Bo & Hope #68 February 27 - June 11, 2007: 8 hour original edit
DVD #68A 2/27 At the Station: Bo and Roman are working on leads to find John, when Philip bursts in with a box labeled "Remains." Philip tells Bo that Shawn and Belle jumped off the ship, and their raft was found with blood on it and they are presumed dead. Philip is having the blood analyzed to find out whom it belongs. He blamed Bo for helping Shawn and Belle escape with Claire, and further tells him; it is his fault that his little girl is dead, and he will not rest until the entire Brady family pays. Roman gets a lead on John and leaves the room.
Bo grabs Philip and throws him against the wall, and informs him that Claire is not his daughter, and he would never received custody of her if he had not paid people to get what he wants. Bo further tells Philip that he is no brother of his, and throws him out of his office. After, Bo is going through the contents with the box. Roman starts to arrange for a search for Belle and Shawn and Claire. Bo studies the remains of the raft used to escape, and comes upon a surprise. Shawn has scratched a code into the plastic raft that translates to SAFE. Bo tells Roman to set up a search and rescue, they are alive.
3/2 Kayla is horrified when Bo tells her Steve is being sent to a state hospital for the criminally insane. Steve is livid. He blames Kayla for this. Bo comes to Kayla's defense and the argument escalates. Steve breaks free from the cop who's been restraining him, and knocks Bo to the floor. Later, after Steve's been restrained again, he lashes out at Bo and Kayla, saying he wants them out of his life for good. Kayla pleads with Steve not to shut her out, but he won't hear it. And with that, the cops haul him off. Bo promises a horrified Kayla they'll do everything they can for Steve.
3/7 Billie shows Bo her new security system and he agrees to let her install it in his house. If it works, he'll give her an endorsement. When she reveals the company that's interested is Mythic, he's suddenly not too open. Later, he tells her he's waiting to hear from Shawn in hopes of getting his statement to use against Patrick. If Patrick flips, they can put E.J. in jail. Billie accuses Bo of having a grudge against E.J. Bo says E.J. is dangerous, but Billie refuses to believe it and ignores Bo's warnings.
3/8 Billie reports back to EJ that Bo wants nothing to do with him or his security system. E.J. claims innocence. He's tired of being persecuted by Bo Brady. Billie says she doesn't believe E.J. is a monster.
3/13 Bo received a call from Abby telling him Chelsea was heading over to his house to confide her troubles to him. Chelsea arrived at Bo's place but thought better about knocking. Instead, she wrote Bo a note telling him she loved him and slipped it under the door. Unbeknownst to her, Willow had been watching from the shadows. Once Chelsea was gone, Willow broke into the house and stole some jewelry, just as E.J. had paid her to do.
On the way out, Willow dropped some of the baubles and stooped to get them, hastily setting down the candle she was using to light her way. In an instant, the flame of the candle caught the curtains, and they were set ablaze. Before bolting from the house, Willow picked up the note Chelsea had left for Bo and left the hairbrush that she had confiscated at the Penthouse Grill. Luckily, Hope and the baby escaped from the house without injury. The fire was extinguished, but Bo realized it hadn't been an accident and wondered who had lit the match. When Bo called Chelsea, and she told him she was leaving town by bus.
3/14 Billie and Bo feared that Chelsea was the cause of the fire but didn't immediately tell Hope the reason why. Hope pressed until Billie revealed her one-night stand with Nick. Hope and Billie faced off, but Bo interceded and said he thought they needed to talk to Chelsea before they assumed anything. They took Billie back to her apartment. Meanwhile, Bo got a call from Abby saying Chelsea was at the garage. Bo's arrival at the garage stopped Chelsea from leaving town.
Later, while Hope comforted a distraught Billie, Bo confronted Chelsea on whether or not she had started the fire.
3/15 E.J. admitted to Willow that he had taken back the check because the last thing he needed was a paper trail. He wanted nothing to do with Willow and warned her to keep her mouth shut. Willow, however, wasn't concerned about the cops. She had set up someone else to take the fall.
