She tells her father that she loves Bo, and hints that she might be going to Bo's later and she doesn't want her father pounding on Bo's door to come and get her. Hope begs once again to see her father and complains it isn’t fair. Julie firmly tells her that she won’t be allowed in to see her father until the doctors allow it. She reminds Hope that Doug is still critically ill. Hope begs her to tell him how much she loves him. Hope tells Melissa that she believes she can explain to her father how much she loves him and how sorry she is, and that she loves Bo too. She knows Julie won’t tell him that she loves him. Melissa doesn’t understand why she can’t just wait a couple of days till the cardiac restrictions are lifted.

Bo has a bug at Alex’s, and tapes his conversations. He takes the tape from Alex's over to Roman to report about an important meeting with Marlena for tomorrow. Roman wants Bo to monitor the tape as much as possible. Bo isn't thrilled to hear this suggestion as the tunnel isn't his favorite place to be given the proximity to Doug’s Place and his chances of running into Hope & Julie.

Bo runs into Hope at Shenanigan's, she asks him to sit down and talk. He can't as he is off to the cave. He listens in some more to Alex Marshall. Hope arrives at the hospital and Julie is shocked to see her. Doug sees her through the glass door and starts getting upset and calling for her. His heart monitor starts beeping and Julie comes out to tell her that she is already upsetting him as the docs rush to his side. Hope is devastated to finally realize the impact she is having and rushes out.

Bo goes back up to Doug's Place and runs into Hope again. She runs into his arms. She says she was at the hospital and they won't allow her to see her father, that when he just saw her through the window the machines started beeping with his elevator heart rate. Bo suggests maybe they cool down for awhile. Hope disagrees as that is exactly what Julie wants, to keep them apart. Instead, she suggests that they go back to his place so they can be alone. He says he would love to be alone with her right now but he can't. Then Hope gives him the message that Michael Brown called (this is the code name that he uses with Roman). He runs off to see Roman but when he gets to the motel, Roman is no longer there.

1/9 He comes back and questions Hope about the message. He offers her a ride. She tells him that she will always feel responsible for her dad's heart attack. Hope says all she wants is to spend time with Bo, she isn't looking to live with him or get married. He takes her to the hospital. She tells Julie that she won't ask to see her father and is sorry for arguing with Julie about it. She just came over to try to see how her dad was doing. They argue about Bo.

Hope observes that Julie would like to just kick Bo out of her life. Julie admits she would and that her father wants someone better for her. Hope asks if Doug has asked for her. Julie finally allows her in to see him but warns her not to say anything that will upset him. Hope promises, hugs Julie thank you and runs in to see him. Hope tells him how much she loves him, how sorry she is and she will never forgive himself for the pain she has put him through. He wants to talk to her about Bo, she says they should wait for that. He is worried that he might not have enough time, she doesn’t want to hear him talk like that.

He apologizes that he barged in on her with Bo. He is sorry that he embarrassed her. She says that she loves Bo but doesn’t want to hurt Doug. He fells she is following her heart, not her head. He tells her that she should date different men before she decides on one man for the rest of her life, what will Bo be like when she is 30, or 40. He doesn’t want to see her hurt and declares that Bo is the wrong man for her and she doesn’t want him to see him ever again. Hope tells Doug how much she loves him but she loves Bo too. Doug points out that she has time and if Bo loves her, that he will wait for her. Hope agrees to think about it if it means that much to him.

Bo tells Mrs. H that he lost Roman, and he tells her about the code name in case Roman calls. Back at Doug’s Place, Bo gets a call from Michael Brown as Eugene & Marlena listen in, wondering if that is Roman. Eugene and Marlena follow him and Bo goes to Eugene's and confronts them as he spots their tail. Marlena begs for Bo to tell her the truth. He swears he doesn't know where Roman is and that he hasn't been helping him.

Back at Doug’s Place, Larry & Hope sit down with her grandparents. They agree to put his prosecution of Julie in the past. Larry asks to talk to Bo and tells him that Doug and Julie are worried about Hope, being with him. Bo tells him to butt out and asks since when is Larry such good friends with Doug and Julie (he was only too happy to arrest her for Renee’s murder the previous summer).

