CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Sheridan grabbed her shopping bags out of the backseat of Ethan's car and started to make her way inside the house. She really hoped Luis liked what she bought to wear tonight. It had taken her two hours of looking in four different department stores to find it and then it had taken the sales woman and Theresa another fifteen minutes on top of that to actually convince her to buy it. They said it really flattered her figure, but she still wasn't sure she agreed with them. She supposed it was too late now though. She only had an hour and a half before Luis was due to arrive.
She was glad that Ethan and Theresa had decided to go to the movies tonight, because with Julian and Ivy still on vacation in Europe, that meant she and Luis would be alone when he arrived. She knew it would make him feel alot better not having to dodge Ethan and Theresa's questions. That was the main reason she hadn't told them that she and Luis even had a date tonight. She didn't want to take the chance that one of them would call him and try to change his mind.
Sheridan shook her head then started up the stairs toward her bedroom. She wished she knew where Luis was taking her tonight, but then again, she supposed it didn't really matter. As long as they got to spend some time alone, she would be a happy woman. Maybe after dinner she could talk him into taking her some place more private - like his apartment.
They could eat dinner then go back to his place and spend the rest of the night getting to know each other. She smiled as an image of the way she wanted to get to know him flashed in her mind. The man was too sexy for her peace of mind. She still couldn't get what happened in his truck last night out of her head. If his brother hadn't showed up when he did... Well, she knew that she and Luis would have become a lot better acquainted. She could still feel the way he had kissed his way down her neck and over her breasts... the way he had taken her nipple in his mouth and lightly tugged it with his teeth... the way he had...
She shook her head as images from the dream she had last night flashed in her mind. She needed to take a cold shower. Her body was fast becoming overheated and he hadn't even showed up yet. How in the world was she going to get through dinner with all these images floating in her mind? She wouldn't be at all surprised if she dragged him out of the restaurant like a sex starved maniac.
She laughed at that thought. What was it about Luis that made her lose all her inhibitions? Sure, she had planned to have a little fun while she was in Harmony, but if she was honest with herself she knew the fun she wanted to have with Luis was not the fun she had planned on when she first arrived. She had thought she could merely flirt with a few guys, maybe go out with a couple of them, share a few kisses, but she hadn't really planned on anything more. At least, she hadn't until she saw Luis dive into the pool. She could still see the way the water traveled down his chest toward the edge of those black swim trunks. She had taken one look at him and known she had to have him.
And tonight, she thought breaking out into a wicked grin, if she was lucky, she would have him right where she wanted him. She could only imagine how hot it was going to be between them. She wondered if reality would live up to the fantasy in her mind. Something told her it wouldn't. Something told her that reality would be so much more wonderful than she could ever possibly imagine.
---------------------------------------------
Luis stepped out of the shower and grabbed the towel off the rack beside him. His plans for the night had taken him a little longer than he thought to set up. Now he would have to rush in order to pick Sher up at seven like they planned. He knew dinner would go okay, but it was the after dinner part that he wasn't so sure about. He knew what he wanted to do, but he still wasn't totally convinced it was the right thing to do. Then again, he thought shaking his head causing beads of water to fly through the air, when had he ever done the right thing?
According to Antonio, it was never. No matter what he did, his brother just always seemed to believe the worst in him. Of course, he never gave him reason to think otherwise. He always found it easier to let him and the rest of his family believe the worst in him. The only one that ever gave him the benefit of the doubt was Miguel and that was only because Miguel seemed to idolize him. Theresa usually gave him the benefit of the doubt, except when it came to women, then she was as bad if not worse than Antonio was. He was surprised that she hadn't stuck her two cents in about him and Sher yet. He supposed she was waiting until she got him alone. That was another conversation he wasn't looking forward to.