3/27 Bo shows up at Billie's with a task force to search Chelsea's room, while Hope breaks into Willow's room at the YWCA and finds the stolen jewelry. Willow covers, saying Chelsea planted it there, but then she makes a run for it. Hope calls Bo, who tells Chelsea she's off the hook, but not before revealing the hairbrush that was found at the scene of the crime. Later, Bo tells Chelsea that this whole mess will be over when the DNA tests come back on the hair found in the brush. Chelsea makes a panicked phone call for help.
4/9 Philip confronts E.J. about hiring Willow to rob Bo and Hope's house. E.J. is forced to tell Philip his plan to install Sentrycell in Bo's house so he can track down Shawn. Philip suggests they break into Bo's house and install it themselves. Philip has two demands: E.J. can't ever hurt Billie, and E.J. must tell Philip the second he gets anything on Belle and Claire's location. E.J. agrees to Philip's terms. Later Philip calls Billie to find out how Sentrycell works.
4/10 E.J. and Philip pose as electricians to get into Bo and Hope's house. They secretly place cameras and load Billie's cell phone surveillance program on the computer. They usher out a painter, who gets suspicious and calls Bo.
Bo and Kayla argue over the value of the evidence she brought back from Stefano's hospital room in Italy. She wants the cops to move on E.J. Bo says her evidence won't stand up in court. She storms out and drives away and two cars force her off the road!
Bo gets the call from the painter and arrives at his house while E.J. and Philip are still inside. Bo tells the painter to call the police for back-up. Bo goes inside, searches the house and is about to find Philip and E.J. when a cop comes in and tells him Kayla's been in an accident. Bo leaves, telling the cop to wait for back-up and then to search the house. E.J. and Philip are able to get away.
Later, Bo is at Kayla's hospital bedside and she manages to let him know she was forced off the road.
4/11 Chelsea gets a surprise when Bo apologizes for not being a better father. He says they know Willow is responsible for the fire and the hairbrush will prove she's guilty. He tells Chelsea he trusts her and wants her to move in with him, Hope and Ciara. Chelsea is thrilled.
Kayla calls Bo to inform him that Steve is running free and might kill E.J. She is desperate for Bo to find and stop Steve. Meanwhile, Steve attacks E.J. and warns him never to touch Kayla. Bo pays E.J. a visit, and despite his bruises, Wells reports he hasn't seen Steve. Bo figures Steve has already been there.
4/12 Hope is in Kayla's hospital room when E.J. arrives. E.J. claims he had nothing to do with running Kayla off the road. Hope and Kayla don't believe him. E.J. asks Hope how Shawn is and pretends to be concerned. After E.J. leaves, Hope expresses her fear that he knows Roman and Bo are waiting to get a statement from Shawn.
Bo confronts Steve about roughing up E.J. Steve denies ever leaving the hospital, but Bo knows his friend did it. The only reason E.J. didn't press charges is because he can't get to Steve in jail.
Later, Hope alerts Bo to E.J.'s interest in Shawn. Recalling the mysterious electricians, Bo and Hope rush home and search the house for bugs. They come up empty, but decide to have Roman and the police take a closer look.
E.J. watches the video feed from the cameras in Bo and Hope's house.
4/24 Kayla and Stephanie tell Bo that Steve is ready to testify against E.J. Meanwhile, Granger is using electroshock therapy to get Steve back in line. When Kayla, Bo and Stephanie arrive, Steve denies ever saying he would turn on E.J. Kayla sees evidence he was shocked and goes out with Bo to confront Granger. He tells them the court put him in complete charge of Steve's therapy. He's not going to consult with Kayla; in fact, he's not going to let Steve have visitors at all!
4/25 Stephanie makes her opinion known to Bo and Kayla that she's sick of letting her dad run their lives. It's time for some tough love! Kayla and Bo respectfully disagree, and Stephanie states she can't deal with her mom wasting her life over a man who won't help himself. She races off, and Kayla laments the toll this is taking on her family.
