Bo & Hope #53 January 3 - March 10, 2003: 8 hour original edit

DVD #53A Victor brings Nicole into the room, though she looks shaken as she finally weds Victor. Shawn returns empty handed, nervous, and Bo, Belle, and Shawn split up to search for Hope. Bo finds Hope at home, shocked to see her hand covered in blood. As Belle searches for Hope, she lets out a blood-curdling scream when she stumbles upon Colin's dead body.

1/6 Bo came in the front door of the Brady house and yelled for Hope. She came out of the kitchen with a vague expression on her face and her left hand was bleeding badly. He wrapped the bleeding hand and asked her where she had been and why she left the wedding. She said that she left because she wasn't feeling well and needed to get home and get something into her stomach. She said she cut her hand when she was slicing an apple.

Bo asked her what upset her so much at the wedding to make her come home. She spaced out and had a flash-back, seeing herself come out of the mansion to the patio where she had encountered Colin Murphy who was on the phone. He was telling someone that he would kill Bo Brady that night.

When Colin turned around to face her, he "morphed" into Larry who was pointing a gun at her! As she came out of her flash-back she heard Bo begging her to tell him what was wrong. He wanted to know what she was keeping something from him. She said that she had no reason to keep anything from him, but Bo reminded her that she kept things from him because she didn't want him to worry about her and what happened with Larry. Then she got very upset and told Bo that she never wanted him to talk about that man again. Bo backed off and told her he was going to call Shawn to let him know that his mother was okay.

When he reached Shawn, he learned about the murder of Colin Murphy. Knowing that he was needed at the crime scene, Bo told Shawn to come home and stay with his mother because he didn't want Hope to be alone. Shawn got home a little later and rushed to hug his mother. The phone rang and Hope answered it. While she was on the phone with Caroline, Bo told Shawn not to say anything to Hope about Colin. He felt that Hope needed her rest and they could wait until the next day to tell her.

After Bo had left to go to the mansion, Hope could see that there was something bothering Shawn. He said that he had just been afraid when they couldn't find her earlier. Hope promised never to do that again, but Shawn told her that he didn't think she could make that promise. He asked her why the bad guys were always after the Brady's. Hope sat Shawn down on the sofa and told him that he didn't have to worry any more about all those people who had tried to hurt them. She insisted that they were all gone. She said she could understand that it was hard not to be afraid, but she wanted him to just "push those bad guys away."

In her mind, she saw another apparition of Larry walking in the front door - she glared at the sight and then said again, slowly, "push those bad guys away" as Larry's image faded from her mind. She got up and went to lock the front door and said, "and he won't be back." Shawn asked "who" won't be back. Hope, ignoring Shawn's question, told him that they shouldn't have negative thoughts any more and changed the subject to ask Shawn how he was. He said he was ok and went to call Belle.

In Hope's mind she told herself that Colin didn't kill Bo, and he wouldn't now because he was dead. Around the other side of the house, Belle was calling for Hope when she stumbled on the body of Colin Murphy. She jumped back and screamed. Suddenly there was a hand on her shoulder. She whirled around to find Brandon Walker standing behind her. He told her to back away as he knelt down to take Colin's pulse. Belle's screams had alerted the occupants of the house, who then started to file out of the house to see what the fuss was about.

Shawn arrived and protectively took Belle in his arms. Victor asked if anyone had called an ambulance. Jack responded by taking out his cell phone to make the call. Brandon looked up at them and told them that it wouldn't do any good, Colin was dead! Jack dialed 911 as the camera panned the faces of all who were gathered around the body. Every one of them looked as if they knew more about the death of Dr. Colin Murphy than they were willing to admit.

Bo arrived on the scene and got brought up to speed on the situation by Abe. Bo told Abe that Shawn was at home with Hope and that he would give his statement in the morning. Abe said to Bo that they would have to get a statement from Hope as well, but Bo told him to leave Hope alone. Seeing the puzzled look on Abe's face Bo explained that he hadn't told Hope about Colin because she was still getting over the horrors of Larry. Abe then offered his condolences to Bo, Colin being his cousin and all. Bo told Abe not to worry as Colin was scum!

Elsewhere, Bo wanted to know why Jack and Jennifer were even at the wedding. Jack said it was a long story. Bo asked if Jack knew why Colin was there and Jack wondered aloud if Bo was interrogating him. Bo told Jack that he was only glad it wasn't Jack lying on the terrace with a bullet in his back. Jack didn't understand and Bo explained that Jennifer had told him earlier that Colin was threatening to kill Jack. Then Jack told Bo that Jen was very upset and that he wanted to take her home. He asked Bo if Jen could give her statement in the morning. Over Bo's shoulder, Jack could see Jen coming back into the room and he quickly whisked Bo out into the hallway. But Jen saw them and started to follow. Just as Jen entered the hallway, and much to her horror, Jack blurted out to Bo that HE had killed Colin Murphy!

1/7 As the Prosecutor waited, Jack repeatedly confessed to Abe and Bo that he murdered Colin refusing a trial and wanting to spare Jennifer. Left helpless without a defense for his client, Mickey had to refuse Jennifer access to speak with him, as she pleaded his innocence. Still being visited by apparitions of Larry, Hope came to Salem PD to support her cousin and recalled her bloodstained, cut hand when considering "reasonable doubt" in Jack's case. As Jack was taken away for arraignment, Bo told Mickey he felt Jack was covering for someone and Hope told Jen that she knew Jack didn't murder Colin.

