Chapter 23: Protecting Love
Chapter 23:
“Who the hell is calling so damn late?” Luis asked grumpily as he picked the phone up.
“Hello.” He said gruffly into the receiver. He picked his wristwatch up, it was three something in the morning.
“Hello to you too sunshine.” Luis recognized the voice, it was Sam.
“Hey Sam, what’s up?” Luis asked fully awake now.
“I’ve got some great news for you Luis, the Drug Cartel was captured. We have Roger and Pierre in custody.” Sam explained.
“Are you serious Sam? That’s excellent news!” Luis excitedly said. “So I take it the FBI’s plan of a decoy worked.”
“You would be right, I guess Roger and Pierre grew tired of hiring assassins who couldn’t do the job. They broke into Sheridan’s cottage, Pierre got to the decoy first. Basically there was a struggle and Pierre was shot by the undercover agent. Agents on stakeout apprehended Roger.”
“Please don’t tell me that son-of-a-bitch is dead, he deserves to rot in prison.”
“Agent Hawkins, our decoy, shot him in the upper arm. Don’t worry Luis, both of them will be tried, no jury in there right mind would let the two of them walk. They will be locked away for the rest of their lives, that’s a sure thing.”
“Good to hear.” Luis said as she looked down at Sheridan’s sweet face.
“I’ve got some more news, Sheridan’s presence along with yours is requested back in Harmony. Agent Mason has arranged for your flight back to the states. You’ll be on Flight 10, you’ve got two hours to get the other agents together and to the airport. You’ll be picked up from the airport, along with Sheridan and the other agents where you’ll be brought to Harmony PD. Good luck waking Sheridan.” Sam said laughing.
“Ha, ha Sam. I’ll be seeing you soon, bye.”
“Bye Luis.” Luis put the phone down and got up. He put on a pair of jeans, unlocked the door and slid out of the room quietly. He would let her sleep a little longer. He knocked on the bedroom doors of the agents and told them to meet him in the kitchen right away.
When they were assembled in the kitchen, Luis explained the situation and what was going down. They left as soon as Luis finished, they would be packed and ready to go in no time. Now all he had to do was wake sleeping beauty. He went back to her room, h heated to wake her, she looked so peaceful. He sat down beside her.
“Sheridan.” He called gently. She mumbled something unintelligent, but she was still sound asleep. He shook her a little and called her name louder, still nothing. He might have thought something was wrong with her if it weren’t for her light snoring and the up and down motion of her chest. His beloved was a sound sleeper. A naughty idea of how to wake her up came to mind. He quickly got up and locked the bedroom door. He slipped out of his pants and boxers. He slowly pulled back the covers, no woman had the right to be so beautiful.
Luis settled himself in between Sheridan’s legs, mainly settling his face between her legs. He loved to give Sheridan pleasure, she was always so responsive. He placed her legs over her shoulders and began planting kisses on the inside of her thighs. Sheridan moaned a little but it wasn’t enough to wake her up, which was fine with Luis.
He parted her labia and began a slow licking around her opening. Luis slid his tongue up to connect with her clitoris. The tip of his tongue stroked her clit, he then laved her pleasure bud with his tongue. When he began sucking he saw her eyes fly open and a moan escaped her lips, which only made him double his efforts. She was extremely wet, Luis knew she was about to come when she slid her hand into his jet back hair and began grinding herself on his face. He slowed down his pace, lapping at her sweetness like a big cat. She began whimpering but Luis continued slowly. His slow pace began to aggravate Sheridan and she let him know by gripping his hair harder. When that didn’t work she was about to seriously hurt him. She gripped his hair harder, if that was possible and yanked his head up. Her juices covered his lips.
“Eat me.” Sheridan ordered. Luis just smirked. He loved it when something dirty came out of her mouth, she was always so proper, even in the bedroom.
“Whatever the lady wants.” Luis said before he began attacking her clit. When he bit gently down on her clit she went crazy. She began thrashing around and somehow she had the sense of mind to grab her pillow. She screamed his name loudly into the pillow and went slack, her breathing slowly returned to normal.
“God, I love you.” Sheridan pulled Luis up to her and kissed him passionately, tasting herself on his lips.
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.” Luis said. Then there was a knock on the door. “Yeah.” He answered.
“We’re all set to go Luis.” Agent Williams informed.
“Alright, give me about 20 minutes and we can go.”
“Got ya man.” Luis could hear Williams footsteps moving down the hall. He then turned back to Sheridan who looked confused.
“Luis, what’s going on?” She asked.
