 The fall tv season was just about the weirdest ever. Not only did the presidential candidates suck up more tv time than ever, we got to see a subway series in Baseball, a slew of new hit series, and Regis handing out money on more nights than ever. With all that said, the start of the season was both good and bad.

Bad first, as always. Viewer futility reached an all-time high as their favourite series were delayed first for the Summer Olympics, then for the World Series, then for presidential debates, again for the actual vote, yet again for the election fall-out, and finally- finally! for the Gore consession speach.

Now the good. All those pre-emptions resulted in virtually no repeat programming and new episodes up until 2 days before Christmas. And the networks had something to celebrate: all could brag of victories and viewership growth.

Here's a rundown of the winners, and the losers, of the fall tv season.
