Bo & Hope #80 January 4 - July 7, 2011: 8 hour original edit

DVD #80A 1/4 At the cabin, Hope awoke to find Bo studying a map. Bo told Hope that he was going to hike to the gas station and use the pay phone in order to enact their plan to turn themselves in. Bo reviewed the plan with Hope and noted that he would agree to surrender to police on the condition that Hope not return to county and that the police launch an investigation into Warden Smith's tenure at the prison. Bo explained that he wanted to reach out to Roman but that he believed all communication with Roman would be tapped. Hope agreed to wait at the cabin while Bo went to the gas station.

Before leaving, Bo handed a small pink barrette to Hope and noted that Ciara had given it to him before he left home. "Think abut how much she loves you and how we're gonna make it out of here," Bo said. Bo kissed Hope's forehead, then left. As Hope sat alone on the bed, she fell asleep and dreamed that Ciara had run into the cabin. Hope hugged her daughter tightly and said how much she missed the girl. When Hope promised Ciara that she would return home with Bo, Ciara asked if Hope was back together with Bo. Hope woke up from her nap with a start and muttered, "No. We're not back together."

At the prison, Warden Jane Smith informed the state police that everyone would be better off if Bo and Hope did not survive the manhunt. In the doorway, Jennifer appeared with two cups of coffee and eavesdropped on the warden's phone call. Shocked to see Jennifer in the doorway, Jane hung up the phone and invited Jennifer to sit down. Jennifer asked about the escaped prisoner but the warden would only say, "Justice will be served." With a faint smile, Jennifer excused herself and headed for the door.

At the doorway, Jennifer ran into Rafe. Rafe stared at Jennifer briefly, and then he addressed Jane. "Warden Smith. Been avoiding me. Wonder why that is?" Rafe wondered aloud. Rafe casually sat down in the seat across from Jane and informed her that he was the acting temporary commander of the Salem police force. Once Jennifer had left the room, Rafe asked Jane for information. Jane curtly informed Rafe that his title did not give him the right to interfere with a state police investigation.

With a smirk, Rafe countered that the Jane's title did not give her the right to dictate what the Salem Police Department could investigate. "Commissioner Brady went rogue, so we want to find him just as badly as anyone else so that we can bring him to justice," Rafe said. Rafe asked Jane why she was stonewalling his investigation and whether she was the reason that Bo had broken his wife out of prison. Nervous, Jane ordered Rafe to leave the prison. With a shrug, Rafe agreed.

Worried about his patients, Ben called Warden Smith. Ben explained that he desperately needed the organs, and Jane countered that she was under scrutiny because of the escaped prisoner. When Ben noted that his patients could not wait, Jane coldly commented, "Then they're out of luck."

Carly received a phone call at the hospital and was stunned to find Bo on the other end of the line. "Hey. It's me. I need your help," Bo said. Frantic but attempting to appear calm, Carly furtively asked Bo where he was hiding. Bo asked Carly to talk to Roman and get him to call the pay phone, since Roman's phone lines were tapped. "No matter what happens, I love you," Carly whispered. Very noticeable that Bo does not say I love you back. Fighting emotion, Bo responded, "Well, I'm grateful as hell that you're on my side." Carly warned Bo to take care of himself, then hung up. Bo rushed back to the cabin and warned Hope that they needed to leave the cabin because he had heard a click on the line when he was talking to Carly. Fearful that the police had tapped the line and learned Bo's location, he urged Hope to pack up and get ready to move. Back at the prison, Jane received a call from Burt Winston informing her that he had tracked Bo's phone call to Carly. Burt informed Jane that he had set up a three-mile perimeter around the pay phone and that he believed he could corner Bo and Hope. Meanwhile, at the cabin, Bo and Hope finished packing their supplies and headed out into the wilderness.

1/7 As Bo and Hope climbed down the stairs into the cabin of a small boat, they heard footsteps on the deck above. They ducked behind a door, and Bo drew his pistol. He pressed his ear to the door until he heard the footsteps arrive right outside, and then he flung the door open and aimed his gun, only to find a man on the other side with his gun aimed at Bo.

Letting out an exasperated grunt, Bo lowered his weapon. "Come on, Leo! Do you always have to be such a cowboy?" Bo complained, as Hope gave their old friend a hug. Leo asked about "Shawn-D," and he couldn't believe it when Hope informed him that the little boy he'd known was a father. Leo then warned Bo and Hope that they didn't have much time before the state police found them. Hope assured Leo that she had only broken out of prison because the warden was corrupt, and inmates were dying for no reason. Leo just wanted to know what the plan was to take the warden down. After Leo set up his laptop for the Bradys, he left Bo and Hope alone on the boat.

Bo noted that the boat reminded him a little of the Fancy Face, and then went up on deck to shove off. Hope got to work on the computer. When Bo returned below deck, he told Hope, "I dropped anchor in that secluded little spot we used to go when we needed some private time." After a moment's awkwardness, Hope said she'd learned that Lee and the warden had attended the University of Michigan at the same time. As she researched the warden's cell phone calls, Hope found a second line linked to the account, and that phone had only made calls to a single phone number. Bo logged onto the police department's system with Roman's password, since he would betray their location if he used his own. He tried to track the phone's location, but couldn't find any information because it was a private number. Bo urged Hope not to give up. "We will come up with something," he asserted, "because we're a good team." Hope got back to work trying to figure out whom the warden had been calling.

Jennifer tiptoed into the warden's office at the prison, but Warden Jane and Lee arrived right behind her. The warden pointed out that Jennifer's shift had been over for more than an hour. Jennifer claimed that she'd forgotten a report that she knew the warden needed the next day. Jane was impressed with "Ms. Spencer's" willingness to go the extra mile. After Jennifer left, Lee contended, "Nobody's that much of a go-getter. It's gotta be an act. I don't think you should trust her an inch." She pointed out that Ms. Spencer had arrived at the same time Hope had escaped. Jane argued that even if Jennifer were a plant, there was nothing for her to find. They heard a phone ringing, and Lee was surprised when Jane unlocked a desk drawer and removed a "secret cell phone" to answer it. An irate Ben informed Jane that a very important patient was flying in that night for a kidney transplant, and demanded to know what had happened to the kidney. Jane tersely replied that she would call him back, and hung up.

Later, Lee informed the warden, "Good news: a 38-year-old prisoner just collapsed, burst an aneurism. No close relatives. Of course, I could keep her alive artificially until you give me the green light, and then I could go to work. Make everybody happy, including Dr. Walters." Jane pointed that that since Bo and Hope Brady had escaped, they wouldn't be able to ship out coolers full of organs unnoticed. Lee countered that she had no way to make a living once her stint was up in a month, and both of them could certainly use the money, especially if the Bradys figured out what they'd been up to. Later, Jane called Ben to tell him, "We have that kidney for you. It'll be delivered within the hour."

1/12 On the boat, Bo and Hope were surprised by a knock at the door. Bo leapt to his feet, but Jane burst through the door pointing a gun. "I told you I'd get you, Hope. Here I am," Jane commented. As the warden shot Bo, Hope awoke from her nightmare. Hope rushed to the main room of the boat and told Bo about her dream. Bo promised Hope that he had formulated a plan to get even with the warden. Bo explained that he had hacked into Jane's email and learned that she was going to a secret meeting. When Bo announced that he needed to leave for the meeting, Hope refused to remain on the boat by herself. Hope reminded Bo that he needed to take backup, and Bo countered that if he got caught, Jane would be less likely to shoot him until she found Hope. With a sigh, Hope agreed. Hope thanked Bo for standing by her side, and she urged Bo to "be safe."

When Bo arrived at Jane's secret meeting, he hid in the bushes and listened. As Bo attempted to creep closer to Jane and see who she was talking to, someone walked up behind Bo and knocked him unconscious. After tying Bo to a chair in a basement, Jane taunted his unconscious form. "Idiot. Guess you didn't know who you were dealing with," Jane said as Stefano shook his head in the corner of the room.

1/13 While Bo was tied up and unconscious, Jane and Stefano discussed what they were going to do with him. Jane assured Stefano that she had the situation with Bo and Hope under control. Stefano realized that Jane planned to kill Bo and harvest his organs. Stefano told Jane she was an idiot. "The biggest problem you have right now is Hope Brady," Stefano said, "and he is the only one on this earth who could take you to her. But...he has to be alive." Jane insisted that Hope didn't know anything concrete about the organ harvesting operation, but Stefano wasn't convinced. Stefano reminded Jane that Hope would know how to track Jane down because Hope had been a cop.

Bo started to regain consciousness and realized he was tied up and blindfolded. When Bo asked who was in the room with him, Jane answered, "Your wife's worst nightmare." Bo told Jane that she didn't need to keep him blindfolded. "I recognize your dulcet tones," he said as Jane removed the blindfold. Jane gloated that she had the upper hand in the situation. "Ex-cops don't do well in prison," Jane said. "Hope had to find out the hard way. Imagine what would happen to a stupidly arrogant commissioner. You tell me where Hope is, or your life as you know it...is kaput."

On the boat, Hope was worried about Bo's safety. Hope decided to distract herself by using Bo's laptop to try to find more evidence against Jane. After hacking into the warden's files, Hope realized that Bo had been captured. "Who the hell is she working with?" Hope wondered. Jane called Lee at the prison and asked Lee to purge all of the files from the infirmary's computer. Jane admitted that she was afraid that Hope might have had access to a computer. Lee tried to log into the computer using Jane's login information and realized that someone was already logged into Jane's account.

Later, Lee delivered a syringe and vial to Jane. Lee assured Jane that the "computer situation" had been taken care of. "And once we find Hope," Lee added, "she will be, too." Meanwhile, Hope tried to access another file on the computer and realized that she had been locked out. Jane returned to Bo and informed him that she had decided to move on to "Plan B." Jane produced a syringe and injected its contents into Bo's neck. Bo realized it was sodium pentothal. "In just a couple of minutes, you're going to tell me exactly what I want to know," Jane taunted. "And there won't be anything you can do to stop it.”

Stefano met with Ben on the pier to discuss Johnny's surgery. Stefano told Ben to find a donor eye for Johnny. Ben regretfully informed Stefano that an eye transplant wouldn't be possible. "Your grandson isn't eligible for a transplant, because we just, we don't have the science for cases like his...not yet."

"We're talking about a little boy going blind here," Stefano said. Ben explained that he was only involved in the organ harvesting operation to save lives. "I am behind this operation, alright?" Stefano said. "And I can't even help my own grandson? Oh...I don't care about anybody else's motives." Ben said he sympathized with Stefano. Ben explained that their demand for organs was much greater than their supply, and wondered what Stefano planned to do about the situation. "We are talking about human organs here," Stefano reminded Ben. "I cannot speed up production as if it was some kind of a….. a factory." Stefano explained that the operation was extremely personal to him because he had once needed an organ transplant himself. "And now you're telling me that my grandson is not 'eligible.' What the hell kind of word is that?”

1/18 In a basement, Bo struggled to resist the sodium pentothal that Jane had given him. "I am never gonna tell you where Hope is," Bo said with a laugh. Frustrated, Jane tortured Bo until he was bloody. Stalling for time, Bo gave Jane a false lead on where to find Hope. When an angry Jane returned empty-handed, Bo joked that he had given Jane the right location but that Hope was "sneaky." Furious, Jane noted that she had no more use for Bo and that she was going to call her boss for instructions.

On the boat, Hope realized that the software program that Bo had used was a trap set by Jane. As Hope worried what to do, she heard footsteps overhead on the deck of the boat. Hope was relieved to find Leo descend the stairs into the galley. After Leo gave Hope an untraceable cell phone, Hope informed Leo that Bo had gone missing. When Leo offered to help find Bo, Hope gave him directions to the meeting place that Bo had been headed toward.

Leo checked the meeting place and called Hope to tell her he'd found signs of a struggle. When Hope hung up the phone, she fretted about what to do next. Desperate, Hope made a phone call. At the Brady Pub, Nathan heard a phone ringing and found it underneath a napkin on the table. When Nathan answered the phone, a startled Hope hung up. "Nathan?" Hope wondered aloud.

1/24 Jane called Stefano and told him that Bo wouldn't talk, no matter what torture techniques she tried. She wanted permission to kill Bo. Stefano said he didn't have time to talk to her about the daily details of her secret operation. He told her to do whatever she had to do quickly. She asked if that meant yes, but Stefano had hung up. Bo woke up, and Jane announced that Bo would die. Jane told someone named Bird on the phone that they planned to do some skeet shooting on a live target. She ordered Bird to get there as soon as possible. When she got off the phone, Bo asked if she had a problem, and she started to explain that the guy she had hired had problems with his car. Then, she got an idea. She wanted to set it up so that it would look like Bo was killed trying to flee from justice. After she left, Bo tried to loosen the ropes on his hands. Jane called Ben to tell him that she might have some fresh organs.

Hope snuck into Nathan's room, and wakes him up with her hand over his mouth. He is surprised to see her and asks how she got in? She admits to using the spare key hidden in the same place that Alice had always kept it. She told Nathan about the women in prison being murdered, and he was shocked. Hope asked why he was acting so surprised and how he had gotten involved in the plot. Nathan asked why she thought that he was involved, and she explained that she had called the phone number that had been programmed in the warden's speed dial the other day, and Nathan had answered the phone.

Nathan explained that he'd had someone else's phone, and that doctor had taken Nathan's phone by mistake, so Nathan answered the doctor's phone. Hope hugged him out of relief. Hope asked about the doctor that owned the phone that Nathan had answered, and Nathan said it was Dr. Ben Walters. Nathan said that Ben was getting closer to Jennifer. Hope gave Nathan instructions to carry out and said that Bo's life depended on it. Nathan went to the Brady Pub to deliver Hope's message to Jennifer. Jennifer made it to the boat where Hope had been hiding. Hope informed Jennifer about Bo being missing. Hope asked for Jennifer's help. Jennifer couldn't believe that Ben had been involved in the organ-stealing scheme. Hope gave Jennifer instructions on what to do. Jennifer gave Hope a picture of Ciara and a Christmas present that Ciara had wanted to give Hope. Hope put the necklace around her neck. After Jennifer left, Hope prayed that God would help Jennifer and keep Bo safe.

When Jane returned to the room where she had been holding Bo captive, Bo had already gone.

Jane returned to the basement to find that Bo had escaped. As Jane called one of her henchman, Burt, Bo slowly crept out from behind the doorway. "A search party can take him alive. That can't happen!" Jane said to Burt. As Jane hung up her cell phone, Bo grabbed Jane in a chokehold and held her until she passed out. Bo placed Jane on the chair and woke her up. With his hand squeezing Jane's throat, Bo warned Jane not to scream or else he would break her neck. Bo grabbed Jane and dragged her toward the door in order to leave the basement. As Jane struggled against Bo's grasp, she fell backward into the room, causing Bo to turn his back on the doorway as Burt arrived. Burt got the upper hand and tied Bo to the chair. "You should have killed him the first time," Burt remarked as he wiped the blood from his nose. Jane noted that she had the authority to kill Bo but that she needed a few hours first.

Ben returned to the table and apologized to Jennifer for ducking out on her to take a phone call from his patient. Jennifer told Ben not to worry and thanked him for "being in my life right now." With a nervous smile, Jennifer hugged Ben and slyly slipped her hand into his pocket to steal his keys.

1/26 Jane called to tell Ben that she'd found an organ donor, and he should receive the shipment that night. After Ben hung up, he promised Jennifer that he would be "more present" the next time they had coffee. As she left, Jennifer said to herself, "It's sad; you sure don't seem like the type to be up to no good."