1/10 Doug tells Neil that he needs to talk to Bo. He begs Neil to arrange it, he has to do it to ease his mind. Liz tells Bo that Neil called and said that Doug wants to see him. Bo is very hesitant to see Doug after how upset he got last time, he doesn't want to cause him anymore stress. Neil says it will cause more harm if he doesn't seem him as Doug is very insistent.

Bo hesitantly goes to see Doug who begins to question him about his intentions. Doug tells him he never thought Bo was right for Hope. Bo replies he doesn't think it is fair of Doug to say that. Doug asks if Bo is ready to make a commitment to his daughter. Bo tells him that he loves Hope but remains silent on the commitment issue. This clinches for Doug that Bo will only hurt Hope. Doug tells Bo of his dreams for Hope, to go to college, to see the world and implies that Bo won't fit in with this life. He asks Bo if he is proud of what this relationship has accomplished. Bo says he is not ashamed of his relationship with Hope. Doug asks Bo to let her go for her own good, that Bo will only cause her unhappiness. Bo acknowledges, "Maybe your right."

Bo is angry with Eugene when he finds a bug on his jacket that Eugene planted on his jacket. Bo sits alone in his room, holding a piece of Hope's jewelry, and reads from the book of poems that he gave to Hope.

1/11 -1/12 Eugene questions Bo again, he wants to know where Roman is. Bo continues to insist that he doesn’t know. Bo asks for Chris' advice on whether he should break up with Hope? Bo tells Chris that he is nothing but trouble for Hope. He goes onto say that he can't make a commitment to Hope and doesn't know if he will ever be able to. He is worried that the longer he sees her, the farther away she gets from her folks. Chris can see how Doug and Julie are less than thrilled with the prospect of having Bo as a son-in-law. Bo says that if she does lose her family over Bo that she would end up resenting him, that she thinks all she needs is her freedom and to be with Bo but he knows how important her family is to her. They are interrupted by Howie.

Larry finds Hope at Shenanigan's and tries to be helpful, he can't do enough for her. She says all she really wants is to go to the hospital to see her father. She accepts his offer to escort her there. He tells her that he knows exactly what she is going through as his father had a heart attack. Larry calls her princess, she smiles and says that her dad has called her that since she was little.

When Hope goes into see her father, he tells her how much he loves her. He tells her about when she was born that they named her Hope because she was the hope for his future as her mother, Addie, was very ill at the time. She tells him how important he is to her, and she doesn't want to lose him. She agrees to do whatever he asks her to, but agrees that she won't see Bo if that is what he feels is best. She tells him how much she loves Bo. Doug tells her that he knows how painful this is for her, but he believes it is really for the best for her to break up with Bo.

1/13 Bo goes to see Roman & Anna, they are all disguised as monks hiding out. Bo tells Roman that he has decided to break up with Hope, but that he doesn't told her yet. Roman worries this decision is because of Bo's involvement with Roman. Bo says that is part of it, Doug's heart attack is also part of it. Bo thinks of breaking up with Hope while he drives home.

At the same time as Hope is driving home with Larry, she thinks of the promise she made to her father to break up with Bo. She runs into Julie at the lodge, and Julie thanks her for agreeing to break up with Bo and acknowledges that Hope really does love her father. Hope tells her that she also told her father how much she loves Bo and that they are both wrong about him and one day they will realize that. Julie doesn't quite believe the she has misunderstood Bo. Hope says she is the only one that really knows him. Unfortunately, Bo is stopped for speeding and then arrested for carrying a gun that he doesn't have a license for, "illegal possession of a firearm".

1/16 Hope reads about Bo’s arrest in the paper and heads over to the PD. Meanwhile, Abe offers Bo a deal. He will drop the charges against Bo if he will lead them to Roman. Larry comes in and says no way, he is pressing charges and Bo isn't getting out of this one. Then Hope arrives and Larry's tune sure changes. Suddenly, he is offering Hope that he will see if he can help Bo if that is what she wants. She asks him to help. He gets Bo off on a technicality, Bo is less than grateful for Larry's assistance but happy to get out of jail.

