CHAPTER THREE: DEATH OF A LEGEND

***King Kai's Planet***

Yamcha, Tien, and Chao-tzu were getting pretty sick of not knowing what was going on. King Kai seemed the most worried out of the four. "It's all my fault. If you don't make it out of there alive I'll never forgive myself. Goku…You could've left with them and been freed from Frieza's wretched grip. But you chose to sacrifice your life to make sure he was defeated. Ever since you came here, I knew you were a person unlike any other. The only kind-hearted Saiyan." "King Kai? Is Goku gonna be alright?" Tien asked. "I'm afraid not..." King Kai broke out in tears. "GOKU!!! Why couldn't you have left? Now your family and friends' lives will be empty…without a loving person to care for them…" ***Earth*** Vegeta was back to his hysterical laughing again. "HAHAHA! Namek will be space dust any minute now!!!" For the first time, the Namek villagers heard him. "What!? Namek's gonna blow!? Great Guru is that true?" Guru was struggling to speak. "I'm sorry, my children…there's nothing we can do." The Namekians watched as their elder gasped in breaths. "It's my time. I will be leaving soon…Marki. You will be the new elder…." "Yes, Guru." "Good-bye, my children. I will always be in your heart…" A few Namekian children shed tears as their beloved grandfather disappeared into nonexistence. "Guru!!!…sniff." ***Namek*** The mighty Super Saiyan sped off into the distance, searching for another way home. "Come on! My ship should be around here somewhere…" Goku stopped at the sight of a Capsule Corp. spacecraft, broken and buried into the lava-spitting planet. "Oh, no! Now what am I gonna do?" He still didn't give up. "Wait! Didn't the Ginyu Force have a ship? They must've!" Once again, he raced across the unstable planet. "Where is it?! I don't have much time left!" The ground erupted with several lava fountains. Namek was starting to look more like a volcano. Goku lowered to the ground to think as quickly as possible. The ground beneath him rumbled and gave way. "AAHH!!!" The last thing he saw was being engulfed in flames. "SHHIITTT!!!!" ***Earth*** "What's that feeling? I'm sensing a ki fading…gulp," Gohan said. "Yeah. I feel it too," Piccolo replied. Vegeta stopped laughing hoarsely only to say, "Kakarot's dead!!! HAHAHA!" Gohan hated Vegeta, but knew in his heart that it was true. "Wait a sec. I seem to recall there being dragon balls on this planet. Yes…And with them I'll be granted eternal life! HAHAHA!" "So sorry," Piccolo snickered. "Huh?" "The dragon balls were used to resurrect you. Looks like it's not your lucky day, after all." Piccolo was grinning from ear to ear. Vegeta struggled to restrain himself from choking him.
