DISCLAIMER: Sheridan and Luis Fanfic….I have no affliction with nbc. I don't own the characters of Luis, Sheridan, Ivy, Martin, Hank, Theresa, Pilar, Ethan or Beth. This story does not follow the Luis-sheridan storyline. Ok…I changed few things. First, the Crane family have money but they do not have the power that the show gives them. Second, Sheridan never experienced that night nor the nightmares. Third, Martin is still alive and happly married to Pilar. Pilar is not the Cranes maid. They are a middle class family. Pilar owns a restaurant where Luis works on the weekends. Before Sheridan went to Boarding School in Paris, Luis and Sheridan were best buds. She received a scholarship from a school in Paris, so she decided to go--leaving Luis and everyone else behind. Luis went to Harmony High. Now, it's January, 3 1/2 years later. Sheridan decided to come back to finsh her senior year at Harmony High.

Chapter 1:

Sheridan's Bedroom
'I can't believe I actually came back to harmony,' she said to herself. What was I thinking coming back here? What if my last half of my senior year is a disaster? What if everyone hates me? What if…what if Luis doesn't want to see me? Sheridan stop. Where did that come from? Of course he wants to see me--I was his best bud. Uggg…why did I ever leave Paris--the city of love?' She paused and fell on the bed before answering herself. 'Because Sheridan, You had no one to share it with. All I ever wanted is someone to love me unconditionally. I don't care if he isn't wealthy or isn't the most powerful man alive--all I ever wanted was someone to love me, someone I loved, someone like Luis. There you again Sheridan, thinking about Luis. Just admit--You came back for him.'

***FLASHBACK***

Luis: I can not believe that my best friend is going to leave me. Sheridan: I am only going to be gone for four years and then I will be back.. Hey, we can be pen pals. And besides, you will have Hank and Beth. You know she has a crush on you. Luis: Yeah I know. Sheridan: So what's the problem? Luis: She isn't you…..SO I guess this is good-bye? Sheridan: I guess so. Luis leaned in and gave Sheridan a soft and gentle kiss on the cheek. They said their good byes, both going there separate ways, and neither one looked back. That was the last time she saw and heard from Luis.

***END OF FLASHBACK***

"Sheridan, Sheridan," Ivy interrupted Sheridan's thoughts. "Oh hey Ivy. I didn't see you come in." "Thinking about Luis, aren't you? Sheridan blushed. She couldn't hide it. "Yeah, I am. How did you know?" "Because Sheridan, that is the same look I get when I think of Sam." Ivy always thought of Sheridan as a sister rather then just a sister-in-law. Even though Julian didn't know about Sam Bennett, Sheridan knew all of Ivy's secrets, including where Ivy spent her wedding night. "Well, Sheridan, it is already 7:00 am, You better leave soon or you will be late for your first day at Harmony High." "Yeah I know. I was just about to leave. Wish me Luck." With that Sheridan grabbed her book bag, flew downstairs and went out the door.

Luis' Bedroom
'I can't believe break is over with. Man, times sure flies by when you are having fun.' Luis was now thinking out loud. 'Fun? Life has been anything but fun. Ever since Sheridan left, I fell miserable. Four years are almost up, I wonder if Sheridan will come back to me. Oh come on Luis, get a hold of yourself. This is your senior year. You are the captain of the football and baseball team, and you are sure to be Prom King. But the one thing that is missing is a girlfriend. Why can't I just pick one? There are so many girls that are chasing you and wants to go out with you? I should just go out with Beth. No. Why can't I just be with Sheridan? Luis, Stop thinking about Sheridan. She is probably having an amazing time in the "city of Love." She probably won't even remember Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald.' "Luis, come on. We are going to be late for school," Theresa called up to her brother. Luis came downstairs and they left for school.

Chapter 2: Harmony High

"Hey Luis." Luis looked back and saw his best buddy standing behind him.. "Hey Hank, what's up?" "Nothing much. So you're here early. Its not even 7:30 yet and Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald is at Harmony high. "Yeah I know. Theresa wanted to talk to Ethan Crane before school started. She rushed me out of the house this morning." "Man, are you saying that Theresa still has a crush on Ethan? And here I thought that you were just checking out the babes." Hank turned around and hit Luis on the shoulder. "Speaking of babes. Wow! Luis, LOOK at that one there. What a bod!!

