In the midst of slowly awakening Nik nestles into the warm body enveloped within his arms; his lightly haired leg deftly slipping in between Gia's as he pulls her even closer.  Hmm he couldn't remember the last time he felt this good, smiling he opens his eyes.  Gently tugging at the sheet he exposes more of Gia's exquisite torso.  Leaning to nibble her delectable shoulder he lets out a horrific shriek.

"Oh my God!"

Startled out of a very pleasant and very deep sleep Gia nearly falls out of bed.  Twisting around, clutching the sheet to her chest she glares up at Nik and yells.

"What the hell is your problem?"

"Look at the clock.  It's almost 9:00.  I'm late for work that's my problem. I can't believe you didn't set the alarm."

Rising to her feet, Gia angrily snatches the sheet from the bed in the process leaving Nik on his knees in all his royal glory in the middle of bed, hands on hips.  For a moment Gia loses her train of thought, darn it hadn't been a figment of her imagination Nikolas Cassadine was truly blessed.  Nonchalantly she averts her eyes.

"You're the one who needed it you should have set it yourself.  Better yet you should have just returned to your own room especially considering that my first class isn't until 11:00.  In case you hadn't noticed I enjoy sleeping in."

Jumping out of bed Nik quickly grabs his boxers from amongst the various array of clothing strewn across the room.

"As I recall you never gave me an opportunity to return to my room.  My services were required throughout the night."

Heading for the bathroom Gia stops in her tracks and spins back towards Nik who is busy picking up his pants and shirt.

"I know you're not trying to imply what I think you're trying to imply."

"I'm not implying anything.  The facts speak for themselves.  At times quite loudly I might add.  Um are my socks over there?"

"Socks.  No Prince Charming I don't see your damn socks but I believe this is yours."

Gia, trying to keep herself adequately covered with the sheet, awkwardly flings Nik's Kenneth Cole boot (a budget downgrade) across the room, aiming it directly at his head.  Or so she thought; it weakly falls 10 feet to the right of its intended target.  Nik does his best to maintain his composure but starts laughing, infuriating Gia even further.  In the light of day she can see that last night had clearly been a mistake.

"Get out!  And don't ever think about touching me again!  Never again Nikolas Cassadine!  And just for the record your Royal Highness you are not all that."

Dropping his clothes, Nik dashes across the bed reaching Gia before she makes it to the bathroom.  From behind he wraps his arms around her, huskily sighing her name into her braids.

"Gia."

Gia closes her eyes remembering Nik's passionate, intimate whispers from the night before, an endless litany from his lips to her ear.  Freeing herself she faces him.

"Leave me alone."  Narrowing her eyes she snaps, "Don't you need to call Ned or somebody and explain why you're late?"

"Not until we settle a few things."

"There's nothing to settle.  Oops silly me I forgot you were so busy laughing that you didn't hear what I said.  Read my lips, last night was a "

Placing a finger over Gia's gorgeous lips Nik effectively shuts her up.  He moves closer, looking directly into her eyes.

"Last night was the most wonderful night of my life."

For a moment Gia is silent.  She doesn't know what to think.  He looks so sincere that a part of her wants to believe him but it's been her experience that guys will say anything to get their way.  She swats his finger away.

"Forget it Nikolas.  Like how many times have you used that line?  God how pathetic, you guys will say anything to get some."

Now Nik is hot, he's practically admitted his feelings for her and she all but throws them back into his face.

"Get some!  Get some!  If all I was interested in was getting some as you so eloquently put it, believe me last night would have happened a lot sooner!"

"In your dreams!  I can't believe how arrogant you are but then again you are a spoiled rich boy so I really shouldn't be surprised."  Pushing him out of her way Gia opens the closet and pulls out her suitcases.  "I am so through with you."

"What are you doing?"

"What does it look like I'm doing.  I'm packing.  I'll be out of here by the time you get home.  Have a nice life."

As much as he wants to beg her to stay, Nikolas can't keep giving in to her. It's time to draw the line and let Gia know that she isn't always going to get her way where he's concerned.  Deep down he doesn't believe that she'll be able to just walk away from last night and everything else they've shared over the past few months; at least not for very long.  Nik heads for the door.

"Fine.  Leave the key on the kitchen table.  See you around."

"Not if I see you first."

Gia slams the door behind him.  Well she guess she has her answer, if last night had really been special to Nik then he would have asked her to stay. Sitting on the bed Gia picks up the phone dialing the number to Kelly's.

"Hey Tammy it's Gia.  Listen I need a room, do you think you can hook me up?"
