Chapter 14: Protecting Love

Chapter 14:

Luis was the first to wake up the next morning. He awoke with a smile on his face as he remembered last night. He looked down at her, she had a smile on her face. She had ruined him for other women, he also knew that he didn't want any other woman. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, for this he knew he had to do something about Alistair and Julian. He would be damned if he let them hurt Sheridan again. He looked over at the clock, it was almost eleven he decided to get up but he would let Sheridan sleep as long as she wanted, she looked so peaceful. He carefully slid Sheridan off of him and out of bed as not to wake her. She rolled over and grabbed a pillow, holding it to her. She mumbled Luis' name and 'I love you.' Luis broke out into a grin when he realized she was dreaming about him. He went to take his shower, smiling the entire time.

Just as he stepped out of the shower he heard knocking at the front door. He quickly wrapped a towel around his waist and grabbed his gun, whether or not there was security outside the cottage. "Who is it?" Luis asked. "It's Sam, open up." He opened the door up and told Sam to come in. "What's with the Crane security? Did something happen?" Sam asked. "You could say that, I'll fill you in after I get dressed. He was about to put his shirt on when the phone rang. He dashed out to the living room to get the phone so it wouldn't wake Sheridan up. Whoever was on the line hung up after 2 rings. When luis picked up the phone, he only heard the dial tone. He put it back down on the cradle and shrugged. When Luis turned around to retrieve his shirt Sam noticed the scratch marks, more like claw marks on his back.

"Luis what happened to your back?" Sam asked, his curiosity getting the better of him. "What are you talking about Sam?" Luis asked turning around. Just then Sam noticed the purplish mark on his neck. "I'm talking about the marks on your back and neck." Sam said getting serious. Luis looked in the mirror and saw what Sam was talking about. She had left her mark on him, literally. He turned back to Sam and shrugged, there was no denying it, he was happier than he ever had been. "Luis." Sheridan called from the bedroom. "Yeah Sheridan." "When are you coming back to bed?" She asked. Luis' cheeks became a little pink. If Sam didn't get it a minute ago, he knew now. "Sheridan, it's time to get up, it's past eleven." "I can't." "And why not?" Luis asked.

"I guess you wore me out last night." At hearing this Luis began to turn a bright shade of red while Sam tried not to laugh at Luis. "Sheridan get out of bed." He heard her groan in frustration and get out of bed. She glided into the living room in the short nightgown Luis had took off her last night, she didn't even see Sam sitting down. She kissed him sweetly on the lips and wrapped her arms around him as he did the same. "Since you wouldn't come to me, I came to you." She said seductively. She ran her finger down his jawbone. She pulled him down to her eye level and whispered something in his ear. Whatever she said increased his smile by ten fold. "As great as that sounds we can't right now." "Why not?" She asked. "It's not the time." "If you start spouting this drug dealer stuff..." Luis threw Sam a look that meant say something.

"Hi Sheridan." Sam said simply. Sheridan stopped mid sentence of what she was saying and froze. She turned around to see Sam sitting comfortably and smiling at Luis and her. "Hi Sam." Sheridan turned back to Luis who was still grinning, she on the other hand was completely pink in the face. "I'm going to get dressed." She said, before going back into her room, she stopped half way. "I'm going to get you back Luis." "Oh really?" "Oh yeah, you better believe it." With that she left. Luis watched her go, the smile he had never leaving his face until he heard Sam's voice. "Luis you know your just looking for trouble." Sam cautioned. Luis turned around to face Sam. "It can't be helped Sam, I love her." Sam threw his arms in the air as if to say finally. "It's about damn time you admitted it." Luis laughed. "So what are you going to do about Hank and all the other people who don't want you two together.

"Hank already knows about us and he wasn't too happy about it." Luis said grimly. "So you told him and he reacted badly." "Not exactly, we didn't tell him." Luis confessed. "Then how did Hank find out?" Sam asked clearly curious. Luis looked as if he was going to squirm out of his skin. Sam knew this was going to be good. "I'll put it like this, he came into Sheridan's room at the entirely wrong time and got an eyeful of us together." At hearing this Sam's jaw dropped. "Let me guess he walked in when you and Sheridan were about to make love." "That's exactly what it was, when he saw us he yelled 'what the hell' and that caused mama to run in the room." Sam was shocked now. "Pilar walked in on you two in bed?" Sam asked barely holding back his laughter. "By the time she got in there Sheridan and I were standing with the sheets around us." At hearing this Sam couldn't hold back his laughter. "laugh it up Sam," Luis looked down at his watch, "I'm going to check on Sheridan." He walked into Sheridan's room, she was sitting at her vanity digging through on of the drawers. He walked up behind her, wrapped an arm around her, planting kisses down her neck. He heard her sigh and he smiled against her neck.

"What are you looking for?" Luis asked curiously. "My concealer." "Why? You don't need make-up, your damn beautiful without it." Luis confessed. Sheridan turned around and planted a gentle kiss on his lips. "Thank you." she said blushing. "Your so cute when you blush." Luis commented through a grin. "You were at your cutest in the living room a while ago." He admitted laughing. "That was not funny." She said playfully smacking his arm and resuming her search for her concealer. "Is there a reason why your on a mission to find your concealer." At this Sheridan stood up and held out her hand for Luis. He came forward and wrapped his hands around her waist. "Look at my neck Luis." He saw what she was talking about. Luis saw the hickeys and laughed, he then told her to look at his neck. "Luis that's nothing compared to my mine."

