Summary: I wrote this after thinking about the episode from Friday, May 12, 2000 at the end, when Sheridan is looking through Julian's desk. Its pretty much w/ her finding the mask and junk...everything we've all been
waiting for months. Hope you enjoy and write back w/ feedback!!!
"I'm sure there's a pen here somewhere! I need to write a note to Pilar to have the maids clean my cabin!" Sheridan said to Ethan as she dug
through her brother, Julian's desk. "You know, Sheridan, I was thinking..." Ethan trailed off. He looked at his aunt, whom he knew was in so much pain from what had happened with Luis. She hid it well tonight, but he knew she was beating herself up for falling in love with him. "What about, Ethan?" She questioned her nephew as she continued searching through the drawers. "Oh just that I always thought that whole thing with Luis was too good to be true. He seemed way too nice, almost perfect. I knew deep down it had to be an act...Nobody acts like that without a motive..."
He wasn't able to finish
when his aunt cut him off with a high pitched scream.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?" Sheridan shrieked. In her hand, which was now trembling, was a mask that greatly resembled Luis. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?" Sheridan screamed again, only this time it was much louder.
"What?! What is the matter?" Ivy yelled as she raced into the library, fearing something horrible had happened, with Pilar right behind her. By this time tears were running down Sheridan's cheeks, and she seemed to be in a state of shock with her latest discovery. "I don't know Mother, but it seems Sheridan found a mask of Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald's face. How could this be?" "Ivy! Do you know anything of this"
Pilar questioned her boss and friend, with a trace of anger in her voice. Why would her friend try to sabotage her son? Ivy stood smiling slightly, realizing Julian had FINALLY been caught in the act. And now Sheridan and Luis would have a chance at love, the chance she and Sam had lost all those years ago. "Well, I can explain. You see Sheridan
darling, Julian and Alastair never approved of your and Luis's relationship, as we all very well know. Your father decided that the only way to pull
the two of you apart was to make you believe Luis had used you, just as all those other men had.
They hired an imposter to make you believe that he was, in fact, just using you. He was the one you heard on the wharf that night, not Luis! I'm sorry, I would've told you, but Julian threatened to do something to Ethan...He's the only one that matters to me, I couldn't let him get hurt." She looked around the room, from the now sitting and silently crying
Sheridan, to her cherished son Ethan, to Pilar. Pilar's face could not be read and Ethan still seemed to be processing all the information. Sheridan was the one who spoke up first. "Ivy, I believe you. Thank you
for trying to protect Ethan, I know how much he means for you...Pilar, don't worry, I'm going to get your son back. I need some time to think though.
"With that, she walked out of the room. Pilar took one last look at Ivy and left the Crane mansion, for the last time. "I don't understand how I could be related to such a horrible man!"
Ethan exclaimed. His mother gave him a pitiful stare before taking him in her arms. "Ethan darling, we need to talk..." With that, she told him her story and who his father actually was. He seemed upset, of course, but after considering Julian, realized it was better that way. He later broke up with Gwen and confessed to Theresa his feelings for her (sorry, my other fantasy is for Ethan to dump that b**** Gwen once and for all!!!)
As for Sheridan, she sat outside of her cottage, waiting for her cab to come. As she sat, she thought of Luis, and how everything was finally falling into place. She reached into her bag, pulled out her cell phone, and called the Boston police. After speaking to Tina about 5 other cops, they finally agreed to release Luis. She begged them not to do it until she arrived, using her Crane name as a final push. They agreed, and she set off for Boston.
A few hours later:
Boston Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald, you are free to go. The charges have been dropped, you
can return home and to work. Thinking that it had been Sam that had gotten him out, he didn't pay much attention to the person at the desk. "Thanks, man. I just need to call Mama and tell her that I'm coming home. I'll be right back." He turned to flash his buddy a smile, only to have it turn into a stare of shock discovering it was Sheridan Crane he was smiling at. "Sheridan. What are you doing here?" He sounded very surprised to see her, and maybe happy? "I thought you went back to Harmony with Hank?" "I did, but I came back to tell you something. We need to talk Luis." She was scared to death of what he was thinking, but staring into his deep brown eyes
made her want to melt. How anybody could be so amazing, so incredible, was beyond her.
