The
Amazing Race 3 (CBS,
Wednesday 9pm. Premieres October 2nd)
What's Happening: The same old game. Eight new teams race around the world. I can't wait. And no, that's not sarcasm. And neither is that. Nor that... Where It's Been: Was CBS's youngest skewing series last year, though ratings were not outstanding overall. Was also a consistant second in its slot in both viewers and adults. Last Season's High: 13.5mil (March 20, 2002, with "Survivor" lead in) Premiere Prediction: 11.5mil The Reason: This, unfortunately, seems to be a limited appeal series. Viewership didn't dramatically go up when it aired post "Survivor" three times during its two editons last seasons. Nevertheless, when "limited viewership" equals about 10mil viewers and a 4 rating in adults on a night that CBS has always had problems with, it'll be around for many more editions.
Presidio Med (CBS, Wednesday 10pm. Premieres Tuesday, September 24th) What It's About: It chronicles the on goings at a private female practice in San Francisco Who's Behind It: The actress are well known. Dana Delaney, Blythe Danner and Julianne Nicholson are the leads. It's produced by the king of health dramas, John Wells ("ER"), as well as Lydia Woodword. Unfair Grade Even Before Watching: C+ Premiere Predicition: 14.4mil (on Tuesday) 10.4mil (on Wednesday) The Reason: Viewers
will sample it on Tuesday, likely thinking they're watching "Judging Amy."
As for Wednesday night, opposite "Law & Order," this one is gonna have
some problems.
