Bo & Hope ##35 June 19 - September 29, 1998: 12 hour original edit
DVD #35A Hope goes to the Kiriakis mansion, where Billie is waiting. She asks Billie if they can put their differences aside at a time like this. Billie agrees and then asks Hope to leave her and Bo alone so they can grieve for their daughter together. Hope is wary of Billie's motive and asks Billie how she can grieve with Bo when she threw him out of the house.
Billie is angry and accuses Bo of running to Hope immediately. She says if Hope would just stand aside, she and Bo would be together and might even conceive another baby. Hope tells Billie that she is not standing in their way, but if she wanted Bo, she would just tell him so, and not manipulate him the way Billie does.
She tells Billie that although she does feel bad about their argument before Georgia's death, Billie was just as much responsible for that argument as she was. Hope turns to leave before she says something she'll regret. Billie tells her she's a typical Horton, compassionate and virtuous on the outside, but it's all a front.
She says that Hope only went to New Orleans to get Bo to run after her, and that she exaggerated the danger she was in. Billie says those people in the bayou were not even dangerous. Hope stares at her and asks her how she knows about the people in the bayou.
Wayne and Earl leave the food for Swamp Girl. Bo waits there for her to make an appearance, while Erlene puts flowers on Georgia's grave.
6/22 Hope wonders how Billie knew the people in the bayou weren't dangerous. Billie says she had to stop there and ask for directions from some nice people. Hope says that the people she and Bo met weren't helpful. Billie starts bitching about how Hope lured Bo down there.
Hope says that she should have trusted Bo when he said he'd be back, but she didn't and the stress on her child started when she went down to the bayou. Hope says if she trusted Bo, maybe her baby would still be alive. Billie tells Hope that trying to turn this back on her won't work, she killed her baby. Hope says she'll always feel guilty about what happened, which makes Billie smile.
Roman shows up and then tells Hope that Billie doesn't need this. Billie now accuses Hope of killing her child and driving her husband away to! Roman tells Billie that she can't blame Hope for Bo's leaving and Hope points out that she told him to go. Roman asks Billie if she told Bo to leave and Billie says she did, but was upset. Billie tells Roman that she needs Bo, but Roman says Bo being gone is a good thing because it will let them both cool off. Hope knows why Bo left and hopes he finds peace.
In the Bayou, Bo is looking for Swamp Girl because she could be the key to Hope's past. Bo hides when he hears footsteps, it's Wayne and Earl. They came back to give Swamp Girl some candy bars and end up talking about how dangerous Swamp Girl is. Swamp Girl manages to take their candy without them even knowing. Wayne and Earl decide to leave and go fishing.
Wayne and Earl end up fishing near where Swamp Girl is hiding. Bo is still hiding and sees Swamp Girl jump into the water. Bo wonders how he can convince Swamp Girl that he is her friend. He decides not to invade Swamp Girl's territory and search for the compact. Instead, he decides to set up camp. Wayne and Earl are discussing how ugly Swamp Girl is. As Swamp Girl listens, Wayne and Earl wonder about the picture Hope had and how there are two girls burned exactly the same way. Bo starts a fire and Swamp Girls starts screaming.
6/23 In the bayou, Swamp Girl freaks out at the sight of Bo's campfire. Swamp Girl takes off and Bo goes after her. Bo eventually finds the Swamp Girl washing herself in the water. Bo realizes that Swamp Girl isn't out to hurt anyone, but he needs to come up with a way to gain her trust. Bo takes off his shirt and cuts it up and then cuts his jeans into shorts. The show ends with Bo diving into the swamp.
6/25 In the bayou, Bo is tracking down the Swamp Girl. He decides that she will trust him better if he dresses more like her, so he rips his shirt and cuts his jeans off. He finds her eating some of the food he left and signals her with a bird call. She responds. Bo watches her for a while, but suddenly, she starts to scream. She has a nightmare of Stefano standing over her telling her that he will take care of her. Bo freezes, wondering what is making her scream.
6/26 At Mrs. H's house, Mickey and Shawn-Douglas are setting out chairs for tomorrow's Horton-Brady picnic. While Alice makes a salad, Hope sketches on a pad. Shawn-D walks by and says that he didn't know his mom could draw. Hope says she's just doodling, but everyone takes a look and agrees that she has impressive talent that she never showed before. Hope says it's a painting she saw in a book at Vivian's, and it has something to do with her missing years, but she can't figure out what.
Maggie and Alice recognize the painting as a famous Impressionist work called "Garden at Twilight." They are amazed at how exactly Hope reproduced the painting from memory. Shawn-D says his mom must have been an artist in another lifetime. As Hope finishes the sketch with chalk, she wonders if that is true.
In the swamp, Bo wonders what could make the Swamp Girl scream like that. He's convinced she holds a key to Hope's past. She calms herself down by humming a song Bo recognizes as a special song for him and Hope. Bo cautiously approaches the area, but the Swamp Girl comes to investigate when she hears Bo step on a twig.
He crouches down and throws a candy bar when she is checking out his camping gear. She eats it and Bo starts to make bird calls and hum the song. She responds in kind. She has memories of being chased around the bayou with her face and hands bandaged while she wears a hospital gown, and men say how "he" wouldn't like it if she escaped. Bo cautiously approaches her and reaches out to touch her.
6/29 Alice's backyard is all decked out in red, white & blue for the party. Hope and Alice are there putting on the final touches. Alice comments on Hope's curly hair and says how she likes it. Mike shows up looking low enough to trip over himself. He tells them about what happened the night before and says he is so sorry for causing a scandal and embarrassing the family name. They sit down as he tells his story (what he remembers, anyway).
Hope and Alice are both shocked. Hope says he must've been drugged and wants to help clear his name, but he tells her that Roman and Abe are on the case. Alice assures him that all will be explained and he will be cleared as he continues to beat himself up. Alice says that Tom would have done the same thing (help the lady, that is!) and that he is more and more like his grandfather everyday.
Hope decides to go call Roman and see how it's going, when John arrives. He tells that there were no traces of drugs in the glass and figure that she took the tainted one with her. She used a fake name and address while registering at the Salem Inn. The police have found no trace of her at all and are at a dead end. Alice latches on to Mike and hugs him, saying how sorry she is.
Later, Hope is in the backyard working on her picture. While watching her, John gets this far away look. When she questions him, he says she looks... ...never mind. He looks at her drawing and recognizes the painting as the one they saw at Vivian's. He has done some research on it and says that the artist is Paul Renet and that the original is part of a private collection of impressionist paintings. She tries to figure out just where she could have seen it. She shows him a book of some drawings she did in high school and how different they are. Comments on how odd it is that she can draw now. She wonders if somehow Stefano gave her this talent when he took away her four
years.
6/30 Hope compares a sketch from High School to the one she just did and they are nothing alike. Hope thinks that Stefano must have given her this talent, but she doesn't know why. John tells Hope that he may be able to help her trigger some memories from her past. John tells Hope that he called a professor about studying the photo and he says he's expecting a call back from him.
Hope is thrilled and John tells Hope that it's about time they find out what Stefano has been hiding from them. John gets a call on his cell phone. John talks with the professor and tells Hope that the professor may have given them the clue they're looking for. John tells Hope some cities where the photo of her could have been taken.
When John mentions Lugano, Switzerland, Hope feels something. Hope says she knows exactly what she has to do and Stefano isn't going to like it. Hope tells John that she's going to go to Lugano. John doesn't like the fact that she's going alone, but Hope says Bo needs time to himself and she doesn't want to involve him with her problems anymore. John tells Hope that she needs to be careful.
7/1 Bo is remembering how he scared Swamp Girl when he approached her and now he realizes that he has to take it slow. Swamp Girl is having another nightmare about being chased through the swamp. Swamp Girl starts to walk through the swamp and Bo follows her. Swamp Girl knows she's being followed and picks up a rock to throw at Bo, but then she sees his face and drops it.
Hope comes out of the house and Roman says he just wishes Bo could have been here. Roman tries to calm them down, but he's distracted when John asks to talk to him. John and Roman leave to talk and Billie starts accusing Hope of killing her baby. Hope tells Billie that she has to move on with her life. Billie says she plans to, she plans to make a life with Bo and have another child.
Hope, who has had enough of Billie, attempts to walk away. Billie grabs Hope and tells her not to walk away from her. Billie starts lashing out at Hope until Austin pulls her away. John talks to Hope and she tells him that she wants to go to Lugano now. John goes back to talk with Hope. Both find it odd that Roman and Billie seem to be so close. Later, Hope tells John that she has decided to Lugano and he won't change her mind.
7/6 Billie has realized she lost her compact and is searching all over for it. Billie approaches Roman and sees that he's holding it and she gasps "thank God you found it!" Billie takes her compact and Roman decides to go talk to Sami about her upcoming marriage. Billie grasps the compact and Hope approaches her and asks her what she's doing.
Billie tells Hope she's sitting here thinking about how she should be here with Bo and enjoying her baby, but she's not because of her. Billie tells Hope to leave her the hell alone and walks off. Hope approaches Billie and tells her that there won't be anymore awkward encounters between them because she is leaving to search for her past, alone.
John asks Hope if she's still going to Lugano and she says yes.
Bo approaches Swamp Girl, he has covered his face with mud like she has. Bo wonders if Swamp Girl is using the mud to hide any scars. Bo ends up tripping and falling into some bushes while trying to scare away some critters eating his food, which makes Swamp Girl trust him. Swamp Girl motions him to follow her and they walk off. Swamp Girl gives Bo some of her food. Swamp Girl goes to leave, but Bo stops her and tells her that he wants to thank her. Bo offers to cook the fish she gave him and share it with her, but Swamp Girl runs off.
7/8 Hope is talking with Maggie about Bo. Hope hopes Bo find some peace. Maggie says she hopes Bo and her will find their way back together, but Hope doubts that will happen and doesn't even know if Bo cares about her anymore. Maggie tells Hope that Bo still loves her and doesn't blame her for the death of his baby.
Hope says she isn't so sure about that. Hope switches the subject to her past and talks with Maggie about the sketch she did. Maggie asks Hope if Stefano could have programmed her artistic talent and Hope says it's possible, but she doesn't know why. Hope says she doesn't even know who she is anymore.
Maggie says she's Hope Brady and she knows that. Hope tells Maggie that she didn't see the picture of her after the burns, she didn't even recognize herself. Hope says that Stefano recognized her, but she doesn't know why he turned her into Gina. Hope tells Maggie that she has to find the answers and that's why she's going to Lugano.
Later, Maggie accidentally breaks open Hope's comb and Hope finds some strange markings inside that are similar to the compact. Upon investigating, Hope finds that the comb was made in Lugano, Switzerland.
In the bayou, Bo is wondering about Swamp Girl. Bo starts thinking about Hope and what she's doing. Bo hopes that she hasn't gone off to search for her past nor done something drastic without thinking. Swamp Girl spies on Bo from the bushes and Bo tells her to come closer and share his dinner. Swamp Girl sees the fire and remembers an explosion and starts screaming.
