Bo & Hope #51 June 21 - October 18, 2002: 8 hour original edit
DVD #51A 6/21 Jennifer saw Bo and Hope at the pub. Colin also arrived and told the couple that they'd made a huge mistake in returning home so soon. That irked Bo, who basically told Colin to mind his own business. Colin warned that Stefano was on his way back, but the Bradys said that they were going on with their lives and that they'd survived Stefano many times before. Colin left.
After Jennifer helped Bo and Hope pack up some things, including the bugged jack-in-the-box, Jack arrived. He updated Jennifer on the Stefano story. She told him the Bradys were aware of Stefano's return too. The two made plans to meet at the party and get the scoop on the story.
Everyone began to arrive at the Penthouse Grill for the party and the arrival of the mystery guest. Abe and Bo discussed Colin and his possible link to Stefano. Bo made it clear that he did not trust Colin. Upon Lexie's arrival, the crowd hesitated. Everyone wondered what she was up to and if she was truly expecting her father. Abe confronted her, but Celeste defended her daughter, and they entered the dining room. Lexie was very excited about her father's return.
As Roman arrived with several police officers and announced that there was a fire in the kitchen and they were evacuating the restaurant. Everyone scurried around in order to find their loved ones. Soon it seemed there were only Stefano's enemies and Lexie left in the room. A man stepped off the elevator and entered the dining room. Much to everyone's shock and horror, it was Tony DiMera.
6/24 Upon entering the restaurant, Tony exclaims that the Phoenix has risen! John attacks Tony. Roman and Abe pull him off. A somewhat flustered Tony says his only intention was to have dinner with Lexie and is taken aback by seeing so many faces from his past gathered there. Bo accuses Tony of being there to try to kidnap Zack which totally confuses Tony. He has no idea that Bo and Hope had another child! Abe and Roman want to take Tony to the police station for questioning, but John insists on hearing his story then and there.
Tony rehashes his history with John and how John was having an affair with Tony's wife Kristen. An angry John brings up the diary Tony left behind after his "death" that framed John for his murder. Tony reveals that it was actually Andre (gasp!) who died and was also the one who framed John. Everyone is a little skeptical since Tony was supposed to have personally watched Andre die in quicksand several years before any of this took place.
Tony explains that Stefano swooped in and rescued Andre at the last second. And as luck would have it Andre had the same blood disease as Tony. So Stefano took the liberty of switching a very ill Tony with Andre (without Tony's knowledge) in order to defend the DiMera family honor and get revenge on John. As an added bonus Stefano was able to get rid of Andre, whom he never liked, permanently. Tony claims to have had no contact or involvement with his father in several years. Tony says that in order to put the matter to rest once and for all the police should send the diary for handwriting analysis and exhume the body.
On the way out, Tony makes eye contact with Colin. this does not go unnoticed by Bo. Bo confronts Colin who admits nothing (but he also doesn't deny anything) to his cousin.
John asks whether Stefano is also planning on returning to Salem. Tony admits he does know of his father's whereabouts. After apologizing to Lexie for having to give the bad news under such circumstances, Tony announces that Stefano is dead!!!
6/25 Jack corners Bo and Bo tells him (off the record) that he's going to keep an eye on Tony.
As Roman sends for proof of the death certificate's authenticity, Tony waits in Abe's office. Cameron Reese appears having been sent by Lexie, who walks in too. Tony doesn't shake hands with Cameron and says he doesn't need a lawyer. John arrives, demanding to see Tony and warns Tony if they don't hold him there, he's all his. John and Lexie exchange barbs about her ambulance chasing lawyer and her change in personality.
John is relieved that Pat, the DA, arrives. Now in Abe's office, Roman, Pat, and Abe talk to Tony. Abe offers Pat his chair as Tony tells them he returned to Salem to help make amends for what his father did to everyone there. Later, Pat and Abe tell John there are no reasons to indict Tony and they have to let him go. John calmly tells Tony he knows he's guilty and will do whatever it takes to prove it. Lexie tells Abe she's taking her brother home (watch out Bart!).
Roman announces they're digging up Andre's grave. John knows it will be empty. Marlena, Sami and Hope nestle in the background watching. Roman tells everyone the coroner in Monte Carlo confirmed Stefano's death in a car accident as reactions on faces around the room are shown..some believing, some not.
6/27 John shows up at the police station with Stefano's ashes. John wants to sent the ashes to Shane Donovan at the ISA for DNA testing to find out if it is really Stefano. Abe gives his approval and Lexie shows up demanding that they give her back the ashes. Abe promises that the ashes with we treated with respect and returned as soon as their testing is complete. Abe and Lexie talk alone about Zack and how much they miss their family. Then Lexie tells Abe if he really loves her, he'll give the ashes back now, but he doesn't give them back.
Later, Abe, John, Bo and Roman talk about the exhumation of the body in Arameid to determine if it is really the body of Tony or his cousin Andre. John leaves the station with Stefano's ashes and Abe wants to know what he is planning. John tells him he would not want to know. Bo gets the official typed statement from the night of Tony's return and heads off to the DiMera mansion for Tony's signature on it.
Later, at the mansion, Tony answers the door and their stands Colin staring at him. Lexie comes out to see who is at the door and asks Colin what he is doing there and right after that Bo shows up outside and wants to know what Colin is doing there also.
6/28 Bo catches Colin arriving at the DiMera mansion. Colin covers his tracks by saying he's there to research Tony's rare blood disorder. (While in Africa Colin treated patients with the same disorder, but Tony is the only known survivor). Bo isn't buying any of this. Tony thanks Colin for his interest but refuses the research. Moments later Tony dramatically collapses to the floor. Lexie and Colin struggle to get him to the hospital. Bo very reluctantly helps. Bo gets into Lexie's face over Tony, telling her that her brother is faking all of this. Brandon overhears and steps in to defend Lexie.
7/1 Roman and Bo fear that John is going to take the law into his own hands when it comes to dealing with Tony DiMera. They try to figure out why Tony has returned to Salem. Roman decides to have the DiMera mansion watched 24/7.
John searches the mansion. He comes across a desk that has a false bottomed drawer in it. John arrives back at the PD and announces that he knows what Tony is up to. He also tells everyone that Colin went back to the mansion. Marlena defends Colin to the men. John shows everyone the key he took from the desk. As they discuss what the key could be for Marlena is berated for being willing to give Tony the benefit of the doubt. John is hoping that Tony will come after him. Roman warns John not to go after Tony alone.