Bo and Kayla get a phone call notifying them of a fire at the Horton cabin. They race up there, and Sami is horrified to learn E.J. wasn't found in the remains of the cabin. He's still alive!
4/26 Bo informs Kayla, Lucas and Sami that E.J. is missing.
Marlena visits Hope and reports that Belle called. Hope stops her from revealing more since she fears the house may still be bugged. She and Marlena continue their conversation on the porch, where Marlena reveals the kids are in Tinda Lau. Hope calls Bo to relay the information. Bo returns home, where a friend from the FBI hands him a bag of tiny cameras and microphones he found in the house. Bo realizes it's Billie's security system.
Kayla tells Bo she needs to break Steve out of the mental hospital, and she'll do it on her own, if that's what it takes.
4/27 Bo and Hope call Shawn. Hope tells Shawn she thinks Willow is telling the truth about him being the father of her baby. Hope says she'll look after Willow and the baby until Shawn gets home. Bo shows Billie the remnants of her security system, which were discovered in his house. Billie insists she doesn't know anything about it. Bo believes her, but thinks E.J. planted it, and he scolds her for getting involved with him in the first place. Billie thinks Philip is the culprit since he was asking questions about how to set it up and has since left the country. Bo fears Philip knows where Shawn and Belle are, and alerts his son to leave Tinda Lau at once.
4/30 Hope visits Willow in jail. Willow begs her to post bail. Hope refuses, but instead wants to talk to Willow about what happens when her baby is born. When Hope suggests she and Bo raise the baby while Willow finishes her sentence, Willow freaks out and says they'll never raise her child. Later, Maggie consoles Hope, and they're both relieved that Willow has no other member of their family to manipulate. Little do they know, Willow called Nick right after for help.
5/4 Adrienne arrives at the hospital in a wheelchair. She looks drugged. When Foley leaves, Adrienne comes to life and speaks to Kayla and Bo, who are listening to her over a wire in their car outside. Kayla says they have to get Steve out today. Adrienne spots a zombie-looking Steve and tells him she is his sister, but he shows no signs of recognition.
Adrienne says she will help Steve get out, and recounts a story from their past. Steve says she is a liar, but reacts when Adrienne says she knows Kayla. Adrienne tries to get Steve to remember her, using her bracelet to jog his memory. Adrienne says Kayla is outside; she will take him to see her. Adrienne holds Steve up, but Foley returns and tells her to get away from him or she will be confined to her room.
5/7 In front of Foley, Steve blurts out that Adrienne's his sister. As Bo and Kayla listen from their surveillance vehicle parked outside the hospital, Adrienne covers. Once Foley leaves, she tells Steve she's wearing a wire. She gives him the earpiece and he hears Kayla telling him to do as Adrienne asks; she's going to try to get him out of there.
Dr. Granger and E.J. return. E.J. busts Adrienne for wearing the wire. E.J. and Granger are about to take Steve when the other patients rally around their friend and allow Adrienne and Steve the opportunity to escape where Bo and Kayla are waiting with the getaway car.
5/8 After a tender good-bye between Bo and Hope, he leaves for Tinda Lau, intent on helping his son get his daughter back.
Dvd #68B E.J. meets with Steve in the warehouse about his next assignment. Steve learns he's going to Tinda Lau to stop Shawn from signing the papers against E.J., and then he's ordered to kill Bo!

Meanwhile, Kayla has stolen a drill from the hotel and breaks into E.J.'s apartment. She searches the apartment and finds the atlas with Tinda Lau circled.
Roman and Hope arrive and Kayla shows them the map. She thinks that's where E.J. sent Steve. Hope gets a call that Stephanie's in the hospital and Kayla starts out as E.J. arrives. He wants Roman to arrest her for breaking and entering, but Roman refuses, vowing that E.J.'s the one he's going to arrest.
Stephanie is in the hospital with a concussion. Kayla arrives at Stephanie's room and angrily tells her if she's going to cause even more problems, she should just go back to Dayton.
