Bo & Hope #40 August 12 - September 30, 1999: 8 hour original edit

DVD #40A 8/12 Bo is confused when he notices the time and realizes that he has somehow lost four hours. He has a monster headache, which "Hope" massages. Wondering about the time loss, "Hope" attributes that to him sleeping after his drink. He is suspicious, but figures it may be possible.

Bo thinks that his headache is like the ones John used to get. "Hope" figures that John will resume his search for the past if they find some answers but Bo says there is nothing left to find. He then argues with "Hope" that she can't live Princess Gina's life. Hope Williams is in there, and Bo will get her back.

Stefano wants to play with people's minds and control them like puppets. Bo decides to switch tactics and scare "Hope" because the real Gina lost her mind, and the same could happen to her. Bo says that his love for Hope will make him fight for her, and that this "Gina" is just a creation. Bo says that she has to break away from Stefano, or he will destroy her.

Original Gina fears that Steffie has killed John. She recalls that Stefano suggested that she return to Paris instead of Maison Blanche. Kurt defends Stefano, saying he protected her. Gina figures that Kurt has been lying to her. She tries to bribe Kurt, but he refuses. Kurt leaves a distraught Gina begging to be let go. Alone, Gina prays that John is still coming for her, that Kurt lied to her. Vowing not to let Stefano win, Gina then uses a putty knife to dig into a wall of her room.

8/13 Original Gina informs Kurt that he works for her and demands he open the door and let her out! Kurt refuses, so Gina pushes her way past him to do it herself, but the door is locked. She pleads with Kurt to let her out because John is coming for her. She tells Kurt that there is nothing he or anyone else can do to keep them apart!

Suddenly, Gina realizes that Kurt has been keeping her a prisoner. She tells him that he cannot keep her and John apart, their love is far too strong! Gina begins screaming for John, but Kurt tells her the room is soundproof. Gina asks why she is a prisoner, and Kurt tells her for her own safety. Then he delivers the bad news that John isn't coming for her.

Stefano, Rolf, Bo, and Gina/Hope return to the Paris house, and Stefano orders Bo to make him a drink. Bo brings the his drink, but Stefano informs him that he poured the layers in the wrong order, and to do it again. Stefano tells Gina that making this drink is a test of his steadiness and concentration. To prove it, he leans her over and kisses her! Bo just glances over at them, but does nothing. Stefano tells Gina that the old Bo would have strangled him!

Gina sidles over and asks Rolf when the potion will wear off. He says that it won't as long as she gives him the doses on time, never. He warns her that if she betrays Stefano again, her fate will be worse that the Real Princess Gina's! Stefano thinks she and Bo will make a great team. Gina says she and John were a great team, but Stefano reminders her that it is her fault she is gone. Gina asks Stefano what happened to the real Gina, did she go crazy when she lost John?

Stefano just warns that if she is not careful, history will repeat itself! When Gina asks Stefano if he is threatening her, Bo shouts "That's enough!" He then tells Gina not to talk to her creator in that manner! Stefano says he and Rolf have to leave, so they say goodbye to them. Stefano uses the command, "At Ease", and Bo snaps out of it. He tells Hope that he has one hell of a headache. Outside, Stefano says that if everything goes as planned, he will never change Bo and Gina back!

8/16 "Hope" is looking at John's wedding ring and remembering her role in the hay with him. Gina looks at the potion and remembers that she has to give Bo another dose of the potion tonight.

Outside, Bo talks to Greta and Eric on his cell phone. Eric says they haven't found anything yet, but thinks they are on the right track. Eric also asks Bo to check out Kurt Shwengle, Eric thinks he knows more than he's letting on about Gina. As Bo is talking to Eric, he is hit with a dizzy spell. Eric asks if he is okay? Bo says he just has a little hangover, though he didn’t drink much last night.

Bo tells Eric that he has a special day planned for Gina tonight, hopefully he will convince her that DiMera is up to no good. Bo goes inside and tells Gina that he has a special day planned for them, and then takes off to make some plans. Gina continues to yearn for John, and says it is definitely time.

Gina calls John and tells him that she needs to talk to him, it is urgent. John asks what is so urgent? Gina says she heard about what happened on his honeymoon and was worried. When Gina asks him questions about what happened, John tells her he doesn't remember anything. John tells him that the past is dead and he doesn't want anything to do with Princess Gina or whoever the hell she thinks she is. John tells Gina to tell Stefano that he's lost, and then hangs up on her!

Gina talks to herself and says she has to get the demagnetizer back from Stefano. With it, Gina says she could turn John back into the man who ravaged her on the sub. Outside, some men arrive and set up Bo's surprise for Gina. Bo is then hit with another headache. Bo goes back inside and asks Gina what her brain is cooking up now?

Up in her room, the real Princess Gina has a nightmare that she is being chased and people keep calling her a lunatic. When she tries to break free, Kurt refuses to let her go. Gina wakes up and says she is a prisoner and Kurt is her keeper. When she hears Kurt at the door, Gina covers the hole in the wall and pretends to be asleep. Kurt runs to her and asks why she is on the floor? Gina says she had some spasms and must have fallen asleep. However, she says since she is a prisoner, she might as well live like one.

Kurt leaves to make her some breakfast, and Gina goes back to prying out the bricks in the castle wall. Later, Kurt returns with breakfast and tea, but Gina says she is too distraught to eat. Gina tells him that now that John won't be coming, she has no hope left. Gina asks what will become of her? Kurt tells her many good things will come of her, she'll see. He tells her to eat, and then leaves.

Gina quickly returns to her wall and continues digging. Kurt returns later with more food for her. Gina says she will eat it, if he brings Stefano here! Kurt says he can't do that, and quickly leaves. Gina looks out the window and wonders who those people who came were, and why is Kurt lying to her?

8/17 Gina/Hope tells Bo that she has already seen Paris. She tells him that if he would like to see Paris, he can go right ahead. Bo tells Gina that he recognizes the look on her face, it is hurt. Bo asks if she called John, but already knows the answer. Bo tells her that John is married and doesn't want to remember a woman he doesn't love.

Bo says John didn't love Princess Gina and he never will. He says that John was a machine made by DiMera, does she think that he really wants to remember killing hundreds of men? Gina remembers John killing people on their missions. Bo says that even if John and Gina escaped from DiMera, John could have turned on her. Gina says that John would never have hurt Gina, but Bo says DiMera can brainwash anyone into doing anything.

Gina/Hope remembers Bo-Mime crossing the street, and tells Bo "even you!" Bo says he is not under Stefano's control, but Gina says he was still manipulated by Stefano when he took her away from him. Bo says if she has Gina's memories than she knows the pain of Stefano taking a loved one away. Bo tells Gina that she is still the woman he loves and he won't lose her again, and that is how John feels about Marlena.

Gina says she is happy for John and Marlena, but she feels nothing but contempt for him! Bo tells Gina that somewhere deep inside her is Hope Williams Brady, the woman he loves and the woman who loves him and Shawn D. Bo says a love like that doesn't go away, all she has to do is look deep enough. Gina says he is not the man she loves. Bo tells her to forget about John, he has forgotten about her. He urges her not to slip too far into this Princess Gina thing, otherwise she will share the fate of the real Gina.

The real Gina wonders what Stefano has done to John. Gina realizes that all she has is Greta and she has to find her. She looks out the window and begins shouting for help. Kurt returns and Gina asks why is he holding her captive, why won't he take her to Paris, why won't he let her see her guests, what is he doing to her? Kurt says "Your highness…”. Gina interrupts and says he is to remember that she is a princess. Gina demands Kurt tell her the truth, who are those people and what do they want from her?

Kurt says that the people in the garden want to buy the castle, but he told them it was not for sale. Gina wants to be taken to Paris to see John and Greta, and then she throws a fit and starts trashing the place. John comes out of his painting and Gina thanks god he is here. Kurt watches her as she talks to an imaginary John.

As he fades away, Gina cries and Kurt holds her to keep her from collapsing. Kurt tells her to rest, and then leaves. Gina screams "Damn you Stefano!" She says once she is free, Stefano will regret taking John and her daughter from her! As she screams she is going to kill Stefano, Gina collapses.

8/18 Bo tells Gina/Hope that the real Gina went into a deep depression after losing John and probably killed herself! Gina asks why he is telling her this? Bo says that he doesn't want the same thing to happen to her. Gina says she will not end like Princess Gina, but Bo says DiMera is sending her down the same path he sent the real Gina down. He says that the only thing that will save her is if he gets away from DiMera.

Bo asks her to put herself in touch with someone who loves the real you, Hope. Gina tells him that he has this insane idea the she is a robot. Bo tells her that she is so programmed that she can't even hear the truth, she only know what Stefano has told her. Bo says he'd be angry with her if it wasn't so sad.

He goes on and says even if her beloved John was here it wouldn't be anymore real than when she played dress-up as a little girl. Bo says that Gina wasn't real during those four years, and neither was John! Gina squirms as Bo tells her that John has his life back, and DiMera is the one she must get away from before she goes insane or dies!

Gina tells him to leave her alone, but Bo says he will do that when Hope asks him to. However, Bo doesn't think Hope will say that because she loves him. Bo begs her to help him bring Hope back. Bo informs her that DiMera is losing his grip on her. Gina says she is not his prisoner!

Bo says that she thinks she wants to be Gina, but deep down inside her soul she is a loving person who has a life back in Salem with people who love her and want her to come home. Bo asks her to trust him to bring her back. Gina gets a call on her cellphone and asks "Steffie" what he wants under her breath.

Kurt finds the real Gina unconscious on the floor. He shakes her and asks her to speak to him. Gina comes to and tells Kurt to get away from her, she does not want his help. Kurt tells her that he can't let her out. Gina wants to know how long she has been kept here, and he says for awhile. Gina asks if Stefano is doing this to her? Kurt tries to answer, but Gina tells him not to even bother denying it. Gina thinks he hates her, but Kurt says he cares deeply for her.

Gina says if that is true than he will let her go. Kurt apologizes but says he can't. Gina says she knows Stefano has John prisoner, and he might also have her daughter because she hasn't heard from her in so long. She says each day her heart will break a little more unit she no longer has the will to live.

She begs Kurt to let her out. Kurt tells her that she has to stay here because it is the only place she will be safe. Kurt tells her that she belongs here with him, her friend, forever. Gina says that he is her only friend. Kurt leaves and Gina continues to dig at the wall.

8/19 Princess Gina continues to try to dig her way out of the locked room. She's cursing Stefano the whole time. Success! A large chunk of the wall gives way, and Gina sees John on the other side of the wall, begging her to hurry up. Gina begins to scrape away more wall, then the vision of John vanishes. Gina figures that her time as a thief and spy will help her to get away.

Deciding Kurt is not going to help with his request to exhume Princess Gina, Eric puts a call into Bo. But, when Bo answers, he is under the influence of Stefano's potion and tells Eric in a robotic voice that this was not part of his mission and that he's too busy. Eric is perplexed at Bo's attitude.

Gina/Hopd is on the phone with Stefano, while Bo listens in, she pretends its the maitre d' at the restaurant. Stefano orders Gina to give Bo the potion or she will be sorry. And, she'd better do it now, because he and Rolf are coming over. Gina spikes Bo's beer, and he quickly passes out. Ding-dong. Stefano and Rolf arrive and they begin training Bo for his mission. Tonight, Gina will have her new partner.

While Bo and Rolf are occupied, Gina presses Stefano again for the details of the real Gina's demise. Stefano warns her again never to mention it. Gina recalls the bits of conversation that she and Bo had regarding Stefano's ability to create new people when the old ones fail him, and that Stefano can brainwash anyone. "Done." says Rolf. Stefano commands Bo to stand at attention, which he does. Steffie is pleased with his new pawn, but Gina is worried about what is happening to Bo.