Luis had been glad Antonio had been called into the office this morning before he could start his lecture. He hadn't really been in the mood to listen to him. Of course, he knew his brother, and he knew that they would get into it sometime. Damn, he thought running a hand through his wet hair, why was it that everyone seemed so determined to lecture him on his dating habits? He understood Ethan's point of view, because Sher after all was his cousin, but he damn sure didn't understand Antonio's. His brother hadn't seen him with a woman in ages and yet because he caught them in such a compromising position he had automatically thought Luis was doing something wrong. He still didn't get how he could have thought Sher was underage. She didn't look that young!
Luis finished getting dressed then got out his razor and made sure he got a nice close shave. If something did happen between him and Sher tonight, he certainly didn't want to have to worry about her getting whisker burns. He still couldn't believe Sher wanted a no strings attached affair as much as he did. The woman was definitely one of a kind. She went after what she wanted and she didn't care who knew it. He really liked that about her. She was wild and so uninhibited. He had no idea how anyone could ever call her little miss innocent. She was about as far away from innocent as a person could get.
He smiled at the memory of her striping in the pool and wondered what she would do tonight. He knew there was no telling with her. She definitely kept him on his toes. Just when he thought he had her figured out, she threw him another curve ball. Well, tonight he thought grinning at his reflection in the mirror, he planned to throw a few curve balls of his own. It was time he turned the tables and showed her just how much fun he could be.
----------------------------------------------
Sheridan checked her appearance over one last time in the mirror then grabbed her purse and started making her way downstairs. It was almost seven so she knew Luis would be arriving soon. She wondered what he would be wearing. She hoped it was black. He looked so good in black. It made him look dangerous and she liked that. He was a bad boy, yet she knew there was more to him than that. He definitely provided her with a challenge.
She was used to be chasing her, not the other way around. From what Theresa had told her, Luis had done his fair share of skirt chasing, but she took pride in the fact that she was the one that had started pursuing him. She liked the fact that she caught him off guard. She liked the fact that she was in control of what happened between them. She liked the fact that she had always instigated the compromising positions they had found themselves in. Well at least she had until last night. Last night he had been the one to kiss her and they had both gone up in flames. It had been the first time he had actually made a move on her and she had been thrilled that he was no longer fighting her.
The doorbell rang just as she reached the bottom of the stairs and she took a deep calming breath before going to open it. But then the minute she opened the door and saw Luis, the air left her lungs entirely. He wore tight black denim jeans and an open collar button up black shirt tucked in at the waist. She wondered if he left the top few buttons undone because he knew it would cause her to drool over the muscles in his chest all night long. When she glanced up into his brown eyes and he smiled, she had the distinct impression he had.
He winked at her and she blushed. Before she could say anything his eyes left hers and started to roam over her body. She felt her skin tingle everywhere his eyes touched. She knew the dress she wore was revealing to say the least, which was precisely why she bought it. Not only did it fit her like a second skin, but it also had thin spaghetti straps so her neck and shoulders were mostly bare, as was a good part of her chest. She smiled as heard his quick intake of breath and almost laughed when she noticed his eyes seemed to be glued to her chest.
When he finally raised her eyes back to her face, they were intense with desire. "You look sexy as hell in that dress."
"Why thank you." She said stepping closer and fingering one section of his collar making sure her fingernail lightly raked the exposed skin of his chest. "You don't look so bad yourself."
"God," he said wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close to his body. "I'm not sure if I can make it through dinner."
She grinned. "Who said you had to?"
He laughed and leaned in to place a light kiss on her lips then pulled back and shook his head. "You are something else, you know that?"
"Yes, I do and that is exactly why you find me irresistible."
"You may be right about that." He said flashing her a devilish grin and stepping back. He ran a hand down her arm and she shivered. "But tonight, I definitely don't plan to resist you. Hell, I don't think I could even if I wanted to."
Sheridan smiled as he laced his fingers with hers and pulled her out the door. He released her hand long enough for her to turn and lock the door then once she had closed it, he grabbed her hand again and led her to his truck. She couldn't wait to find out what he had planned for the evening. She knew whatever it was, it would be a night to remember. After all, how could it not be? She now knew without a doubt in her mind that sometime tonight she and Luis would become lovers. It was no longer a question. It was now a simple undeniable fact.
