Chapter 1:
“Sheridan I can’t be with you” Luis looked at Sheridan sadly, tears
threatening his demeanor.
“Why the hell not Luis?” Sheridan didn’t bother to hide her tears as
she flopped down on the
chair in his office. “Because Sheridan, it’s too complicated and there
are too many things in our
way” He looked tired as if he’d been trying to fix this for hours in
his head. “Luis, if you love me
then it would be worth it to overcome all of the things to keep us from
being together.” She was
exasperated from arguing her point. “Sheridan all Im saying is that it
will take a lot to convince
me that we can do it. I love you and I want to be with you but I just
don’t realistically see it
happening” he kissed her softly on the lips.
“Will you be my date to
the dance still?” she asked
hopefully referring to the Youth Center’s Last Summer Fling dance later
that week. “Yes I will! I
love you Sheridan” he smiled. “I love you too Luis and I will find a
way to convince you that we
can be together no matter what. I gotta go” She bounded out of the
youth center, looking for
Theresa, Whitney, and Gwen. She walked into the book café and spotted
Theresa and Whitney
whispering and Gwen looking at a bridal magazine. She walked over to
Gwen. “Gwen I need
you to come here” She followed Sheridan to Theresa and Gwen who
immediately stopped
whispering.
“Hey Sheridan, what’s up?” Whitney asked. “I need all of
you three to help me out
with something” She had a wishful look on her face. Her eyes were
begging. “What do you need
us to do?” Gwen asked. “Well I guess I have to explain a few things
first.” She sat and they all
followed suit. “ Luis and I have been seeing each other pretty
seriously for the past month or so
and now he wants to break it off because, and I quote what he said a
few days ago and today ‘it’s
too complicated and there are too many things in our way’ and also he
said he was worried about
the Cranes and not being able to give me the life I deserved. I have to
convince him we can
overcome all of that and I have 3 days to prepare what I have in mind.
Are you all in?” Everyone
sat and stared in utter amazement. “IN” all three chorused at the same
time. “Great! Now all I
have to do is make one call...be right back” she picked up the phone
and walked away.
_-5 minutes later-_
“Ok guys great! Meet me at the Warehouse Dance Theater tomorrow morning
at 9:00 am. Wear
pants and tank tops and tennis shoes! Hair up please” she said smiling,
off to buy a CD
Everyone else dispersed to go get their stuff ready for tomorrow, none
knowing what they had let
their blonde friend talk them into.
_-Next Day at Theater-_
Sheridan walked into the large 6th story studio she had rented for the
day. With its wood paneled
floors and full length mirror walls she got a sense of excitement for
her plan. The door opened
and Gwen ambled in looking sleepy and holding a VERY tall Latte then a
chipper Theresa and
serene Whitney. All were dressed respectfully and Sheridan was
definitely the most prepared in
the group.
Her hair tied back in a bandanna and wearing black pants,
Nike sneakers and a blue
belly tank top that had jewels in the shape of the superman emblem she
welcomed the others and
told them to stretch and watch her as she displayed the dance she had
choreographed the night
before. They all watched in awe as she did the dance worthy of MTV.
“Where did you learn to
do that Sheridan?” Theresa asked. “Here and there, but I guess now I
should let you all in on the
plan...” she said a mischievous glint in her eye. They all shook their
heads yes. She sat down
next to them and told them about the plan.....

Chapter 2:
After a day of teaching and learning the steps Sheridan decided step
one was complete and she
was damn proud of herself and her dancers. “Dinner, girls?” they all
said yes and headed off to
the pizza parlor exhausted but better friends from the experience and
giggling at the originality
of Sheridan. Once seated in the parlor Sheridan expelled a sigh and
took a sip of her iced tea.
“What Sheridan?” Theresa asked, brows creasing at the apprehensive look
on her face. Then
Theresa relaxed as Sheridan broke out smiling “Phase two!” They all
rolled their eyes.
“More of
that?” Gwen asked referring to the grueling rehearsal they had earlier.
“No. Tomorrow meet me
at Harmony Recording Studio. Room one” Then their vegetarian pizza
came. They were all
chowing down when there was a noise from the door and a corner of the
bar. Sheridan glanced
away from her plate to see a few middle school girls ooh-ing and ah-ing
at some guys who had
walked in. Sheridan pointed and they waited for the 5 guys to turn.
When they did turn Sheridan
got up and Gwen Theresa and Whit followed. Sheridan led them to the
guys and put a hand on
Luis’s face and kissed him full out on the lips. He responded and just
as she felt his tongue on
her lips she pulled back. Ethan Bennett, Chad, and Rourke just laughed
until their girlfriends did
the same thing.
Theresa laid into Ethan, Whit to Chad and Gwen kissed
Rourke. Then they all
turned with a word and headed to their pizza.