8/24 Bo is undergoing more computer brainwashing. Stefano tells Gina/Hope that it is time to prepare her and Bo to acquire the last Rennet for him. But, Stefano says he must make sure Bo is ready. Gina can't believe how much Stefano enjoys this. He tells her that he relishes every bit of controlling a man who hates him. Rolf tells Bo to get on his feet, but he doesn't obey. Stefano tells Bo to do as Rolf says, and Bo snaps to.

Gina asks what is going to happen? Stefano says they are going on a field trip. Gina asks if it will be dangerous? Stefano says of course, and then asks if he detects a bit of concern in her voice? She says no, and he says good. Stefano tells her to come with him, and they leave. They end up on a street corner, and Gina asks what they are doing here?

Stefano says they are waiting for lightening to strike. A man mugs some woman, and Stefano tells Bo to sic! Bo goes after the man and beats him to a pulp. The cops show up and Gina tells Stefano to do something! The cops ask Bo what he has done, what is his name? Bo just stands there like a mindless zombie, and is eventually arrested!

8/25 Stefano and Rolf are drinking to their success. Gina/Hope asks how he can call this a success, Bo has been arrested! Stefano tells her not to worry, Bo will do the honorable thing. Stefano assures her that he is confident that Bo will be just as good of a mercenary as John.

Gina asks what if Bo tells the police everything! Stefano tells her not to worry, relax, have a drink. Gina says no, she wants to go for some air. Stefano suggests that since she is so worried she should go to the station and get him. Gina takes the passport and leaves. Rolf asks Stefano if he is sure Gina will remain loyal? Stefano says she knows Bo is out to destroy her and he is the only person she can trust. Outside, Gina wonders what is happening to her.

The French police are interrogating no-brain Bo. They are in a dark room and even have a spotlight on him! They ask him if he speaks such-in-such language until they finally realize he speaks English. Bo says he is from the United States. When they ask why he hurt this man in the street, Bo says the man stole a woman's purse and he did the honorable thing. The cops ask if he has been drinking? They ask him to take a breathalyzer test, and he passes.

Gina shows up at the station and just walks into the room where Bo is being interrogated! Gina tells them that this is her husband, and she hands them his passport. They ask her if her husband is on drugs, he seems almost catatonic? Gina pulls out a pill bottle and says he is on antidepressants, but missed his last dose. They release Bo into her custody and then leave them alone. Gina asks Bo if he knows where he is?

Bo stands up and just says "My name is Bo Brady, I must complete my mission." Gina is shocked, and then remembers the sci-fi like operation she went under when she was given Gina's memories. Gina gets a call from Stefano, who wants to know if she has rescued Bo? Gina says yes, and he has not given them away. Stefano tells her to bring Bo back immediately. Gina says they are on their way, but when she hangs up, she says "We'll just see how much power you have over me!"

Gina and Bo go back to the house, and Stefano tells Bo that tomorrow he begins his life as his mercenary. Stefano asks Gina if she is ready for her new partner? Gina says it doesn't matter what she wants, she will do what she is told. Stefano tells her that is right, if she is not a loyal soldier than she will suffer the consequences. Rolf tells Stefano that the potion is wearing down and Bo will come out of it soon. Stefano and Rolf gather up the equipment and leave, but not before Stefano puts Bo at ease.

After they leave, Bo comes to and has another headache. He looks at Gina and asks her what happened, he's lost hours again. Gina says he was asleep, but he doesn't believe her.

Bo turns into Stefano and tells her that if she betrays him, she will suffer the consequences. Gina damns Stefano, and Bo says "You've seen Stefano!" Bo asks what the bastard is up to now? Bo grabs her and asks her what is happening to him, but then realizes she's working for Stefano and would never betray him.

Bo goes to leave, but she asks him not to leave, she is terrified. Bo asks why, and she says there is no one else she can trust. Bo asks her if Stefano told her to say that? Outside, Stefano tells Rolf that after Gina and Bo steal the painting, he will send them both to Salem to wreak ungodly hell on the town.

8/26 In the soundproof hidden chamber, original Gina is trying to scrape away more wall, when she becomes frustrated and says that she needs to find a better way out. Never fear, Gina's got a plan. Kurt arrives in the room and sees what appears to be Gina sleeping in her bed. He recalls when she almost got away from him the last time by sucker-punching him and making a beeline for the door. Kurt is just thankful she's asleep now.

As he goes to check on her, he pauses, and pulls the covers off the bed and finds that it is just pillows!! An astonished Kurt meets the business end of Gina's right hook and is down for the count. Gina exits the room and is happy to finally be free. Now she's going to find John herself. Gina starts to open her bedroom door, when she hears the laughter of people in her room. She can't believe someone is in there. Well, she's going to find out who it is right now.

In Paris, Bo is putting together the pieces of the past few days. Hmm, he ponders. Every time I wake up with a splitting headache and time missing, it's after having drinks with Hope. Therefore, Hope must be drugging him!! He tells "Hope" about his theory, and she tries to make him think he just can't hold his liquor.

Give it up, he says. You're drugging me and it's because I'm getting too close to the truth. You and DiMera do stuff while I'm passed out. Hope laughs it off, but Bo tells her again that if he does not help her, she's going to go crazy and die just like the real Princess Gina.

Bo has had enough of Gina, and says that he's going to leave, but Hope, recalling Stefano's mission for Bo, convinces him to stay in Paris and help her out with her past. In fact, she's got the perfect way. She tells him that the Duke and Duchess (who own the last Renet) have invited both of them to a party. She asks Bo if he'll go with her, and he smiles and says whatever she wants.

Bo leaves for his hotel room, and alone, Gina hears Stefano's and Bo's voices saying that she'll end up crazy. She shouts to no one in particular that she is not going crazy!

At his hotel room, Bo vows to get Hope back, and recalls the first time they made love in New Orleans. Back in reality, Bo is sure that he's scared her, and must turn her against Stefano now.

8/27 The original Princess Gina is about to enter, when she realizes that she is not armed. She returns moments later, hefting a sword. She's going to take care of the pesky teenagers! Then, she hears the waltz, and lays down the sword. She is imagining she is waltzing with John.

After making sure that Greta will be okay, he kisses her on the cheek and leaves. He does not see the real Gina, who is hiding. As Eric leaves, Gina decides to see who is in her room.

Alone, Greta sits at her mother's table and brushes her hair. She sees a jewelry box, and upon opening it, discovers a picture of a young Greta with her mother and a ribbon. The ribbon, Greta remembers, was what Gina gave to her when she was frightened. Gina said that the ribbon symbolized that she would always be there for her. Back in reality, Greta takes the picture and the ribbon to bed. She falls asleep with the ribbon around her hand.

At this point, Gina sneaks in and sees someone in her bed. She spies the picture on the nightstand table, and peers at the young woman in bed. Gina gasps and wonders if this could be her dear daughter, all grown up.

8/30 In Greta's room, Princess Gina looks at the photo of her and Greta on the night table, and then looks at the girl sleeping in her bed. She wonders if it is really her little girl all grown up. Greta tosses and turns in her bed and calls out "Eric?" Gina tells her no, it is your mother.

Greta is still asleep, and Gina just looks at her lovely daughter. She wonders who this Eric person is, and realizes Greta and Eric must be the people who came to the castle. She wonders why Kurt would lie to her about them, why would he not want her to see her daughter?

Gina says in spite of Stefano, she has been reunited with her daughter. Greta dreams of seeing her mother. In her dream Gina is in a robe and has her hair in a bun, but when her mom turns around, she is a skeleton! The skull morphs into a young Gina, who tells Greta how grown up and beautiful she is. Gina holds her daughter and promises never to leave her again.

In reality, her mother stroking her hair and telling her that she'll never leave her again. Greta finally wakes up and sees her mother at her bedside, but the face she sees is young and beautiful.

8/31 In Greta's room, Greta wakes up and sees her mother looking at her, but her face is very youthful. Greta says "Your alive?" and Gina says of course she is. Gina promises her daughter that she'll never leave her again, and Greta smiles. Gina tells Greta how much she has missed her. Greta sits up in her bed and grabs her candle. She holds the candle up, gets a good look at her mother's face, and then screams her head off!

Gina flees, and is caught by Kurt after she faints. Gina, who is now walking again, makes her way up the tower stairs with Kurt. Kurt tells her that she should never have left her room. Gina is furious with Kurt and asks why he has been keeping her from Greta? She realizes that Greta is not the little girl she sent off to boarding school, and realizes it has been much more than a few years.

Gina demands to know how long Stefano has been keeping her prisoner here? Kurt tells her that it has been nine years. Gina asks how that could be, how could she have lost all those years? Kurt says she wasn't well, and she was brought here for her protection. She asks why he wouldn't see her little girl?

Kurt says that Greta remembers her the way she was, and she remembers Greta as a little girl, and that sometimes its best to leave memories the way they are. Gina says she hasn't changed, but then asks have I? Gina picks up and mirror and when she looks into it, she gasps and exclaims "Oh my God, what has happened to me? It is no wonder Greta screamed when she saw me. What kind of mother am I?"

9/1 Gina is tossing and turning in her bed. In her dreams, Gina is sitting in a chair in a dungeon cell while Stefano MC's tonight main event. Stefano introduces, in this corner, a mercenary of his own creation, king of pawns, pawn of pawns, John Black!

Gina blurts out "Stefano no!" Gina rushes to John and tells him not to let Stefano do this too him, remember their plan to escape! Stefano introduces, in the other corner, his newest creation recently rescued from a French prison and molded into deadly combatant, Bo Brady!

Bo and John step into a circle drawn on the ground. As Stefano announces this will be hand to hand combat, survival of the fittest, only one man will walk away alive, Gina begs him to please don't make them do this. Stefano tells them to shake hands, and then fight! The bell rings and Gina watches as Bo and John circle each other in fighting stances.

They both take turns beating the heck out of one another, and when John gets close to Stefano, he hands him a knife! Gina tells Bo to look out, and Stefano says "I thought you wanted him dead?" Gina screams that she does not know what she wants, and Stefano holds her back.

Stefano tells her that is why Princess Gina went insane and warns her to be careful that it doesn't happen to you! John eventually stabs Bo in the gut, and Gina screams out "No!" John lets out a victory growl and holds the bloody knife out for Stefano and Gina to see when Bo suddenly clobbers him from behind. Bo gets John in a choke hold and eventually breaks his neck.

After John is dead, Bo keels over from the stab wound. Gina runs to them both and cries. She is eventually woken up by Stefano. She shouts "No!" as she wakes up, and Stefano looks at her with a puzzled look. Stefano shakes her and tells her that she was dreaming. He asks her what is wrong? She tells him nothing, she was just having a dream.

Stefano says she was having an nightmare and was terrified. Gina claims she was just startled to find him here. Gina asks him to give her a moment to change. Stefano wonders why she has suddenly become so shy after all they have meant to one another. Gina says she is just a little upset. Stefano asks if her nightmare was about him, or her beloved John?

Gina turns away from him, and Stefano tells her that her emotions will be her downfall. Gina asks him nicely to please wait for her downstairs, but he says no, he enjoys being around her in such an intimate setting. Gina lights up a cigarette and asks Steffie just what is it that he wants? Stefano says he wants her to give Bo the next potion so he can have him completely in his control. Gina says Bo is not here, he's at his hotel.

Stefano tells her to get him here! Gina says it is too fast, Bo is becoming suspicious of her. She says she will do it when she thinks it is right, but Stefano says she will do it tonight! Gina wants to know what he has in mind for Bo? Stefano tells her that his plans for Bo will begin when he is fully transformed.

Stefano sees the worried look on Gina's face and asks her if she is starting to care about Bo Brady? Gina looks at him and then sternly says she does not care about Bo, and she also doesn't care about his attitude. Stefano tells her "Too damn bad, I made you!" Gina says she knows that, but doesn't enjoy being treated as a slave. Stefano tells her that she is living in the lap of luxury and now she has a way to get rid of Bo.

