(Scene left off at the park. Nikolas is at the bench watching Gia as she pushes one of the O’Lear or O’Leary kids on the swings. It is now Friday, Gia’s day off. Also, my Nikolas is Tyler Christopher so he’s more refined and dark. Overall, just delicious!)
Gia has left the O’Lears on her way out for a night of soul repletion. A time where being alone is all the medication and soothing needed to redefine who you are.
**************************
The sun is gone leaving its footprints in the sky. The meek becoming lords of sound, lords of darkness… all its mysteries, the long tales and stories wrapped around the unknown world of nothingness***********
Gia finds herself drawn to the docks. Alone…she thinks. Out of her eyesight Nikolas Cassidine is also in search of his true self, his place in life. He’s all too familiar with that dark place he carries inside of him.
As if sensing an intruder in his marked world of solitude, Nikolas turns… Gia. Because she has yet to see him, he debates whether or not to approach her. She has made it more than clear that she wants no connection with him or his friends. He’s already made his decision; she’ll just have to accept it.
“What are you doing here?”
“Why do you think I’m here?”
“I don’t know, not that I really care either. It may be just something you people like to do in Port Charles… you know hide, lie, and get caught. That sort of thing.”
“Really.”
“You’re not even that good.”
“I surprised you…”
She looks away not strong enough against his gaze.
“You make me smile”, Nikolas almost whispers.
“What… what did you say?”
“You make me smile.”
“Look I don’t have time for this –“
Nikolas stops Gia from leaving the docks by stepping in front of her path. One can’t always find a way of escape, especially when a heart is held captive.
Nikolas puts a firm hand on her arm.
“All I’m saying is that you make me smile… If you want I can take it back.”
Gia finds the nerve to look Nikolas in the eyes.
“Why are you here… I thought we agreed.”
Nikolas is quiet for a moment. He’s thinking about a response, but he doesn’t release her arm, soon it becomes her hand.
“Gia…”
“Nikolas, please, I can’t do this now – not like this.”
The Prince releases the Lady’s hand, but with a warning and a statement to her unspoken plea. When do you let go? Never.
