Sheridan Crane, portrayed by McKenzie Westmore, is the daughter of Alistair Crane and sister of Julian Crane. She has a close relationship with her nephew, Ethan, who is more like her brother than Julian. Sheridan had a very troubled childhood, which led to a troubled young adulthood. She's a product of money and sometimes uses that to her advantage, which got her in trouble with the law when she first returned to Harmony. After she fled from Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald when he tried to pull her over for speeding, she was sentenced to community service at the rec center that Luis runs. They enjoy a special kind of animosity reserved for people that are attracted to one another and don't want to admit it.
Sheridan and Luis have recently begun to soften toward one another, and Sheridan's admitted to Gwen that she may have feelings for Luis. After their trip to New Mexico to search for Martin Fitzgerald, Sheridan and Luis reached a new understanding in their relationship. Then he saved her life again on New Year's Eve when Martin took her hostage and nearly pulled her along with him through a skylight on the roof of the Seascape restaurant. Sheridan is trying to cook up a way to thank Luis and also make him feel better after his father's death.
When Sheridan was a little girl she woke up from a nap on the living room couch to find a dead body in her living room. Her memories of the incident are understandably vague, but she remembers the body being put in a coffin and she remembers blood all over her hands. Her father instructed her never to speak of the incident, and of course her childish mind distorted the events until she convinced herself that she'd killed someone and Alistair was covering for her. Talk about bad parenting. Alistair then sent her away to a mental hospital in Paris, where she spent years in therapy, trying to work out what happened that night. She grew up to lead a relatively normal life in Paris, but her memory of the night haunted her so much that eventually she returned home.
When Sheridan first decided to leave Paris it was because her boyfriend Jean-Luc had just dumped her. Then he was murdered and his murderers came after Sheridan. After she escaped that danger she set about the business of getting to know her nephew Ethan again. At the same time, she was sentenced to community service and became a permanent fixture in Luis' life. She hangs out with Hank Bennett, Luis' best friend, much to Luis' dismay. Hank has a thing for Sheridan but so far nothing has happened between them.
