Kay: (playing it off)”Um…Nothing I wasn’t going to say anything.” Simone: (not believing her)”Why for some reason don’t I believe you.” Kay: “I don’t know, ask yourself.”(getting up from the table)”I gotta go.” Simone: “Where?” Kay: (making something up) “Um I promised mom I would help Jessica at the shop.” Simone: (annoyed)“Yeah okay Kay.” Kay: (rolling her eyes)”Don’t you have something else to do, then always badgering me?” Simone: “I’m just looking after you.” Kay: “And that’s the last thing I need.”(grabbing her bag)”See ya later.” Kay leaves with out looking back. Simone: (to herself)”That girl needs some help.” Miguel walks in the book café with a lost look on his face. Simone: (noticing him)”Hey Miguel.” Miguel: “Hey.”(walking towards her) Simone: ”And what brings you here on this fine day?” Miguel: “I’m looking for Kay.” Simone: “Oh. She just left to the shop.” Miguel: “I just came from there and Jessica said that she was here.” Simone: “Well you just missed her.” Miguel: “Thanks Simone.” (walking off) Simone: “There something going on between those two.”(smiling)”And I intend to find out.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Miguel walks through the park to get to his house faster. At the other end of the park he spots Kay sitting at a swing alone looking out towards nothing. Miguel: (walking up to her)”Hey.” Kay: (looking up from the swing)”Hey.” Miguel: “I’ve been looking all over for you.” Kay: “You have.” Miguel: “Yeah I have.” Kay: “I thought we weren’t on speaking terms?” Miguel: “Are we?” Kay: “I guess we are.” Miguel: (taking a sit on the swing) “What are you doing out here all alone.” Kay: “Just needed some time away from the Bennett house hold.” Miguel: “I’m sorry.” Kay: (confused)”For?” Miguel: “For being should an ass.” Kay: “Don’t be, I’m the only bitch here.” Miguel smiles. Kay: (hitting him soft on the arm)”Hey don’t agree with me.” Miguel: “So I guess we’re back being friends?” Kay: (sighs)”Yeah I guess.” Miguel: (smiling)”It’s good to talk to you again.”(pause)”Because Luis wasn’t any help.” Kay: (confused)”Luis?” Miguel: “Yeah I told him all…” Kay: (jumping up from the swings upset)”You told Luiz!” Miguel: “Well yeah, I had to have someone to talk too.” Kay: (starting to yell)“What! You told Luis after you told me not to tell no one!" Miguel: (standing up)”I only told Luis.”(pause)”Why are you upset?” Kay: (pointing at herself)”Why an I upset? I’m upset cause you told me to not tell a soul, and you go around behind my back and tell your brother.”(pause)”I didn’t even tell Simone. My own best friend!” Miguel: “I’m sorry.” Kay: ”Yeah you should be.” Miguel: “Why are you over reacting.” Kay: “Why shouldn’t I be.” Miguel: “There something more to this Kay.” Kay: (confused)”What? What are you talking about?” Miguel: “Me and you, you and I, this whole thing.”(pause) It’s new to us.” Kay: ”Yeah it is Miguel, it’s called growing up.” (walking back to the swings)”It was going to happen sooner of later.” Miguel and Kay have a silent moment. Miguel: (breaking it) “I’m scared.” Kay: “What are you scared of?” Miguel: “I’m scared cause what I was feeling at that moment and time, was something I never felt before.” Kay: “What are you saying?” Miguel: “What would have happened if we did kissed?” Kay: “That’s the million dollar question Miguel.” Miguel: “I think we spend far to much time analyzing this.” Kay: “What are you implying?” Miguel: “I’m implying that we should stop thinking and just act.” Kay: ”Meaning?” Miguel: “Meaning…”(pause)”Um, I don’t know. This is all confusing.”(sitting back on the swing) Kay: “Just be honest.” Miguel: “That’s the thing.”(looking up with a sad expression)”I don’t think I can.” Kay: (nodding)” I see. A voice from outside his window calls him. Voice: ”Miguel?” Miguel: (sitting up) “Who that?” Voice: “Its me Kay.” Miguel:” Kay what are doing here? It’s late.” Kay steps through the window. Kay: “I’m sorry I just had to see you.” Miguel: “Why?” Kay: “I’m sorry for snapping at you earlier.” Miguel: “It’s okay, I understand.” Kay: (sitting beside him) “You do?” Miguel: (smiling)“Yeah I do.” Kay: “You know how you said to not analyze and just react.” Miguel: “Yeah.” Kay smiles and stands up from the bed and pulls off her rode and let it fall to the floor . Miguel sits on his bed frozen in awe with what he see right in front of him, Kay Bennett naked. Kay: (smiling) “With the expression on your face I can see you like what you see.” Miguel: (speechless) “A-A yeah.” Kay: (whispering in his ear )”Good.” Miguel: “Kay what are you doing.” Kay: “Something you wanted me to do to you along time ago.” Kay kisses Miguel hard on the lips. Miguel: (pulling away) ”Kay are you sure?” Kay: “Yes I waited for this for so long.”