They are interrupted when Shane calls. The ISA was unable to determine that the remains were indeed that of Stefano. However the exhumation of the body in the grave proved to be that of Andre DiMera. So it would seem that everything Tony has said to the police is true. They all decide to take a break from the case and plan on meeting later at the BBQ.
Tony is positive that someone was just in the house. He searches the desk, sees that the key is missing and freaks out! He's very afraid that his plans will all be ruined.
Everyone begins to arrive for the Brady/Horton 4th of July BBQ. Jack wants to ask around for info on Tony, but Jennifer tells him to relax and enjoy the party. They agree that between Tony's return and the coming meteor shower, that anything can happen!
Roman tells John to keep him in the loop in regards to any info he may find on Tony's reasons for returning to town. He's willing to give John some latitude, but won't let him get away with too much. John agrees, but doesn't really intend to honor the request. The knuckle cracking mystery man looks in on the gathering. Turns out Tony is hearing the discussions at the BBQ via the bugged Jack in the Box!
7/2 Hope asks Bo where Zack is. Bo assures her Zack's upstairs with Grandma, but goes in to bring them out back so Hope won't worry. Inside Caroline cranks that scary jack in the box as Bo joins them. Zack calls Bo daddy. Bart and Tony sit and listen to the Brady chit chat. They overhear John and Roman talking about the key to the DiMera mansion, which confirms to Tony that John did take it. He turns off his Jack speaker.
Sami hugs Abe when he arrives and Bo and Roman join them, noting his sullen mood. He tells them about seeing Lexi. Hope and Maggie bring Zack over to hug his godfather. Colin arrives at the front door and tells Bo he brought a guest, the guy the cops have tailing him. Shawn goes after Bo so he won't miss the fireworks. He overhears Colin and can't believe Bo put a tail on Colin as Abe joins them. Colin threatens to call his lawyer and Abe takes Bo in the kitchen and privately tells him he's calling the tail off.
Maggie, carrying Zack, and Hope come inside asking what everyone is doing inside. A knock on the door and Bo finds two cops with Tony and Lexie. Maggie hands Zack to Hope without being told to as Hope hugs her son. Bo tells them to take Zack upstairs as Lexie stares at them. John asks what they're doing there and Lexie wants to see Zack, but Bo holds her back.
Tony rushes over and slams the jack in the box to the floor, smashing it to pieces. Tony explains about just learning his father had planted the transmitter in it and says that's why he and Lexie came, to show he and Lexie want to change the DiMera ways. He wants people in Salem to live in peace, just like what he and his sister want to do. John's not buying it. Lexie cries in Brandon's arms about not getting to hold her baby and Abe asks the cops to take his wife out of there. Brandon leaves with her.
Abe tells Sami not to tell anyone about what happened. They're not charging Tony with anything, just going to question him. Tony tells John he'd like to speak to John privately, but John tells him he knows Tony's just like his father. Hope and Maggie come downstairs (without Zack!) and asks if they're gone.
Outside Alice is there watching fireworks with Mickey. Jack, Jenn and Abby are snuggled together watching too as Colin watches from nearby. Mickey goes to take Alice home as she hugs Hope. The meteor shower starts as everyone oohs and ahhs. The meteors are coming closer to Salem and the sky is glowing red.
7/3 In the Brady back yard, everyone is looking up at the sky, and getting scared expressions on their faces as the meteor shower is approaching closer and closer. The sky is lit up brightly, but a fireball seems headed directly towards everyone as they scatter and run into the house. Shawn & Belle trip over the telescope, falling to the ground and are a bit dazed. Marlena comes running out, followed by Colin, who checks them out. Roman gets word, that one meteorite hit Salem near Airport Rd. and there is a one car accident there.
Bo promises Hope a picnic on the Fancy Face for just the two of them, as Caroline brings Zack in, who is wide awake. He calls Hope “Mommy”, which delights her. Later, Bo & Hope, in bed, talk of how happy she was that Zack has made this transition at last and called her "Mommy".
On Airport Road, the camera zooms in on a car that has crashed, steam coming from under the hood, and the driver slumped over the steering wheel, while an address book is opened to the name of Bo Brady (519 Scuttlehole Road, Salem 06648. Telephone number is: 555-4199). Later, workers are trying to cut the door open with acetylene torches, as police cordon off the area. Finally, the car door is opened, and Colin rushes up and pulls the driver from the steering wheel. The victim's head turns, moaning a bit, and is revealed to be Billie Reed!
In the woods, near Airport Road, Belle & Shawn come out to a clearing, suddenly the sky lights up, they look skyward, hear a crash and fall to the ground. They are clutching each other, as the camera backs up, and we see what looks like a very small version of the Close Encounters space ship with blinking lights. As Belle & Shawn watch, it opens up somewhat like an oyster shell, revealing two persons, curled up in fetal positions, back to back, with each person's head at the other's feet.
7/8 At the Brady home, Bo gets a call to help out at the site of the meteor crater, and investigate the accident. He is told about all the people at the hospital now. Hope is worried, but Bo assures her all is okay.
He shows up at the hospital wanting to speak with "Jane Doe" about her accident. Colin leads Bo to where she is but they find the bed empty! Needless to say, Bo is suspicious of Colin's involvement in the disappearance. Jennifer overhears and steps in to defend Colin. Hope later gets a phone call from Shawn, but he has hung up before she answers, and tho she tries many times to call him back, there is no answer. When Bo returns, she tells him, and he asks if she called Belle? Hope says she doesn't answer either. Bo assures her that Shawn is just with his girlfriend, and they are fine, nothing to worry about.
7/9 Abe and Roman call Bo and ask him to come to Lookout Point. John and Bo arrive and find the area cordoned off with a HAZMAT team already at work. The two guess that Shawn and Belle saw a meteor land and nothing else. Meanwhile, the mystery man continues to snoop outside Bo and Hope's place.
7/10 Lexie's day of reckoning comes as she appears in court for her sentence hearing. Hope, Bo, John, Marlena, Abe, Celeste, and Brandon all attend the hearing. Following the start of the proceedings, Tony DiMera stands before the judge and gives a compassionate speech on his sister's behalf, describing Lexie as a servant of the community and stressing that she only broke the law and behaved irrationally as a result of the grief and shock she felt from losing her son.
