Chapter 8: Perfect Moves (The Mourning of the War)

(Scene 1: It's the next mourning. Taggert goes to Wyndamere to talk with
Stefan.)

Stefan: Lieutenant.

Taggert: Why are you still here?  Why haven't you found my sister yet?

Stefan: Because that would have been the wrong move.  My mother is all about
making the right moves.  Some moves seem perfect until you realize there's a
better one.  I don't want to move until I have the perfect one.

Taggert: Listen to me, I will arm you with whatever force you need.

Stefan: That's exactly what I wanted to hear.  You see if I go by myself I
would only put a dent in my mother's plan, but if we get her.

Taggert: She could have her own jail cell for life.

Stefan: Now, you see what I mean.  It's not about the correct move, it's
about the perfect one.

(Scene 2: Lucky comes inside Gia's room.  Gia is asleep.)

Lucky: Gia, Gia. (He starts tapping her face.) Wake up Gia.

Gia: Nikolas?

Lucky: No, ok it's Lucky.

Gia: AAHHHHH. (Lucky covers her mouth.)

Lucky: Be quiet Gia, Ok. I'm going to get you out of here.  Nod yes if you
understand. (Gia nods.) Ok. (He removes his hands.)

Gia: You, You.

Lucky: Listen to me.  I don't have enough time to explain OK.  All you need
to know is that I didn't hurt Elizabeth, and if we don't get out of here
we're dead.

Gia: Why should I trust you?

Lucky: Listen it's either me or Helena.

Gia: How do I know I'm not trusting someone who's controlled by Helena?

Lucky: Gia I'm not programmed OK, if I was I wouldn't be trying to save you.
 Now come on.  (Lucky unscrews a vent in the wall.) Ok go ahead.

Gia: After you.

Lucky: Gia will you just go. (She gets in.) Ok keep going straight, and try
not to make a sound.  When Nikolas comes I'll tell him where you are.

Gia: OK.

Lucky: Go, Go. (Lucky rescrews the vent and leaves.)

(Scene 3: Helena and Starvos are talking in a room.  Lucky tries to listen
in.)

Helena: The guards shall take Laura first.  When Luke and Nikolas fail at
their rescue you shall take Nikolas.  We will trap Luke in a cell with Lucky
and when I show Lucky the ice princess we will watch our enemy ripped limb by
limb by his own son.

Starvos: What about the girl?

Helena: Gia, well our noble Nikolas will sign papers to become a Cassidine
again to save her.  When he does we shall dispose of her.

Starvos: No, I say we use her.

Helena: For what?

Starvos: If my son's love for her is so strong, she could prove useful in the
future.

Helena: You make a point Starvos that I shall consider.  They should be
coming anytime now.  I will get Lucky in his place.  Excuse me my darling.
 The clock is ticking and it is rather hard to make up for lost time.

(Scene 4: Liz goes into the police station.)

Liz: I'm looking for Lt. Taggert.

Cop: Haven't seen him.

Liz: Lt. Taggert, where are you?

Cop 2: Hey, you look familiar.

Liz: I'm Elizabeth Webber.

Cop 2: No, way.  The kidnapped girl.

Liz: I wasn't kidnapped or hurt, but a lot of people will be. (The captain
comes out.)

Captain: Elizabeth Webber?

Liz: Yes, I'm fine, but like I was telling him a lot of people aren't.

Captain: Well, what can I do for you?

Liz: I need a favor, a huge favor.
