Chapter 1:
Sheridan Crane looked around her cottage, thinking about what she heard
Luis say two days ago.
*Flashback*
Sheridan wanted to surprise Luis by scaring him while he was in his
office at the Youth Center. She was patiently waiting by the door, waiting
for a good time to jump out and surprise him. As she waited, Luis was on
the phone.
"Yeah, I went out with Sheridan again the other night. I had a great
time."
Sheridan started to smile.
"She came down to the docks and I kissed her. It was incredible.
Yeah, I ended up using her."
Sheridan gasped at what she just heard, walked away from the door. Had
she heard him correctly? "Use me?" she said aloud. "I don't think so." she
said tearfully.
*Reality*
She had all her things packed and ready to go. She would be leaving in
a few hours. In her hands was a letter to Luis. She was going to have
someone deliver it to him.
"I need some air and coffee."
She headed out the door and started towards the Book Cafe. She ordered
a cup of coffee and sat at a table. She played with the letter,
contemplating on whether to give it to him or not. Just then someone
interupted her thoughts.
"Good morning Sheridan."
Sheridan looked up to see a smiling Miguel.
"Good morning Miguel."
Miguel, Luis's brother. Just then she had an idea.
"Miguel could you do me a favor?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Could you give this to Luis right away?" she asked, handing him the
letter.
"Yeah, I'm heading over to the Youth Center on my way to school
anyways. I'll take it over now. I'll see you later Sheridan."
"Bye Miguel and thanks." she said goodbye to him wondering if she'll
ever see him again.
Miguel went over to the Youth Center. He walked back to Luis's office.
"Hey Luis."
"Morning little brother."
"Here." Miguel said, handing him the letter.
"What's this?" Luis asked.
"Oh, its from Sheridan." Miguel winked at Luis.
"Quit it Miguel."
"Later, Luis. I'm going to meet Charity at school."
"Have a good day at school."
Luis sat down at his desk and opened the envelop. It smelled like
Sheridan's perfume. God, she is such a beautiful woman, he thought to
himself. He started to read the letter.
Dear Luis,
By the time you are reading this, I'll hopefully be on my way out
of Harmony, for good. It has just been to painful to stay here with you. I
really don't know what kind of game you are playing with my head and heart,
and I just don't want to play anymore. I don't know where I'm going, but I
don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Goodbye Luis.
Sheridan Crane
Next time: How will Luis react? Will Sheridan have left Harmony already?
Chapter 2:
Luis sat his desk, completely shocked. He had no idea what was going
on. He liked Sheridan. He liked her a lot and he thought she liked him,
too. Maybe I was wrong. He was going to get to the bottom of this. He
headed for the door.
He sped over to the Crane Mansion. He went to Sheridan's cottage. Her
car was still there, "Maybe she hasn't left yet." he said sounding almost
hopeful.
He knocked on the door, actually pounded on the door. No answer. He
ran up toward the main house. He rang the door bell. Ethan Crane opened
the door.
"Can I help you Luis?"
"Yes, Ethan. Is Sheridan here?"
"No, I thought she would be with you at the Youth Center."
"Well, she's not and Miguel gave me this letter from her and I HAVE to
find her." Luis said urgetnly, handing him the letter.
Ethan read the letter, a look of disbelief crawled onto his face.
"She's leaving?!"
"That's what it says."
"What did you do to her?" Ethan asked.
"What?!"
"I want to know what you did to her. I know she really, really liked
you so you obviously did something to upset her."
Luis listened to Ethan. Sheridan liked him. Ethan even knew. A sudden
feeling of emptiness filled his heart.
"We have to find her Ethan."
"Okay calm down. I don't think she's gone yet."
"Alright. Let's split up. Call me if you find her." Luis said
persistantly.
Both guys left, urgently looking for Sheridan.
Meanwhile, Sheridan finished her coffee and headed out the door. She
decided to take a walk along the beach.
"I still have 2 hours until I leave for the airport."
When she reached the beach, she took a deep breath. "Hmm, I love the
smell of the ocean."
"I know you do, that' why I came here." called someone behind her.
Startled, Sheridan turned around. "Ethan, what are you doing here?"
"I should be asking you the same thing, but I am here looking for you.
So is Luis."
"Luis?"
"Yes, Luis. If he hadn't come over to the house looking for you, I
would have never known you were leaving until it was too late. I thought
Luis was going to have a heart attack."
"Oh really." she said sarcastically.
"Yup. When I read the letter I thought I was too. Why are you leaving
and what does it have to do with Luis?"
"I am leaivng because I love him." she said tearfully.
Ethan hugged Sheridan. "If you love him, don't you think you'd be with
him?"
"Yeah, but he used me. I heard him tell Sam Bennett that he used me.
For what, I don't know, but all I know is that I refuse to be used again."
"Sheridan, are you sure that you didn't misunderstand Luis?"
"I don't care. I just have to get out of Harmony and away from Luis
Lopez-Fitzgerald."
"I promised Luis I would call him if I found you. And here you are."
"Don't call him, please." Sheridan pleaded.
"But I promised LUis. The guy's probably stopped all flights leaving
Harmony, searching frantically for you. I don't think he used you the way
you think he did."
"Fine, call if you want, but at least give me a head start." Sheridan
said, walking off.
Ethan waited until he could try and determine which way she was going.
By the direction she was headed, she was heading back to the house. Ethan
whipped out his cell phone and dialed Luis's phone number.
"Lopez-Fitzgerald."
"Luis, its Ethan."
"Did you find her?"
"Yeah, I think she's headed back to her cottage. I'd hurry if I were
you, she maybe le-?" dial tone.
Luis hung up before Ethan could finish.
"I hope Luis gets to her in time to stop her from leaving." Ethan said
to himself as he walked back to his car.
Will Luis stop Sheridan in time to stop her from leaving Harmony?