Jennifer went to the prison, and used Ben's key to let herself into the infirmary. After carefully closing the door behind her, she then tried to open the file cabinet, but found it locked. She searched quickly through the desk drawers until she found the key, and then unlocked the file drawers. She rifled hurriedly through the files until she found a separate accordion file hidden in the back of a lower drawer. In it, she found a file for April Nelson, and thought that was one of the names Hope had mentioned. As she tried to read the file, she realized that it was all in some kind of numerical medical code, and she needed a doctor to decipher it.

Suddenly Jennifer heard a key in the lock, so she started to hide, but then she heard Jane's voice asking for a word with Lee. Lee stopped unlocking the door. Jennifer strained to eavesdrop, but couldn't make out the women's words, despite Jane's loudly whispered instructions, "I want you to check my computer for unauthorized activity. Then shut it down. Make sure no one reboots it. I don't want anyone hacking into it again."

Lee asked if there had been another problem. Jane reassured her, "No, and there's not gonna be one as long as Brady, the Feds, and the Salem police don't get wind of what's gonna happen with Bo Brady tonight." Lee started to put her key back in the door, but Jane requested Lee's help with something else first. As soon as Jennifer heard the women walk away, she quickly opened up the accordion file. She spread out the contents, and began snapping pictures of with her cell phone.

Afterward, Jennifer returned to the Brady Pub. She furtively dropped Ben's keys on the bar, then took a seat at a table. As she was reviewing the photos she'd taken, Ben entered. He told Jennifer that he'd misplaced his keys, and asked if she'd seen them. She suggested that he check with the bartender. While Ben went to the bar, Jennifer hoped he wouldn't notice that the infirmary key was missing from his keychain. She noted to herself that she needed the help of a doctor to interpret the medical codes she'd found.

1/28 Hope was pacing on the boat as she waited for Jennifer to return, when suddenly she heard a cop on the deck above ordering, "Come out with your hands up!" Hope grabbed her personal belongings and hid behind a corner, as the officer climbed down the steps into the cabin. Hope prepared to bash the cop over the head with her flashlight, but he heard glass breaking above deck. "Damn. Crazy drunk must have gone onto another boat," he muttered. Hope heaved a sigh of relief when the cop left.

Jennifer explained to Carly that she had broken into the prison infirmary to look at the records of the women who had died mysteriously but the files were all in medical code. She needs Carly’s help to prove that the patients were killed and that would provide the necessary evidence to get the Carly looked at the pictures of the records that Jennifer had taken, but they were too blurry to read. Carly asked if she could see the originals, and Jennifer cautioned her that it was too dangerous. "I don't care, we need to help Bo and Hope!" Carly argued, so Jennifer agreed to take her to the prison.

When they reached the infirmary, Jennifer pulled the patient records in question out of the file cabinet. Carly quickly reviewed the files, and when she realized what the codes meant, she declared with dismay, "My God! I know what was going on here." Carly agreed with Hope's assessment that the women had died during surgery that should have been routine. Pointing to one of the medical codes, Carly explained to Jennifer, "That means that every patient was examined for organ donation... And coincidentally, they all signed up to be cremated." Jennifer was horrified to realize that the prison had been killing patients to sell their organs. She and Carly agreed that they had to report it, but then they heard Lee and Jane in the hallway outside.

Carly and Jennifer listened while Jane told Lee that she was on her way to get rid of Bo Brady. "With the help of certain officials, he'll be shot escaping the state police," Jane explained with a malevolent grin. "We'll do it out in a clearing near Route 55, where there won't be any witnesses." After Jane and Lee walked away, Carly wanted to head for the clearing right away. Jennifer insisted that they go together, but first she needed to call Hope. She told Carly to go back out the way they'd entered, and Jennifer would be right behind her.

Jennifer quickly dialed Hope, and told her what she had overheard the warden planning. Hope said that she would head to the clearing, and when she learned that someone on the police force was in on the plot, she told Jennifer to contact Rafe Hernandez for help. As Jennifer hung up, she heard Lee's voice demanding, "What are you doing with those files?" Lee ordered Jennifer to put down the phone. ‘

In the basement, Jane's henchman, state trooper Burt, handcuffed one of Bo's hands to a chair. He sarcastically promised to give Bo a head start before pulling the trigger. When Bo declared that Burt was a disgrace to the uniform, Burt hauled off and punched Bo in the face. Although Bo taunted him, Burt wouldn't take the bait. "You're trying to goad me into killing you right now; that way our cover story doesn't work," Burt guessed. "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but we're sticking to the plan. You're going to get shot evading arrest, a fatal wound straight to the brain."

Later, Bo let his head loll to the side, and with a moan, asked Burt for some water. Burt fell for it, and Bo used his free hand to punch Burt in the throat and nose, rendering the cop unconscious. Bo tried to free himself from the handcuff, but Burt woke up and used his pistol handle to knock Bo out. Jane arrived to find an angry Burt leveling his gun at Bo's head. "I'm getting really sick of this guy," Burt growled. "When do I get to take him out?"
Annoyed, Jane replied, "Right now, let’s go!"

When they got to the clearing, Burt asked if he should remove Bo's handcuffs, since they wouldn't match their cover story. "We'll get rid of them later. Just shoot the bastard!" Jane commanded. Hope arrived, and hid behind a tree, just as Carly crept up behind her. The two women watched in silent terror as Burt aimed his gun at Bo.

Ben called Jane's disposable cell phone, and was surprised when Lee answered. Lee explained that Jane was running an errand. Ben declared that he had a patient who needed a heart transplant immediately. Looking pointedly at Jennifer, Lee replied, "It's your lucky night, Doc. You'll have that heart within the hour."

1/31 At the prison, Lee told Dr. Ben Walters that he would get a heart for his transplant patient within the hour. Jennifer overheard her saying Ben's name. After Lee removed Jennifer's heart, Lee said, "Heart of gold you got there, girl. Heart of gold." Later, the inmate helping Lee informed her that Jennifer's heart was on the way to the hospital. Lee was pleased and planned to call the warden to fill her in.

Bird held Bo at gunpoint. Bo turned to face Bird, and Jane ordered him to turn around. Bo told her no and for Bird not to shoot him. Jane said that Bo was stalling and for Bird to just shoot him. Bo asked Jane how they would explain shooting him in the back and what they had done to his face. Jane said they would say that Bo was fleeing, so they'd shot him, and Bird said they would claim that Bo had jumped him, which was why Bo's face had been beaten.

"And we've proven that I can take you down, but there's two of you. Got the warden here, and I would definitely go after the big guy with the gun," Bo said. Carly, who was hiding in the bushes with Hope, nodded her head in agreement. Jane ordered Bo again to stop stalling. Carly screamed, and Bo grabbed Bird's gun. Bo put Jane and Bird in handcuffs. Bo asked how Carly and Hope had found him, and Carly said they would explain later. Jane said that Carly was guilty of aiding and abetting. They heard police sirens.

At the police station, Abe questioned Bo and Hope about what had happened. Abe explained how much trouble they were in, that Hope might never get out of prison, and Bo had risked everything. "To save my wife," Bo said. Hope told Abe that something bad was going on in the prison and that the warden was trying to kill her. She said that Jane and Bird's account of what had happened was a lie. Abe questioned Carly, who informed him that the prison ran a black market organ harvesting operation. Carly said that Jennifer had found proof that the warden was involved in something illegal. Abe said the police were on their way to Jennifer's house.

A police officer questioned Bo and Hope, and they insisted that there was something illegal going on in the prison. The officer said the kind of investigation Hope was calling for required a warrant, and the courts wouldn't give one on the word of an escaped inmate. Bo asked, "What about the word of a distinguished police officer with one of the best records in this police department?" The officer said that Bo was an accomplice trying to help his wife escape. Bo explained that the warden and a dirty cop had kidnapped Bo and beaten him up. Hope urged the officer to check the infirmary's records. Bo reminded the officer that a good detective would check the facts, and he alluded to the officer being a dirty cop.

Bo asked the officer to question Jane in front of them, and Bo would prove that he and Hope were right. Jane was indignant about being questioned by an escaped prisoner. Jane said that Bo had attacked Bird. Bo asked the officer if it seemed too convenient that Jane and Bird were together when they'd found Bo in the middle of the forest. Jane explained that she and Bird had been in close contact since Hope's escape and that Bird had found evidence that Bo was in the area and called Jane. She said she had every right to be there as an officer of the law, and she had hoped that Bo would lead them to Hope. The officer agreed with Jane's account.

Carly asked if she was under arrest, and Abe said they were waiting on everyone's statements. She asked to make a phone call. Carly called Daniel and informed him of the hospital's organ stealing scheme. 2/1 At the police station, a frantic Carly called Daniel to warn him about the body parts trafficking ring at the prison. Ben called out to Daniel that the heart had just arrived from the prison. As Daniel slowly turned, he saw Ben carrying a cooler. Daniel marched over to Ben and threw him against the wall. Startled, Ben asked Daniel what was wrong. Daniel asked Ben where he had gotten the heart from, and Ben said that he had received it through UNOS. Unfazed, Daniel grabbed the cooler and reviewed the paperwork. Daniel noted that the organ was from the prison. When Ben argued that his patient was going to die if they did not receive the heart transplant, Daniel asked Ben, "What about the patient who's already died?"

In the interrogation room at the police station, Jane told Detective Pierce that Detective Bart Stevens had located Bo and informed her. Jane argued that as an officer of the law, she felt it had been her duty to meet up with Bart and capture Bo. Bo argued that Jane had held him against his will but that he had been blindfolded so he had not known where he was being held. Jane argued that Hope had dragged her family through hell, causing Hope's face to falter. Bo stood up for Hope, but Jane noted that Hope was facing life imprisonment for her escape from prison.

While overseeing Detective Pierce's questioning of Bo, Hope, and Jane, Abe received a phone call from Daniel. Abe promised Daniel that he would send a police team over to the prison. Once Abe hung up his phone, he announced that Daniel suspected that someone at the prison was trafficking in illegal human organs. Jane expressed surprise, and Bo leaped on Abe's announcement, noting that it supported his statement to the police.

"Oh, my God. That's why those poor women died. You were selling their organs!" Hope cried out. Hope reasoned that Jane had locked Hope in solitary confinement in order to prevent her from saving the lives of any other prisoners. "Unfortunately, you're too late," Abe said sadly. Caught, Jane punched Detective Pierce in the stomach as he approached her with handcuffs. Jane snatched Pierce's gun then grabbed Hope and pressed the gun against her. "If I'm going down, she's coming with me," Jane growled.

Recalling her training, Hope elbowed Jane, taking her by surprise. The gun went off as they wrestled Jane to the ground. Down the hallway, a panicked Carly heard the shot and raced toward the interrogation room, looking for Bo. As Detective Pierce led Jane away in handcuffs, Bo took Hope aside and asked her if she was all right. Hope worries that Bo has gone through hell because of her. Carly appeared in the doorway and watched as Bo told Hope, “No, hell is living without you.”

As Carly entered the room, Hope turned to her and said, "I know how much you risked for us. For me. You can't imagine how grateful I am."

"I did what any woman would have done. You and Bo and Ciara, you're family," Carly said. Hope thanked Carly for taking care of Ciara while she was in prison. As Bo turned his attention to Jane, he informed Abe that he had heard her on the phone and that he believed Jane was working for someone. "He's right. So how about we cut a deal? I tell you who I work for, and I get to walk," Jane said. Jane promised that the name of her employer would be familiar to Bo.

When Bo and Abe stepped out of the room, an officer entered the interrogation room to talk to Jane. "Mr. DiMera sent me to deliver a message. Say one word about him, and you're dead," the officer said. When Abe returned to the room, he explained that he had secured approval to meet Jane's demands. With a nervous look on her face, Jane stammered, "The man I work for, his name is um, Dr. Ben Walters." As the police processed Jane, Abe informed Bo and Hope that the state attorney appeared to believe their story.

Hope was relieved that Bo would be heading home to Ciara. When Bo noted that Hope might be able to go home, Hope countered that she needed to finish her prison sentence. Hope worried that Jane might be able to hurt her even after the warden's arrest, but Bo assured Hope that he would do what he could to protect her.

2/2 At the police station, Daniel was on the phone with Melanie, who had found Jennifer's seemingly lifeless body in the prison infirmary after Lee had removed Jennifer's heart. Daniel asked a frantic Melanie if she had checked Jennifer's vital signs. Melanie was relieved to report that Jennifer had been hooked up to life support and Carly and Abe were relieved to hear that Jennifer was still alive.

In another room at the police station, Bo vowed to Hope that he would do everything he could to get the rest of her prison sentence suspended. She tried to argue with him, but he refused to let her be a martyr anymore, because she needed to fight for herself, for Ciara and for him. Carly entered to break the news to Hope about Jennifer. A devastated Hope blamed herself for having put Jennifer in danger. Bo and Hope were both stunned to learn that Ben Walters had been in on the organ harvesting scheme. Abe arrived to let them know that Daniel was on his way to the prison with Jennifer's heart, and to ask Bo to answer some follow-up questions.

After Bo left, Hope asked Carly nervously, "Could you tell me again what a good doctor Daniel is?" Carly reminded Hope that Daniel was an extremely talented doctor who could perform the surgery, if he arrived in time. Hope still blamed herself for getting Jennifer involved, but Carly countered that Hope had only wanted to save Bo. "You love him and he loves you, no matter how much you want to deny it," Carly asserted, fighting back tears. Hope prayed silently for God to help Jennifer. "I love her so much," an emotional Hope explained to Carly afterward, "She's like a sister to me. She can't die." Hope broke down, and Carly walked around the conference table to put her arms around Hope. The two women sobbed in each other's arms.

Ben was pacing in the interrogation room when a cop arrived with Lee. When they were alone, Ben asked what had happened with Jane, but Lee played dumb. Abe and Bo entered, and Bo grabbed Lee by the collar of her prison jumpsuit. Lee demanded her lawyer. "Fine with me," Bo growled, "We'll just sit here and pray that Jennifer makes it, because if she doesn't, I will not rest until there's a needle in your arm." Ben asked why Bo had mentioned Jennifer, and Bo replied with icy fury that the last heart Ben had purchased had been Jennifer's. Bo and Abe lit into Ben for his part in chopping up healthy women and selling their parts, but a horrified Ben insisted that he thought the women had died of natural causes. Lee urged Ben to shut up, while Bo spat at Ben, "You ordered human organs like you were at a drive-through window, never caring where they came from." While Lee pointed out that none of what Ben was saying was admissible, he insisted that he would never have done anything to hurt Jennifer.

After an officer took Lee to a holding cell, Ben pleaded with Bo and Abe to let him leave to save Jennifer's life. When Abe got a phone call from Roman, he explained that he'd pulled some strings to reinstate Roman on the case. Abe extracted a promise from Bo not to kill Ben, and then left the two men alone. Ben contended with more than a little arrogance that he was the best surgeon in the country. "Please, do not let your overinflated sense of authority keep me from my patient!" Ben shouted at Bo. Bo argued that Ben's greed was the only reason Jennifer had become a patient. Ben quietly maintained that he really liked Jennifer and would never have done anything to hurt her. He added that compared to him, Daniel Jonas was an amateur. Bo growled, "You really ought to listen to your partner in crime, and shut your friggin' mouth or I may not be able to keep my promise to Abe.”

2/3 At the police station, Carly and Bo waited anxiously for news about Jennifer's condition. Carly was shocked to learn that Dr. Walters had been involved in the organ harvesting operation. Carly told Bo that Ben had probably had no idea where the organs were from. "If he didn't know, it's because he didn't want to know," Bo insisted. Carly could tell that Bo was agitated, so she changed the subject. Carly told Bo about her heart-to-heart conversation with Hope. Carly admitted that she had felt a bond between herself and Hope due to their mutual concern about Jennifer. Carly said, "I think I got to see the real Hope. You know, the one who doesn't need pills. The one who hasn't gone off the rails." She then added, "We need to talk," but Abe interrupted their conversation with news about Jennifer's condition.

