Not Quite Paradise- 5

There Nikolas stood in front of her, his mouth slightly open and his eyes wandering. Gia was there in front of him, nude, with water dripping off her dark mocha skin. Time seemed to stand still as the two stood, in Gia's bathroom. She watched him study her, but she couldn't move. Her feet were glued to the floor, and his eyes were glued to her. He travelled up and down her body, memorizing every freckle, every beauty mark, everything. When Gia became aware of her nudity, she quickly grabbed her robe and wrapped it around her, her hands trembling the entire time as she fumbled with the strap that tied it together at her waist. She struggled with it for several seconds before Nik stepped forward.

"Here," he said, taking hold of the strap with his hands, as he seductively ran his tongue over his bottom lip, "let me."

Gia's breath quickened as Nik smoothly wrapped the tie in a knot . As much as she wanted to forget this had ever happened, and pull away from him right now, it was what her heart burned for. She dropped her hands to her sides and let him dress her, and her heart was beating so hard she was afraid he could hear it. His hands hovered for several seconds over the tie of her robe and he slipped his finger under it, gently caressing her stomach with the back of his thumb. He used his free hand to pull her head to his and he brushed his lips against hers, gently, softly. He felt her kiss back and he knew she returned his need. He allowed himself to unleash his desire and their kissed deepened as their tongues shared a dance. Gia melted into his arms and wrapped her hands around his neck, relishing in the touch of his lips on hers, his finger under her robe. She blocked out everything around her and focused all her energy on her and Nik, then a picture of Lucky sprang into her mind and she jerked her head back violently, almost falling with the impact of her strength.

"Whoa." Nik steadied her as she regained her balance. "Whoa, Gia what's wrong? What is it?"

"I...I..." Gia took a few deep breaths as she tryed to calm her desire. He was here in front of her, wanting her, needing her as much as she needed him, but she couldn't take the opportunity. She still loved Lucky, and moving on to his brother just wasn't right. "I can't do this." Gia said forcefully, stepped back from him and tightening her robe around her, "I just can't do this."

Nik sighed and put his head in his hands. "Oh god Gia. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get carried away, I shouldn't have done that, I...Simon asked me to read him a story, something about a game of peek-a-boo. I didn't know what he was talking about so I came to ask you, I didn't think I would..."

"It's alright Nikolas. He's talking about his lift the flap book. It's called Tut-Tut, it's on his bookshelf."

"Okay." Nik replied. He stood for a moment, looking at Gia, as she stared back at him, and he was sure they shared the same thought. Of how much they wanted each other, but she needed time. He pressed his mouth together in a tight line and nodded before leaving her bathroom. The second he was gone, Gia rushed over to the sink and splashed cold water on her face. She looked up at her reflection and scolded herself.

"What is wrong with me?"

~*~Nik's Office~*~

Instead of going to Simon's room to get his book, Nik rushed to his office. Gia had no clue what she was doing to him. She arose this desire inside of him, then denied him the permission to let it out...he needed to let it out. He whipped open his desk drawer and tossed things left and right as he searched for his address book. After coming to the conclusion that it wasn't there, he went on to the next drawer and found it sitting on top of a file folder. He pulled it out and started flipping through the pages until he found the number he was looking for. He picked up his phone and punched in the digits. He heard the phone ring and a female's voice answered.

"Hello Victoria?" he asked.

"Speaking. Who is this?" she answered politely.

"This is Nikolas Cassadine, listen I know our break-up wasn't that pretty and I feel awful, I really want to make it up to you. How about you come away with me for a few days...."
