Bo & Hope #55 June 24 - November 4, 2003: 8 hour original edit
DVD #55A As Larry Welch was being transferred to another jail, the transport car was forced to stop for a woman's body on the road. As the guards assisted a well-disguised Nicole, Larry was escaping the car according to a synchronized plan. Moments later the car exploded, and as the guards checked the wreckage, Larry, Nicole and the henchman were driving away.
Advising Hope that the bad economy caused a loss of her trust fund, Mrs. Horton offered to make them a loan but refused. While Hope told Bo about their lack of funds, Ramsell called from jail threatening Bo's life.
6/27 Bo surprises Hope with dangling car keys. He whisks her over to see their new black SUV. No sooner had Bo & Hope gotten their new vehicle but Bo received a call with a new bounty lead. Bo reports that Abe gave a report about them bringing in Vin and that gave them this job. Hope celebrates that they are going to be famous! Bo teases her about wanting donuts and the 2,000 extra calories. She points out that donuts are a must for a stake out and suggestively points out that they can work it off later! They take off in pursuit but in trying to apprehend the bounty, the are overcome by a number of thugs. Forced to surrender their guns, they were chained together with little hope of escape.
6/30 Jesse and his perps leave Bo and Hope chained together with car exhaust beating down on their faces. Bo and Hope wiggle out of their chairs, then use oil to slip out of their bonds. As they bust out of the garage, they learn that Jesse's taken off with their new hybrid SUV. Now, Bo and Hope are out for blood.
7/2 Bo and Hope are eating at the Brady Pub. They get a call from Tommy, that Jesse is trying to sell their SUV. Hope is upset when Bo informs Hope that the Fancy Face is sold as she thought they were going to do it together. Bo explains that he got an offer he couldn't refuse and wanted to save Hope from any more heartbreak over the selling of their boat. Victor comes in to the Pub and breaks the news of Larry's death to the Bradys. They are happy and relieved, just hoping it is true. Hope takes Zack upstairs while Bo and Victor talk awhile. Victor heard about their new job and wonders why Bo never asked him for money. Bo told him that he doesn't want to take anything from anyone; if it doesn't work out they can reassess their jobs and do something else.
7/8 At the Echelon Club, Bo and Hope were undercover trying to recover their stolen SUV and the thief.
7/9 At Echelon, Hope is concerned that Tommy found Bo's earpiece in the parking lot and Jesse, the bail jumper, is in the club. Hope and Tommy decide to go with the original plan. Tommy pretends he wants to buy the "hot" car and Jesse takes him outside. Hope follows, but is detained by a curious Lucas, who wants to know what she's doing there?
Bo appears in the back seat of the car, seeming to have the drop on Jesse. But Jesse recognized Hope, and knew Bo would show up, and he has a gun aimed at Tommy, threatening his life. He makes Bo get on the floor and has Tommy drive them to an alley, where he plans to kill them both of them. Hope, having gotten away from Lucas, sees the car drive off and follows. Just as Jesse is about to shoot Bo, Hope honks the horn, providing a distraction and enabling Bo to overpower Jesse, save Tommy's life and get their car back!
7/14 At the Brady Pub, Bo and Hope, proud of Shawn's role in bringing Maya down, pester him about his recent adventures. John arrives and has an emotional reunion with his daughter. Later, Bo and Hope are intrigued about the mysterious substance that Maya and Tony were after. Bo and Hope decide privately they're going to solve the mystery of the goop.
7/17 Hope tries to learn more about Maya's goop from Shane at the ISA, learning that ISA's analysis has not revealed everything about the substance. She and Bo play a guessing game about the powers of the goop. Bo has a surprise for her and takes her up to the hospital rooftop for a romantic vantage point to watch the bicentennial fireworks.
7/18 Larry is trying to make an escape and crashes his car.
7/21 Bo and Hope continue their romantic night watching the fireworks from the hospital roof. Bo gets a one-way call, tells Hope he's got a lead on that mysterious goop that's connected to Maya/Tony. Bo's going to follow up. Hope protests and wants to go with him. Bo assures her it's just boring legwork, but if he comes up with anything solid, he'll call her and she can join him. They end up in a romantic dance on the rooftop with the promise of going home and making love.
7/23 Larry begins to point towards Nicole when Abe asks him who his accomplice is, Brady gives Nicole a strange look and says he is pointing at you, but when Abe turns around to look, he sees Hope standing behind him. Her face shows many emotions, scared, disbelief, and anger. Larry whispers that he wants to talk to Hope alone. Brady and Nicole leave, Abe tells Hope that there are two police officers right outside if she needs them. The private conversation doesn't last very long, Hope basically tells Larry that he will never hurt her family again and he is going to die like he lived, violently. She wishes him to hell. Larry tries to get the upper hand and still scare her by grabbing her arm, unfortunately, for him, his strength doesn't last long and Mr. Welch takes his final breath.