Bo calms her down and tells her that he didn't mean to scare her. Bo starts telling Swamp Girl about his old life was, before he made a mess of it. Bo asks Swamp Girl about herself and Swamp Girl gets ready to run, so Bo says she doesn't have to talk. Bo asks her to stay and be his friend. Bo plays "Tonight I Celebrate My Love" on a portable radio and recalls dancing with Hope to the song.
Swamp Girl also remembers dancing with a man to the same song. Swamp Girl suddenly runs back into the bayou. Alone, Swamp Girl begins to sob. Bo finds her and tries to comfort her, but she runs off again.
7/13 John is thinking about the sketch Hope made at the Brady-Horton picnic. John tells Marlena, that he keeps seeing a painting that Hope drew. John says that the painting brought up dark secrets from his own past. John believes he is linked to this painting as well, he just doesn't know how or why.
Hope is getting ready to leave for Lugano. Alice doesn't like the idea of Hope going alone, or the fact that she's going at all. Hope tells her grandmother not to worry, she'll be fine. However, Alice says Bo was always with her before. Hope says she and Bo are not together, so she must do this on her own.
Maggie shows up and gives her a book on the Impressionists, which could spark some clues. The book indicates that Paul Renee, the artist who drew Garden at Twilight, was born in Lugano. Hope suddenly realizes that she forgot to call John about the comb.
Hope calls John, who his still with Marlena, and tells him about the comb. Hope says that she's leaving for Lugano today. John tells her that she can take his jet and she thanks him. Hope goes to the airport and boards John's plane. While sitting on the plane, Hope recalls listening to the waltz and looking into her compact as fireworks explode outside.
7/14 Bo sets up a shelter in the Bayou as a storm rolls into the swamp. Bo wonders what happened to Swamp Girl to force her to hide out in the bayou. Bo begins smearing mud on his face and wonders if Swamp Girl was burned and left the hospital before her surgery was complete because she overheard something about Hope at the hospital, something Stefano didn't want her to know.
Swamp Girl shows up and she and Bo play an odd game of hide-n-seek. Bo ends up falling into the water and Swamp Girl laughs. Bo asks Swamp Girl if she can speak, but she doesn't answer. Swamp Girl walks off and the screams. Bo goes after her and finds her trapped in some quicksand. Bo hands her a tree branch and manages to pull her out. Bo tells her maybe she should go to the river and wash herself up. Bo follows her, hoping she'll wash her face. Bo hides as she washes herself.
Bo approaches her, she's at the forked tree (where it meets the river). Bo asks if this is her special place and she nods. Bo tells her about his and Hope's special place, the Fancy Face. Bo tells Swamp Girl about how he believed Hope had died years back and fills her in his problems. He tells her that Hope stayed in a hospital down here recovering from terrible scars.
Bo goes on and tells Swamp Girl about how Hope was told she went on and on about the bayou, but Hope knows nothing of this place. Bo says he thinks she was the one in the hospital talking about the bayou, not Hope. Swamp Girl tries to leave, but Bo stops her and tells her that he needs answers that could change both of their lives forever. Bo tells Swamp Girl that he doesn't want to hurt her, he wants to help her. Bo asks her to tell him what she knows about Hope.
John and Hope are on John's jet and are flying to Lugano. Hope tells John while she was waiting for the plane to take off she had a flashback of being Gina. Hope tells John that she saw herself looking into the compact and felt someone watching her, so she turned around. John asks who she saw, but she can't remember.
John tells Hope that he wanted to come with her from the beginning, but he didn't want to leave Doc behind. Hope says he should have brought her, but he tells her she wanted to stay behind because of Sami. Hope says she's so happy that he and Marlena have gotten back together, unlike her and Bo. John tells Hope not to give up on Bo because she can overcome any obstacle that comes up.
7/15 John and Hope are walking around the streets of Lugano. Hope wants to find out what she did those four lost years and she also tells John that they will learn something about his past as well. John tells Hope that they should concentrate on her for now. Hope spots a man leaving an antiques store and she rushes over to talk to him. The man lets Hope and John in and asks them what do they want? Hope shows him the comb and he tells her that he recognizes the comb and her.
The store owner says that the piece was made by the Swiss silversmith Barton Dejean and each piece is one of a kind. Hope asks to see Dejean, but learns he's been dead for years. The man says all of Dejean's work are in art museums or private collections. He asks Hope how she got it and Hope says it was given to her, so she was told. The man says that is impossible because he knows this comb and the only way they could have it is if they stole it. The man says that he has to report them to the police.
7/16 Out in the Swamp, Wayne and Earl find Bo's motorcycle and realize he's here to find Swamp Girl. A major storm is brewing, so they decide return to their house.
Meanwhile, Bo tells Swamp Girl about Hope and asks her if she was in the hospital. Before she can answer, a shotgun goes off. Swamp Girl and Bo hide as Wayne and Earl start searching the swamp for Bo. Swamp Girl signals to Wayne and Earl and they tell her about the man who is looking for her and says he's with the people who were searching for her before. Suddenly, a fire starts and Wayne and Earl go to take care of it.
Swamp Girl then runs off and starts searching through Bo's things and finds a picture of Stefano. Swamp Girl then uses the knife to cut up some of Bo's jeans as he watches from the bushes. Swamp Girl eventually gets into a sleeping bag and goes to sleep.
In Lugano, John and Hope stop the antique dealer from calling the cops. Hope assures him that she was given the comb, but she doesn't say why. Hope pulls out her wallet and assures the man they can rectify this without the police. The man tells her he doesn't take bribes, but Hope was pulling out her police badge. Hope explains everything to the man about the comb and how she got it. He asks her if she had a brush, but she says no.
John said she had a compact, but the man says that wasn't part of the collection.
Hope begs the man to give her a lead as to who really owns the comb. He refuses to say anything and insists on calling the police. A mysterious woman shows up and the man tells Hope that he will return the comb to the proper owner and if they leave, they won't go to jail.
John and Hope leave and see the man give the comb to the mysterious woman.
The woman leaves and they follow her to a very elegant house. John panics and thinks this could be a trap and convinces Hope to return in the morning. Suddenly, John realizes that this building is the one she's posing in front if in the photo!
7/17 Hope has a nightmare about being chased through the streets of Lugano, only to end up running into Stefano. Bo shows up and Hope begs him to help her, but he tells her that he doesn't know who she is. Hope says she's his wife, but Bo says Hope is dead. Stefano tells "Gina" that Hope is dead and she belongs to him. Hope wakes up and John knocks on her door and brings her breakfast. Hope tells John that she has a feeling that after today her life is going to change, forever.
John and Hope go back to the house. John tells Hope to follow his lead. John rings the doorbell and tells the butler that they are in town conducting research on architecture and they came all this way to see this house. John and Hope are eventually let in and the butler fetches the lady of the house, Ms. Faversham. Hope suddenly begins to hear the haunting waltz. Hope doesn't recognize this place, but for some reason, John does.
Ms. Faversham comes out to speak with John and Hope. John tells Ms. Faversham that his friend, Hope, was in possession of her silver comb. Ms. Faversham says she doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. Hope tells Ms. Faversham that they saw a woman bring the comb into this house. Ms. Faversham says they must be speaking of Lucille, but she doesn't know anything about a comb. Ms. Faversham looks at Hope and asks her to come closer. Ms. Faversham gasps and calls Hope "Princess Gina."
Bo searches for Swamp Girl. Bo finds a grass dummy of himself made out of his clothes. This is what Swamp Girl was stabbing yesterday, I take it.
Meanwhile, Swamp Girl is still remembering being in the hospital and seeing Stefano leaning over her, promising to take care of her. Next she has a vision of seeing Bo hanging upside down from a tree and he's dead.
Swamp Girl wakes up suddenly from her nightmares and goes over to a mound of dirt and uncovers and opens a box. Later, a storm comes up and it begins to rain. Swamp Girl sees Bo standing in the rain and the mud washes off his face. Swamp Girl takes one look at him and screams "Bo!"
7/20 Hope questions Mrs. Faversham (who is delighted to see Gina again) and they hug. Hope stands there in shock. She tells Hope that she has not seen her in years and is overjoyed. She says that there was a ball one night and the next day, she just disappeared. John asks her if she knows Stefano DiMera and she says no, never heard of
him.
Hope asks her if she looks different and we see her in a lavender Cinderella-type gown with a crown. Her hair is up and it has blond streaks in it. Mrs. Faversham is sure it is her. Hope just smiles at her, but wants to know more. John questions her about the "Princess" but Mrs. Faversham scolds him and tells him that he is in the presence of royalty. She says that in those days Gina was the talk of the town and that no ball was complete without her.
Hope asks if she had any friends still in town. Mrs. Faversham gets this strange look on her face and says that her memory isn't what it used to be. Hope asks her about the comb and again, she draws a blank. She asks her about the compact and any photos she may have from those days. She says she remembers one night that Gina was with someone...but Lucille (her maid) comes in and thanks them for returning the comb.
She asks Hope who she is and Mrs. Faversham is shocked and informs her that it's Gina. Lucille says "I thought you..." but Hope interrupts her and says "I'm back and ready to pick up the pieces of my life!" Lucille pulls Hope and John aside and tells them that Mrs. Faversham's mind kind of comes and goes, and not to believe what she is telling them.
A few minutes later, Lucille suggests that she take her nap and Mrs. Faversham mistakes John for Hans (her butler). Before she leaves, Hope asks her if she can return and Mrs. Faversham agrees. Hope and John leave and Mrs. Faversham says how wonderful it was to see Princess Gina again. Lucille says "I'm sure" and looks in John and Hope's direction with an troubled look on her face.
Outside, Hope is excited but John cautions her but Hope is optimistic at the fact that the Mrs. Faversham recognized her. As they leave, Lucille watches them from the window.
As the mud washes from Bo's face she recognizes him and screams "BO!" His eyes fly open and he begins to question her, wanting to know how she knows who he is. She puts more mud on her face and only stares at him. He keeps questioning her and asks her what her name is. He asks her if she knows Hope and who she is. He begs for her help. She says his name again and he asks her again what her name is.
She says "I'm....." but before she finishes, he is struck by lightening He falls to the ground and she runs to him crying and screaming "NO...NOOOOO!" She cries over him and rubs his head and finally ends up dragging him off into the woods. She takes him back to his camp and covers him up and keeps watch over him. In his sleep, he calls for Hope as she continues to cry. He calls for Hope again and with her hand over her heart, she smiles.
7/21 John is trying to tell Hope that Ms. Faversham may be confusing her with Princess Gina. Hope, however, won't listen to him because she's sure Ms. Faversham was right. They then talk about Lucille and they both got the feeling that Lucille didn't want them talking to Ms. Faversham.