Bo and Hope agree to meet later that night, each planning on breaking up with the other. Hope goes to see her father and tells him she will meet Bo later that night. He has heard about the arrest and is not happy that she is seeing Bo. She explains she hasn't had a chance to talk to him yet and hasn't broken up with him yet.

Bo goes to see Roman and tells him about Larry's help, Roman doesn't like it anymore than Bo does. They are making plans to get Anna out of the country on a flight to Lisbon. Later that night, Hope meets Bo on the docks. Hope tells him that she can't hurt her father anymore, that she can't handle a lot of things at once, that she isn't as mature as she thought she was, and tells him she can't see him anymore. He says she is right, that the closer they get the more trouble he causes for her, that he is bad news for her and its about time they saw that before they both got hurt. He gives her back the book of poetry. He starts to walk away, then turns back and they share a long, lingering, goodbye kiss. She tells him she will always love him, only him. He tells her that he will always love her and walks away. She sadly sits on the docks.

Dvd #2C Great quality 1/17-1/18 The next morning, Bo dreams of the night of Hope's 18th birthday when they almost made love. Hope is meanwhile dreaming of Bo, of the night on the docks when she said goodbye. Julie wakes her Hope up, its the big day, the day Hope gets her inheritance. Hope is sad, and tells Julie that she told Bo it was over. Julie tells her that she did the right thing and the pain will pass. Hope tells Julie that there will never be anyone but Bo for her.

Roman calls Bo and wants to meet. Roman tells Bo that he wants him to steal Eugene's "Baka", that it is crucial. Bo tells him that it will be difficult as Eugene keeps it well protected. Bo tells Roman that Marlena has pictures of the Baka and he can get those and bring them to him. As Bo opens the door to leave, he finds Hope there. She tells him that she is there to pick up a letter of recommendation from Marlena for college. Bo asks if she is planning on going away to college? She says she hasn't decided yet, and she has to think about a major, where she wants to go, there are a lot of decisions to make. He tells her that she looks terrific (she is wearing a business suit, with her hair up in a bun, looking quite mature).

Mickey, Doug, Julie, meet with Hope about her inheritance. They tell her they will continue to manage her money until she learns more about doing it for herself. Mickey invites her out to lunch.

Bo meets with Mrs. H and asks to borrow a car to throw off everyone who is trying to follow him. She is worried about him and read that he had been arrested. They also go out for lunch and of course Bo and Hope run into each other. Mickey tells Hope that her feelings for Bo are written all over her face.

Bo takes the photos to Roman (who is now hiding out dressed as a monk in a monastary). Bo meets with Roman who shows him the "Baka" who tells him about the feud between the Bradfords and the DiMeras. Roman tells Bo that the picture looks like the mythical bird, the phoenix. Roman tells Anna that he can't trust her and he won't be safe utnil she is out of the country. Bo is to help her catch the flight to Portugal, and leave the monastary together. She leaves behind a note that she isn't leaving, that she is going to stay in Salem and try to help him. Bo has stopped and is waiting for Anna, who is supposed to be changing. Roman jumps in the car, tells Bo about the note and asks here Anna is? Bo says she is changing, Roman shows Bo her monk outfit that he found left behind and the window in the bathroom open. Roman is upset that Anna has gotten away.

1/19-1/20 Tony is revealed as the killer and he mentions Hope's name. Meanwhile, Hope complains to Larry that she is annoyed over how happy Julie is that she broke up with Bo. They stop down on the docks and Larry continues to be his most charming.

At the lodge, Bo isn't happy to see Hope sitting in front of the fire with Larry. He asks Hope what she is doing with that guy? He is the one who put out the shoot to kill order on Roman. Roman calls from Howie’s office and leaves a message with Mrs. H for Bo. A security guard has spotted him and phones it in. Bo goes to the PD and overhears that Roman has been spotted in Salem. A message arrives over the computer supposedly from Roman saying that he will kill again.