"Jennifer's still alive," Abe announced. "But it doesn't look good," he added with a heavy sigh. Abe explained that the heart transplant was taking longer than they had anticipated. Abe added that they had a helicopter waiting to transport Jennifer to the hospital as soon as they heard from Daniel. Carly worried that something had gone wrong and insisted that she should have been there to assist Daniel with the surgery. Abe assured her that he wouldn't have been able to release her from custody because they still needed to sort some things out. "I'm doing everything I can for your release, but it's complicated," Abe explained. Bo wondered what was going to happen to Hope. Abe apologized and said he wouldn't be able to get Hope released. Bo was worried that Hope would be sent back to the state prison, but Abe assured Bo that Hope would be sent to the county jail instead.

One of the police officers interrupted and announced that Daniel had called and had asked to speak to Carly. Carly was delighted to hear that Jennifer had made it through the surgery and was on her way to the hospital. Carly hugged Bo and informed him that Jennifer was going to be okay. While Carly and Bo celebrated, Abe left to handle the paperwork needed to get Carly released from custody. Once they were alone, Carly and Bo resumed their earlier conversation about Hope. Carly noted that she had realized that "the old Hope" was back. Carly added that she was aware that Bo had probably recognized that even before he had broken Hope out of prison. Bo tried to interrupt, but Carly insisted that she needed to say what was on her mind. "A lot of people said a lot of nasty things about me because I was with you when they wanted you to be with Hope," Carly said, and added, "But I knew that I hadn't come between you. I knew it was because the two of you couldn't be together. So I wasn't guilty."

"But now," she continued, "if I stay with you, I would be, 'cause things are very different now, aren't they?" Bo admitted that Carly was right. Carly smiled and told Bo, "Please be happy for the time we had together. I know I am." Carly assured Bo that she knew that he loved her, and that they would always share a connection. She shrugged and added, "But I guess it wasn't one of those 'forever' kind of thingies, you know? You have that with somebody else, Bo." Carly insisted that she didn't want Bo to feel guilty. Carly reminded Bo that she had been scared and miserable when she had arrived back in Salem, and assured him that he had helped her regain her strength and courage. Carly said that she would always be grateful to Bo for that. "And please don't be sad," Carly added, then insisted, "I'm not sad." Carly paused, then her eyes teared up slightly and she admitted, "I'm a little sad."

Carly recovered quickly and insisted that she was happy for the time that she and Bo had spent together. Carly noted that she and Bo had been through a lot and that they had always handled it with a certain amount of class. "So let's end it like that, classy,” she said with a smile. Bo joked, "If you really want to do this, is it wise for you to make me love you even more than I already do?" Before Carly could respond, Roman interrupted and informed Carly that she was free to leave. Carly said goodbye to Bo with a kiss on the cheek and whispered, "Thanks for the memories." Bo struggled to maintain his composure as Carly left the police station. Roman asked Bo if he was all right, but Bo assured his brother that he would be fine. Eager to change the subject, Bo asked Roman if he had spoken to the D.A. about Hope's case. Roman regretfully informed Bo that Hope's case was a sensitive issue politically, and no one at the D.A.'s office wanted to be the person to handle it.

Bo wanted to see Hope, but Roman said that her guards probably wouldn't allow that. Roman agreed to talk to Hope himself so that she would know how Jennifer was doing. "Let her know that I'm going to get her back with her family," Bo vowed. Later, Roman returned and said that he had delivered Bo's message to Hope. Roman smiled and added, "But I think maybe you got more to tell her. So since I'm back on the force, I pulled rank and arranged for you to see her tomorrow."

2/4 Maggie kissed Jennifer on the cheek as she lay unconscious in her hospital bed, and murmured, "We're here, sweetheart. We're waiting for you." Jennifer moaned softly. "Am I late for school?" she asked. A very relieved Julie rushed to her side.

"No, Jennifer darling, you're right on time!" Julie happily assured her niece. When Jennifer opened her eyes and saw her family, she asked where she was.
"You are with us, sweetheart," Doug replied, and a beaming Maggie added, "And we're not letting you go!"

2/7 At the police station, Hope told Bo that she missed Ciara, and Bo assured her that she would be with Ciara very soon. He said that Hope wouldn't go back to that prison. Hope said Bo should be getting an award, not jail time, for saving her life. Roman told Bo that Hope was right and that while Bo wouldn't be getting a medal, he wouldn't be going to jail.

Roman explained that the Governor wanted to put the prison scandal behind him and as long as Bo agreed not to talk to the press about what had happened, he would agree not to press charges. Bo assumed that Hope was free to go, too, but Roman said that wasn't the case. Bo said that if Hope couldn't go free, he didn't want to be free either. Hope objected to Bo's declaration. Bo said that Hope's experience dealing with the prison officials who were murdering women for their body parts should have accounted for something as far as letting her go free. Roman said Hope's case would be reviewed by a judge. Bo said that Hope would not be going back to that prison, because it wasn't safe there. Hope asked Roman to give her a minute alone with Bo. Hope told Bo to go home and be with Ciara and that Carly was probably anxious for him to get home. Bo said she wasn't because Carly was moving out.

Hope asked what had happened, and he said that Carly knew his heart belonged to someone else. He said he couldn't give Carly what she needed, and she deserved someone who could love her completely. Roman returned and told them that he was going to Sami's for Sydney's birthday party. He urged Bo to go home, see Ciara and get some rest, but Bo said that wouldn't happen until Hope got pardoned too. Bo assured Hope that he would find a way to get her back home without a prison break, and he assured her that they would face things together from then on, and he grabbed her hand. An officer told Hope that it was time to go. Hope asked Bo to give Ciara a hug and kiss for her. Then she asked if he had told Ciara that all the time. He said that Ciara always loved hearing it, and soon Hope would be able to tell her that herself.

Hope met with Justin, who filled her in on the case against Ben, Jane, and Bird. Justin said that Hope would be able to stay in lockup at the police station until the judge reviewed her case. Hope said that she was terrified by the thought of going back to prison, but the thought of going home scared her almost as much. Bo interrupted Justin and Hope to tell her that he had a surprise. He stepped out of the room, and returned with Ciara, who ran into Hope's arms. Hope noticed the locket that Ciara was wearing, and Ciara said that it made her feel better whenever she missed Hope. Ciara asked when Hope would be home.

2/11 At the courthouse, Hope and Bo waited for Hope's hearing to start. Hope admitted that she was scared, then added, "Not of going back to prison, that I can handle. I'm scared of having to say goodbye to Ciara again. And...." Hope's voice trailed off, then she recovered and explained that she had felt a connection with Bo while they had been hiding out that she hadn't felt in a long time. Hope changed the subject and asked Bo for an update on her case. Bo explained that Justin had met with the D.A. earlier to discuss Hope's charges. Hope reminded Bo that the D.A. had been one of her victims. Justin interrupted their conversation and regretfully informed Hope that the D.A.'s office had refused to negotiate a deal. "The hearing's still on," Justin added. Bo sighed and excused himself, explaining, "There's one thing I haven't tried yet." Bo headed to the Kiriakis mansion to pay Victor a visit.

After Bo left, Hope told Justin that she didn't believe that there was anything Bo would be able to do to help her. Justin warned Hope not to underestimate Bo. "Or his love for you," Justin added. Hope said that she wasn't sure if Bo still loved her or not. Justin wondered if Hope still loved Bo. "I've never stopped," Hope admitted. Carly interrupted Justin and Hope's conversation, so Justin excused himself to give Carly and Hope some privacy. Carly told Hope that she had taped a deposition in Hope's defense. Carly assured Hope that she had revealed everything that she could think of that would have helped Hope's case. Hope thanked Carly for her help, then confided, "I don't know if he'll ever be able to forgive me for what I've done to him." Carly said that she believed that Bo had already forgiven Hope.

Victor was on the phone when Bo arrived. "You look familiar. Do I know you?" Victor joked, but Bo made it clear that he wasn't in the mood for games. "I'd like you to help me get Hope out of the mess she's in, and I don't give a damn how you do that," Bo said. Bo told Victor about Hope's hearing. Bo explained that the judge that would be deciding Hope's fate was Edward "Maximum Ed" Callahan.

"You know, I gave him that nickname," Victor noted, referring to Judge Callahan's penchant for issuing the harshest possible sentence. Bo said that he had exhausted every other option, and he had reached a dead end. "So I'd like you to call your old pal, Governor Ford, and have him tell Callahan to back the hell off," Bo asked Victor. Victor was shocked by Bo's request. "You're asking me to do something outside the law," Victor observed.

"You know," Victor continued, "I don't know what's happening to this family. Your mother is hacking into computer records, Brady is pulling hostile takeovers, and now you arrive here with your little hat in your hand, asking me to buy a judge." Victor noted that Bo's request went against everything Bo stood for. Bo impatiently told Victor that he wasn't interested in a lecture , he only wanted to know if Victor was going to agree to help Bo or not. "In a word, no," Victor said.

Victor explained that he didn't want Hope to go back to jail, and admitted that he was heartened by the fact that Bo was willing to "sell his soul" for Hope. Bo wondered why Victor had refused to help if they were both in agreement that Hope shouldn't be sent back to prison. "Because Hope has this nasty habit of wanting to play fair," Victor reminded Bo. "It's the Horton genes," Victor added, "and the reason she loves you so much, the main reason, is because you feel the same stupid, misguided way."

Victor told Bo that Hope wouldn't be able to live with herself if she knew that Bo had compromised his integrity to save her. "But what I will do," Victor continued, "I will call Governor Ford on Hope's behalf and respectfully ask for a pardon." Victor assured Bo that he would not ask Governor Ford to do anything that Hope would consider shady. Bo thanked Victor, but reminded him of what was at stake. He worries that if Victor's tactics failed, Hope would be sent back to prison and Ciara would be forced to grow up without a mother.

Bo returned to the courthouse and told Hope about his meeting with Victor. As Victor had predicted, Hope was insistent about not wanting Bo to use Victor's power to circumvent the law. Before Bo could respond, he received a phone call from Victor. After Bo's conversation with Victor had ended, Bo regretfully informed Hope that the governor had claimed that Hope's case was "too loaded to intervene." Bo apologized for letting Hope down, but Hope insisted that she would never forget everything that Bo had done for her. Justin returned and announced that the hearing was about to start. *Note: We do not actually see the hearing, just them worrying and waiting for it to start, and then afterwards waiting for the judge to make his decision and Hope complementing Justin & Bo on how awesome they were (but we don’t get to see it)!

After the hearing, Bo, Hope, and Justin waited for the judge's ruling. Justin excused himself so that he could find out how long it would take the judge to make his decision. Bo asked Hope if he had seemed nervous when he was testifying. Hope assured Bo that he had seemed fine, and added, "I was looking at you up there on the witness stand, and I thought, 'That's the man that I never stopped."

Hope paused, and Justin returned before she or Bo could add anything. "Talk about record time," Justin said, then added, "Callahan has rendered his decision." Justin continued, "What Callahan said was, based on the police reports, and what happened at the prison, and on Bo's testimony, he’s reducing your sentence to time served."

Justin smiled and said, "Hope, you're free to go!” Hope tearfully embraced Bo as they celebrated Hope's freedom. Justin excused himself so that Bo and Hope could have some privacy. Hope thanked Bo for how much he has done for her, but Bo claimed that there was no reason to thank him. Hope insisted, "You've done so much for me." Bo shrugged and said, "Well, yeah. 'Cause I love you." She looks startled at this news. Before Hope could respond, Bo added, "Come on. Let's go home."

2/14 Hope suggested to Bo that they spend time with Ciara at the Brady Pub and then Hope would figure out where she would live, because she didn't want to go back to the house until she knew that they were back together for good. Bo said that Ciara wanted Hope to return home, but Hope said they couldn't be together only for Ciara's sake. Hope wanted assurances that they wouldn't repeat their mistakes. Bo asked if Hope was saying that she didn't trust that he wanted to be with her. Hope apologized. He asked her to look at him. He said that his being with Carly had made Hope doubt his love for Hope. He said that Hope had possessed his heart since the first day he saw her, and he appreciated Hope more and needed her in his life. Bo said he was lost without Hope, and she said she was lost without him too. Bo said it wasn't only about Ciara, and it never had been.

Bo and Hope reminisced about when they sailed around the world on the Fancy Face, and he told her that he wanted to start their lives as a family. Hope thought about when they boarded the Fancy Face with Shawn D. Bo said that life was simple then. Hope said that resentment had pushed her and Bo apart and that they had stopped trusting each other when they lost Zach. Hope said that she didn't believe they had really grieved Zach's death the way they had needed to, because they were too busy trying to figure out why it had happened and trying to make sense of something that made no sense. She said that had gotten in the way of them working through their pain. Hope wanted to work through their pain together. Bo said he was willing to do whatever it took, because he didn't want to be apart from her again. He said Hope had his heart and always would. Bo said he had missed Hope, and she said she had missed him too. Bo suggested they go home, and Hope agreed.

2/15 Bo led Hope back to their house. Overwhelmed with emotion, Hope admitted that she was thrilled to be home. As Hope smiled, Doug and Julie jumped out from the hallway with Ciara and yelled, "Surprise!" Ciara ran into her mother's arms, and Hope hugged Ciara tightly. Julie told Hope that Ciara had set up a Valentine's dinner for two in the dining room. Nervous, Hope looked toward Bo, and he shrugged in surprise. Bo sat down with his daughter and thanked her for the dinner. With a grin, Bo said that he wanted to have dinner with everyone.

Eagerly nodding, Ciara agreed and ran into the dining room to get more dinner plates. "I shouldn't have let Ciara get carried away with the Valentine's dinner," said Julie. With a smirk, Bo said, "Mmm hmm. It was all Ciara's idea." With a guilty smile, Julie grasped Doug's arm. Bo joined Ciara in the dining room, and Doug informed Hope that he had a plan for her. After dinner, Bo and Hope talked alone in the living room. Tired, Bo suggested to Hope that they "go to bed." Surprised, Hope suggested to Bo that they "go back in time." Hope held out her hand and introduced herself to Bo. Playing along, Bo shook her hand and asked Hope out on a date. With a smile, Hope asked Bo to give her a call sometime and then said goodnight.

2/23 Bo and Hope were having breakfast at the Brady Pub. Hope confided that it had been a huge relief when they had dropped Ciara off at school that morning to find that the other parents had been happy to see her. Bo noted that since he'd been suspended, the two of them could do whatever they wanted for the first time in a very long time. Abe arrived then with Theo, both of them dressed for Nicole and E.J.'s wedding. Abe was happy to see his old friends and that he and Theo had time to join them for breakfast and catching up.

Afterwards, Abe announced that it was time to leave, and wondered if Nicole and E.J. would actually make it to the end of the wedding ceremony. "I hope the two of them are as happy as they deserve to be," Hope declared, her eyes twinkling mischievously. On his way out, Abe stated sincerely, "It really was great bumping into both of you and having coffee. I'll never take it for granted again." Hope and Bo concurred with Abe that they shouldn't take things for granted. Bo noted that although he loved Abe and Theo, "They were kind of eating into our bowling time." Before Hope and Bo could head for the lanes, Ciara's school called Bo.

Soon, Ciara was under a blanket on the Bradys' couch, while her parents doted on her. The little girl apologized, since she knew that her parents were supposed to be on a date. Bo assured Ciara that it wasn't her fault that she'd gotten sick. Hope declared that there was nowhere else she'd rather be than at home with Ciara and Bo. After Ciara ate some soup, she asked for ice cream. "I thought you said you had a tummy ache," Hope noted. Bo tried to look stern as he asked if Ciara were truly ill. "I just wanted to be on your date with you," Ciara admitted sheepishly. Laughing, Hope scooped the girl up. "Why didn't you just say so?" Hope asked.