1/8 Jennifer is distraught as Jack continues to sit in his cell. Hope, still stressed about the visions of Larry she keeps seeing, tries to comfort her cousin. Abe tells Billie that charges against her have been dropped. When he tries to tell her that she is an important part of the team, she scoffs. No one on the PD had her back, nor believed in her. She tells Bo & Hope that she never should have come back to Salem as she walks out. Hope tells Bo that she hopes she never has to see her again. Hope wants to go back to the time before Billie brought Larry Welch back into their lives. Billie goes to the airport, and says a soft goodbye to Bo (in her mind) and says she will always love him.

1/9 Bo and Roman both decide to question Sami, she sticks to her story but tells them they may want to talk with Tony. She tells them that when Colin threatened her she went to Tony to see if he will do something about Colin and she assumed he might have a hand in the murder. The ballistics report that the bullet did not come from Roman's gun, however Roman and Bo still don't completely believe Sami. Bo and Abe question Jennifer about the activities during the wedding and Colin's murder. Jennifer tells them that she found Colin on the ground, but didn't know if he was dead when she found him, nonetheless she was shook up about it when she went to talk to Jack. Jennifer soon realizes that Jack thinks she killed Colin and was trying to cover up for her so she didn't end up in jail. They lead Jack to investigation room where Jennifer is being questioned. Upon seeing Jennifer he basically admits the only reason why he said he killed Colin was to protect Jennifer.."I'd do anything to protect you." Bo released Jack and Jennifer telling them to go home.

1/10 Bo is concerned when Hope tells him that she still isn't sleeping well, she hasn't picked up Zack, and is constantly distracted. He calls Marlena and implores her to come and see Hope; after Bo's gone back to the station, Marlena reveals that Bo called her because he's worried. Hope insists she is coping, but she's distracted by Larry's voice in her head as Marlena brings up the possibility that Hope may be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. As Marlena and Hope take down the Christmas tree, Hope breaks an ornament and is hit with a memory of a body on the ground at the Kiriakis Mansion, but the body isn't Colin’s, it's Larry.

Bo shows up in time for Tony's questioning and presses him to admit that Colin was more than a physician to the DiMeras. Tony denies and turns it on Bo, saying Colin confided that he didn't feel welcome by his family. Later, a letter is turned in from Colin's safe that he wrote, saying if anything should happen to him, the Brady family should be viewed as suspects, especially Bo Brady.

1/13 Over in Abe's office, Bo, Roman and Abe discussed the Colin Murphy case. A letter, supposedly written by Colin, had been found. It had warned that if anything were to happen to Colin, authorities should check on the Brady Family. Bo claimed that it must have been a fake. He said that everyone knew that he had no use for Colin, but that Colin had cared for his Uncle Shawn, so why would he have accused the whole family.

An officer arrived with the handwriting analysis which proved that the letter had, in fact, been written by Colin and that his fingerprints were all over it. Roman suggested that perhaps Colin had been coerced into writing it. Just then the door flew open and the D.A. marched in, demanding that the Brady Brothers be taken off the case! Abe saw red at this, and told him that the D.A.'s office didn't have the authority to tell him how to run his department. He told the D.A. that if he had any question that he could contact the Commissioner!

Roman smirked, saying that he wasn't even at the wedding, so he couldn't be a suspect. Bo remarked that all his movements had been accounted for and he was in the clear. Palmer wondered about the rest of the Brady family, but Abe told him that they had all been cleared from the suspect list. Palmer retorted that he would leave for now, but warned that if it turned out that a Brady was responsible, he would NOT cut a deal! After the D.A. huffed out of the office, John and Marlena came in and were brought up-to-date on the investigation. They were told of Sami's involvement and how she had run to Tony for help. They weren't told what Sami actually saw; just that Colin had been holding something over her head. They were told that Sami had stolen Roman's gun, had accidentally fired it in the parking lot, and then had returned it, and that her story had checked out. John made the remark that once again, the Brady's were a target of the DiMera's.

Roman reminded John that he was not a Brady, but John replied that anyone who attacked a Brady attacked him, that he was Brady in his soul. Marlena had motioned for Bo to move across the room and they talked about Hope. Bo explained all of the Hope's strange behavior since the kidnapping. He told Marlena that Hope didn't seem to want to have Zack around and that Zack was still at Shawn and Caroline's. Marlena suggested that perhaps Hope felt that Zack was safer at his grandparent's house. Bo agreed that sounded plausible. Marlena asked if maybe Hope had seen something at the wedding that had disturbed or frightened her, but Bo felt sure that if that had happened that Hope would have told him. All that Marlena could say was for Bo and the family be supportive of Hope.

Later, after John and Marlena had left, the photos from the crime scene arrived. Roman made the suggestion that Victor might be involved somehow, but Bo hated the idea that his father might have had anything to do with this. They all agreed, however, that Victor should be brought in for questioning after he returned from his honeymoon. Bo went over to the Suspect Board and began moving the names of people who had been cleared to the bottom of the board. He allowed as how the more they narrowed it down, the more it looked like Tony did it. When he came to Hope's name, Bo paused for a long while before finally moving it to the bottom of the board where the non-suspect section was.