John and Hope go into town and Hope thinks dressing up like a princess will help Ms. Faversham remember, or perhaps it will trigger her own memories. John and Hope sit down and talk. Hope decides to go shopping and John says he'll check out some of the newspapers for articles about Gina and info on Ms. Faversham.
At Ms. Faversham's house, she is remembering the last time Princess Gina was here. Hope goes shopping for some princess-like outfits. She goes into a clothing store with a copy of Bella and asks him where she could find gowns like the ones in Bella.
7/22 In Lugano, Billie and Hope have bumped into each other in a clothing store. Billie says she's here on business and Hope tells Billie that she's researching her past. Billie chuckles and says that it would be funny if she learned she destroyed other peoples' pasts as well. Hope asks Billie if there isn't some way they can see each other without arguing, but Billie says no way.
Billie tells Hope that she'll torment her every time she sees her. Hope asks Billie what she wants and Billie says "I want my baby back and Bo too dammit!" Hope tells Billie that she thinks it's best that they keep their distance. Hope asks one of the women at the store to let her look at a silver compact in the showcase. Billie listens in on Hope's questions about the compact and realizes that she has the one Hope is looking for. Billie chuckles with the fact that she has an important clue.
Swamp Girl is taking care of Bo, who is out cold. Bo keeps calling out for Hope and how much he loves her. Swamp Girl begs Bo to wake up because she has to tell him something. Swamp Girls starts clinging to Bo when he suffers spasms and she begs him not to die. Swamp Girl says if she only knew and then tells Bo that she needs him to wake up. Either Bo or Swamp Girl has a flashback to the cage in which Hope died in during the explosion.
Swamp Girl starts telling Bo that it's not over. Bo starts mumbling about the compact and Swamp Girl runs away to try to find it, but it's gone. Suddenly, Swamp Girl has her own flashback about the compact. She sees a woman with shoulder length brown hair looking into it (too short to be Hope's, according to Hope's flashbacks).
After that woman puts it down, a woman in bandages picks it up and looks at her own face and sees the bandages. Swamp Girl returns to Bo and apologizes for everything. She tells him that there is something he needs to know. Suddenly, Wayne and Earl grab and drag Swamp Girl off.
7/23 Billie realizes that the compact she has is Hope's, when she believed she was Gina. Billie asks Hope what is so important about the compact and Hope asks why she's so interested? Billie says that she's not really interested, just curious. Billie offers to help and Hope asks her if this is a joke? Billie says no, all she has to do is describe the compact.
Hope gives her the info about the compact and her suspicions about who may have given it to her. Hope starts to ask Billie questions as to why she's here, but Billie says that is none of her business. Billie is delighted that she has Hope's compact, the clue that could lead to secrets to her past.
Hope shows John the gown she likes and he tells her that she looks amazing. The store clerk comments "she's a princess." Hope asks if the clerk knows her, but she says she was only saying that she looks like a princess in that gown.
Later, Hope tells John that she ran into Billie before he showed up. Hope tells John that she wants to go see Ms. Faversham now, hopefully she'll remember something now that she's dressed like a princess.
7/24 Wayne and Earl have captured Swamp Girl and she screams at Bo to wake up. Bo finally comes to and goes after Wayne and Earl who have Swamp Girl.
In the clothing store, John tells Hope that he doesn't know if they can trust Ms. Faversham. Hope asks why he'd say that and John tells her that he has discovered that Ms. Faversham has a history of mental illness. John tells her that she has suffered from depression for years. Hope asks what else he knows and John tells her that her family has lived in Lugano for generations and they own their own bank.
Still, Hope wants to see Ms. Faversham right away. Hope purchases the dress and John says he's going back to the hotel to see if his friend has anymore info about Ms. Faversham. John and "Princess Gina" return to Ms. Faversham's place (Hope looks amazing!) and find themselves standing right in front of Billie and Roman!
7/27 Bo has finally come to, but he keeps passing out. He makes his way to Wayne and Earl's and passes out. Wayne was about to shoot Bo, but Erlene stops him and asks Wayne to bring Bo inside. Wayne asks why she cares about Bo and Erlene says if he's with the people at the mansion and doesn't return, the people will send others to look for him. Wayne and Earl go back to the house and Bo keeps asking for Hope. Bo dreams of horsing around with Hope, but then Hope turns into Swamp Girl.
At Ms Faversham's place, Hope and John show up and see Roman and Billie. Hope calls "Jesse Bob" Roman and Lucile asks why? Roman covers and says that they were talking about Rome and how he's feeling like a Roman lately. Roman introduces himself and Billie to Hope and John.
Lucile tells Hope that she's surprised to see her back. Hope asks Lucille to tell Ms. Faversham that Princess Gina is here. Billie begins to laugh and mutters Princess Gina? Lucille says Ms. Faversham is resting because of a coughing spell. Still, Hope asks Lucile to check on Ms. Faversham and ask if she is up to seeing her.
Lucile leaves and John asks Roman what is up, which is what Hope would like to know. Suddenly, John realizes that Roman and Billie are undercover for the ISA. Roman asks why they are here and John and Hope explain. Roman tells them that he met Ms. Faversham years before, when she was very lucid. Ms. Faversham shows up and is delighted that she has company. Ms. Faversham looks at Hope in her dress and is reminded of a party a long time ago.
Hope asks her to tell her about the party. Ms. Faversham tells Hope that she was wearing a dress very similar to the one she's wearing now. Ms. Faversham looks at John and says he looks familiar and becomes upset, when she can't remember him exactly. Lucile suggest they leave, but Ms. Faversham says no and asks everyone to stay for dinner.
Everyone agrees and Ms. Faversham asks Lucile to go help cook prepare a splendid dinner. Lucile brings out some champagne and spikes one of the drinks. Meanwhile, Ms. Faversham tells Hope that she was the object of many men's affection, but she was true to one man only. Hope asks who that was and Ms. Faversham tells her that he's right here in this room.
7/28 As Ms. Faversham tells Hope the man she loved is in the room, Lucile drugs Hope's champagne. Lucile mumbles that Princess Gina should never have come back here. Ms. Faversham realizes that she has made a mistake, Princess Gina's lover isn't here. Lucile serves the champagne, but Ms. Faversham can't drink the champagne.
Hope suggests she join Ms. Faversham in a drink of mineral water, but Lucile says Ms. Faversham would want her to drink the champagne. Ms. Faversham says that she does want Princess Gina to enjoy herself and tells her to drink the champagne.
As Hope raises the glass to her mouth, she stops and runs across the room to look at a picture. The picture is of Ms. Faversham with her late husband, the Duke of Windiam. Lucile says that dinner is served, so they all go to eat. Hope leaves her champagne behind, and Billie almost drinks it, but Lucille stops her.
Billie lags behind everyone else getting to the dinner table and wonders about Hope. Billie hopes that if Hope finds her long lost four years, maybe she'll stay out of her and Bo's lives. Billie goes to the dining room and Ms. Faversham tells stories about Princess Gina.
Ms. Faversham tells everyone that Princess Gina was like a daughter to her and nobody ever made her feel the way that the princess did, which is why she is so happy to have her back. Billie starts asking all sorts of questions about Princess Gina, but "Jesse Bob" tells her not to be so nosey. Ms. Faversham says she really doesn't remember how Princess Gina came into her title. Lucile leaves the room to get Hans to clear the table and Billie leaves to powder her nose.
Ms. Faversham starts talking about all she's gotten back today and asks what happened to the brush. John says it was lost in a fire. John asks about why the antique dealer told them the comb was stolen, but Ms. Faversham said he was just trying to protect her. She says that she did give the comb and brush to Princess Gina.
John starts to question her more, but Roman drags him out to have a cigar and warns John to back off. John tells Roman that he doesn't really care about the ISA, he only cares about Hope. However, Roman and John realize that they could both benefit by working together.
Meanwhile, Billie finds Lucile going through Hope's purse. Billie asks Lucile what she thinks she's doing. Lucile says that she thought the Princess might have needed it. Hope comes in and Lucille gives her her purse and goes to get Ms. Faversham's medicine. Billie and Hope start arguing about Billie's interest in her past. Hope asks about Billie's involvement with Roman and the ISA, but she says she's not at liberty to divulge such things.
Later, Hope asks about Ms. Faverham their past together. Ms. Faversham says that she loved art and used to sit and look at "Garden of Twilight. Hope asks if she can see the painting, but Roman tells her that the painting was stolen a few years ago.
7/29 Hope is shocked to hear that "Garden at Twilight" was stolen. Ms. Faversham says it breaks her heart because she was going to leave that painting and the rest of her estate to Princess Gina. Hope drinks her laced champagne and Billie starts talking to her about how interesting it must be to be a princess.
Hope becomes woozy and John asks her if she's okay, Hope tells him that she is fine. Ms. Faversham suggests they retire to the drawing room, so they all leave the table. Ms. Faversham plays some music and Hope suggests they recreate one of their parties. Ms. Faversham says that she doesn't do that any longer because her protectors fear she may embarrass herself.
Both Hope and Billie say that a party sounds great, as does Roman who offers to invite all the bigwigs in Lugano. Lucile says that a party is not possible, but Ms. Faversham says she thinks she's up to the challenge of hosting a party. Hope asks Ms. Faversham if she has any pictures of past parties and Ms. Faversham says she has slides and asks Hans to set the projector up.
Lucile shows up with Hope's champagne and tells her she left it back at the table. Ms. Faversham starts showing slides, but Princess Gina is not in any of the slides. Ms. Faversham asks Lucile if she knows where the pictures of Princess Gina are and Lucile says she wasn't working for her when this party occurred and she doesn't recall seeing any pictures of her ever. Suddenly, Hope passes out and Ms. Faversham exclaims "Princess Gina!”!
Down in the bayou, Bo comes to and finds that he's tied up to the bed. Bo pretends to be sleeping when Wayne and Earl come to check up on him. Wayne and Earl plan on offing Bo, but they hush up when Erlene comes in to check on Bo. Erlene tells her kids that Bo needs rest and tells them to leave.
Erlene puts a cloth on his head and leaves and Bo starts to work towards getting free. Later Erlene tells Bo that she has to leave to take care of someone’s child. Wayne and Earl promise her that they will take real good care of Bo!
Dvd #35B Roman gets some smelling salts and Hope wakes back up. John wants to take Hope back to the hotel, but Hope says that she is okay. Lucile says that it is late and Ms. Faversham needs her rest, so the party comes to an end. Ms. Faversham tells Hope that she will find the pictures of her. Roman tells Billie to keep everyone busy while he plants a bug in the house. While Roman is trying to plant the bug, Lucile catches him and asks what he's doing. Roman says he was just going to steal the last bon-bon.
