The Hallway

By Rogue

She stood in the dark hallway not knowing what she was supposed to do now. She had just recieved the phone call a little while ago. Her life. Her hopes. Her dreams and aspirations all went up into smoke the minute that she hung up the phone.

Now what? What will she do with her life now? She was lost; he was gone. Her life was no longer her own the moment he entered into it and now it was thrown back at her like a dirty rag in need of mending.

Her life was once hers again. Broken and shattered. She'll have to learn how to rebuild all over again. To her, her life seemed like a never-ending melodrama. Whenever she reached the state of complete happiness, saddeness would worm its way back into her life.

She started questioning her faith once again: Why was she here? Was she here just to suffer: to be allowed a tiny taste of happiness just to have it snatched ruthlessly away leaving her wanting -- desiring, needing -- more. She was completely lost, not knowing which end of the dark hallway would lead her out of this hellish nightmare, she called life.

There was a faint glimmer of light coming from somewhere at one end or the other. The question that races threw her mind: Which end leads to happiness and which one leads her back to her sad horrible life.

The answer is that both ends of the hallway lead to the same place and what she makes of it will lead to her happiness.