Hope then stands before the judge and tells him about the hell she says her former "best friend" put her through, telling him that Lexie's betrayal and deceit was so much she can barely look at her. She then ends by simply asking the Judge do what is in Zack's best interest.
Lexie then gives an emotional testimony, stressing that her past actions were only done out of love for her family, and ends by saying she has accepted losing Isaac, or Zack. She tells the judge she only wants to move on with life and asks that she be judged on her own merit, and not on her DiMera name. The prosecution and defense rest their case. Recess is called.
The judge returns with the highly anticipated verdict. Lexie gets off the hook with a two year probation sentence. She is also ordered to do 3,000 hours of community service, a year of psychiatric counseling, and to stay away from Zack until Hope and Bo deem her safe. An ecstatic Lexie leaves the courtroom with her mother, half-brother, and Brandon. Meanwhile, Hope, Bo and John, all extremely upset. Bo vows Lexie will never come near Hope or Zack again. Lexie then vows to herself that everyone will pay.
7/12 Jack shows Bo a file on Colin. Bo says that Colin is family and that he won't sell him out, nor will he jeopardize police business so that Jack can sell a few papers. Jack feels Bo is making a mistake. He tells Bo that Colin is working for Tony and wants help in proving it. Bo agrees to help but wants it kept between the two of them. After Jack heads back to the Spectator, Hope shows up to spend time with Bo. We see that a blonde is watching them. Turns out that it is Billie in disguise.
7/16 At the pub, Bo calls home and asks Hope if she wants Ma's lasagna or meatloaf. She has 5 seconds to make up her mind as he counts down. He agrees with her choice as he tells her he loves her. Billie (in her blonde wig) is stalking the outside of the pub watching in. Philip recognizes Billie and he figures out she's looking at Bo and promises not to tell anyone she's in town. Bo asks Philip who he was talking to when he returns. Philip explains his flushed, distracted appearance is due to talking to someone from school asking about Chloe while he was outside. Bo accepts that.
Colin joins Bo and Pop at the counter and Colin gives him a belated Christening gift (a silver cup). He had the engraving on the cup changed to Zack's name. Bo scoots the teens out to hang up the posters that were painted. Jack tells Bo how Jen has taken over his investigation and Bo's not happy about that. He knows he can't talk her out of it as you can't change a Horton woman's mind. Jack informs Bo of Jennifer's desire to work with them to get information on Colin.
As Bo leaves the pub he hears a noise (Billie) and tries to catch whomever it was, but Pop shouts for him and he stops. At the same time, the alien duo had taken a ˝ bottle of wine from the pub's kitchen. The aliens put the bottle in their bag as she looks at the picture of Belle and Shawn she took as well. Bo chases after them, but he doesn't get a good look at them.
7/17 At the cop shop, Bo tells Roman about the break in at Brady Pub last night, but assures him it was just probably kids. Abe comes in, telling them a new recruit has arrived, trained with the NYPD, but wants to work in the Salem PD. They wonder why, then talk of how new recruits get to choose who they want to work with, and this one chose Roman. They laugh a bit. An officer comes in, saying the new recruit has arrived. Both get smirks on their faces, as they say, bring him in. We see the legs of a uniformed cop walk thru the door, the camera goes up, and the cop salutes, saying, “Officer Billie Reed reporting for duty, sir”. Bo and Roman both look surprised and puzzled.
7/18 Bo and Roman question Billie about why she wants to be a cop. Billie explains that she graduated at the top of her class in New York City and lost lots of good friends September 11th, and now she wants to be the best cop in the world. She tells Roman that she wants to learn from the best. Bo wants to know why she kept becoming a cop a secret. Billie tells Bo that she knew he would move heaven and earth to stop her.
Roman asks Billie if her goal is to be partners with Bo someday, but Billie is offended by their accusation and says she has moved on with her life and they need to stop being so sexist. Bo tells Billie it won't work with their history, but Billie tells Bo that she has zero interest in him. Billie asks them if she can join their force or not. Roman looks at Bo as if the final decision is up to him.
7/19 Choice people around Salem received dinner invitations to the DiMera mansion from Tony.
Bo confronted Billie about their past. He wanted to be sure she is "over him." Although Billie denied having any residual feelings for Bo, he didn't seem convinced. Bo suggested that Hope might have a problem with Billie being around. Billie questioned Hope's trust of Bo and Bo and Hope's relationship. Billie assured Bo that her only motives are to become a good cop. She insisted that Bo has nothing to do with it.
Later, Bo told Roman and Abe if Billie wants to work a beat, he won't stand in her way. Bo, Abe and Roman were discussing reports of the aliens. Bo offered to help Abe by viewing the tapes from the hospital from the night of the baby switch. Bo said he was not looking forward to telling Hope that Billie is back and working in the police department.
Hope receives a special delivery letter with an invitation to the reading of Stefano's will. She wonders why they would be named in Stefano's will. When he arrives home, Bo encouraged Hope to attend the memorial and reading of the will as a means of closure. Hope sensed that Bo was hiding something and pressed him for answers. Bo finally gathered up the courage to tell Hope that Billie is back in town.
7/22 At the Brady home, Bo tells Hope all about Billie's new career choice. Hope refuses to believe that Billie is serious about her new career as a police officer and is not buying a word. She tells Bo that Billie is mimicking Hope, knowing that Hope was a cop, and how close she and Bo got while they were working together. She tells him to "Mark my words", that Billie will soon suggest she and Bo partner up in a detective agency. She complains about having received that invitation to the reading of Stefano's will, and now Billie is back in town to cause problems. She goes out, needing some air. Bo is frustrated, but reads the invitation again, and gets ticked.
Hope enters the police station and flatly welcomes Billie to Salem. They verbally spar back and forth, Billie gets her test scores out to show Hope, who isn't buying any of it. Hope believes Billie only wants the job to work with Bo. Hope smilingly tells Billie, that she and Bo have been thru hell and back, and have no desire to return to any of it. Hope warns her not to waste her time that her and Bo are forever and to more or less stay away from them. Billie assures her she is not after Bo, and gives her "word".