Luis and Hank were staring and drooling over this new goddess figure infront of them. Suddenly she turned around and caught the one of the boys staring at her. Luis and Hank for the first time were speechless. "Luis?" she asked innocently. "Sh---, Sh----, Sheridan? Is that you?" Luis asked as if he didn't know. 'Wow' was his only thought. He thought she looked amazing. She had beautiful blonde hair, just below the shoulders and her eyes were as blue as the ocean. He couldn't' take his eyes off of her. She was perfect--her hair, her eyes, and especially her body.

"Yeah, it's me. I am so happy to see you." She ran across the hall and jumped into Luis' arms, not even noticing Hank standing besides Luis. "Oh my God, Sheridan," Luis started to say as he was returning her hug and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "What are you doing back here?" "Well I decided to finish the last half of my senior here back in Harmony with the people I care about. Aren't you happy to see me?" Sheridan flashed him a smile.

"Are you kidding? This is the best day of my life. I missed you so much." Luis told her while spinning her around. "I missed you too." Sheridan and Luis just stared into each other eyes as if no one else were in the halls. Suddenly the bell rang. "I guess we should get to class," Luis said. "Um, Luis." "Yeah Sheridan?" "Can you tell me where Rm 129 is?" "129? Hey that's were I am going. Can I walk you to class?" Sheridan just smiled at Luis who took her hand, leaving a forgotten Hank behind. The first half of the day went really well for Sheridan. She had two classes with Luis. It was almost lunch time and she was supposed to meet Luis outside of Room 115.

She was about to turn the corner when she saw the back of Luis. He was talking to his sports buddies. 'Luis is lookin' fine this year. God did I miss him.' She was about to go up to him when she heard one of the guys mention her to Luis. "Hey Luis," Mark started. "So who was the blonde hottie." "Yeah Luis," Cameron egging on his buddies. "Who was she? You two seemed close in the hallway. I bet Beth would be jealous if she saw that."

***Sheridan***

With the mention of Beth's name, Sheridan's smiled turned upside down. She thought 'was Luis and Beth a couple. God, how could I been so blind? How could I have been so stupid to come back to Harmony just for Luis? Damn, I knew Beth liked him, but did he like her?' She couldn't listen anymore. She had to get out of here. She turned around and bumped right into Hank. "Oh hi Hank," "Hey Sheridan. I didn't think you would remember me since you ignored me before." He said being a little sarcastic. "Oh I'm sorry Hank. It's just that I saw Luis and it felt like Time stood still." "Yeah yeah. Luis has a way with the ladies." "I bet he does, especially with Beth." And with that statement she left Harmony High.
***Back to Luis and his buddies***

"Hey guys," Luis said. "The blonde hottie, well she has a name, and her name is Sheridan Crane…" Before Luis could finish is sentence, he was interrupted by Mark. "That was Sheridan. Man, did she fill out. Beth might have some competition with her." "Look," Luis was now getting angry. "Beth has no right getting jealous.. We aren't together. We never were together. I like Beth as a sister and that's it." "Hey sorry Luis. We didn't' mean to upset you, " the guys said. "Look, I'm sorry that I got angry but you guys don't understand. I liked Sheridan since I was in 8th grade, but then she moved to Paris.

Today was the first time I saw in her in the last four years. She is all I think about and I am not going to let anyone mess it--especially Beth." With that Luis left to go look for Sheridan. "Hey Luis" Hank called after him. "Hank, Have you seen Sheridan? "Yeah, she just left." "Left? Where did she go?" "I don't know. All I know is that I said that you had a way with the ladies and she said especially with Beth and then she left through those doors.

I'm sorry Luis but that's all I know." "Beth? Why would she mention her?" Luis now thinking back to the conversation with his buddies. "OH no?" "What? What is it? "She must have overheard the conversation. I have to go and find her." Luis left leaving a confused Hank standing in the middle of the hallway again. "Did I just miss something?" Hank asked himsef.

Chapter 3:

Sheridan's bedroom
As Sheridan left Harmony High and raced home, she couldn't stop thinking about Luis and Beth. 'How could I have been so stupid and so blind? To think, I came back from Paris for HIM.' Finally she reached her house and ran straight to her room. She threw herself on the bed and began sobbering. "Sheridan, Sheridan, Sheridan, Are you home?" Luis was now yelling through the house. Finally he reached the door to the room. He knocked. "Sheridan, Its me…Can I come in?" "Luis? Why are you here?"

