Chapter 1:
**Sheridan's Cottage**
It was early in the morning and Sheridan was getting ready for another day at the Youth Center being Luis' slave worker. She didn't mind it as much anymore. It seemed as though Luis was letting go of her last name and they were becoming friends. She kinda looked foward to going to do her Community Service. Her and Luis has shared some laughs and she really enjoyed that. She was almost ready to go when a knock came at the door. She walked over and opened it and saw Ethan standing there.
"Hey, hows my favorite aunt? You look all nice today, whats the occasion?" Ethan asked."No occasion Ethan... I'm just running late for work....." Sheridan said fast."Work? Ohh, you mean Community Service at the Youth Center.." Ethan said, "Then why are you all dressed up?""I'm not..." Sheridan said defensively
Ethan replied, "Ohh, so jeans and a nice shirt are out of style for working? Its just work Sheridan....you always used to just walk around in jeans and
t-shirts."Sheridan laughed, "What are you insinuating Ethan? That I'm getting dressed up for a reason? I just felt like it." 'I want to look good for
Luis.' Sheridan thought to herself.
"Is there a certain Luis you want to impress?" Ethan teased. Sheridan started laughing, "You're razy...Luis and I, we're just friends....so if you don't mind I got to go...I love you." She said giving her nephew a peck on the cheek and running out the door.
**The Youth Center**
Sheridan finally arrived at the Youth Center...late as usual. She walked in just as Luis was walking out. "Where are you going Officer?" Sheridan asked jokingly. "Oh Sheridan...There you are....why am I not surprised that you are late to the youth Center once again?"
Sheridan gave Luis a fake smile, "Very funny Luis...still you haven't answered my question, where were you heading off to?" Luis looked away, "Um..I was...I was..." He stuttered, "I was on my way to
your place, to see if anything was wrong....i mean, you weren't at work yet, and ...i just..." Luis just stopped talking.
Sheridan felt her heart melt, 'He was worried about me?' she thought. She smiled at Luis who just smiled back realizing what he just said. "Thanks for the concern Luis." Sheridan replied, "It means a lot..." She said staring in to his deep brown eyes. Luis couldn't help but smile more. 'She is so beautiful.' he thought to himself. Then Luis broke the silence and starting talking, "So, ready to work on the decorations for the Spring Dance for the kids? The dance is tonight and the gym is bare without decorations!" he asked. "Oh yeah....." Sheridan said as they both started walking to the gym, she
continued, "This sounds like a fun dance, I'm sure the kids will definitely enjoy it...and all the teenagers..." she said.
Luis replied, "Oh yea, the Spring Dance is a favorite among the people of Harmony. Every year, a boy and a girl are crowned into the Spring Royal Court as Spring Prince and Princess. It has been a Harmony tradition since the Youth Center opened." Sheridan smiled, "really? That sounds so much fun...." She said.... wishing in her mind that Luis was her prince and she was the princess. Luis just remembered, "Sheridan, one of the guys that were going to chaperone the dance came down with the flu...I was..I was kinda wondering if you will help me out and chaperone the dance....." Luis asked.
"Oh...yea Thatd be great, It sounds really fun and the kids are great." Sheridan said, just wanting to be there with Luis. "Great......" he said. For the next hour, Sheridan and Luis put up decorations for the dance. They put blue and pink streamers up, along with signs and pastel colored balloons. Luis then came and started helping Sheridan out making paper flowers. They were going to string 'em and hang
them from the ceiling. And at the dance, they were going to hand the guys a real pink or white rose so tehy could give their sweetheart. They were
laughing, telling jokes, and just having a great time together. There were also those awkward silent moments where both of them just wanted to take
eachother in their arms and kiss. Just then, Luis realized that they ran out of pipe cleaners and colored paper for the flowers.
"Oh..I'll go get some...."Sheridan insisted. Luis didn't want the fun they were having to end, he didn't want her to leave, "no its okay...I got it." Luis said..."No" Sheridan said louder, "I said i'll get it....i'll be right back, you'll never know i was gone." Sheridan said smiling. Luis couldn't
resist that, "Okay, hurry back." 'Hurry back?' Luis thought, 'wow I sound desparate!'
Beth was standing at the door watching them being all friendly. "I have to make my move now or Luis will never be mine." she told herself. Sheridan then left to the storage room downstairs in the basement to get more supplies. Beth ran to the corner, hoping Sheridan wouldn't see her. She didn't....and Beth was ready to make her move. She walked into the gym, Luis thought it was Sheridan. "Wow that was fast
Sher..." He turned and saw Beth. "...Beth...Sorry i thought you were...--" Beth interrupted, "Lemme guess, Sheridan?" Luis blushed, "Yeah..." All that
time Beth was listening, she didn't hear Luis talk about having a date to the Spring Dance. 'Here's my chance.' Beth thought.