Soon, all three Bradys were snuggled on the couch, watching a movie and munching on popcorn. Bo grumbled that just because the lead in the movie was a handsome prince, it didn't make him a good guy. Ciara shushed her dad. Bo looked over his daughter's head at Hope, and whispered, "Not exactly what I had planned for today." Hope whispered back, "You know what? This is even better." Observing their exchange, Ciara beamed happily.

2/25 Roman went to Bo and Hope's because he hadn't been able to reach Bo's cell phone, and Bo wondered why Roman hadn't tried to get in touch with him another way. Hope practically skipped into the room, and greeted her brother-in-law with a hug. When she noted Roman's glum demeanor, she asked what was wrong. Roman declared that he had good news: the police review board had cleared Bo of all charges.

"The ruling says that they consider the jailbreak the equivalent of rescuing a hostage," Roman explained, adding, "You'll be reinstated in the morning, Commissioner Brady." Hope was elated, but Bo said that he was "waiting for the other shoe to drop." Roman admitted that although the board commended Hope for her work taking down the organ selling syndicate, they couldn't reinstate her to the police department, because she was still a convicted felon. Bo blew up, but Hope shushed him.

"It's fine, I’m actually happy. I'm glad I won't have to be a detective anymore," Hope maintained. Roman returned Bo's badge, and said that Bo could pick up his weapon the next morning. Roman cautioned that Bo's paperwork had piled up, because Roman had recused himself while the manhunt for Bo and Hope was going on, and Rafe had gotten in a car accident. Roman added that Rafe would get Hope's former position as detective when he returned to work. Hope was optimistic that everything would work out great.

On his way back out, Roman declared, "It's great seeing you two together, in the same house." After Roman had gone, Bo asked Hope how she was really feeling, since the ruling meant she could never be a cop again. Hope insisted that because of all the recent sadness in their lives, she wanted to look on the bright side: she was out of prison and Ciara had her mother back. Hope also wanted to look after Maggie and help Jennifer get back on her feet plus, being unemployed meant that she could spend more time with Bo.

Bo reminded her that his schedule would be very busy when he returned to work. Hope reassured him that she could handle it, and then got an inspiration of how to prove it. She went into the kitchen, and returned carrying a beer for Bo and wearing a frilly apron. Eyes twinkling, Hope promised to wear it every night when Bo returned home from work. Bo pulled her onto his lap, and kissed her passionately. Hope pulled away after a moment, and explained, "I guess I'm not ready for whatever is supposed to happen between us, what's supposed to happen next." Bo asked if she were okay with where they were at that moment, and she assured him that she was. When Bo went upstairs to check on Ciara, Hope picked up his badge and looked at it wistfully.

3/2 Hope arrived at Maggie's, where Maggie and Jennifer greeted her enthusiastically. Jennifer and Maggie had cared for Parker overnight, and both were glad that the baby had slept through the night. Maggie then left for the hospital, because Daniel had been called in on an emergency the night before. Hope informed Jennifer that Bo had gone back to work that morning. Jennifer expressed her regrets that Hope had lost her job, but Hope was cheerful about it. While Hope and Jennifer were chatting, Abigail called Jennifer, ostensibly from London. "Where are you?" Abigail demanded, noting worriedly, "I called the hospital, and they say you've been released, so I called Great-Gram's house, where you said you'd be staying, and there's no answer, all night long." Jennifer apologized for not telling her daughter where she had been, and explained that after being released from the hospital, she'd spent the night with Maggie. Abigail was just relieved that her mom sounded like she was back to normal again.

Later, Abigail surprised and thrilled her mom by showing up at Maggie's back door. "What you're in London!" Jennifer exclaimed as she embraced Abigail excitedly. As the two of them were catching up, Hope returned from checking on Parker, and she was just as astonished to find Abigail there as Jennifer had been. Hope hugged Abigail, and remarked about how grown up Abigail had become. Hope then made an excuse about something she needed to do, so mother and daughter could have some time alone.

When Hope and Julie met for coffee at the Java Café, Julie asked what Hope wanted to talk about. "What do I do with my life now that I can't be a cop?" Hope asked bluntly. Julie suggested that Hope should use it as "personal time" to do things like catch up with friends, read some books, and soon Hope's future would become clear to her. Hope noticed E.J. having breakfast with Johnny, and Julie pointed out, "Grizzly bears care for their young, too.”

Hope noted, "Not so easy to point the finger anymore when you have your own rap sheet." She continued that most of the women she'd met in prison had been abused, and had no family to turn to. "Why do I deserve to be so lucky?" Hope mused after recounting all the things she had that the other women didn't. "Because you are you," Julie asserted. Hope remarked, "Me. I'm not so sure who 'me' is anymore, that's the problem." After Julie left, Bo called Hope to cancel their lunch date. Hope reassured him that it was all right, and promised that she would order a fabulous dinner for them.

3/8 Hope visited Bo at the police station and took him lunch. After greeting Bo, Hope learned there was a problem with some equipment at the station. Familiar with the equipment, Hope cheerfully volunteered to help fix the problem. After Hope left, Bo attended to some paperwork as Carly entered the station. Carly handed Bo the coroner's report for a shooting case. Bo offered Carly his sympathy for Melanie's loss. "She's a fighter," Carly said softly. "Like her mother," Hope added as she walked up behind Carly. Called to work downstairs, Bo excused himself, leaving Hope and Carly to talk. Hope offered her sympathy for Melanie's miscarriage, and Carly thanked Hope for keeping Melanie in her thoughts.

"Bo did the right thing. The only thing. Leaving me to be with you," Carly said. Carly explained that her relationship with Bo had changed and that Bo's choice was a good thing because they had exposed an organ theft ring and reunited Hope with Ciara. "I can only imagine how hard it was for you to say that just now," Hope said. Carly admitted she wanted Bo to be happy and that he would be happy with Hope. Hope inquired about how Carly was doing. Carly deflected the question, then left the precinct, fighting tears.

When Bo returned to his desk, he was talking to Jocelyn about a case. Once Jocelyn walked away, Bo asked Hope what had happened with Carly. Hope told Bo about her conversation with Carly, and she grew teary-eyed. With a smile, Bo finished Hope's sentence saying, "You and I are meant to be." Hope’s beautiful eyes filled with tears as she nodded in agreement.

"I need you," Bo reassured Hope, as she sweetly put her arms around him and hugged him, the love for him all over her face. Hope started to leave, but curious about the Biltmore case Jocelyn had mentioned, Hope reminded Bo that she had worked on the Biltmore case previously. With Bo's blessing, Hope reviewed the file. Hope pointed out a suspect that she believed to be the shooter, then kissed her husband goodbye. He looks at her in stunned amazement as she solves a case that had stumped the rest of them! When Jocelyn returned, Bo informed her about the new suspect. She guesses that Hope came up with this lead. He laughs and agrees, “yep!”.

3/10 Justin and Adrienne shared a meal at the Brady Pub. Hope took their order out to them and interrupted them kissing. She explained that she was watching the pub so that Caroline could get some rest. Hope excused herself to give the couple some privacy, assuring them that she was pleased to see them back together. Later, Hope asked if Justin and Adrienne had shared the news of their reunion with their children. Justin admitted that they had not been able to get everyone together for long enough to make the announcement. Hope wondered if Justin and Adrienne were stalling for another reason. Before they could answer, Sami entered the pub and interrupted their conversation. Sami was delighted to see Hope. After a brief exchange, Sami asked about Caroline. Hope explained that Caroline was resting, so Sami asked Hope to tell Caroline that she had stopped by.

As Sami turned to exit the pub, Hope stopped her and asked if everything was all right. Sami admitted that something was wrong, but she said that she didn't want to bother Hope with her problems. Hope insisted that she would be happy to help her niece. Sami confided that her relationship with Rafe had been rocky since his accident. "I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I don't have the same feelings for him anymore," Sami said. Sami said that she had always believed that Rafe would never do anything to hurt her, but since the accident, he had been doing things that hurt her on a daily basis.

Sami told Hope about the accident and the MRI that had proven that Rafe was all right. Hope asked if Sami had talked to her mother about her concerns. Sami admitted that she hadn't told Marlena because she knew that Marlena would just tell her to be patient with Rafe. Sami added that Marlena would probably suggest therapy, but Sami wasn't optimistic about the chances of getting this Rafe to agree to see a psychiatrist. Hope suggested that Sami might want to convince Rafe to try hypnosis. Sami noted that she was usually the one that everyone had to be patient with. Hope pointed out that it might be Sami's turn to be the rock for a change. Sami admitted that she wasn't sure if she was strong enough for that. Hope said that Sami was strong enough to handle anything.

Hope told Sami that she knew how difficult it was to feel that the person that you were living with was a complete stranger. Sami nodded and wondered how things had been going between Bo and Hope. Hope smiled and admitted that things were getting better every day. After congratulating Hope, Sami sighed and confided that it was the exact opposite of her situation, every day, her relationship with Rafe was getting worse. Sami noted that she was not a quitter, and she vowed that she was going to do everything that she could do to make her marriage work.

3/14 At the police station, Daniel asked to speak with Bo privately. Then Daniel said that Bo was a "complete jerk." Daniel said he was worried about Carly, and Bo said he was too. Bo said he called Carly almost every day and left a message, but Carly didn't return his calls. "Why would she?" Daniel asked. Bo said the last thing he had ever wanted was to hurt Carly, but it was a complicated situation. Bo said he wished things had been different. Daniel admitted to being protective of Carly and realized it was foolish to confront Bo. Bo understood that Daniel was trying to help Carly. Daniel said that Melanie needed Carly, and that gave Carly purpose.

At the police station, McCarthy greeted Fake Rafe, and Bo said she had done all of Fake Rafe's paperwork while he was gone, so he had the only clean desk in the room. That helped Fake Rafe figure out which desk was his. Bo handed him a stack of cases from the morning, and said it was good to have Rafe back. Bo asked if Fake Rafe had returned the DiMera files he had taken home with him. Fake Rafe said he had forgotten the files at home and would return them the next day. He looked up his criminal file on the computer, which showed what he had looked like before he had plastic surgery to look like Rafe. Then Fake Rafe deleted his file.

3/24 At the Horton house, Theo and Ciara helped Bo and Hope carry some boxes into the living room. Hope explained that the boxes contained some of Alice's keepsakes. Bo told Ciara and Theo that they could go to the kitchen for some cookies while he and Hope looked through the boxes. After the children left, Bo and Hope flipped through a photo album and recalled their wedding in England. Bo told Hope that she had looked beautiful that day and, he added, every day since then. She points out that she can tell that she had been crying and remembered how hard it was for her to get through her vows that day.

Hope pointed out another photo and reminisced about their voyage on the Fancy Face. Hope told Bo that she remembered that she had felt extremely lucky to have married her best friend, and the sweetest, handsomest, sexiest…… She wishes to god the last year never happened and tells him how much she appreciates him. She wants to get back to those days, to those feelings. She asks him if they can please go back to those days. Hope apologizes and when he asks for what? She replies for everything. He observes that she is being way too hard on herself, though not unusual. Hope sighed and admitted that things had been much less complicated back then.

Bo pointed out that things had not always been easy at the start of their relationship, either. He reminds her that things between them in the beginning were complicated as she thought he was a “hot headed bad boy” and he knew she was a “rich, spoiled brat”. Hope recalled that she had tried to convince everyone, including herself, that she couldn't stand Bo with every ounce of her being. Bo admitted that he had been obsessed with Hope, even though he had tried to deny it during the early stages of their relationship and says how she had intimidated him. He says that he couldn’t get her off his mind.

Hope smiled and told Bo that he knew how to push her buttons and get a reaction out of her. She continues there had been times when she had been angry at him every minute of every day. Hope laughs that he used to call her “Little One” and how much she hated it. Bo noted that it had been their differences that had ultimately caused them to fall in love with each other. Hope told Bo that she loved him, and the couple kissed passionately. Ciara walked back into the living room with a plate of cookies; when she saw that her parents were kissing, her face lit up as she started to grin from ear to ear.

Unaware that Ciara had been watching them, Hope pulled away from Bo and said that she had been thinking about what had caused their marriage to fall apart. "Our initial problems started when we lost Zack, and then our marriage really fell apart, I mean, completely imploded, because of everything that happened with Ciara," Hope said. Bo agreed with Hope's assessment. Hope added that all of the resentment and anger that they had been harboring had reached a boiling point during that difficult time. Ciara hung her head in shame as she listened to her parents' conversation.

Ciara quietly exited the room before Bo and Hope even realized that she had been listening. After Ciara left, Bo pointed out that their daughter had been the one who had suffered the most. Bo assured Hope that they would be able to work through those issues. Hope agreed, but she reminded Bo that they needed to take things slowly this time so that they could get it right. Bo told Hope that there was no need to rush, they had the rest of their lives together to figure it out.

Later, Bo and Hope called out to Ciara and Theo, who were still in the kitchen, and told them that they were carrying some boxes out to the car and that they would be right back. After Bo and Hope left, Ciara entered the living room and watched them from the window; Theo followed her into the room and noticed that she was sad. Ciara explained that her parents had broken up because of her. "Now there's only one thing to do, I have to run away, so it won't happen again," Ciara said. Ciara made Theo pinky swear that he wouldn't tell anyone; Theo promised and said that he would run away with her.

3/28 Carly and Nathan tried to revive a patient, but the patient died anyway. Outside in the hallway, Bo was waiting to question Carly's patient, but she had to tell him that the boy had died. Bo said he was sorry. Bo continued to question Carly about whether the patient had said anything about who had shot him. Carly relayed to Bo that the patient had been scared and had asked her to help him because he didn't want to die. The mother of Carly's patient arrived, and Carly had to break the news to her. Bo asked Carly if she would be okay. Carly said she wasn't worried about herself.

Jennifer and Hope looked through boxes that were in Alice's attic. Hope thanked Jennifer for insisting that Hope and Bo go through the old photo albums, because it had drawn them together. Theo and Ciara overheard them talking, and Ciara said maybe they didn't have to run away after all. Jennifer told Hope that she had tried to fix up Daniel and Carly, but they hadn't appreciated it. Theo and Ciara ran into the room, and Hope said she needed to take the kids to meet Abe and Lexie. Ciara told Theo that as long as Bo and Hope were happy, they didn't need to run away.

Hope drove Ciara and Theo to the hospital, and Ciara asked if she could buy a doll she had seen. Hope reminded her daughter that they had already discussed how expensive the doll was and that Ciara was planning to buy it when she saved up her allowance. Ciara saw Bo, and he explained to Hope that he needed to fill out some paperwork regarding someone who had been shot in a drive by. Ciara asked Bo if she could buy the doll that she had just asked Hope for. Hope reminded Ciara that they had just talked about it. Bo was distracted with paperwork, so he told Ciara that he didn't see a problem with her buying the doll. Bo gave Ciara some money for the doll.

Hope asked to speak to Bo alone, and she explained they had made a deal last night that Ciara was going to buy the doll. Did he not remember? He groaned and Bo explained that he had been distracted, looking at the paperwork. Hope understood, but she said she would look like the bad guy if she was the only one saying no to Ciara. Bo agreed with Hope, and he said that if Ciara wanted something special from then on, Ciara needed to "save her pennies." Hope asked if he was upset with her and whether he thought she was being petty. He didn't think she was being petty, because there was nothing more important than raising their child. Hope said that he was a good dad. Bo felt that he and Hope had grown apart after losing Zach and after Ciara's kidnapping because they hadn't confronted their feelings and their differences, but they couldn't let that happen again, he said. Ciara assumed that Bo and Hope were sad again because of Ciara, and she thought she had to run away or they wouldn't be happy.