(kissing him on the lips again)”I’m so ready.” Miguel: “Okay.” They start kissing again, Kay lies down on the bed and Miguel rolls on top of her. Kay start pulling down his boxer shorts down to his knees. Miguel: “This can’t be real.” Kay smiles. *Knock, Knock, Knock…* Luis: “Miguel are you awake?” Miguel sits up feeling presser in his shorts, he looks down to discover that he has a hard on. Luis: (walking into the room) “Miguel?” Miguel pulls the covers all the way up to his neck. Miguel: “Yes.” Luis: (looking at his brother odd) “Your going to be late to school bro get ready.” Miguel: “Okay.” Luis walks out of the room. Charity walking behind him. Charity: “Miguel?” Miguel doesn’t answer. Charity: (pulling on his arm) “Miguel!.” Miguel: (finally noticing Charity) “Wh-What?” Charity: “Where were you this morning?”(pause)”I waited for you silly.”(smiling) Miguel: “I over sleepiest.” Charity: “Oh.” Miguel: “I’m sorry.” Charity: (smiling) “Don’t be.”(pause) “You did seemed kind of out of it.” Miguel: “I did?” Charity: “Yeah , I called out your name and you didn’t anwser till the second time.” Miguel: (fakes a laugh) “Wow I didn’t even realize it.” Charity: “Well I got to get to class, see yea later.”(walks off) Miguel: “Yeah.” Miguel turns to walk toward to his class when he spots Kay walking his way with Simone beside her. He starts panicking cause he recalls the dream the night before and start feeling his pants grow. Simone: (smiling at him)”Hey Miguel.” Miguel: (putting his backpack in front of himself) “Hey Simone.”(looking at Kay)”Kay.” Kay doesn’t say anything just looks right through him. Simone: “We have to go to your class this hour. Mrs. William’s is out sick.” Miguel: “Oh.”(looks at Kay again)”We’re not doing anything in Mrs. Cain’s, expect watching a movie. “ Simone: (smiling)”Free time, great.” Simone walks off towards the class, leaving Kay and Miguel alone. Miguel: “Hey.” Kay: “I’m still not talking to you.” (trying to walk pass him) Miguel: (walking in front of her) “Kay we need to talk.” Kay: “Why! What can talking do, this whole thing is nothing. Kay: “Miguel where are we going.” Miguel: “You’ll see.” Kay: “But we’re going to be late to class.” Miguel:” Forget class, this is more important.” Kay: “What can be more important then class?” Miguel: “Just wait.” Kay: (realizing where their going)”Miguel why are we walking to the far end of the park? There only the woods over here.” Miguel stop and turns to Kay. Miguel: (grabbing both of her hands)”Okay.” Kay: (confused)”Okay what?” Miguel: (looking around making sure no one is around)”Kay when you said that you can be honest with me. Did you mean it?” Kay: “Yeah.” Miguel: ”Have you ever had a thang for me?’ Kay: (confused)”A thang?” Miguel: “Yes I mean as more then a friend?” Kay: “That’s why you ragged me out here, to ask me if I have a “thang” for you?” Miguel: “Yeah.” Kay laughs. Migeul: “What so funny.” Kay: (walking passed him)”I’m going back to class.” Kay start walking toward the school. Miguel: “Find don’t answer it, but I well.” Kay stops in her track. Miguel: “Sixth grade I had the biggest crush on you, it all started during the summer when we would spend everyday at the beach.”(laughing)”I recall it so well cause women hood hit you that summer.”(smiles)”I remember your mom won’t let you go in the water so I would sit on the sand with you for the whole afternoon till it was time for everyone to go home.” Kay: (turning around to face him)”You had a crush on me, on the summer I get my period.” Miguel: ”Yeah.” Kay: “Why didn’t you ever tell me?” Miguel: “Chicken I guess.”(pause)”How do you tell your best friend that you like them?” Kay: (soft laugh)“Yeah I know what you mean.” Miguel and Kay have a awkward moment. Miguel: (breaking it)“So when did your crush start?” Kay: (shocked)”Me?” Kay start panicking. How did he know? Who told him, was it Jessica? God if it was her I’ll kill her with my two bare hands.