“The FBI caught Roger and Pierre, we have to go back to Harmony. Our plane leaves in, “he looked at his watch, “an hour and a half. I need you to get ready within the next fifteen minutes. Okay?”
“Okay.” Sheridan said before she quickly got up and threw on some clothes. She was dressed simply in a pair of curve hugging jeans, a tank top, a hoodie and a pair of sneakers. “What?” Sheridan asked confused as she ran a brush through her blonde curls. Luis was giving her a strange look.
“Nothing, it’s just that I don’t think I’ve ever seen you dressed so simple.” Luis said with a smirk.
“Well, I don’t have time to primp and get beautiful for you.” She admitted as she looked away. Luis put his finger under her chin, turning her to face him.
“You’re beautiful no matter what.” Luis confessed, a smile lit up her face.
“Thank you. Why don’t you get to packing, I don’t need to take anything.”
“Whatever you say Sheridan.” In no time Luis had packed his clothes into his suitcase, well he threw his things into the suitcase. Nonetheless he was packed and ready to go. He picked up his suitcase and grabbed Sheridan’s hand. The couple and the agents left for the airport immediately.
“What’s wrong Sheridan?” Luis softly asked. “And don’t tell me nothing because I know something is wrong.” Luis finished firmly. She had been staring out of the airplane window since they boarded. They would be back in the States within a couple of hours, flight 10 was on a Concorde. Sheridan turned to face him, his heart almost broke as he saw all the sadness in her baby blues. “Baby, what’s wrong?” He asked in a soothing tone.
“Luis, I’m scared and worries about returning to Harmony.”
“Baby, it’s going to be okay. Roger and Pierre are in custody now, they’re not going to hurt you.” Luis reassured her thinking that that was the problem.
“Luis, I’m not worried or scared about Roger and Pierre. We’re going back to Harmony, with Roger and Pierre in custody you’re no longer my bodyguard.”
“Just because I won’t be your bodyguard doesn’t mean I won’t still guard your body.” Luis jokes with a waggle of his eyebrows. She didn’t laugh. “What’s really the matter Sheridan?” H asked seriously.
“I’m worried my father and brother will try to put you in jail Luis. You being my bodyguard was the only way we could be together without my family threatening you with jail. I don’t want you to go to jail.”
“Good, because I don’t plan on going to jail.”
“But Luis…” He cut her off.
“Sheridan, I’m not going to jail. You’re stuck with me Ms. Crane. “He gave her a bright smile. “Besides, I thought Alistair said he wouldn’t interfere in our relationship.”
“That’s what he said but I have no reason to trust him. As much as I would love to, I can’t. My father has always been a cunning and ruthless man. You don’t underestimate Alistair Crane, it could mean your end.” She was beginning to scare him, not because she was talking about how dangerous Alistair could be but the fact that she sounded as if she were giving up.
“Sheridan, baby you need to calm down. Nothing is going to happen to me, to us. Alistair is not going to come between us, neither will Julian, I won’t allow it.” He told her fiercely. “We’re gonna grow old and gray together Sheridan.” Luis finished, taking her hand. Sheridan’s head whipped up.
“Do you mean that Luis? Do you really want to grow old and gray with me?” She asked shyly. He took her hands in his, bringing them to his lips and planting kisses on each one.
“I want nothing more that to spend the rest of my life with you Sheridan. We’re forever, can you deal with that?” He asked with a sly smile.
“Oh Luis, you’re all I ever wanted. I want forever with you too.” Sheridan was beaming, bouncing up and down in her seat. “I love you.” She stared into his beautiful chocolate eyes.
“I love you too and don’t forget it.” Once again he kissed each of hands. “Why don’t you try and get some sleep.” He suggested.
“I’m not sleepy.” She was wide awake, in fact sleep was the last thing on her mind. She could still feel the wetness between her legs. She sighed and reached into her bag full of magazines. She ended up pulling out a bridal magazine. She flipped through the pages, picturing herself in the wedding gowns that she liked. She thought she would look great in one of the Vera Wang dresses. The dress was beautiful, especially the bodice which had a corset style to it and hand stitched beads.
She could imagine being lead down the isle by…who would walk her down the isle? She knew her father wouldn’t, that was a no brainer. She then thought of Ethan and Blake, both of the men were an important part of her life. Thank God she didn’t have to decide because at the moment she honestly couldn’t choose between the two of them. She knew Luis would be as handsome as ever in his tux although she wondered whether Hank or Sam would be his best man. Gwen would be her maid of honor. She was so carried away with her thoughts that she didn’t hear Luis calling her name.
“You say something?” Sheridan asked as she came back to reality.