"Well since you stood me up for our lunch date and after Hank told me that your ran out of Harmony High, I got worried and came looking for you. I checked the cottage first and you weren't there, so I decided to come to the main house." "First of all, I didn't mean to stand you up at lunch. Its just that I had a really hard day and I just needed time to think that's all." "Oh really and what did you need to think about?" "Just stuff." "Stuff? Sheridan--its your first day back. What could you possibly had to think about? Do you regret coming home? I mean, would you rather be in Paris, "the city of Love," than here in Harmony?" Luis asked hoping her answer would be No.

"No." She answered abruptly. "I mean no," she said in a softer voice. Yeah Paris is a beautiful city but it's not that exciting if you don't have that special person to share it with. Plus all the students at the boarding school were snobs. They only thing that they saw in a relationship was Money not Love. So, Paris wasn't that much fun for me because I didn't have anyone to share it with. It kind of got lonely over there." "Are you saying that the Miss beautiful Sheridan Crane didn't have a boyfriend?" Luis asked while flashing that killer smile. He knew he just embarrassed her by the color her cheeks were turning. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked that." "No, its ok. To tell you the truth, I didn't have a steady boyfriend.

I mean I dated people but my heart was some where else." 'Luis, it was with you,' was what she really wanted to say. "So Luis, are dating anyone?" She looked at him and then decided to add a name to that question. "Like Beth?" Luis now knew that she did overhear the conversation between him and the guys. Luis turned his body so he was facing Sheridan. He took her hand and held it tight. "No Sheridan, I am not dating Beth. Beth is like a sister to me. I could never imagine me dating Beth. I care for her but not in the way she cares for me." He said while starring deeply into her eyes.

"And to answer your question--I don't have a girlfriend. Like you, my heart was somewhere else too." 'in paris,' he thought to himself. "Wait let me get this straight. Mr.Stud doesn't have girlfriend? That is so hard to believe. I thought every girl would be after you. I mean, come on, you are the captain of the football and baseball team, and not to mention the sexiest guy in school. Luis blushed as Sheridan was rolling these words off her tongue. Sheridan also turned a shade of red when she mentioned the word "sexiest." "So you think I am sexy?" Luis asked her in his seductive voice.

Sheridan really didn't want to answer this question because she wasn't' ready to reveal her feelings for him. "Um, Luis. It's getting late. Why don't we head back to school." Luis knew that she was avoiding the question but he couldn't resist teasing her. "Not until you answer my question." She still didn't say anything. "Alright Sher, I guess then I will just have to tickle you until you say yes." Sheridan was ready to protest when Luis grabbed her and started to tickle her on the bed.. At last he stopped when she yelled "YES. Yes, I think you are sexy." Luis was pleased with himself. He got up and then helped Sheridan off the bed. "Well I guess we should head back to school. Are ready to go Sheridan?" "Yeah," she said smiling at him. Luis walked downstairs followed by Sheridan. They were out the door headed towards Harmony High.

Chapter 4:

The last two weeks flew by for sheridan. She woke up, went to school, worked at Pilar's restaruant, hung out with Luis, did her homework and then went to bed. Sometimes, if she was lukcy enough, she even worked at the restaurant with Luis. These last two weeks were great. She didn't remember when she had soo much fun. But the smile she woke up with finally faded when she heard some of her peers talking about a Sweethearts Dance. 'How cute. A sweethearts dance for Valentine's day,' she sadly thought.

Besides the Balls that she attended to with her family, she was never really asked to a dance. The one Ball she attended to in Paris, well, her family set-up her Date. She hardly counted that as a date. All through the halls, she heard the people talking about their dates for the dance, which was only a week and a half away. This day alone felt like two weeks. The seconds felt like minutes, the minutes felt like hours and the hours felt like days. She avoided Luis and Hank all day.

Since she thought that they had dates already, she didn't want Luis or Hank teading her or asking her if she had a date for the dance. As soon as the last bell rang, she got in her car and speeded home. She had an hour before she needed to get to work. 'Oh please God. Don't let Luis be at work today. I don't' care if Hank is there, but please NO Luis.' She went to her desk and decided to start her Pre-Calc homework. It was almost 4:00 so she hopped in her car and drove to work. 'Please no luis, please no Luis. Please no Luis.' She parked her car and went in. Sure enough , the first person she made eye contact with was Luis. 'Great. How can I avoid him now? Can my life get any worse? Just keep busy.' She smiled and walked right pass Luis to the back room to check in.