1/14 Following a memorial service for Colin, the Bradys gathered at the Pub. Caroline explained that her husband was in disbelief of any connection Colin might have had to the DiMeras. She asked that he not be told about Colin's letter accusing the Brady's. Bo and the younger Shawn were worried about Hope's behavior. Hope takes the garbage out back to the dumpster, where Larry is hiding out. He watches as Hope’s increasing hallucinations brought both amusement and curiosity to the real Larry. She keeps telling herself that he is dead but he is very much alive. Calling her "nuts," he was delighted to use Hope's ravings for a more tortuous plan.

Furious at Tony's presence, the Elder Shawn asked "which brother?" when Tony referred to John as his brother. What John had planned on discussing privately - was now revealed to the entire Brady Clan that he was a DiMera. As shocked family members quickly left, Shawn continued fighting this possibility claiming John as much theirs as Colin was and promising Tony a fight to the death by the Brady's. But as Tony watched, Shawn was suddenly overcome and collapsed of an apparent heart attack.

1/15 The EMT’s report that Shawn is stabilized and Caroline goes with them to the hospital. Bo, Roman, Marlena and John all soon arrive. Roman believes that there is more to the feud with the DiMeras from Ireland than Shawn let on to his family. John knows that Tony showed up at the pub and dropped the bomb about John’s connection to the DiMeras knowing exactly what he is doing. He promises that if Shawn doesn’t make it, that Tony will pay with his life! Caroline says that he doesn’t have to commit violence on their behalf. Roman and Bo are also in line to take their revenge should Shawn not make it. Caroline cries as she waits for news. Roman, Bo, and John discuss the murder case and the coincidence that the note from the safe contained the same information that Tony divulged in his statement to the police. They all believe Tony could be involved with Colin's murder because of his involvement with the DiMera organization.

1/16 Bo is at the pub when Hope comes in. Bo demands to know where she was and why she wasn't answering her cell phone. Hope tells him she went grocery shopping. He asks why Zack is still with her parents and she says that it was faster at the store without him. He isn't buying it. He tells her he thinks she has a problem, she denies it saying its just stress from the holidays and Colin's murder and that she is just tired. They sit down to talk, Bo grabs her hand and she looks towards the bar where Larry is sitting with a pint of beer, Hope looks down at her hands then back up and it appears that Larry is holding her hand, not Bo. Hope screams, "Stop it!" and realizes that it is Bo and not Larry. Bo is startled, wanting to know what she wants him to stop, she recovers and says to stop asking her questions. She tells him that she is going to get Zack and go home for a nap. Bo still seems concerned.

As Hope walks out the pub door, she looks down and sees Larry on the ground, appearing to imitate Colin's body. She freezes from shock, Bo comes out and tries to talk to her, she stares unblinkingly at the "body", Bo sees nothing. Larry's head raises and turns to stare at her. She gasps and turns into Bo's arms, then faints. Shawn and Belle stop by the pub to see how Pop Shawn is and discovers Hope there. She apologizes to her son for scaring them. Shawn asks Bo how the case is going, if there are any suspects. Bo is curious why Shawn wants to know about this case so much, he has never been concerned over any other case. Shawn says its because Colin is their cousin. He has flashbacks of running into a frightened Hope at the wedding and comforting Belle after she finds Colin's body.

1/17 Hope wakes up after passing out and Bo gently confronts her about what's really troubling her. He reminds her that she saved him when they met and he was angry and a loner. He continues because of her, he has a beautiful wife, his two children, she saved him. He tells her how much he believes in her, and she is strong and can get through anything. He urges her to open up and she finally tells Bo how she's being haunted by visions of Larry, that he is always with her. She confesses that she is blacking out and losing time. After Hope falls asleep, Bo curses Larry, while Hope dreams of seeing Larry's dead body morph into Colin's corpse. Bo is alerted when Hope murmurs Colin's name in her sleep.

1/20 At the Brady household, Hope was in a restless sleep on the sofa, dreaming that she was standing outside the Kiriakis house looking down at a dead Larry Welsh lying in the snow. Suddenly, Larry's face turned to Colin's face. She stirred in her sleep and called Colin's name. Bo gently touched her face which made her jump awake. Bo told her that she had said Colin's name and asked if she had been dreaming of Colin. Hope told him that she couldn't remember the dream. She said she was afraid because she was starting to lose time and having blackouts. Bo assured her that now she was talking about it, that it would lose its control over her. He promised her that they would get rid of that ghost, that Larry Welsh would be exorcised from her mind forever. Meanwhile, at Larry's motel room, he was in front of a mirror applying white makeup and talking to himself. He was promising Hope that he was going to "help" the ghost in her mind and see how close he could push her to the edge.

Jen and Jack arrived at the Brady house. Jen could see that Hope looked upset and suggested that they could do the decorating the next day. Hope said no, that she would be fine. Bo took Jack down to the basement to get the boxes of decorations. Jen told Hope that she and Jack were working slowly to get back together. Hope was so happy to hear that and gave Jen a big hug. Jen was near tears when the doorbell rang. It was Marlena. Hope invited her in and closed and locked the front door. While Marlena and Jen were exchanging greetings, Hope looked out the front window to see Larry standing there. She forced herself to go in and greet Marlena. Hope went to the kitchen to get some tea.