She walked closer to Luis, so they were not even centimeters away. Luis looked up, and wondered why she was so close. Beth continued, "Luis, I was
wondering if you had a date to the dance tonight?" Luis was shocked, he desperately wanted to go with Sheridan..."Uh...actually no." He said, he didn't want to hurt her feelings after everything she's been through, with her family and all. Beth smiled, "Oh do you want to go together?" She asked. Luis gave in, "Sure...." She said, giving Luis a hug, and then
pulling him into a passionate kiss....
Sheridan found the supplies...pipe cleaners, paper, and a glass vase to put the real flowers in, and she ran upstairs to get back having a great time with Luis. She walked into the gym, smiles and all, ready to continue their time together and found him and Beth kissing. Her smile quickly dimished as she dropped all the supplies. The sound of the breaking glass broke Beth from Luis.....as Luis found Sheridan standing there, with tears welling up in her eyes.

Chapter 2:
Sheridan's heart sank, like someone just punched the lights out of her. She closed her eyes, 'Maybe its just a dream' She thought--she hoped. But when
she opened them again, Luis and Beth were still standing there. She looked down and saw the mess she made, and all the broken glass at her feet. She
bent down and then started picking it up. "Sheridan, Don't......" Luis said walking over to her. He bent down to stop her from picking up the glass. He didn't want her to cut herself. His hand was on hers now, as their eyes met each other. Sheridan had tears coming down her face, while Luis and tears forming at the tip of his eyes.
"I'll pick it up..." Luis said. Sheridan got angry--mainly mad at herself for letting her fall for Luis.
"I'm a big girl Officer....I can do this myself." She said as she started picking up the glass. Just then, Beth interrupted their heated conversation, "Um, Luis I'll see you tonight, you can pick me up at 6:30 for the dance..." she added. 'That will definitely let Sheridan know about me and Luis.' Beth thought. Sheridan cringed when Beth said that. So do Luis, 'Why did she have to bring that up...I know when she wants to be picked up....i was her boyfriend before...' Luis thought. After Beth left, silence filled the room as Sheridan continued to clean up the mess, not making eye contact with Luis. Luis couldn't take it anymore, "Sheridan about the kiss......" he whispered.
Sheridan closed her eyes, the sound of his voice healed her, but hurt her heart. She had to change the subject quickly, she didn't want to hear about it, it was bad enough she had to see it. "So....you're taking Beth to the dance tonight?" Sheridan asked. 'Ugh, why did I just say that.....' she thought. Luis sighed. He saw how much it hurt her. He didn't mean to hurt her like that. He didn't even know why she kissed him, he wasn't really happy with Beth right now. "Yeah, well.....she ..she kinda asked me." he said. Sheridan put the pieces together, "Oh I get it, so she asked you and you said yes and you kissed her?" She said.
"No No No....that is not how it went Sheridan, let me explain." Luis said. Sheridan all of a sudden just regretted what she said, "Forget it Luis, its
none of my business." She continued to pick up the glass when it cut her, "Ouch." she said as her finger started to bleed. Luis was worried, "Oh my gosh Sheridan, let me take a look at that." he said walking over and taking her finger. "I can do this Luis, l'm just going to get a band-aid." She said walking to Luis's desk in the other room looking for a band-aid. Luis didn't know what to do, he knew she didn't want him to go after her. He just sat there, cleaning up the rest of the mess. Sheridan was looking through the drawers of Luis's desk, hoping to find a first-aid kit or something. She found a small picture. "What is this" she whispered. Luis heard and slowly sautered to the door and peeked at what Sheridan was doing. Sheridan turned the picture around, she started smiling really big. Luis saw that she was really happy, 'what did she find?' Luis thought.
It was a picture of Luis and Sheridan. The magician took the picture the day they went on their first date. Sheridan smiled, and started to forget about what she saw. She put the picture in her pocket, and kept rummaging through the desk. She opened the other drawer and found some band-aids. "There they are." She said to herself. She took one out and put it on her cut. She looked up and found Luis looking at her. She jumped a little."Luis..." she said.
"Find what you need Sheridan?" he asked. Sheridan nodded. "Look, I need to finish cleaning up the mess I made." She said walking into the gym. Luis
stopped her, "I finished it already." he said. Sheridan didn't want to look into his eyes because she thinks she can't get hurt again. "Well then I'll
finish up the decorations."