Hope stands in shock as the doctors rush in for the Code Blue. Nicole and Brady hear the Code Blue, she sees Hope walking out of the ER and wants to know if Larry said anything, she is scared he told about her involvement, but Hope tells her he is dead. Hope decides to leave and get Zack; she came for what she wanted. Hope stops by Alice's to tell her about Larry really dying this time. They chat for a bit and Hope leaves for home.
7/24 Jack and Jennifer come in from a morning jog and prepare to go upstairs and shower when the doorbell rings, it is Hope and Shawn. They tell Jack and Jen about Larry finally being dead and trying to kill Victor. Shawn has to leave for the gym and class, he tells Jack and Jen that he is going to major in pre-law, they are proud of him and he leaves. Jennifer gets another call about a talk show guest canceling at the last minute.
She gets an idea and asks Hope to come on the show and talk about the bounty hunting and her experiences with Larry. Maybe a female out there watching has the same worries and she can be of help to her. Hope reluctantly agrees. The show goes wonderfully. Bo calls after it ends and tells Hope he has leads and will let her know more. Jack and Jennifer are excited and want to do more real journalism on the show, they decide to talk with Barry.
7/30 Shawn comes home to find Bo without Hope. Slightly confused Bo thought she was back in Salem. Shawn says Hope received a call from Bo after Jack and Jennifer's show and caught a flight out of Salem. Bo left her a message telling her to stay in Salem. He guesses she didn't get it. They're concerned that she's alone in a dangerous place. Then Bo and Shawn receive a call from Hope but before Bo can get her location the line breaks up and he's disconnected. Bo says Hope found the source of the mysterious substance (the goop). He has an idea how they can find out where Hope is, but he's going to need Shawn's help.
Later, Bo and Shawn show up and question Maya. Unfortunately she doesn't shed much light on Hope's whereabouts as Bo and Shawn learn she received the goop from a mysterious Native American she and Tony met. The man gave her the latitude coordinate and Tony the longitude, forcing them to work together. And now that Tony's in a coma, neither one will be able to find the substance. Shawn asks to speak to Maya alone, in which he asks her to do the right thing.
During this, Bo asks an officer for a favor. Bo hears raised voices in the conference room and enters finding Shawn demanding Maya tell him the location of the substance. Bo tells Shawn he has a lead and won't be needing Maya anymore. The officer has brought Bo Maya's possessions and he finds the latitude coordinate in her compact. All he has to do is get the longitude and he'll find out exactly where his Fancy Face is.
7/31 Bo comes to Jack and Jennifer for help locating the coordinate that Tony had. He believes it will lead him to missing Hope. Jack and Jennifer invite Tony's associate, Bart, to be on their show, hoping to search through his possessions while he's occupied. There's a close call when Bart falters while singing a song and requests his PDA which contains the lyrics. Jennifer comes to his rescue and sings a duet, allowing Bo to finally get the information he needs to find Hope.
8/4 Bo entered a store on an Indian reservation expecting to find Hope. He started showing her picture around and a man said she looked familiar, but was no help. Bo then went to the manager who stated he had not seen her. When Bo mentioned the woman was from Salem, a light went on in the man's eyes. Bo's caught the look of realization and inquired who he knew from Salem. After a quick description, Bo knew the man was talking about Maya. He asked the man how he knew her and the he explained that she was from the reservation and that their grandmothers knew each other. Bo asked if the he had ever sold Maya anything and the man said no.
Bo explained that the coordinates were bought and that Hope had followed them to the reservation and that he couldn't find her. Bo played nice and bought some moccasins from the man to butter him up. The manager empathized with Bo and said that he had lost a son to a sickness, so he knew how Bo felt. While they talked, Bo noticed security cameras and asked to view the tapes to see if Hope had been there. Bo saw Hope on the tapes and hounded the manager again until a lady behind the counter told him that Hope had left with Belinda to go to a cave. The manager refused to take Bo there out of fear, but Bo threatened to call in the ISA. The manager relented and he and Bo left to go to the cave to look for Hope.
8/5 Bo was reunited with Hope at a cave containing the mysterious lava. Revealing that Maya's ancestors were from his tribe, Cree's dealings to sell the property was intended to aid his people. As part of sacred Indian Land, the sale had to be done in secret. And so, arrangements had been made for payment in diamonds instead of cash. A message from Shawn advised Bo that the lava was a natural explosive, more deadly than dynamite. The Brady's couldn't convince Cree to reconsider. As he called Lucas to finalize the sale, Bo and Hope found themselves bound and at gunpoint.
8/6 Bo and Hope are tied together in the sacred cave. As they work to free themselves from their bonds, they vow that they will never be separated again. Great series of flashbacks of her fateful failed wedding to Larry, then her “death” in Ernesto’s cage, and a few more great clips of key Bo & Hope moments.