Downstairs in the basement, Jack was telling Bo how bad he felt because he couldn't protect Jennifer. Bo told him not to beat himself up over it. Bo's job was to protect people and he couldn't protect Hope from being kidnapped either. They picked up armloads of boxes and headed upstairs. Hope came out of the kitchen and Bo could see that she was upset. He asked her if she saw Larry again. She said that she had and that she wanted to talk about it with Marlena. Again Jen said that they could do the decorating the next day, and she and Jack left.

Hope then told Marlena about seeing apparitions of Larry Welsh. She said she had seen him when she locked the door just after Marlena had arrived, but this time there was something different about him, he looked more real. As the two women talked, Bo put on his jacket and went outside to look around. A little while after Marlena had left, Hope came outside looking for Bo, knowing that he was looking for Larry. Neither of them noticed a packet of matches in the snow.

1/23 Bo & Hope attend a birthday celebration for Alice Horton held at Tuscany's. Alice's life is celebrated including flashbacks of early Bo & Hope with her, including the Donut Caper. (Note this entire episode is included on a separate complimentary Bonus dvd).

Donations to various organizations were given in her name, including: Habitat for Humanity, Make a Wish, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Heifer Foundation, and The Horton Center. Also, as Hope comes in from the car with more decorations, she drops a bow on the ground and bends to pick it up. A hand grabs her shoulder; she gasps and turns threatening to kill Larry, telling him to get away from her. But it is Bo, not Larry. Hope gets upset, telling Bo she can't trust herself and she doesn't know what to do. Larry is listening in the bushes realizing the extent of Hope's distress over him.

Belle wants to know what is wrong with Shawn, telling him that she can handle anything he wants to tell her. But he hides and claims he is worried about Hope and upset that their special night on New Years was ruined. Again, Larry is hiding in the bushes listening to every word and enjoying the information he is getting on Hope. Hope goes outside for a breather. Larry is waiting for her, he appears like a ghost and calls Hope a murderer, Colin's murderer. She runs inside as Alice is blowing out her candles and the lights dim. Hope wonders to herself if she really did kill Colin and not remember.

1/24 Bo and Hope return home from Alice's birthday party and Hope is stunned at the realization that she may have killed Colin. She finally remembers some of the lost moments from the night, leading her to confide in Bo that she thinks she could have murdered Colin. She admits she saw Larry at the party and he called her a murderer, triggering all these memories. Hope picks up the phone to call Abe, but Bo stops her, adamant that they're not calling anyone.

1/27 At the Brady residence, Hope insisted that she call Abe and tell him that she had killed Colin. Bo wouldn't let her call or confess to anyone. He said that she could never make him believe that she had killed anybody. Hope told him that sooner or later he would have to face it. He said he would go to his grave proving that she was innocent.

Hope said that she was sure that she must have killed Colin and was blocking it all out. She worried that if she did shoot Colin, what if she did something to someone else. Bo told her there was no proof and for her to forget about it. The doorbell rang and it was Abe, wanting to talk to Bo about the case. Bo made an excuse for Hope to go upstairs and check on Zack, so she wouldn't say anything incriminating in front of Abe. Before she left, Abe told Bo that the DA was pressuring him to find a suspect. Hope got a guilty look on her face and went upstairs. Abe then told Bo that the DA was going on record that he believed a Brady was responsible for Colin's murder and that it was being covered up. Bo naturally insisted that NO Brady was involved and that he would prove it. Abe got a call on his cell phone and had to leave. Hope came back downstairs and told Bo that the letter Colin had written would lead the DA back to her. Bo vowed to find the real killer of Colin and put him away for life.

1/29 Hope still thinks she killed Colin and is determined to confess to the police, but Bo is just as convinced that she didn't do it and wants to find out who did. Shawn goes to Bo to confess that he killed Colin, but just can't bring himself to do it.

1/30 Bo visits Victor wanting to talk to his staff again. Victor wants to know whom and why considering Abe and the police have already talked to them twice. Bo wants to speak with the limo driver; Victor does reveal that the driver initially kept information from the police. The driver said that Hope looked very distraught and pale when he took her home. He mentioned that she didn't look him in the eyes and when he came to her house she opened the door and ran inside, not shutting the door or thanking him for driving her. Bo seems concerned and wants to know more. Victor gets a phone call and goes inside.

Bo tries to call Hope at home, with no answer tries Shawn's cell phone. When Shawn tells him she is with Marlena he panics and goes to find her, hoping she didn't tell Marlena that she might have killed Colin. Hope asks Shawn to take her to the hospital; she is continuing to hear Larry. But won't tell Shawn what he is saying to her. Hope goes to talk with Marlena, begging for help. She tells Marlena she is scared of who she is, what she did and what she has become. Hope tells Marlena that she loses time when she has the memories. Hope admits she has blackouts and is afraid she might have done horrible things, worse than Princess Gina, during this loss of time. She doesn't want to hurt her family, she wants to be with them and be happy. Hope tells Marlena that she saw Larry numerous times the night of the murder, even at Victor's. She explains she tried to forget about Larry and saw Jennifer upset. They went outside and Hope only remembers asking Victor's driver to take her home. She is afraid something happened in that time.

