe you and I will come back to you, but you have to know that I haven't forgiven you. It killed me Nikolas, when I found out that you were with her, and it's going to take a while before I can trust you again."

Nik nodded. "I know Gia, I know I made some stupid mistakes. And I know that It's going to take some time to get back what we had. But, as long as I have a chance to make things right, I'll prove to you that I love you and no one else."

Gia threw her arms around his neck and when she did so, Lucky saw a flash of gold on her left hand....
