Chapter 11: Protecting Love

Chapter 11:

Sheridan and Luis walked into the living room and Hank was still there, his face was set in stone. "Where's Pilar?" Sheridan asked to no one in particular. "She had to get back to work, she said she would talk to the both of you later." Sheridan could see that this was going no where, Hank was just getting madder looking at Luis. Luis moved to sit down across from Hank while Sheridan stood thinking about what to say. "Since neither of you wants to start I guess I will. What the hell is going on Luis, how could you steal my girl." Hank spat out.

Sheridan looked at Luis and knew he wasn't going to take this for much longer. Before Luis could say anything Sheridan jumped in. "Hank I never was and never will be your girl." "This is all because of Luis isn't it? We would be together if it weren't for him." Hank said sure of himself. "This was never all about Luis. I was never interested in anything outside of friendship with you, but you always assumed that I was and that wasn't my fault. I never meant to lead you on when I had feelings for Luis and I'm sorry for that but nothing else." "You can't possibly have feelings for him, not after all the dates we went on."

"I do have feelings for Luis." She hesitated a moment as the two men waited for her to finish. "If your using the last two dates as an indication about my feelings for you it's not a good idea because they were mistakes. On New year's Eve I meant to ask Luis out, I thought he was in the closet, when you came out I didn't want to hurt your feelings so I kept the date." Hank was even angrier then before, if that was possible. Telling the second mistake would push him off, but she had to clear it up. Luis on the other hand was holding back a big smile.

"The next date was after the date Luis and I went on. The next day I found the flowers at the Youth Center and I thought they were from Luis, well I hoped they were and when I read the card I didn't know you were standing behind me when I said yes to the date. I thought I was excepting a date with Luis. I'm sorry Hank but it never would of worked when I wanted Luis." "You...you were suppose to be my best friend." Hanks said yelling and pointing his finger at Luis. " I asked you time after time if you were in love with her and you said no everytime."

"How the hell am I suppose to tell you the truth when I didn't know myself. I didn't let myself believe it until last night." "Oh so you get a piece of a** and your in love." Luis stood up angry as hell. "You better shut your damn mouth before I shut it for you." "Tell me something, was she good in bed?" " Get the hell out before I throw you out." Luis gritted out. "She's just going to use you, like the b*tch did to me." That was it for Luis. He hit Hank square in the jaw and he went flying. Luis picked Hank up by the shirt and threw him out the door, slamming it shut and locking it.

When he turned back to Sheridan she had tears running down her face. Luis walked towards her, completely letting go of his anger. "Hey, what's wrong Sheridan?" he asked softly. She didn't answer him, only more tears flowed. "Sheridan tell me what's wrong. I don't like seeing you cry." he said while wiping the tears away. "I'm so sorry." She said crying more. "Sorry for what?" He asked, cupping her face in his hands. "I never meant to come between the two of you, I didn't think it would come to this and I'm so sorry Luis." she continued to cry. Luis couldn't stand to see her cry, he would do anything to see her smile. "Look at me Sheridan." She raised he head to look at him as he brushed more of her tears away. "You have nothing to be sorry about, you can't help how you feel, just like I can't. Nothing and no one will keep us apart, I love you." Sheridan was smiling now.

"I love you too." Luis bent down to kiss her. It started out as a sweet kiss on the lips but it escalated from there. Luis began to unbutton her shirt revealing the white lace bra she had on. He slowly pushed her shirt off her shoulders as she moaned. He pulled her back into the kiss. A moment later he felt her move her hands up to his chest. She wanted to feel his bare skin and she couldn't do that through his shirt. She ran her hands down his chest until she got to the bottom of his shirt. She slid her hands up under his shirt. She looked up to see his eyes closed and his breathing heavy. She pulled his shirt off and began kissing his chest. She worked her hands down to his belt, he groaned as she began to unbuckle his pants.

Luis was losing all control, that's when he knew he had to stop. "We shouldn't do this Sheridan." He said grabbing her hands that were now working on his zipper. "Why not?" She asked drawing back from him. "Because I can't protect you in the state that I'm in right now." Sheridan's face fell. "Are you telling me we can't make love until Roger and Pierre are captured?" Sheridan asked praying that wasn't the case. "Yeah that's what I'm saying." He said frustrated. "You can't be serious." she said walking back up to him and ran her finger down his chest. "I'm sorry Sheridan but we can't do anything until I'm sure your out of danger." He then realized how hard this was going to be.