He also tells her that she will never have John, John is lost to her forever. Gina replies "So you keep reminding me." Stefano tells her she can still have a good life as long as she follows his instructions. Gina puts on her lipstick and asks why he is being so secretive about his plans for Bo. She starts stroking his face and asks "Are you never going to forgive me for my transgressions?” Bo is shocked to find John at his door greeting him with "Yo Bo, What's up?" Bo asks why he is here?

John says Eric called him for help exhuming Gina's body. Bo is shocked and says he has been waiting to hear from Eric. John tells Bo that Eric said he called him, but Bo claims he never got a call from Eric. John says that is why he wanted to check him out first before he.

Suddenly, Bo is hit with a dizzy spell. John asks him what is going on? Bo and John sit down and John tells him that he looks like hell, is he sick? Bo says no, he's just had some encounters with some French wine. Bo tells John to forget about him, they have to deal with Gina.

John remembers his meeting with "Hope" before his wedding to Marlena and how she acted. John still isn't sure if Hope is Gina, but Bo says she's no longer the woman he loves. He suspects that she and DiMera are up to something, and he needs his help. John asks why he thinks he can help? Bo tells him Gina is in love with him.

Bo shows John the passports he found in Gina's safe deposit box, and tells him about the small fortune also in the box. Bo says that it is obvious they were planning to run away at one time, but Stefano stopped them. Gina tried to make their plans come true the day she called him to the mountain the day of his wedding. He continues to tell John that he is trying to reach Hope, but Gina's love for him is very strong. John asks what he can do, and Bo says he has a plan.

9/2 In the castle, real Gina is holding the photo and looking into a huge wall sized mirror at herself. She's upset about all the years she lost with her daughter. Kurt arrives with her breakfast, carefully locking the door behind him. He tells her it's imperative she never leave that room again. She doesn't take that news so happily, especially with Greta downstairs. He uses her health as an excuse not to tell her about Greta being there. She can't blame Greta for being scared out of her wits after seeing her.

She figures Greta probably thinks she saw a ghoulish old witch in the castle and must think she's dead, not really alive. She looks at Kurt for an answer. She figures that why Greta screamed when she saw her. Kurt's silence confirms her suspicion. Kurt tells her he can't let her do it and she tells him if he's her friend, prove it and take her to her daughter. Kurt refuses as he has strict orders and walks out. Gina clasps the picture to her chest, telling Greta she loves her. She tells herself it's time she turn the tables on Steffie.

John walks into Gina's Paris house. He tells her he hadn't seen her since the day he married Marlena and we see Gina having flashes of taking John's wedding ring off and tossing it on the floor in the sub. She remembers that with a smile and then remembers leaving John's ring on the table and heads for it. John grabs her arm and tells her not so fast, you have some explaining to do, while she gazes at the ring just sitting there.

She goes for a kleenex and quickly puts the ring in it and hides in it her cleavage. She offers John a drink, but he says no, and she's changed since he saw her last. But he tells her last time he saw her was at his wedding. She's a little disappointed, but rattles off plans for them including dinner, shopping, and doing Paris.

Nope, John tells her she has the wrong idea as to why he's there. He tells her no, he's not there to explore their past history and that's never going to happen. He tells her that Bo's worried about her, feeling her life is in danger because of Stefano. He tells her she and Bo should be together and happy just like he and Marlena are.

She tests his patience by asking where Marlena is then. He explains she's home with the kids, but gave him her blessing to come there. When she ask why he's there, he explains to help Greta and Eric explore the real Gina's past, but for Greta, not for himself as he doesn't give a damn about her. She tells him she's isn't Hope, she's Gina, and will always love him. John tells her Stefano doesn't control him anymore.

He warns her that if she doesn't knock it off, and reach out for the man who does love her, she will turn up like the real Gina. He yells at her that he's going back to his life with Marlena, he's never going to love her and to get it through her head. He pushes her away as she begs him to stay and shuts the door in her face. She crumples by the door in tears.

Bo is on the phone with Alice in Salem. She encourages him to keep working on getting through Gina's defenses to get Hope to surface. He tells Alice he won't let her down and will bring Hope back to her family and friends in Salem.

Alice tells him his love for Hope will give him strength and he in return tells her that her support gives him strength. She tells him that he's family and that Tom and her loved him like one of their own. She asks what she can do to help? He tells her what she can do and she agrees (although we don't hear it).

He remembers back to their pinkie swear scene and when they were outside a long time ago and he gave her the moon. He said wherever she goes, the moon will be there shining just for her. More scenes from New Orleans when he gives his Rhett Butler reply while swooping her up into his arms in her red gown and carries her up the staircase. More flashbacks of the 4th of July picnic where she kisses him after he tells her she couldn't handle one.

Back to the present, he hopes John was successful with Gina and stands up, dizzy again. He grabs his keys and heads out for Phase II. We see Bo later in a restaurant. He looks up as a couple walks in and greets Doug & Julie Williams. Julie tells Bo that Alice called and insisted they meet him here right away and Doug asks where is his "Princess".

9/3 In Bo's hotel room, John is not too happy with the idea Bo has suggested for getting Hope back but Bo swears it's the only way to reach the real Hope, to get to the woman he loves that is buried inside the "Gina" person. Bo starts to get dizzy as John asks if he is all right and Bo's eyes get glazed over. Bo is slumped over in a chair as John taps his face to wake him up.

When Bo comes to he can't explain to John what happened but that it has happened before. He says it started since he got to Paris and there are chunks of times he can't account for. Bo thinks it's got to be Hope - Gina's doings. Bo tells John he is sure Gina is responsible and he's even confronted her about it but of course she's denied everything. Bo knows that Stef is calling the shots, that's why he turned Hope into Gina.

John notices bruises on Bo's knuckles and Bo is puzzled as to how they got there. They discuss Princess Gina and that Hope wants to live as her because she thinks her and John will be together somehow. Bo says Gina has it in her head that she will be with John and that only John can close that door on the fantasy. John says he has tried but Bo says he as to be hard, brutal and cruel, to do whatever it takes.

John says he can't to that to Princess Gina or Hope but he can do it to this devil pawn of Stefano's. Now alone, Bo knows that John will do whatever is necessary to convince Gina there is no future but he also knows that she will be devastated. She may actually lose it so he has to set the rest of his plans in motion but for it's too late to reach Hope.

In the meantime, Gina and Stef are at Gina's house and she pours her a drink and Stef notices her hand shaking but she covers saying she feels another reality check coming and she's getting damn tired of them. She asks what more she has to do as Stef says just keep giving Bo the potion. She says that she can't. Stef questions her about this as she says Bo already suspects that he turned her into Gina and that they have been meeting secretly.

Stef says he can suspect all he wants. Gina asks what if he figures it out? Stef promises this will all be moot once Bo is transformed into his pawn and reminds her of her mission and that she WILL administer the rest of the potion. He also says that she will attend the Duke and Duchess' party to steal the Renet without Bo! She says she thought that was why he was transforming Bo, to help steal the Renet.

Stef says there are other possibilities for Bo to serve him for years to come. Gina is not sure she can steal the painting alone but Stef says not only can she but she will! She asks what happens after the painting is stolen. Stef says she will know when she needs to know. She says that he promised they could pick up where they left off but he says he doesn't want her to think, just obey.

Stef leaves and says he will be in touch and we see him outside calling Rolf to tell him to set up the final stages. Once Bo's transformation is complete Gina will go back to Salem and no one will know that he will be using "Bo and Hope" to fulfill his ultimate revenge against the Bardes.

Back inside, Gina is thinking to herself that it will be risky to go against Stef but she has no regrets about it. She also says she must get that device from Rolf and transform John back into the old John and this time she'll make certain Stef does not find them. She is playing with John's wedding ring and lays it down on the table as she says she must keep giving the potion to Bo so that Stef won't get suspicious. The doorbell rings and she opens the door to find John standing there. She throws her arms around him, kisses him and says I knew you would come back to me - you could never forget me, my darling. John realizes that Bo is right.

9/6 Princess Gina was still smoking, and looking at the picture of Greta. Kurt took her some fresh flowers, but Gina said fresh flowers wouldn't do "a damn thing" for her. She told Kurt that Stefano had robbed her of John and Greta's love. Kurt asked Gina about the last thing she remembered before heading there. Gina told him that she remembered being at Maison Blanche. In a flashback, Stefano told a youthful-looking Gina that he had asked Rolf to help her; Rolf would perform a procedure to help remove the mood swings she was going through.

Back in the present, Gina told Kurt that Stefano might as well have killed her. However, one day soon he would regret that he had not. Gina told Kurt that Stefano had stolen her entire being during the procedure. Kurt asked if something could have gone wrong during the procedure, but Gina said Stefano never made mistakes. In a flashback, Gina remembered hearing Stefano tell Rolf to get Hope Williams ready for the procedure; he wanted the change to be seamless.

Kurt asked Gina who Hope Williams was, and what she had to do with the procedure. Gina said she didn't know; she just remembered Stefano telling Rolf to get her. Gina said the next thing she remembered was being there. Gina looked at her picture of Greta, but Kurt said he needed to return the picture to Greta before she noticed it was gone. Gina gave it to him and said when they were reunited, she wanted to look like she had in this photograph. Kurt left, and Gina looked out the window and saw Eric and Greta returning. She said that one day Greta would look at her and smile, not scream.

Kurt returned to Gina's room and asked if she knew the Duke and Duchess of Haraman? Gina said they were close friends, and wanted to know why he was asking. He said that they were throwing a party in her honor.

Julie asked Bo if he and Hope were going to marry in Paris. Doug offered to make arrangements to fly Alice over, but Bo said that was not it. Bo said he wanted to marry Hope, but she was gone and they had to get her back first. They thought that Hope was missing literally, but Bo told them it was not what they thought.

Bo explained to them that when Hope had been missing those four years, they had thought she was dead, but Stefano had changed her into Princess Gina Von Amberg. He told them that Stefano had once again changed Hope back into Princess Gina. Doug wanted to know what was going on, so Bo told them to sit down so they could talk. Bo explained everything to them, and they were furious.

Bo told them that Hope thought she was Gina, but she still had all of Hope's memories. Doug asked Julie what they could do to help get Hope back. Bo was glad they had asked, and then explained what he wanted them to do. In a flashback, Doug gave a very young Hope a baby blanket that her mom had knitted for her when she was pregnant. Doug told her that she had loved the blanket, and thought that maybe her baby -- Shawn D -- would like it too. Hope told Doug that she loved it and gave him a kiss.

Doug wished he and Hope had remained closer, but Julie said they were there for her at that moment, and that was all that counted. Bo suggested they go see Hope immediately, but warned them that she wouldn't jump for joy when she saw them. As they got up, Bo was hit by another dizzy spell, but attributed it to lack of sleep.

Gina was still in tears from John's rejection. She screamed, "Damn you, Stefano!" Gina began to remember Bo warning her that she would go insane or end up dead like the real Gina, and then she heard John telling her that he would never love her. Gina covered her ears with her hands and screamed, "No, No, Stop!"

When the voices stopped, Gina guzzled down some champagne and then made a call to Bo's room. Unfortunately he was not there, and she didn't leave a message. She told herself that she wished Bo were ther; for some unknown reason she felt safer when he was around.

Gina said she wanted Bo's help, but she wanted to live as Gina, not Hope. As she rubbed her head, Gina said she could not live without John anymore. She also told herself that she would not let herself go mad like the real Gina. Gina wondered how she and John could escape from Stefano, and then remembered the letter.

She once again began to ransack the place, searching for the letter. Gina wondered if the letter was at the castle, and decided to go there. As she was thinking about leaving, someone arrived at her door. She thought it was probably Stefano, and was shocked when she found Bo, Doug, and Julie standing on her doorstep.

9/7 John promised Greta that he would have Gina exhumed and an autopsy performed on her. Eric asked if John remembered anything by being there, but John didn't. Greta asked him if he had seen "Hope" and asked how she was. John said that Hope was under Stefano's control; she was Princess Gina once again.