“Yeah, I was asking you if you would like to go to dinner with me at the Seascape when this whole mess is straightened out. Where were you?” Luis asked as he quirked an eyebrow at her.
“A wonderful place and I would love to have dinner with you.”
“Want to tell me about this wonderful place? Luis asked, he was very much curious about her daydreams. Sheridan shook her head ‘no.’ “Oh come on Sheridan, you know I can be very persuasive. You know just as well as I do that I don’t give up easily.”
“Believe me, I know, but I’m not going to tell you so just give up officer.”
“This has to be really good if you won’t tell me.” Luis said with a smirk. “If you tell me I’ll let you have your way with me.”
“I can already have my way with you Luis.” Sheridan said smiling a bright smile.
“Come on Sheridan, tell me.” Luis said, it sounded like whining.
“Stop whining Luis, it’s not attractive.” Luis actually had the nerve to stick out his bottom lip and combined with his brown eyes he looked so adorable. She couldn’t deny him. “Okay Luis, I’ll tell you.” Luis smiled in victory.
“Ladies and gentleman, if you would please buckle up, we’re about to land.” A flight attendant announced over the intercom. Sheridan and Luis buckled up, along with the other agents who were sitting beside them in the next two rows.
“So tell me.” Luis grew antsy, Sheridan was taking a long time to tell him about her daydreams.
“I’ve changed my mind.” Sheridan said as she looked out the window. “And nothing you do can change my mind.” Luis smirked but decided to leave her alone. She looked very much determined to keep her daydream to herself and he would let her, that is until he could get her alone for a little while.
“Okay Sheridan, I won’t push it. You can keep your daydream to yourself.” Luis said looking into her blue eyes, “for now at least.” Sheridan just laughed, Luis never gave up.
They landed in New York where they got onto a connecting flight back to Harmony.
They were in Harmony in less than two hours. As Sheridan, Luis and the other agents exited the gate they heard someone calling Luis’ name. Sheridan looked ahead, smiling when she saw Sam. Her smile disappeared when she saw a certain brunette heading towards her and Luis. Beth practically ran towards Luis, jumping on him, practically knocking Sheridan down. Obviously Beth had either seen she and Luis holding hands and chose to ignore it, which rubbed her the wrong way; or Beth hadn’t noticed their hands and did not know about their couple status.
Sheridan stood to the side, fuming as Luis allowed Beth to plant kisses all over his face. It was disgusting, to Sheridan, Beth was like a big St. Bernard slobbering all over its owner. Her feathers continued to be ruffled, Beth wasn’t letting go of Luis. She turned to Sam and approached him, she was beyond angry.
“Sam, why is she here?” Sheridan hissed.
“She came to the station earlier, to see Luis and she heard me talking about your plane arriving soon. She insisted on coming, even after my protests. Believe I tried, she came to the airport on her own.” He explained.
“I know it’s not your fault Sam.” She said turning back around to face the nauseating site. She was beyond angry now and nothing could or would calm her down. She folded her arms across her chest and leaned a little, as if to say ‘what the hell are you doing?’
Agent Williams tapped Luis on the shoulder saying he needed to speak to him. Beth let him go, thinking that it had something to do with public safety or some other police business.
“What’s up man?” Luis asked as he stood in front of Agent Williams, a couple of feet away from Beth so she couldn’t hear anything they said.
“Luis, man, I don’t know who the brunette is but you better get her off your case because the blonde doesn’t look to happy.” Williams warned. Luis gave him a perplexed look and turned to look at Sheridan.
To say that she didn’t look happy was a complete understatement. He had seen Sheridan angry numerous times, hell he was the main reason for her anger and he enjoyed pissing her off but that was at the beginning of their confrontational relationship. The scowl that marred her beautiful features was making him extremely nervous, she looked rigid. He wouldn’t admit it but he was a little scared of what Sheridan might do to him. He approached her, albeit warily. He could see Sam giving him a look of pity.
“Sheridan, baby…” He began but was cut off.
“Don’t bother Luis, you and I will talk later and you better believe that this will be the main topic.” She gritted out as she threw a sideways glance to Beth, who, if Sheridan wasn’t mistaken glared at her. “We’ll talk later.” She promised, she then turned to Sam. “Sam, would you mind taking me home so I can freshen up a little?” She asked sweetly.
“No problem Sheridan.” She looped her arm through Sam’s arm. “Luis can ride with Beth.” She said glaring at him before she and Sam left.
Now he was left with Beth but the only thing on Luis’ mind was, ‘what is Sheridan going to do to me?’
