Hometown: Virginia plantation, known as Hatton Willow
Type of Childhood: Her parent's were killed when she was two. Her mother had attended the same church as Jackson and Myrtle Hatton, who took over care of Magdelyn after their death. She was raised as a servant, sleeping in her own small quarters in the attic of the plantation. Though she was never physically mistreated, she grew up with the knowledge that she was less than others.
First Memory: watching as a young black slave was whipped for breaking an expensive China bowl.
Most Important Childhood event that still affects her: The loss of her child. At 19, she became pregnant by a proper young gentleman that lived on a neighboring plantation. Believing that a child out of wedlock was a sin, the Hatton's gave the child away, despite her protests and pleas. A small part of Magdelyn died the day the Hatton's ripped her baby girl from her arms. It was shortly after that when Magdelyn left the plantation for the harshities of the world around her. Because she was taught not to interfere where she wasn't involved, she grew to just blend in, letting the world move on without her as she just followed along behind.

Introvert or extrovert: Introvert Why: Not because she is shy; she just feels like she is nothing special to deserve more attention. She enjoys interacting with people, but will not start any sort of engagement in conversation.