5/11 Shawn is exhausted after a failed search for Claire and Belle. Just as he wishes he had someone to help them, Bo walks in. Bo organizes the search and gets Gabby to find a dog that can track Claire's scent.
5/14 Bo arrives at the cave and takes Shawn back to the hotel. Gabby figures out Belle's secret message – the initials stand for GPS, meaning she has the tracking device with her. Shawn uses a computer to track the signal and realizes Philip is heading to Australia. Gabby says there are amateur pilots on the island; perhaps they can enlist their help. At that moment, they hear a seaplane land and Gabby rushes out to meet the pilot. She returns and says the pilot was actually looking for Bo. Who it could be?
Adrienne meets Kayla at the church. Kayla informs her that Steve was sent to Tinda Lau to kill Bo and Shawn.
5/15 Bo and Shawn are wary of Steve's sudden appearance on Tinda Lau. Steve swears he's no longer under the DiMeras' control, but Bo has doubts. Shawn wants to trust Steve, knowing his uncle and his seaplane are his only chance of catching up with Philip and rescuing Belle and Claire. Bo phones Hope and asks her to find Kayla and have her call him. Hope talks to Adrienne, who reluctantly informs her of Kayla's fears. Hope calls Bo and tells him that Kayla believes Steve was sent to Tinda Lau by E.J. to kill Bo and Shawn.
5/16 Bo hangs up from a call, having just learned from Hope that Adrienne believes Steve is not to be trusted and that he was sent to Tinda Lau to commit murder. Shawn resists this theory, desperate to use Steve's seaplane in order to catch up with Philip's boat. After searching Steve's room, Gabby finds a gun. Shawn is forced to admit Steve has murder on his mind. But why would Steve want them dead?
Bo reveals that Steve was brainwashed by E.J., who fears that Bo and Shawn are going to put him behind bars. Bo then tells Shawn there's only one way to stop E.J. Shawn must sign a statement that E.J. and Patrick Lockhart were in collusion. Bo and the Salem P.D. believe Lockhart will be persuaded by Shawn's statement to roll over on E.J. As Shawn starts to sign the statement, Steve returns from having gassed up the plane. Shawn quickly hides the statement, while Bo tells Steve they decided to find themselves a boat and catch up to Philip that way. Steve questions the turn-around, and Bo is forced to admit he can't trust Steve.
5/17 Bo and Steve argue. Why don't Shawn and Bo trust him anymore? Bo believes E.J. sent Steve here to kill them. Steve pulls a gun on Bo, but instead of aiming it at him, he turns the gun over to Bo as proof he's not here to hurt anybody. He offers Shawn a ride to find Philip and Belle, when Gabby says the tracking device is no longer giving off a signal! Steve tells Shawn they have to go now, but Bo still thinks they should wait. Bo and Steve almost come to blows, but Shawn breaks it up. He'll give Bo an hour to find Philip another way before he goes with Steve.
Hope decides she's going to Tinda Lau, but Billie stops her. Billie convinces Hope to stay, promising they'll get even with E.J. when the time is right.
5/18 Bo finally convinces Shawn to go through legal channels rather than take Steve up on his offer to go after Philip in his seaplane. Then Gabby rushes in with a portable marine radio, announcing that Belle's trying to make contact. Before Belle can reveal the name of the island where Philip is taking her and Claire, Shawn loses reception.
Steve wants to know why Bo's so dead-set against him helping Shawn. Bo tells Steve he's a walking time bomb and he doesn't trust him! Desperate to save Belle and Claire, Shawn doesn't care if Steve's been sent by E.J. to kill them. If Steve's willing to go after Philip, Shawn's going with him!
Bo ultimately decides to join them, and Shawn and Gabby share an emotional good-bye. Once they're aloft, Shawn scans the ocean with infrared binoculars and spots Philip's boat.
Steve drops Shawn off in an inflatable raft. Later, Steve asks Bo if he got Shawn to go on record about E.J. Suspicious Bo questions why he's asking, but Steve isn't forthcoming. Bo says he did, and is going to use it to nail E.J. upon his return to Salem. Steve says he's sorry but he can't let Bo do that.