He hoped Sheridan didn't make it hard on him but then again she always made things on him difficult. She loved to test him. "Okay Luis, I won't try and change your mind, I see how determined you are." She picked up her shirt and buttoned it back on. Sheridan in reality had no real intentions of listening to Luis, when did she ever. Their night of passion left Sheridan wanting more. She knew Luis felt the same way, she wondered how long he could last.

"That's it...no hysterics." He was a little disappointed and it showed. Sheridan saw this and grinned at his disappointment. "Your disappointed." She said smiling as Luis put his shirt on. "What?" he asked as he adjusted his collar. "About what?" he said rephrasing. "Your disappointed that I'm not picking a fight with you over us not making love. Why? I thought you would be glad I'm not fighting you on this." "I just thought that you would protest more after the night we had, unless it wasn't..." "Don't even finish that sentence Officer." she said interrupting him. She began playing with his shirt collar.

Last night was the best night of my life." She pulled him down so her mouth was at his ear. "It was the most passionate, loving and wild night of my life." she pulled back and stared into his eyes. The smile had returned to his face as he remembered. "I thought I couldn't love you anymore that I did until we made love. I love you more now if that's possible." "Oh its possible because I feel the same way." He then kissed her sweetly on the cheek. "In fact last night surpassed my dreams." "You dreamed about me?" "Oh yeah." She said smiling as she remembered the lockeroom dream. "Do tell." Luis said grinning. He'd never even thought that Sheridan would dream of him. "What were they about?" He asked sweetly. "You." "Anymore to tell." Luis asked getting antsy.

"Yeah," she said seductively, "but I'll wait until we can actually do something about them." She couldn't possibly retell the dreams to him without getting herself all worked up. "So what do you want for breakfast?" She asked sweetly, turning towards the kitchen. "Anything you cook is fine with me." "Be careful what you say, remember I like to try new things." She said entering the kitchen. "Sheridan..." he said running after her to make sure she didn't cook anything weird. She turned around with a smirk on his face. "Your so easy." she said as she pulled but some bacon, eggs, and some other ingredients to make some pancakes. "Is bacon, eggs, and blueberry pancakes okay with you?" (In my story Sheridan can cook) "Yeah that's great. Do you need any help?"

"No I'm fine but you can sit in here and keep me company." She pulled out an apron and put it on. Luis just sat down grinning, she looked so cute. They talked about the silliest things as she cooked. Suddenly there was a knock at the front door and Luis got up to see who it was. It was Ethan and Gwen. They all walked back into the kitchen to see Sheridan. "Hey auntie?" Ethan said cheerily. "Hey Ethan, hey Gwen." "Hi Sheridan." Gwen said. "How's your hand?" Ethan asked concerned. "It's fine Ethan, it hurts a little but I'll be fine." "That's good to hear."

"Do you guys want something to eat?" Sheridan asked as she took the bacon out of the pan and mixed the pancake batter up. "What'cha cooking?" Ethan asked almost child-like. "Blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon." "Count me in." "Sheridan I had no idea you cooked." Gwen said. "Your not the only one." Luis said jumping in. "Sheridan's a great cook." Ethan said chiming in. "Thanks Ethan." She pulled a stack of pancakes off the griddle and fixed a plate for each of her guests. Soon there was another knock at the door and Luis went to check who it was. It was Ivy and Sam. Ivy had run into Sam on her way to the the cottage to see Sheridan. Ivy quickly made a beeline for where Sheridan was. when Luis, Sam and Ivy came in Ethan and Gwen were already eating away.

"Good morning Ivy and Sam." Sheridan said happily. "Good morning." Sam said. "Morning." Ivy said, but the way she said it, it had a meaning behind it and Sheridan noticed it. "Do you guys want some breakfast?" She asked as she sat Luis' plat down in front of him with a cup of coffee. "No thanks Sheridan, Grace already filled me up." Ivy frowned at the mention of Grace. "Same for me, I'm getting ready to go swimming," Ivy informed them "but I had to talk to you." "Well this sounds good. What about?" Sheridan asked, her curiosity peaked to new levels. Ivy just gave her a look and Sheridan knew it involved her. She took her apron off and grabbed a glass of orange juice.