After Hope has left, Billie sneaks into Abe's office, and make a mysterious call. She tells the person, “it's me. Everything is cool. They have bought my career choice. Trust me, things are going even better than I had planned. No, Hope won't be a problem”.
Hope returns home to find Gran sitting on the sofa. Alice explains Bo had to rush out, so called her to stay with Zack. She sees Hope is upset and asks her what is wrong? Hope tells her about Billie's return to town as a cop. Hope finds the empty envelope, and realizes Bo has gone to confront the DiMeras.
At DiMansion, the atmosphere is very strained, indeed. John brings up the invitations to the will reading, and just then Bo bursts in with Hope's. He is surprised to see everyone there, and wants to know what the heck is going on? He confronts John & Marlena. Tony explains that he talked to his father's attorney yesterday, and learned that John & Marlena, Shawn, Sr., Hope and a few others are mentioned in the will and his father left strict instructions that the contents of the will were not to be divulged until the reading. So he knows nothing about it.
Bo blows up, and Lexie turns on him, spouting her usual diatribe about Hope & Bo. Lexie leaves to go upstairs, as Eliana comes in, whispering in Tony's ear. Tony goes out with her, & John discreetly follows. Eliana & Tony go outside, where she points out the delivery of a big box (we do not see it). Tony is glad it finally came, tells her to have them take it around back and store in the secret room. No one must know it has arrived. John is listening at the door, and has heard every word.
He goes back inside, letting Bo know he is on to something they have to check out, and asking Marlena to distract Tony, so he and Bo can leave. Tony returns indoors, wondering where everyone went, and asks Bo to stay to dinner. He refuses, stalks out, and John says he will go talk to him. John and Bo have gone around the back, with John remembering how to get into the secret room. He uses his flashlight to scan the room, coming to rest on a huge box. Some weird music starts to play as the light plays onto a very large picture or carving on the box. It is a Phoenix!
7/23 John and Bo find the mysterious crate and decide to open it. John's holding the little flashlight as Bo tries to pry it open. Lexie and Tony go into the room and turn on the light to find Bo and John there caught in the act of snooping. John tells them he went out to find Bo and talk to him and thought he heard a prowler. They ask what's in the crate? Tony tells them he doesn't know and they won't find out until his father's will is read. They tell Tony they were just curious.
Bo tells it straight out he doesn't trust either Lexie or Tony. Tony tells them he is not his father and uncovers a box of security/spy equipment he had taken out of the house. Bo tells him to prove it and open the damn box then. Tony refuses saying he won't violate his father's last wish.
Bo waits for John outside, asking how he can cozy up to Tony. John explains they both can't alienate the man. He shows Bo the blue key. Later once he is alone, Tony opens the crate as he couldn't wait any longer. He laughs when he sees the contents.
7/24 At the Brady house, Bo comes in dressed in grunge clothes, as he plans on cleaning the garage. He tells Hope they are not going to attend the memorial service, they don't want whatever Stefano left her. Hope wants to call Stef's bluff, tells Bo that Shawn will stay with Zack, and he agrees to change and go.
Bo & Hope arrive, then John & Marlena, followed by Shawn and Caroline. When the guests arrive, Lexie is uncomfortable with the presence of her father's enemies. Lexie wants the attorney to get rid of them, but he reassures her as to their presence. More continue to arrive, Tony asks everyone to take their seats so the service may begin. The urn with Stefano's ashes are on a table beside him. Tony says something about Stefano being immortal, because he left his mark behind. He mentions Stefano being born and raised in Italy, though having lived in several cities in Europe, he always considered Salem to be his home.
As Tony talks, there are innumerable flashbacks among the guests, as they each remember how Stefano affected them at different times of their lives. Bo remembers coming back for Roman on the beach, and him being gone, with Hope running after him, telling him she doesn't want to lose him, too. Marlena remembers John talking to her about how Stefano made him believe he was Roman, and how their love sustained them thru everything.
She also remembers waking up on the island (after being in that 5 year coma?). Hope remembers a conversation with John on his wedding day to Marlena, and John remembers the scene when an upset Bo learned that John was probably the father of JT. Sami remembers talking to Marlena about how Stef took her father, then her mother, and made her believe John was her dad.
Tony asks if anyone has any comments about his father. The silence is deafening. Lexie gets up, and talks about how she was raised, then discovered as an adult who her father was, and that she was a DiMera. She talks about maybe having another baby some day, a boy or maybe a girl. She goes on about having lost her son, and then her father, but how grateful she is that she still has a brother. She breaks down crying.
Again there is silence, when suddenly John stands up. He diplomatically talks about being "recruited" by Stefano when he was a young man, (flashback here to brainwashing scenes, and then John chained to the wall in that dungeon). He mentions a bit of his relationship with Stefano, then says that Stefano is gone. He continues they should not live in the past, but in the future with those he left behind. He believes that goodness and love will always triumph over fear and evil, and that he is willing to stand shoulder to shoulder with anyone who is willing to live by the tenets of goodness, mercy, forgiveness and justice. He is willing to try, and hopes he is not alone. He returns to his seat and there is stunned silence.
Tony begins to clap, Lexie joins in, then Sami, Brandon, and tho the other Salemites look bewildered, they reluctantly join in, too. As they clap, the urn with Stefano’s ashes begins to wobble and slide towards the edge of the table, finally falling off, but Tony jumps up to catch it. He then announces time for some refreshments.
The guests engage in some chit chat. Roman asks his parents if it is just him, or does anyone else here feel like they need to take a shower. Bo makes some comment to Hope that Stefano might just show up fashionably late, one never knows. Tony asks for everyone's attention, saying that he knows those who are mentioned in his father's will are anxious to learn what he left them. His father was a generous man and through them all, his legacy continues and lives on. Camera on the looks passing between the various assembled guests.
7/25 Billie sneaks into Abe's office and gets out Bo's personnel file. She sneaks the folder, stuffed inside a newspaper, out to her desk and reads the contents. Later, Billie is talking on the phone with someone about the real reason she is in Salem, and it's not for Bo!
The people at Stefano's memorial service have to leave before the will is read. Colin shows up in time for the reading of the will per Tony's request as his doctor. Bo doesn't buy it and keeps a close eye on Colin. Stefano's attorney starts reading the will. Stefano says he has something that Celeste misses more than she realizes. Celeste pulls out linked paper dolls with the words "we must reclaim our youth" written on them. She turns around and stares at Hope, thinking of Isaac.
