The
Bernie Mack Show (Fox,
Wednesday 8pm. Premieres September 18th)
What's
Happening: A
Where It's
Been:
Was a surprise breakout when it premiered last fall. But ratings
weren't
as great as Fox wants you to believe. On the season, it didn't break
the
top 40.
Last Season's
High: 12.7mil
(November 15, 2001)
Premiere
Prediction: 10.4mil
The
Reason: The
show is premiering a week early to get the jump on "My Wife &
Kids,"
and that's a very good move. Because once "MWK" premieres, this show
doesn't
stand a chance. Fox will likely move it somewhere else.
Cedric
The Entertainer
Presents
(Fox,
Wednesday 8:30pm. Premieres September 18th)
What It's
About: One
of the original Kings of Comedy takes to the air in this variety
program.
Who's Behind
It: Cedric
The Entertainer hosts and produces, the writers hail from "In Living
Colour"
and "Martin."
Unfair Grade
Even Before Watching:
B+
Premiere
Prediction:
8.8mil
The Reason: This
is a weak slot. Though it may or may not be compatible with "Bernie
Mack,"
viewers not likely to watch "Fast Lane" may tune out early.
Fast
Lane (Fox,
Wednesday 9pm. Premieres September 18th)
What It's
About: Another
cop show set in LA! Right after "Robbery Homicide Division" and
"Boomtown,"
this one is different because it's about two cops who go undercover.
Who's Behind
It: Tiffani
Thiessen comes back to Fox Wednesday after two "90210"-less seasons,
the
director is McG, from "Charlie's Angels."
Unfair Grade
Even Before Watching:
C-
Premiere
Prediction:
6.7mil
The
Reason: Good
thing it's getting into it a week ahead of schedule, because it won't
last
much longer than that once "The Bachelor," "The Amazing Race" and "The
West Wing" step up to the plate in the coming weeks.