"If you'll excuse me, Ivy and I have some things to discuss." "Oh that we do." Ivy said with a sly grin. Sheridan quickly pushed Ivy out of the kitchen to her bedroom. "My, my, my aren't we happy. I wonder why." Ivy said amusingly. "Spill Ivy." "I spoke to Pilar this morning. It's about time Sheridan." Sheridan immediately started grinning from ear to ear. "My God your glowing. Was it everything you thought it would be?" "Lord yes and much, much, much more." Sheridan emphasized. "That good?" Ivy asked. "If it got any better I would be dead. It was the best night of my life, perfect in every way and very pleasurable."

"I'm so happy for you Sheridan and just think he's living with you. I guess your going to be one tired woman." "Actually Luis told me this morning that we can't make love until the drug cartel is caught, something about me being a distraction." "Hmmm and if I know you, your going to make it a challenge for him, am I right?" "You better believe it, come on we better get back." "I guess you want to see how long he'll last." "Oh yeah." Both women entered the kitchen laughing. "Sheridan, I have to go, bye everyone."

"Bye Ivy." Sheridan said grinning. Sheridan fixed herself a plate and sat down by Gwen and across from Luis. Luis sat across from Sheridan and wondered what her and Ivy were talking about. he watched her from across the table, he knew it was going to be a challenge for him to keep his hands of her but he had to stay focused. Sam informed him that the drug cartel were on the move. He couldn't stand it if something happened to her, but nothing would happen to her, not as long as he was there and there was a breath in his body. He thought back to last night, this was definitely going to be hard. Before he knew it everyone had to go.

"I never thought they would leave." Sheridan said getting up and moving towards Luis and sitting in his lap. "Sheridan what did I say this morning?" "You said no love making, you didn't say anything about me sitting in your lap. Does this bother you?" Sheridan asked running her finger down his neck, towards his chest to the one unbuttoned button. She smiled more when she heard his breathing change. "You know it does, you know what your doing." "No I don't." She said innocently. "Your a bad liar, come on Sheridan you know I can't protect you if your driving me crazy with desire." He stood up and picked her up. He carried her into the living room and deposited her on the sofa.

He told her he would do the dishes since she had cooked. She said okay realizing she wasn't getting anywhere. She stretched herself out on the sofa for awhile. Luis on the other hand took his time washing the dishes, Sheridan was making it hard on him whether she knew it or not. He wondered what he was going to do. When he had no more dishes to wash or anything else to clean up he went back to Sheridan only to find her asleep. He picked her up and carried her to her bedroom and put her to bed so that she wouldn't get a kink in her neck. He went back out to the living room to read his newspaper thankful that she was asleep.

Sheridan awoke a couple of hours later completely refreshed and a determination to get Luis into her bed again. She changed into a strapless dress and left her room. She found Luis in the living room watching baseball. She came and sat beside him. "Hey baby, how was your nap?" He asked leaning into her giving her a peck on the cheek. "Good." She said smiling at his sweet kiss. She waited for more but it didn't come. "Where's the rest of my kiss officer?" she asked scooting closer to Luis. Luis smirked and turned his head to face her only to be staring into her blue eyes.

He just stared into her eyes for what seemed like an eternity. Damn he couldn't resist. He pulled her into a fierce kiss that surprised her but nonetheless it was what she wanted. Luis pulled her onto his lap, now she was straddling him. He pulled her strapless dress down to her waist and unsnapped the strapless bra. He broke their long kiss and worked his lips down her neck towards her breasts. He took her nipple into his mouth and felt her body shake. Sheridan arched her back as Luis gently sucked on her nipple and then moved to the next one doing the same. "Oh Luis." She moaned.