Later, Greta told John that she had seen her mother, but Eric said it had been a dream. Greta insisted it hadn't been a dream, and she explained everything that had happened when her mother had visited her, how she had looked old and scary. Greta said she knew it was real because her mother had touched her.

Greta and Eric gave John a tour of the castle. When John saw the portrait of Gina in her room, he let out a "Whoah!" Greta asked him what was wrong, and wondered if he was remembering something. John said it was more of a feeling, and he told Greta that he felt her vision. John said he felt that Gina was very close, eerily close, to them at that moment.

Kurt was unhappy that Gina was not eating her food. Gina said she needed to be with her daughter, but Kurt told her that was not possible. Gina became upset and yelled, "So you keep saying!" Gina told Kurt "to hell with" him and his pronouncements; she would make it possible. She swore to Kurt that she would hold her daughter in her arms again.

Kurt asked Gina to trust him, insisting she didn't always think too clearly and she got confused. Gina asked Kurt what she was confused about. Kurt said she was confused about her daughter and her daughter's reaction to her. He told her that she couldn't go to Greta, looking the way she did, which was why she had to trust him. Kurt told her that her food had grown cold, so he would prepare her something else to eat. Kurt grabbed her tray and left.

Gina looked in the mirror and saw herself as the young and beautiful woman she had once been. Gina heard a young Greta telling her that she wanted to be as beautiful as her mother when she grew up, and then Gina heard an adult Greta screaming. In the mirror, Gina's youthful image faded. She said that Kurt was right; she couldn't see her precious baby, looking like she did.

Gina ended up trashing a portrait of John, and then quickly began another painting. However, the painting was of a sleeping Greta. Kurt returned with a hot meal for Gina, and looked at her sketch. He was amazed that she remembered Greta so well. Gina said that the image was burned into her brain. Kurt said that she was beautiful. Gina said yes, "but I am not." Gina was sad because she had lost the two people she loved most in the world, Greta and John.

Gina said that she finally knew that John was not returning for her. Kurt picked up the portrait of John that Gina had thrown across the room, and Gina told him to throw it away because she couldn't stand to look at it when there was no hope of his returning. Kurt left with the painting, and Gina talked to her portrait of Greta. She said that Greta was so close, but so far away. However, Greta was not as far away as the man that Gina loved, the man she'd never see again. Gina told herself that John would never return for her, so she needed focus on Greta.

Downstairs, John made some calls, and the exhumation was scheduled to begin shortly. John told Eric and Greta that he wasn't looking forward to it, and he wondered what surprises were out there for them "or in here."

At the Paris house, Gina/Hope answered the door, thinking it was Stefano, so she planned to be rude to him to make him go away. She opened the door and blew smoke in someone's face -- Julie's. Gina was shocked to find Bo, Doug, and Julie on her doorstep. She asked them what they were doing there. Julie just laughed, and Doug gave her a big hug.

Bo, Doug, and Julie walked in, and Julie quickly snatched Gina's cigarette away from her and said, "There, better." Doug asked when she started smoking. Bo said she just had one every once in a while, and Gina said it relaxed her. Julie told her that it did the opposite, "Nicotine is a stimulant. It zaps your energy, and makes you sick as a dog!"

Bo patted Julie on the shoulder to calm her down, and Doug said they should concentrate on their reunion. Bo suggested they all sit down and make themselves comfortable, so they did. Doug asked how his princess was doing, and Gina quickly snapped, "Why in the hell would you call me that?" Doug told her that was his pet name for her; he said it with affection.

Gina apologized and said she had been overly sensitive lately. Gina said she wished she had known they were visiting; she was very busy and didn't know how much time she could devote to them. Gina reminded Bo about the party, but Bo suggested Doug and Julie could join them. Doug said that they could talk about that later, and Gina asked them how long they were staying. Julie flashed an evil look.

Gina said she didn't mean to be rude, but they had intruded on her unannounced. Doug asked why she didn't want to see them, and Julie asked what Gina was afraid of. Gina knew it wasn't a casual visit; Bo had called them. Julie wanted to be straight and told Gina that they were there because Bo had asked them to be there because he was concerned about her.

Gina said she was fine, "Damn it," and turned her back to them. Doug told her that she was very different; she was not herself. Gina said they hadn't seen her for a while, and she had been under a lot of stress. The phone rang, and Gina answered it. As she was talking, Bo told Doug and Julie that it was probably Stefano on the phone. Gina told whoever it was that she would take care of it as soon as possible and hung up on them.

Doug told Hope that they had gotten a wonderful letter from Alice the other day; Shawn D was moving back home and would do his senior year at Salem High. Doug said that it seemed "like yesterday" when she had been that age. Bo said Shawn D was going home that weekend. Gina told him to go home to Salem and be with Shawn D, but Bo refused to leave her. She said she wasn't his codependent wife anymore; she could take care of herself.

Gina wondered why "in hell" they were all there. Julie told her that they were there because they loved her; she meant the world to them, and they wanted to be with her. Julie wondered, "Is that too much to ask?" Later, Bo served them all iced tea, and Julie told Gina that her father had been singing professionally again. Gina said "how exciting" without any enthusiasm. Julie remembered when Doug had sung to Hope at Doug's place. Doug said those were his favorite memories.

Doug told Gina that when he sang, he always dedicated one to her. He said that he introduced the song by telling the audience that he had an exceptional daughter, who was not only beautiful, but had a kind heart. He went on to say that she was the light of his life, and being a father to her made him want to be a better man. Finally, he said that along with Julie, his daughter was the best thing that had ever happened to him.

Julie told Doug to sing the song for his daughter. Doug turned to his daughter, lifted her head up with his hand under her chin, and sang to her. He sang, "You must have been a beautiful baby" to her. As he sang, Gina remembered flashes from Hope's life. Julie was moved to tears, and one tear streamed down Gina's face. Doug told "Hopie" that he knew she hadn't forgotten all those memories, and inside Gina's mind, Hope's voice cried out, "Daddy, please help me!" Gina blurted out loud, "Help me!"

9/8 Hope's voice blurted out, "Help Me!" When Bo put his arm on her shoulder and said they were there for that. Gina smacked his arm, backed away from him, and warned him not to get any closer. Julie and Doug got up, and Gina warned them all to stay away, or something awful would happen. Bo said they knew she was scared, but they were all there to help her because they loved her.

Gina said she did not want to hear that and turned her back on them. Bo told "Hope" that it would be okay, but Gina said since she arrived in Paris, everything had gone wrong because of him. Bo told her it was Stefano's fault; he was the one messing with her life. Bo told her that Stefano wasn't there and couldn't hurt her. Gina started giggling.

Bo told her about the trip they had taken to Paris with Shawn D. Doug told Gina that they remembered going to Paris with her when she was younger. Gina said she remembered, but soon she told herself that Hope was gone and was never going to be back. She began to become agitated, and told herself that she did not need them.

All the voices flooded into Gina's head, and she curled up in a ball on the floor and cried out, "No no no no!" Gina told them that if they cared for her, they would leave. Bo said they would leave if she wanted them to, but first he wanted to know if she remembered spending time with her family in Paris. "Hope" nodded and smiled, but Gina quickly took over and told Hope that she was gone and dead.

Julie told Gina about the chocolate shop in Paris that she had loved, the Black Cat. Gina remembered the memory of Hope's and said that she had loved that place. Julie told her that it was still there, and Bo suggested they go visit it. Bo put his hand out for her to take, and asked if "Hope" would show him the chocolate shop.

Gina told him that it was too late, but Bo said the stores in Paris were always open. Gina told herself that she couldn't wait until Stefano finished programming him. Bo called the chocolate shop and learned they were open all night. Gina had no choice but to go along with them. She took Bo's hand, and he kissed it.

As Gina put on her lipstick, she saw everyone staring at her. Bo told her that she was just so beautiful. Gina told him that he needed a new line, but Bo said he never needed a line with her before. Julie excused herself to freshen up, and Doug excused himself to check their messages.

When they were alone, Bo asked Gina if she was ready for a walk down memory lane? Gina was, as long as there weren't any expectations. She said a lot had changed, but Bo said not the important things. Gina told him that he was full of surprises lately. Bo told her to wait and see what he had in store for her that night. Bo put his hand on her cheek and told her that she hadn't seen Paris until she'd seen it with him. Gina touched Bo's cheek, and then hugged him.

9/9 In her room, Gina was pleading with Kurt to see Greta. Kurt said that she'd just have to be content with the drawing Gina had made, but after further pleading, Kurt relented. He took Gina to the portrait with the removable eyes, and Princess Gina saw Greta sitting in the chair.

Greta began talking to herself, saying that she could feel her mother's presence. Greta even recalled when she and her mom had gone to her favorite candy shop, and Gina had ordered dark chocolate truffles, because she liked the bitter with the sweet. Upon hearing the memory, Gina broke down, sobbing. Greta heard the crying, and called out to her mother. Kurt tried to get Gina to be quiet, but Gina continued wailing. Greta was panicky, and asserted that it was not a dream. Kurt tried to drag Gina away, but the woman refused. Greta pleaded for her mother to come out.

Outside, Eric waited with John as the grave diggers began to exhume the body from Gina's grave. The foreman said that they would take the body to the coroner's office and have it tested. John and Eric were confident that the tests would show that it was not Princess Gina's body in the coffin.

In the lab, Stefano and Rolf were talking. Steffie was worried that Hope/Gina might be going down the same destructive path that the real Gina had. That was why he wanted her to steal the last Renet, because after that, Hope/Gina would be expendable, and he wouldn't care if she went wacko like the real Gina. He also said that Hope/Gina needed to keep giving Bo the potion to turn him into his pawn.

Then sending the brainwashed Bo and Hope back to Salem would exact his final revenge on the Bradys. Rolf mentioned that he had never really understood the vendetta Stefano had against the Bradys. Stefano was vague and said that using Bo and Hope was the perfect irony for the revenge plans he had. Stefano was furious that Gina was not answering the phone, and decided to leave.

At the Paris house, Doug and Julie were pleased with the way that Hope was responding to all the memories. Bo was confident that Hope would break free of the Gina persona. When Hope returned, they decided to go to the chocolate shop that they had gone to when Hope was a little girl. As they left, the phone rang; it was Stefano trying to reach Gina.

At the shop, Hope ordered some dark chocolate truffles, just like the real Gina would. When Julie mentioned that Hope had never liked dark chocolate, Hope shook her head and changed her order to milk chocolate. Bo suggested they get some for Shawn D., and he pretended to forget what Shawn D. liked. Hope smiled and said chocolate cherries, and Bo was pleased that she would remember.

The group decided to go to dinner. But, Bo made a side trip to his hotel room to get a present for Hope. It was the music box that Bo had given to Hope for New Year's Eve many years before, and Hope remembered it. Misty-eyed, she excused herself to freshen up.

In the powder room, Gina looked into the mirror, and was startled to see Stefano, who was not too happy to see her.

9/10 In the castle, Greta was hearing a woman wailing and called out to her mother. Kurt pulled Gina away from the peephole, just as John and Eric entered. Gina heard John's voice and said that it sounded familiar. Kurt told Gina that they had to leave, and they did. Greta swore her mother was there.

Bo was wondering what was taking Hope so long. It was because Stefano had caught up with her. He notices that there is something different about her tonight, as he looks at her suspiciously. He told her that it was time to take the next step in Bo’s indoctrination and he wanted her to give Bo the potion. "Gina" adamantly said no that she couldn’t do that.

Dvd #40B Eric and John told her that the body that had been exhumed would have an autopsy performed, so they would know who it was and how they had died. Greta was surprised that they had found a body at all.

As Kurt and Gina went back to her room, Gina begged to go back to see Greta. She also told him that someone else besides Eric and Greta was in the castle, so they should go back and look. Kurt refused, but Gina gave him the slip and returned to the peephole. John was calling to find out any results of the autopsy. Gina looked through the peephole, and saw the back of John. John began to turn around, as Gina looked on.