Marlena and Hope talk, Hope suggests to Marlena that maybe Larry can help. Marlena doesn't want to ask Larry for help, and doesn't trust him. Larry tells Hope that he didn't put out the shoot to kill order on Roman, that the commissioner did and he won't take any advice from Larry at this time. Larry reports that he talked to the commissioner's assistant and he reported the the shoot to kill order will not be rescinded. Hope is worried about Bo and asks Mrs. H if she has seen him, she says no.

Bo back at his place, hears "Celebrate My Love" on the radio and thinks about Hope. The phone rings and it is Roman, Bo is relieved to hear from him. They meet at a warehouse, Bo gets worried when he hears sirens go by. Bo goes outside to check as Roman pulls out his gun. Bo says its all clear but they will check this building sooner or later and they need to move him. Bo has come up with a place that is safe and they can listen to the tapes. Bo takes him to Eugene's and tells him about the trap door to the basement. Roman thinks he is crazy, that this is a terrible idea. Bo insists and tells him he will signal when it is all clear.

Eugene is mad at Bo and tells him to get lost. Bo insists and pushes his way inside. Bo tells him that he isn't there to cause trouble. Bo tells him and Marlena that he has been looking for them to apologize. Marlena lectures Bo for taking off from the PD that nothing is more important than family. Eugene asks if that is where Bo went, to see Roman? Bo denies it. Marlena tells him again that she wants to get Roman help, that she doesn't think it is too late for him. Bo assures her that he is just as worried about Roman as she is. Bo gets Eugene to go into the kitchen to make Marlena something to eat and then gets Marlena to go in and supervise.

At the same time that Roman is with Bo, someone looking exactly like Roman enters Hope's bedroom. The intruder pulls out a knife and Hope wakes up and fights him off and screams her head off. Larry & Julie arriving back hear her screaming.

Roman finally makes it through the trap door. He can hear all the conversations from the living room up above. Marlena worries for the fate of Roman, that he is out there with a shoot to kill order. After Eugene and Marlena go back to the kitchen, Bo pretends he is leaving and goes through the trap door to join Roman in the basement. Bo shows Roman a false wall opens up to a secret tunnel. While in the basement, Bo overhears when Abe calls to tell Eugene that Hope has been attacked. Bo takes off immediately and heads to Doug's Place.

Alice Horton is reeling with the news that Roman is the killer. She runs to Bo when she sees him. She tells him that Hope said her attacker was Roman, that she saw him. Bo tells her he was with Roman all night, that Hope merely thought she saw Roman that it wasn't him. Bo admits something strange is going on. He is worried about Hope and heads up to see her. Larry tries to stop him and Bo says, "I'm going to see my girl". Larry retorts, "Ex girl!" He tries to stop Bo from going upstairs and Bo grabs him and tosses him out of the way. Mr. H says that he doesn’t think Bo should be seeing Hope right now. Alice laughs, “Who is going to stop him?” Alice is thrilled to see evidence that Bo still loves Hope.

Upstairs, Julie comforts a very upset Hope. Bo enters Hope's bedroom, and Julie asks how dare he come her after what his brother tried to do to him. Julie initially refuses to allow him to see her, but gives in when Hope insists. He immediately goes to her and takes her in his arms. He holds her and strokes her hair. She cries as she tells him about Roman trying to kill her. He assures her that it wasn't Roman, that he wouldn't lie to her about this. She says she is better now that he is there. He tells her he can't stay but he will find out who did this to her (a little bit of sound distortion during this scene, still very audible but fluctuates).

Bo returns to see Roman in the basement with his new disguise as an English professor/bird watcher. Roman is desperate to get back to Marlena, he is worried about her. Roman tells Bo that if everyone feels he is dead that the police will stop looking for him and, more importantly, the killer will be forced to stop killing. Bo warns him that they have to get to Marlena before she hears about Romans’ death.