Chapter 5:

The restaurant was packed with people so work was really busy and hectic for Sheridan. But she didn't complain because it helped her avoid Luis and also kept her mind off the dance. It was almost 8:45 and Sheridans shift ends in fifteen minutes. 'I am so glad that Luis got off early. Now I can enjoy my last few minutes relaxing and not avoiding.' "Um Sheridan dear." "Yes Pilar." "You can go home now. Jen and Brent said that they will stay so you can go home and study for the Pre-Calc test." "Are you sure Pilar? I mean, I can stay--its not a problem." "Yes, I am sure. Go home and get an A tomorrow." "Ok Pilar. Thank you. I guess I will see you tomorrow afternoon at 4." "Night Sheridan." Sheridan gathered up her things and walked out of the restaurant to her car. "Sheridan." "Luis…what are you doing here?"

Chapter 6:

"Since I knew you got off at nine, I decided to wait around for you." "For me? Why?" "I haven't seen you around today at school. And then tonight at work, it seemed like you were avoiding me. I was wondering if I did something wrong. Did I Sheridan? I mean, Did I do something wrong? "No, Luis. You didn't do anything wrong. Now, if you would excuse me, I have to get home and study for the test." Sheridan started to walk towards her car. "Sher, wait. Why don't we go over to the book café and study together since we are in the same math class." "Um…" Sheridan didn't know what to say. If she said no, Luis would know that she was trying to avoid him.

"Alright Luis. That sounds great." "Ok…Well since your cottage is on the way to the book café, why don't we drop your car off and then I drive us to the book café--is that ok with you?" "Sure." "Ok , Lets go." They both got into their cars. Drove to Sheridan's house and then to the Book Café.

Chapter 7: The Book Cafe

Sheridan and Luis went into the Book Café carrying their Math books and supplies. "hey, why don't you grab that table over there while I go get us two mochas." "Sure Luis." 'Ugg.' Sheridan thought to herself. 'Why couldn't' you just say No. How do you expect to get any studying done now. You should have just lied to him by saying that you were tired. "Sheridan…Earth to Sheridan." Luis was now waving his hand in front of her eyes. Sheridan looked up at Luis and just smiled at him. "Sher, where were you just a minute ago? I was calling you name forever." "Oh sorry Luis. I was just thinking abou the test tomorrow. Are you ready to get started?" Luis sat down next to Sheridan and handed her the mocha. She smiled at him and he just smiled back.

To Sheridan's surprise, her and Luis finished what they needed to study. She really had a good time tonight. She felt comfortable around Luis. She looked down at her watch. "Oh my god." Luis looked over at her. "Sheridan, whats wrong?" "Luis, its almost midnight. The book café is going to close, and if we don't leave now--we will be locked in here alone." "And what so bad about that." Sheridan just blushed at Luis' comment. "I guess we should be heading home." Sheridan nodded in agreement. Luis and Sheridan gathered up their things and left. During the ride home, silence filled the car. Sheridan was looking out the window thinking about the dance, while Luis was thinking how he could ask Sheridan to the dance.

Both of them wanted to know what the other was thinking. Luis was the first to break the silence. "umm Sheridan." Yeah Luis?" "Do you mind if I put the radio on?" She shook her head no. Luis reached over and turned on the radio which was playing Breathe by Faith Hill. "God I love this song. If the lyrics were only true," Sheridan sadly said to herself, not realizing Luis heard her. Luis felt his heart was breaking. He hated seeing Sheridan upset..He thought, 'why can't she just tell me what's bothering her.' Then the car stopped at the main house Even though she wanted to avoid Luis, she didn't want this night to end. "Luis, I am staying at the cottage tonight, do mind dropping me off there?"

"Why aren't you staying at the main house?" "Well my brother Julian is throwning a party and they didn't want me to disturb it soo…" "Will you be alright at the cottage alone?" Sheridan coldn't help but laugh. "Yes Luis, I will be fine." "alright." Luis drove around back. Less then two minutes later, they were at the cottage. Luis stopped the car, got out, and walked over to Sheridan's side. He opened the door and walked her to the cottage. "Thanks Sher." "For what?" "Helping me study. We got a lot accomplished tonight. You are amazing!" "Hey what are best friends for?" They were just staring at each other. "Well its getting late, I should go in." Sheridan said.