Bo thinks its Stefano's way of saying he was behind the baby switch, but Celeste thinks it's something completely different but she won't know what it is until the time comes. Roman is next receiving a gladiator statue which means they will fight to the death. Grandpa Shawn Brady is told his gift will remind him of a troubled childhood and his family's troubled future. He pulls out a wooden boat, yells that it's a bomb, and throws it.
Bo picks up the boat and says it's not a bomb. John picks up a small wooden baby that fell out of the boat. Shawn looks very upset seeing the baby doll and looks directly at Colin, then runs outside for air. Colin wants to know if the baby doll has some meaning for him, but Shawn tells him to leave it alone.
Next, Hope is warned to keep her eyes open despite the darkness and opens up a scarf with a knot in it. She holds it up and thinks it is a noose. Tony looks at it and tells her it is only a lovely scarf. Later, Hope determines that it is a blindfold. Marlena is told that her days of role playing have not ended. She opens a pillow that is embroidered, in French, the words "a sleeping beauty in the woods", and on the back of the pillow are stars.
Hope figures out that he is referring to the Sleeping Beauty story where she pricks her finger and falls asleep for 100 years. John, is left Stefano's special chess set. (Not shown later John realizes the queen chess piece is missing and that it represents Marlena). Lexie was left a plaque with the DiMera family crest on it. Later, she finds a note from Stefano hidden inside asking her to do everything he tells her and Lexie agrees.
Tony is given a doll house version of the DiMera mansion. He reaches inside the chimney and pulls out a Phoenix feather, the feather catches fire and Tony blows it out as everyone looks shocked. Later, when Tony is alone with the doll house, he reaches inside the front doors and finds the queen chess piece from John's chess set and he sees Marlena's face on it.
7/26 At the Brady house, Hope is smooching all over a smiling Zack. She decides that they will surprise Bo for lunch. She picks up the scarf and remembers the words of warning "keep your eyes open despite the darkness" and wonders what it means. She vows to keep her family safe. From outside, the mystery is doing his thing as he watches through the window. As she cleans up and gets Zack ready, he continues to do his thing. She gets a phone call, which seems to upset her terribly.
Over at the Brady Pub, Bo arrives and sees Colin, wondering just whose side he is on. Jennifer shows up as well, asking Bo about the gifts Stefano left everyone. He tells her to talk to Colin, he seems to know all about them, but warns her to be careful. Jack arrives as he and Bo watch Jen and Colin. Jack assures Bo that Jen can take care of herself and informs him that he is NOT following her, but instead meeting someone for lunch. Yup, in walks Billie Reed.
Colin recognizes Billie as the Jane Doe at the hospital that night). She begs him to keep her secret as Bo is eavesdropping. Colin sees him and returns to his table. Bo joins Billie asking why is it where ever she goes, she takes secrets and trouble along. Hope arrives at the pub and sees Bo and Billie together. She goes over and is polite to Billie as she asks Bo to buy her lunch.
Hope tells Bo she got a call from Glen and Barb and that JT is going to have surgery. No emergency, but a follow up to his earlier surgery. She says they are terrified and she wants to go and see him, but doesn't want to leave Zack behind either. Bo suggests that she take Zack along. It must have been the right answer as Hope calls him the best husband in the world. As she kisses him, Billie walks by and smiles. To herself, she says "I couldn't have planned it better myself".
DVD #51B 7/29 Hope is busy packing for her trip when she finds a box of chocolates in Bo's things. She asks why he is hiding it and he confirms it is a surprise. She thinks it was intended for Billie. He says it was a surprise for her as she apologizes to a hurt Bo. She swears that she trusts him, it is Billie she doesn't trust. Bo swears that no one can ever come between them again and they kiss.
Shawn finds his dad packing some surprises in Hope's carry-on bag. Bo tells him about her going to Iowa to be there for JT’s upcoming surgery. Bo offers to get him a ticket to go too if he wants to. But Shawn decides not to go. He seems to be distracted but Bo wants to tell him something important, about Billie being back in town and on the police force. Shawn asks if she is stirring up trouble, but Bo assures him that isn't the case. Shawn goes up to see Hope and Zack as Bo promises himself again that nothing will come between him and Hope again.
7/30 Inside the house, Hope comes downstairs after a little afternoon delight, looking for everyone. Bo said Shawn must have put Zack down for a nap while they were busy. She mentions going out to the garage for her suitcase. She teases him about keeping her too busy to pack. He tells her that he misses her already and she tells him, ditto. He’ll go get her suitcase for her and she winks and throws kisses to him as she goes upstairs (they must have had fun making that scene with her being 8 1/2 months pregnant in real life!).
John finds Bo on his way to the garage and tells him what he found out about the blue key. He tells Bo he had the key tested and NASA developed it for the space shuttle to withstand extreme heat and not released to the outside world yet. They have no idea how DiMeras got their hands on the material. They talk about Tony's behavior with neither believing him. Bo's happy Hope and Zack will be in Iowa. John wishes he could send Marlena with them and worried as she's home alone. Bo walks him to his car.
Bo gets to the garage and Shawn orders everyone to be quiet as Bo pounds on the door calling for Shawn. Shawn pretends the door is sticky as he pulls away the chair in front of the door knob and says he was in the garage looking for the big box of toys that were JT's as Mom might want to take some back to JT. Bo agrees, but realizes Shawn's trying to get him out of the garage and asks why (Belle and the GT's are hiding behind boxes). Shawn sends Bo back to the house with the box of toys, saying he just wanted to be alone, and will bring in the suitcases. He tells Belle they needed a better hiding spot and takes the suitcases to the house.
Both Bo and Shawn let Hope know they'll miss her and she loves it, saying she won't be gone that long, but laughingly asks Shawn not to chase any aliens while she's gone. Shawn looks at the door and sees the female half smiling at him. Belle finally pulls her away and Bo and Hope notice Shawn's edginess, but figure he and Belle are still just working things out. Shawn leaves to take a drive and Bo and Hope turn off the lights and head upstairs (hey, leave the light on for the kid at least!). The knucklecracker watches from outside.