Hope and John go outside and Hope says the night air is making her feel better. Roman comes out as does Billie and Hope says she almost felt like Princess Gina tonight. Roman says what upsets him is that Stefano may be involved because he's connected to Ms. Faversham somehow through Gina. Roman, Billie, John, and Hope leave and Lucile watches them go. Lucille tells herself that next time she'll take care of Princess Gina for good.
Hope and John go back to the hotel and Hope tells John that she's getting worried that nobody else recognizes her other than Ms. Faversham. Hope says she thinks Lucille doesn't want her around and John says that is why he thinks Stefano is connected to the house. Hope also wonders if the great love of her life Ms. Faversham told her about was Bo. John tells Hope that it's possible that she had no memories of Bo when she was Gina. Hope wonders if that is true, who this love of her life could be.
7/31 Bo manages to escape, but when he finds Swamp Girl, she is afraid to trust him, thinking that he is working with the bad men.
8/3 Bo is trying to get swamp girl to trust him again and undo all the damage that he knows Wayne and Earl have caused. She hovers in the corner and moans and groans. He talks about the night when she almost opened up to him, but the closer he gets to her the more she groans. He talks about how he was hit by lightening and how she saved him from Wayne and Earl, watching over him.
He says she trusted him once, why can't they try again. She finally allows him to untie her but scoots away. He sees parts of his motorcycle scattered around the shed and becomes upset. He tells her that they took it apart to prevent them from escaping. He asks her about her time in the hospital as she has flashbacks of being in bandages and seeing Stefano.
When he mentions Stefano DiMera's name, she becomes agitated. Bo asks her who she is afraid of and she says she is afraid of Bo. Bo continues to argue his case and tells her that he only wants to help the woman he loves is Hope. He says he has never given up on Hope and he won't give up on her either.
He breaks the lock on the cage with a sledgehammer and tries to help her out of the cage, but she swats at him. Wayne, hog-tied on the floor curses Bo and says he will make him pay. Swamp girl comes out of the cage and Bo tells her that they need to get out of there. Bo opens the shed door to find Wayne standing there with the barrel of a gun pointed up his nose.
John and Hope are all working on their theories. John and Hope talk about the stolen painting and wonder if Stefano is involved. John did some checking and found out that at the time that Mrs. Faversham's things were stolen was around the same time that they were all in Maison Blanche. He cautions that even though Stefano wasn't directly involved, he has people all over the world. They also talk about Billie and Roman's behavior and how well they are playing the lovers. Hope wonders if there is more to it than what they are telling.
They also talk about the night that John rescued Hope at Maison Blanche and went to the inn to find Bo & Billie. Hope comments as to how that night changed everyone's lives forever. Hope also feels guilty because John is helping her find her missing years when so much of his own life is missing. They wonder if Stefano created Gina, why it would be a princess? Why not someone with a lower profile? Hope has a theory that Stefano found her like he claimed and didn't know who she was until they were into the reconstructive surgery.
When he realized it was Hope, he brainwashed her with the real Gina's memories. John suggests that maybe she really IS Gina and Hope strongly disagrees. She says that Alice knew who she was immediately and reminds him of the puzzle box. She becomes agitated and says that she had memories that even Stefano could NEVER have known about. She is positive she is Hope.
They finally come to the conclusion that she and the REAL Gina must have resembled each other and Stefano decided to use her to take the place of the real Gina. They wonder where she is and if she is still alive. Later, John tells her that he did some research and found out that the nephew of Paul Renet (the artist) lives near Lugano and they decide to visit Maurice Renet and see if he recognizes Gina.
Later, the foursome meet up in the lobby. Hope asks her about her outfit and wonders just where she got it. Billie asks if they are going to see Mrs. Faversham. John tells them they are going for a ride in the country. To which Billie replies "Well, be careful cause last time I went for a ride in the country, after having a fight with someone, the results were tragic". Roman hustles Billie on out of there before there is a catfight.
After they leave, Hope turns her back to John and asks him if there is a knife there and to pull out. Then she makes cat hissing sounds and imitates a cat taking a swipe at something. He basically tells her to ignore Billie, it's her problem and she will have to deal with it.
As John goes to rent a car, Hope hears the "Stefano Waltz" and sees images of the painting. Two nuns come in and start talking and looking at Hope. Nope, it's NOT Hope they are looking at...it's JOHN! They approach him and one of them calls him "Father" and they say it's wonderful to see him again.
8/4 Wayne has a shotgun pointed right at Bo. Wayne starts telling Swamp Girl that Bo isn't her friend, but Bo asks her not to listen to Wayne. Swamp Girl stands with Bo and Bo tells Wayne that if he lets Swamp Girl go, he will stay with him as his prisoner. Earl shows up and also helps try to turn Swamp Girl away from him by saying Bo is with the people who want to take her away. Bo asks what people, but Wayne tells him he knows the people because he works for them, or used to work for them.
Bo begs Swamp Girl to trust her heart. Wayne goes to shoot Bo and tells Swamp Girl that he's doing this for her own good. Swamp Girl manages to distract Wayne and Bo charges him. Wayne's shotgun goes off and Swamp Girl screams. Bo and Swamp Girl run into the swamp and Wayne and Earl follow. Swamp Girl ends up getting her foot caught in some vines and Bo struggles to free her.
8/5 John and Hope are driving out to meet Renet's grandson. John is distant and Hope wants to know why. John says that two nuns at the hotel recognized him as father and Hope says this is a clue to his past. Hope and John show up at the Renet estate and meet with Maurice Renet. John asks Maurice if he ever went to Ms. Faversham's parties and he said he went to some, but not many. However, he says he's had many dealings with Ms. Faversham over the years.
Hope says it was such a tragedy that "Garden at Twilight" was stolen and John asks if he has any idea who stole it. Maurice says he doesn't have a clue and nobody can seem to locate it. Maurice then starts talking about the last party he had with Ms. Faversham and John asks if he has photographs. Maurice does and he gets them.
Hope looks at the picture and says, "This is amazing!" John asks what she found and she shows him the picture. In the back is John, sporting long hair and a beard, resembling a Sasquatch actually, and John sees himself and says "Oh my god, it's me!"
8/6 Wayne and Earl continue to chase Bo and Swamp Girl, taking shots at them. Swamp Girl tells Bo to trust her and leads him to a rocky cave entrance and deep into the cave. Wayne and Earl pursue, but can't find them. As they come up to a drop off, Bo looks over and loses his balance, falling, as Swamp Girl watches in horror.
8/7 In Lugano, Lucille uses her master key from when she was a maid at Hope's hotel to break into Hope's room, looking for evidence that Hope is a fraud trying to inherit Ms. Faversham's estate. She is almost caught by a hotel maid coming out of John's room, but pretends she is just delivering invitations.
Lucille discovers the picture of Hope in front of Ms. Faversham's house, but decides it might have been taken yesterday and just made to look old. She swears that this Princess Gina fraud will not waltz right in and inherit everything Lucille was supposed to get, not after Lucille put up with the crazy old lady all these years.
John and Hope arrive back at the Faversham’s and Billie answers the door. John explains that they were at Maurice Renet's estate trying to dig up information about Princess Gina. Roman asks if they found anything, and Hope says there was nothing about her, but they found out something about John.
John shows them the picture of Ms. Faversham with a much younger John black, bearded and long-haired, in the background. John says it must have been taken from before Hope's time in Lugano, because he was in Salem the entire time Hope was missing.
While they are trying to figure out what it means, Ms. Faversham comes in and is delighted to have company, especially Princess Gina. John asks her if she remembers the auctions at the Renet estate. She says of course, and Princess Gina remembers them, too, but Hope reminds her that there were auctions for years before they ever met.
John asks her if she remembers an American priest being at the auctions, and after thinking about it, she says yes, and he was handsome, too. John shows her the picture and asks if this is the man, and she says yes, but she hasn't seen him in over 15 years. As John is digesting this information, Lucille comes in and proclaims that Princess Gina is a fraud, and she has proof. She holds up Hope's passport.
8/10 Lucille shows Ms. Faversham's Hope's passport to prove that Hope is a fake. Ms. Faversham asks Hope if this is true and Hope says that it is her passport. Hope says she can explain everything, but Lucille tries to push Ms. Faversham out of the room. However, Roman convinces Lucille to let Hope explain herself. Hope tells Ms. Faversham her story about how she is Hope Williams, but is missing four years of her life and she has come to Lugano to recover those four years.
Ms. Faversham is hurt and asks Hope why she should believe she's telling her the truth now. Lucille accuses Hope of wanting Ms. Faversham's fortune, but Hope and John say that she only wants to find her past. Ms. Faversham says that she was so happy to have Princess Gina back in her life because she loved her like a daughter. Ms. Faversham starts to cry and tells Hope that she's heard enough and decides to leave. Hope stops her and says she doesn't want her money, she just wants to know about her life as Gina.
Roman says that he can spot a con and he says that this woman isn't conning her. Hope asks Ms. Faversham to look into her eyes and her heart and she'll see that she's not lying. Hope tells Ms. Faversham that she'll find a way to prove that she is Princess Gina. Lucille tells them all to leave, but suddenly Ms. Faversham says she knows how she can prove that Hope is or isn't Princess Gina.
8/11 Bo ends ups falling down a crevice in the cave that they were hiding in. Wayne and Earl make their way into the cave. Swamp Girl lowers herself down the hole that Bo fell into just as Wayne and Earl almost find her. Bo asks Swamp Girl where they are and she tells him there's no time to explains and tells him to follow her.
Bo goes light a lighter, but then apologizes when he remembers she doesn't like fire. Swamp Girl hands her a lantern and he asks where are they. Swamp Girl realizes that if Bo doesn't know where they are, then he doesn't work for the "bad man." Swamp Girl leads Bo through the underground maze. Bo starts telling Swamp Girl that somehow they are connected and he knows how. Bo says that he knows the pain she has been through.
Ms. Faversham says she knows how she can prove Hope is Princess Gina. Everyone asks how and Ms. Faversham says she, like her royal ancestors, all have a special birthmark. Hope says she doesn't have a birthmark. Ms. Faversham gives Hope a mirror and shows her the birthmark on the back of her head, behind her ear.
Hope is shocked, but Lucille objects. Ms. Faversham says that Princess Gina is back and deserves her heritage and her place in this house. Ms. Faversham wants to hold a ball, but Hope says she needs time to think and leaves. John follows her and apologizes to Ms. Faversham.
Hope is upset and wonders if the birthmark is a scar from the surgery, but John says it is a birthmark. John suggests she call Doug and Julie, but Hope says they are on a boat, as she tried calling them yesterday. Hope looks at the picture of her and wonders who the woman in the pictures is. Roman and Billie show up and Hope starts crying that maybe she's not Hope.
Hope runs off and Roman tells John that Hope needs time to think. Billie utters under her breath that maybe they should call her Gina. Billie decides to leave and John and Roman start talking about Stefano's link to Princess Gina/Hope.