Luis just smiled at her. He leaned down and gave a sweet kiss on the cheek. "Bye Sher." "Bye Luis." Sheridan went inside and locked the door. She went into the bedroom and got ready for bed. While she was doing that, Luis was just sitting in his car, debating on what to do. He really wanted to go with sheridan to the dance, but he didn't know how she felt. 'God luis. Get a hold of yourself. Just go and ask her.' He got out of his car, and went to Sheridan's door. He knocked unitl Sheridan answered. "Luis…what are you still doing here?" She stepped aside to let him in. He went to the couch and sat down. Sheridan sat beside him. "Ummm Sheridan….I really don't' how to say this." "just say it Luis. We are best friends. We can tell each other anything."

'Well almost anything,' she thought. "Do you believe that? Because if you do, then you can tell me whats been bothering you today?" "I already told you that Luis--I am worried about the test." She hated lying to Luis but what is she suppose to say 'I want you.' "I don't believe you. If I did, I wouldn't be here asking you again. Please Sheridan, tell me whats wrong." Luis was now begging her. "Luis, Nothing is wrong." Luis could tell that she was getting angry. "Alright. I'm sorry if I am making you mad. Its just that I care for you and I don't like seeing you upset. You can hide it from other people but I can see it in your eyes. You are hurting. I just wish you would tell me." Luis got up from the couch and walk to the door. "Luis wait. Please don't go." Luis turned around to face sheridan.

He could tell she wanted to cry so Luis went back over to the couch. "Luis, you were right. I was avoiding you." "But why?" "Well before I tell you, I want to know something first." Luis looked at her. "I want to know why you came back here tonight? You said you had to tell me something." "That can wait Sheridan. Please you go first." Sheidan started to tell Luis on how she felt embarrassed because everyone else had dates to the dance and she didn't want him or Hank teasing her because she didn't have a date. "But Sheridan, I don't have a date to the dance either." "You don't?" Sheridan felt like jumping for joy. "No, I don't. And that's the reason I came back here tonight. I wanted to know if you would go to the dance with me?"

Sheridan didn't know what to say or do for that matter. There was a huge smile on Sheridan's face. He continued, "You know that I don't have a girlfriend, and besides, who else would I take? You are my best friend." Sheridan didn't say anything. She just stared at him and smiled. "So, Sher, Are you going to give me an answer?" "Yes. I would love to go with you Luis." Sheridan hugged him and gave him a kiss on the check. After a few minutes, He pulled away and looked at her in disbelief. "Sher, why would you think that I would tease you about not having a date?" "I just didn't want you to think that I was a loser, you know the only person without a date." "Hey, I didn't have a date either--are you calling me a loser?"

"No, Luis, You aren't a loser. I am honored to go to the dance with the sexiest guy in school." "So you still think I am sexy?" "Hey Luis, lets not go there again…ok?" Luis laughed. "Well…ok. Anway, I guess I should be getting home before Mama calls the cops on me." Sheridan walked Luis to the door. He gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Night Sheridan." "Night." She closed the door and went to bed dreaming of Luis. Back at the Lopez-Fitzsgerald's house, Luis went up to his room and also got ready for bed. He climbed into bed. He fell asleep with a smile on his face, dreaming about the upcoming dance.

Chapter 8:

The last week was really busy for Sheridan. Even though she had plenty of dresses, she went shopping with Ivy to buy a new one. She just had to have a new one... This dance was different - she was going with someone she cared about. It is now the day of the dance. Sheridan couldn't wait. Luis called Sheridan at 9 am, and told her he would pick her up at 5:00. She didn't understand why he wanted to pick her up so early since the dance starts at 7:00. 'What is he up to?' she thought to herself. She didn't have time to think about that.

Ivy made arrangements at the beauty salon for Sheridan. She was getting her hair, make-up and nails done and not to mention a body wrap. 'Thank God the dance is on a Saturday, I needed the whole day to get ready,' sheridan laughed to herself. It was already 4:00 when she was done at the beauty salon, she she hopped in her car and headed home. Once she got home, she put on her dress and just made the last-minute-touch-ups on her make up. She put her jewerly on and some glitter on her shoulders, neck and back.

