Chapter 1: The Paso Doble
"Luis, why are you so angry?" Sheridan asked, looking quizically
at Luis.
Luis was remembering how his mother and father danced the Paso
Doble.
"Oh....I was remembering my parents.....thay danced the Paso Doble,
right
here."
"Oh." Sheridan looked down at her shoes.
"Sheridan, I still know that your family did something to Papa.
And I'll
die before I ever give up on finding out what happened to him. I am
gonna
make every single one of the Cranes pay."
"Even me, Luis?" Sheridan looked at him, arms crossed.
Luis looked at Sheridan with sympathy. "No, not you. But Julian,
and
Alistair......"
Sheridan's face immediately relaxed and she came up to Luis and
hugged
him. "Luis, I can help you. I know for a fact that Julian and
Alistair
would never do something so cruel like that. I just want to prove you
wrong."
Luis pulled away and looked into her eyes. "I hope you're right,
for
Julian and Alistair's sakes."
Sheridan looked away and yawned. "Well, I guess I better hit the
sack.
I'm pooped."
Luis laughed and nodded. "Yeah, I'm tired too. Dancing makes me
tired......and hungry!"
"Really? I'm pretty hungry too. Why don't we have a bite to eat?"
"But nothing's open!" Luis's stomach growled at the exact time he
said
that.
"Nothing HAS to be open. I'm gonna make something!" Sheridan
smiled and
went into the kitchen.
Luis followed her and asked, "What can YOU make?"
"Things......"
Luis nodded. "Things....."
"Hey! If you're so hungry, why don't you make it yourself!"
"Fine! I will!" Luis went to look in the cupboard. "Hmmmm....."
"What are you looking for?" Sheridan flinched, seeing Luis tear up
her
cupboard, looking for whatever.
"Bisquick......I want to make waffles."
"Waffles? I love waffles!" Sheridan licked her lips.
"You're not having any." Luis stuck out his tongue.
"And why not?" Sheridan stuck out her tongue back.
"Because you aren't gonna help me."
"I'll help you find the batter, and the eggs, and everything
else....For
a waffle!"
"Fine."
"Ok." Sheridan smiled and got out the stuff. "Hey, I wanna listen
to
the radio. Can you turn it on?"
"Sure." Luis turned on the radio, and Destiny's Child's new song,
"Jumpin Jumpin" was playing. After that, another song came on.
".....When the visions around you bring tears to your eyes. And
all that
surround you are secrets and lies. I'll be your strength, I'll give
you
hope. Keeping your faith when it's gone. The one you should call was
standing here all along.......And I will take you in my arms and hold
you
right where you belong. Till the day my life is through, this I
promise you.
This I promise you.......I've loved you forever in lifetimes before.
And I
promise you never, will you hurt anymore. I give you my word, I give
you my
heart. This is a battle we've won. And with this vow, forever has now
begun.......Just close your eyes each loving day and know this feeling
won't
go away, no....every word i say is true, this I promise you, this I
promise
you.........Over and over i fall, when I hear you call. Without you,
in my
life, baby, I just wouldn't be living at all.........And I will take
you in
my arms and hold you right where you belong. Every word I say is true,
this
I promise you. Just close your eyes each loving day and know this
feeling
won't go away. Till the day my life is through, this I promise you.
This I
promise you......................."
"And that was NSYNC's "This I Promise You" on Harmony's Greatest
Hits,
104.5, WSNX"

Chapter 2: Questions
"Wow. That's a really great song." Sheridan sighed.
"What? That was so corny. All that boo hoo crap makes me sick."
Sheridan looked shocked at Luis, and rolled her eyes. "I suppose
you
like Kid Rock and Korn."
"So what if I do? At least they're REAL men."
"Right.....If by your definition of REAL you mean freaky, then I
guess
you're right." Sheridan smiled.
"Mmm hmm...you think you're so smart. Did you have any idea that
your
waffles are burning?"
Sheridan looked at Luis and smelled the air. "Oh my gosh!" She
ran over
to the waffle iron and opened up the lid. "Oh no....it's burnt."
Luis started to laugh. "See, you're not always right. I'm not
really
hungry anymore, after smelling that awful stench. I think I'll call it
a
night."
"Allright. I'm sure not hungry anymore either. Goodnight Luis."
"Night Sheridan." Luis smiled at Sheridan and walked into the
living
room.
Sheridan went into her bedroom and hopped into her big bed. *Night
gorgeous.* Sheridan went into a deep sleep.
*~*~*~*~Sheridan's Dream*~*~*~*~
Luis was standing in the middle of a waterfall, bathing himself.
Sheridan walked up to Luis and stood there, mouth wide open.
"Hey Sher. It's nice and cold. Wanna join me?" Sheridan looked
at his
tan, nude body and merely nodded. "Come on!" He splashed Sheridan's
body
with the ice-cold water, and Sheridan ran up next to him and dunked
him. In
the background was playing This I Promise You.
All of a sudden everything dissapeared and Sheridan was alone, at
the
mansion. She was a little girl, and she looked down at her hands. She
screamed when she saw her bloody hands. She noticed something else,
something below her hands. A white sheet, with a bloody stain on the
top,
right where the object underneath's heart would be. Little Sheridan
screamed.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Sheridan was screaming out loud, and Luis heard it and rushed into
her
room. "Sheridan, wake up! Ssh....you're having a nightmare!
Sheridan!"
Luis shook Sheridan gently, and Sheridan woke up. "I've been a
naughty
girl. I've been a naughty girl." Sheridan kept on repeating that, and
she
was shaking. Luis took hold of her and held her in his arms. Sheridan
was
crying hysterically. "I killed someone. I killed someone. I killed
someone....."