Stefano widened his eyes at Gina’s refusal. She covered, saying that she couldn't right then because of the complications. Stefano looked out and saw Doug and Julie. He was mad that Bo had called them.

”Gina" began complaining about how boring those people were and that she just wanted to live her life as Gina. Gina tried to talk Stefano out of turning Bo into his new pawn, and Stefano began to question just whose side she was on, Bo's or his. Gina said that she was on Stefano's side, of course, but she wanted to know what he had planned for Bo next.

Steffie said that Bo would participate in a fight, and Gina recalled her nightmare with Bo and John in the battle where both men had died. Before she could protest any further, Stefano put the potion into her hands and told her to follow his orders exactly. Bo saw Stefano with Hope and demanded to know what he was doing with her. He issued the "At Ease, Soldier" command, and Bo was briefly disoriented.

Gina slipped the potion into her purse, and then pretended that she had not known that Stefano was in Paris. Stefano confirmed the lie, but Bo did not believe him. "Hope" told Bo that she wanted to leave, and they did. Bo and Hope said goodnight to Doug and Julie, and Hope thought to herself that she was not going to give Bo the potion. Bo and Hope left, as Stefano watched them, shaking his head.

9/13 Gina is spying on John, Greta, and Eric from behind the wall. She can't see John's face, but recognizes his voice. Kurt tells Gina that she must get back to her room, but on the way there Gina remembers that she forgot to close the spy holes and doesn't want Eric and Greta to learned they were being watched. Gina eavesdrops and later asks Kurt what all this talk of a body is about? Kurt tells her that they are exhuming her grave. Gina thinks it will be empty, but then hears John mention a woman's body in the grave. She asks Kurt who Stefano buried in her grave? Kurt doesn't answer her, he just whisks her back to her room.

Upstairs Gina thinks that once the autopsy proves she is not buried in the grave, Greta will know she is not dead. Kurt tells Gina that Stefano would not want her roaming around free, but Gina doesn't care what Stefano wants. Gina vows to take her life back and get revenge on Stefano. She looks at herself in the mirror and asks Kurt how he is at cutting hair?

John learns that Princess Gina is buried in the grave, they matched her dental records, and she died of natural causes. Greta is heartbroken.

Bo chases Gina/Hope until he catches her and asks if she ran away because of something Stefano said? Gina dodges the question, and Bo works on her some more. He tells her that he is not going to leave her until he knows she is safe. Gina smiles and tells him that she knows that.

As they sit at a little bistro, Bo and Hope's song comes on over the radio. Gina asks how he did that, but Bo says he didn't. Bo asks her to dance, and as he holds her close, Gina has conflicting memories. She has memories of her times with John, but also of Hope's life with Bo. Bo tells Gina that he knows she is opening up and letting Hope out. Gina asks how he knows? Bo tells her that he can feel their souls connecting. Gina smiles and says she feels it too.

Stefano is worried about Gina, and Rolf knows why. Rolf knows that Stefano fears that now that Gina has lost John, she will go mad like the real Gina did. Stefano says yes, but he's also worried about Gina's growing fondness for Bo. Rolf shows Stefano a CD which has "Hope Williams Brady's memories" printed on the cover and tells him that this is all that remains of Hope.

He also has a CD for Bo as well, and starts working on their plans for him. Stefano is still concerned, and when they talk about the real Gina, Stefano is positive that the poor thing is probably mad by now. Later, Stefano decides to call Gina to find out when she gave Bo the potion and when they can meet her at the house.

9/14 In Paris at the castle, Gina tells Kurt that she will reclaim her life and daughter, and Kurt will help her. Kurt says it is not wise but Gina says what he thinks is wise is agony to her. Gina demands Kurt to take her to the Duke and Duchess' party. Kurt says he cannot allow that. Gina tells him that he is just as much a prisoner in this castle as she is. She tells him that they can make Stefano pay for what he has done to them.

Kurt says that Stefano is keeping her here for her protection, but Gina says that is rubbish. She says that when Stefano had no use for her, he hid her away. Kurt is confused and asks what she did for him? Gina says she was his art dealer, so to speak. She tells him that she and John used to relieve artworks for Stefano from their collectors.

Gina tells Kurt how she and John were wonderful together, and it was inevitable that they fell in love. She tells him about their plans to take Greta and escape to their secret place. Kurt asks why they just didn't stop working for John? Gina tells him that Stefano controlled John, but she won his heart and soul. She tells Kurt that after John was taken away, she was broken and could not function. She even sent her daughter to boarding school because she couldn't be a mother to her.

She says that Stefano told her that he could cure her depression at Maison Blanche, but instead she was banished to this place. She says that John must be dead, and Stefano must pay for what he has done. She begs Kurt to help her get her revenge. Kurt says that Stefano never loses, but Gina says that is an old wives tale. Gina knows she can beat Stefano, and asks Kurt to think about the freedom he will gain.

Gina is also curious about the Duke and Duchess party, is it a memorial for her? Kurt says perhaps they will get the answers there, he will take her. Gina leaps into his arms and thanks him. Gina wonders what assassins where to a ball, for that is why she is going, to kill Stefano!

Gina/Hope and Bo are still dancing. Bo tells her that he knows Hope is inside of her, he can see the love in her eyes when she looked at the photo of Shawn D. Bo urges Hope to let go of Gina and fight her way back to him. Gina tells Bo that Hope is not coming back and he has to accept that.

Gina tells Bo it is too late, but Bo says it isn't. He tells her that Stefano has convinced her that she has to be Gina, but their is nothing glamorous or right about this. Bo says that she is clinging to a past that will destroy her, and if she doesn't let go of it she will go mad just like the real Princess Gina.

Gina gets up to leave, but Bo grabs her and puts his arms around her. He says he will not lose her again. Gina says she is so scared and is in tears. Bo tells her that she belongs with him. Bo tells Hope that he could feel that she wanted to live with love, not in fear. He tells her that together they can destroy DiMera, DiMera cannot hurt her. Gina remembers Stefano telling her that if she didn't drug Bo, he could make her totally loyal and obedient. A frightened Gina runs away from Bo.

At the lab, Stefano is worried that Gina is still not at home. Rolfe suggests that maybe she took Bo out for a nightcap to drug him. Stefano calls Gina again, but there is no answer. He decides to call Bo Brady's room, but he is not their either. Gina shows up later and tells them that she gave Bo the potion and he became violently ill, Rolfe must have made a mistake.

Stefano wonders if her family reunion has soften her up? Gina says Doug and Julie had no effect on her whatsoever. Rolfe comes up with an antidote for Gina to give to Bo. Stefano tells Gina to stay right here, and leaves. Rolfe tells Gina that if she is lying to protect Bo, her fate is sealed! Gina says that her fate was sealed when they transformed her back into Gina. She says that she could go mad just like the real Gina, but she will destroy him and Stefano first! GIna leaves the lab, leaving Rolfe worried.

Gina returns home and finds Stefano waiting for her there. When she gets inside she sees Bo sleeping on the couch, and wonders what Stefano has done to him. She asks him what he has done to Bo? A doctor shows up and says she has given Bo medication for the nausea. The doctor leaves and Stefano tells Gina that the potion had an adverse effect on Bo, and he apologizes for mistrusting her. Gina tells him not to worry and says good-night. Stefano leaves, but he smiles outside.

Gina runs to Bo's side, and he wakes up. Bo says he is fine, he faked the whole thing. He even hired the doctor to help him. Gina asks how he knew? Bo says that he followed her to DiMera's place and heard everything. Gina thanks Bo for saving her life. Bo tells her that she risked her life for her love of him. Bo touches her cheek, and Gina takes his hand and kisses it. Gina then breaks into tears in his arms.

9/17 At the chateau, Bo calls Greta and convinces her to go all out tonight at the Harriman's ball as Princess Gina's daughter. She reluctantly agrees. She then dresses up in her mother's clothes and jewelry.

Greta enters the foyer, and John and Eric are also taken aback by the resemblance. Greta says that even though her mother is dead, she is alive in Greta, and wearing her clothes and jewelry makes her feel close to her. Greta says that after the Harriman ball, she will be returning to Salem, and will sell the chateau. John thinks it is a good idea, and wonders where the deed to the house is. She says that it is in her room, and Eric offers to get it.

Alone, Greta tells John that she's going to pretend that Hope is her mother at the Harriman ball, which concerns John. Upon learning that John is leaving, she asks him to stay, at least until after the party.

Kurt arrives in Gina's room, and tells her that he's got a big surprise for her. He says that she should put on some makeup and he will get an outfit for her to wear. Gina can't help but wonder what the surprise is, because the ball is not until the evening.

In his lab, Stefano announces to Bart that they're going to have to change their plans for Bo because of the bad reaction to the potion Rolf concocted. However, the plans are still in motion to use Hope to steal the last painting. Bart wonders about Gina's loyalty, but Stefano is confident that Gina will not betray him. He is worried, however, about Gina's mental state.

Bart also wonders what Stefano is going to do about Bo, especially since he's not going to turn him into his pawn. Stefano says that if Bo gets in the way, he'll take care of him. Bart asks his boss if he plans to resume his life with Gina after they steal the painting. Stefano does not answer right away, and when Bart asks again, Stefano says that with the last painting his Renet collection will be complete, and Gina will be expendable.

In her room at the Paris house, Gina is hearing voices and Hope is fighting to break through. She has flashes of her Gina memories, dancing with Father John, stealing paintings, etc. Then, she remembers last night with Doug, Julie and Bo. She's clearly at odds with the two personas. She's startled when Bo comes in, but she runs into his arms and tells him that she would do anything for him. Bo knows this, especially since she disobeyed Stefano by lying that she gave the potion to Bo.

Gina says that Bo saved her life by going along with the story she concocted about him having a bad reaction to it. They agree that they need to work together to take Stefano down. He tells her that she has to go along with Stefano's plan to steal the last Renet. Gina is stunned that he knows about that, but Bo says that he put all the clues together and figured out that she stole lots of paintings for Stefano.

But this time, the tables will be turned, because Bo is going to catch Stefano with the stolen painting and put him in prison! Gina is nervous, and does not think she can do it, but Bo assures her that he will protect her. She finally agrees, and leaves to go see Steffie.

9/20 In Paris at the castle, Gina is looking at the sketch she drew of Greta and is counting the hours till she meets her. Gina wonders what Kurt's surprise is for her, but could it possibly compare to the joy of being with her daughter again? Gina paces the room with a long cigarette in her hand. She looks at herself in the mirror and says she cannot go to the ball looking like this, and she wonders where Kurt is.

Kurt realizes that Gina is going to be heartbroken to learn the truth about John. He goes into see Gina, who is anxious to know what her surprise is. She asks him not to keep her in suspense! He fears Gina could not go on if she knew the truth about John. Kurt present her with diamonds, it was a gift from the Prince Von Amburg to her years ago. He also presents her with a dress. Gina remembers the dress, she says John spilled champagne on it once. Kurt tells her that he can't see the stain.

Kurt then asks what she thinks happened to John? Gina thinks that John must be dead. Kurt asks what if Stefano did something to John's memory? Gina says it is possible, John was under Stefano's control since he was a child. She tells Kurt, who is shocked, that she and John were Stefano's art thieves.

She tells him that she and John stole all known Rennets for Stefano, all but the one the Duke and Duchess have, which they will see tonight at the ball. Kurt suggests that Stefano might have stolen John's memories, that is why he hasn't come. Gina refuses to believe that John could forget her, but Kurt says that he is afraid John has.

Kurt says perhaps Stefano learned the truth about her and John and robbed him of his memory. Gina refuses to believe that and says she will not listen to him any longer, only one thing could have kept John from her. Kurt fears this party will bring back too many memories of her life with John tonight. Gina, who is crying, says she will not cry any more because tonight will be Stefano's turn to shed tears for the pain he has caused her.