Luis had to explain, no matter if she didn't want to hear. It was just something he had to do, he couldn't stand to see her hurt like this. While Sheridan walked to the flowers, she realized that she broke the only vase they had. She felt so bad, but she didn't want to talk to Luis just then. Luis started to talk, "Look don't interrupt me, Sheridan I need to explain what you saw." Sheridan didn't listen to him and interrupted him, "Luis, Its NONE of my business.". "But I want it to be your business." Sheridan didn't
want to hear it so she changed the subject once again, "Luis, I'm sorry...but I broke the only vase."
"Sheridan, don't change the subject on me, I'll get another vase." Sheridan interrupted, "I said I was gonna go get, it, plus," she looked at her watch,
"Its almost 6:30" said Sheridan knowing thats when Luis had to pick his date up. "You have to get ready for the dance." She said as she walked out of the
door but forgot her coat and went to her car.
She saw a little note on her car, and picked it up. It read:
Sheridan- I'll pick you up at 6:30. I can't wait -Hank
Even though she really didn't like Hank the way he wanted her to. But she felt happy that he asked her, mainly because Luis was going with Hank. She then dropped the note on the street. She then took out the picture in her pocket, the picture of her and Luis. Tears started coming down her face. "How could I have been so gullable." She said. She dropped the picture on the groun where the note was and got in her car.
Luis saw Sheridan's coat sitting on the chair. He ran out to give it to her before she left, "SHERIDAN, SHERIDAN." he called out. Sheridan heard Luis
call out her name, "What does he want now...." She said.
She was just about to go out and see what he wanted, but she remembered how much he hurt her. "I won't let him hurt me again." she said to herself and drove off. He ran after, but couldn't catch up with the car. He stopped in his tracks and realized that Sheridan was hurting, bad. He then looked down and saw the picture that was in his desk. He bent down and picked it up. He noticed a tear on the picture, and slowing wiped it off. He knew it was Sheridan's
which made him cry too. "I didn't mean to hurt you Crane." he said to himself. He found the note too, which made him curl. He dropped the note, wishing he had never read it. "This is going to be an interesting night." he said, walking back to the Youth Center, picture in hand, next to his heart.

Chapter 3:
Sheridan was driving when she realized that she didn't have her coat with her. "Shoot" She said and slammed on the rim of her wheel. "My wallet is in there." she said. She then got an idea. She drove to the Crane Mansion. She entered the mansion to find Ivy and Theresa. Ivy heard the door close and found Sheridan walk through the foyer. "Sheridan, hun, what are you doing here?" Sheridan said, "Actually I was hoping I could use a vase, for the Spring Dance. I kinda, accidentally broke the one the Youth Center had." she said. She noticed Theresa standing there, which made her remind herself of Luis. "Theresa, Its nice to see you."
"Ms Crane, same to you." Theresa said. "Please call me Sheridan." Sheridan said.Theresa smiled, "ok Sheridan." "Yes." Ivy said, She walked over to the nearest antique vase, took out the flowers and dumped the water and handed it to Sheridan. "Its Julian's, tell the Youth Center that they can keep it. A donation under the Crane name." Ivy smiled,Sheridan laughed, "Thank you so much Ivy." All that time, Theresa noticed that Sheridan's eyes were red and puffy. "Sheridan, have you been crying?" Sheridan froze, "Uh--" she couldn't lie to anyone, except maybe Luis, "Yeah...its nothing Theresa, don't worry about it."
"Lemme guess, Its my brother isn't it? My gosh, he can be so impossible sometimes." Theresa ranted. Sheridan smiled, "You got that right Theresa." She turned to Ivy and said, "Thank you so much, I have to get going, the dance starts soon and I have to get ready." Theresa says, "Oh, that reminds me, I have to get going too Ms Crane, I have to get ready for the dance also. I told Luis I would help him out." She handed Ivy some papers and walked to the door, she looked back at Sheridan and said, "He'll come around Sheridan, no matter what he says, he really does
care about you." Theresa said. Sheridan formed a small smile on her face and turned to Ivy. "Well I better get going, thanks again for the vase, I'm sure
Julian wouldn't mind." she said laughing. "Have fun Sheridan." Ivy said as Sheridan left the Crane Mansion and went to her cottage.
