Alias
(ABC,
Sunday 9pm. Premieres September 29th)
What's
Happening: Sydney
is hot on the tail of mom, even though mom wants to kill her. And I
thought
I felt dejected. Meanwhile, Vaughn is not dead (but not quite alive, as
is the surprise), and Will gets into drugs to more understand the
"minds"
in SD-6.
Where It's
Been:
It wasn't a break out last year, but the series turned out to be so
promising
that ABC gave it a full year after just a few airings.
Last Season's
High: 14.8mil
(September 30, 2001)
Premiere
Prediction: 13.6mil
The
Reason: The
show has 11 emmy nods, third most in the drama realm. If it wins a few,
which it should, a break out could be in order.
The
Practice
(ABC,
Sunday 10pm. Premieres September 29th)
What's
Happening: Lindsay
is still up on her murder charge, which producers say "strains" her
marriage
with Bobby. No kidding.
Where It's
Been:
Was a flop Tuesday replacement for "NYPD Blue" in season number 1,
ratings
dived in the second season on Saturdays and Mondays. But a move to
Sundays
at 10pm in season three did the trick. Thanks in part to "Millionaire,"
it ranked in the top 10 for two seasons. But last year, the show lost a
third of its viewers.
Last Season's
High: 16.5mil
(September 30, 2001)
Premiere
Predicition: 15.3mil
The Reason: The
show almost his a season high for its finale, which saw Lindsay charged
with murder. Viewers will likely come back to see what happened there.