Just as it seems that Hope is going to tell Marlena, Bo comes in and tells her not to say anything. Marlena leaves to find Belle and Bo/Hope talk privately in her office. Before she leaves, Marlena prescribes Hope meds to ease her anxiety. Bo jumps on Hope asking if she told Marlena about the shooting, Hope says she can trust Marlena; there is the doctor/patient confidentiality. Bo denies it saying it can be broken and don't trust anyone. Bo tells Hope that he will prove she didn't kill Colin. Shawn goes to get his mom and overhears their conversation, but only hears his father vowing to "get the bastard who killed Colin." Shawn panics.

1/31 Bo calls Jennifer and asks if she can stay with Hope. Arriving at the Brady's, Jen fainted at the sight of a bloodied rag planted outside the house by Larry Welch. Later, Jennifer confided her fears of being pregnant with Colin's child to Hope. As Hope consoled her, she accidentally admitted killing Colin. Meanwhile, Bo was outside, finding the incriminating bloodied rag.

2/3 At the Brady's, Bo found a blood-soaked rag in the trash. He quietly opened the back door and placed the rag into a plastic bag and hid it in a drawer. Then he heard Hope telling Jennifer that she had killed Colin. Bo walked into the living room and told both Hope and Jen that Hope could not have killed Colin. He explained that he had talked with Victor's driver and found out that Hope didn't have any blood on her clothes or a gun when he had driven her home that night. Hope said that she could have hidden the gun. Jennifer, feeling uncomfortable being witness to this kind of talk, said she was going to make them all some tea and went into the kitchen. Bo told Hope that he was going to help Jen.

When he got into the kitchen he found that Jen had discovered the blood soaked evidence. He explained to Jen where he had found it and asked her not to mention it to Hope. Hope came in to see what was going on and Bo managed to hide the bag. Then Jen said that she wasn't feeling well and was going home. Hope escorted her to the door where Jen admitted that she had not seen a doctor yet, OR taken a pregnancy test. She worried about how to tell Jack. After Jen had left, Bo and Hope got comfy on the sofa. Hope said that she was feeling better now and was going to rip the "victim" sign off and throw it away. Bo suggested that he go and have the prescription filled that Marlena had given to her. Hope assured him that she didn't need it, but he said he wanted to get it just in case.

Outside, he called John to ask him where he could get some testing done on the QT. Inside, Hope was remembering fighting with Larry when she had been imprisoned by him. She went to the desk drawer and pulled out a leaflet about self defense classes. She decided that it was time to prepare herself.

Meanwhile, in his shabby motel room, a dejected Larry returned from Bo's back yard. He was infuriated that Bo had come home early and foiled his plan for Hope. He sat in front of the mirror and started to take of his white makeup, mumbling to himself that he would go to "Plan B." He began to practice Marlena's signature over and over. Then he wrote a "prescription of death" for Bo and Hope.

2/6 Hope goes to the basement and "sees" Larry again; Bo comes home from taking the bloody towel to the lab and can't find her. He hears something in the basement and finds Hope with boxing gloves hitting a punching bag. Bo gives her the pills Marlena prescribed, but thinks therapy would work better. Hope feels vulnerable and wants to take the self-defense class. She wants to feel powerful and in charge of her life. Bo agrees and thinks it would be a good idea for her. Hope picks up the phone when the lab calls Bo; the blood on the towel is chicken blood.

Bo is relieved and Hope wants to know what is going on. Bo tells her he found it in the garbage, Hope is convinced that Bo really did believe she was the killer and wanted it checked out. He denies her assumption, he didn't tell her about the towel for fear she would be even more convinced that she killed Colin. Hope tells Bo she will defeat the ghost of Larry.

In his hotel room, Larry gets aggravated with Bo for finding the towel and messing his plans, but vows to "prove" Hope is Colin's killer. He is going to use his ghost status to his advantage. One part of his plan is switching Hope's prescription. Laughingly he says once she takes these pills, she'll never need refill.

2/10 After being summoned by his father, Shawn arrived at Bo's office, but found it empty. His eyes roamed around the room and came to rest on his own name on the suspect list board. He was so engrossed in what he saw, he didn't hear Bo enter the room, and nearly jumped out of his skin when Bo put his hand on Shawn's shoulder. After Bo had calmed Shawn down, he tried to explain to his son that it was a routine list of all the people who had been at the wedding. Then Bo asked Shawn about the dishtowel that he had found in the trash. He did not, however, tell Shawn that the towel had been covered in blood. Shawn told his dad that he didn't know anything about the towel. Then he pleaded with his dad to take himself off the case. When Bo asked why, Shawn said that he should be at home with Hope because she needed him.

Bo explained that he had a job to do and that he couldn't just take time off at will. Bo vowed to Shawn that he would find the killer and put him away. At that, Shawn became very nervous and said he had to leave. Bo wanted to talk to Shawn some more, but Shawn rushed off.

Outside in the hall, Shawn got a call from Cassie. He told her that he had to confess what he had done. Cassie insisted that he go to the dorm and meet her. After Shawn left, Bo stepped out of his office and watched with a worried expression as his son left the building.