7/31 At the Brady household, Hope and Zack prepare to visit J.T. in Iowa. Shawn is hanging a huge, "We will miss you" banner, and Bo is assisting. Hope comes down, with a worried look. She is concerned about JT, wants to be there for him, but hates leaving Bo behind. They talk of all the time they have been apart. Hope expresses her fears about leaving and even considers canceling the trip, saying she fears Billie Reed has a devious plan up her sleeve. Bo reassures her that Billie can do nothing to tear them apart. Hope trusts Bo, but not Billie, knows she has ulterior motives, whatever they are.
Rex knock a stack of boxes over, making lots of racket. Shawn tells everyone to stay put as he will go outside to run interference. Sure enough, here comes Bo to investigate the noise, but Shawn claims he did it, Hope comes out, and they all say their goodbyes.
Bo goes to the departure gate with Hope and Zack to see them off. Hope tells Bo she's no longer worried about leaving Salem, and boards the plane. But, little does she know, Billie is at the airport spying on them.
8/2 Craig was at the police station with Bo watching hospital video from the night of the baby switch. Craig told Bo that there was nothing unusual and even though the babies were temporarily in the wrong bassinets, identification depends on the ID bracelets given immediately after birth which are "impossible" to tamper with.
Later, as Bo reviewed the tapes again, he kept remembering Craig's words, "The key is the ID bracelets." This sparked an idea for Bo, and he rewound the tape. After watching intently, he called Abe over to watch too. Abe agreed it could be something, so Bo took the tape to the lab to get it enhanced. A cop returns with the tape, telling Bo and Abe that it has been enhanced. He tells them to take another look, they may have a breakthrough.
8/5 Bo and Abe watch the tape in shock as they see how the babys' name bracelets change like magic before their eyes. Bo immediately says that Stefano was responsible as the bracelets weren’t switched. They agree that it is both brilliant and evil at the same time. Abe vows to bring everyone involved in this to justice.
Roman goes in with Abe and Bo and watches the tape and comes to same conclusion, it was Stefano. Abe, Roman and Bo leave the office and Billie wanders in and sees the baby tape onscreen. She thinks about how she and Bo once had a baby but he acts like it never happened.
Bo comes in and asks if she is okay? She tells him she gets emotional whenever she sees babies, as they remind her of Georgia. Bo gets a call from Hope and Billie leaves. He and Hope talk as she gives him the update that JT’s surgery has been postponed. She talks about how well adjusted he is and what good parents Glen and Barb are. Bo sees Billie standing outside and cuts it short, promising to call Hope that night.
Lexie arrives at the station raising hell for being brought in by two police escorts. Abe has something to show her, but she isn't interested. She rants at him as they go into his office. They show Lexie the tape against her will. As she watches the bracelets change, her eyes get big as saucers and she gasps "Oh, my God”.
8/6 At the station, Lexie is distraught and she says, “It can’t be”! Abe tells her that Stefano did this and she can not deny it, Stefano lied to her. She runs out while Bo tries to comfort Abe. Despite his love for Lexie, he feels his marriage is truly over and plans to file for divorce.
Upon returning to the mansion, Lexie demands that Bart tell her Stefano's role in the baby switch. She wants to know if her father used chemicals on the baby bracelets. She accuses him of taking part in the deception that ruined her life. Bart doesn't give her any direct answers and tells her he isn’t liberty to talk about this, that he has sworn to never talk about it. His answer makes her realize that her father was responsible for ruining her life.
8/9 Bo called Hope to let her know that the hospital tape showed the ID bracelets definitely were switched, probably by Stefano. Hope shared this tidbit of information with Barb, who daydreamed about the hush money she had received from Lexie.
Meanwhile, Billie hung around the police station, waiting for an opportune moment to impose herself on Bo's bust. She finally convinced a newlywed detective not to risk going undercover and volunteered herself for the gig. When Billie showed up for the warehouse bust, Bo was furious, but let her go in. When Billie got herself in a compromising situation, Bo and his troops charged the scene. The perp grabbed Billie at gunpoint, but she flipped him then pinned him. Bo was less than impressed and threatened to take her badge for subverting his authority and jeopardizing the operation.
Feeling guilty for keeping her knowledge about the baby switch from Hope, Barb 'fessed up. She told Hope that she had known for a long time before anyone else knew. She told Hope about going to bribe Lexie, then she dropped the big bomb: Lexie had already known about the switch too! Hope was so shocked that she called Bo immediately, but had to settle for his voicemail.
Meanwhile at the warehouse, Bo's phone beeped with Hope's message, but Billie and Bo were still arguing about Billie's insubordination. Just then, a huge bolt of lightning struck as Bo and Billie turned to see something huge about to crash into the warehouse on the dynamic duo.
8/14 All of Lexie's secrets come to light, leaving her alone and in complete darkness. The sparks start to fly when Hope tells Bo that Lexie had prior knowledge of the baby switch before everyone else and that she even blackmailed Barb to keep quiet about it. Bo tells Abe. He immediately he erupts and calls his and Lexie's marriage quits. Ironically, this happens the morning after the couple shared a night of passion in which they supposedly renewed their love.
Bo convinces Roman to let Billie off the hook for sneaking herself into the drug bust operation, Meanwhile, Billie and Kate discuss life and love. Billie tries to convince Kate that she is over Bo, but Kate doesn't believe her. Billie tells Kate all about the drug sting that happened the night before and how she was able to work professionally with Bo. Billie in turn questions Kate about her feelings for Roman, and admits she is uncomfortable with the idea of Kate and Roman seeing each other because Roman is her boss. Kate assures Billie that "hell would freeze over" before she and Roman ever get together.
8/20 Billie panics when she overhears Roman on a phone call with the Commissioner and assumes she's being thrown off the force. She confides in Bo, and he offers to talk to the Commissioner himself. She declines, but is touched that Bo believes in her enough to offer. She calls her mysterious contact and reveals she may be out of the station soon. Billie leaves; Roman returns, hands Bo a key to the Salem Inn, and says Bo's spending the night with Billie.
Bo comforts Jennifer as she gushes over Jack and realizes she may still have feelings for him. As she thinks Jack can't hurt her again, she sees Jack and Billie making plans for their first date.
