Not Quite Paradise 7-8
Gia sat on the windowsill of her bedroom at Wyndemere, and stared blankly out at the water. Nik was due back today, and part of her was dreading it, while the other part was craving it.
I don't know about the travel of time,
And I've never seen most of the world,
I don't know, diving out of the sky,
Or living like the diamonds of pearls.
She couldn't keep her mind from flashing back to the day he left. She had been trying to deny the attraction, but panicked because, much as she would like to be able to, she couldn't deny the way her body had responded to those wicked come-to-bed eyes. When she had gotten out of the shower, Nik had been there. He had touched her, and from that very moment, she knew that everything between them had changed.

And I haven't noticed the flowers in bloom,
I haven't smiled, when alone in my room very much,
Then we touched.
The single caress of his finger on her stomach, his lips on hers, had an overwhelming effect on her, igniting flames inside of her that threatened to rage out of control.

I feel ready, and I lose my self-control.
The fact that he could do that to her, scared her more than she knew. The only man who had ever possessed the ability to make her forget everything around her had been Lucky, well he had been the only one until now, of course.

And simply open up the depths of my soul.
All of her life, Gia had put a wall around her, keeping anyone and everyone out of her head and her heart. She had thought that if she let no one in, she wouldn't be hurt, but Lucky had eventually made her realize that wasn't true, and the wall had been broken down. After Lucky's death, Gia whipped that wall right back up again, this time sheilding both her and Simon, but somehow, Nik had managed to slide through a crack.
So I keep my wings, and my eyes on the down,
Ready for nothing, but holding my ground,
I haven't used a particular noun very much,
Then we touched.
She had never cared much about him before, but after that day, after they kissed, she knew that she couldn't deny the fire burning within her. The fire that burned for him alone.

She had to protect Simon, at all costs. And Nik could protect them. He could give Simon what he needed, and what Gia needed as well...

She decided that the minute he walked through the door, she would tell him that she was attracted to him, that she wanted him, that she needed him.

Nik sat in the private jet, staring out the window. He would be returning to Wyndemere shortly, and he felt like scum. Here he was, on his way back from taking a vacation with another woman, when he yearned to have Gia.

He didn't know when exactly it happened, but he couldn't deny the feelings any longer. Everything she did, every little movement, every sound, he found made something deep inside him ache for her touch.

Your most innocent kiss, or your sweetest caress,
Seduces me.
He now saw what his deceased brother Lucky saw in her. He saw love, passion, kindness, and a gentle heart that needed to be nurtured and cared for. A task which he planned to execute happily, with all the care and compassion he had in him.
I don't care about tomorrow,
I've given up on yesterday,
Here and now is all that matters,
Right here with you is where I stay.
He used to look at her as a younger sister, now he looked at her as a woman. He saw her beauty, her breathtaking beauty. He had never noticed her in a sexual way before, but after seeing her after she stepped out of the shower, he couldn't seem to look at her in any other way.

And he intended on making his feelings known. Nik knew Gia was still grieving over her husband's death, but after the way she had kissed him back in her bathroom, he knew she had overcame the worst part of the grieving period.
And if I should die tomorrow, I'd go down with a smile of bliss,
I thank God I've ever known you, I'd fall down on my knees,
For the times we've shared a passionate kiss.
He had to admit that he would've never married her, or even taken a second glance at her if it weren't for Lucky making him promise, and for Simon. He loved the kid to death and he would never do anything to ever hurt him, or his mother.

And all that you do...seduces me.
It was cruel to even think, and he would kill himself before he actually meant it, but right now, Nik felt gratefulf or his brother's death...it led him to Gia.