Hope goes to her hotel room and starts looking at her birthmark. She then looks at a picture of her, Bo, and Shawn D and wonders if she's even Shawn D's mother. Billie shows up and says that she was concerned for her, but then starts saying "What if the Horton's aren't her family." Hope says this is all of Stefano's doing, but Billie says she's not so sure about that.
Billie says that what if she is Princess Gina, but was made to become Hope by Stefano. Hope insists she is Hope, but Billie says even when she first returned to Salem, Bo wasn't convinced that she was Hope. Billie starts saying how it's very possible that she's not Bo's husband or the mother of his child. Hope screams at Billie to leave. On her way out, Billie says "Goodbye Hope, or should I call you Princess Gina?" Hope sits down and starts crying and wondering who she is.
Back at Ms. Faversham's house, Ms. Faversham tells Lucile that she has to plan a ball for Gina and must rewrite her will and leave everything to Gina. After she leaves, Lucille says she can't let her do that.
8/12 Hope is still looking at her birthmark and wondering. Hope suddenly remembers herself with Ms. Faversham and she's staring at her birthmark then and is fascinated by it. Princess Gina then looks at 'Garden at Twilight' and Ms. Faversham tells her that she wants her to have the painting. Hope returns to the present and looks into the mirror and asks herself who she is.
Marlena and John show up and Hope shows Marlena her birthmark. Hope is again, doubting her identity. John points out that the doctor in New Orleans identified her, but Hope says she could have been mistaken for another burn victim at the hospital at the same time, and perhaps she was never even operated on.
Roman shows up with the file on Princess Gina and is shocked to see Marlena there. Roman explains to her that he and Billie are undercover for the ISA. Roman returns to the reason he came here and tells Hope about the file on Gina, but there are no photos of Princess Gina in the file.
Ms. Faversham calls "Gina" and says that she must see her immediately. Hope was packing, but agrees to go. John asks her if she wants him to go with her, but Hope says this is something she wants to do on her own. Hope goes to see Ms. Faversham, who has sent Lucille away.
Bo and Swamp Girl are still underground and Bo is wondering about Swamp Girl and why he feels connected to her. Suddenly, Swamp Girl screams and wakes up. Bo starts wondering who built this underground labyrinth and why. Swamp Girl tells herself that if Bo worked for the people across the river he'd know what this place is. Swamp Girl takes Bo deeper into the labyrinth to a room with tons of canned goods and a kitchen.
Bo sees Swamp Girl eating string beans out of the can and recalls Hope doing the same thing while she was pregnant. Bo starts telling Swamp Girl about Hope and how he wants to recapture what they once had. Bo finds a radio and turns it on and they start talking about the world. Bo tells Swamp Girl that he's never seen what she looks like without the mud and asks her to show him her face.
8/13 In Lugano, Ms. Faversham tries to comfort Hope, who is beginning to believe she might be Princess Gina. Hope says that Ms. Faversham reminds her of her grandmother, Alice Horton, back in Salem, because she always makes her feel better. Ms. Faversham is touched, and says that she wants Princess Gina to accompany her to Bulgaria, to Count Oleska's annual art gala, which they attended together in the past.
Hope is reluctant at first, but finally agrees to go. Ms. Faversham says they need to go shopping so that Princess Gina can once again be the talk of the town, wearing the most beautiful gowns and jewels. Lucille is appalled and vows that she will never let this happen.
8/14 In Lugano, Ms. Faversham runs off to get something for Princess Gina. While she's gone, Lucille tells Hope she must not go to Bulgaria with Ms. Faversham, who is ill and should not leave the house. While they are arguing, Ms. Faversham returns and presents a gift of exquisite diamond hairpins to Hope, saying nothing is too good for Princess Gina.
Hope accepts them and the dressmaker and hairstylist arrive to make her over. She tries on a succession of lavish gowns and suits, and Ms. Faversham is delighted that she now looks just like the Princess Gina she remembers.
Lucille is furious and wonders if she can stop Ms. Faversham's foolishness by mixing her medications. When Hope comes out in a spectacular ball gown with a tiara in her hair, Ms. Faversham is thrilled until she suddenly starts gasping. Hope is alarmed, while Lucille watches from across the room.
In the bayou, Bo clowns around as he cooks up a meal of canned vegetables for himself and Swamp Girl. She is relaxed and laughs at his silly antics. When they're done, he says they need to find something to entertain themselves, since they don't know how long they'll be stuck down here. She leads him to a dank, musty library in the catacombs.
There are shelves of books and old furniture scattered around, and she tells him that she comes here often to read or to borrow a book, which she always returns. Bo is amazed to find a private library down under the ground. He finds a volume of Shakespeare and opens it up to Romeo and Juliet, remarking that it was Hope's favorite play, and she used to make him sit down and read it with her.
On impulse, Bo asks Swamp Girl to read it with him. They start from the balcony scene, and Bo is impressed and surprised when Swamp Girl recites Juliet's lines from memory, and with a great deal of feeling. They end with the scene in the crypt, and Swamp Girl dramatically portrays Juliet killing herself over Romeo's body. Bo tells her that was amazing, and gives her a hug.
8/17 As Mrs. Faversham passes out, Hope tells Lucille to call an ambulance. Hope pleads for God not to let her die as she and Claire work with her. The doctor shows up and Mrs. F admits that her vision is blurry. Claire excuses herself and leaves and Lucille tells Hope to get out of the way and let the doctor examine Mrs. Faversham.
Afterwards, the doctor says it seems to be a medication problem. Mrs. Faversham swears that she only took one pill. Lucille makes a cutting remark aimed at Hope of how SHE puts Mrs. Faversham's interests ahead of her own. Later, Hope assures the doctor that she will watch after her while on their trip. Lucille tries to get the doctor to discourage the trip, but he doesn't.
Rolf assures Stefano that John and Gina will never remember what they erased from their minds. Stefano says it had better last forever. After he is gone, Rolf expresses his own doubts and worries about what will happen when the millennium hits if the computers will be confused, as then John and Hope may remember everything!
8/18 Ms. Faversham tells Lucille that she is going on the trip with Gina and she is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Lucille points out that she collapsed from mixing her medication, but Ms. Faversham said she only took one pill and only collapsed after the tea she brought her, which sparks Hope's attention.
Ms. Faversham looks at her bottle of pills and then can't remember if she took one or two pills. The doctor tells her that she must take the right amount of medicine. Hope says that she'll be with Ms. Faversham on the trip and will look out for her. Ms. Faversham asks the doctor if Gina isn't as wonderful as ever and Hope becomes excited that someone else knows her.
Hope sees the doctor out, but then asks him if there are any drugs that could help her memory. The doctor says no, but what memories she does have are true. Hope also asks the doctor to look at her birthmark and it is without a doubt a real birthmark, not one that could have been planted on her.
Hope tells Ms. Faversham that she's not a real princess, but Ms. Faversham doesn't understand why someone would brainwash her. Ms. Faversham says that she thinks she was brainwashed into being Hope and her birthmark proves she is a royal. Ms. Faversham leaves to get something and Hope calls Alice. Hope asks Alice about her birthmark, but Alice says she never had one of any kind.
Bo tells Swamp Girl that the only other person he knows that knows the entire play by heart is Hope. Swamp Girl says she's spent a lot of time down here reading. Bo hopes that Wayne and Earl won't find them and Swamp Girl swears to Bo that she will kill them if they try to hurt him. Bo tells Swamp Girl that she's nothing like Wayne and Earl described her as.
Swamp Girl tells Bo that they were probably just trying to protect her. Bo starts questioning Swamp Girl about friends and she says that she doesn't need friends to hurt and abandon her. Bo tells Swamp Girl that he wants to help her heal and go back into the world. Swamp Girl screams that she'll NEVER leave the bayou!
Swamp Girl says that maybe Wayne and Earl were right about him wanting to take her away. Bo says that he didn't mean to upset her and apologizes. Bo realizes that she's not only hiding from the world out of fear, but because of her face. Swamp Girl says that her life now is the only one she can have and says "give it up Brady." Bo is shocked and she apologizes for calling him that.
Swamp Girl says she's returning to the Bayou, but Bo stops her. Bo tells Swamp Girl that he has also made huge mistakes and he ran away, but now he realizes that it was the wrong thing to do. Bo says they need to move forward and then tries to think of a poem Hope use to quote.
Bo quotes one of Longfellow's poems and Swamp Girl says the quote along with him. Bo asks how she knows that poem and she says there is a collection of Longfellow in the library. Swamp Girl looks for it and Bo begins to wonder if Swamp Girl maybe the real Hope.
8/19 Bo is thinking about the person John rescued at Maison Blanche is the real Hope, or isn't she? This girl can't be, can she? Bo remembers Stefano saying he found Hope in the hospital, but she was too scarred to recognize. He then remembers Hope telling him about the other girl in the hospital and maybe swamp girl is that other girl, and her face is covered with mud to cover the scars.
Bo asks Swamp Girl how she knew his name was Brady? She tells him about when he first came to the Bayou with Hope she remembered Hope calling him both Bo and Brady. He asks her to wash her face and she shakes her head no and rushes off saying she doesn't want anyone to see her face. Bo's puzzled that Swamp Girl has the same favorite poets and authors as Hope.
Bo tells her, that unlike Juliet, she's a fighter and a survivor. She hid away in the bayou, but can't hide from her past forever. She has to face it and he'll be there to help her. She said she's not the way she used to look. He tells her she's beautiful and she starts to cry. He needs to know who she is and she tells him he already does. Bo explains he's scarred on the inside because he lost the one true love in his life. If she knows him, she knows friendship isn't based on how she looks.
Hope continues her discussion with Alice on the phone. Alice denies her having ANY birthmarks. Alice tells Hope that Kate hired Franco to break up her and Bo. Hope tells Alice that Bo never trusted Franco and does he know about this. Mrs. Faversham and rushes in with the key to Gina's past. It's a blue music box and it was very precious to Gina.
Hope hears the waltz in her head that she's always hearing and asks to open the music box, knowing that's what it'll play. She does explain she does collect music boxes back in Salem and the man in her life has given her some of the most magnificent music boxes. Mrs. Faversham. said she remembers Gina telling her the same thing and even remembers the name of the man, it's right at the tip of her tongue.
Hope asks if it's Bo Brady? No, Mrs. Faversham. Hope remembers someone showing her pictures of Bo and Hope, wondering if Stefano brainwashed her to be Hope. Did he do it to win a place with the Brady's by bringing her back. IF that's true and Mrs. Faversham is right, can she possibly be Princess Gina?
8/20 In Lugano, Hope is tormented with wondering whether she is Hope or Gina. She talks to Ms. Faversham about her life with Bo, and says that even though they've always had this special connection, she can't sense where he is or how he's doing right now. Ms. Faversham tells her that everything will look better in the morning, when they will plan their trip to Bulgaria. Hope thanks her and goes to bed.