Finally, they free themselves and are determined to find a way to prevent Cree from selling the volatile and dangerous goop to the DiMeras. They know Cree needs the money for his tribe, but Hope has an idea and makes a call. She reveals that the proceeds from the fashion show plus very generous donations from the Horton Foundation and the hospital will be given to help Cree's sick tribe. He won't have to sell the substance.
Bo's still worried. Knowing that it's here, he thinks Tony will still try to get the goop. Bo has a plan. He and Hope sneak into the reservation store and gather alcohol and cleaning equipment. Hope sees the little girl she was with before and assures her everything will be all right. Cree arrives to take the girl home, narrowly missing seeing Hope. Bo and Hope rush back to the cave, where Bo fashions a homemade bomb to detonate and destroy the goop. Bo lights a makeshift fuse as he, Hope hightail it out of the cave. Cree arrives just in time to see the bomb and goop explode, showering Bo and Hope's bodies with debris.
8/8 At the Brady Pub, Bo and Hope were met by Lucas, who was furious at their ruining his deal with the Cree Indians. Rex's fury at giving Tony's money away, prompted Lucas to tell him that Bo & Hope were instrumental in stopping the DiMera / Cree deal.
Jack and Jenn host a fashion show with many of Salem’s residents, Bo, Hope, Lexi, Shawn, Belle ext all model. The enjoyment of Salem's residents turned models ended abruptly when the lights blacked out. Once power was restored, Belle's scream alerted everyone to Bo and Hope's bloodied bodies on the floor.
8/11 At the fashion show, Bo and Hope lay on the runway in pools of blood. Simultaneous yells of "Call 911!" were heard and John held Shawn back as he struggled to help his ailing parents. Lexi's medical instincts kicked in and she checked for pulses while in the background Rex found what appeared to be blood on the sleeve of his shirt.
Everyone on the stage frantically discussed who they thought could've done such a thing to Bo and Hope. The collective crowd explained to the EMTs that Belle and Kate were receiving flowers when there was a blackout and when the lights came back on Bo and Hope were unconscious on the floor. Shawn left to go in the ambulance with his parents, as EMT’s take them to the hospital where they are wheeled into the trauma unit (Note: sound drops out for a minute during the scene when they are brought into the hospital).
8/12 Although Bo had come through surgery, the doctors were unable to determine Hope's chances for survival. A despondent and angry Shawn was joined by Belle and Alice in the hospital chapel to pray for Hope. As Alice asked her husband, Tom, for a sign, the steady flicker of a candle began to struggle to stay lit. At the same moment, Hope's monitor flatlined.
8/13 Hope is flatlining as Bo implores Hope to continue fighting for her life. Shawn, Belle and Alice are in the hospital chapel praying for Hope. Hope miraculously makes it! After the trio learn that Hope will live, Alice thanks God! Shawn later visits his mom. Later, Bo crawls into bed with Hope.
8/15 As Hope regained her speech, and was later reunited with Zack, Roman surprised the Brady couple with his suspicions of the Count's possible involvement.
8/20 Jack and Jennifer visited Hope and Bo in the hospital. The guys left Jennifer and Hope alone to talk while they had their own little conversation outside the hospital room. Jennifer told Hope about Jack trying to get back into investigative reporting and how he hoped that he could get a job working for the New York Times. Also, she reassured Hope that Jack was no longer the old Jack but rather a new one and that their sex life had gotten a lot better.
8/21 Bo and Hope were thrilled to be released from the hospital. Hope does not want to come back to the hospital until her grandchildren are born! Bo says he will take Hope home and get her settled but then will come back to the hospital and he plans on staying in DiMera’s face until they find out who attacked them.
Maggie had fills them in on Alice has been having premonitions in her sleep about something bad happening. While they were there visiting, Alice noticed that Bo and Hope's wedding picture was missing, and when it turned up later in a drawer, she swore that she had never moved it. The picture of Tom was upside down, and also the candle Alice had lit for Bo and Hope had gone out. Celeste stopped by to donate money to the Horton Foundation, and she and Alice got bad vibes about something terrible happening to Bo and Hope. John calls Bo and lets him know that Tony is being released from the hospital. Bo & Hope immediately head to the hospital and warned Tony that he wouldn't get away with anything.
8/22 Bo and Hope debated about Tony's possible implication in their attack. Startled when the front door flew open on its own, Bo denied omens. Cree phoned, grateful that their assistance assured that DiMera would not misuse the mysterious substance. Deciding on taking down Tony, Bo recommended applying for a security guard job and leaving Zack with his parents. Once the lights were out for the night, the couple was unaware of a shadowy figure outside the front door.
8/25 Hope wandered into her bathroom to brush her hair and suggested to Bo that they both take Zack to the Brady's the next day. The fact that there was a silence in response bothered her and Hope looked out the open window to look for Bo. Feeling spooked, she crept down the dark stairway to the living room below. Bo tapped her on the shoulder from behind and she became angry that he had scared her. In her fear, she realized that Bo was calm and quickly figured out that Bo was scared also. He reassured her that he would protect their family no matter what and they climbed the stairs to check on their son.