Chapter Three: Truths and Consequences
Sheridan was sitting in the middle of her bed with Luis holding her
in
his arms, thinking of when she was a little girl, remembering that she
killed
someone! She shook back and forth, repeating, "I killed someone."
Luis just
sat there, holding the woman of his dreams in his arms, wondering what
the
hell was going on.
"Sheridan, listen to me." Luis turned her around so that she faced
him,
and lifted up her chin, so she was looking directly into Luis's crystal
clear
hazel eyes. He saw the tears running down her face, and he wiped them
away
with a single sweep of his thumb. "Calm down....that's better. Now,
can you
tell me why you are saying that you killed someone?"
Sheridan, finally totally awake looked at Luis shockingly. "Oh my
God....I..I said that?" Luis nodded in the affirmative. "Oh my...."
Sheridan looked down at her bed. "I can't talk about it..it would
upset..."
"Upset who, Sheridan?" Luis cocked his head, looking at Sheridan.
"Who?"
Sheridan looked up at Luis with a tear rolling down her eye.
"You."
Luis looked at her. "What are you trying to tell me?"
"Luis....this is very hard for me to say." Sheridan's voice
cracked, and
she started to cry hysterically.
"I....kill....killed.....you....your.....f....fat..father...."
Luis's eyes lit up and he looked at Sheridan. "What did you say?"
"I KILLED YOUR FATHER, LUIS!!! And you'll never want to see me
ever
again!!!" Sheridan got up and started to run out of the cottage when
she
tripped and fell over the couch.
Luis was running after her, and he helped her up.
"Ssh..Sheridan..calm
down." He helped her onto the couch. "Now tell me why you think you
somehow
killed my father??" Luis looked at Sheridan quizzically.
"Fine, I'll tell you the whole thing. You'll hate me forever."
"Sheridan, look at me. I could never ever hate you. I love
you...."
Luis quickly realized what he said and added, "As a friend I mean."
"That won't matter after you hear what I have to say." Sheridan
looked
down at her hands and back at Luis.

Chapter 4: The Truth Comes Out:
Sheridan looked at Luis with tear filed eyes. "It's about time that
you
learned the whole truth about your father, Luis."
Luis sat down and looked intently at Sheridan. "So what makes you
think
that you killed my father?"
Sheridan sat down, a chair across from Luis, and started: "When I
was a
little girl, there was this one night....when some man was in the
living
room...and I had a letter opener in my hand, and the next thing I know,
there
is a body under a white sheet, and my hands are bloody." Sheridan
stopped,
and burst into tears.
Luis stood up and walked over to Sheridan, and hugged her.
Sheridan
backed away and looked at him. "Why aren't you yelling at me or even
mad at
me?"
"Sheridan, how do you know that it's my father? And I don't
believe that
one second a little letter opener would kill a grown man. Sheridan,
you're
not to blame for my father's dissapearance. Your brother and father
are."
Sheridan looked up into Luis's eyes and saw the belief in them.
She got
up and hugged him. "It was just so real...if I didn't kill Martin,
then who
was under the sheet?" Luis backed away and looked into her ice blue
eyes.
"I don't think anyone, Sher. I think it was just a dream."
"It couldn't have been! It was REAL!"
"Well..we won't know until we get professional help."
"By who, Luis?"
"Well, Eve Russell said that she does hypnosis, I could give her a
call
and maybe we can figure this thing out once and for all, so that we can
move
on.....I mean, you can move on..."
"That'd be nice...." Sheridan looked down at her feet.
"I'll give her a call." Luis picked up the phone and called the
Russell
household.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is Dr. Russell there? This is Officer Lopez-Fitzgerald."
"Oh hi, Luis. Mom's in the den, I'll go get her for you."
"Thank you, Whitney."
"No problem, Luis."
Moments later, Dr. Russell got on. "Hello Luis."
"Hello Eve, I have a favor to ask of you."
"Oh?"
"My friend Sheridan Crane is having some serious mental problems
right
now, and I feel that she should undergo some hypnosis."
"Well, I'll come over and see if she needs it. I'll help in
whatever
possible way I can."
"Thank you, Eve."
"You're welcome Luis. Goodbye."
"Goodbye."