Not very soon after the middle school showed up at their table. The
leader, a tall blonde with
long hair and blue eyes glared Sheridan down. “Hey! We saw those guys
first! We got dibs on
them!”the little girl fussed. “Especially the first one!” she added in
a dreamy tone. Sheridan
whispered something to Theresa who passed it to Gwen who shook her
smiling and passed it to
Whitney who laughed. “Well sweetie” Sheridan said softly “those are OUR
boyfriends but since
you like them so much we might be inclined to share. So pick your guy
from our guys and lets
get you a kiss.”
Sheridan smiled. She felt just brilliant! The ideas
didn’t stop this week. The little
girls huddled and then the first one spoke. “Ok I get the first one!”
the girl said. Sheridan
extended her hand. “He’s mine, so follow me. What about the rest of
you?”
A doe eyed girl in pink with long dark hair said “I want the blonde one
in the sweater” Theresa
stood up and put a hand on the girls shoulder. “I want the fly guy in
the phat necklace with the
headphones” she pointed. Whitney stood and smiled at the girls teal
tennis skirt. That left the
other blonde with too much lip gloss and stick thin dishwater blonde
hair. “I want the brown
haired one in the red jacket.”
Gwen took her hand and they all headed
over to the guys table,
who were talking about the camping trip they were going to go on after
the dance.
“Ahem” Rourke said alerting the guys that their women were standing
near them.
“What’s up babe?” Luis asked Sheridan, noticing that each of them was
holding the hand of a
girl who looked eerily like he suspected younger versions would look.
“It seems when we kissed earlier, some other girls here had seen you
first and now they want
their kisses too” She grinned wickedly at Luis. “You gotta be kidding”
Ethan piped in. “Not at
all hon!” Theresa laughed. Chad rolled his eyes pleading with Whit who
mocked his look
sarcastically. Rourke just looked plain confused. All the little girls
went to the guy they liked.
Each girl got her kiss on the cheek except the one who looked like
Sheridan. She stood there
staring at Luis until one of her friends pushed her forward, shaking
her from whatever trance she
was in. As Luis leaned down to kiss her precious little cheek she
snapped into flirt mode and
looked up just as he was ready to kiss her and she planted her lips on
his. He jumped back, eyes
wide was shock. This kid was what, 13, and what the hell possessed her
to... “Call me, hunk” she
winked and then all her friends and her ran out of the parlor laughing.
Luis ran a hand over his
mouth. Ick. Sheridan had ruined him for life. She was the only woman he
wanted to kiss.
Sheridan and her posse paid their bill and started to leave when as if
she remembered something
Sheridan darted to Luis table and planted a passionate kiss on his
lips. “Call me, stud” she
winked and her and her friends ran out of the parlor giggling. What did
she have up her sleeve?

Chapter 3:
Practically everyone in Harmony was wondering why Theresa Gwen Whitney
and Sheridan were
doing having lunch sent in to various private sessions, having dinner
together and making
spectacles like at the pizza place. There was plenty of speculation
about how odd they were
acting and Whitney told Sheridan so the next in the recording studio.
“All right! Then they’ll all
be super impressed when they see what we’ve done! And all for the good
officer!” They laughed
and began their day in That studio, doing something totally different
than the day before.
Once
again the experience bonded them and Sheridan led them out to dinner.
This time she said they
should all go home and dress up and meet her at the seascape to plan
phase 3 to be pulled off
tomorrow, along with scheduling a HUGE practice before dropping the
bomb on Luis.
_-_-_AT SEASCAPE_-_-_
Sheridan showed up last wearing a short black strapless mini dress with
a grey sweater tied
around her shoulders and strappy sandals. Theresa was wearing a red
tube dress with beads and
Whitney had on the same dress in blue green. Gwen had on brown suede
suit that Sheridan
thought was just a bit distasteful but hey...whatever works. They sat
down and ordered salads
and Sheridan told them to meet her at the cottage the next day 3 hours
before the dance to pick
up their surprises. Everyone chatted and giggled and were expectant of
tomorrow night and the
dance where they would rock Harmony to it’s conventional quaint core.
Sheridan left first wanting to catch up on sleep and finish their
surprises.
_-_-_COTTAGE_-_-_
Sheridan sat Indian style in the floor of the cottage each overstuffed
chair and the couch
cluttered with the baskets for Gwen Theresa and Whitney. Then there
were the contents of hers
in her room. She sighed and fell asleep, thinking about how Luis would
react...this HAD to
convince him to stay with her. It had to! They had all worked too hard
for it not to. She dreamed
of the scene until a loud knock shook her. Looking up she realized
she’d spent the night in the
floor. And it was 3:00! Whoa! She thought scooting to the door and
standing to open it.