Outside, a shadow passed over the door and as they entered their bedroom, they heard a loud noise coming from the open window. Bo rushed to pull a gun out from under the bed and he headed downstairs to check out the noise. After a few minutes, Hope heard a noise. She grabbed a heavy statue and hid behind the door, but then realized it was only Bo and they hugged. Bo explained that the only way to stop their stalker was to capture him. They agreed to put their Bounty Hunting business on hold, but both spoke logically about the fact that they may have money problems. Hope surprised Bo by telling him that her stock portfolio was beginning to earn them good money again, but he recanted that the money the portfolio derived was for their boys. They discussed a local security guard job and Bo said that keeping the family together was all that mattered. He slipped in his idea that he would leave Hope home taking care of Zack while he went out on the streets looking for their attacker.
8/26 After nearly losing Hope, Bo decided to look for their attacker alone in order to protect her. Hope exclaims that getting hit in the head must have affected her hearing as she thinks she just heard him suggest that he will go after their attacker alone! She tells him if he thinks he is doing this alone while she stays home, he has another thing coming. He reminds her that she almost died, actually she DID die and that terrifying moment that the heart monitor flat lined and the doctor telling him that she was gone. He refuses to allow that to happen again. She warns him they almost took her away from him and her children and this makes this her fight too. The two argued and Bo goes downstairs to sleep on the couch to be the first line of defense to protect his family. Upstairs, Hope tosses and turns and throws her slipper when she can’t sleep. It knocks over a picture of her and Bo together.
Hope comes downstairs as she can’t sleep. Bo goes up to her and tells her that talking is over rated and starts kissing her as the shadowy figure watches through the windows of their living room door.
8/27 Alice notices Tom’s picture moving and asks him what he is trying to tell her? Alice hears the distorted sound of children laughing and playing outside her bedroom window. When she looks out, no one is there. Alice dreams Bo and Hope's picture falling off the table and shattering the glass as Alice looks at it horrified.
DVD #55B 9/2 Alice heard the creepy evil children chanting again. She looked at Tom’s picture and asked him to make it stop. She was then visited by a vision of Tom and asked him if his warning was of something terrible to come.
9/3 Hope and Bo ran into a cash flow problem and both reveled that they had been saving money. Bo wanted to use the money he had saved to buy Hope a designer winter coat, while Hope wanted to use the money she had saved to buy Bo boots for his birthday. Neither one will be able to purchase the gifts because both secretly give Shawn the money since he was moving into the loft that night. Bo and Hope were surprised that he was moving into the loft across the hall from Belle, because they thought he was going to be living in the dorm for the school year. However, both were supported of his decision.
9/12 Maggie tells Jennifer that there is evil in Salem with everything that has been happening to their friends and family lately. She says that suddenly Salem is not a very safe place to be. Maggie later points out to Mickey that she doesn’t think anything is wrong with Alice, as Abe also saw his dead father’s ghost.
Bo and Hope returned to the Studio where they'd been attacked, looking for clues. Arriving for the same reason, Abe mentioned that Roman would soon become Police Commander. Abe said he needed them to work together on this case to watch his back. As the three talked, a black-gloved hand pushed the stage curtain aside to watch them. But Abe's invitation to re-join the Salem P.D. came as more of surprise because of his ominous choice of words, not when he leaves but when he goes.
Bo & Hope show up at Alice’s as the whole family is worried about her seeing Tom’s ghost and hearing things. Jennifer is worried about Jack as she hasn’t heard from him and he is working under cover on a story. Jennifer leaves a picture of Jack lying on the table and it goes up in flames.
9/17 While Bo and Hope discussed returning to their jobs at the police department, Bo lamented that he hated giving up bounty hunting so soon after starting, but that he didn't want to turn down Abe. Both agree that Abe must truly need protection if he asked them to watch his back. The phone rang and Bo answered to find Tommy, his informant, on the line. He told Bo that the word on the street was that someone was trying to buy an untraceable gun. Bo asked who the target was and Tommy replied that it was someone big and that it would be front page when it went down. He told Bo that those types of guns cost a lot of money and were very hard to find.
As they hung up, Bo worried that some possible targets would be Abe and Jack because they were both close to completing their big case and story. However, Hope had another fear. She wondered if the mystery shooter would be gunning for her and Bo!
Reassurance from Bo didn't seem to help, but he promised that they would be ready to protect themselves and their friends and family. Soon there was a knock at the door. Roman entered the house and told Bo and Hope about Abe's impending retirement. Bo then briefed Roman about the situation with the untraceable gun and the four possible targets: Abe, Jack, Bo and Hope. Roman calmed them by stating that they'd get the gun buyer, but Bo said matter-of-factly that "if someone really wants to commit a murder, no one can stop them."