By now, Luis had remembered it was Sheridan that had put him there in the first place. "What is it Sheridan?" He asked with a cruel tone in his voice. "What? Did you come here to yell at me again? Tell me to stay away from you? Slap me across the face again!? What Sheridan, why are you here?" He was clenching his fists in anger, trying to hold back his anger as much as possible. His angry words make Sheridan think twice about her motive, but she knew she needed to tell him the truth. In a small voice heavy with tears, she
replied, "Luis, please. Let me just get a few words in. I really need to tell you something about us."
His voice and face softened at this, knowing he had been the one to make her voice so sad. "I'm sorry, Sheridan. I've just noticed how bad things have been with us, lately. What did you want to say?" By this time, the two were outside, going to Sheridan's rental car. She unlocked their doors, and they drove off.
"I was thinking we could stay at a hotel tonight? We both just need to get some sleep. Besides, we should talk in private, without Julian or Alastair spying on us or playing more tricks on us" Sheridan said to Luis as she drove down the deserted road. "What do Julian and Alastair have to do with this? And what do you
mean, spying and playing tricks?" Luis asked, immediately morphing into police mode.
This whole thing confused him, especially why Sheridan was being so civil to him for the first time in weeks. He wasn't about to question her about it though; he enjoyed her being so sweet to him. Besides, she
looked so beautiful, when she was smiling; he didn't want to ruin it. When they arrived at a hotel, they got a room and some food to eat. There was only one room left, so they took it, even though there was only one bed in it as well (soap operas are so predictable! Hehe) Luis sat down on the bed while Sheridan paced in front of him, trying to figure out how to word things
correctly. Finally, Luis got up and grabbed her arm, forcing her to stop and stand looking into to his warm brown eyes. "Sheridan, just tell me the truth.
What is going on?" His voice was so pleading, she couldn't resist anymore. She blurted out the
whole truth in what seemed like one breath. When she finished, he stood there in silence for a few moments, just looking at her and thinking of what she had told him. Finally he broke the silence. "So you thought I used you? That's why you left Harmony?" He took a step closer to her, and brushed his fingers through her golden hair. "Sheridan, you have to know. I would
never use you" Sheridan cut him off, "I know, Luis, I know that now. But when I saw the imposter, I thought otherwise. But I know now I was wrong." With this
last part, she took his hand in hers and held it tight.
He opened his other arm wide and she stepped in, hanging onto him for dear life. They stood in a tight embrace for a while, tears streaming down Sheridan's face. When they pulled apart, Luis lightly brushed away her tears. "Sheridan, I have to know. Why did it hurt you so much when you thought I had
said those words? I mean, why did they upset you enough to leave Harmony for Paris? Exactly what do I mean to you?" He knew the answer, or at least
hoped he did. He hoped she was in love with him, because he knew he was in love with her. She took a shaky breath and then responded, "I've never really been good with words. Maybe I should show you." Her arms were still around him, and she curled her hands around his neck.
And she kissed him with all the passion she had been holding back the last few months, from the moment she met Luis, the moment she knew she loved him. He responded hungrily, wrapping his arms around her and deepening the kiss. Sheridan ran one hand through his hair, while the other one stroked up and down his back, sending shivers
through his whole body. His arms were wrapped tightly around her back, and she was pressed up against him as close as she could be. She kept on letting out low moans and sighs, which only made Luis want her more.
When they finally pulled apart, her lips were swollen from the kiss and his eyes were black with desire.
After breathing in just enough air to satisfy
their thirsty lungs, they were kissing again, passionately, neither wanting to stop. They tumbled back onto the bed and wrestled with their clothes,
desperately trying not to separate their lips from the heavy kisses. They finally succeeded, and proceeded to make love. The whole time, not a single word was spoken. Both were afraid it was too good to be true, and if they spoke, they'd wake up from this wonderful dream. And it was the last thing either wanted.
THE END...FOR NOW!
