THE COMMON LANGUAGE OF THE NATIONS IN THE FIRST CENTURY

The Hebrew characters used in the first and second century are as the followings:

Linear writing

Linear 2

Therefore, the following words are not applied to Hebrew, but to the Greek writings:

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

Recent articles in Biblical Archaeology Review attest to this fact. For example, recently even the burial chamber of Caiaphas, the High Priest (see Matt.26:3, 27), during the time of Christ, has been found in Jerusalem, with burial artifacts containing Greek, not Hebrew, letters![/b] The inscriptions on the family ossuaries (receptacles for the bones of the dead) were all in the GREEK LANGUAGE! And, remember, this was the very High Priest who condemned Jesus!
Likewise, ostraca -- fragments, usually of pottery, containing inscriptions -- found in Jerusalem, and other cities of the period, often contain Greek letters and writing, showing the pervasive influence of the Greek language throughout the region. Many scarabs, small ancient seals carved to resemble beetles, also have been found with Greek writing on them

THE SAME NAME IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES

Antiquities of the Jews, Book I, 5, 1. After this they were dispersed abroad, on account of their languages, and went out by colonies every where; and each colony took possession of that land which they light upon, and unto which God led them; so that the whole continent was filled with them, both the inland and the maritime countries. There were some also who passed over the sea in ships, and inhabited the islands: and some of those nations do still retain the denominations which were given them by their first founders; but some have lost them also, and some have only admitted certain changes in them, that they might be the more intelligible to the inhabitants. And they were the Greeks who became the authors of such mutations. For when in after-ages they grew potent, they claimed to themselves the glory of antiquity; giving names to the nations that sounded well (in Greek) that they might be better understood among themselves; and setting agreeable forms of government over them, as if they were a people derived from themselves.
Book 1,6, 1. Now they were the grandchildren of Noah, in honor of whom names were imposed on the nations by those that first seized upon them. Japhet, the son of Noah, had seven sons: they inhabited so, that, beginning at the mountains Taurus and Amanus, they proceeded along Asia, as far as the river Tansis, and along Europe to Cadiz; and settling themselves on the lands which they light upon, which none had inhabited before, they called the nations by their own names. For Gomer founded those whom the Greeks now call Galatians, [Galls,] but were then called Gomerites. Magog founded those that from him were named Magogites, but who are by the Greeks called Scythians. Now as to Javan and Madai, the sons of Japhet; from Madai came the Madeans, who are called Medes, by the Greeks; but from Javan, Ionia, and all the Grecians, are derived. Thobel founded the Thobelites, who are now called Iberes; and the Mosocheni were founded by Mosoch; now they are Cappadocians. There is also a mark of their ancient denomination still to be shown; for there is even now among them a city called Mazaca, which may inform those that are able to understand, that so was the entire nation once called. Thiras also called those whom he ruled over Thirasians; but the Greeks changed the name into Thracians. And so many were the countries that had the children of Japhet for their inhabitants. Of the three sons of Gomer, Aschanax founded the Aschanaxians, who are now called by the Greeks Rheginians. So did Riphath found the Ripheans, now called Paphlagonians; and Thrugramma the Thrugrammeans, who, as the Greeks resolved, were named Phrygians. Of the three sons of Javan also, the son of Japhet, Elisa gave name to the Eliseans, who were his subjects; they are now the Aeolians. Tharsus to the Tharsians, for so was Cilicia of old called; the sign of which is this, that the noblest city they have, and a metropolis also, is Tarsus, the tau being by change put for the theta. Cethimus possessed the island Cethima: it is now called Cyprus; and from that it is that all islands, and the greatest part of the sea-coasts, are named Cethim by the Hebrews: and one city there is in Cyprus that has been able to preserve its denomination; it has been called Citius by those who use the language of the Greeks, and has not, by the use of that dialect, escaped the name of Cethim. And so many nations have the children and grandchildren of Japhet possessed. Now when I have premised somewhat, which perhaps the Greeks do not know, I will return and explain what I have omitted; for such names are pronounced here after the manner of the Greeks, to please my readers; for our own country language does not so pronounce them: but the names in all cases are of one and the same ending; for the name we here pronounce Noeas, is there Noah, and in every case retains the same termination.

In the very beginning of humanity, a name had some meaning. This is a rare practice in nowadays. In a nation, the sound of a name connote an spiritual acceptance or refusal, which would not connote the same in others nations; however, in the other nations exist sound that convey the same meaning, for instance:

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

So, we find Cephas - Peter, Saul-Paul, Tabhita-Dorcas,

There are names that sounds very well in other languages, that go without changes, for instances,

David, Elias, Jesus, Cush, Jeremias,

WRITING AND SOUNDS

In some languages don't exist certain letters; for instance, the Arabic alphabet doesn't have the letter P and the letter C, the replacing letters are (Arabic - Spanish speaker) B and G, for instance, Paca would be Baga. The letter R is hard for the Chinese people; so, Reagan becomes Leagan. The word JESUS is written the same in Spanish and in English, but sound different in each language:

English is heard: Yee-s-ah-s; while in Spanish is heard Heh-s-oos.