**Sheridan's Cottage**
She went inside and put the vase down. She went and sat on her bed, thinking about Luis and everything that happened today when the phone rang. Sheridan got up and picked it up."Hello?" She answered "Sheridan, its Hank. Did you get my note?" Her eyes closed, *I wish it were Luis* she thought, "Oh yeah, Um, Hank, I think I have to take a rein check, I have to get ready and finish up some setting up stuff for the dance, why dont' I just meet you there?" She asked. "Sure. I'll see you then. Bye Gorgeous." Sheridan cringed and hung up. She went to get ready and nice light blue dress, to fit the "Spring" Theme. She did her make-up and hair and was ready to go. She grabbed the vase, and went to the Youth Center.
**Luis's Car**
He was on is way to the florist to pick up some single roses for the dance. The pink and white ones him and Sheridan were talking about earlier. He couldn't stop thinking about Sheridan. He looked at his watch, it read 6:15. "Dang, I forgot about Beth." Luis said. He took out his phone (I know, he's tight on money, how could he have a cell phone? Pretend! Thx) and dialed Beth's Number. She picked up, "Hello" Beth said
"Beth, its Luis, I'm running late, I can't pick you up for the dance, i have to run some errunds for the dance and get ready, so I'll just meet you there
okay?"Beth's voice cracked, "Sure, See you soon Luis.""Bye" Luis hung up the phone and reached the flower shop. He got out and got 30 long stem pink roses and 30 long stem white roses. He also picked up 1 long stem red rose, hoping Sheridan would accept it. He went home and got ready. No one was at the Lopez-Fitzgerald home. Pilar was at the mansion working late. Miguel was with Charity at the Bennetts, and Theresa, who knows where Theresa is. Luis got home, got dressed, took the flowers, and went down to the Youth Center.
**Youth Center**
Surprisingly Sheridan was already there, just putting up the finishing touches on the decorations. The door opened and Luis walked in. She looked over and her heart skipped a beat. 'Wow, he looks--amazing.' Sheridan thought. Luis couldn't believe what Sheridan looked like. He always knew she was beautiful, but there was something about her tonight. Was it the dress? The decorations? Or just the fact that its hard enough with the circumstances tonight with Beth and Hank. Luis then walked over to Sheridan and handed her the 60 single roses, with the 1 single red one behind his back. She took the flowers and put them in
the vase. She noticed that Luis was hiding something behind his back. "What's are you holding?" she asked. Luis nodded, "Nothing." He said walking over to the stereo, and started to turn on some music.
"Shouldn't you be with Beth now?" Sheridan asked with a small tone of jealousy in her voice. Luis sighed, "Actually I cancelled, well I just said I'd meet her here, I had a lot to do." Sheridan shook her head, "I see." She said as she went back to re-arranging the flowers. Suddenly a song came on as Luis walked to Sheridan with his arm extending to her. "Will you at least dance with me" Luis asks in a baby voice. Sheridan tried to resist but how could she, she smiled and took his hand as he lead her out to the dance
floor. They held eachother so close, but now, it wasn't the tango--a heated dance, this was a slow dance, where they can let themselves be free..without
a care in the world, just relax and enjoy the moment, getting lost in each others arms.
There are times, i swear I know you're here
and I forget about my fears, feeling you my dear Watch over me, my hopes sees what the future will bring when you wrap me in your wings and take me Where you are, Where you and I will be together Once again, We'll be dancing in the moonlight just like we used to do And you'll be smiling back at me, Only then will I be free
When I can be, where you are.
Luis then took the rose from behind him and handed it to Sheridan, "For you." he whispered. Sheridan smiled, "Oh Luis, Its beautiful..." she whispered back forgetting about how Luis broke her heart, what he just did was in a
way, sewing it back together.
And I can see your face Your kiss I still can taste My memory erased Oh i see your star shining down on me and I'd do anything If i could just be right there Where you are Where you and I will be together Once again, We'll be dancing in the moonlight just like we used to do And you'll be smiling back at me, Only then will I be free
Then I will be free, then i will be free so take me where you are. Baby there are times when selfishly, I'm wishin' that you were here with me so i can wipe the tears from your eyes and make you see Every night while you are dreaming, I'm here to guard you from all fall And everytime i feel alone, I close my eyes and dream of where you are.
Where you are, Where you and I will be together
Once again, We'll be dancing in the moonlight just like we used to do And you'll be smiling back at me, Only then will I be free Then I will be free.
People started to arrive, but neither of them noticed as they all watched Luis and Sheridan dance.
Baby I still believe, I still believe I will touch you that sweet day That you take me there, where you are. I still believe, oh i got to believe I will touch you that sweet day that you take me there, where you are.