In the bayou, Bo tells Swamp Girl she can trust him. She says she already does, but he will feel differently about her once he sees her face. Bo says that not everyone judges on appearances, least of all him. Swamp Girl finally agrees to let Bo see her face, and he gets a washcloth.
But before she can start washing off the mud, Bo hears something and goes to investigate. Just before he opens a door, Swamp Girl yells, "Bo, no!" The door opens and bats fly out, attacking Bo. Swamp Girl quickly closes the door and starts to help Bo get up.
8/24 Hope is preparing to leave for the art festival in Bulgaria. Lucille who tries once again to discourage her from going on the trip joins her. Lucille is really nasty with her, but Hope is determined. Hope wonders again about the birthmark and wonders just how Stefano would react if he found out what she was up to.
Mrs. Faversham asks her to please not leave again, but Hope is anxious to get home to Shawn-D. Mrs. Faversham urges her to have him come there, but Hope declines and says she needs to get back home right after their trip to Bulgaria. Mrs. Faversham understands all the confusion she must be going through, but she is and has been like a daughter to her and tells her that there is nothing she wouldn't do for her "Gina".
Hope calls John and they talk about Vivian taking off with Stefano on vacation and both wonders what he is up to now (he is also headed to Bulgaria!). She tells John about her trip with Mrs. Faversham aboard the Orient Express to Bulgaria. She is optimistic that she will learn something about her past, but is also a bit afraid of just WHAT she will learn "Gina" actually did for Stefano.
John tells her to not assume the worst. She tells him of her conversation with Alice's revelation that Hope did not have a birthmark, but John assures her that she is in fact HOPE WILLIAMS. She only wishes that she could speak with Bo, she misses him so much. He makes her promise to call and keep him up to date and offers his assistance. She assures him that she will call if she learns anything.
8/25 Swamp girl is applying the herbs to Bo's eyes but he still can't see. She wants to go get Erlene but Bo is worried that Wayne and Earl might capture her. She says she can get to her, but Bo does not want her to take the chance. She agrees not to go but says she wants to continue putting the herbs on Bo's eyes. He agrees.
He mentions that since he can’t see, that she can remove the mud off her face. She quickly changes the subject by asking if he is hungry. He says he is and says if she will get something Chef Bo will cook up something for them. She reminds him he can't see and he knows she is afraid of fire. She decides to go get beans and fruit.
They are eating and hear a rumble and worry that it might be Wayne and Earl. Bo wants to go check it out but she says no, she will do it. Bo says if it is someone and they capture him she can still help him get free but if they capture her he can't help her since he can't see. She understands what he is saying and lets him go check out the noise.
After a little while she gets worried and goes looking for him. She finds him just as they hear another rumble. Bo says they had a cave-in but he feels a breeze so when he can see again that they should be able to dig out of there. Bo again mentions removing the mud from her face saying he can't see so there is nothing to hide from him. She agrees to remove the mud and Bo thinks to himself that even though he can't see once he feels her face he will know if she is Hope or not.
8/27 In the bayou, Bo asks Swamp Girl if she has washed the mud off her face. She says yes, and he asks her if he can feel her face, since he can't see her while he is blinded. She is very reluctant and won't even come near him. She asks him how she can possibly trust him if he hurt the other two women in his life so much. Bo says she will just have to take his word for it.
While they are talking, the lantern goes out. Since Swamp Girl is afraid of fire, Bo offers to refill the lamp. She asks him how he can do that blind, and he says he's done it so often that all he needs is a little help. She tells him where the kerosene and the lamp are, and he fills it back up and lights it. As he turns away, he knocks the lamp over and the whole table catches fire. Swamp Girl screams in fear.
In Lugano, Hope and Ms. Faversham ride to the Empress Express railroad station. Hope remembers going to Paris with Bo, and Mrs. Faversham tells her she always looks sad when she thinks of Bo. Hope asks if Gina was melancholy, too, and Ms. Faversham says she was, but she always wanted to be cheered up. Hope says she doesn't like being sad, either, and that she knows Bo would be here helping her now if she hadn't driven him away.
They get to the train station and Ms. Faversham starts to feel faint. Hope looks for her medication in her purse, but can't find it. Just as Hope is trying to figure out what to do, Lucille shows up with the medication. She gives it to Ms. Faversham, who thanks her and doesn't suspect a thing.
However, Hope is suspicious, especially when Lucille reveals that she has bought a berth on the train for herself. She points out that since Hope is obviously not up to the job of caring for Ms. Faversham. They are about to leave when the trainmaster comes by and gasps as he recognizes Ms. Faversham and Princess Gina.
8/28 In Lugano, Hope is amazed that the trainmaster, Monsieur Lazare, recognizes her as Princess Gina. Ms. Faversham explains about her accident and amnesia, and Monsieur Lazare escorts them to their compartment, which happens to be right next to Stefano and Vivian's.
While Hope is admiring the opulence of what the steward calls "The Princess Gina Suite," Stefano and Vivian are settling into their compartment. Stefano reminds her that she has to call him Rudolfo for the trip. Suddenly, Vivian recognizes someone out the window.
Stefano is appalled to realize that Celeste and Ivan have followed them to Lugano and are going to take the train to Count Olenska's. He drags them into the compartment, getting them out of the hall just as Hope and Ms. Faversham are entering it.
Hope, meanwhile, tries to eavesdrop on the yelling in the next compartment (Stefano yelling at Ivan and Celeste), but can't quite hear. She and Ms. Faversham get dressed for dinner. Hope is dressed in a very sexy red dress and Ms. Faversham says she looks just like Princess Gina again. They go down to dine and Hope is immediately recognized as Princess Gina by several people in the car. As she is absorbing all this, Stefano and Vivian come to the dining car.
In the bayou, the Swamp Girl screams as the fire flares up, and Bo, still blinded, is helpless to do anything. Finally, the Swamp Girl throws a blanket over the fire, putting it out, and runs sobbing into Bo's arms. Bo thanks her for saving his life and congratulates her for conquering her fear of fire.
He tells her she is both brave and beautiful. She says she's not beautiful and runs away to do something. Bo tries to follow her, but she yells that he can't come in until she's ready. In what looks like an old dressing chamber, she scrapes the cobwebs off a mirror, grabs a pair of scissors, and starts cutting her wild long hair off, saying she has to be beautiful for Bo.
8/31 Hope and Ms. Faversham are in the royal dining car. Stefano and Vivian also enter, They don't see Hope when they pass by because a man steps out of their way and is in front of Hope.
Stefano and this man catch each other's eye and both step outside the car. We learn that this guy has worked with Stefano in the past. There is some object that Stefano wants to add to his collection, but this man warns him that it is too dangerous. They talk about how easy it was when Stefano had Gina as his cover. The man says that the risks are too high now and talks about how much easier it would be if they had Gina to help them.
Back at Hope's table, a man comes up and Ms. Faversham introduces him as Charles Cayhill, III. He talks about the good times they had and invites them to his estate to go hot air ballooning, and for parties, etc. Ms. Faversham accepts, of course. After he leaves, she talks about how "Gina" was an expert at Baccarat and tells of some of their adventures.
Hope and Ms. Faversham decide to go to the gaming car, so Hope can try her hand at Baccarat Hope is terribly excited about their trip and is sure she will get the answers that she so seeks.
9/1 Hope and Ms. Faversham decide to go to the gaming car. Hope plays a game of Baccarat very well, which puzzles Hope because she doesn't even know how to play! Ms. Faversham tells "Princess Gina" that it's so wonderful to have her back and Hope says it's wonderful to be back.
Stefano sees a crowd gathered at a table and learns from another man that a beautiful woman is playing an excellent game of baccarat. Stefano says Baccarat is his game and maybe he should try playing the lady. However, Stefano sees some one he wants to talk to.
Stefano talks with the man who he was talking with earlier about getting the Emerald Eye. The man tells Stefano about a painting for sale and says that he can arrange a meeting for him about purchasing it. Ivan, Celeste, and Lucille show up at the gaming car. Lucille tells Celeste about Ms. Faversham and how Princess Gina is ruining their relationship.
Vivian ends up gambling a ton of money away. Stefano realizes he has to get her under control and puts her in a normal mood. Vivian can't believe she's been so careless with her money. Ivan and Celeste become concerned for Vivian and take her back to her car. Stefano damns them for interfering in his plans.
9/3 John calls Hope, who is on the Empress Express, which is stopped in Milan. She tells him excitedly about her success at the baccarat tables. She says that either Stefano implanted her ability, or she really is Princess Gina. John reminds her that her identity as Hope was proved beyond a shadow of a doubt long ago.
Hope asks if anyone has heard from Bo? John says no, but Bo can take care of himself. He warns Hope that Roman heard the Empress Express was being targeted by the smuggling ring, so she should keep an eye out on Ms. Faversham.
On the Empress Express, after hanging up with John, Hope is joined by Ms. Faversham, who tells her that everyone on the train remembers her as Princess Gina. Hope says her heart still belongs to Bo, and Ms. Faversham asks her why she can't sense where he is. Hope asks if anyone who knew Princess Gina more than casually is on the train; Ms. Faversham says that she heard Rudolfo Marati is on the train. She describes him to Hope and promises to introduce them.
Celeste enters a car, where Lucille is sitting. They chat about how they are both concerned about their employers. Suddenly, Celeste spies Hope and tells Lucille that she knows that woman. Before Celeste can warn Hope that Stefano is on the train, Stefano strides into the car in the direction of Hope and Ms. Faversham.
In the bayou, the Swamp Girl brushes out her hair with an exquisite brush, which appears to belong to the collection that Hope had in her possession that Ms. Faversham had given to Princess Gina. Her hair is now short and straight, a lot like Hope's.
Bo has a dream about being with Hope, and wakes up to go looking for the Swamp Girl. She is startled when he comes in the room before she is ready, but he reminds her he can't see her anyway. She offers to shave him, which brings back more memories of Hope.
When she's done, she asks Bo to dress in a formal suit, and he finds the champagne, crackers, and pate in the other room for a celebration. Swamp Girl emerges finally in a pretty dress and Bo tells her he's sure she must look beautiful. They begin to dance.
9/4 In the bayou, Bo and Swamp Girl are dancing. Bo tells her how well she dances, and she says it must be all those years of ballet and modern dancing she took. Bo is startled, because he remembers that Hope spent years studying the same areas of dance. In a separate scene, Hope mentions the years she took Ballet.
Swamp Girl knew some secrets about Hope's past. She was the person who had taken Hope's place in the cage at Ernesto's. She was scarred, while Hope was taken to safety by Stefano.
Bo returned with Swamp Girl (AKA. Princess Greta) to Salem, who was afraid of civilization because of her scars. Hope has been transformed into Princess Gina, but no one knows this, although Greta has a sense that her mother is around when Hope's around. Bo is treading on dangerous territory.