Bo and Hope handed the kids off to Abe, and Bo had finished his case work, so he suggested they spend some alone time. Abe ordered hot chocolate for Ciara and Theo at the Java Café. Ciara told Theo to keep his jacket on, because it was their chance to run away. Ciara plotted how to get away, but Theo said he couldn't leave his daddy. Ciara said it was okay for Theo to stay behind, because his parents were happy and would be sad if Theo left. Theo hugged Abe and Lexie when she walked in, and he told his parents that he loved them. Abe was perplexed by Theo's sudden show of affection. Ciara told Theo that she planned to run away the next day after school before Hope picked her up.

Bo and Hope took a walk by the pier, and they both agreed that they were in it together raising Ciara. Hope thanked him for being understanding. He said he wanted to spoil Ciara once in a while. Hope posed a scenario to him of Ciara bringing home a biker with long hair and an attitude when she got older. Bo said he would kick the guy's butt. He was confident that Ciara wouldn't date a hell raiser like him, and if she did, Bo would order her to her room. He determines she won’t date until she is maybe 45 and he just wants to enjoy this time together as a family. Hope suggested that they use some techniques that the therapist had suggested to help Ciara understand their point of view, but Bo had a better idea. He kissed Hope. Bo told Hope that Ciara would see that he and Hope were a team who loved each other and made all their decisions together. They kissed again, and Carly happened to be walking nearby and saw them, so she walked away. Bo told Hope that he wanted to take things to the next level whenever Hope was ready. She said she wasn't ready for that yet, but she believed that their best days were ahead of them.

4/1 Hope was helping Bo with a case at the police station when she realized that Jocelyn, a detective, was an hour late returning from picking up Ciara and Theo from school. Hope used a department phone to call Jocelyn to check in. "What do you mean, you can't find the kids?" Hope asked, alarmed. Bo rushed to Hope's side, while she asked Jocelyn to look in on the after school programs for the kids. Just as a panicked Hope was about to leave for the school, Jocelyn said that she saw Ciara and Theo. She assured Hope that the kids were fine, but hung up before Hope was finished asking questions.

As Bo put his arms around Hope, she admitted that she had immediately feared the worst, that they had lost their daughter. Bo tried to reassure her that everything was going to be all right. When Jocelyn arrived with Theo and Ciara, a relieved Hope ran over and hugged them both. Ciara instantly noticed that her mom had been crying, but Hope insisted that she was just glad to see the kids. Jocelyn divulged that when she had spotted the kids, they had been trying to scale a fence. Bo sternly asked the children why they had been climbing a fence at pickup time.

Ciara claimed that they had seen some older kids doing it and thought it would be fun, plus a little girl had dared Ciara and Theo to do it. Bo reminded his daughter that she knew she wasn't supposed to do things just because other kids told her to. Ciara promised she would never do it again, and apologized for making her parents mad. Taking Ciara in her arms, Hope assured the little girl that all that mattered was that the kids were safe. Bo shot Hope a disbelieving glare.

Bo asked Jocelyn if she would take the kids into an interrogation room for a few minutes. Theo fretted, "No jail! No jail!" Bo reassured the children that he just needed to talk to Ciara's mommy. Jocelyn led the kids away with promises to find some paper and pencils for them. Bo reminded his wife that she'd recently accused him of being too easy Ciara, but Hope had just essentially done the same thing. Hope conceded that Bo was right.

Jocelyn got Ciara and Theo settled in the interrogation room, and then left the kids alone to draw. Ciara whispered to Theo that they had almost gotten away. Theo insisted that he didn't want to run away, and begged Ciara not to go. As Ciara spied on her parents through the blinds, Theo noted, "Your mommy looks sad." Ciara declared that her parents were always sad because of her, and that was why she had to run away. Ciara began to cry, and Theo tried to comfort her. Ciara said, "Don't you see, Theo? That's why I have to run away. Mommy and Daddy can't be happy until I'm gone."

Bo thought that he and Hope should punish Ciara by not letting her go to a classmate's upcoming skating party and sleepover. Hope countered that the punishment was a little too harsh, especially after everything Ciara had been through the previous couple of years. She offered that they compromise and ground Ciara from the computer instead. Bo agreed.

4/8 Bo met a woman named Louise at the Brady Pub, along with her young daughter, Kim. Hope arrived with Ciara, who was not pleased to see her schoolmate. Kim defiantly declared that she had not dared Ciara to climb the fence at school. Ciara insisted that she and Theo would never have tried to climb the fence if Kim hadn't dared them. "I'm nice to you! All the other kids make fun of you because your mom went to jail!" Kim whined. Louise apologized for her daughter, and then the two of them left. Hope expressed how sorry she was that kids were still making fun of Ciara. Ciara maintained that she didn't care; she just wanted her parents to be happy and she didn't want her mommy to leave again. Bo and Hope reassured their daughter that Hope wasn't going anywhere. Hope encouraged Ciara to draw a picture for Grandpa Doug and Grandma Julie, with whom Ciara was going to spend the night. After Ciara had gone to find some paper, Hope fretted to Bo about what her time in prison had done to their daughter. Bo assured Hope that Ciara could handle the kids at school as long as she had a happy family at home.

After they had returned home, Hope went into the master bedroom to tell Bo goodnight. Bo was reading, a pair of glasses perched on his nose. Hope pronounced the reading glasses sexy, and then wished Bo a good night's sleep in the new bed. Putting his book down, Bo asked if she really wanted to continue sleeping in the guest room. Hope admitted that she didn't, and noted, "I was just thinking, we can't just put our family back together because it's what Ciara wants. We have to want it."

"I want you," Bo replied, gently pulling Hope into bed by the sash of her robe. Hope slid in next to him, tentatively at first, then she nestled her head on his shoulder with a contented smile. "I was afraid that we'd never be this close again," she whispered. Bo asked if she thought it was too soon, or if she wanted to talk. "I think we've talked enough," Hope murmured. Beaming, Bo slipped her robe off of her shoulders, and kissed her tenderly. After they made love, Bo said that he couldn't wait to pick up Ciara the next morning. "Think she'll see the difference? Are we glowing?" Hope asked, grinning. "I think she'll know without us telling her that this is like a new beginning," Bo declared softly.

Meanwhile, Ciara was in bed at Doug and Julie's, using a flashlight to look at a map. As she pointed out a lake to her stuffed bear, she explained, "Me, Mommy, and Daddy used to have fun at that lake. But we don't have fun anymore, because I'm always getting in trouble. It'll be better when I go away."

4/13 At Bo and Hope's house, Bo recalled making love to Hope the previous night. Hope walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around him; Bo smiled and leaned in to kiss Hope passionately.

Later, Ciara returned home; Hope hugged her and asked if she had enjoyed her visit with her grandparents. Hope started to explain that she and Bo had something that they wanted to discuss with Ciara, but Theo entered and interrupted their conversation. Hope assured Ciara that they would continue their discussion later. After Hope left, Ciara gave Theo her interpretation of Hope's announcement. "My mommy and daddy are getting a divorce...'cause of me. They're gonna tell me after school, so we have to run away today and this time, we can't get caught," Ciara explained.

Later, Hope placed camping supplies into a backpack as Ciara watched quietly from the staircase. When Hope was finished, Ciara claimed that she had promised to take her tea set to school for show and tell. Hope reminded Ciara that they had packed that tea set away in the attic because Ciara had not been using it. Ciara insisted that she had promised to take it to school, so Hope excused herself so that she could go to the attic and retrieve it. Hope told Ciara to let Bo know that he would need to wait a few minutes before he could leave to take them to school. After Hope left, Bo returned and said that he was ready to leave. Ciara told her father that Hope had gone to the attic to find Ciara's tea set; Ciara claimed that Hope had agreed to drive them to school herself. Ciara assured Bo that it would be all right for him to leave without them.

Bo started to go upstairs to tell Hope that he was leaving, but Ciara stopped him and assured him that she would pass his message on to Hope herself. Bo shrugged and gave Ciara a hug, then turned and walked out the door. After Bo left, Ciara told Theo to grab the backpack that Hope had been packing earlier. Ciara said that it would be a perfect backpack for a camping trip. Ciara rushed to the door and confirmed that Bo had left. "Now we can go out the back so no one can, no, wait, there's a truck outside. They're picking up branches from the storm last night; we can ride on the truck," Ciara told Theo. Ciara and Theo quickly left the house and hopped onto the bed of the truck to hide under the foliage. Meanwhile, Hope returned to the living room and called out for Ciara and Theo. When the kids did not respond, Hope assumed that Bo had already taken them to school.

When Bo returned to the house to grab his coat, he was surprised to find that Hope had not left yet. Bo and Hope quickly realized that they each believed that the other person had been watching the kids. Bo explained that Ciara had claimed that Hope had decided to take them to school; Hope assured Bo that she had never agreed to do that. Hope realized that their backpack was missing; she and Bo frantically started to search the property for Ciara and Theo. "They'll never find us, now Mommy and Daddy won't be sad ever again," Ciara told Theo as the truck drove down the road.

4/14 Bo and Hope frantically searched for Ciara and Theo. "No sign of Theo or Ciara out front, down the street, anywhere. You know, I wasn't gone that, it's like they vanished," Bo said as he struggled to catch his breath. Hope wondered why Ciara had taken the backpack that had contained the camping supplies. Bo suggested that Ciara had decided that the camping equipment would have been better for show and tell. Bo reasoned that Ciara had lied to her parents because she had known that they would not have permitted her to take the camping equipment to school. Bo called the school to see if the kids had made it there; meanwhile, Hope started to call their neighbors. When they realized that Ciara and Theo were not at school, Hope tried to call Ciara's cell phone. Bo noted that the tracking device that they had placed in Ciara's phone would only activate itself if Ciara placed or received a phone call.

Ciara and Theo trudged through the woods. "We're really a long way from home, this is like the country," Ciara said. Theo agreed as he dropped their backpack on the ground. "This is a good place for us. It's not nice like at home, but now that I'm gone, Mommy and Daddy won't have to fight anymore," Ciara said. Ciara's phone started to ring; Theo urged Ciara to answer her phone, but Ciara said that she didn't want to talk to her mother. Ciara explained that her parents would get divorced if Ciara returned home. "They'll never get back together as long as I'm there," Ciara said. Theo admitted that he was scared. Ciara told Theo that he could go home if he wanted to, but Theo insisted that he wasn't going to leave his friend alone. Theo said that he would protect Ciara. "When Mommy and Daddy find my note, they'll know they won't have to fight anymore. They'll be happy because I'm gone for good," Ciara quietly stated.

Meanwhile, Bo rushed off to the park to see if Ciara and Theo had gone there to set up their tent. Hope went upstairs to check Ciara's room. Later, Bo returned and called out for Hope; Hope walked down the stairs with a dazed expression on her face, as Bo explained that he had not been able to find the kids at the park. Bo noticed that Hope was holding a piece of paper. Hope handed the paper to Bo and explained that she had found it under Ciara's pillow. The letter had been written with a red crayon; slight errors in the letter suggested that a child had written it. The letter read, "You are sad and I want you to be happy. So I am going to run a way so you both can be happy again. I am sorry that I made you want a duvors. I love you so much. Love, Ciara." Ciara had signed the letter with a heart. After a moment of stunned silence, Bo said that he would call the station and ask them to put out an APB on Ciara and Theo. Meanwhile, Hope called Lexie and in an ominous tone told her there is something she has to tell her.

Bo told Hope that none of the police officers had seen the kids. Bo assured Hope that it would only be a matter of time before someone found Ciara and Theo. Before Hope could respond, Lexie and Abe arrived. Hope embraced Lexie and apologized for Theo's disappearance. Lexi is very calm and reassures Hope that they will find the children. Hope said that she and Bo had been planning to tell Ciara that they were going to be a family again; Hope wondered what had caused Ciara to believe that Hope and Bo had been planning to get a divorce. Lexie comforted Hope and assured her that they would find Theo and Ciara.

4/15 At Bo and Hope's house, Lexie wondered if Theo was all right as she seems increasingly worried. Abe assured Lexie that Theo would be okay because he was with Ciara. "Oh, I'm sure she'll be a great comfort to him, Abe! Our son won't even go on a sleepover, and now he's run away?" Lexie said as her frustration grew. Bo noted that the kids could not have gone very far on their own, but Lexie wasn't convinced. Lexie pointed out that someone could have picked them up, or they could have boarded a bus or a train. Bo assured Lexie that someone would have noticed two kids who had been traveling without adult supervision. "Ciara talked him into this. Theo was fine, he was happy, he was doing well in school. He never would have run away if your daughter hadn't forced him to," Lexie snapped.