They were in their own little world. Lost, in what they believe is love and happiness. They were so close to eachother, they could hear each others' heart beat. Faster and faster.... The song ended as people started to clap. Luis and Sheridan looked around and saw that they weren't the only one lost in the music. They both smiled as the walked away. Sheridan went to the table with the roses at the front, while Luis walked over to the food table to just fix it up. People walked in, and Sheridan handed them a rose as they passed by. A little girl then comes up and tugs Sheridan by her dress lightly, "Excuse me" she said sweetly. Her name was Meghan and she was a girl at the Youth Center. Sheridan recognized her, "Why hello there Meghan..." Sheridan smiled. Meghan noticed all the roses, "wow, they're pretty." said Meghan. Sheridan laughed, "They sure are." Meghan saw the one red rose. "Ooo, my mommy told me that a red rose means love." she said. Sheridan looked down at
the rose that Luis gave her, 'Love eh?' Sheridan thought. Meghan continued, "did someone you love give that to you?" she asked. Sheridan smiled a small
bit and turned to the little girl, "I hope so..." she whispered as she gave Meghan a wink and a flower and Meghan left. "I wish Luis loved me..." Sheridan whispered as the vision of him and Beth were playing in her head.

Chapter 4:
At the food table, Luis was watching Sheridan. He saw how gentle she was. 'I just want to tell you how much I love you.' Luis thought. As the dance got underway, he noticed that they had a great turnout. Everyone was having so much fun. The music was good, and the decorations were awesome. Just then Beth walked with Hank. Beth noticed Luis, as Hank noticed Sheridan.
Beth and Hank walked over to Luis."Hey buddy." Hank said.
"Hey Hank, whatsup? Having fun?" Luis said, still thinking about Sheridan. Hank said, "Yup pal, I just got here, I'm gonna leave you two lovers alone, while i go catch my girl." he said walking off. Luis cringed, 'i am NOT in love with Beth' Luis thought, he continued, 'Sheridan doesn't love you, I love her.' Beth noticed Luis in a daze, "Luis-- Earth to Luis." Beth said. Luis snapped out of it, "Oh, sorry, hey Beth." he said.
Sheridan spotted Hank, 'Oh no...' She thought as she put on her front as he approached. Hank came up, "Hey Sheridan, you look beautiful tonight. Well always of course." Hank said. Sheridan smiled, "Thank you, you look nice too Hank." she said. As the night progressed, Sheridan and Luis exchanged more and more awkward glances. Luis really knew that Sheridan was hurting, and that it was all his fault. He needed to explain himself, he just tade to, even if she won't
listen. 'She can't run from me, I have to take her to a place where she can't run from me.' Luis thought. Beth went to the ladies room, and Hank was talking to his cousin Kay. Luis walked up the Sheridan and tapped her on the shoulder, "Sheridan, do you have a minute?"
Sheridan closed her eyes, "Actually I'm kinda busy right now." she said, but actually she was obviously doing nothing. Luis then said, "Well it can wait,
come on." he said taking her hand, and leading out to the parking lot and got in his car. Sheridan was really confused, "What are we doing here Luis? The
kids are in there, they might need us, What if they nee-" Luis interrupted, "Hank is in there, he'll know." He took a deep breath and started his speech,
"Okay, don't talk until I'm finished. I've been waiting my whole life for someone to love me, and someone to find to complete me.
Those things are really hard to find, I don't really aspire or dream of someone to come, I just wait till it does. That's why I don't really encourage Theresa to fantasize." Sheridan was puzzled, "Luis, what are you saying?" Luis smiled, "I told you not to interrupt me." Both of them laughed a bit, "Sorry." Luis continued, "I know we never really got along till New Mexico, and surprisingly, I admit it--i like it better when we get along." he said smiling, "and when you saw me and Beth today." he stopped, "well, Look, I'm so sorry, she kissed me, i didn't." he said trying to explain himself. "I didn't want to, and when I saw the hurt in your eyes, I felt a part of me, I don't know...." Luis stopped talking, as Sheridan continued, "a part of you died?" she suggested. Luis smiled, "Yea, that's it."
They both laughed, "I'm so glad I got that off my chest." Luis said. Sheridan didn't know what to do, what to say, anything, so she just sat there
in his car. She was looking around when she found a small piece of paper on the ground. She picked it up, "What's this?" she said as she opened it up.

Chapter 5:
Luis looked up, "Huh?" he said, then he realized what Sheridan picked up. "Uh Sheridan, its nothing-" he said as he went to grab it but Sheridan was quicker. She opened it up and it was a picture of her and Hank, at the Book Cafe after what happened at the Ice Pond with Miguel and Charity. Once he knew she saw it,
Luis put his head down, closed his eyes, and tried to hide the hurt that he felt everytime he saw that picture. That's why he crumbled it up and threw it
in his car, he was angry--and sad. Sheridan felt so bad, "Luis, why do you have this?" she asked.