As
expected it was Theresa Gwen and Whit. “Hey guys come in. Gwen, left
wing chair, Theresa
right wing chair and Whitney couch....” They went and saw their
baskets. “Oh! This is SO
sweet!” Theresa swooned. “Sweet, maybe. But necessary! This is what
you’ll be wearing tonight
and it’ll take all 3 hours to put on what’s in the bag.” She pointed to
a bag near Whitney’s
basket. They all opened their bags and were amazed at what Sheridan had
chosen. It wasn’t quite
her style (they didn’t think) But more like that of Christina
Aigulera’s but they all wondered
what could possible 3 hours to put on.
“Sheridan what’s in the bag?”
Gwen asked. Sheridan
smiled widely remembering why she was up so late doing the baskets.
Because it had taken HER
an hour and a half to do her own. She pulled up the red t-shirt she was
wearing just above her
belly button revealing a design of flowers and vines painted on her
stomach and outlined in tiny
jewels of different colors of green. Gwen gasped. “You’ll wear normal
clothes to the dance to
hide these” sheridan pointed to her bejeweled torso “And change before
the ‘surprise’” Theresa
and Whitney and Gwen all pulled their shirts up and tied them a little
higher than where
Sheridan’s was.
As they put a big sunshine around gwen’s belly with
cascading rays of red
Whitney dug through her bag for the appropriate beads to cover her own
stomach. Theresa
helped Sheridan on Gwen and looked at Whitney who smiled. She was being
normal for once!
Whitney had a blue and silver design on her’s and then came Theresa,
who ended up pulling her
shirt off so they could put a line of pink and yellow jewels straight
down her. They took their
costumes and headed to the youth center.

Chapter 4:
The dance was beautiful and Sheridan eyed the gym carefully looking
for Luis. When he saw her
he smiled and walked over. He took her in his arms and kissed her hard.
She licked her lips
when the kiss was finished, smiling. “Yummy! I have a surprise for you
later officer...And if you
still don’t want to make us work after that, then I guess it’ll be
over.” She arched an eyebrow,
and Luis looked at his feet upset he couldn’t give her the life she
deserved. She didn’t know it
but close to nothing would change that fact. Everything came to life as
Chad spun the tunes and
people danced, filling up the gym with laughter and love.
All the while
4 girls had their minds on
the stroke of 10:00 p.m. Sheridan and Luis were dancing slowly, his
hands a little lower than she
would have liked the kids to see. At 9:45 she broke free of his arms
and walked out of the dance.
Luis was confused but didn’t follow. Whitney Gwen and Theresa snuck out
unnoticed moments
later, and the song ended leaving Rourke Luis Ethan dateless.
Chad dimmed the lights leaving the middle of the gym lit up. “Aight ya
’ll this here is a little
surprise for someone in this room, but I’d say ‘bout half uh Harmon’s
gonna be shocked. So
without further ado... ladies...”
The music pumped and Sheridan walked
in the gym first looking
flirtatiously hot in a pair of tight low slung lime leather pants and a
jeweled T-Shirt way up high,
revealing that belly of hers, painted and sparkling. Then came Gwen
wearing red shorts and a
red ballet neck shirt with yellow twirls, matching her sunshine on her
stomach. Theresa and
Whitney followed, Theresa wearing a jumpsuit unzipped way low revealing
corners of a yellow
lace bra and a line of jewels and Whitney wearing a teal skirt and
shimmering silver top. Then
all at once they stomped 5 times and the music started. They were
gyrating and dipping, kicking
and turning and shaking in ways that elicited screams from the crowd.
Sheridan’s voice, like an
angels, wafted throughout the room, hitting Luis like a ton of bricks,
and suddenly, listening to
the words, looking at the dance, he realized she had him good.
Hmm, he-he
Oh, hey
Doesn't matter (It doesn't matter)
Doesn't matter at all
Doesn't matter what your friends are telling you
Doesn't matter what my family's saying too
It just matters that I'm in love with you
It only matters that you love me too
It doesn't matter if they won't accept you
I'm accepting of you and the things you do
Just as long as it's you
Nobody but you, baby, baby
My love for you, unconditional love too
Gotta get up, get up
Get up, get up, get up and show you that it...
1 - Doesn't really matter what the eye is seeing
Cause I'm in love with the inner being
And it doesn't really matter what they believe
What matters to me is you're in love with me
Doesn't really matter what the eye is seeing
Cause I'm in love with the inner being
And it doesn't really matter what they believe
What matters to me is you're nutty-nutty-nutty for me
2 - (You're so kind)
Just what I asked for, you're so loving and kind
(And you're mine)
And I can't believe you're mine
Doesn't matter if you're feeling insecure
Doesn't matter if you're feeling so unsure
Cause I'll take away the doubt within your heart
And show that my love will never hurt or harm
Doesn't matter what the pain we go through
Doesn't matter if the money's gone too
Just as long as I'm with you
Nobody but you, baby, baby
You're love for me, unconditional I see
Gotta get up, get up
Get up, get up, get up and show you that it...