Dvd #80B Hope begged Lexie not to blame Ciara; Hope said that Ciara was just a very unhappy little girl. Lexie apologized and conceded that Theo had gone with Ciara not because he was unhappy but because he had not wanted Ciara to be alone. Abe agreed; he added that Theo would have done anything for Ciara. In the woods, Theo told Ciara that he wanted to go home, and he was scared. Ciara said that they couldn't go home because the truck that they had stowed away on had taken them too far away from Salem. Ciara reminded Theo that her parents would never be happy together if she returned home. "But I want my mommy and daddy," Theo insisted. Ciara assured Theo that they would be all right; before Theo could respond, some leaves started rustling nearby. Roman arrived and announced that they had not found any sign of the kids in the neighborhood. Hope told Lexie that they would be able to use the tracking device in Ciara's phone to locate the kids if Ciara placed or received a phone call. Lexi and Abe left for the hospital to see if they had been brought there. Roman received a report that two kids around the right age had been admitted to the hospital. They all rushed out to check. Unfortunately, when everyone arrived at the hospital, they learned that the lead had been a false alarm as they were children injured in a car accident. Hope tried to call Ciara again. Theo was excited by the presence of a deer near their campsite. Ciara pointed out that the deer had not tried to bother them; she reiterated that there was no reason for them to be scared. Ciara's phone rang; Theo suggested that they should answer the phone, but Ciara reminded him that they couldn't do that. "Don't answer phone...don't answer phone," Theo said as he repeated the phrase like a mantra. Ciara added that she wasn't going to listen to any of the messages that her parents had left for her, either. As Ciara stared at her phone and walked around the campsite, she tripped and hit her head on a nearby rock. Theo gently shook Ciara and told her to wake up. Ciara's phone started to ring as Theo attempted to rouse his friend. "Don't answer, don’t answer," Theo repeated as he looked at Ciara's phone. Bo and Hope returned home and turned on their laptop. Bo logged into Ciara's email account and started to read the messages that Theo and Ciara had been sending to each other. Bo and Hope were disappointed to learn that Ciara and Theo had discussed their plans, but they had not mentioned where they had been planning to go. Abe and Lexie returned to Bo and Hope's house. Bo said that he was going to help Roman with the field search; Hope tried to call Ciara again, and prayed that she would answer. 4/18 Hope tried to call Ciara again. Hope admitted that she was worried that something might have happened to the kids. Bo pointed out that Ciara might have forgotten to turn her phone on. Bo assured Hope that everything was going to be all right. Bo apologetically stated that he needed to check in with Roman; Hope promised that she would be okay by herself. After Bo left, Julie arrived at the house and assured Hope that Ciara would be fine. Hope sighed and admitted that it was nice to be with someone who was so certain that everything was going to be all right. Julie said that it would have been easy for someone to lose their faith if they had been through everything that Hope had been through. "Sometimes it's difficult to believe again, to find your faith again. So please, take some of mine. I truly believe that Grandma and Grandpa, and our mother and Zack, are up there watching over Ciara and Theo," Julie said. Julie said that her prayers for Hope had been answered. Julie stated that she was confident that their prayers for Ciara and Theo would be answered, too. Julie excused herself so that she could prepare a meal for Hope. Hope stepped outside and looked up at the sky; she prayed that Ciara would return home before the sun had set. In the woods, Ciara regained consciousness; she told Theo that her head hurt. Theo forgot that he had been holding the phone in his hand; as he tried to help Ciara to her feet, the phone fell to the ground. Ciara reiterated that the rock had hurt her head. Theo said that he was scared, but Ciara insisted that she would be okay. Theo said that he was going to call his father. Theo realized that he had lost Ciara's phone. Theo looked around the campsite and found the phone, but the battery had fallen out of it. Ciara said that the phone had been broken. Ciara tossed the phone into the woods and assured Theo that they would be fine without it. Later, Ciara realized that they were almost out of cookies. At the Brady Pub, Roman informed Bo that Abe had ordered an Amber Alert. Bo apologized to Abe for what had happened. Bo said that he was certain that they were going to find the kids and that Ciara and Theo would be all right. Bo admitted that he was concerned about Hope. Abe offered to help Roman with the search himself so that Bo could stay with Hope. Bo explained that he didn't want Hope to think that he had been babysitting her. Bo said that Hope knew that he was not the kind of guy who would just sit by the phone and wait for information. Bo stated that he had wanted to show Hope that he was confident that she could handle the situation on her own. Back at the hospital, Bo walked into the waiting area as Victor and Stefano started to place calls to their various contacts. Bo told Stefano and Victor to put their phones away because they were going to handle the search his way. Bo said that he did not want anyone to learn that the missing kids were related to Stefano and Victor. "Because as you know, that would make things much worse. And I don't want your employees helping out. Amateurs almost always move too quickly; that would muck things up. Bottom line -- the two of you do nothing," Bo said. Stefano insisted that he did not have to listen to Bo. Lexie warned Stefano and Victor to back off and follow Bo's instructions. Bo promised Victor and Stefano that he would find the kids. 4/21 At Bo and Hope's house, Bo told Hope that a sergeant from the nearby town of Friedmont had given them a possible lead on Ciara and Theo's location. Bo excused himself and rushed off to follow up on the lead. A short time later, Bo returned to grab a photograph of Ciara. On his way back out the door, he ran into Carly. Carly walked into the house and explained that she had been worried about Ciara. Bo tried to respond, but Carly continued to talk; she insisted that she would do whatever she could do to help with the search. Carly wrapped her arms around Bo's neck and hugged him; meanwhile, Hope walked down the stairs and witnessed the embrace. Carly rushed over to hug Hope. Carly reiterated that she wanted to help with the search. Carly started to cry as she admitted that Ciara had always treated her with more kindness than she had deserved. Justin and Daniel interrupted and asked if there had been any news about the kids. Bo tried to explain that they had a lead, but Carly interrupted him. "Oh, God, that's wonderful! Ciara needs to be safe, she has to be safe!" Carly shouted. Later, Adrienne arrived and comforted Hope. Bo received a phone call from the station. Bo apologetically revealed that the Friedmont lead had been a false alarm. 4/25 Lexie stopped by to see if Hope had any news on Ciara and Theo's whereabouts. Lexie blamed Hope for the kids being missing. Hope said that she and Bo knew what Ciara had been through, and they were working it out. She said that Ciara thought that Ciara was the reason Hope and Bo were having problems, and Hope wished Ciara had said something. Lexie asked when, between Bo's relationship with Carly and Hope being sent to jail, Ciara was supposed to tell Hope that she had a problem. Abe interrupted them and told them that they might have a lead on the kids. Abe said that a landscaper had been working on Hope's neighbor's yard and had seen the kids hanging out near the landscaper's truck. When the neighbor arrived, Hope asked the neighbor to accompany her while she informed Bo. Abe left with the neighbor, and Lexie apologized for saying hurtful things to Hope. Hope understood why Lexie was so angry, and Lexie said she knew how hard Hope and Bo had worked to keep Ciara's world from falling apart. Lexie was worried that she would never see Theo again. Hope assured Lexie that they wouldn't stop looking until the kids were home safe. Meanwhile, the kids had gotten off the truck they were riding in and met a young teen runaway, who threatened to call their parents. The kids begged her not to call their parents, because they couldn't go home because it was bad there. The runaway said she thought she'd had it bad at home, because her parents had ordered her to break up with her boyfriend or they would kick her out. The kids informed her that they were camping in the woods and went into town to get something to eat. The teen offered to help the kids get money if the kids did something for her. The kids introduced themselves to Leah, who gave them some food. In exchange, Ciara offered Lead her necklace. Leah noticed the necklace was really expensive. A cop asked Leah why she wasn't in school, and she dropped the necklace on the ground. The officer picked it up. 4/26 At the Brady house, Hope received a tip from a neighbor that a landscaper had been in the neighborhood around the time that Theo and Ciara had gone missing. Hope traced the landscaper truck back to Centerville. Bo received a call from the Centerville police. The police explained that they had picked up a homeless girl who had Ciara's necklace. Filled with hope, Bo and Hope raced to Centerville. At the Centerville police station, Bo and Hope examined the necklace that the police had found on a homeless girl named Leah. Once Hope confirmed the necklace was Ciara's, Bo questioned Leah about Ciara and Theo. Reluctant to talk to the police, Leah asked Hope if she was the woman in the news that had attacked the men in Salem. Bo promised Leah that he would protect her and help her get back on her feet. When Leah remained quiet, Bo threatened to talk to Leah's pimp and inform him that Leah was keeping money for herself. Scared, Leah admitted that she had seen Ciara and Theo behind the Silver Diner before they walked off into the woods. Along the side of the road, faux Rafe was working on the engine of his car when he heard a noise. Faux Rafe poked his head out from underneath the hood and spotted Theo and Ciara emerging from the woods. Theo explained that they were running away, and Ciara asked faux Rafe not to tell anyone that he had seen them. Faux Rafe countered that he would keep their secret if Ciara and Theo promised not to tell anyone that they had seen him. Ciara agreed, but Theo refused, noting that he did not want to lie. Faux Rafe threatened Theo to do things his way "or else." Theo yelled that he would not lie, and then he started to run away. Faux Rafe grabbed Theo by the arm and said, "You're not going anywhere!" As faux Rafe tightened his grip, Bo ran out of the woods by the car. 4/27 On the side of the road near the woods, Ciara urged Theo to promise Rafe not to tell anyone that they'd seen him. "No! I want to go now!" Theo declared angrily, and began to storm away. Just as faux Rafe grabbed Theo firmly, Bo ran out of the woods. "Daddy?" Ciara shouted. Bo rushed over and embraced his daughter. His voice breaking with emotion, he reassured her that none of her parents' problems were her fault and that they would never be happy if Ciara weren't there, because they loved her very much. On the other side of the car, faux Rafe scowled and rolled his eyes, while Bo praised Theo for being such a true and loyal friend to Ciara. Bo then admonished the kids that running away was never the answer, no matter what the problem was. Theo echoed Bo's words, and Ciara promised never to do it again. Bo called Hope to tell her that the children were all right, and then put Ciara on the phone. An utterly relieved Hope said how much she loved her little girl. Bo took the phone back, and promised to hurry home. When Bo and imposter Rafe returned to the station with the kids, Hope smothered Ciara with hugs and kisses. Theo and Ciara announced that they were hungry, so Hope took them to get something to eat. Faux Rafe stayed behind with Bo, who wanted to know how Rafe had found the kids even before Bo could follow up on the lead he'd gotten from a runaway girl. Phony Rafe explained that after Roman had refused his request for a leave of absence, he had decided to look for the kids on his own. Faux Rafe continued that he'd remembered a case from his rookie year where a missing kid had stowed away on a delivery truck, and that was how he'd found Ciara and Theo. Bo wanted to know why he'd seen Rafe gripping Theo so tightly, and imposter Rafe claimed that he'd feared Theo might run again. Bo shook faux Rafe's hand and thanked him sincerely. When Bo and Hope arrived home with imposter Rafe and the kids, Abe and Lexie were waiting for them. Theo ran over and gave big hugs to his mom and dad. Lexie offered heartfelt, tearful thanks to Rafe for returning the children safely. Everyone but Hope, Ciara, and faux Rafe then went into the kitchen to get some cupcakes. Imposter Rafe wanted to leave, but Hope asked him to stay. Hope then sat Ciara down, and reassured the little girl that her mommy and daddy loved her and wanted her there more than anything. "Daddy and I are back together, and we're happy. We're really, really happy! And you're a big part of that," Hope enthused. Ciara replied, "I thought I was trouble." Hope assured her that it had all been a big misunderstanding, and urged Ciara to talk to her parents if she were ever worried about something again. Later, when faux Rafe was alone with the kids for a few minutes, he explained to them that what had happened in the woods had just been a misunderstanding. Ciara was skeptical when phony Rafe insisted that he had been looking for them, and then he had found them. He got her and Theo to giggle by playfully dabbing cupcake icing on Ciara's nose, and they dropped the subject. As imposter Rafe was saying goodbye to Hope, Bo stopped him at the door. Bo explained that Rafe couldn't begin his leave of absence until he'd gone to the station to give his official statement. Meanwhile, the real Rafe heaved himself, battered and bruised, out of the river and onto the bank. 4/29 At Bo and Hope's, a reporter took pictures of Abe shaking imposter Rafe's hand for finding Theo and Ciara. Afterward, faux Rafe was ready to leave, but suddenly, Sami showed up. When the others went into the kitchen to give Sami and Rafe some privacy in the living room, Sami congratulated her "husband" on finding the kids. She then asked about Rafe's requested leave of absence. Phony Rafe claimed that he'd just planned to leave town for a while to clear his head, but then the kids had gone missing. Sami confessed that she had missed Rafe while she'd been at Eric's, and asked if they could go home together to talk about things. As the others returned just then, Theo shouted, "No, Rafe! Go away now!" Lexie and Abe apologized for their son's behavior, but Sami assured them that she understood. Lexie and Abe started to take Theo out through the kitchen, but fake Rafe asked if he could have a minute with the boy to try to clear things up. Faux Rafe assured the kids that he had just been trying to make sure they got home safely, but Theo complained that he just wanted to go home. Lexie gave imposter Rafe a grateful hug, and then the Carvers left. Sami suggested that she and Rafe should give the Bradys some privacy, and the two of them left together. Once they were alone in the house, Hope, Bo, and Ciara discussed what to have for their celebratory dinner. Bo then commented that Theo didn't seem to like Rafe. Ciara admitted that Rafe was mean to kids unless grownups were around. After Ciara had gone to bed, Bo and Hope discussed what Ciara had said about Rafe. Bo noted that Rafe had not been acting like himself since the accident. The Bradys agreed that they felt bad about what Sami was going through. Bo and Hope then happily concurred that since their daughter had finally returned, they were looking forward to putting their family back together. 5/13 At the police station, Hope entered Bo’s office and found him going over paperwork. He distractedly asked her to let him just finish up the file he was working on, and then they could go to lunch. Hope pointed out that he was actually late for dinner. Rubbing his eyes tiredly and looking at his watch in surprise, Bo apologized, but Hope smiled and said that it seemed like old times. She picked up a file to help him out, and noted that the paperwork was incredibly sloppy for a former FBI agent like Rafe. Bo guessed that Rafe had taken a leave of absence once he’d realized he was no longer up to the job. Hope wondered what had really happened the day Rafe had found Ciara and Theo. Bo replied that he’d been thinking about Theo’s reaction to Rafe, and about what Ciara had said about Rafe only being nice to kids when no adults were around. Hope then showed Bo a file that indicated that Rafe had messed up the chain of evidence on a case. Bo thought that things could only get better since Rafe had left, but Hope was worried about Sami. Bo and Hope arrived at the Cheatin’ Heart, and greeted Justin and Adrienne with warm, congratulatory hugs. When Adrienne and Bo each had to deal with some business issues, Hope thanked Justin for his support and friendship while she and Bo had been apart. She added remorsefully that she felt she might have unfairly led him on. Justin reassured her that although they had both been a bit lost at that time, they had ended up with the people they were meant to be with and the two of them were still, and would always be, great friends. 5/17 At the Brady Pub, Jennifer opened the envelope and looked at the papers inside sadly. Hope arrived just then, and immediately recognized what the papers were. "I'm free. I'm not married anymore," Jennifer declared, fighting to smile instead of cry. Hope put her arms around her cousin comfortingly. Jennifer admitted that she'd thought the divorce would help her stop worrying and wondering about Jack, but she still couldn't stop thinking about him. Hope wished that she could help take Jennifer's pain away, and gently reminded her, "Remember what Gran used to say to us? 