42.000 sons of Jacob lost their lives because they couldn't pronounce the letter Shin:

Judges 12:6 Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

Bruce Olson, an American Missionary living with the Motilones tribe in Colombia, South America, is called by the natives, Broncoh, since Bruce Olson is to hard for them to pronounce.

In the day of the Pentecost, nobody wrote words there, but spoke them:

Acts 2, 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3: And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5: And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7: And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8: And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9: Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10: Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11: Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
12: And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

SERPENT'S HEAD

When the serpent deceived the woman and made she commit sin, the Lord God dammed the serpent and promised just one and only one saviour to came help human race:

Genesis 3:14: And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

The human being has not paid attention to this line: "her seed shall bruise thy head"; but the serpent has been worried from that moment about her head, much as to implant to himself six head more:

Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

And has tried to eliminated that danger before he was born:

He planned the contamination of the Sons of God with the human race in order to destroy all men and women, but failed because the just Noah. Sooner, after the flood, the serpent tried again to involved the human race against God, building a system to enter into heaven and chase the same seed there, before he came to be born, but failed because of the personal intervention of the Lord. Knowing that the promised seed would came through Sarai, the serpent affected her belly to avoid she having babies; the same thing did to Rebecca and Rachel. All these woman, including Noah's woman had children only through divine intervention.

The serpent, knowing very well that the promised seed would be born in the land of Israel, the same place where the delightful garden was, led there giants, the sinful sodomites and the wicked and sex ill sons of Canaan. The serpent rose sects of Astrologers, and observers of the heavens in every part of the earth, in order to capture the moment and place where the seed was to be born.

In the invisible dimension a spiritual war has been led continuously:

Joshua 5:13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?
15 And the captain of the LORD's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

THE BRUISED HEEL OF THE SEED

ANOTHER CHRISTIAN COINCIDENCE?

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

This continuous war doesn't depend of man interpretation or interest. The fight is tough and deadly. Satan and his demons use all their forces and tools to destroy angels and human beings. It is promised that the serpent itself would bruise the heel of the promised seed, it is just a sign that identifies that particular seed:

In 1968 building contractors working in a suburb north of Jerusalem accidentally uncovered a Jewish tomb dated to the first century after the death of Christ. Lying in a Jewish ossuary bearing the Hebrew inscription 'Jehohanan the son of HGQWL' were the skeletal remains of a man in his twenties, who had been crucified. The evidence for this was based on the right calcaneum (heel bone) of the individual, pierced by an iron nail 11.5 cms. in length. The nail penetrated the lateral surface of the bone emerging on the middle of the surface in which the tip of the nail had become bent. The bending of the tip of the nail upon itself suggests that after the nail penetrated the tree or the upright it may have struck a knot in the wood thereby making it difficult to remove from the heel when the victim was taken from the cross.

Remains of olive wood found between the head of the nail and the heel bone suggest that prior to penetrating the heel bone the nail was driven through a wooden plaque so as to increase the head of the nail thus making it difficult for the victim to free his legs from the upright. Due to the taphanomic process which occurred over a period of 2,000 years the skeleton was in a poor state of preservation. Being friable and fragmentary, with many postmortem breaks, the right heel bone was not amenable for proper anthropological investigation.

SOME OTHER CHRISTIAN COINCIDENCES?

 THE PROMISED WOUNDS

Zacharias 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.

WOUNDED BY HIS BROTHERS

John 20: 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25: The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

THE PROMISED THIRTY PIECES OF SYLVER

Zacharias 11: 10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. 11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD. 12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. 13 And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

THE THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER PAID

Matthew 26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15: And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

THE SCAPEGOAT AND THE SACRIFIED

Leviticus 16:7 And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. 9: And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. 10: But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

20 And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat: 21: And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: 22 And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

BAR-ABBAS WAS THE SCAPEGOAT

Mark 15:5: But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled. 6: Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they Desired. And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made Insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.

11 But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.

12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? 13: And they cried out again, Crucify him. 14: Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. 15: And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

Isaias 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Matthew 1:21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Matthew 18: 11: For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Revelation 1: 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

45:4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

Isaias 45:20: Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? Who hath told it from that time? Have not I the LORD? And there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me

Matthew 23: 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Isaias 45:15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Isrel, the Saviour.

John 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

18: For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

John 1: 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Isaias 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Philiphians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