Returning from a jog, Hope went into the house. She saw the pills on the table and decided that she needed to eat something before she took one. She went into the kitchen. Keeping an eye on Hope from a vantage point outside, Larry took the opportunity to sneak in the front door, exchange the pill bottles, and then sneak out again. Hope returned from the kitchen, picked up the pills, opened them, and remarked that there were more pills in the battle than before. Her eyes turned to the front door, which was ajar.
Sure that she had closed the door when she entered, Hope went to the door and opened it wide.

She saw Larry standing there. He taunted her and told her that she had to confess to killing Colin. She told him that he didn't exist, that he was dead and that she was going to get him out of her mind for good. She lunged at him, and he turned and ran away. She went back into the house and locked the door.

Going over in her mind what had just happened, Hope realized that this time was very different. Larry hadn't faded away like before. Larry had turned and run away.

Hope then picked up the pills, went outside to look around, and threw the pills in the trashcan.

Later, Shawn found Hope’s pill bottle laying on the ground near the trash can. Cassie asked what the pills were for, and Shawn told her they were his mother's tranquilizers. Cassie told Shawn that maybe he needed tranquilizers (as Larry watches them from the bushes).

Hope had rushed over to the police station to see Bo to tell him what had happened with Larry. She said that Larry had seemed very real this time, and he had turned and run from her. She excused herself to go to the ladies' room.

Bo thought about what Hope had just told him. He began to wonder if Larry was really dead.

He asked himself why the ghost of Larry would tell Hope to confess to a murder that had happened after he was allegedly dead. He wondered if Larry could have been wearing a flack jacket at the time that Bo had shot him. He wondered out loud, "Is Hope seeing the real Larry? Is that bastard still alive?"

2/11 Concerned that Welch might be alive, Bo ordered a 24-hour undercover guard for his family. He arrived home to hear Shawn remark to Cassie that he was responsible for a man's death. Bo called Jennifer with his suspicions about Larry, leaving them fearful, but Jack's desire to protect the family brought a declaration of love from Jen. Finding a matchbook Welch had dropped near the house, Bo followed the lead and stormed into a motel room, looking for Welch. Hope was home, recalling the night of Colin's murder including crying out Shawn's name. Meanwhile, an overwrought Shawn was outside, taking one of the supposed tranquilizers at Cassie's insistence.

2/12 Bo found Larry's motel room empty, and Roman was shocked at the mounting evidence that Larry was still alive. Bo believed Larry was trying to frame Hope and convince her that she had killed Colin. The forensics report showed that the room had been wiped clean. They discussed the possibility that Larry could be involved in Colin's murder, and Bo moved Larry's name to the top of the suspect list. He put an APB out on Larry and also added a police detail on his family. Bo realized that he had to tell Hope the truth and worried that Larry might know they were onto him. Meanwhile, Larry was hiding in the sewers, even more angry and desperate, as he felt cornered.

2/13 Shawn headed to the Brady house and overheard his parents talking about Larry possibly being Colin's murderer; however, he thought they were talking about him. He asked them what they were talking about. Bo said that he had told Hope about Larry. Shawn went crazy again as Hope calmed him down. He told his parents he was there for weights in the basemen. He headed downstairs and began to hit the punching bag, making his injured hand bleed more. Bo stopped Shawn and said he had to be strong for Hope. Shawn yelled that he wanted Larry dead. Bo calmed him down, and Shawn left.

Larry had moved to the sewers, still hatching a plan to get Hope. He commented on Shawn's consumption of the pills and said that Shawn would do something "stupid" for him to drive Hope over the edge. Larry was preparing his final attack; he had blueprints of the area around the Brady house. He had to be careful, though; police and DiMera's men were out looking for him. He claimed no one would stop him from his blueprint of destruction for the Bradys.

Hope had a dream in which she saw the body. Larry turned Colin, lying in a pool of blood, then as if she were looking out the window, she saw Shawn holding a gun up to someone, then a hand was visible. Hope was saying, "Shawn, no." The phone rang, and she didn't hear it. Someone pounding on the door awakened her. Hope missed the phone call, but at the door was an officer. Hope thought he was there to arrest her. He told her he was there to protect her.

Bo entered and wanted to know why Hope hadn't answered the phone. She said she had been asleep and hadn't heard it. Bo told her that Larry could possibly still be alive and that he might have been terrorizing her, not just in her mind. They were worried about Shawn when he arrived and was agitated. After the phone call from Roman, Bo asked Hope if she remembered if Larry had been wearing a tux at the wedding. She said, "Yes, Larry was wearing a tux." Bo left for the police station, confident he had Larry nailed.

2/14 Hope was still having nightmares of Larry Welch in the house shooting Bo. Meanwhile, Welch was in a sewer below, reviewing blueprints and devising ways to get into the Brady house. At the Salem Police Station, Roman informed his brother of the possibility and impression that Bo was focusing on Larry just to defer attention from the real killer.

As Bo and Hope hurriedly prepared for Valentine's Day at Green Mountain Lodge, Larry Welch, unseen by the police guard, was eavesdropping through a vent on the property with plans for what he termed "housekeeping" to leave their house less than a haven when they returned.

