Touched
By An Angel (CBS,
Saturday 8pm. Premieres September 28th)
What's
Happening: Are
angels falliable? The series will test the theory when Tess comes down
with Alzherimer's. Meanwhile, the series opens with a disaster. Bad
ratings.
Where It's
Been:
A flop in its first season, a move to Saturdays made ratings fly high.
A move to a night later a year later sent ratings into the top 5. At
the
end of the 2000/2001 season it got moved back to Saturday's with
horrible
results. Outside of "Off Centre," it was probably the biggest surprise
renewal of the year.
Last Season's
High: 15.1mil
(Sunday, December 16, 2001)
Premiere
Prediction: 9.4mil
The
Reason: A
weak lead in to what will be a weak night. And this will be the last
season.
The
District
(CBS,
Saturday 9pm. Premieres September 28th)
What's
Happening: Ving
Rhames comes on board for a few episodes, while love is in the air for
everybody else.
Where It's
Been: Became
CBS's only Saturday hope when it debuted two years ago. Viewership
dipped
last season, but it's still overwealmingly the top rated show on the
night.
Last Season's
High: 13.3mil
(December 1, 2001)
Premiere
Prediction: 11.6mil
The
Reason: The
show will continue to be CBS's bright Saturday light, even if fewer
viewers
show up than before.
The
Agency (CBS,
Saturday 10pm. Premieres September 28th)
What's
Happening: Gone
are Gil Bellows and Gloria Reuben, in is Jason O'Mara. The seires also
takes on a mroe "Alias"y slant, only with Jennifer Garner nor the fun.
Where It's
Been:
Performed horrifically in its first season. Even though it drew
enviable
number, it usually dropped more than half of "CSI"s viewers, and it
only
got worse as the season wore on.
Last Season's
High: 12.5mil
(April 25, 2002)
Premiere
Prediction: 10.6mil
The
Reason: Should
the viewers it had follow it, CBS could have a winner. Teaming it up
with
"The District" (which is crossed over with last season) seems like a
good
idea.