He tells her it is probably a rat. Roman tells Bo that he has to fake his death so the police will stop looking for him. Bo is worried about Marlena. Roman insists that he needs Bo to help him. Roman tells him that Marlena won’t hear about his death until after he has contacted her. Bo is relieved they are going to let Marlena in on all this and she will finally learn her husband isn’t crazy.

Larry & Hope go to the cafe and discuss the attack. She still can’t believe Roman would do this. Bo runs into Hope there, Larry accuses him of trying to coach Hope into saying that Roman didn't attack her. Bo tells Larry that some day he will eat his words about Roman.

1/25 (reduced quality) Hope fills Melissa in on her attack when they see each other at the hospital. Hope tells her how terribly much she misses Bo, she can’t see him, or talk to him. Doug comes out of his room for a walk in the halls. He asks her if she is feeling better about breaking up with Bo? The nurse interrupts to take him back to his room.

Back in his room, they laugh and joke and she pretends to be light hearted and happy. He tells her how proud he is of her and references her getting over breaking up with Bo. She reminds him how many people care about him and just want to see him get better. Topic turns to how kind Larry has been to her and he suggests maybe he is helping to take her mind off of Bo. Julie comes in and tells them that Doug will get released tomorrow!

Next Hope meets up with Melissa at the cafe. Hope tells her that her dad is coming home and expects them to be one big happy family. She is thrilled he is getting better. She plans on telling him how she feels about Bo as soon as he is a bit stronger.

Bo and Roman are at a remote cabin that Roman has rented (while in disguise), their plan is to blow up the cabin and fake Roman's death.

1/26-1/27 great quality. Marlena arrives at Alex’s house. She walks in to hear Anna talking about going to see Carrie. Marlena tells Anna that she wants to know where Roman is and she wants to know right now! Bo listens in on as she tells him she is too upset to meet with him. Alex then calls and confirms that there is still a shoot to kill order out on Roman.

Bo then meets up with Howie. He tells him that this is a matter of life and death and tells him he needs explosives and detonator as Roman is going to fake his death so they can get the police off tailing him and find the real killer.

Anna meets up with Roman, and Bo enters with the most recent tape from Alex’s. She points out that she is pumping Alex for information and she is spying on Tony for them. She knows that Delia is up to something and she is going to figure it out. She knows Tony is hiding something and she isn’t going to stop and promises to be his eyes and ears in Salem.

Doug is home and thrilled to be with Hope. As he is raving about his happy family, she pulls away. She excuses that she is just worried about school pressure. He is disappointed to hear that she isn’t happy. She says she just has a bad day due to finals and she will be fine in a few weeks.

Bo meets with Anna at Shenanigan’s and has to remind her to keep her voice down and be more discreet. They are prime suspects in helping Roman and they are being watched. Anna wants to know what the plan is so she can help. Bo denies any plan, Roman is just in Salem to try to find the killer.

Bo runs into Hope at Shenanigan’s. He turns to leave and tells her has to take off. She snarks, he usually does. He asks her if she is okay, and if her dad is okay? She says yes. She is worried that he is mad at her for talking to the cops about Roman. He tells her he can't stay mad at her long, and then she tells him that she misses him. He grimaces that her date just walked in. She asks if he is jealous? He says he doesn't have the right to be.

Hope shows up at Howie’s and sees a package with an urgent note that it is for Bo. She picks it up as an excuse to see him. Later, Bo goes back to Howie's and asks about the detonator. Howie thought Bo had picked it up as it has disappeared.

Larry pays a visit to Doug & Julie. Doug thanks him for all of his kindness after his heart attack to both Julie & Hope. Larry continues to snow them that he cares about Hope as she reminds him so much of his sister. Doug knows Hope needs someone she doesn’t resent looking out for her. Larry declares it is her pleasure.

Hope arrives back at Shenanigan’s looking for Bo, she has a package for him. Pete walks in and gives Hope grief for not coming into work lately. As she sits with Melissa, Speed soon shows up to talk to Pete.