8/21 A hit man is out to get Victor, and to save him, Bo must go undercover as Billie's lover-at the order of the police commissioner. Of course, Bo doesn't want to take part in the operation, but does to save his dad. Billie however is ecstatic although she doesn't show it in front of him. Roman warns Bo that he has to keep quiet about the operation and cannot tell Hope. When Bo later talks to Hope, he learns that J.T's surgery went well, Barb delivered her baby, and that Hope will stay in Iowa a little longer to help Barb adjust.
Meanwhile, a mystery man lurks in the shadows of Salem. He watches Billie from a distance as she purchases lingerie for her night with Bo during their undercover operation.
8/23 Roman told Billie that her undercover work with Bo would be her big chance to prove herself. Billie informed Roman that she planned to have Bo in bed by the end of the evening. Roman told her that this stake out was no joke. Bo walked up during their bantering and Billie assured them both that nothing would go wrong.
Victor arrived for his meeting with Bo. Victor insisted on being at the Salem Inn to help bring down the assassin. Bo said no way, but Victor assured Bo that Nicole was not coming and that he had to be part of the action. Roman forwarded the message to Bo that the assassin had arrived in Salem.
At the Salem Inn, Bo and Billie are undercover as a "couple" in the lobby as Victor checked in to his suite. They were observing a suspicious man with a briefcase and began to kiss to cover up their staring. Just then, Shawn entered the lobby to see his father kissing Billie.
Back at the Salem Inn, Billie followed the suspicious man with the briefcase. Bo was eyeing another guy who appeared to be reaching in his jacket for something. Just then, Nicole and Sami burst into the lobby arguing. Victor was stunned to see them and looked to Bo for help. Bo was still watching his suspect. The suspect pulled a gun and pointed it at Victor. Bo already had his gun pointed at the suspect, but Nicole, Sami and an unknown guest were blocking his shot. Bo yelled for everyone to get out of the way, just as the gunman fired his weapon.
8/26 After the hit man aims and fires, Bo yells out that "she's" been shot. Billie chases after the gunman and shoots him. Victor complains to Bo that Nicole and Sami were present for the stakeout. Bo assures Billie she did everything right at the hotel. Shawn arrives at the hospital in time to see Bo hug Billie.
8/27 Bo explains to Shawn that he and Billie were kissing because they were working undercover as a married couple. Billie also explains that afterwards, Bo was comforting her because she shot and killed her first criminal. Jennifer leaks to Bo that Jack asked Billie out on a date.
9/4 Bo, Jack and Jennifer gather to talk about their attempts to bust the DiMera clan and determine they each have come to nothing, but a dead end in their mission. Jack asks Jennifer to end her plan of dating Colin. At the time, she says she will, but later breaks her promise and calls Colin after seeing Jack and Billie out on a date. Jennifer tries to keep her cool about the Jack-Billie situation and even attempts to accept it. That is until Billie interrupts the meeting between her, Bo, and Jack. Jennifer then erupts. Bo also lets loose on Billie. Billie lashes back at Bo by reminding him that they both shared feelings for each other in the past.
Colin receives an engraved silver bullet, left to him from Stefano. He immediately knows what to do with it. But, what he doesn't know is that Bo is close to him.
9/9 At the police station, Jennifer and Bo overhear Jack and Billie's "pillow talk"; Jack has been trying to help Billie sleep at night after the trauma of her shooting the hit man. Jack and Jennifer announce to Bo and Billie that they are being honored for saving Victor from the hit man. Billie is uncomfortable with this seeing as she shot and killed a man, but the others talk her into accepting the award. Later, Billie makes a phone call and tells the person on the other end that it's going better than she hoped with Bo.
At the dorms it's a madhouse as all the kids arrive for their first day. Shawn gets to his room and there confides to his dad that he's sick of Belle's concern for the twins. He also voices his concerns over Billie and Bo working together. Bo tells his son he intends to steer clear of Billie for everyone's sake! Belle and Marlena arrive; Belle and Shawn apologize to each other. Caprice shows up and surprises all by saying she's the dorm's RA! Shawn meets his roommate "Dozer"(Belle and Mimi are roomies)and then the adults leave the teens to start their new life at school. Once back at the police station Bo and Billie are given memos that are not good news as far as Bo is concerned.
9/10 Billie is enthused to be partnered full time with Bo. He tries to fight it, but Abe's hands are tied because the order came from the commissioner. Billie makes another mysterious call and says she has good news about Bo.
The "Celebration of Heroes" kicks off in the park as Alice is honored for her contributions to the community, as well as her son, Bill Horton for his work in Africa. The tribute to her father, who couldn't be there, has a strange effect on Jennifer. Kate and Victor make donations on behalf of Basic Black and Titan, while Roman and Abe unveil plans for a memorial to those who've died in Salem in the line of duty. Abe is upset when Lexie and Tony make a generous donation to a trust fund for families of fallen police/fire fighters, but he leads the applause for them, wanting his fellow workers' families to benefit.
9/12 Shawn and Belle show up late to the heroes ceremony. Shawn overhears the Commissioner telling Bo and Billie how happy he is that they are permanent partners. Shawn gets angry and the Commissioner asks him why. Shawn just says heąs mad they missed the ceremony. Bo tells Shawn later that he doesnąt want to be partners with Billie and he is doing everything he can to get out of it.
Jack and Jennifer continue to get closer through working together. Jennifer is visibly jealous when Jack pulls Billie away for a newspaper interview about her award. Bo says it bothers him to see Jennifer feel bad. Jennifer again denies that she is jealous. Billie notices Bo and Jennifer watching her and Jack and is enjoying it. The Mayor and the Commissioner offer Billie the job of being the Mayors personal security. Billie says she is honored but since she is only a rookie, doesnąt feel qualified to take on the job. Bo is angry that she turned down the job and asks her why. Billie says she doesnąt want to leave him. Then she expands to say she needs to learn more from him. The mysterious knuckle cracker watches Bo and Billie as they talk. Bo leaves. As Billie walks across the park, is confronted by the mysterious knuckle cracker, who she seems to recognize.
At the police station, Roman admits to Abe that he got a court order to get access to Kateąs bank records after seeing the note and check that Stefano left for her by his attorney. Abe asks Roman about the real reason he is so interested in Kate. Roses are delivered to Roman from Kate with a note saying she isnąt into playing his games. Bo busts in and demands that he be removed as Billie's partner.
