8 Simple Rules For Datings My Teenage Daughter(ABC, Tuesday 8pm. Premieres
September 17th)

What It's About:  Dad goes nuts when his two teenage daughters suddenly find hormones surging through their bodies.

Who's Behind It:  Star John Ritter has come along way since "Three's Company." In the last two seasons, he's guest stared in just about everything, playing fathers in shows from "Felicity" to "Scrubs." Mom Katey Segal was "Peg" on "Married... With Children," the voice of Leila on "Futurama" as well as Hyde's mom on "That 70s Show." The book the show is based on was written by Burce Cameron.

Unfair Grace Even Before Watching: B+

Premiere Prediction: 13.5mil

The Reason:  Viewers will show up- for the first week anyway. After that, it's all up to John Ritter. He better hope the cast jells well, the jokes are funny, and that it's compatible with "According To Jim."

According To Jim (ABC, Tuesday 8:30pm. Premieres October 1st)

What's Happening:  The same old sh-t. Only this time, Jim's brother Robert guests, while Dana (Jim's sister in law) tries to get on "The Bachelor." This time "The Bachelor" airs on Wednesdays at 9pm, right after 8:30pm... where "ATJ" used to air. Talk about missed opportunities.

Where It's Been:  ABC brazenly proclaims this it's newest hit sitcom. Considering it averaged only 10.2mil viewers last season, that's brazen indeed.

Last Season's High: 12.7mil (October 3, 2001)

Premiere Prediction: 10.6mil

The Reason: Comically, the linchpin of ABC's Tuesday happy hour, this show has alot of prove. It had better hope that the few viewers it had will sitck around for the second season or a massacre  à la ABC last October (RIP "What About Joan," "Bob Patterson.") will occur. But then again, summer reruns in the slot have been extremely promising, averaging in the 7.0mil range, well above the ABC curve.

Life With Bonnie (ABC, Tuesday 9pm. Premieres September 17th, at 8:30pm for two weeks)

What It's About:  Bonnie Hunt plays a small time celebrity who sometimes gets noticed. Add in her family and co workers, and you have hilarity! Or so ABC would like us to believe.

Who's Behind It: Bonnie Hunt must have have something on somebody at the networks; she's been given so many vehicles she should change her last name to Ford. The rest are unknowns.

Unfair Grade Even Before Watching: B

Premiere Prediction: 10.1mil

The Reason: All of Hunt's former vehicles have been flops. Why will this be any different? Add in a  tought slot, ABC's track record on Tuesday form last season, and you have a losing combination.

Almost Perfect (ABC, Tuesday 9:30pm. Premieres October 1st)

What It's About:  Working girl (Sarah Rue) works her way up in the tv newsroom to be the anchor...'s secretary. From then on out, it looks something like "Murphy Brown" crossed with "Wednesday 9:30" or "My Adventures in Television."

Who's Behind It: Terri Minsky writes it, she comes from "Sex And The City." Sarah Rue is from "Popular," Andy Dick and Eric Roberts also co-star.

Unfair Grade Even Before Watching: B+(the promos look funny)

Premiere Prediction: 8.0mil

The Reason: Ultimately, a forgettable sitcom airing in a tough slot. As N'Sync once said, "Bye bye bye."

NYPD Blue (ABC, Tuesday 10pm. Premieres September 24th)

What's Happening:  More romance for everybody, with some crimes thrown in. Now in it's 9th (or 10th?) season now, soapy-stuff is alot less challenging.

Where It's Been:  If ever a show has defined ABC, it's been this one. Through thick and thin, this show has been keeping ABC's Tuesday at 10pm slot (9pm last season) safe for 9 seasons now, and things should be no different in the tenth. But viewers are slowly tuning out, last season it averaged just 12.3mil viewers, half of what it once did.

Last Season's High: 15.0mil (December 4, 2001)

Premiere Prediction: 14.4mil

The Reason: This show will premiere nice, dip in the middle, and draw nice finale numbers. All's normal on the streets of NYC.