2/17 As Shawn was reading the book, Alice dropped by with flowers for Bo and Hope. Shawn told Gran about Belle's gift, and Alice pleaded with Shawn to stop Belle from leaving. Shawn planted a kiss on Alice's cheek and sped off to the airport. Still at the Brady house, Gram was listening to music and talking to a picture of her and Tom, wishing Tom a happy Valentine's Day. Unbeknownst to her, Larry was lurking in the basement, doing something to the furnace and the pipes. He mumbled to himself that when the Bradys got home, they would have a humdinger of a present waiting for them. He sneered at the fact that "Matriarch" Alice Horton was upstairs all alone. He chuckled to himself that a little carbon monoxide was all she needed for a one-way ticket to "Tom-Tom Land." Upstairs, Alice had fallen asleep.

Bo and Hope woke up after a wonderful night at Green Mountain Lodge. Bo went to pour them a bath, and while he was gone, there was a knock at the door. It was a delivery of roses and a heart-shaped box. Bo entered the room and yelled for Hope not to open the box. A frightened Hope thought that maybe the box was from Larry, but Bo assured her that it was from him and that he wanted to be there beside her when she opened it. The box was filled with memorabilia of their life together. The first thing Bo took from the box was a miniature motorcycle, and there was a flashback of a much younger Bo and Hope and his bike. Hope then took out a small carrousel, and they remembered the carnival and the kissing booth. Bo said that first kiss had sealed his fate. Then they took out a tiny music box, and they kissed. A while later, they were lying in bed, wondering what would have happened if they had not met when they had. They both agreed that they had been destined to be together and would have eventually met at some point in their lives.

A fantasy unfolded as Bo was in the Blue Note Bar, talking with a friend, played by Michael Buble. Bo turned to leave the bar and passed Hope, who was on her way in. A few minutes later, Bo returned and complained that someone had hit his bike. He found out that it was Hope, who of course, in the fantasy, was a complete stranger to him. His friend told him to go and ask the girl to dance. Bo went and introduced himself, and Hope apologized for hitting his bike. She handed him her father's business card and told him to call with the cost of repairs to his bike. Before he headed to another room, Bo's friend suggested again that Bo dance with the girl. As the song "That's All" started to play, Bo asked "Princess" to dance, telling her it was payment for his bike. They headed for the dance floor to dance, and when the song was over, she kissed him.

Back in real time in Green Mountain Lodge, they two lovebirds were sure that if they had not met when they had, it would surely have happened sooner or later. Then Bo and Hope got out of the bed, both wrapped in their sheets, and danced.

2/19 Shawn returned from the airport and took another pill to ease the pain of missing Belle. Alice saw him pop the pill, and he covered. She sensed that something was wrong and called Bo and Hope, who were still enjoying their romantic getaway at Green Mountain Lodge. Bo saw Hope's concern, and they went home. Larry, still in the basement, overheard Alice and Shawn talking and realized Shawn was taking the poison pills. When Bo and Hope got home, Shawn lost his temper that Alice had called them. They thought he was frazzled because he hadn't been able to stop Belle from leaving. Bo got called away to the station with urgent news about Larry; his prints had been on the matchbook that Bo had found, proving that Larry was indeed alive. Alice seemed to be out of sorts a bit, because of the gas, and Hope told Alice she should spend the night.

2/20 Hope, Alice, and Shawn all awoke with terrible headaches from the carbon monoxide. Alice went home, and Bo called Shawn into the police station after Roman reported to Bo that the broken tuxedo stud had belonged to the tux rented by Shawn. Bo and Roman argued over procedure, and Bo begged his brother to keep mum until Bo could talk to Shawn, but Roman refused to be part of a cover-up. Shawn felt the walls closing in and took the remaining tainted pills, causing him to lose control emotionally and physically.

Back at the house, Larry increased the gas flow into the house after hearing that the police were closing in on him. Hope was very sick, and Belle helped her out a little. When Belle went upstairs to get her some medicine, Larry revealed himself, and Hope realized he was not a vision but the real Larry Welch.

2/21 Shawn was rushed to University Hospital after collapsing at Salem Police Station from the poison pills. Roman became suspicious at hearing Rex tell Cassie that families protected one another "no matter what." However, he was overwhelmed with shock at what he had overheard Shawn tell Bo. Concerned at his son's out-of-control behavior, Bo lovingly reassured Shawn while trying to learn why he had turned to drugs. Shawn said that he had taken Hope's pills to alleviate stress. Fighting the admission, Shawn finally confessed that he had killed Colin.

Holding Belle and Hope at gunpoint in the Brady house, Welch forced Belle into sealing them in the house as Hope collapsed from the fumes. As he cuffed Belle to a banister, he threatened to shoot them if they screamed. However, as he left, he was overtaken by the fumes and collapsed in the basement.

2/24 Bo heads home to check on Hope, but he's sidetracked when he spots Larry heading for the sewer. As Bo gives chase after Larry, Shawn sneaks out of the hospital, unaware that Roman overheard the confession he made to Bo. Shawn rushes home and finds the doors jammed; he smashes in a window and helps rescue Belle and Hope. When Roman learns that Shawn has left the hospital, he puts an APB out, only to discover that Shawn is at his parents' house. Bo returns, having captured Larry. Bo kisses his Fancy Face and Roman arrives and has Larry carted away to jail. As Shawn is professing his love for Belle, Roman is forced to arrest Shawn for the murder of Colin Murphy.