Doesn't really matter what the eye is seeing
Cause I'm in love with the inner being
And it doesn't really matter what they believe
What matters to me is you're in love with me
Doesn't really matter what the eye is seeing
Cause I'm in love with the inner being
And it doesn't really matter what they believe
What matters to me is you're nutty-nutty-nutty for me
(You're so kind)
Just what I asked for, you're so loving and kind
(And you're mine)
And I can't believe you're mine
Doesn't matter what they say
Cause you know I'm gonna love you anyway
Doesn't matter what they do
Cause my love will always be with you
My love for you unconditional love too
Gotta get up, get up
Get up, get up, get up and show you that
My love is true, and it's just for you, uh
Doesn't really matter what the eye is seeing
Cause I'm in love with the inner being
And it doesn't really matter what they believe
What matters to me is you're in love with me
Doesn't really matter what the eye is seeing
Cause I'm in love with the inner being
And it doesn't really matter what they believe
What matters to me is you're nutty-nutty-nutty for me
Nutty-nutty-nutty my love for you
I can't believe my dreams come true
I've finally found somebody whose heart is true
And best of all you love me to
And nutty-nutty-nutty my love for you
I can't believe my dreams come true
I've finally found somebody whose heart is true
And best of all you're nutty-nutty-nutty for me
3 - Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Repeat 3 in background
Nutty-nutty-nutty my love for you
I can't believe my dreams come true (He-he)
I've finally found somebody whose heart is true
And best of all you're nutty-nutty-nutty for me
Nutty-nutty-nutty my love for you
(I'm always doing that!)
I can't believe my dreams come true
I've finally found somebody whose heart is true
And best of all you're nutty-nutty-nutty for me
Large blasts of confetti shimmering fell all over the room and Sheridan
walked over to Chad and
picked up a microphone. “I bet you were ALL wondering who this was for.
You wanna come up
here Luis?” He stepped up looking sheepish, but triumphant. “Did this
change your mind?” she
asked, eyes glittering with hope. “Yeah it did, honey.” He pulled her
into his arms and hugged
her tightly.
People were clapping, some crying at the sweet embrace. He
smiled down on her,
tears touching his own eyes, and kissed her deeply, but restricted.
Those who were clapping were
now screaming and making catcalls and those who were crying were
laughing and crying at the
same time. Sheridan reached up to Luis to deepen their kiss and she
dropped the microphone, the
thud echoing and the feedback screeching in their ears. She came back
to reality and held Luis’s
hand. “I love you Luis. No matter what” She said looking into his eyes
“No matter who” he
continued. “No matter why or where” He smiled and she spoke again.
“It worked!” she said, mostly to Theresa Whit and Gwen, who were all
with their men by now.
They came back to take a bow with Sheridan. After the excitement died
down, a slow song came
on. Everyone moved away from Sheridan and Luis to dance, but Chad
didn’t move the spotlight.
Pretty soon Sheridan and Luis were dancing in it, circled by people.
I love the way you speak, And I love the way you swear, I love the way
you walk in with your
head held in the air. I love the way your words move, I love the way
you drive, I love the way
your scared of people, Scared to be alive. Stay, yeah yeah yeah, stay
you oooh, And that's the
toughest thing to do.
And I love the way you dress up on Saturday
night, I love the you never
speak until it feels just right, I love the way you spend all your
money on yourself, I love the way
you answer your phone, pretend your someone else. Stay, yeah yeah yeah,
stay you oooh, And
that's the toughest thing to do. Stay, yeah yeah yeah, stay you oooh,
And that's the toughest thing
to do. Now I don't wanna talk about the things you overcame, By
dragging out th past, put you
through it all again, I've got the greatest admiration for they way you
got through it, Could not
ask nobody else to do better than you do it. Stay, yeah yeah yeah, stay
you oooh, That's the
thoughest thing to do.
Stay, yeah yeah yeah, stay you oooh, Now that's
the toughest thing to do
“I’m nutty for you, Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald” Sheridan sighed against his
chest. “And Im nuttier for
you. You really DID do a great job tonight... not to mention you look
incredibly sexy” He ran his
hands down her back.
“Thank you, but I’d really enjoy getting out of
this outfit and taking off
these” she pointed to her stomach. “Can I help? I mean help you get out
of that outfit?” He
raised an eyebrow suggestively. “Sure thing officer...then we can order
pizza watch a movie and
cuddle” She deliberately ignored his insinuation. ‘Gee’ she thought
‘these fan fic writers sure
keep me and Luis busy....so i’m goin to stop it for a page or two’
“Good idea!” he enthused
taking her hand, and as the left the dance a sweet argument could be
heard between
them...”Which movie?”
THE END