9/18 Bo and Hope woke up early in bed and weighed their options in returning to the police force. Bo stated that he was leaning toward returning and Hope admitted that she was excited about the prospect. As Hope leaned in to kiss Bo, he guessed by the look in her eye that she was interested in having another baby!
Just then, the phone rang and Hope leapt over Bo to answer it. Lexie asked Hope to meet her at Salem Place before the christening for some last minute purchases. Bo agreed to meet Hope at the church and they set off on their separate ways. As Lexie and Hope strolled through Salem Place, Lexie gnawed at her fingernails and Hope attempted to calm her down thinking she was jittery about the upcoming christening service.
9/19 Hope arrives at the church ahead of Theo’s Christening and Celeste exclaims thank god that Hope is there! She anxiously asked where Lexie and Abe were. She tells her that she had a horrible vision, a premonition of Abe dying at the stroke of 12:00. Lexie comes in and overhears this dire prophecy. Hope reassures her that the vision could have been symbolic and this is a happy occasion.
At Salem Place, Bo caught Roman shopping for a costly engagement ring. Bo wants to know when he is going to propose. Roman denies he is thinking about proposing. Bo reminds his brother to not let Sami get in the way of his happiness. Bo stops by Abe’s, and Abe opens the door with his gun drawn. Bo is glad he is taking all necessary precautions since he has taken on so many dangerous cases. Abe is relieved that Bo and Hope are back working at the PD, he is comforted to know they will be there to take care of things.
At St. Luke's, as guests gathered at the Church, Bo was suspicious when Tony signaled Rex, and the two made excuses to step away.
9/22 Lexi reaches Abe and tells him not to come to the church until after 12:00. She tells him he can’t leave now as it is 11:55 and it is too late. The church bells began to ring and everyone paused. The Brady family entered and wondered why everyone was so somber. Lexie ecstatically explained that it was finally after twelve and told John about Celeste's premonitions. She then went outside to try to reach Abe on her cell phone. Back at the Carver's home, Abe lay motionless on the sidewalk. Lexi desperately tries to call Abe after 12:00 but he doesn’t answer. Hope continues to reassure her not to worry that Abe will be there any minute.
9/25 John and Roman decide to go look for Abe. They find him bleeding on the ground in front of his house. Bo & Hope arrive soon after and are horrified. John and Bo tried to save Abe by administering CPR before the paramedics arrived. Once the paramedics arrived they took Abe, who was still alive to the hospital. Lexie was still at the church when Roman came and broke the news to her about Abe being shot and that it did not look good. Abe had a considerable amount of blood loss so he is critical condition. Lexie informs everyone that Abe is stable and that he is being taken to surgery. Alice receives a message from Tom about how the terrible things are not over with just yet.
Roman tells the group that he will pull all of the cases that Abe has been working on. Jennifer is worried as Jack has been working on the same cases. Jack offers to use himself as bait, though Jennifer says absolutely not. Roman asks Bo to go back to the crime scene and work on the investigation.
9/26 Outside the Carver house, Bo reviewed forensic evidence. Based on findings of a point blank shot at close range, Bo deduced Abe's attacker could be someone who knew about his recent precautions since he was shot in the neck, as if the shooter knew he was wearing a vest. Adding to John's assumption of an amateur gunman, Bo observed that Abe must have known his attacker, since there was no evidence of his drawing his weapon. Later, evidence from inside the house, including detailed records of all Abe's cases including conversations were brought to Roman but forensic results produced a smashed bullet perhaps unable to be traceable.
9/29 At the hospital, a roomful of people was asked to leave as Abe writhed in pain on the bed. Lexie sat with Abe while he struggled to tell John, Roman, Bo and Hope who his shooter was. Outside the room Maggie and Mickey arrived and asked how Abe was doing, while inside Abe whispered out Maggie and pointed at her in the window. No one could understand why Abe would have called out Maggie's name. Bo left the room to have one of the cops download all the data from Abe's PDA.
Meanwhile, Lexie tried to probe more clues out of Abe, but then Abe went into cardiac arrest and the monitors flat lined. Doctors and nurses rushed into the room while Lexie watched in horror. They tried to revive Abe several times, but finally said that they had done all they could do. Lexie became hysterical and Hope and Bo tried to pull her away from Abe. Roman and John looked on silently as the nurse covered Abe with a sheet. Hope stayed with Lexie while the men went to the waiting room to tell the others the bad news. Bo told everyone the news about Abe's death.
9/30 Bo announced to those gathered that Abe's palm pilot could hold the name of the killer. Addressing them individually, Bo noted Abe's observations and Roman mentioned his appointment to Abe's post and that Bo, Hope and John would work to solve this case.
Preparing to begin their investigation, Roman, Bo and John arrived at the Carver house smelling something burning. When they found Abe's files had been destroyed Roman decided to follow their only clue, a matchbook from Tuscany.
10/1 Bo, John and Roman continue to try to solve Abe's murder. Roman invites Tek to join the Salem PD and he agrees. All are chagrined to find out John has planted a quote in the paper saying he knows who the killer is, purposefully making himself a target.