Before she knew it she was on her back with Luis on top of her, between her legs. She reached up and pulled his shirt off. She ran her hands up his chest until it was over his heart. She could feel it beating wildly in his chest. Luis clasped his hand over her hand to hold it to his hear. Luis then took her hand in his and kissed it. Sheridan almost melted from the sweet kiss. "God I love you...so much." he said running his hand through her blonde curls. She smiled a wide smile.

"I love you too Luis, more than you'll ever know." All of Luis's reasoning went out the window when he heard that. He began to slowly peel the dress off the bottom half of her body. Just as he was about to pull it off her hips there was a knock at the door. He stopped what he was doing and glanced at the door and then back down at Sheridan. "Let it go, I need you." Sheridan said and pulled him into a kiss. He ignored the door and continued pulling her dress off. As he was about to come back to her the knocking on the door seemed to get louder.

"Sheridan, it's Ethan. I need to talk to you." Sheridan groaned as Luis moved off her. She knew by the sound in Ethan's voice that he needed to talk to her but she needed Luis, oh God did she need him. She got up and redressed as Luis put his shirt back on. She heard the knock again. "I'm coming Ethan, hold on." She walked to the door, unlocking it. She told him he could come in as she sat down on the couch. Ethan strolled in and could immediately detect that he had interrupted something. He looked at the both of them, he couldn't tell looking at Luis but Sheridan, she was clearly frustrated. He was knocked from his thoughts when Luis announced that he would give them some time to talk. He left the room.

"Did I interrupt something?" Ethan asked knowing that's exactly what he did. "Now what makes you think that?" Sheridan asked, although she already knew. Her frustration and disappointment must have been crystal clear. "You have this frustrated look across your face." Ethan said grinning. "Okay, okay, okay what did you want to talk about? Is everything okay?" Sheridan asked. "No its not. I'm so confused about Theresa. I just don't know what to do." Sheridan was shocked. "Have you fallen in love with her Ethan?" She asked raising her voice and jumping off the chair. "I don't know but I know I love Gwen."

"Well you better find out Ethan. If your falling for another woman Ethan, then you shouldn't be walking down the aisle with Gwen." "I just don't know what to do Sheridan." "Oh Ethan... I can't tell you what to do, the only thing I can tell you is to listen to your heart." "Thanks... I need some time to think so I'll see you later. "Okay, take care." She said hugging him. When Luis heard the door close he walked back in. "Poor Ethan, to have feelings for Gwen and ..." "Feelings for who?" luis asked. Sheridan jumped at his voice, she didn't even hear him come in. "Luis you scared the crap out of me."

"I'm sorry." he said sincerely enough that she forgot that he had heard part of her own little conversation. " So who does Ethan have feelings for besides Gwen?" Luis asked showing great interest. He was looking her right in the eye. "I can't tell you that." she said softly and taking a step back. "Come on Sheridan, it's not like I know the person. Do I?" He asked eyeing her carefully. She turned her back and walked back to the door to lock it. "No you don't know the person." She said lying with her back facing him. Luis knew she was lying to him.

"Sheridan look at me." She turned around to look at him. He held out his hand and she took it, the both of them had a seat together. "Tell me the truth Sheridan." He said looking straight into her blue eyes. "I am." He noted how her eyes shifted to the left which gave her away. He grew angry she had just lied to him, right to his face. "Damn it Sheridan! Is it so hard for you to be honest with me?" He yelled jumping off the chair angry as her. "What are you talking about Luis? I am honest with you." Luis held up his hand to silence her.

"You don't trust me. you say your in love with me but you can't be honest. I honestly thought that after the love we made last night you would be completely honest and truthful, just like I am with you." Luis said practically yelling. "Luis how can you say such a thing, I do trust you, hell I trust you with my life. You can ask me anything else but i will not, can not betray Ethan's trust in me." "Anything?" "Yes." Sheridan said with a light smile.

"What happened between us? Why did you walk in to the Youth Center and slap me, saying that I never meant a damn thing to you and that I was just your boy toy?" Luis asked her angrily. the anger and bitterness was written clearly on his face. Sheridan winced. "Anything but that." Sheridan said hesitantly, she just made Luis angrier. "You said anything Sheridan or was that another lie Sheridan." he yelled. "You wanna know, fine I'll tell you." She said yelling as her face broke out into a clear pool of hurt.