Luis looked up, "Oh, Hank gave it to me, he was telling me how he had the Miss Sheridan Crane on his arm, and he wanted to prove it to me. I wouldn't believe it until he showed me the picture." Sheridan nodded. "Then why is it all crumbled?" she asked. She had an idea of his answer, but she had to ask it. "Look, its nothing okay, um, I think we need to get back to the dance." he said as he quickly grabbed the picture and threw it out the window, got out of the car and left. Sheridan started to cry, she tried to cover up the hurt that Luis "may of" felt. She got out of the car and walked towards the Youth Center.
She felt the need to tell Luis something--just as he did to her. So she walked over to find Luis, he was no where in sight. She then went to look in Luis's
office and found Luis. Then she stood behind the wall where she couldn't be seen, but could hear everything going on in his office. Beth came back and saw Luis in his office. "Luis, there you are, what are you
doing here?" she asked. Luis looked up, obviously hurting, and crying said, "Oh,i just had to find something here, but its obviously not so.." he said
as he gotup out of the chair and started walking towards the door, but Beth stopped him.
"Look, Luis..about the kiss." Luis did not want to talk about this right now, or even ever, "Beth, just drop it okay, it was nothing, probably an impulse thing." Beth looked angry, "An Impulse? You didn't stop it, so it was DEFINITELY MORE than an impulse Luis, don't try to hide your feelings." Luis got
angry,"What feelings Beth? We're just friends." Beth lowered her voice, "So you're saying you felt absolutely nothing during the kiss?" Luis nodded his head as he started to walk out again. Sheridan started to peek out to see what was happening.
All she could do was listen, so she peeked throug. Beth ..ONCE..again stopped him, grabbed his arm and kissed him *Ew!* Sheridan saw this, hoping that he'd let go, after all that talk about impulse made her realize that Luis wasn't really at fault. Luis didn't want to make a mistake this time so he quickly got out of the kiss, "What the heck Beth, what did I just say." he said. Beth was persistant, "Can you honestly tell me that there was nothing there? Luis we have a history, you once told me you loved me. Now tell me,
that didn't bring back any of those feelings, truthfully." Beth demanded.
Luis nodded and smiled, "Nope." he said as he turned around to find Sheridan there.'Oh no, she couldn't of saw that, I can't hurt her again, then i will have NO chance with her anymore.' Luis thought. But all Sheridan could do
was smile. She knew she had to have a reason why she liked (maybe loved) Luis so much, she just didn't know whatit was after the kiss before the dance with Luis and Beth, but now she did. Luis just smiledback as Beth looked on, mad as ever, wondering what was going on between those two.

Chapter 6:
The rest of the night left no staining scars between Luis and Sheridan. They always ended up on the opposite sides of the gym with the two most people
they despise, Hank and Beth. There was one major highlight of the evening though, the one moment Luis and Sheridan shared together. This moment was
when the DJ--Chad Harris announced this yea'rs prince and princess of the Spring Royal Court. The Prince and Princess this year surprisingly were Luis
and Sheridan. Two totally different people honored in a way that everyone would never think of being honored. The Spring Royal Court every year were
of couples, last year it was Miguel and Charity, this year it was Luis and Sheridan? It seemed sort of odd considering that they were not a couple.
Some people were shocked, but the main tone of the room was happiness and expectedness. Everyone noticed the flame between those two people, and now maybe--just maybe--they Two main people would realize it. Everyone cleared the dance floor as they were crowned Spring Prince and Spring Princess, and they shared one dance as this year's Spring Royalty. Usually, the song that was played was a slow song, a love song, but for them, Chad distinctly played the obvious, the Tango. As the two tangoed, they shared smiles, heat, closeness, and a sort of bond, as if they were Pro's at this and everything between them just were not there anymore. The song ended as both of them reluctantly departed from eachothers arms. After the dance ended, Luis, Sheridan, Beth, and Hank were the only people left, cleaning up the mess and clearing out the decorations. Hank then realized that he had to go back to the house because he promised his sister in-law, Grace, that he would watch the store the next day. He couldn't stay up because then consequently he
would never wake up either. He then voluntarily asked if Sheridan would like a ride home and have Luis and Beth finish cleaning up the rest of the gym.
"Actually, I promised Luis that I would help him." Sheridan said as she lied between her teeth. Luis knew that too as he grinned at the comment.
On the other hand, Hank, nor Beth were so greatly appreciated by the comment, but he shook it off as he reluctanly offered to take Beth home. "Well I think I'll stay here and help Luis out." Beth said trying to spend some time with Luis.