'And this shall pass, too.' And it will; I promise you." Jennifer tearfully expressed her gratitude to Hope, and then determinedly wiped away her tears with a napkin so she could meet Daniel for their date. Later, Hope was surprised to find Daniel at the hospital when he was supposed to have been hiking with Jennifer. Clearly disgruntled, Daniel admitted that Jennifer had broken their date. Hope informed him that Jennifer had just gotten her divorce papers, and Daniel's demeanor instantly softened. He asked Hope to tell him about Jack. Hope acknowledged that Jack could be a lot of fun, but he was a bit detached where friendships and other relationships were concerned. Daniel asked whether Jack had truly loved Jennifer. Hope assured him that Jack and Jennifer had been very much in love for a very long time, and Jennifer had kept him grounded, until she couldn't. Daniel confessed that he just didn't understand how anyone could abandon a woman as amazing as Jennifer. Hope confided that no one did, especially Jennifer. Jennifer opened the door to leave the room just in time to overhear Hope declaring that she would like to track Jack down and strangle him. Jennifer ducked back inside to eavesdrop, and heard Daniel singing Jennifer's praises to Hope. He reiterated how terrific he thought Jennifer was, and how he didn't get how Jack, or any man, could just let her go. Daniel added that he had deduced that Jennifer believed she had failed, and that was why her marriage had failed, and why she didn't want to get involved with anyone yet. Hope urged Daniel to give Jennifer time. They agreed that they just wished Jennifer could see herself the way everyone else saw her. Jennifer quietly closed the exam room door, and left by the room's other exit. Hope asked Daniel how he was handling things since his divorce. He confided that he was really more worried about Chloe, especially since she had lost her son. He added, "She's not in a very good place right now, obviously. But I can see pretty clearly now how she can so easily just go of the rails and make the wrong decision." 5/18 At Maggie's, Ciara and Hope were helping Maggie gather some old clothes to donate to charity. While Ciara went upstairs to retrieve some more items, Maggie admitted that she'd been putting off getting rid of Mickey's things for too long. When Maggie pulled Mickey's old fishing hat out of a box and reminisced about it, Hope recognized how sentimentally attached to the hat Maggie was. Hope offered to send the hat to Shawn and Belle, who were deep-sea fishing off the coast of Mexico. She insisted that Shawn would be more than honored to wear his great-uncle's hat. Maggie gratefully agreed. Maggie then admitted that even though it had been over a year since Mickey's death, she was still grieving. She knew that Mickey would want her to have as much joy in her life as possible, so she'd tried to make herself move forward, but she'd realized that she was never going to find love again. Since Mickey had been the love of her life, Maggie explained, even the thought of loving someone else felt disloyal, so she had decided to focus on her friends, family, and her beautiful memories. Hope was surprised to find a gorgeous evening gown, with the tags still on it, in one of Maggie's boxes. Maggie explained that she'd purchased it for the cruise that she and Mickey had never gotten to go on, and since she would never get to wear it, she thought it should go to someone who could use it. Hope tried to encourage Maggie to believe that love could happen a second time even to someone who'd experienced such a great love, and not to give up. Maggie irritably declared that Victor, not she, had been the one who had given up. Hope was taken aback that the rumors were true that Maggie had been seeing Victor. Maggie confided that she had thought the relationship might become serious, but it hadn't. The women compared notes about the curmudgeonly Victor, as well as the softer one who only showed his face to a select few. Maggie admitted that she'd let herself hope, after seeing so much of Victor's gentler side, that something more might blossom between them, but then Victor had declared that Maggie had "certain standards of conduct that were just too high." Ciara ran back into the room just then, and told Maggie that they were headed to Victor's next to pick up some of his old clothes. The tot invited Maggie to join them, but Maggie politely declined. 5/24 Bo was walking toward the pub when he received a phone call from Sami. Noting that Bo had a different perspective on Rafe, Sami asked Bo about Rafe's job performance. Though reluctant to say anything negative, Bo admitted that Rafe was performing poorly at work. When Sami asked Bo about Rafe's involvement in the recovery of Theo and Ciara, Bo explained that he did not know why Rafe had been in Centerville. "That's where he found them right after he told your dad he didn't have time to look for them," Bo said. Bo added that Theo and Ciara had experienced an intense reaction to Rafe. Bo explained that Theo had been upset and that Ciara had commented that Rafe was only nice to kids when adults were around. When Bo apologized for telling Sami all the bad news, Sami thanked Bo for the information. Gently touching Abigail's arm, Carly instructed Abigail not to tell anyone what Carly was doing for her patient. "Not to tell anyone about what?" Bo asked as he walked up behind Carly. Carly told Bo that she was giving Abigail some tips on hospital protocol. Abigail told Carly that she understood what Carly was saying, then left to get back to work. Bo apologized for interrupting and explained that he had stopped by to talk to Carly. After stepping into the doctor's lounge, Bo explained that he was worried about how Carly was doing since they had broken up. When Carly muttered that she was fine, Bo handed her some mail. Carly snatched the mail from Bo's hand and threw it on the floor. "Is something going on with you that you're not telling me?" Bo asked with concern. "I'm telling you I want you to leave me alone," Carly snapped. Bo noted that he knew Carly well enough to know that she was struggling. Changing the subject, Carly asked how Hope was doing. Bo admitted that Hope was doing better since Ciara was home and then he changed the subject back to his breakup with Carly. Bo asked Carly if there was anything that she wanted to say that she had not had a chance to say when they initially broke up. "I'll tell you what I didn't have a chance to say. I know I was just there until you decided Hope needed you more or you needed her more or whatever that was," Carly said. Angry, Carly asked Bo to go home. "Pretend that you and I never happened because God knows that's what I'm trying to do," Carly yelled. Concerned, Bo asked Carly if she had someone to talk to. Carly assured Bo that she was not alone. When Bo asked if Carly was upset that Jennifer was dating Daniel, Carly shook her head. "I'm happy for them, and I find this to be unbelievably patronizing," Carly said gruffly. Rattled, Carly walked away and then ducked into a nearby lounge and took some pills to calm down. 5/30 At the Horton house, Jennifer prepared for her date with Daniel. Hope walked in as Jennifer was inspecting some lingerie that she had purchased. Hope wondered if Jennifer was auditioning for The Real Housewives of Salem. Jennifer jokingly stated that her sweet, insensitive, sarcastic cousin had stopped by just in time to witness Jennifer's most private, embarrassing moment. Jennifer explained that she had been preparing for a date with Daniel. Hope teased Jennifer about the lingerie that Jennifer had unsuccessfully attempted to hide from Hope earlier. Jennifer said that she wanted to be ready for anything that might happen. Hope said that she had a necklace that would look great with the dress that Jennifer had purchased. Hope added that the lingerie would only need one accessory, Jennifer. Jennifer said that Hope was wasting her time. Jennifer said that she had decided that she wasn't going to wear any of the items that she had purchased. Hope jokingly agreed that Jennifer would look even better naked. Jennifer sighed and snatched the dress out of Hope's hands. Hope apologized for teasing Jennifer, and she said that Jennifer was going to look amazing in the dress. Jennifer sighed and admitted that she was worried that the dress was going to look fake on her. Hope realized that there was something else that was bothering Jennifer. Jennifer tried to explain her insecurities to Hope. "Listen, I can speak my mind, I can hold my own at my job...I can play pool, okay? But I'm a mom. I've been a wife for years. I am not 'Daniel material'...at all," Jennifer said. Hope said that if that was the case, then Daniel was an idiot. Jennifer explained that she had seen a photograph of Rebecca; Jennifer described Rebecca as a beautiful, sultry brunette. Jennifer added that she had also had an encounter with Chloe earlier. Jennifer said that Chloe had looked like Angelina Jolie during a red carpet premiere. Jennifer claimed that she was dull and frumpy, and she added that she definitely didn't look like Angelina Jolie. Hope insisted that Jennifer was wrong. Hope said that Jennifer was a beautiful, confident woman. "Stop worrying so much about how you look or what you're going to wear, and think about how you and Daniel relate to one another. How you enjoy each other, how you laugh together, those are the important things," Hope stated. Jennifer conceded that she needed to grow up; Hope smiled and stated that Jennifer just needed to lighten up. Hope excused herself so that she could run some errands. After Hope left, Jennifer looked at the dress that she had purchased; she muttered that it might be time to try something new. 6/7 When Bo joined Caroline for coffee at the Brady Pub, she informed him that Rafe had returned to town and reunited with Sami. Bo didn't seem concerned, but Caroline asserted that after the way Rafe had treated Sami, something was very wrong. Bo revealed that Sami had asked if he'd noticed any difference in Rafe at work. Bo had presumed that she had just wanted reassurances that she'd done the right thing by leaving Rafe. Caroline said that she'd wanted to believe Rafe the night before when he'd told her how sorry he was for everything he had put Sami through. "If he's a con man, he's one of the best," Caroline concluded. Bo decided to pay Sami and Rafe a visit. Bo arrived at Sami and Rafe’s loft. After a hug for his niece, he asked if Rafe were thinking about returning to work. Rafe replied that he was if he could work for Bo. Bo first wanted to know why Rafe had left town, and why he'd returned again. "You remember how I was investigating the DiMeras?" Rafe reminded Bo. Rafe continued that he'd only stopped after the accident, when he couldn't remember things, but he'd returned to town because he'd learned some information about the DiMeras that could put them away for a long time. Bo wanted to know what it was, but Rafe hedged that he needed a little more time before he could explain further. Bo wanted to know why he should trust Rafe, based on everything that had happened since the accident. Sami assured her uncle that Rafe was the man she'd fallen in love with, and he would not let either of them down again. A skeptical Bo questioned Sami, but just as he asked if she knew what evidence Rafe had on the DiMeras, Bo's phone rang. Abigail called apologized for bothering Bo, but explained that Hope had given Jennifer his number in case of emergency. She continued that she was at the DiMera mansion, and it sounded like E.J. and his wife were trying to kill each other. Although Bo didn't seem surprised or even concerned, Abigail begged him to get to the mansion before something really bad happened. Bo instructed Abigail, "Don't get involved or try to intervene. I'm on my way." Bo cautioned Rafe and Sami that their conversation wasn't over, but he had an emergency. When Nicole dared him to kill her, E.J. shouted, "Give me one reason!" as he wrapped one hand around her throat while jabbing her in the chest with a finger just as Bo burst through the doors from the foyer, followed immediately by Chad and Abigail. Bo ordered E.J. to take his hands off of Nicole. E.J. demanded to know what Bo was doing there, and Bo replied that he'd gotten a call about a domestic disturbance. Looking pointedly at Chad and Abigail, E.J. angrily stated that everything was under control. "Actually, Commissioner Brady, he's lying," Nicole declared. 6/8 Hope went over to Jennifer's house with Ciara's Young Adventurers group. While the kids prepared cookies in the kitchen, Hope asked Jennifer about her date with Daniel. Jennifer gave Hope all the gory details of the start of the date and then admitted that she was going away with Daniel that night. Hope said that Jennifer deserved some happiness and that Daniel was a good man. With a smirk, Jennifer countered that Lucas disagreed with Hope. Hope dismissed Lucas' concerns. "I want more out of my life than I've had the past few years," Jennifer lamented. After the cookies were finished, Hope helped the girls make picture frames for Father's Day. Upon looking over their work, the girls became saddened when they realized the rickety frames could not hold a photo. With a shrug, Hope admitted that she was lousy at arts and crafts and apologized to the girls. 6/14 As Hope got in bed next to Bo, she informed him that she had called Ciara at her dad's to say goodnight for both of them. Hope quickly noticed that Bo seemed distracted and worried about something. He admitted that he didn't understand why Sami had taken Rafe back after having written Rafe off. Hope didn't think that was all that odd. Bo then divulged, "Rafe said he's working on something, and won't tell me exactly what it is. All he told me is that it involves the DiMeras." Intrigued, Hope began to speculate about what it could be, but Bo called a "moratorium" on further discussion of the topic, so they could focus on each other. After making love, Bo and Hope concurred that they had a lot of lost time to make up for. Bo's phone rang, breaking the mood. When Bo hung up, he informed Hope that he had put a tail on Rafe off the books, and his contact had just followed Rafe to a location outside of town. Bo explained that he'd had a bad feeling about Rafe's request for more time with what he was working on. Hope knew that Bo wanted to go see what was going on with Rafe, and declared that she was going with him. Bo tried to refuse, but Hope asserted that he needed backup. Bo reluctantly agreed but he had to deputize his wife first. Hope excitedly jumped out of bed to get dressed. Hope and Bo reached the basement door, but found it locked. Ever resourceful, Hope quickly and quietly produced a tool and picked the lock. The Bradys drew their guns, and Bo threw open the door and found "Rafe" gagged and tied to the chair. 6/15 At the safe house storage room, Bo and Hope found faux Rafe handcuffed to a chair and gagged. When Bo pulled the gag off of faux Rafe's mouth, faux Rafe explained that there was a clone of him running around town, pretending to be Rafe. With a nod, Bo explained that he needed to make sure faux Rafe was the real Rafe. Faux Rafe explained that the imposter was violent and stupid. Faux Rafe then pointed out the scar on his stomach. "That explains everything," Bo said to Hope. Hope noted that is sounded like a DiMera scheme. Bo pretended to work on picking the lock to the handcuffs as faux Rafe became increasingly impatient. When faux Rafe lost his temper, Bo gave Hope a look. Bo received a call from Abe, so he stepped into the hallway with Hope. Abe explained to Bo on the phone that he had fired Rafe from the force and needed Bo to investigate him. Bo chimed in and noted that his investigation pointed toward the DiMeras. After making a plan, Hope kissed Bo goodbye and returned to the storage room with faux Rafe. Hope pretended to work on the lock for the handcuffs, but grinned behind faux Rafe's back as he complained. Bo went to the loft to follow up on Abe's phone call. 6/16 At Sami and Rafe's apartment, Bo knocked on the front door. Rafe opened the door to find Bo with his gun drawn. Bo announced that he had found Rafe's look-alike. Before Rafe could respond, Sami entered the apartment. Rafe told Sami that Bo had found the impostor. Bo said that fake Rafe had claimed that Rafe was the impostor. "Uncle Bo, that is not true, he is lying. The DiMeras, they made that son of a bitch; they did the whole plastic surgery thing, the whole nine yards, I swear. I mean, they were setting him out to ruin my life, to take my kids from me, but I promise you, this -- this is the real Rafe. I'm sure of it," Sami insisted. Rafe and Sami quickly explained everything to Bo; when they were finished, Sami begged Bo to believe that they were telling the truth. Bo assured Rafe and Sami that he believed their story. Bo explained that he and Hope had followed Rafe to the safe house earlier. Bo said that fake Rafe had claimed that he was the real Rafe Hernandez; Bo added that he and Hope had realized that fake Rafe was lying, because he had never mentioned Sami's name, and he had not seemed concerned about Sami's safety. Rafe admitted that the DiMeras had probably started to get suspicious about his behavior. Rafe added that he had not been able to convince fake Rafe to admit that the DiMeras had hired him to impersonate Rafe. Rafe suggested that he and Bo should return to the safe house and interrogate fake Rafe together. Bo insisted that Rafe's plan was too risky; he pointed out that the DiMeras might be following Rafe. Rafe admitted that Bo was right. Rafe and Sami warned Bo that fake Rafe had murdered Fay Walker. Sami sighed, and she wondered how she had allowed herself to be duped by fake Rafe for months. Rafe assured Sami that they were going to make E.J. pay for what he had done. "You know we're not gonna be able to do that. I mean, he gets away with everything; that whole family gets away with everything. They die, and then they're not really dead, and then they come back from the dead, and...you think we're really gonna be able to nail him for this? We're gonna be able to put him away for life? No!" Sami exclaimed with frustration. Rafe conceded that they might not be able to put the DiMeras away for life. Rafe added that they could at least ruin their lives. "Yes! Yes, that would be great! For once...to get him back. I mean, the fact that he's able to live some sort of normal existence, after everything he has done, all the innocent people he has hurt...I mean, how many times they've screwed with our family! We are not gonna let it happen; we are gonna make sure people know," Sami insisted. Bo pointed out that they still needed to convince fake Rafe to cooperate. Bo warned Rafe and Sami to stay at the apartment, and he excused himself so that he could check on Hope. At the safe house, Hope continued to fiddle with the lock on fake Rafe's handcuffs. Fake Rafe asked Hope for some water; as she poured the water into fake Rafe's mouth, her phone started to ring. As Hope started to walk away, fake Rafe tripped her. Fake Rafe knocked Hope out, then he started to smash the chair against the wall so that he could escape. After he broke the chair, fake Rafe started to leave, but Hope grabbed his ankle and caused him to fall. Before fake Rafe could recover, Bo returned to the safe house and subdued him. A short time later, Bo received a phone call from Rafe. Bo assured Rafe that Hope was all right. Rafe started to tell Bo that he had developed a plan to get fake Rafe to confess, but Bo stopped Rafe, and he reminded Rafe that it might not be safe to talk about their plans over the phone. Before Rafe could respond, the door to the safe house room opened; Bo and Hope quickly aimed their guns at the intruder. 