10/3 Outside Tuscany, Maggie heard children's voices similar to those Alice had heard. But instead of the Lizzie Borden rhyme, Maggie screamed hearing them chant:
Salem Stalker took a gun
And gave Abe Carver a deadly one.
When they saw what they had done
They gave Maggie Horton another one.
10/13 Jack walked through Salem Place, cut through the alley. He was suddenly struck from behind by a mysterious gloved hand. Jack fell to the ground unconscious. Maggie stopped short because she saw a trail of blood that led to Jack Deveraux! She screamed for help and Roman leapt into the alley to come to her rescue, only to find Jack sprawled on the ground. He yelled for Maggie to call the paramedics and then proceeded to try to revive Jack, whose breathing was shallow and ragged. John and Bo responded to Roman's page and Maggie tried to tell John what she had found when she walked into the alley.
Across the mall, Jennifer sat and talked to Hope about how worried she was about Jack. They had taken the day off and had planned to meet back up for lunch since Jack had an errand to run to pick up a gift for Jennifer. All of a sudden, a sharp pain seared through Jennifer's head and Hope hurried to find some medicine for her to take for an apparent headache. Jennifer admitted that it wasn't a headache and that she thought something was terribly wrong with Jack! She tried to call his cell phone, but got no answer. She began to panic and tried to call again, but Bo answered the phone! She quickly handed the phone to Hope, afraid to ask why Bo was answering Jack's phone. Hope asked Bo if anything was wrong and then whisked Jennifer off to the hospital to be with Jack.
Bo left the scene of the crime to question Nicole and Victor. As he entered the mansion, Victor invited him to stay for lunch, but Bo advised him that he was not there on a social call. He told him about Jack's accident and then promptly asked Victor for his alibi. Victor claimed that he had been in the wine cellar and that his cleaning crew could attest to that fact. He didn't know where Nicole was or had been, but on mention of her name, she miraculously appeared in the doorway and asked what crime her husband was trying to pin on her. She told Bo that she had heard about Jack when she was working out on her treadmill in front of the television, but Bo wasn't satisfied with their explanations. He headed for the stairs to search the house himself. When he returned, he told Nicole that according to the electronic log on her treadmill, it hadn't been used that day. He also revealed that Victor hadn't been in the wine cellar and that the back door that "hadn't been used in years" had apparently been used earlier in the day as the deadbolt had been freshly oiled and opened without a squeak! Bo ushered the two out the door for a round of questioning and blood typing at the hospital.
As Jennifer and Hope got to the hospital, they ran into Lexie, and Jennifer tearfully pleaded with her to save Jack's life. Jennifer blamed herself and told Hope that if Jack had gone on to the Spectator to work that day like usual he would still be there catching up on the day's news with Harold.
As the suspects stood in the lobby and waited for their blood typing, Jennifer spied them and angrily berated them for being there when Jack was probably going to die. Abby became upset, but Jennifer kept yelling until Lexie came out and asked to speak to her in private. Jennifer begged her not to say the words.
10/14 At University Hospital, Lexie delivered the tragic news that Jack had suffered a massive stroke. With surgery no longer an option, Jack was on a respirator.
Bo obtained Jack's PDA, finding files indicating that Jack had evidence. Fearful even for his own life, Jack's notes showed plans to confront the seven suspects, before the killer struck again. Each of the seven Suspects now at the hospital were interrogated by Roman, Bo and John about the last time they'd seen Jack. Jack had tried to "smoke out" the killer by presenting his accurate suspicions to each suspect and claiming to have witnesses or proof of evidence. The suspects stuck to their original alibis, and denied seeing or arguing with Jack. But quietly recalling their last conversations with him, each suspect also remembered the threats they had made if Jack revealed his evidence.
As family gathered in Jack's room, Abby begged her father not to die. When Lexie turned off the third life support switch, Jack died. As his spirit rose off the bed, Jack watched a weeping Jennifer cling to his lifeless body, and lovingly touched her shoulder. Jack then turned to those of us keeping watch at the foot of his bed, and with a Deveraux wink, Jack left Salem.
10/15 Maggie leaves the pub and there are two little girls jumping rope just outside. She hears the same childlike voices again chanting that she was going to be the next victim. She screams and everyone comes running, including the officer that is assigned to her.
Bo and Hope investigate the scene of Jack's attack. Hope tackles Bo to 'save' him from gunfire, which is actually a car backfiring. Bo hits his head on the ground and is temporarily out of it. Hope of course thinks the worse. Bo comes to, and the scene ends with her hugging him telling him how she could never be without him and that they are probably still on the killer's list.