Dvd #35C On the Empress Express, Celeste distracts Stefano from walking to Hope's part of the train. She tells him to go check on Vivian. Ivan protests strenuously, but Celeste says she is going to get off the train to do some shopping and makes Ivan come with her. When they are off the train, Celeste tells Ivan that Hope is aboard and they need to find her and warn her about Stefano.
Hope, meanwhile, has left the train to get Ms. Faversham's medicine, and Ivan and Celeste can't find her. Stefano plots to have them delayed so that they can't get back on the train and he can have Vivian to himself.
Hope returns just before the train leaves and is stopped by a man she remembers from her days as Gina. Without thinking, she identifies him, and when he leaves, she is stunned to realize that she actually remembered someone from her past as Gina. More and more, she is starting to believe she actually is Gina.
Meanwhile, as Ivan and Celeste are about to re-board, someone attempts to snatch Celeste's shopping bags. The train officials escort everyone away to straighten out the problem, while Stefano watches gloatingly as the train prepares to leave without them.
Bo has memories of Hope wearing a dress that looks like the one Swamp Girl describes she is wearing. While Bo and Swamp Girl are dancing, Bo's eyes start to sting again. Swamp Girl offers to go to the bayou to get help, but Bo begs her to stay there with him. She says she will try the herbal remedy one more time, but then she is going to get help. When she returns, Bo notices he is starting to see shadows again, although he can't quite make out her face. He tells her he can almost see again.
9/7 Ms. Faversham runs into Stefano and tells him he'd like to introduce him to someone. Ms. Faversham and Stefano run into a man from the art festival and she tells him she has a wonderful surprise for everyone there. Stefano learns that Vivian has collapsed and tells Ms. Faversham that he'll have to catch up with her later.
Hope is recalling that she recognized a man from her past and thinks that she must have recognized him from a photo of Ms. Faversham's. Ms. Faversham shows up and sees Hope looking at a book about hot-air balloons. She asks her if she remembers winning a hot-air balloon race, but Hope only remembers being scared to death in a hot-air balloon with Bo.
Ms. Faversham tells Hope she ran into Rudolpho, a.k.a Stefano DiMera, and tells her about him. Hope doesn't remember him and she tells Ms. Faversham that she does know that she is Hope, but was programmed to be Princess Gina. Hope says she has so many questions and wants to know what brought her to her. Ms. Faversham says she doesn't know, but she knows how she left.
Hope asks how and Ms. Faversham says she vanished the night they were going to see "The Marriage of Figaro." Ms. Faversham says she just vanished into thin air and Hope says that it sounds like Stefano's work. Hope says she believes once her purpose was fulfilled, Stefano took her back to Maison Blanche. Ms. Faversham tells Hope that she'll help her find the answers she wants and then they'll make Stefano pay.
9/8 Bo's vision starts returning and he sees Swamp Girl and hugs her. Swamp Girl turns away from Bo, but he says he wants to look at her and she shouldn't be afraid. Swamp Girl runs off and Bo chases her.
Bo says that at least he knows the answer to the question haunting him.
Bo looks at Swamp Girl, who he knows isn't Hope, and tells her that she is very beautiful. Swamp Girl asks why it was so important that he see her face and Bo says he wanted to know who she was because she's his friend.
Bo tells her that she doesn't have to be afraid anymore, but Swamp Girl says that isn't true. Bo asks her if she'll tell him her name and she says it is Greta. Greta recalls Stefano warning her not to tell anyone who she is and what she knows, so she refuses to tell Bo anything else. Bo asks whom she is afraid of and she says a man that's all she'll say.
Bo asks who the man is, but Greta tells him she can't say and runs off. Bo chases after Greta and end up in the dungeon of Maison Blanche. Bo finds John's initials and realizes where he is. Bo asks Greta how she found this place.
Hope explains to Ms. Faversham about her accident with the acid vat and how Stefano took advantage of her while recovering in the hospital. She also tells Ms. Faversham about her surgeries and how she doesn't know who completed them. Ms. Faversham says she thinks she knows how she can find out about her surgeries.
Ms. Faversham tells her that there is plastic surgeon onboard, Dr. Philippe Renot, and he can look at Hope. Ms. Faversham also admits that he's done some work on her. Ms. Faversham introduces the doctor to Princess Gina and she leaves them to talk. Hope shows the doctor the picture of her scarred face and the doctor tells Hope that no plastic surgeon could restore her face to perfection, she was never burned and the picture she has isn't of herself.
Stefano puts Vivian into an up mood. Vivian asks where Ivan and Celeste are and Stefano says they got off in Milan. Stefano tells Vivian that he doesn't trust them and then tells Vivian that he found Celeste stealing a necklace Jonsey gave her. Vivian doesn't understand and Stefano tells her that Celeste and Ivan were going to sell it in Milan, but he got it back.
"Rudolpho" goes to talk to Ms. Faversham and she tells him that she can't wait till he meets whom she's traveling with, she's an old friend of his. Rudolpho is intrigued and asks whom she is with. Ms. Faversham tells Rudolpho she wanted to surprise him, but oh well. She tells him that she's traveling with Princess Gina, which throws him for a loop.
9/9 Stefano can't believe Lilly's Princess Gina is the same one. Lilly tells her about Gina showing up at her house in Lugano. Lilly is surprised how Gina has not changed in the slightest. It's just like old times she says. Stefano asks how much of the "old times" does Gina remember? She tells him not much at all. Her servant Lucille doesn't believe it's her.
Stefano patronizes her and tells her there are many people who want to take advantage of nice and wealthy people like her. Lilly says she KNOWS this is her darling Gina. If he met her, he'd know. When he asks where she is, she tells him the parlor car and off they go to it.
Hope can't believe Dr. Renault when he tells her she NEVER had plastic surgery. He is a little insulted and insists he's one of the best in the country and tells her she was never burned. Hope tells him that the plastic surgeon in New Orleans gave her the photograph. He tells her it's impossible for any plastic surgeon to achieve that kind of miraculous transformation on her face, it's impossible. The woman in the photo is NOT HER!
He tells her if she was the woman in the picture, she would have required skin grafts and her face would be rough in places from the scars. The only ones he found on her were behind her ears and her hair line. She asks if they could have been put there deliberately and he says yes, but why would someone try to make her think she's had plastic surgery? Hope remembers Stefano telling her it took 4 years with all the surgeries at Salem Place.
Lucille asks if she's okay and Hope excuses herself to get some fresh air. Lilly and Stefano enter looking for her and she sees Lucille and goes to ask her where Gina is. Lucille tells her outside for air. Hope stands on the back of the car and remembers the explosion years ago.
Greta tells Bo she watched Maison Blanche burn down from the bayou. He asks if she knows the man who owns this place. She doesn't answer, but he does and tells her he does, he's Stefano DiMera, an evil man. She asks how he knows this Stefano DiMera.
Bo tells her that Stefano has a vendetta against his family. He took his brother Roman away from his wife and kids for years, took John Black and sent him to Salem in Roman's place. After a while everyone believed he WAS Roman, then Roman came back. Stefano will pay for all he's done to Hope and she asks if she's the woman he loves and he tells her yes.
He tells her about the explosion that happened right in front of him and how he had to tell his son his mother was dead. They were both devastated. It took years before he believed she was dead and then learned she wasn't. Bo said DiMera claimed he found a Jane Doe and didn't know it was Hope.
After all those surgeries he HAD to know it was Hope, instead he made them believe she was dead. He tried to escape with Hope the night Maison Blanche burned down, but John Black saved her. That's why he and Hope had come back down to find out the answers to those questions.
Greta asks if he did and he tells her no, that's why he came back. He thinks he found the person who can help him, her. He goes to find a picture of Stefano in the library. He knows what a vain man Stefano is, so there must be one there. Greta remembers Stefano's warning in the hospital again and tells herself, if he knows I'm alive.
Bo returns with a picture of Stefano and shows it to Greta. He can tell she remembers him. He asks if she was in the hospital with Hope? She tries to leave and he grabs her, promising to protect her from him. Please, will she help him? His and Hope’s future depend on it, Stefano kept him and his family apart for four years.
He destroys everything he touches and she tells him she knows that. He asks if the man she's afraid of is Stefano. He keeps asking her what he did to her and she's afraid to answer. The only way to get over your fear is to confront it, just like the fire. She tells him that Stefano destroyed her life too.
9/11 Lucille meets Hope outside the train car and manages to push her over the side. Hope is hanging off the side of the train pleading with Lucille to help her. She says she can't hang on. Lucille thinks to herself "Go ahead and fall Hope, fall and die!"
As she hangs on for dear life, Lucille says that her foot is stuck in the railing and she can't reach her. A hand reaches down the side and grabs Hope's and pulls her up, it is STEFANO! Hope is in shock to say the least. Stefano also helps Lucille and she thanks "Mr. Meradi”.
Then she turns to Hope and says "Princess Gina, are you all right?" Hope and Stefano look at each other and Hope says what did you call him? Immediately following, Stefano asks what did you call her? Stefano looks at Hope as if he has just seen a ghost.
Greta reveals to Bo that she was an actress hired by Ernesto for a magic trick. She was to take Hope's place and then escape but couldn't get out of the cage and was terribly burned in the explosion. She goes on to reveal that Stefano was the fist person she saw in the hospital and she endured unbearable pain because of the mistake. Greta admits that she has no idea why Stefano was interested in Hope.
9/15 Greta talks more about the explosion and says that it was all a magic trick gone wrong. She was supposed to fall through a trap door in the cage, but it didn't work. She assures him that Hope was already safe before the explosion. Bo is still trying to convince Greta to return to Salem with him. She refuses.
She agrees that Hope does indeed need to know the truth, but he can do that, for her life is in the bayou. She thanks him for all his help and says what a difference he has made in her life. She tells him good bye and takes off, but Bo catches up with her. He promises to protect her, and he refuses to leave her alone behind. He wants her to reclaim her life.
He asks her if it is because of the scars? He says that she has a life to live and that he will help get her the best doctors on earth to help her, but she refuses and says no more doctors. He says she has been living in fear for way too long and he will help her if she will only trust him. She wants to, but says she just can't.
She takes off again and Bo follows. He says he must figure out a way to make her go with him. He gets this terrible feeling that he is running out of time and that Hope is in danger and needs him now more than ever.
Back inside, Lucille explains that he is Rudolpho Meradi an old friend of Ms. Faversham's. Hope introduces herself as Princess Gina and holds out her hand for him to kiss the back of it. As he goes to kiss it, she yanks it away. Stefano wants to know what happened back there and Lucille says it was all an accident and apologizes. She leaves to see the doctor about her ankle.
Hope thanks "Mr. Meradi" for saving her. They verbally go at it both hurling questions at each other. Hope lays out some of her theory and you can see from his face just how close to the truth she is. Stefano tells her that he is flattered that she thinks he is capable of such feats. She says she thinks he is capable of anything, his mistake was that he should never underestimate a Brady.