Larry brings Hope a rose and asks her if she can take a break and sit with him for a bit. Bo comes in she tells him that she picked up a package for him at Howie's. He is relieved she has it but concerned she has been walking around with it. He rather urgently asks for it and asks her to be careful with it. She wants to know if it has to do with Roman as Speed listens in. He tells her not to ask him about Roman as people will think he knows where Roman is. He tells her not to ask him questions about Roman as he doesn’t want people thinking he knows where Roman is.

Speed tells Pete that he has an idea on how they can make some real cash. He says that Tony DiMera has offered a reward of $100,000 for the capture of Roman Brady. He looks at Hope and says they will be a lot richer by tomorrow morning. Later Pete and Hope are closing up alone. Speed comes in and they both corner her and Pete demands info. She tells them to let her go. Pete tells her that she isn’t going anywhere until she starts talking. Speed tells her that they are going to have a little party.

Bo is with Howie and asks him to help him figure out how to kill his brother. Bo tells him the police have to be positive that Roman has to be inside, maybe by planting false leads to get the police there. Maybe even see Roman walk inside and then for it to blow up as the police watch. Bo really appreciates that Howie believes him about Roman and his helping him. Howie says that he can smell a con a mile away.

Speed continues to threaten her and to mess up her pretty little face. He wants to know where Roman is, he saw her talking to Bo. Pete tells him to back off that he is going too far. As Speed continues to threaten Hope, Pete grabs a bottle ready to deck him. Chris walks in and grabs Speed and pulls him off of Hope and slams him down on the bar. Pete swears they weren’t going to hurt her.

1/30-2/1 Chris has Speed tied up and asks for one reason that he shouldn’t call the cops. He asks Pete if he was going to try to rape her. He comments this was real nice for them to scare her two days after she was attacked. Chris grabs Speed and tells him that it was all his idea, that it wasn’t Pete’s fault, that he just went along with it. They share their bright idea about Hope maybe knowing where Roman is. Chris can’t believe that Pete went along with this idea. Speed says that Pete just went along with it, and Hope backs him up (even though he scared her too).

Bo walks into Shenanigan's and sees Hope sitting at the table with her head resting in her hands. Chris is asking Speed about his harassing Hope. Pete says he was trying to get information about Roman's whereabouts and they weren't going to hurt her (he had overheard her conversation with Bo earlier and wanted to try to get info so he could collect the reward out on Roman).

Bo grabs her and holds her, asking if she is okay? He is worried that once again because of her involvement with him that she was put in danger and she could have been seriously hurt. She says this wasn’t his fault. He tells her that every time something bad happens to her that it is because of him, that he is nothing but trouble for her. He tells her to stay away from him, that he is trying to do the right thing.

Bo is furious, they had blades and they could have hurt her because of him. She doesn’t understand why they can’t be together if they love each other. He tells her that he is nothing but trouble for her, that every time something bad happens to her that it is his fault. She He tells her that he is involved in something very dangerous right now and that puts her at risk. He goes onto tell her that by asking about Roman that Speed assumed that she knew something about Roman.

He says like bringing him the package. She is puzzled why that was an issue but he can’t tell her. He tells her that he doesn’t need nor does he want her help. He tells her that he wishes he could tell her but he can’t and he doesn’t want her involved in his life, that he can’t have her involved in his life. She asks can he at least tell her that he wants her?

He softens and says yes that he wants that more than anything. She wants to know if he meant it when he told her how much he loved her? He walks away, turns his back, and then tells her she has to forget about all of that. He wants her to forget about him, but she promises that will never happen. She asks him to please take her home, she starts to cry. At first he says no but he can’t refuse her, he agrees. While in the car, "Celebrate Our Love" plays on the radio and leads to a montage of their scenes together.

When they arrive at the lodge, she asks him to walk her to the door. Again, he asks about her parents and she assures them that they will be asleep. But of course as soon as Hope enters the door, here comes a fired up Doug. He is ticked off that Hope is out till 3:00 in the morning, with Bo, after they both promised to stay away from each other. He goes onto to tell him how worried he was and they don’t understand what that is like.