10/17 At the Salem PD, Bo and Hope compared motivational profiles of serial killers to those on the Suspect List, realizing the profiles could fit any of them. The behavior patterns of:
• Out of Control and in Self-Denial matched Sami's desire to keep Brandon
• Doesn't consider their Conduct Asocial matched Kate's desire to keep her secret hooker past a secret from Roman
• Needs to Dominate and Control might be Lucas protecting his mother
• Irrational Goals could be Nicole who'd killed Colin and would blackmail Victor to kill for her
• Mission Oriented crossed with Power Control matched Tony, and Exercising Complete Control over their victims might be Victor protecting Nicole if just to protect the Kiriakis name
Bo learned that Eugenia Williams, a new Lab Tech, had leaked information to the Press. With public knowledge the brick would be tested by the FBI, Bo was sure the killer would attack again. Tek reported to Bo that all plain-clothes units had lost the suspects they were assigned to follow. All the suspects were missing.
At Jennifer's, Alice asked for a sign when she Tom appeared again. Looking down at a photo album, she saw Hope's picture fade away. Hope was delivering the brick to an abandoned Salem PD Evidence Room, when the lights suddenly went out. As she moved in the darkness, Hope was unaware of a figure about to attack with the brick.
10/20 At the police station, Bo left a phone message for Hope and wondered where she could be. He turned to leave, but stopped to talk to Roman first. They both noted how convenient it was that none of the suspects in Abe and Jack's murder cases had alibis during the murders, and how they had all slipped out of view of surveillance now that they were needed for testing regarding the brick that was new evidence.
Bo told Roman that they were close to nabbing the killer, and the two agreed that the closer they got, the more desperate and dangerous he or she would become. Bo worried about Hope because she was "out to save the world." He didn't want her to change, but wanted her to stay safe because the killer would undoubtedly try to finish the job. Bo answered a phone call from Alice who said she had a bad feeling that Hope was in trouble. Bo was sure that her granddaughter was alright, but then told Roman that he had known something was wrong since Hope hadn't arrived and Jennifer's yet.
Alice looked at a photo of Hope and watched as the image seemed to disappear right in front of her eyes. She asked Tom what he was trying to tell her, and asked him to keep their granddaughter safe.
In the evidence room, Hope struggled with a masked person and was thrown to the floor and knocked unconscious. The person rolled her over and then grabbed the brick that Hope had been signing in as evidence. He or she checked Hope's pulse and suddenly Hope jumped and tried to attack him. She pulled her gun and aimed it at the person from her perch on the floor. While she stood, she ordered the intruder to take off the mask. As she moved to grab her handcuffs, the mystery person grabbed her wrist and they fought for control of the gun.
Hope lost and she backed up and begged the person not to shoot. Just as the gun went off, Bo burst through the door and knocked the person out of the way. He pushed past and went to Hope who lay unconscious on the floor once again. As Hope came to, Bo helped her up and she explained that she must have hit her head on the floor. She told Bo that she had offered to take the brick to the evidence room and sign it in for another officer, but now the masked mystery person had stolen it. She couldn't make out who the person was, but said that now she was more convinced than ever that it was someone that they knew well. She said that since they didn't kill her this time she was sure that they would be back to finish the job.
Bo and Hope left to talk to Roman and Roman agreed that now that the killer had had a close call, they would be back. Bo and Roman remembered that all the suspects had been at the station for questioning and now he would have to call them all back in again. Hope left to go to Jennifer's house so that she wouldn't worry about her.
Bo and Hope arrived and Hope stopped to comfort Jennifer. Since she was tired, Hope offered to return the next day. As she and Bo turned to leave, Hope stopped and picked up a tarot card that Celeste had apparently dropped. Bo jokingly asked what their fortune was, but Hope looked alarmed as she told him it was the death card.
10/22 Jennifer tells Hope that Maggie may know who the killer is and have some unconscious memory. Hope says Maggie needs extra protection, and agrees to escort Maggie to Marlena's office. Hope and John discuss Maggie's risk at being the next victim, and Hope points out that John is a suspect as well. John says that the stalker must be an amateur, and with John's training, he's ready to take on any one of them.
10/24 In Marlena's office, Maggie's hypnosis session is traumatic and she begins crying and screaming in terror. The session was interrupted when Hope stepped in. While Marlena wanted to end the session, Hope suggested an interrogation technique drawing her memory. Maggie's drawing, a pair of eyes with highlighted brows, frightened Hope as she remembered the same eyes in the Evidence Room. Leaving Maggie to rest, Marlena rushed away to answer a page.
10/27 Mickey and Hope stood outside Maggie's hospital room, Mickey shares with Hope that Maggie saw Tom’s ghost and he uttered her name, and the same thing happened to Abe before he was murdered.
As she came to, Maggie opened her eyes as a dark black-hooded figure climbed through her window and met the glare of the masked figure. Seeing the eyes through the mask she cried out, "It's you. I saw you. You killed Abe, and you killed Jack!”. She began screaming and jumped up to try to escape. The Salem Stalker held a scalpel up and it shined in the moonlight. Maggie's door was stuck and she was unable to get it open. Hope and Mickey heard her screams, but were also unsuccessful in opening the door. Finally they kicked it open and found Maggie alone, but unconscious on the floor.
