Chapter 4: California

(Scene 1: Luke comes into the Police station.  He finds Laura.)

Luke: Hey, what's going on?  I got your call to come here.

Laura: Gia, Nikolas girlfriend got arrested.

Luke: Really, sort of surprising.  Isn't she Taggert's sister.

Laura: Yes. She went into Elizabeth's room to search for clues to where
Elizabeth might be.

Luke: Any luck?

Laura: Well, from what Nikolas told me.  She might hold the first clue to
finding Elizabeth and Lucky.

(Scene 2: In the interrogation room.  Nikolas walks in with Taggert.)

Gia: Nikolas.

Nik: Gia. (He hugs her.)  Are you OK?

Gia: Yeah.

Taggert: Maybe you can talk some since into her Nikolas.  I never expected
Gia to become a secret agent.

Nik: Trust me, neither did I.

Gia: It's not like I planned it.

Taggert: Right, I'll get the release forms. (Taggert leaves.)

Nik: OK, Gia what did you find?

Gia: Reach into my jean's back pocket.

Nik: Gia, I really don't think this is the time.

Gia: Funny, ha, ha.  You know what I mean.  The clue is in my back pocket.
(Nikolas reaches into her pocket and take out the picture.)

Nik: Is this all?

Gia:  OK, so this look stupid now, but like they say a picture is worth one
thousand words.  When I walked into the room for the first time and saw all
that glass I wondered where it came from.  Did she have a glass crystal or
something like that?  Well, when I went into the room I looked under her bed
and found the picture frame that goes with the glass.

Nik: OK.

Gia: OK, so I knew if it was a picture frame, there had to be a picture, but
where was it? I looked in her closet and in her drawers and that's where I
found that picture.  Now turn it to the back and read it.

Nik: California, San Mon. What is that?

Gia: I'm guessing someone left us that to find.  I think Elizabeth's in
California.  Something else I notice is that the pencil was lifted up and was
about the mark an i.  Which means who ever wrote that couldn't finish it?  My
brother also said who ever broke in came into her room, left and then came
back. I think Elizabeth wrote that when he left. She's leaving us clues to
find her, Nikolas.  She's asking us to find her.

Nik: What sense does that make, if she was still awake when the guy left her
room, why wouldn't she leave or call for help.

Gia: I'm guessing she didn't want this guy to know she was awake, she's just
going along with it, why, I don't know. I think it was Lucky, but I guess I'm
wrong.   Why would he break down her door, if he has a key?

Nik: Gia, what you've told me does make sense.  I'm going to tell Laura and
Luke to book 3 tickets to go to California.

Gia: Three tickets?

Nik: Yeah, Gia  You don't know how much you'd helped, but I think it would be
better for you to just stay here.

Gia: Better for me.  Nikolas I will be the judge of what's better for me.  I
mean I found the clue.

Nik: And I'm grateful.

Gia: Then why are you doing this Nikolas.  I want to be apart of your family.
 I want to help, please don't shut me out.

Nik: I don't want to shut you out Gia.

Gia: What do you call leaving me here in Port Charles?  While you go on some
wild, crazy, dangerous adventure.

Nik: I call that keeping you safe.

Gia: Me, safe, what about you?  Nikolas I need to go with you, to make sure
you're safe.  I would worry way to much if you left without me.  In fact if
you leave me I'll come after you all by myself, which is much more dangerous
when you think about it. Either you let me go with you or I'll go by myself,
no matter what I'm going and I'm helping.  So what do you say?

Nik: This is going to be one interesting summer.

(Scene 3: Helena comes to Starvos room in General Hospital.)

Starvos: Mother is it time?

Helena: Your patience has paid off my dear Starvos.  I'm taking you home.  

Starvos: What about Nikolas and Laura?

Helena: They will be waiting my dear, along with Luke Spencer.

Starvos: Luke, I despise Luke.  I want him dead.

Helena: Don't worry my dear, your wish will be granted.  In fact you will
watch Luke Spencer get murdered.

Starvos: Shall he die a slow, painful death?

Helena: Yes, my darling.  This summer will be his last. Now I want you to
kidnap this women. (She hands him a picture.)

Starvos: Where would I find her?

Helena: At the cottage where Nikolas lives.  That's his girlfriend.

(Scene 4: Luke and Laura come into the interrogation room.)

Laura: Hello, Gia.

Luke: I heard you found a clue.

Gia: Yes, in fact I did. (Nikolas cuts her off.)

Nik: She found this in Elizabeth's bottom drawer, look on the back.

Laura: California, San Mon.

Nik: Yeah, Gia and I believe who ever wrote that wasn't able to finish the
message.

Luke: Elizabeth wrote that.

Nik: That's what I think.

Luke: I say we take the mourning flight to California.

Nik: My thoughts exactly. (Luke and Laura leave. Nik kisses her on her head.)
I'll be back. (He leaves.)

Gia: (She talks to herself.)  Oh Thank you Gia were so grateful.  Your a
genius.  Oh, really it was nothing.  You're welcome.  Want to come to
California with us? Yeah sure. (She pouts.) Yeah, that would have happened,
in my dreams.