At the Paris house, Doug and Julie show up and Bo tells them about his and Gina/Hope's plan to nail DiMera. Doug is happy that they got through to Hope yesterday, but he fears for his daughter's safety around DiMera. Bo says DiMera couldn't do anything worse to her than he already has. Still, both Doug and Julie are worried about Hope, they don't even know if Hope is back. Bo is positive because Hope lied to DiMera last night to protect him.

Bo gets a call from John to ask if there is anything he can do? Bo tells him that he can handle it, but he set everything in motion and he thanks him for that. John tells Bo that if he needs anything to just call him. After the call, Doug tells Bo that no way is Hope going to the party tonight! Bo says that Hope wants to do this, she knows it is the only way to get her life back. Bo convinces them to come to the party and look after Hope with him.

In the lab, Gina shows up to see Steffie. Stefano tells her that tonight she will steal the final Rennet for him. Gina tells Stefano that she cannot wait! Gina says tonight everyone will accept her as the real Princess Gina, and everyone, even him, will bow to her. Stefano says once she has acquired Spring Morning for him, he will be happy to bow to her. Gina asks Stefano if the reason he brought her back is to complete this final job? He says partially, he has other plans for her which she will have to wait to learn about.

Gina asks what his plans are, are they going to retire and live off of her bacra winnings? Stefano tells her that he will no longer impose his will on her, she will have her freedom. Gina is shocked, but says she is looking forward to a life of danger and excitement. However, she wonders what he will do with Bo? Stefano says Bo will be dealt with soon. GIna demands to know what he is going to do to Bo.

Stefano asks why she cares? GIna says that because she is part of this plan and doesn't work well in the dark. Stefano smiles and says he disagrees. Gina gives him a "touche," but still wants to know what he is going to do with Bo. She says if he won't be a pawn, he should be allowed to go back to Salem and get him out of their hair. Stefano thinks he knows what is going on, she is afraid of losing Bo.

Gina says she is the one who saved Bo from the potion the other night and covered his tracts by saying he had food poisoning. Stefano tells Gina that Bart will take care of Bo, and suddenly Bart shows up. Bart, Stefano, and Gina look at a map of the castle and plan the theft.

Stefano tells Gina that she will ask to Duchess to use one of their guest rooms because she will get a dizzy spell, and after everyone has left, she will go to work. Stefano presents Gina with a forgery of Spring Morning. Gina feels it and says she did not paint that. Stefano says the real Gina was a brilliant artist, but she is a brilliant thief.

Stefano says this is the one heist the real Gina failed, but she will not fail him. Gina asks once again what happened to the real Gina. Stefano says she died shortly after the transformation at Maison Blanche. Stefano tells Gina that by following his orders tonight, she will prove her loyalty to him. Gina tells Stefano that tonight Bo will realize Hope is gone and Gina is here to stay. Stefano tells Gina that once she has the Rennet, she may do what she sees fit with her life. The two then toast to a perfect crime, and everything they dream of.

9/21In Paris at the castle, Original Gina tells Kurt that John is gone, but she is not. Gina tells Kurt that Stefano may think she is crazy, but he will soon learn. Gina says she plans to avenge John's death at the party tonight. Kurt tells her that she cannot go to the party tonight. Gina says "How dare you forbid me to attend!" Kurt says that the Harriman's believe she is dead, which is why Gina says she must attend! She says that she will get her revenge on Stefano, after she forces him to tell her how her beloved John died.

Kurt says DiMera will just lie to her, and Gina says he is right. However, she says she could turn DiMera into the authorities, she knows enough about his art crimes to have him put away. Kurt says that she and John stole the painting, DiMera would implicate her and she would lose everything. Gina laughs and tells Kurt that she has already lost everything, John, Greta, her sanity, her beauty! Gina says she has nothing left to lose, nothing! Gina tells him to bring the car around while she gets ready.

Kurt says she can't go, but Gina says she will and she shall! Kurt returns after Gina has changed into her black dress and diamonds. He tells her that she can't go to the ball dressed as she is, everyone will recognize her. He suggests she wear a black hat and veil, but Gina says it will make her look like Mata Hari. Kurt reminds her that she has sensitive skin and has to protect it from the light.

Gina takes the veil and puts it on, and says this shall work very well. This way, Gina says she will make Stefano suffer, but he will not know who has done it to him! Gina knows that the only reason Stefano is going to the party is for the Rennet, it is all he ever cared about.

Gina remembers painting the final forgery for Stefano years after he took John from her. Stefano told her how she was supposed to steal the painting that night, but Gina tells Kurt that she failed the heist. Kurt brushes Gina's hair and asks Gina what exactly she is planning for tonight? Gina tells him that he shall find out soon. She tells Kurt to go get in his tux, she doesn't have all day son.

Kurt asks if she just called him son? Gina says yes, as he pointed out she can't go to this ball as herself, she will go as his mother! Kurt smiles and says very well mother, and then he leaves to change into his tux. Gina looks at a painting of John and says Stefano can choke on his damn Rennet, this is the only painting she will treasure. Though she can't bring him back from the dead, Gina says she can make Stefano suffer for what he has done to them.

John calls his pilot to tell him to get the plane ready to return to Salem. Meanwhile, Princess Gina and Kurt are making their way out of the castle to head to the ball. Kurt opens the secret passage and is about to walk out with Gina, unaware that they are about to step into the room where John is! However, John leaves the room right before Gina and Kurt enter.

At the Paris house, Bo is getting ready for the ball. Julie and Doug show up, and Bo calls out Hope thinking it is her. Doug is furious to learn that Hope isn't back from seeing DiMera yet. Doug fears that Gina might betray him tonight, but Bo says Hope won't let that happen. Doug refuses to let Hope go to this party and he says he will go find Hope now and bring her back.

Bo stops him as he is leaving and says he can't let him do that. Doug says he is Hope's father and he has to protect her and go get her. Bo says that if he does that he will sign Hope's death warrant. Doug thinks that Bo has risked her life by sending her to DiMera, but Bo says this is the only way they can get Hope back and put Stefano away.

In the lab, Gina/Hope and Stefano toast to the realization of their dreams and his soon to be complete collection of Rennets. Stefano asks Gina how he can make her fondest dreams come true? Gina says she is his creation, she has no dreams of her own. Stefano says that is nonsense. He tells her if everything goes right tonight she will be free to live her life as Princess Gina. Gina and Steffie then toast to Princess Gina. Gina asks if she is as lovely as the real Gina was? Stefano says she and the real Gina are identical in looks, but the real became depressed when she lost John.

Gina realizes that Stefano took her to Maison Blanche after her descent into madness. Stefano says he did, and tells her no more questions! The voices in Gina's head return, and Gina tells herself that she will not let this happen to her! Gina asks Stefano once again what happened to Gina after the memory transfer? What went on inside her head? Stefano says he no longer cared because he had her. Gina says that is when he told Greta her mother died, and brought her to Europe to impersonate Gina. Stefano says she became Gina, she did not impersonate her.

Gina leaves the lab and struggles with what to do tonight. She knows if Stefano finds out she betrayed him tonight, he would kill her. Gina tells herself to forget Bo's plan, steal the painting, give it to Stefano, and get her freedom. She says her life is on the line and their is no guarantee Bo's plan will work. She lights up a cigarette, but burns herself in doing so.

Back in the lab, Burt asks Stefano what will happen if Gina breaks down again, just like the real Gina did right when she was supposed to steal the painting? Stefano says he'd hate to have to build another castle, but says that is a bad joke. Stefano is positive that this Gina will not fail, and that Bart should make room in the gallery for the crown jewel! Bart leaves and Stefano tells himself that one day his Von Amburg forgeries might fetch a high price in the art underground, depending on the fate of the artist. Stefano says that Gina wants her freedom so desperately, it is a shame she can't have it, once she delivers the paintings into his hands he will have to keep her silent somehow, one way or the other!

Gina returns to the Paris house, and Bo is glad to see she is back. The show ends with Gina hugging Bo.

9/23 Gina and Kurt return to the castle because Gina has changed her mind, she doesn't think this plan will work. Gina tells Kurt that the idea of going out into the real world is incomprehensible for her. Kurt tells her that she should go to this party because she has to break the hold this place has on her. He says he doesn't want to pressure her, but tonight may be the last chance she has to see her daughter.

Kurt persuades Gina to go to the ball, and they drive out to the castle. Gina tells Kurt that she doesn't know if she can remember how to act in society. Kurt tells her that it will all come back to her. Still, Gina doesn't know if she can be the woman she once was, she doesn't know if she will have the courage to step into the ballroom. Gina tells Kurt that it will be so hard not to reveal herself to Greta and her old friends, especially when they all believe she is dead. However, Stefano will be the one who wished she was dead after tonight!

Gina hopes she can pull this off and asks Kurt if he thinks she can do it? Kurt tells her to stay calm, he will be with her. Gina says she can't handle this, but Kurt says she has no choice. He reminds her that if she reveals herself, Stefano will put her away for good. He tells her that in order to reclaim the woman she once was she has to call up the spirit of that woman and find her confidence. Gina says he is right, she can do this! They arrive at the estate and Kurt tells Gina that this is it.

In the foyer of the castle is a large portrait of Gina. Stefano sees it and says Gina certainly was glamorous. Bart shows up disguised as a waiter. Stefano assumes everything is ready for the heist.

Stefano calls Gina, and afterwards Bart tells Stefano that he hid the forgery of Spring Morning where Gina can easily get to it. Stefano says excellent, and after he has the painting, Bo and Gina will be out of his life at last.

Kurt and the real Gina show up for the party, Gina is still worried about whether or not she can pull this off.

At the Paris house, Gina/Hope tells Bo that everything went well with DiMera. Doug and Julie hug Gina, they are thrilled she is back and safe. Julie asks if she is all right? Gina says of course she is, why wouldn't she be? Gina begins to hear Stefano's voice in her head telling her over in over that she will have her freedom.

Bo assures Gina that he will take care of DiMera and protect her, no matter what it takes. Gina goes to her room to get ready, and Doug continues to tell Bo that he doesn't like this plan. Bo says this is the only way to get to DiMera, he has to trust him. The phone rings and Gina answers, Bo is positive it is Stefano.

On the phone, Stefano asks Gina when she is going to arrive, the ball has already started! Gina says she is the guest of honor, it can't really start without her. Gina assures Stefano that she will be there soon and everything will go as plan, he has her word. Stefano tells her if she fails, she will answer to him!

Stefano goes up to Gina's room to help her get ready. She is wearing a white ball gown with her hair up and a tiara on her head. Gina tells Bo how afraid she is, but Bo says everything will be fine. He tells her to remember to trust him and his love for her, if she does then everything will be okay. Bo assures her that he will protect her tonight and every night, and then hugs her.

Later, Bo introduces Princess Gina Von Amburg to Doug and Julie. Doug says that he's never seen his girl look so much like a princess! Julie says that she will be the belle of the ball tonight!

9/24 At the Paris house, Doug and Julie leave to get the car so Bo and Hope/Gina can talk. Bo tells his Fancy Face that he knows she is scared, but he, Doug, and Julie will be there for her. Gina asks him why she is doing this for her after all she has done to him? Bo says she is not responsible for what she has done, and he is doing it because he loves her, he is doing it for their family, and he is doing it for their future. He tells her that after tonight, DiMera will be behind bars forever.

Bo tells Gina that he has something for her, it is the diamond bracelet he bought Hope in Santa Rosa. Alice sent it to her, along with the music box. Gina says she will wear it for luck, so Bo puts it on her wrist. Julie returns and tells Bo the car is ready. Bo tells Gina that he loves her, and she says she knows.

Gina asks for a moment alone before they leave, so Bo goes to wait for her in the car. Gina says that Brady really is something, but he has no idea what he is up against with Stefano. She says that everyone is expecting Princess Gina tonight, so Princess Gina is who they shall get!