***Downstairs***

While Sheridan was getting ready for Luis, Luis arrived at the Crane Mansion. He walked up the drive way and knocked on the door. "Hello, Mrs. Crane." "Luis, please come in." Carrying two doses roses, Luis walked in the house wearing a black suit. "May I say that you look handsome tonight." "Thank you. I can't wait to see Sheridan." "If you will excuse me, I will tell her that you are here." With that, Ivy went up stairs.

***Sheridans Room***

"Sheridan, dear, There is a young gentlemen downstairs waiting for his Cinderella." "What! He is fifteen minutes early. I'm not ready yet. Look at me!" "Sheridan, you look amazing. Now, you better go downstairs before someone snatches your Prince Charming away." "Ivy" "Yes Sheridan." "Thank you so much for helping me with this dance. It really meant a lot to me." "Sheridan, you don't need to thank me. I wanted to help you. You are like a sister to me. I love you hunny." "I love you too." "Now, finish getting ready." Ivy went downstairs. "She will be down in a minute, Luis." "Ok." 'I will wait forever for her.'

Minutes later, Sheridan came down the stairs wearing a long fitted black dress-- taking Luis' breath away. "Wow," was the only thing that came out of his mouth. "So I take it that you approve of my attire?" "Sheridan. Wow. Your dress is gorgeous." "Well, thank you Luis. You don't look too bad yourself." "Here, these are for you." Luis handed the roses to Sheridan. She blushed while taking the roses out of Luis' hands. "Thank you Luis. They are beautiful." "Not as beautiful as you." Luis and Sheridan just smiled at each other. Ivy insisted on getting some pictures of them. They took the pictures then Luis led Sheridan out of the door. Once outside, Luis led her to the car. "Oh my God, Luis--you shouldn't have." Right in front of her was a white-stretched limo. "So I take it you like one of my surprises?" "One?" "Well, I already said to much. You ready to get going, Ms. Crane?" "Yes." They took their seat in the limo and drove to their next destination.

Chapter 9:

Surprise number two was dinner at the Seascape Restaurant. Almost all through dinner, neither one of them said a word. They were each having there own conversation with themselves, not realizing that the whole time they were thinking, they were also staring at one another.

****Sheridan****

I can't believe how sweet Luis is. He thought of everything from flowers to the limo and dinner. I wonder what other suprises he has in store for me. I hope this night ends with a good night kiss. Geez, Sheridan-get a hold of yourself. He is only being a gentleman. He would do this for any girl. You aren't that much different. He even said it: who else would he take--you are his best friend. Well, at least you know he isn't interested in anyone. Maybe I still have hope. Yeah right.

****Luis***

God, I can't believe how beautiful and sexy Sheridan looks tonight. The dress was made for her body. I hope she is enjoying her suprises. There are still two more suprises: the walk on the beach and hopefully a good night kiss. I wonder if she is getting the hint that I like her. Nah, she probably only sees me as a friend, a best friend. Hey, you know what they say--friends make the best lovers. Give it a rest, Luis. She will never fall for you. The waiter came over to the table unnoticed by Luis and Sheridan. "Hey love birds." "Um yeah," Luis started to say breaking eye contact with Sheridan "Will there be anything else?" The annoyed waiter asked them. "Um No, No, just the check please," Luis whispered. The waiter headed Luis the check. He paid the bill and excorted Sheridan to the limo. Next stop: The sweetheart dance at Harmony High.

Chapter 10:

Luis and Sheridan arrived at Harmony High. They walked in the gym and were in awe. They couldn't believe how the the gym was transformed into a beautiful ballroom. There were balloons and flowers at every round table. Luis noticed that the photographer was at the other end of the gym. "Hey Sheridan, why don't we get our picture taken now so we have the rest of the night to ourselves." "Alright Luis." Luis took Sheridan's hand into his and they started to walk to the back of the gym but Hank and Beth stopped them. "Hey buddy. Hi Sheridan." "Hey Hank, Beth," Luis acknoweldged them while Sheridan just smiled. "So, I take it that you brought Beth to the dance?" "Yeah, since we both didn't have a date, we decided to go together." While Luis and hank were talking, Sheridan was looking at beth while Beth was admiring Luis. Luis noticed how uncomfortable Sheridan was around Hank and Beth. "Well guys, if you will excuse us, Sheridan and I are going to get our picture taken." Luis and Sheridan continued to the back of the gym. They took several pictures. The last one was Sheridan's favorite: they were facing each other, Luis' hands on her hips and Sheridan's hand were resting on Luis’ broad chest. 'Luis smells so good. I can't wait for the slow songs.'