Luis interjected, "No its really okay Beth I mean Sheridan's here and there's
not that much left, we can finish it up, go with Hank." he said as he lightly
pushed her over to Hank's area. Sheridan too grinned at this comment.
Beth rolled her eyes in diguest, "Fine." she muttered under her breath as the
two left the Youth Center. Now Luis and Sheridan were alone, not knowing
what to do next. They just cleaned up the rest of the gym in silence,
occasionally bumping in to eachother. When they were finished, Luis realized
that Hank took the police car because Sam needed it the next day. "Dang."
(Sorry i don't cuss), Luis muttered. Sheridan looked up, "What?" she asked.
"I just realized that Hank took the car because Sam needed it and..." he
stopped as Sheridan continued what he was trying to say, "..and you don't
have a ride home." she said smiling. Luis smiled back, "Yeah, that's it."
Sheridan finally said, "Well I can give you a ride home, but first I have to
drop off the community service paperwork at my house before I lose it." joked
Sheridan. "Okay." he said as they both finished up the cleaning and walked
to Sheridan's car.
They both got in and she drove in utter silence. The only thing that was
heard in the car was the music from the radio. Luis kept changing stations,
he couldn't be happy with any song that they played. Sheridan was irritated
by this, she was going to start screaming if he did it one more time. And of
course, he did. Sheridan was just about to blow up when she realized that it
was the song that her and Luis danced to.
There are times, i swear I know you're here
and I forget about my fears, feeling you my dearWatch over me, my hopes sees
what the future will bring when you wrap me in your wings and take me
Where you are, Where you and I will be together
Once again, We'll be dancing in the moonlight just like we used to do
And you'll be smiling back at me, Only then will I be free
When I can be, where you are
Luis then realized it too as both of them simultaniously remembered the dance
they shared earlier that evening.
And I can see your face Your kiss I still can tasteMy memory erased
Oh i see your star shining down on me and I'd do anything
If i could just be right there Where you are Where you and I will be together
Once again, We'll be dancing in the moonlight just like we used to do
And you'll be smiling back at me, Only then will I be free
Then I will be free, then i will be free so take me where you are.
Baby there are times when selfishly, I'm wishin' that you were here with me
so i can wipe the tears from your eyes and make you see
Every night while you are dreaming, I'm here to guard you from all fall
And everytime i feel alone, I close my eyes and dream of where you are
Where you are, Where you and I will be together
Once again, We'll be dancing in the moonlight just like we used to do
And you'll be smiling back at me, Only then will I be free, Then I will be free
They then arrived at Sheridan's Cottage. "Do you wanna come in?" Sheridan
asked. "Sure." he said as they both got out of the car and into the cottage.
Sheridan totally missed what was on her coffeetable, which was a manila
envelope that was marked "CONFIDENTIAL". She dropped her keys on the kitchen
counter and said, "Luis, make yourselves at home, I just have to put these
down and bring a pie to your mother." Luis wondered, "You don't have to
bring anything to Mama." he said. Sheirdan smiled, "Well actually, I told
her I would make her her favorite pie, my mom used to make it for me." she
said all of a sudden turning sullen at the thought of her mother. Luis
noticed it too, "I'm sorry Sheridan." She smiled and shook it off, she
didn't want to appear vulnerable to the Officer. "Its okay, um, I'll be
right back." she said as she went into the kitchen.
Luis made himself at home, as she said, and was looking around. He saw
framed pictures of Sheridan and Ethan, Sheridan and Ivy, and some with
Sheridan and her mom. The pictures of Sheridan and her mom were a little
faded, but otherwise, you could still make out the picture. 'Gosh she looks
lovely..' Luis thought. He then sat down and saw the envelope on her
coffeetable. He wanted to respect her privacy by not opening it. A couple
minutes passed as he heard a lot of noise in the kitchen, 'I'm sure it'll be
a while.' Luis thought as he opened the envelope to see what it was.

Chapter 7:
Luis opened the envelope to find file folder. He opened it and found many documents entrusted to Sheridan Crane. The documents looked like they were
written by Alister Crane, and some written by Julian Crane. He signed the bottom of each. He started to read one of the papers and it appeared that
these papers were a day-by-day event journal that was kept by Alister. The top page had a big note on it that read: To Sheridan, You might find this rather interesting. Luis took off the note and began to read the document.