He becomes angry and says he has told her over and over to leave the past where it is and to keep her nose out of it. She asks if he is threatening her and wants to know what HE is afraid of. He chuckles and admits that she is the one who should be afraid. She says she IS, but is also very stubborn and intends to find out everything. She says that she could just ask him all her questions, but why bother, he is just a liar.
Stefano becomes furious with her and calls her "A FOOL"! She says that things are coming back to her, like her artistic talent, and that she knows how to play Baccarat, from her life as Gina. These are things that Hope couldn't do. She says that she intends to BECOME Gina to get to the truth about what he did and why. She leaves and outside the car, she is visibly shaken.
Alone, Stefano says he can handle it. "So Hope wants to become Gina again? Well, that can certainly be arranged!" as he smiles and takes another swig of his drink.
9/16 Hope and Ms. Faversham meet back up and Hope tells her that her dear friend, Mr. Meradi, is really Stefano DiMera. Lily starts to worry that Stefano is such an evil man, perhaps they should go back to Lugano. Hope refuses, knowing that the art auction is the only place that she can meet people who knew her as Gina. Hope gets a telegram from John warning her that Stefano is on the Empress Express posing as Rudolpho.
Meanwhile, Stefano calls Dr. Rolf back in Salem to tell him that Hope is on the train. Stefano tells the Dr. that Hope has no memory as Gina.
At the train station in Venice, Stefano flashes back to when he was there with Gina. He wonders if Gina could be as useful now as she was back then.
Back on the train, he spies Hope and Lily seated at a table and walks over. He greets Princess Gina and Lily and Lily pretends that she does not know he is not Rudolpho.
Bayou Bo is still trying to convince Greta to come to Salem with him. Greta has a major pity party saying everyone will run from her because of her scars. Bo tells her that she is beautiful and can have a better life if she comes to Salem. But Stefano lives in Salem, Greta says. Yes, but he only cares about his image, Bo counters.
He'll tell her the story on the way to Salem. They can rent a big car, and on the way, stop off in a motel with hot showers, a big, soft bed, TV, and all the modern conveniences. Just go to Salem and tell Hope everything. If she does not like Salem, he will bring her back to the Bayou or anywhere she wants. Greta reluctantly agrees to go.
Billie is in the bayou looking for Bo and walks around until her flashlight runs out of batteries. She takes a couple more steps and falls down through a hole. Bo and Greta hear a scream and go to investigate. Billie looks up and sees Bo and runs into his arms. Looking ahead, Billie sees Greta and the scars on her face and starts to recoil.
9/17 Wayne and Earl are searching the cave that Billy went into and realized that it was the same one that Bo and Greta went into. They wonder if Billy lead them there as a trap. They vow to find Swamp Girl because she is their good luck charm. They are just about to give up their search when they hear a noise and go off to investigate.
Bille is explaining to Bo why she tracked him down. She tells Bo that two locals, Wayne and Earl, were helping her. Bo tells Billie that they are trying to kill him. Billie tells Bo that she was separated from the guys when the floor gave way and she fell. Bo explains that they are in a series of catacombs.
Greta runs off when Billie tries to talk to her. Bo tells Billie his plan to bring Greta to Salem to tell Hope what she knows. Billie tells Bo that Hope is in Europe then blurts out, "My mom hired Franco to break up you and Hope." Bo says Kate will answer to him, but his main concern is finding Greta.
As Greta listens on, Billie begins updating Bo on what's been happening in Salem. The conversation turns back to Hope. Billie goes off on Bo, thinking he came down here to heal, not to help Hope. Without ever mentioning their lost baby, Bo says it was all his fault, that he never blamed Hope for what happened. Billie again tries to reconcile with Bo, telling him they belong together. Bo tells her point-blank that they can never recapture what they once had, that it is over.
Billie then asks if he has learned anything else in the Bayou. Bo says Greta told him the truth about Hope. Greta runs off and Billie asks about her face. Bo tells her that she was scarred and hid her face with mud. Bo goes to fix the hole that Billie fell through while she goes to look for Greta and speak with her woman to woman. Billie finds Greta, who runs and hides. Billie says she just wants to be her friend.
Rudolpho is speaking with Gina and Lily. Lily does not let on that she knows he is Stefano. They banter on about how Rudolpho saved Gina's life. In return, Rudolpho mentions, if he ever needs a favor but he sees someone that he wants to speak with and leaves the sentence hanging.
Gina and Lily see Stefano talking to the Duke and Duchess of Harriman. Rudolpho tries to buy Renet's Spring Morning. The duke tells him the painting is not for sale at any price and walks off. Stefano looks at Gina and says to himself, "There are always other ways."
Lily tells Gina the Duke has an extensive art collection, as does Rudolpho. Gina perks up, and Lily wonders where that collection is. As they are talking, a friend of Gina's invites her to play baccarat. At the gaming car, she orders a kir royale. Lily comments that Gina always used to order that drink and Hope says that she remembers. Princess Gina is winning and orders champagne for everyone. As Stefano looks on, he recalls a similar occasion where he and Gina are at the tables and she orders champagne for everyone.
9/18 Billie is talking to Greta that she and Bo want to help her. Greta tells her to leave with Bo, but Billy says Bo won't leave the Bayou without Greta. Greta says she knows the way out, and starts to leave the room. Billy stops her and says that she knows what Greta is going through. She has emotional scars, her life in the last few months has been hard and that she has lost alot.
Billie then sees Greta's scars and says that she can help. She owns a cosmetic company and can cover her scars with makeup. Greta asks incredulously if Billie has makeup with her, and she confesses that she always carries something. She opens her backpack and takes out a cosmetic bag and starts looking through it when Greta sees the compact.
Bo is covering up the hole in the cave, when he hears Wayne and Earl above him. Bo slips and is hanging from the ledge, then falls and hurts his hand. Earl thinks he heard something, but Wayne says its the thunder from the storm. They leave, walking right past the covered hole.
Bo searches the catacombs and finds debris covering an exit. He starts to remove the junk, but his hand hurts, so he rips his shirt sleeve and wraps his hand with it. He makes is out and creeps up to the cave entrance where Wayne and Earl are wondering where they are. Wayne leaves his gun at the entrance and the two walk off.
Gina is toasting Charles for his gracious losing of many thousands of francs. Stefano is pleased that Hope has captured the essence of Gina without the memories. Charles leaves the baccarat table and Stefano takes his place and the two play a high-stakes game. Gina is noticably nervous and loses to Stefano. Stefano raises the bank to 200,000 francs, and Gina accepts. She wins the hand and she raises her champagne glass to Stefano, toasting "to meeting up with old friends and what rediscovering what [they] once shared...together".
Lily and Gina leave the table and Lily wants them to go back to Lugano. Gina is adamant that she need to get to the art festival, certain that more answers await her. Stefano looks at the two and remembers a time when he and Gina (sporting red streaks in her hair and bangs) were plotting something. Stefano had a map of Count Olenska's place and gives it to Gina. "I won't ever get caught, I'm the best, remember," Gina says confidently.
The two kiss on the cheek and he walks off. Coming back to reality, Stefano laments that he wanted to finish what the two of them started, but it's never too late. Gina gets a call from John, and she tells him that she got his message but that she and Rudolpho had already met. She then tells him that Stefano is terrified that she is on the train as Princess Gina and that so many people know her as that.
Then she tells John what she has learned: Lily knew Stefano as Rudolpho, she never had plastic surgery and was never burned and Gina and Rudolpho worked together for those four years but she doesn't know what they were doing. John updates Hope on Shawn D. and that Bo is still missing.
Meanwhile, Stefano is talking to Dr. Rolf, ecstatic that she is Gina without the memories. Stefano plans to capitalize on Hope's desire to be Gina.
After his conversation with Hope, John is looking at the picture of him in Lugano when he was a priest when he gets a pain his head.
Stefano hangs up with Dr. Rolf and Princess Gina announces that with her vast Baccarat winnings, she is hosting a party for all the train guests. The only price of admission is that each guest must tell her everything they know about her.
9/22 Wayne and Earl are asleep outside of the cave and Bo is watching them. He needs to find a way to take care of them and get back to Billie and Greta and get them out of the bayou. Greta is also asleep as Billie watches over her. Billie wonders just how much Greta knows and if she knows the truth about Georgia. Bo sneaks up on Wayne and Earl and grabs their rifle, but Wayne wakes up and grabs him. They want to know where their "Swamp Girl" is but Bo lies and says that she ran away days ago. They don't believe him and start to beat him up. Bo gets away from them.
Meanwhile, back down in the cave, Greta wakes up and she and Billie wonder where Bo is. Greta just hopes that Wayne and Earl haven't captured him. Billie tries to persuade her to trust her and Greta reluctantly agrees, saying that if Billie is a friend of Bo's then she must be okay.
Billie wants to try her makeup on her, but Greta is doubtful it will do any good. Billie convinces her to change her clothes. Later, Billie is finished with her face and she hands Greta the compact. As Greta looks at her reflection, she is shocked Billie says she will teach her how to apply the makeup herself and she will never have to hide her face again. After getting over the shock of seeing herself, Greta begins to examine the compact and has flashbacks of the baby's burial. She turns to Billie and says "I know who you are, Billie!"
9/23 Wayne & Earl are looking for Bo. Bo creates distraction and runs the other direction. Billie covers Greta's face with makeup and the scars are gone. Looking at compact, Greta says "I know you." to Billie and realizes that Billie was the woman who lost her baby. Billie is worried now, as Greta recalls the burial of Georgia. Billie asks if Bo knows. Billie offers the compact to Greta in exchange for Greta's silence.
Billie is desperate to have Greta keep her secret. Greta feels uncomfortable keeping the secret because Bo has been so honest. Bo walks in as they are talking about it. Bo sees Greta's face and is ecstatic at the transformation, she’s beautiful and should not be hiding out. Bo says they should leave the Bayou now. Greta agrees and the three take off. Wayne and Earl figure out Bo tricked them. As the trio make their way, Billy is spotted by Wayne and Earl and, guns pointed, question her about Bo and Swamp Girl.
Hope is deciding what to wear to her party. Lily is concerned that she will only upset Stefano. Hope is determined to find out what she did as Gina. In a elegant gown, Gina and Lily continue talking a Lily confesses that she doesn't want Gina to find out her past because then she will leave her again and forget all about her. Gina reassures her that she won't ever forget her very dear friend. Lucille comes in to tell Gina that all the arrangements have been made.
As Viv is changing, Stefano meets the monacled man and learns that Gina is in the parlor car so her room is empty. Stefano plots to search her room and ensure that the train does not reach the festival. Stefano searches Hope's room and finds the copy of Renet's Garden At Twilight. Stefano is concerned now, as drawing was Gina's talent, not Hope's. He wonders if Hope is becoming Gina on her own. Stefano returns to find Vivian gone and is concerned as to havoc she could wreak.