'God, when I was holding Sheridan, I just wanted to kiss her. I wonder if she feels the same way. Well, there is only one way to find out.' "Hey Sheridan, would you mind waiting right here, I have to go and take care of something." "Luis, is something wrong?" "No Sheridan, I just need to take care of something. I promise I will be back in a minute." "Ok Luis. I will wait right here." Sheridan pulled a seat out at the table and waited for Luis to come back. Meanwhile, Luis went up to Sam Bennett who was the D.J. at the dance. "Hey Sam, I was wondering if you can play a song." "Sure Luis…What's the song?" "Crash and Burn by Savage Garden." Sam nodded at Luis reguest.

"Oh and Sam, can you dedicate it to someone." "Sure Luis. The next song will be for you and Sheridan. Now, Go and find her before other guys ask her to dance." Luis left and headed back to the table. Sam watched Luis searced for Sheridan. Once he reached her, Sam spoke, "This next song goes out to a special lady--Sheridan Crane this song was requested by Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald." The song began.< When you feel all alone and the world has turned its back on You. Sheridan turned around to find Luis there. "May I have this dance?" Luis led Sheridan to the dance floor. They held each other tight while getting washed away into each others eyes.

Give me a moment please to tame your wild wild heart
I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you
It's hard to find relief and people can be so cold
When darkness is upon your door and you feel like you can't take anymore

Let me be the on you call
If your jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

When you feel all alone
And a loyal friend is hard to find
You're caught in a one way street
With the monsters in your head
When hopes and dreams are far away and
You feel like you can't face the day

Let me be the on you call
If your jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

Because there has always been heartache and pain
And when its over you'll breathe again
You'll breathe again

When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please
To tame your wild wild heart

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

Even when the song ended, Luis held Sheridan tightly against his body. "Luis, I love you." She whispered soflty into his neck. 'Good going Sheridan. I can't believe I just said that out loud. Now you not only lost the guy you like but also your best friend.' 'YES, She feels the same way. This has to be the best night of my life.' "I love you too Sheridan." Sheridan was shocked that he said it back. She slowly pulled away looked up at him. "You do?" "Yes. Now, can you please stop talking or do I need to shut you up?" Luis chuckled. He cupped Sheridan's face into his hands and kissed her with all the passion that has building up in him for the last four years.

Sheridan returned his kiss with equal force. "Luis," Sheridan said as she broke away. "We need to talk about this. This changes a lot." "Sheridan." Luis said while placing soft kisses on her lips. "We can talk about this later. Lets just enjoy the rest of the dance. Sound good?" "Yes Luis. I wouldn't want anything more." Sheridan and Luis spent the rest of time dancing and cherishing the memories that they were making. Sheridan and Luis snucked out of the dance early and headed to their next destination--the beach.

Chapter 11:

The limo came to a stop. Luis helped Sheridan out of the limo and handed her a pair of sneakers. "Here, put these on." Sheridan took the sneakers from Luis. " Geez, luis, you thought of everything, didn't you?" Luis flashed her his killer smile. "Come on." Luis took Sheridan's hand and started walking down to the ocean. Luis took her to a secluded little place on the beach where a beach desert picnic was waiting for her. It included her favorite deserts, candles, apple cider(since they aren't old enough for wine hehe), and a little portable radio for music. "You did think of everything. This is so beautiful Luis. I love it." Sheridan reached over to Luis and gave him a small but long kiss on the cheek. "But I have a question for you Luis" "Hmmm?" "Why did you go to all this trouble for me?" "Isn't the answer obvious? I mean after that kiss we shared and those three little words we shared, I thought it was obvious." "Well, Luis, why don't you remind me?" Sheridan whispered.