Stefano hopes Greta learns something about her mother here tonight, but Greta says she already has. Stefano asks what she has learned? Eric says they have learned that Gina is making an appearance here tonight. Stefano knows nothing about that, but says that it must be Hope's obsession with becoming the Princess. Greta says that is because he transformed her into Gina, but Stefano says she put the idea in Hope's head at Maison Blanche. Stefano says he is here to have a good time and excuses himself.

Kurt and the real Gina show up at the ball and Gina remembers the last night she attended a party here, it was the night she was supposed to steal the last Rennet. Gina tells Kurt that she doesn't know if she can do this. Gina sees the picture of herself and remembers when it was done. A woman tells them that Gina is so special, and she doesn't recognize Gina in her disguise.

Gina looks around at all the people who think she is dead. She sees so many of her old friends, and points them out to Kurt. Gina asks Kurt to bring her a glass of champagne at once, so he reluctantly leaves her to get one. Gina runs into the Duchess, literally, and tells her that she is so sorry and hopes she didn't spill her drink. The Duchess says no harm was done, and then asks Gina if they have met? Gina says of course they have, it is I!

Kurt goes over and interrupts the real Gina and the Duchess before Gina can give herself away. Eric and Greta walk over and Kurt introduces them to his mother. Gina holds her hand out to Eric, who kisses it. Gina tells Greta that she looks so much like her mother. Greta asks "You knew my mother?" Gina says of course, she knows all about Princess Gina's life. Greta asks her how? Kurt says his mother is fascinated with Gina's life, she read a lot of books about her.

Gina wants to talk with Greta some more, buy Nathan, an old friend of Greta's, butts in. Nathan says he had a terrible crush on her and has been pinning away for her all these years. Eric jokes around that he must be the only one here with born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Eric and Nathan dance, and Gina says that is the kind of man her daughter should be with. Gina tells Kurt to bring her another glass of champagne because hers has lost its effervescence.

Bo, "Hope," Doug, and Julie drive to the party. Julie is very nervous and says that the Duke and Duchess have one of the most fabulous art collections in Europe. She asks "Hope" if she has seen it? Gina says she has, but it was many years ago. They arrive at the ball and Doug and Julie go in first so Gina can make her grand entrance. Bo tells her that if she has any doubts of what to do tonight all she has to do is look at the bracelet because it will remind her how much he loves her. Bo goes inside and meets with Doug, Julie, and Eric.

Bo decides to go look for Stefano, and Doug and Julie notices how Eric is watching Greta and Nathan. They both tell him that he should cut in on Nathan and Greta. Later, Doug and Julie tells Greta how happy they are to finally meet her. The console her about her mother's death, and Greta thanks them. Greta tells them both that she is going to help Bo and Hope tonight, she owes Bo so much.

Bo finds DiMera in the gallery looking at Spring Morning. Bo shows up right behind DiMera as he says soon he will have Spring Morning and will no longer have a need for Gina. Bo says "nice painting" and Stefano says it is breathtaking. Stefano is glad to see he is feeling better and asks where the lovely Hope is?

Bo tells him not to worry, she will be here. Stefano asks him why he lets Hope go around pretending to Gina? Bo says he knows damn well she is not pretending. Stefano says if he wants to end this he should expose her as a fraud to everyone at the ball. Bo asks why he doesn't do the same? Stefano says it is no concern to him, and tells him to enjoy the party.

Bo returns to the party and talks with everyone. Greta asks Bo if he is sure Greta will do her job? Bo is certain she will. Out in the car, Gina sees faces and hears voices in the rearview mirror. She sees herself telling her that she is the real Princess Gina, Bo telling her that after tonight they will be rid of DiMera, and DiMera telling her she will have her freedom. GIna yells at them to stop it and to get a hold of herself.

Back inside, the real Gina finds Stefano in the gallery looking at Spring Morning. She remembers failing Stefano years ago. She told him she froze when she tried to steal the painting, she hadn't been the same since she lost John. An angry Stefano told Gina that she was useless to him and had to find another way to get the painting. Gina approaches Stefano and says "Once you fall in love with a painting, you never forget it do you?" Stefano turns around and looks at her.

Hope/Gina makes her way to the castle and is mobbed by reporters. Before entering the ball, she stops to have a cigarette.

9/27 In Paris at the ball, Greta tells Eric that she doesn't know how she will pretend that Hope is her mother. Eric tells her that she will know exactly what to do when Hope arrives.

Bo, Doug, and Julie all await Hope's entrance. Kurt is busy looking for the real Gina, but can't find her anywhere. Suddenly, the Duke introduces Princess Gina Von Amberg, and in walks Hope/Gina. She is wearing a white gown underneath a black silk cloak, and a tiara on her head. Kurt sees Gina and exclaims "It can't be!" Gina tells everyone that Princess Gina is back and here to stay.

Everyone applauds, and Greta tells Eric that she looks so much like her mother. She tells Eric that she knows her mother is dead, but seeing Hope walk in as her mother brought so many memories. She just hopes Bo's plan works. Doug and Julie can't believe what they are seeing, this is not their little Hope.

Bo approaches Gina and tells her all these people love her because she is beautiful and glamorous, but he knows all one million reasons to love her. He promises her that they will bring DiMera down tonight and be together for the rest of their lives.

Suddenly Nathan approaches Gina and says she is not Princess GIna! Everyone gasps and begins to gossip amongst themselves. He tells her that she hasn't changed since the last time he saw her, which was when he was eleven! She says he was eleven, and madly in love with her Greta. Gina says she could never forget the boy who picked all her roses to give to Greta.

Greta approaches her "mother" and the two hug. Gina says she has missed her terribly. Nathan excuses himself to get them all some champagne. Greta is upset and tells Gina that she never expected to see her mother again. Gina puts her hand up to Greta's cheek and assures her that she is not going anywhere.

The Duchess steals Gina away to say hello to her old friends, and Greta is almost at the point of tears. She doesn't understand how Bo can say so strong watching Hope pretend to be her mother.

Bo says it has to play out this way, otherwise their plan won't work. Greta fears Hope may get carried away playing Gina, but Bo is positive that Hope is back and on their side. Doug and Julie great the Highness, and Doug tells Gina that her parents must be very proud of her. Gina just thanks them.

Bo talks with Doug and Julie, who are deeply troubled. Julie fears that Hope may never come back to them after this party. Bo tells them that Hope is strong and will not fail, he will not give up on her. The Duke and Duchess talk with Gina and tell her that she must look at the Rennet in their gallery. Gina says she would love to see it, so they escort her to the gallery. As they leave, Gina nods her head to Bo as she passes him.

In the art gallery, the real Gina remembers Stefano's anger when she failed stealing the Rennet for him years ago. She approaches Stefano from behind and asks "Once you fall in love with a painting, you never forget it, do you?" Stefano turns around to see a mysterious woman draped in black. He looks at her, shakes his head, and says it can't be. He tells her that there is something familiar about her.

Gina introduces herself as Countess Elsa of Hapsburg. Stefano doesn't recall meeting her and asks to be excused, but Gina won't let him leave. She says that she knows him, Stefano DiMera a.k.a Rudolpho Meradi. She knows he is an avid art collector and says he seems to have an eye for Spring Morning. Gina tells him that all the other Rennets have been stolen, but this is the most beautiful Rennet. Stefano tells her that she knows a lot about art, and Gina says she is an artist but her works were never appreciated the way they should have been.

Stefano says he is sorry, and Gina tells him that his apology is not accepted! She tells him that life is cruel sometimes, but we live to right the wrongs of their pasts. She looks at Spring Morning and wonders who would have the gall to steal such a masterpiece. Stefano claims he couldn't imagine, but Gina tells him that he is too modest because he knows a great deal about the art of stealing art! Stefano says what he knows about stolen art he has read in the newspaper.

Stefano asks if there is a point to all of this? Gina says very well, and says that this party is in honor of Princess Gina, and he and her were very close. She says that she remembers the last party the two of them attended here and says she heard shortly afterwards that Gina fell into a deep depression.

Stefano claims he lost touch with Gina after the party and tries to walk away from her. However, Gina stops him by telling him that Gina is now dead. Stefano says this party is for Gina, how can she be dead? Kurt shows up and finds his mother before she can expose her true identity to Stefano.

Stefano leaves and Gina tells Kurt that he has horrible timing! Gina tells Kurt, who didn't know, that the man she was talking to was Stefano. Kurt tries to tell Gina about the imposter, but Gina won't let him get a word in. She tells him that she plans to crush Stefano into the ground tonight! Kurt tells Gina that he has something to tell her, and perhaps they should leave. Suddenly, Gina hears everyone calling her name.

Stefano intercepts Gina/Hope, and the Duke and Duchess on the way to the gallery and steals Gina away from them for a second. He is not happy that she was late, but Gina says she had to make a grand entrance. She tells him not to worry, she knows exactly what she has to do here. Stefano sees Bo watching them, but Gina says nothing will go wrong. Stefano tells her not to make the mistakes of the past, the real Gina was not able to redeem herself after failing him.

He then tells her about the unusual conversation he had with a woman in the gallery who is under the impression that the Gina is dead. Gina simply says that the reports of her death are greatly exaggerated and she hopes he set her straight! Stefano wonders how she got that idea when he only told Greta that Gina had died. Gina says Greta and her friends are being discreet about the whole matter, and says that Greta looks absolutely magnificent tonight.

Stefano tells her to pay attention, she has one mission and one mission alone, to steal the Rennet. Bo approaches them and asks DiMera if he is enjoying Gina's company. Stefano tells Bo that he was telling Hope how lovely she looks, but doesn't know why everyone thinks she is still Gina.

"Hope" says he was the one that turned her into Gina, and she will find out what she did for him! Stefano tells her to do as she wishes, and tells her to have a productive night. Stefano leaves and Bo tells Gina that it is hard to believe he shares an agenda with Stefano, both their plans hinge on nobody finding out that the real Gina is dead. Gina tells him that nobody here doubts that she is Gina, but Bo says that he does. Gina says she is Gina.

The Duke and Duchess approach Bo and Gina to borrow Gina for a moment. Doug and Julie see the upset look on Bo's face. They ask what is wrong? Bo says that "Hope" is just very convincing tonight.

Stefano returns to the gallery to admire the Rennet, and Bart serves him some champagne. Stefano tells Bart that he is sure Gina will do his bidding tonight. Bo shows up in the gallery door right as Stefano says now that everything is ready for Gina to make the painting switch, it is time to take care of Bo.

Out on the dance floor, everyone begins to clap and chant "Princess Gina! Princess Gina!" Gina/Hope is blindfolded, and everyone has formed a circle around her. The real Gina shows up to see why everyone is calling her name. Through Gina's black veil she vaguely sees the outline of Hope/Gina.

Gina/Hope plays some form of blind mans bluff, but the real Gina looses track of Hope/Gina. Kurt tells Gina that this party is not a memorial to her, it is a celebration of her eternity. He says the woman over there claims she is Princess Gina! Gina finally gets a good look at her impostor dancing with another man.

9/28 Hope/Gina dances with an admirer as everyone watches. Another admirer dances with Hope/Gina as everyone watches and applauds. The real Gina can't believe what she is seeing, this woman is a fraud! Gina shoves her way through the crowd and taps Hope/Gina on the shoulder.

Hope/Gina ask the real Gina just what she thinks she is doing? Gina says that is the exact question she was about to ask her! Gina asks her what she thinks she's doing? Hope/Gina says she is dancing, and enjoying herself. Gina laughs and says she did not answer her question! Hope/Gina says she is the guest of honor, Princess Gina Von Amberg, and does a little curtsey.

Gina says "In your dreams!" Hope/Gina asks who else she would be? Gina makes a fist and says she does not know yet, but she intends to find out! Gina demands Hope/Gina identify herself at once. Julie and Doug begin to worry, and Doug leaves to find Bo. Hope/Gina tells her that she is obviously not well, and Gina says of course she isn't well under these circumstances. Hope/Gina asks what circumstances, so Gina replies that she would be delighted to inform her. Gina claps her hands twice and tells everyone that she has some very astonishing news for everyone.

