Chapter 2: Suspect Number One

(Scene 1: Gia is sitting down at one of Kelly's tables. She can hear the
police sirens and the foot steps of all the police men in Elizabeth's room.
Nikolas comes over to her and sits down he slides a glass of water over to
her. She takes a sip.)

Nik: How are you doing? Are you feeling a little bit better?

Gia: Yeah, how about you?

Nik: I'm trying to keep it together.

Gia: There was so much blood Nikolas, there was so much blood.

Nik: But there wasn't a body Gia, that means there's a good chance Elizabeth
is still out there. I'm not giving up. I'm not grieving until I know I have
something to grieve for.

Gia: Nikolas do you realize what this could mean? (She starts to tear up.)
None of us are safe, we're all moving targets. I know the police thinks this
is just some psycho that by some twist of fate choose Elizabeth as his
victim, but I can't believe this just happened.

Nik: You and me both.

Gia: Only one person pops to mind when you think about someone doing such an
evil thing.

Nik: Helena.

Gia: Yeah, How do you stay so strong? Through all of this you've been
comforting me.

Nik: I guess I'm still in shock. It hasn't reached my mind yet that there
could be something terribly wrong. I keep thinking about Lucky and the fire
and it's hard for me to see the reality in this situation.

Gia: Elizabeth is a survivor and you're right. Stranger things have happened
in this town. Elizabeth, could still be out there. Don't worry we're going to
find her, the police is going to find her, someone is going to find her. (She
puts her hand on Nikolas'. He holds on to it tight. Gia realized at that
moment that it was starting to sink in. That reality was taking it's toll.
Laura walks in.)

Laura: Gia, Elton told me that you were crying on the phone are you OK? And
why are there a dozen police cars out there? You would think there was a
crime scene in here. (Gia and Nikolas look at each other.)

Nik: There is.

Laura: What?

Nik: Gia, went to go see if Elizabeth was in her room and she wasn't there,
but.

Laura: But what Nikolas?

Nik: Her clothes we scattered all over the floor. Her door was kicked in and
there was glass. One piece in particular that had a lot of blood on it and
there's a lot of blood in her room, on her walls on the floor, on her bed.

Laura: Please say you're not saying what I think you're saying, Nikolas.

Nik: I don't know. Gia and I are still waiting for the police to fill us in.
Laura: Oh, this, this is terrible. (Laura sits down. Taggert comes down
stairs. Gia stands up.)

Gia: Marcus, did you find any leads?

Taggert: Gia, Nikolas, Mrs. Spencer. There was a large amount of blood which
we're getting check out right now. There were signs of a struggle, and a
break in, but there was one very strange piece of information. We asked a
tenant about what they heard last night. One person said they heard the
kicking in of the door, and nothing after that. Another person says they
heard thumping noises around One o clock in the mourning and then again, at
two thirty, but between these time laps they say it was silent.

Laura: Wait, that makes no sense, why wouldn't she scream? Unless they
knocked her out before she could.

Gia: Or it was someone she knew.

Nik: No if it was some one she knew the door wouldn't have been kicked in.
(Gia slightly rolls her eyes and lets out an upset breathe.)

Taggert: We need to id some prints we have, and the blood type. After that,
most likely we will have more information.Laura: And when will we get this
information?

Taggert: I'll tell you what, I will call you personally, as soon as I hear
anything.

Laura: Thank you Taggert.

Taggert: You're Welcome. Good bye Mrs. Spencer, Nikolas. Good Bye Gia. (He
taps the top of her head. He steps outside of Kelly's.)

Gia: Wait. (Gia follows him outside.) Marcus, listen to me, I don't ask you
for much, but I'm begging you, you have to find Elizabeth. There are a lot of
people who are truly going to be effected by this and believe it or not I'm
one of them.

Taggert: Gia, we will find who ever did this.

Gia: Really then why do you have that hopeless look in your eye? Marcus, I
just I have this feeling that there's something everyone is missing. Some
clue that everyone has passed by.

Taggert: Like what? Gia: I don't know, but I have a few ideas.

Taggert: Listen Gia, if there is anything in that room to help us find
Elizabeth, we will find it. We have the best men on this case.

Gia: Yeah, well some times the best men aren't good enough.

Taggert: Gia don't worry.Gia: I'm not, because some time the best women is.
(She smirks.)Taggert: Don't get into, to much trouble. (He hugs her.)

Gia: I won't get into trouble. (He walks away, she murmurs to herself.) At
least not to much.

(Scene 2: A few hours later. Laura and Luke are at Laura's house trying to
find Lucky. When Nikolas comes in.)

Laura: Thanks for coming.

Nik: Has Taggert called?

Laura: No. Nik: What about Lucky?

Laura: No.

Luke: I think I know where Lucky is?

Laura: Where?

Luke: If my feeling about this entire situation is right where you find
Lucky, we'll find Elizabeth and where we find them, we'll find Helena.

Laura: Luke, this might not have a thing to do with Helena.

Luke: Laura, come on. Most likely this has everything to do with Helena and
you know it, and so does the Cassidine formerly known as Prince over
there.Laura: Is that true?

Nik: We'll, Gia was talking about believing it's Helena. I guess we can never
rule her out as a possibility.

Luke: For once I truly agree with him. (Luke gets up, and puts on his jacket.
Laura and Nik stand up.)

Laura: Luke where are you going?

Luke: I'm going to find Queen of the damned and get some real answers. (Luke
walks out, Laura and Nik go after him. Laura and Nik stop at the front door
and watch him.)

Laura: Luke, no, Luke no. I'm following him, he can't do this? Nik: Wait,
wait Mom. I think Luke is on to something.

(Scene 3: It's late at night. Liz's door is opened. Gia is wearing all black.
She looks at the room and closes the door, but leaves it cracked so some
light can shine in. She bends down and look under the bed and picks up a
picture frame and then puts it back under the bed. She looks through her
closet. Then she goes over to Liz's dresser and opens all the drawers. Gia
reaches the last drawer and finds a picture of Liz and Lucky. The one that
belonged in the frame. She looks at the back of the picture. The other side
reads California, San Mon. )

Gia: Bingo, I knew it.

(Scene 4: Lucky is wearing a gray tee shirt and gray sweat pants. He is
carrying a bottled water. He walks into a dark room. He sits on a bed and
stares down at Elizabeth.)

Lucky: You look so peaceful. I wish I could look into those eyes, but I
can't. I'm sorry, but I must protect my queen. (He caresses her face and
kisses her lips.) Don't worry, we will be leaving soon. I love you so much
Elizabeth and I can't live without you. (He puts the bottled water on the
dresser and leaves the room. With the closing of the door Elizabeth's eye
lids began to flicker open. She opens her eyes.)

Liz: He's gone. (She gets up and sees a magazine on a dresser she flips
through the magazine and sees Gia's add. She rips the eyes on the picture and
places it in the bottom dresser. She hears Lucky coming back so she gets back
into bed, and closes her eyes.)

Lucky: Good night Elizabeth, soon you'll wake up and everything will be OK.
(He cuts off the light and closes her door. Elizabeth opens her eyes. She
whispers to herself.)

Liz: Oh, please someone, help me. (A tear rolls down her cheek.)