It read:
March 26 19--
Today, Sheridan was shipped off to boarding school in Paris. She was confused on why. She thinks it is because she thinks her Daddy has the best of intentions. You bet I do. If word gets out about what happened that night in the Crane mansion, Crane Industries would be destroyed and the Crane name would be tarnished. That is why Julian and I have to keep it a major secret. Its a good thing that Julian disposed of the crucial evidence linking the Cranes to the crime. If anyone found out, we would be history.
That is why my little Sheridan is leaving...for good, so we won't have to deal with her anymore. Now that she's gone, we have to fear about word going out on what she did that night.
Luis was shocked. "What happened?" he asked himself. He was just about to
read the next paper when he heard Sheridan's footsteps coming. He quickly
shoved everything back in the envelope and put it back on the table and
turned on the TV to the news so it appeared that he was watching it when
Sheridan walked in, "Comfy?" she jokes.
Luis laughs, "Yeah." he says. Sheridan walks over and sits next to him on
the couch and sees the envelope. "Was this here before?" she says to
herself, she takes it and opens it, "Whats this?" She took out the papers
and recognized Alister's writing, "Oh my gosh." (Sorry I don't say Oh my Go_,
I can't take the Lord's name in Vain). Luis noticed the facial expression
change, "What's wrong Sheridan?"
Sheridan looked up, "Nothing." she said as she quickly put the papers back in
the envelope. She was just about to throw it in the fire when Luis stopped
her. "Woah there Sheridan, what are you doing?" Luis asked. Sheridan took
a deep breath, "Nothing, these papers aren't important, that's all." Luis
couldn't let her throw it away, so he said, "What happened that night
Sheridan?" Those 5 words sent chills down her spine, she closed her eyes and
took a deep breath. She turned around now facing Luis, "What are you talking
about?" she asked. Luis raised his voice, "You know what I mean, in those
papers, what really happened that night?" Sheridan got mad, "You read
these?" she said as she held up the envelope? Luis stammered, "Yes I did."
Sheridan was furious, and concerned. 'What if he saw what Alister wrote. What if he finds out that maybe I killed Martin Fitzgerald?'. But anger consumed her, "You invaded MY privacy and YOU'RE yelling at me?" She yelled. Luis laughed, "You're the one yelling at me Crane." Sheridan threw her hands in the air, "Because I have a right to, you invaded by personal space, it was clearly marked CONFIDENTIAL Luis. I don't go around looking through your police records now do I?" Luis lowered his voice, "I have nothing to
hide Sheridan, what about you?" Sheridan looked away, "This is none of your business." she said, "You read my personal things and I am the bad guy? I don't think so Officer." she said walking away.
Luis caught her by the arm
and sat her down, "Look Sheridan, I know what I did was wrong, but I want to
know, what happened that night?"
Sheridan looked up, trying not to give away anything or he'll realize that it
was her who killed his father, "Nothing happened okay? Father is just trying
to torment me and mess with my head ok." she said, "Plus, if there was
anything, why would I tell you, you have every intention of bringing down the
Crane Empire." Luis looked at her, "Okay, maybe I have some small vendetta
against the Cra--" Sheridan interrupted, "Small? Please Luis, you would
care less if we all burned in he** along with Satan, actually that would be
heaven on Earth for you, knowing that all the Cranes were burning at their
firey stake because you think we all deserve it." Sheridan said raising her
voice.
Luis took a deep breath, "You don't..." he said, not regretting a word of it.
Sheridan looked up with tears welling up in her eyes, "What?" "You don't
deserve any of it Sheridan, you're a kind, gentle person who deserves the
heavens and the stars in the sky." Sheridan smiled and blushed a bit,
looking down at the envelope. 'Maybe I should tell him what happened, maybe
he wouldn't be angry at me, maybe he would be understanding.' Sheridan
thought.
A loud thunder roared outside as it started to pour heavily. The TV
newscaster started to say, "A terrible storm is just about to hit the small
town of Harmony. We are advising you to board up you windows, and stay
inside, this is going to be a long night." finished the newsman as the TV got
disconnected and fuzz was all that was seen on the TV.
Sheridan looked at the TV, then at Luis. The lights began to flicker as
though they were going to experience a power outage. "Look Luis, what
happened that night, I don't think you want to know." Sheridan whispered.
Luis was concerned, "Sheridan, it bothers you, I want to help you out."
Sheridan smiled a bit and told Luis of that night, the thought of killing
Martin Fitzgerald. Luis looked away, he couldn't even make eye contact with
her. He wasn't really mad at her, just mad at the fact that this could of
happened. Sheridan couldn't take the silence, "Luis are you going to say
something?" she said as she started to cry, "Luis, I'm so...Sorry."
Sheridan said as a tear rolled down her cheek. Just then the flickering
stopped as the lights finally went out.