9/13 A shaken Billie returns to the station, having flashbacks of running into the mystery man and telling him that she will call him later and that they can not be seen together. She walks into Abe's office, hearing him, Roman and Bo discussing her. Abe tries to force her into taking the Mayor's offer and she gets really upset and angry with the three of them. She says that they can't do this to her and spouts off disrespectfully at Abe, saying it is just a good ole boys club and thinks they are all in a conspiracy against her.
Outside, Roman and Bo wonder why she is so worked up. Roman asks Bo if he is over her and he insists that he is and loves Hope. Roman asks why he feels so threatened by her. Bo thinks that it is Billie that isn't over him. Billie comes out, telling Bo that she hopes he is happy for ruining her future. Roman excuses himself as Bo and Billie argue over his interference. Bo says that it is a great opportunity for her, but she doesn't see it that way. She storms off as Bo breathes a sigh of relief.
Later we see Bo on the phone with Hope who is calling from the Reiber kitchen. He tells her about Billie being reassigned. They spend time catching up as Bo tells her that Lexie wasn't charged with anything and that the case is closed. He also tells her about Abe filing for divorce. She talks about how great JT is doing and how well he and Zack are getting along and promises to be home soon.
Meanwhile, Billie is in Salem Place on the phone with her mystery guy. She is telling him that she didn't know he was in Salem and that they can never be seen together. She tells him that she has a problem on her hands right now and she believes that it is time for Phase 2. She tells him not to worry, Bo won't get rid of her no matter how hard he tries.
9/19 At the Spectator, Jack sent Bo an urgent summons. When Bo arrives, Jack demand that he barge into Colin's room and save Jennifer, that she is there with him right this very minute! Bo refused, saying that Jennifer would not sleep with Colin for a story. Jack was afraid that Jennifer was running because she hated him. Bo clued Jack in and told him that Jennifer loved him, and that was why she was running away from him. Jack dropped another bombshell by announcing that he was moving into the DiMera mansion "to get an exclusive story on the DiMera family." Bo was shocked.
John calls Bo over. He tells him what is going on and gets upset when Bo is not upset too. He tells him about the Gemini twins (the aliens Shawn and Belle found earlier in the summer), and the Phoenix tattoo, but Bo still trusts Shawn’s judgment that the twins are harmless. John warns Bo that Stefano created the twins and he doesn’t understand why he is the only one who sees the danger!
10/1 As Jack eavesdrops, Bo confronts Colin about the breach of hospital security. Colin suggests Bo check with his niece, Sami. Bo encourages Jack to forget about the aliens and continue digging dirt at the DiMera Mansion. Bo offers Philip a place to stay, but Philip declines because he doesn't want to cause a rift between Bo and Victor.
10/4 Bo arrives and talks with Brady about interfering with the private investigator's search for Chloe's father. He offers Brady his help in the matter. Jack runs to Bo about being kicked out of the DiMera mansion. Jack's curious when Bo questions him about dating Billie. They're interrupted by a call for Bo from Hope who promises that she will be home soon.
10/8 While shopping for Hope in anticipation of her return, Bo saw Billie in the same store. The duo unexpectedly succeeded at apprehending a shoplifter. Later, Bo apologized for thinking that Billie had had ulterior motives for wanting to work with him.
Billie returned to the dressing mirror, finding the words, "It's time. Lock in on Bo" scrawled in red. She phoned Chief Russell, saying she could not work her security detail at the mayor's dinner and additionally, requesting time for personal reasons.
10/9 Bo was excited over the fact that Hope was headed home. What he was not pleased about was the fact that Billie was hanging around the police station. Billie met with Abe and begged him to take her back on the police force. Her motives, however, appeared suspect. Billie then made a phone call to the mystery knuckle-cracking man and told him that she knew Hope's itinerary.
10/11 Bo prepared for Hope's homecoming. Caroline stopped by and pitched in with the housekeeping chores. Bo made arrangements for Caroline to watch Zack so Bo and Hope could go to Green Mountain Lodge for some romantic time together. After the house was spotless with Caroline's expert assistance, the banner was hung, and the gifts were in place, Bo left to pick up Hope and Zack at the airport. At the airport, Hope's flight was delayed slightly. When it finally arrived, Hope and Zack were not on board.
10/14 Bo is unsettled when he discovers that Hope and Zack missed their flight. He calls Glen and learns that he was with them all the way to the security gate; none of the family has heard from her either and she doesn't answer her cell phone. He doesn't start to panic until the next flight from Cedar Rapids arrives and Hope isn't on it.
10/15 At Salem's PD, a frustrated Bo filled in what few details he had about Hope's disappearance, for Abe and Roman, while Billie (who denied knowing about Hope) had a secret phone conversation. Roman confronted her about her unexplained whereabouts for 24 hours. Bo suddenly remembered Stefano's bequeath to Hope, now feeling sure that Tony & Lexie were behind a kidnapping and was determined to "beat the truth out of them if I have to." We see Hope bound and gagged, unconscious in the back seat of a car and Zach in his car seat.
10/16 Shawn wakes up surprised to see Bo in his room; he's anguished when he learns that his mom and brother are missing. Bo admits he suspects kidnapping, and Shawn immediately assumes it was Lexie. Bo tells Shawn he's going to Iowa to investigate, wants Shawn to stay at the house in case any ransom calls come in.
Meanwhile, Lexie confronts Abe about being tailed, but she becomes distressed when she learns that Zack is missing and that Abe suspects her. Bo enters and warns Lexie that if he doesn't find Hope in Cedar Rapids, he's coming after her.
10/18 Bo was in Iowa trying to find clues in Hope's kidnapping case. Glen told Bo that he was with Hope all the way through security and to the gate at the airport, but left her there to await for boarding. Bo investigated further with the help of local police and airport officials. A flight attendant came forward with information about the day that Hope disappeared.
The woman told Bo that she had bumped into Hope. Hope told her she had received a phone call telling her that JT had been taken to the hospital and someone would pick her up at the airport to take her to JT. Bo thanked the flight attendant for the information and requested surveillance tapes and Hope's cell phone records.
Bo reported his findings to Roman via cell phone. Bo examined Hope's cell phone records and found that the phone call luring Hope away had come from inside the airport, proving that the kidnapper had been watching Hope and Zack.
**The End**