Luis placed one hand on her face and the other one around her waist. He pulled her closer and whispered, "Because I am crazy about you." He began playing with her hair. "I never felt this way about anyone else. I was afraid because I didn't know if you felt the same way. So I had to come up with a plan to make you realize that I care for you. I love you Sheridan. When you left I felt empty inside. I was not myself, I felt something was missing. I was missing you. I know it sounds stupid because we were only in 9th grade at the time, but that is how I felt. I should have told you before you left how I really felt. I'm sorry for taking our years to say these things to you." "Luis, shh…" Sheridan placed her index finger on his lips. He kissed it. "Don't be sorry. I had the same feelings. I was just too afraid to admit them too. Luis, I have a confession to make. The reason I came home from boarding school is because I wanted to be with you. I came home for you.

Every guy that asked me out, well, I compared them to you. That's why I really never had a real boyfriend. I didn't think it was fair of me to lead them on if my heart wasn't in the relationship. To be perfectly honest, my heart also belonged to you, even if you never wanted it, it was yours." She stopped and took a deep breath. "Luis, I love you with my whole heart and soul. And that is what scares me." Luis can see tears in her eys. "If it makes you feel any better," Luis started to say while wiping the tears away. "I am scared too. I mean, you are my best friend. I don't want to loose what we have but I don't want to regret it if we didn't' try. I messed up once, and I don't plan to mess up again. This time I am going to do this right. I am not going to hold anything back." He lowered his hand so his lips would meet hers. He planted soft, slow kisses at first, but the kisses were becoming faster with more passion.

By Sheridan returning Luis' kiss told him that she wanted a relationship. Luis pulled away first and walked over to the radio. He push 'play' and the song began. Sheridan recongnized the song that he played. It was Faith Hill's Breathe--the same song that was playing when Luis drove her home a few weeks ago. "Ms. Crane, would you do me the honor?" Luis extended his hand and she gladly accepted it.

I can feel the magic floatin' in the air
Being with you gets me that way
I watch the sunlight dance across your face and I , oh, I've
Never been this swept away.

All my thoughts just seem to settle on the breeze
Whem I'm lying wrapped up in your arms
The whole world just fades away, the only thing I hear
Is the beating of your heart

And I can feel your breathe, its watching over me
Suddenly, I melting into to you
There's nothing left to prove, baby all we need is just to be
Caught up in the touch, the slow and steady rush
And baby, isn't that the way that love supposed to be
I can feel you breathe
Just breathe

In a way I know my heart is waking up
As all the walls come tumblin down
Closer than I've ever felt before and I know and you know
There's no need for words right now.

And I can feel your breathe, its watching over me
Suddenly, I melting into to you
There's nothing left to prove, baby all we need is just to be
Caught up in the touch, the slow and steady rush
And baby, isn't that the way that love supposed to be
I can feel you breathe
Just breathe

I can feel the magic floatin' in the air
Being with you gets me that way

The song ended and Luis was still holding Sheridan tight. Luis let go and they sat on the blanket. "So, Sher, do you still think these lyrics are false?" "Oh god, you heard me in the car?" Sheridan said biting on her lower lip. Luis nodded. "Well you see, this song reminded me of you. And at that time, we weren't together. Actually we aren't together now." She stopped. "I mean, umm.." "Sher, we are together." "Are we Luis. Because I don't remember you asking me out, I mean how would you catorgorize this relationship?" Luis could tell that Sheridan was confused at relationships maybe even frightened on how far they would get. "Ms. Sheridan Crane, would you like to go out with the sexiest guy in Harmony?" Luis asked. "You want me to go out with Hank?" Sheridan chuckled. "OH, now you did it." Luis grabbed Sheridan around the waist, pushed her down on the blanket, and started tickling her.

"Please Luis stop. Stop Luis." "Not until I get the answer I want to hear." "Umm. Let me think about it." She said between her screams. "Ok. Ok. Of course I will go out with you. You think I came back to Harmony for nothing?" Luis stopped tickling Sheridan. "Well, now that that's resolved, why don't we start dessert--I got your favorite--Chocholate Cheesecake." Luis and Sheridan finished their dessert. They danced and kissed a little more. Time flew by so fast that they didn't even realized it was 1:00 in the morning. "Oh Luis, I think we should call it a night. It is already 1:00." "Yeah Maybe you're right. We will have the rest of our lives to stay up late." He flashed her a devishly smile. "Come on, I will take you home." Luis led her to the limo. They got in and drove off. Next stop: The cottage.