5/21 In the seaplane, Steve pulls his gun on Bo and demands the statement Shawn signed to incriminate E.J. Bo refuses and reminds Steve of their tight friendship. Steve warns Bo not to test him. Bo insists Steve isn't a killer. Steve lets down his guard for a moment, and Bo wrestles the gun away and tosses it out the window. However, Steve then puts the plane in a nosedive, saying if Bo doesn't give him the document, he'll kill them both.
5/22 Bo and Steve return to Tinda Lau to get the document Shawn signed indicting E.J. Wells. Gabby retrieves the paper for Bo, who then refuses to hand it over to Steve. Steve pulls out a knife and is about to kill Bo, when Kayla arrives. Kayla puts herself between Bo and Steve, telling her husband he'll have to kill her first. Steve rushes at Kayla with the knife, but he can't bring himself to hurt her and breaks down. Kayla tells Bo she's going to stay with Steve on Tinda Lau and help him recover until he's no longer under E.J.'s control.
Later, Gabby reports to Bo that Philip's boat has gone down at sea and the search is on for survivors.
5/23 Bo and Gabby learn that Shawn, Belle and Philip were plucked out of the ocean by the rescue team but that Claire was nowhere to be found. When the threesome arrives back at the Bikini Hotel, Shawn tells Bo about the life vest they put on Claire, complete with a tracking device. They should've been able to locate her in the water. He's devastated at the thought that his daughter might be gone, while Belle suffers from shock. After Bo presses, Belle breaks down, wondering how God could've done this to her little girl. Everyone is devastated when the rescue team calls off the search for Claire.
A concerned Maggie tells Hope about the panties she found under Nick's bed, believing they belong to Chelsea. Hope is confused since Chelsea told her she and Nick have yet to consummate their relationship. Hope brings it up with Chelsea, who denies being the owner of the undies. Chelsea grows upset, thinking Nick must be two-timing her with another woman.
5/24 Bo shows up at the pub with Philip as Hope, Marlena and Victor mourn Claire's loss. Bo explains that Shawn and Belle are at the hospital; Belle is being treated for shock. Victor refuses to give up on finding Claire. An anguished Philip wants him to let it go and to let Claire rest in peace.
5/28 Willow confronts Shawn with proof that he's the father of her baby from the results of a DNA test from an amnio she had in prison as Hope listens in nearby. Shawn finally believes her, but she says she doesn't want him to be part of her baby's life. She has someone else to take care of her and Shawn didn't exactly do a great job with Claire.
Hope intervenes, telling Willow to stop using her baby for her own selfish needs. Shawn wants to be part of the baby's life, but all Willow wants is for the Bradys to keep her out of jail. Shawn and Hope claim they can't do that, but Willow knows they have a lot of influence. After Willow goes, Hope advises Shawn to tell Belle about the baby.
5/29 Marlena and Hope visit a recovering John. Roman asks if John can identify E.J. as his shooter. John shakes his head no, he doesn't remember what happened at the boathouse. Alone, Hope and John share a tender moment, and Bo is also reunited with his friend.
Bo arrives at Belle's hospital room with a paper bag and takes out Claire's life vest, which was recovered. They all notice that the vest, with the tracking device, was cut off of Claire. It appears she might still be alive and has been kidnapped!
5/30 Marlena, John, Bo and Hope arrive at the pub. Sami is overjoyed to see that John is out of his coma. Lucas tells them about Sami's attempt to cut a deal with the DiMeras. Sami tries to convince everyone to let her handle this her way. E.J. calls Sami and says he needs to meet with her. Under pressure from Bo, Sami reluctantly asks E.J. to come to the pub so Bo can surprise him and take him in for questioning. John hides so he can be sprung on E.J. later. E.J. arrives and Bo tells him he's taking him down to the station.