2/25 Still reeling from carbon monoxide poisoning, Hope and Belle followed Shawn to the Salem PD where he was arrested by Roman. Convinced that Shawn was protecting her, Hope pleaded that she did it while he was booked for murder. Bo argued points of justice and the system with Abe and Roman - most angry with Roman for choosing his job over family. As he recounted the night of Colin's murder to Mickey and Bo, Shawn described how he shot Colin in the back. With that, Bo declared that he would prove Shawn didn't kill Colin.

2/27 Bo shows up at the cop shop and wants to know where Mickey is, after Abe explains and Shawn says no one can help him, Bo asks him to again tell him of that night. Bo tells him forensics doesn't back up his statement, Abe agrees. Forensics says Colin was shot at close range in the stomach; Shawn shot him from a distance in the back. Bo believes Shawn on what he saw, but tells him he is innocent. Shawn still isn't convinced; he tells Bo that he killed Colin to protect him. Abe tells him he has a defense; he shot Colin to protect his father. Shawn isn't buying it "I killed an unarmed man, I'm guilty of murder."

Hope arrives and tries to help in the effort to get Shawn to plead not guilty. Bo tells his theory of what happened and the reason he is not guilty. Bo believes Shawn shot at him, but thinks he missed him. Shawn never checked for a bullet. He saw Colin was dead and ran. Bo tells him a gun was never found, someone else picked up the gun shot Colin again and ran. Shawn still refuses to plead not guilty. He has to stand up for what he did, be a man, a Brady. The guard arrives to escort Shawn to the courtroom.

Henderson shows up with the morning paper that announces Shawn’s arrest, Victor wants to talk to Bo. Henderson informs him that Bo is on the terrace trying to find more clues. Victor denounces the fact that Shawn could have killed Colin, all the while looking at Nicole who stands just inside the door. Bo tells him that Shawn may have fired a gun at Colin, but he didn't kill him, another gunman was present and shot the lethal bullet. Bo tries to re-enact the fateful night, but has to leave for Shawn's arraignment. Victor tells him he'll help in any way he can. Once Bo leaves Nicole comes out to the terrace. Victor tells her she needs to panic because his grandson will not take the blame for her crime. Back inside the house, Victor de

mands Nicole tell him exactly how the shooting went down. He promises that Shawn will not go down for her crime. Nicole tells all: Colin was laying in the snow with a gun beside him, she picks it up. Colin gets up and wants the gun back; she refuses and asks him to stop the blackmailing. He refuses, they struggle and she fires the gun into his stomach, he falls and she runs. Victor wants the gun and knows she has it, hiding it from everyone. She doesn't want to get it and he tells her again that Shawn is not going to take the fall for her. Nicole returns with the murder weapon and tells Victor she picked up the shell casings. Victor sees the casing with Bo's name on it and leaves. Henderson tells her that Victor went to the police station. Nicole thinks he is turning her in and panics. He goes to see Larry.

2/28 As family and friends gathered in the courtroom for Shawn's arraignment, Bo & Hope begged their son to plead "not guilty." Despondent and feeling responsible for the crime, Shawn insisted that Mickey enter a "guilty" plea, causing a hysterical outbreak by Belle. After the Judge ordered her out, Shawn re-thought and quietly changed his plea to "not guilty." A furious Bo reminded Roman about not confirming forensic evidence before booking Shawn. An excited Roman now realized that Shawn would have to go to trial to prove his innocence. Denied bail and denied visits from anyone but his attorney, Shawn returned to jail as he told his parents that he loved them more than ever and entrusted Belle to them.

Victor had brought Larry the bullet shell casing with Bo's name on it and a deal. Larry was told to either say he killed Colin or be killed himself in jail by Victor. Although he recalled his past dealings with Kiriakis and was reluctant to help the Brady's, Welch seemed prepared to talk to Abe per Victor's instructions.

3/3 Bo and Hope are determined to find the real killer, but are still angry with Roman for arresting Shawn. Abe calls and asks them all to get to the station immediately, where he fills them in on Larry's confession. Bo and Hope visit Shawn and tell him the good news. In the meantime, Victor and Nicole plant Colin's gun on the grounds of the mansion and Larry tells Roman where the murder weapon is (based on what Victor told him). Victor watches from the house as Roman and Abe find the gun exactly where Larry said it would be. He reminds Nicole he saved her big time and now he really does own her.

3/4 At the Salem PD, an argument between D.A. Carson Palmer and Bo was cut short when Abe and Roman arrived. Larry's confession to killing Colin concurred with forensic tests on the found gun on Kiriakis property. Based on the new developments and Roman's persuasive arguments in Shawn's defense, the D.A. agreed to reconsider charges and release Shawn immediately. Bo had to convince Hope to face her recurring fears about staying in the house after remembering Welch nearly killed her there.

3/10 Bo visits Larry in his cell. Larry snarks about Hope being crazy and taunts Bo about her never recovering, Larry impersonates a disturbed Hope seeing dead Larry. Bo grabs him by the neck through the bars and threatens him to leave his family alone or Bo will kill him. Roman and Abe have to pull Bo off when they arrive. Roman suggests they get this clown to court and get him out of their lives once and for all. As they walk away, Larry smiles to himself, “Don’t bet on it!”. Meanwhile, Hope arrives at the court with Jack and Jennifer.