Hope felt for a pulse, hoping she wasn't too late and found that Maggie had fainted. As she regained consciousness, Maggie kept muttering about the eyes. She tried to tell Hope and Mickey what had happened, and Hope noticed that the window was open. She looked outside, but found no one, however, she did notice that the dust on the windowsill had been recently unsettled. As Maggie relived the horror, Hope connected the event to her own struggle in the evidence room and decided that Maggie had had an encounter with the killer. As Maggie settled into bed, Hope warned Mickey that since the killer hadn't finished the job that night, he'd inevitably be back. Hope posted an officer outside Maggie's door, and then left to meet Jennifer at the Pub.
When Hope arrived, she met Sami and Lucas and started interrogating them on their whereabouts when Maggie's "visitor" had been in her hospital room. They both said they had been together, and Hope assured them that the truth would come out. She then went to speak to Jennifer, who tried to tell her about seeing Jack's ghost. Even though Hope was skeptical, Jennifer insisted that Jack had brought a message: that the Salem Stalker was planning another attack right then. Belle, who had just entered with Shawn said, "I knew it."
10/28 Hope calls Mickey and asks him to meet her at the pub as she has news he needs to hear. When Mickey arrived, he shocked Caroline, Jennifer and Hope when he recounted Maggie's vision of Jack. While Hope called it stress, Jennifer was convinced that two people having the same vision was no coincidence.
Maggie shows up at the pub and was greeted by worried family members, she was relieved to learn that Jen had also seen Jack. Maggie's appreciation for everyone's help turned to tears as she believes Jack's visit meant she should prepare to die. Maggie determined there was nothing anyone could do about it. At that moment, the lights in the Pub began to flicker, frightening everyone.
10/29 Bo and Hope see that Maggie was featured in the newspaper, and this worries them. Hope is sure the killer will go after Maggie again. Philip comes in, convinced he knows who the killer is. Philip explains that Rex has been acting weird, and Rex said that the killer won't be caught; he or she is obviously smarter than the police. Philip tells Hope and Bo about following Rex to each of the crime scenes, and then Rex mysteriously disappeared.
Bo and Hope are discussing the drawing of the killers eyes, and John says he doesn't need that to know who the killer is. His money is on Rex DiMera. John thinks Stefano created a killing machine.
10/30 John is trying to convince Bo that Rex is a ticking time bomb. Bo is concerned about other suspects; Tony, Victor, and he doesn't want to commit yet to Rex being #1 suspect. Bo and Hope tell John about Philips visit and how Philip followed Rex to each of the crime scenes. John remembers Philip saying he was close to Cassie, and was working on her and Rex and he had the best shot at getting close to Rex.
Sean walks in and disagrees, he's Rex's roommate, he's the man for the job. Hope absolutely wants Sean to have nothing to do with this investigation, he doesn't need to be a target too. Sean tells his mom that if Rex is the killer, its already too late, Rex would already have it in for him. This upsets Hope further. Sean thinks Rex is getting more confident now that he passed the lie detector test, and is bound to slip up. John comes in and tells Bo and Hope that Marlena reported that Rex just visited her and he is not himself and has had some further deterioration. John is worried that Marlena could be a target as she is helping Maggie to remember who the killer is. Hope worries to Bo that if Rex is the serial killer, that Sean is in danger.
11/3 As a dark figure with a hockey mask appeared in the fog and approached Maggie’s home, they relived the memory of shooting Abe Carver, and then hitting Jack Deveraux with a brick. Suddenly they saw the image of Maggie in the hospital room trying to get away and took out a photo of Maggie and ripped it to shreds.
Later that night, Maggie went downstairs to read the paper in the kitchen. She put the paper down and noticed a friend outside the door after they had removed their mask. She was happy that someone had stopped by to see how she was, and turned away to turn off the alarm. As she opened the door, she let the person inside and shut the door behind them.
11/4 At the Salem PD, Hope was confident about Maggie's safety after the Police Detail had confirmed it. But Bo was furious that, once again, all seven suspects were missing. Hope found a message appear on the computer saying, "Want to see my next Victim?"
Hope called Mickey who confirmed all was well at home. But at the PD computer the message "Death comes unexpectedly" introduced a live video. In time they would realize, it was the inside of Maggie's house.
Maggie left the cheese she was cutting on a counter with a knife. Maggie remarked that should there be a murder in Salem they could be one another's alibi. Grasping the gloved hand of the visitor, Maggie fearfully recalled the evil in the killer's eyes. Noticing the guest had a bottle, Maggie reminded them of her two-decade membership in AA. She grew curious at a mask in their pocket since the visitor apparently had said they were not going to any parties. And then, looking at their eyes, Maggie gasped in shock, "It's you!" The killer hit her over the head with the bottle.