"Oh really." Luis took off his shirt to show her the scratch marks. "Woman you need a manicure." He said smiling at her and then turned around. She saw what she had did and grinned widely. She wanted to pounce on him but she exercised some restraint. "Is Sam still here?" She asked hoping he wasn't there. "Oh crap, I forgot he was here." With that Luis spun around and put his shirt back on and gave her a quick kiss and darted out the room. She sat back down, finished her make up and started to get dressed. "What took so long?" Sam asked. Luis was grinning like a fool. "Never mind." Sam said, not sure he wanted to know. Luis shrugged his shoulders. Sam felt the need to warn Luis again. "Luis I'm happy for you man, but do you remember the deal you made with Julian?" The smile disappeared off of Luis' face.

"What deal did you make with my brother?" Sheridan asked leaning against the frame of the door not looking very happy. "I think I better be going." Sam said walking backwards towards the door. "Luis I'll talk to you soon. Bye Sheridan." "Bye Sam." Sheridan said never breaking eye contact with Luis. Sam opened and closed the door behind him leaving. Luis could see that she wasn't very happy. "Are you hungry?" Luis asked stalling. She walked closer to him. "No I'm not hungry. What kind of deal did you make with Julian?" As she waited for a response from Luis she thought about what could possess Luis to make a deal with a man he hated, then it hit her.

"That's why he dropped the charges that I filed." It was said in more of a statement then a question. Luis just nodded his head. "And if I know my brother theirs something in it for him, what is it?" "That I stay away from you." Luis told her. "Or what?" She asked knowing there was more. "Or he would reinstate the charges and I would go back to jail." At hearing this Sheridan felt as if the breath had been knocked out of her. "This is all my fault, I can't believe I did this to you..." she kept on rambling on about how this was all her fault, then she finally stopped. "You know you're suppose to tell me that this isn't my fault Luis." Luis sat down on the couch and looked up at her.

"I don't lie to the people I love." Luis said never breaking eye contact with her. "So you think this is my fault?" Sheridan asked incredulously. "Who else's fault is it? If you would of come with me when I told you to I would not of had to kidnap you. Therefore you would not of had me arrested and thrown in jail and Julian wouldn't have this to hold over my head." Luis said angrily over the fact that she had never apologized for throwing him in jail. "No! This is not my fault! Your not going to make this all my fault, you kidnapped me." "If I hadn't kidnapped you you'd be dead, shot by Antoine. I did what I had to do." Luis said angrily, she was still ungrateful as hell. "This is what I'm talking about Luis.

It's always about what you say, it's never about what I want. Did you ever think of asking me to come with you, show that you cared, that I would come back with you. No, you pull your macho superman sh*t." "What would you have said if I asked you, you would of said no because of your damn pride and stubbornness." Luis was now angry as hell and Sheridan looked beyond irate. She turned on her heel and stomped back to her room. Luis heard a string of profanity when she couldn't slam her door. "Damnit Luis you better get someone to fix this damn door." Luis wished that he had a punching bag, she could still piss him off and he needed a release right now. A few minutes later she came back out into the living room to get the phone, she was dressed in a swimsuit.

It took all of his will power for him not to gawk at her, she was so beautiful, especially now in the barely there red bikini. She was still mad and it showed which just added to her appeal. "I'm going out on my patio to sunbathe." "Sorry, no can do, your not leaving this house." "Why the hell not, I just want to go out onto my patio, not to the Bahamas." "Sorry Sheridan." He said picking up the newspaper. He wasn't relenting, Sheridan began to pout. "Luis come on." When he didn't look up she decided to go anyway. She was walking towards the back door when she heard Luis. "You touch that doorknob and I'll handcuff you to your bed." He heard her mutter damnit. "Be fair Luis." Sheridan said in a whining voice.

"Wouldn't you rather spend some time with me." Luis said folding the paper up and setting it down, he was grinning. She walked over to the back of the couch. "Your not exactly my favorite person right now." She said through a pout. "Well that's too bad." He flashed her a mischievous grin which read bad boy all over it. Luis grabbed her hand and pulled her body over the back of the couch onto his lap. "Your still my favorite person." He placed a kiss on her red lips. She tried to resist him because she was still mad at him but she quickly got over it. She moaned when he slipped his tongue into her mouth. She sucked on his tongue, driving herself and him into a sexual frenzy. They finally pulled apart breathless.

Luis looked down at Sheridan's face her eyes were glazed over. "I hate you." Sheridan said. "Oh really why?" Luis asked amused. "Because you make it impossible for me to stay mad at you." "Too bad I love you." "I love you too." She sat up and leaned against him. Suddenly a chill ran through her. She stood up to go to her bedroom so she could change. "Where ya going?" Luis asked almost sounding childlike. "I'm going to change back into my clothes, it's kind of cold in here with the AC and me wearing this." She mentioned pointing to the suit she had on. "No need to change, I'll keep you warm." "Really? What did you have in mind? Letting me sunbathe?" She asked hopefully. "I already said no Sheridan." "Is there anything I can do to change your mind?" "Not a thing." Luis said confidently. He then picked up his paper and pulled out the sports section and began to look through it.

'Yeah right' Sheridan thought, letting the wheels in her head spin. She reached behind her back and began untying her bikini top. "Are you sure about that Luis?" "Yeah I'm sure." He said not even looking up from the paper. She walked over to him with her arm covering her breasts and snatched the paper from his hands. Sheridan saw his eyes cloud over with desire but he denied himself and shook his head.

Sheridan knew she almost had him, she slid herself on his lap, straddling him. She smiled wickedly at him and planted a soft kiss on his lips. When she was pulling back, he laced his hand through her hair and pulled her into a passionate kiss. She smiled against his lips as he slowed the kiss. "Okay, but not for long." Sheridan beamed a smile at him that lit up her face. She gave him a quick peck on the lips and said thank you. She got off his lap and went to get her things. Luis got up and grabbed his gun and walked outside.