5/31 Bo takes E.J. down to the police station for questioning while Marlena, Hope and Sami discuss the long-standing feud between the families, wondering where and why it began. This reminds Sami of the letter she and Lucas discovered at the DiMera estate in New Orleans. She retrieves the letter and Hope, who speaks some Italian, is able to tell Sami and Marlena that the letter was written by Santo DiMera on his death bed to his son, Stefano.
Apparently, Santo had been in love with a woman, but she was taken away from him. Hope also makes out the word "Brady" in the letter but that's all she can read. Sami leaves with the letter to have it translated by an Italian teacher at Salem U. but she is waylaid outside the pub by Tony's henchman.
6/1 Bo and John show up at the DiMera mansion to see Tony. Ushered inside by a reluctant Bart, Bo and John are stunned when Tony enters the living room on horseback! Bo asks Tony where Sami is and he feigns ignorance. John says he'll ask Stefano where Sami is and starts for the stairs. A furious Tony asks if he has a search warrant. Bo and John admit they don't, and Tony insists they leave his house immediately.
Bo and John arrive as Sami taken away by ambulance after she was attacked. Bo gets in E.J.'s face, warning him to stay away from Sami. If he or his family goes anywhere near her, Bo will consider it a declaration of war.
6/5 Hope tells Bo she wants to investigate the Brady-DiMera feud, starting with the letter Sami and Lucas found in New Orleans. Bo agrees to work with her. Doug and Julie Williams return from abroad for a warm reunion. Doug remembers a tunnel which ran from his old club to the DiMera Mansion, where they found a list of Horton and Brady names and a map of Salem. Hope shows Doug and Julie the letter, and Julie translates it from Italian. It was written by Stefano's father, Santo, on his deathbed, telling his son he loved and lost a woman named Colleen because of a family in Salem. Santo wants Stefano to carry out his vendetta against the Brady family.
6/6 At the Brady Pub, Julie reads the DiMera letter. It is revealed that the vendetta began because Stefano's father had his heart broken. The name Colleen is mentioned and they wonder who she is. Was she a Brady or was she stolen from Santo by a Brady? Julie, Doug and Hope discuss where to find information on Colleen and Santo. Hope wonders if the hidden tunnel under Doug's old place might give them answers. Bo asks Grandpa Shawn about Colleen, and he gets tense, saying he's never heard of her. Bo pushes the subject, and Grandpa Shawn tells him to leave it be. Doug calls a real estate agent, who says he'll let him check out the old club.
At the beach, Chelsea finds the hairbrush but is caught by Bo!
6/7 Chelsea comes clean with Bo about the hairbrush. He takes her to the police station, where she and Nick explain how he stole the brush from the lab in order to protect her. They were afraid the police would think she started the Brady fire when they discovered the brush was Chelsea's. Nick and Chelsea also tell Bo and Roman they believe Willow planted the brush the night of the fire.
6/8 Bo and Hope break the news to Shawn that Willow Stark is dead. If DNA tests prove the child Willow was carrying is Shawn's, it's only right that they take of her funeral arrangements. Shawn decides to foot the bill on his own, but if the child isn't his, if Willow lied to him, he wants nothing more to do with her.
Once Shawn's gone, Hope asks Bo if he believes Chelsea had nothing to do with starting the fire that almost destroyed their home. Bo says he believes Chelsea is innocent; Hope concurs.
Doug and Julie arrive with the key to Doug's Place. Lucas stops by and asks Bo about Colleen. Referring to the letter Sami and Lucas found, Bo, Doug, Julie and Hope report that Colleen was the love of Santo DiMera's life. They think she's at the root of the DiMera-Brady feud. They're going to open up Doug's Place to search the tunnel underneath the club, where Doug and Julie once found evidence of the DiMeras' plans in Salem.
6/11 At the police station, Shawn is waiting to find out if he was the father of Willow's child. Bo reassures him as Shawn feels guilty for never doing anything for Willow’s baby and now the child is gone with her death. Belle and Philip agree to take off for Chicago to follow up on their lead on Claire. Shawn plans to catch up with them once he gets the paternity results but feels he needs to wait for those to make arrangements for their funerals.