Bo shows up as Stefano tells Bart, who is disguised as a waiter, it is time for him to take care of Bo. When Stefano and Bart turn around, they find Bo standing in the doorway. Bart offers Bo some champagne, but Bo refuses, so Bart leaves. Stefano asks Bo if he has been spying on him?

Bo just says that he's noticed he seems to like this painting. Bo asks why the Harrimans' have it guarded so well? Stefano says Rennet was a visionary, and this is that last Rennet that hasn't been stolen. Bo doesn't know much about art, but he says Gina is a real art form and takes his breath away. Stefano claims to be worried about Hope because she is taking this masquerade to the extremes and should stop this search for her past.

Bo asks why he cares, he doesn't know what she is going to find. Stefano says he knows exactly what she will find! Bo asks him if he has a crystal ball allowing him to predict the future? Stefano says it is obvious what will happen, Hope will be exposed as a fraud! Bo asks how that would happen, unless he did a lousy job implanting Gina's memories into Hope at Maison Blanche!

Stefano asks Bo if he believes that nonsense? Bo tells him that Hope is a dead ringer for Gina both inside and out, everyone here believes she is Gina. Bo says if the real Princess Gina was alive and here tonight, they probably couldn't tell which is which. Doug shows up at tells Bo that the woman with the big veil is demanding to know who Princess Gina really is. Bo and Doug rush off, and Stefano laughs and tells Bo to enjoy his evening with Gina because tomorrow they will both be out of his life for good.

Everyone wonders what Kurt's "mother" is doing? Kurt tells her mother to come with him, but Gina says it is time for the truth to come out for the sake of friends and family. Gina looks at Greta, who thinks Gina wants her to come with her. Bo, who has arrived, tells her to stay still. Still, Greta thinks the woman looks familiar. The Duke and Duchess asks her how they can assist her? She can't believe her dear friends have forgotten her completely.

Meanwhile, Stefano tells Bart to find out what he can about this woman. Kurt apologizes the Duke, Duchess, and Princess Gina for his mother's actions. Gina cries "How dare you!" and smacks him with her purse. Kurt tells her to come away now, but Gina refuses to leave until she finds out who that woman is. Hope/Gina says she is Princess Gina Von Amberg, but Gina demands she tell them all the truth.

Bo goes to Hope/Gina's side to make sure she is all right. Hope/Gina says this woman needs a doctor, but Gina says she is quite sane, she faced the devil himself and lived to tell about it. Gina says the devil tried to take her soul, but she was fare to strong. Gina tells them all that this woman is not worth of the honor they have bestowed upon her because she is not who they think she is.

Gina suddenly faints, and everyone looks at her. Bo thinks she can't breath with the veil on and goes to take it off, but Kurt insists it is left in place. Kurt claims her mother just had a bad reaction to her medication. Bo says she has a pulse, and Stefano suggest they take her to the foyer where she can rest. Bo says that she could need a doctor.

Stefano wonders where he could have meet this woman, and flashback to yelling at Gina after she failed to steal Spring Morning. Bo picks her up and carries her to the foyer and puts her down on a sofa. Gina comes to, and Kurt says his stepmother needs privacy.

Bo leaves to call a doctor, and Kurt scolds GIna. Gina says Stefano wouldn't know who she was, her beauty has dissipated, unlike the woman claiming to be her. Bart spies on them, but Kurt quickly tells him to leave. Gina asks if he intends to keep her a prisoner in the foyer? Kurt says he is afraid what Stefano will do if he finds out who she is.

Gina says to hell with Stefano, he has taken 14 years away from her and the people she loved! Kurt says Stefano is dangerous, and leaves to get the car before Stefano sees her again. Gina asks herself if it is so wrong to want the truth known? Greta shows up and asks if she may speak with her? Gina says yes, and asks Greta to sit next to her. Greta asks her why she is so certain this woman who claims she is Gina isn't her mother?

Stefano talks with Bart, who fills him in on what he has found out about this "Elsa." Burt tells him that she is the stepmother of Kurt Schwengle, the caretaker of Chateau De Revees. Stefano decides he will have to introduce himself to this Kurt.

Back in the ballroom, the Duchess apologizes to Hope/Gina for the way that woman has ruined her party. Hope/Gina says as long as she has a man at her side she is happy. The Duke and Duchess leave to talk with their other guests, and Bo dances with Hope/Gina. She asks Bo who that woman was? Bo says it is the mother of the keeper of the Chateau de Revees. Hope/Gina says "A yes, my country estate," and Bo quickly corrects her and says it is Gina's estate. Hope/Gina tells him to try being two people at once. Bo tells her she is doing fine and she only has to keep it up for a few more hours. Bo assures her that she will be home free after tonight. Bo knows she is afraid she will end up like the real Gina, but he won't let that happen.

Hope/Gina asks how he is so sure he will get Stefano tonight? Bo knows he will because Stefano is too focused on getting that painting, and not paying attention to anything else. Bo chuckles and says he can't wait to see the look on Stefano's face when he realizes he has lost not only the painting, but his princess. Hope/Gina sees the portrait of herself and begins to have doubts.

9/29 Bo and Hope/Gina are still dancing, but Hope/Gina sees the portrait of herself and stops. Gina/Hope downs a glass of champagne, and Bo tells her that Gina's life is not hers, and if she does give it up she might end up like the real Gina. Bo thinks Stefano had, but Gina/Hope cuts him off and tells him that Gina died of natural causes, the autopsy proved that.

Bo tells her that Stefano is a master at covering his tracks, and when he's finished with her she will just disappear. Hope/Gina asks why he is doing this to her now? Bo says she has an important decision ahead of her, and if she sides with DiMera she will end up like the real Gina.

However, if she sides with him then he will arrest DiMera and make sure she never has to fear him again. Bo looks into her eyes and says he sees his Fancyface looking into his eyes, and if she trusts him, he will get her out of this mess. He promises her that he will not let DiMera get between them again. Gina/Hope says even from prison Stefano can get revenge on them, but Bo promises to protect her. Gina excuses herself, and Doug and Julie approach Bo.

They fear she is going to bail on them, but Bo says he just needs to reassure her some more. Julie asks Bo to let her try, and she runs after Hope/Gina. Doug tells Bo that he wants Hope out of here and to hell with his plan. Bo tells Doug to calm down, he will protect Hope. Doug still thinks something might go wrong, and what a dangerous position he is putting Hope in. Bo knows how dangerous this is, but he has to stay calm and focused in order to protect Hope in case something goes wrong.

Gina/Hope goes into a powder room and is hearing Bo and Stefano's voices inside her head. Julie puts her hand on her shoulder, which startles her. Julie asks if there is anything she can do to help? She says she just needs some time, but Julie says that is hardly likely with Bo. Julie tells her that Bo loves her with all her heart, the way she loves him.

When Julie tries to tell her a story, Gina/Hope says now is not the time for a trip down memory lane. Julie tells her to let the Gina memories go, her only future is as Hope. Hope/Gina says she really must go, and as she goes to leave, Julie yells out "Oh God!” She tells Hope/Gina that she wishes she could just exorcise the Gina persona out of her. She tells Hope that she will not let her go without a fight.

Gina/Hope looks at Julie, who tells her that they love her and respect her, and that Stefano is not all powerful. She tells her that Bo will protect her. Julie tells Hope/Gina that their mother showed so much courage when she gave birth to her, and the love of their family sustained her. Julie says she, Doug, and Bo are here for her now. Julie hugs Gina/Hope, who is obviously touched. A woman comes in and sees them hugging, so Gina/Hope tells her how lovely it is to see her again.

They rejoin the party, but before entering the ballroom Julie whispers to "Hope" to come back to them, she knows she has the power. Julie runs off, and Hope/Gina is left in tears. Julie returns to Doug, and Bo goes to check on Gina/Hope. Gina/Hope is talking with Bart, who is telling her it is almost time for her to do her thing. Bart leaves, and Bo asks Gina/Hope if the waiter was hassling her?

Gina/Hope says that was no waiter, so Bo asks who he is? Gina/Hope covers and says he was once a wealthy man who has fallen on bad times. Bo asks her if it is time yet? Gina/Hope says not yet, so Bo asks her to dance. Gina/Hope says she would like that, so the two take to the dance floor. As they dance, Bo tells his Fancyface that he loves her. Bart sees the expression on Gina/Hope's face and doesn't look very pleased.

Greta asks Gina, who she thinks is Kurt's mother, why she doesn't believe the woman in the other room is Princess Gina? Gina doesn't understand why Greta is even asking her such questions. Gina tells her that she is Gina's daughter and knows her better than anyone. She apologizes if she is wrong by questioning her. Greta remembers Eric telling her that they have to make Bo's plan work, so Greta says of course that woman is her mother. Gina asks her when the last time she saw her mother was?

Greta admits that it has been years. Gina asks why so long? Greta tells Gina that she was in a terrible accident and was badly burned, it took her years to recover. Gina tells her "darling" how sorry she is and begins to weep. Greta asks why she called her "my darling," and why she is responding like this? Gina apologizes and says the accident saddens her. Gina asks how it happened? Greta tells her about the explosion, but says she is fine now.

Gina tells her that she truly is her mother's daughter. Greta says people keep telling her that, but she thinks they are flattering her. She tells Gina that her mother was so full of like and it is hard to think that she's . . . . Gina asks her what she was going to say? Greta says that she was going to say here tonight, she thought she'd never see her again. Gina asks why she would think that? Greta says because of her accident, she was ashamed how she looked so she hid in the Bayou in Louisiana, and her mother went back to Europe.

Greta questions "Elsa" about her mother, and if she remembers her when she was little? Gina says she remembers her very well, and asks Greta if she remembers her? Greta says there is something familiar about her, and if she could see her eyes she would remember her. Gina damns Stefano for doing this to her daughter, and then tells Greta that she may look into her eyes. Greta begins to lift Gina's veil, but Stefano shows up and asks what she is doing? Greta stops and says she was just trying to help the countess.

Stefano asks the countess where her son is? Gina says she does not know, she has just been getting to know Greta. Stefano asks the countess to please excuse them, he wants to show Greta the gardens. Gina reluctantly says yes of course, but hugs Greta before she leaves. Out in the gardens, Stefano asks Greta how she could be so careless, she almost gave Hope away! Greta tells him that he wouldn't want to everyone to find out that he turned Hope into Gina, but Stefano says he had nothing to do with that.

Greta says that is not what Bo believes, Bo believes he turned her into Gina on purpose! As they argue, Gina spies on them. Gina lifts her veil to get a better look, and Greta and Stefano hear her rustling in the bushes. Stefano checks things out, but finds nothing. He then tells Greta that he can't believe she believes Bo instead of him, the one who took care of her and never lied to her. Greta says he has done nothing but lie to him. Gina listens closely as Greta accuses Stefano of making Hope Williams into his latest pawn, his Gina pawn.

Stefano becomes fed up and says he did nothing to Hope. Greta tells Stefano that he possessed her with Gina's spirit, but Stefano says she was the one who put the idea into Hope's head at Maison Blanche. Gina hears Stefano tells Greta that her comment that Hope looked like her mother is what possessed her to come to Europe and live as Princess Gina. Gina remembers back to Maison Blanche when Stefano told her that Rolf was goin

g to cure her depression, and later she heard Stefano telling Rolf to get Hope ready for the procedure. Greta asks Stefano if Hope wasn't his creation, why did he tell people Princess Gina died? Stefano says what Hope does is none of his concern, who is he to ruin her fun? Greta refuses to be his lies and says she knows he turned Hope into her mother to carry out her mother's work, whatever it was, and promises Stefano that she will not stop until she find out what he really did to her mother.

In the bushes, Kurt finds Gina. She tells Kurt that she knows who the woman who stole her life is.