Doug winds up stomping off to bed, annoyed. As Bo leaves, he tells Hope that he won't come between her and her father, that he promised Doug. She complains that this isn't fair, and he responds, "Fair doesn't enter into this. You would hate me forever if I came between you and your Pop. I'm not going to do that.”

The next morning, Julie questions if she isn’t leaving a bit early. Hope makes an excuse about school. Julie tells her that she knows that Bo brought Hope home that night. She interrogates her, how could she do that after all the promises she made when she knows how much that would upset Doug. Hope tells her that she doesn’t want to discuss it. Grandpa Tom arrives and Doug comes down. Hope uses it as an excuse to leave, Doug is very icy as she says goodbye.

Bo tells Howie about the danger she was in from Speed last night. Hope enters and sadly tells Bo she has to talk to him. She tells him how sorry she is about what her dad said to him. She is worried as Doug was so hurt. Bo tells her they have to figure out what they are going to do about each other. She tells him that she thinks about him all the time. He tells her that he thinks about her too. She says she can't forget the night of her party, the look in his eyes when he kissed her, when he told her that he loved her, how he touched her. She asks him to make her feel the way he made her feel then. He holds her hand, then leans in and kisses her. He says this isn't what he had in mind, he just wanted to talk.

She tells him it is hopeless that they can't stay away from each other. He says they have to, they promised her dad, and they have to stay strong, as there is no other choice. Then he mentions the dangerous job he is doing, that he can't be with her till it is over and she has to promise him to stay away. She worries someone else will move in on him if she does stay away. He assures her that she doesn't have to worry about that. She asks if there is hope for the future? He says when her dad is well, and when his case is over, that yes they could be together.

After he leaves, Howie comes in and Hope pumps him for info on the dangerous “divorce case” that Bo is working on. Howie agrees that she should stay away from Bo for now. He walks off and Larry takes the opportunity to approach. He comments on how lost she looks.

Bo arrives at Roman's with the explosive devices and burgers. Roman asks Bo what is eating at him, that he has been arguing with him since he walked through the door. Roman tells him they are in too deep for Bo to mess up. Bo tells Roman to consider everything Bo has already done for him. Roman figures out that he is talking about Hope, and staying away from her. Roman plans on telling his folks and Marlena that his death is faked. Roman tells Bo to hang in there, that this will be over soon. Bo tells Roman that he will be with Hope!

When Doug learns about Hope being attacked by Roman, he grabs his chest as it feels tight. Julie assures him that she changed all the locks. Hope walks in as Doug is laying down, obviously in distress. He tells her that he learned about Roman. He begs her that he doesn’t want to fight with her, life is too short. He begs her to promise him that she will stay close to him.

Larry arrives again, this time bearing books for Doug. When Larry picks up on the tension, Hope spills about how Doug keeps treating her like a little girl. He acknowledges that now she is graduating high school next week that he would like to invite her for a date. He isn’t trying to take Bo’s place and gives her a sob story about an obligation. He takes her in his arms to dance and pretends they are at the party and does impersonations of the other guests and makes Hope laugh. She agrees to go with him. He is thrilled and boasts that he will have the most beautiful woman in Salem on his arm.

2/1 Hope pours her heart out to Melissa about the roadblocks her and Bo are facing. She tells her how much she loves him and he kissed her that morning and no one kisses like Bo. She is worried that half the girls in Salem want him and someone else might snatch him up while she can’t see him. Melissa reassures her that Bo is in love with her.

Pete comes in and challenges that Hope has probably told Melissa what a bad guys he is. Melissa is horrified that Pete was involved in threatening her. Hope defends that Pete tried to stop it, but she now understands why Pete was involved. Melissa is disgusted as she could have been hurt and maybe everyone is right about him. Hope defends maybe he just needs a chance.

Hope later shares that she got her first apartment! She has rented Bo’s old place upstairs. She can’t stay with Julie for another moment, she can’t deal with her guilt trip over Doug’s heart attack. She also points out that she will be closer to Bo. Melissa is happy for her as she and Bo should be together, they are in love with each other. She encourages Hope to go for it!