6/17 Bo was on the phone with Rafe when the door to the basement opened. Bo and Hope drew their guns and ordered the man who entered to freeze. His hands in the air, the man explained that he was FBI Agent Tim Carter, and Rafe's friend. Rafe asked Bo to put him on speaker, and explained to Bo that Tim was there to give Bo something as a favor to Rafe. As Bo and Hope put their weapons away, Tim said that Rafe had saved his life once, and Rafe had been cashing in on it ever since. Tim then produced a small black case, and handed it to Bo. "So, that's Rafe," a very confused Tim noted, indicating the phone, then looked at the imposter and asked, "And that is?" Bo replied, "We're working on that." After Tim had gone, Bo took the phone off speaker, and asked what Rafe's plan was. Rafe explained that what Tim had delivered was truth serum; if faux Rafe didn't talk after they injected him with it, they would take him back to the scene of the crime. Bo pointed out that the scene of the crime was the DiMera mansion. Rafe continued that they would first have to get everyone out of the house, and then Sami would get them inside. Bo was skeptical, but agreed to the plan. After Bo hung up, he gave one of the syringes of truth serum to Hope, who was more than happy to inject their captive. Once enough time had passed for the drug to take effect, Bo used his cell phone to videotape his interrogation of imposter Rafe. "What's your name?" Bo demanded. Snickering, the impersonator replied that he didn't remember. Bo wanted to know if faux Rafe worked for the DiMeras and if he'd killed Fay Walker, but couldn't get a straight answer. Bo declared that it was time for Plan B. Later, Rafe hid behind some shrubbery outside the DiMera mansion, and used an earpiece to tell Bo that he had disabled the security cameras, so there would be no record that they were there. While Hope and Bo waited with the handcuffed imposter just around the corner, Sami opened the front door. Sami spotted Mary as she entered, so she gestured to Bo and Hope to stay hidden. While Sami was trying to explain why she was there to Mary, suddenly faux Rafe broke free and lunged through the front door. Fake Rafe slurred that Hope and Bo were trying to kill him, but Sami maintained that her "husband" was just drunk. A skeptical Mary insisted on calling Stefano, but Sami stopped her. Sami apologetically explained that she'd forgotten Sydney's doll, and Bo and Hope had pulled Rafe over on their way to pick it up, because Sami hadn't realized how much he'd had to drink at dinner. While Bo dragged imposter Rafe back outside, Sami asked if Mary would please keep quiet about the incident. Mary was unsure, so Sami pointed out how often Mary was late to pick up the kids from Sami, and how Mary, not Sami, had been with Sydney when the little girl had fallen. Although appalled that Sami was threatening her, Mary reluctantly agreed, and obediently went upstairs to her room. When Bo returned with faux Rafe, Hope injected the imposter with another dose of truth serum. Hope and Bo then taunted phony Rafe that he might have gotten away with killing Fay if he hadn't taken her cameo as a souvenir. Sami stood in front of the impersonator while she fastened the cameo around her neck, and then declared, "I know who you are, and I know what you've done." Faux Rafe hallucinated that Fay was standing before him instead. Fay's ghostly image ordered him to tell everyone what he'd done to her. Bo grabbed imposter Rafe and dragged him backwards up the staircase to trigger his memory. Sami noticed that the phony had squeezed his eyes shut, so she ordered him to open them and look at the woman he'd killed. When he opened his eyes and looked at Sami, he saw Fay. He lunged at her, and Sami tumbled down the stairs, landing on the floor below in almost the same position as Fay had. Hope shrieked and rushed to Sami's side, while Bo pulled faux Rafe back down the stairs. 6/20 Hope gently helped Sami sit up. Still seeing Fay, imposter Rafe growled, "What is with you? Why won't you die? I pushed you down the stairs. I smothered you in the hospital. I killed you, Fay Walker! I killed you!" Excited that her husband's doppelganger had finally confessed, Sami looked triumphantly at Hope -- but Hope's gaze was on the doorway from the living room, where a horrified Taylor had just appeared. Bo claimed that Rafe needed to get some air, and he started to drag fake Rafe out of the mansion. Taylor shouted that Rafe needed to be in prison; Hope assured Taylor that Rafe would go to jail. Sami returned Fay's necklace to Taylor, and she explained that they had been trying to reenact the events that had taken place on the night of Fay's fall. Sami begged Taylor to give Bo and Hope some more time to find out what had really happened that night. Sami promised that she would explain everything to Taylor as soon as she possibly could. At the safe house, Bo and Hope used a camcorder to record their interrogation of fake Rafe. Fake Rafe refused to cooperate, but Bo and Hope reminded him that they already had his confession. "Taking that cameo was dumb, 'cause that made it a felony murder, and that's a cakewalk for the D.A.," Hope said, as she taunted fake Rafe. Bo said that fake Rafe was going to get the death penalty. Bo and Hope started to mock fake Rafe, and they suggested that the DiMeras had chosen him to be their scapegoat from the very beginning. As Bo and Hope laughed, fake Rafe finally started to protest. "I had to kill that bitch. She found out who I was; hell, she found out everything. It was all their plan, though. The DiMeras were behind everything. That old man, he picked me 'cause I kind of look like the guy, then he made me look exactly like him. They told me about Rafe, and the kids, his wife, everything. Then there was an accident, you know Rafe was in an accident, so they kind of speeded things up a little bit, and they put me in, 'cause that would explain things, in case I got it wrong," fake Rafe explained. After fake Rafe was finished making his confession, he kicked the camcorder across the room. Fake Rafe snickered and said that he had just recanted his confession, but as he celebrated his victory, he heard his voice playing in the background. "No...you're going down, and you're taking the DiMeras with you," Bo said, as he and Hope watched the footage of fake Rafe's confession. 6/21 Bo tied up Javier, the faux Rafe, at the safe house storage room. While a drugged Javier slept in his chair, Rafe arrived at the storage room. Bo and Hope informed Rafe that they had Javier's confession on video. With a huge grin, Rafe stared at the camera. When Bo noted that Rafe should have approached him sooner, Rafe explained that Sami had been concerned about the mole in the police department. Rafe pointed out that if the mole had tipped off E.J., then E.J. would have fled the country with the children. "It would be really nice if Sami had more faith in her dad and Uncle Bo," Hope said. As Rafe checked the camera, he was dismayed to find that the end of the confession had been erased. Bo grabbed the camera and was upset to learn that Javier's kick to the camera had damaged the video of the confession. Rafe became pessimistic about proving his innocence. Frustrated, Rafe slapped Javier and ordered him to confess again, but still drugged, Javier remained groggy and unresponsive. When Javier came to, he noticed that Bo, Hope, and Rafe had a dour look on their faces. With a grin, Javier surmised that his kick to the camera had damaged his recorded confession. Javier noted that he had confessed because of the drugs, but that his head had cleared, and he would not confess again. As Rafe and Hope conferred in the corner, Bo took a phone call from Lexie. Lexie explained that someone had beaten E.J. and that he was in the hospital. Lexie asked Bo to look into the attack as a favor to her. "We may have finally caught a break. His guard is down. He's vulnerable," Bo noted about E.J. Hope urged Bo and Rafe to talk to E.J. Bo was reluctant to leave Hope alone with Javier, but Hope assured her husband that she would be fine. Hope sat in a chair and scrolled through the email on her phone while Javier pushed Hope to talk to him. "I hate to break it to you but the truth is we got what we need," Hope announced. At the hospital, Bo and Rafe marched into E.J.'s room and attempted to rouse him from sleep. As Bo slapped E.J.'s chest and Rafe ordered E.J. to wake up, Lexie entered the room and asked why Rafe was in the room. Bo explained that he needed a witness to his conversation with E.J. Uneasy, Lexie asked Bo and Rafe to talk to her in the hallway. Outside E.J.'s room, Lexie explained that E.J. had sustained a concussion and was in no shape to undergo questioning. "I can't have you waking him up to take a statement, especially not in the presence of someone who hates his guts," Lexie said. Lexie asked Bo to follow up with E.J. in the morning. As Lexie went to check on some test results, Rafe received a call from Sami informing him that Taylor had left the loft. "We're screwed," Bo lamented in frustration. Rafe informed Bo that Sami had told Taylor that Rafe "may have murdered Fay." When Bo asked why Sami had let Taylor leave, Rafe explained that Sydney had been having nightmares and Sami had needed to check on her daughter, leaving Taylor alone and free to leave the loft. "Who knows what she'll do?" Rafe said. Bo ordered Rafe to find Taylor. "If Taylor tells E.J. that Fay was murdered, he'll be ready for us," Bo noted. 6/22 When Bo called Hope to check on their prisoner, she admitted that she'd put faux Rafe in the closet to shut him up. Bo divulged that Lexie had cut his interview of E.J. short, and that he'd had to send Rafe to look for Taylor, who had gotten away from Sami. Hope was worried what Taylor might do, and offered to do whatever she could to help. When Hope arrived on the dock, she pulled her weapon and ordered Rafe to get away from Taylor. A relieved Taylor ran over and ducked behind Hope. Mouthing the words, Hope instructed Rafe to go keep an eye on his look-alike. As Rafe headed up the stairs, Taylor demanded to know why Hope was letting him go. Hope explained that there wasn't enough evidence for an arrest, and reiterated her promise that Fay's death would not go unpunished. Skeptical and furious, Taylor announced that she was leaving because E.J. needed her at the hospital. Hope was dismayed when she figured out that Taylor and E.J. were involved. She refused to let Taylor go to the hospital, and apologized for not being able to explain everything to Taylor. Hope added, "I've seen E.J. in action a lot longer than you have, and he will hurt you in ways that you can't even begin to imagine." Taylor maintained that she'd heard it all before, but she believed in forgiveness, and in the heart's ability to change. She pleaded with Hope to call the hospital so Taylor could at least hear E.J.'s voice, and Hope agreed that it might happen soon. Taylor demanded to know why she was being treated like a criminal when Rafe was still running around free. Hope replied, "You're not; you're being treated like a witness." Fed up, Taylor started to leave, but Hope reached for her to stop her. "Get away from me!" Taylor shouted, shoving Hope away and knocking Hope out cold against one of the moorings on the pier. Bo arrived at the nurses' station, and told Maxine that he had spent the night there, waiting to interview E.J. Although Maxine didn't think it would be a problem for Bo to go into E.J.'s room, Stefano's arrival interrupted their conversation. Bo told Stefano to wait his turn so Bo could try to determine who'd assaulted E.J. Chuckling, Stefano countered, "Bo Brady, the last time you solved a crime, Bill Clinton was in office." He was suspicious of Bo's motives for wanting to take E.J.'s statement. Bo entered the room just as Nicole was declaring that she wished she'd gone to the police as soon as she'd figured out what E.J. and Stefano were up to. Bo asked with a sarcastic grin if he'd interrupted another marital spat, but Nicole assured him that his timing was perfect. Bo didn't want to hear whatever Nicole had to say, and ordered her to leave him and E.J. alone. Nicole left grudgingly. While Bo began setting up his video camera, E.J. maintained that it was a waste of time, because he didn't remember anything about his attack. Bo revealed that he didn't really care about that. Before Bo could explain why, Carly interrupted to administer E.J.'s pain medication. She left again after assuring E.J. that the pills shouldn't take too long to work. Bo cued up the video of faux Rafe's confession, and declared, "[This is] proof that you set in motion a string of events that caused a woman's death." Bo moved to the head of the bed to hold the small screen right in front of E.J.'s face. E.J.'s eyes began to flutter closed, and his head lolled to the side. Bo ordered him to wake up, but then E.J.'s heart monitor started rapidly beeping. 6/23 At the pier, Hope started to regain consciousness. Taylor was relieved when she realized that Hope was going to be all right. Before Hope could stop Taylor, Taylor rushed off to the hospital. Adrienne and Justin found Hope laying unconscious on the dock. Justin and Adrienne woke Hope up and helped her move to a nearby bench. Hope called Bo to warn him that Taylor had managed to escape. Bo told Hope that Taylor had arrived at the hospital a few minutes earlier, and he agreed to meet Hope at the Cheatin' Heart. After Bo ended his phone call, Lexie returned; she confirmed that E.J. was bleeding internally, and she explained that he was going to need surgery to repair the damage. At the Cheatin' Heart, Bo told Hope about what had happened at the hospital. Bo said that he was still planning to show E.J. the taped confession, and he added that he was hoping that E.J. might incriminate himself in his weakened state. Bo admitted that he was concerned about Stefano. "His latest illegitimate son, Chad, is telling him that Rafe is more like his old self," Bo explained. Later, Bo and Hope returned to the hospital to check on E.J. again. 6/24 Bo and Hope arrived at the hospital so that Bo could talk to E.J. As Bo went into E.J.'s room, Hope spotted Jennifer and greeted her. Hope immediately noticed that Jennifer seemed a little nervous about Bo interviewing E.J. Jennifer didn't want to talk to either Hope or Bo about it, because, "What I know could blow someone [Bo] loves right out of the water." As Taylor was pleading with E.J. to tell her if he was keeping something from her, Bo walked in, and said that he'd like to hear the answer to that question, as well. Taylor countered with a demand to know why the police were covering for a murderer. "So you don't think that he knows more than what he's sharing with you?" Bo asked. Taylor stated that E.J. was the only one she trusted, and Bo chuckled that no one else trusted E.J. Taylor asked Bo to leave, and Bo consented but he added that Taylor was under arrest for assaulting Hope. E.J. promised to get a lawyer for a fuming Taylor as Bo escorted her out. When Carly saw Bo and Taylor leaving E.J.'s room, she asserted that Bo needed permission before talking to a patient, and asked what E.J. had said. Taken aback, Bo replied that it was police business, but E.J. hadn't said anything. Carly then went into E.J.'s room, and administered a sedative when she saw how upset he'd gotten. Taylor became even more irritated as she and Bo passed a perfectly healthy Hope in the waiting area. After Bo finished leading Taylor out, Hope asked what Jennifer had meant about hurting someone Bo loved. Jennifer replied that during their date the night before, Daniel had gotten a phone call from Melanie. Just then, Carly exited E.J.'s room, and ordered Jennifer not to say another word. Jennifer walked over to Hope, and Carly followed. "We know who did this to E.J. It was Brady," Jennifer admitted. Hope wondered why Brady had attacked E.J. Jennifer explained that Melanie had found out that one of E.J.'s drug runners had killed Arianna. Hope wanted to know what Melanie had to do with it, and Carly divulged that Melanie had kept Brady from killing E.J. When Hope remarked that Melanie had put herself in danger, Carly snapped at Hope. Maxine interrupted with a phone call for Carly. After Carly had gone, Hope noted that Carly seemed on edge. Jennifer maintained that Carly was just worried about her daughter. Hope understood, but she worried about what would happen between the Kiriakis and DiMera families. As Bo took Taylor into his office, Taylor lashed out at him for hauling her into the police station while allowing Rafe to go free. Bo wanted to know if E.J. had been surprised when Taylor had told him that Rafe had killed Fay. Taylor retorted sarcastically that E.J. had colluded with Rafe to kill Fay and steal her cameo. She added that Bo was acting like her mother's life had meant nothing. Bo calmly replied, "That's not true. Maybe I know who killed your mother. I'd like to know why. Don't you want to know why? You're scared that E.J. knows why." Hope called Bo just then, and informed him that Brady had beaten up E.J. She asserted that Bo needed to talk to Brady right away, and Bo agreed. After Bo hung up, he told Taylor that an officer would be in to take her statement soon. He added that he had a file drawer dedicated to women who had loved E.J. and thought they could change him, and he hoped he didn't have to add Taylor to it. Hope headed for E.J.'s room, and Carly expressed her remorse to Jennifer for letting Hope see her lose her cool. Carly then left to check on E.J. Jennifer advised Maxine that she had called the reporter, and had gotten the situation under control, as long as nothing else happened. Once she was alone at the nurses' station, Jennifer looked over a file about the missing drugs. "Wait a minute. If the thefts have stopped... No, it couldn't be," she told herself. "No, I have to know," Jennifer added, ducking behind the desk. She opened Carly's purse and took out a credit card, promising to put it back before Carly even noticed it was gone, then hurried away. As Hope and Carly watched E.J. sleeping, Carly explained apologetically that she had only kept quiet about what had happened to protect her daughter. "I know that, Carly, and I'd like to help you do that," Hope assured her. Hope stated that she prayed E.J. never remembered who'd attacked him, and Carly concurred. Hope added that she and Bo were doing everything they could to protect everyone involved, so no one had to worry about retribution. Carly was grateful. Bo arrived at Victor’s and stunned Nicole when he invited a uniformed officer to arrest her. A stunned Nicole demanded to know what she was being arrested for. "Well, I'm sure you've done something, and I've got seventy-two hours to figure out what that is and charge you," Bo replied, and then explained for a dubious Nicole that the police station was the only place he knew she'd be safe. Officer Moreno then escorted Nicole out. Bo revealed that he knew Brady had attacked E.J. Brady was surprised that Bo had arrested Nicole instead of Brady. Bo explained that he needed to get Nicole out of the way while he figured out what to do with Brady. Victor asserted that it would be better for everyone in Salem if they could find someone else to blame for E.J.'s beating. Bo declared that part of him wished Brady had succeeded in killing E.J., but the police commissioner part had to remind Brady that he could be facing attempted murder charges. Brady asked if Bo were going to arrest him. Bo replied, "Not yet. There may be a way to keep you out of jail, but in order to do that, all hell's gonna break loose." 6/27 At the Kiriakis mansion, Bo warned Brady to keep his mouth shut about the fact that he had attacked E.J. Brady insisted that he wasn't afraid of the DiMeras, but Victor reminded him that it would be foolish to underestimate Stefano. Victor assured Bo that he would not let Brady confess. Victor wondered what Bo was going to do about Nicole. Brady was certain that Nicole would keep his secret, but Victor wasn't convinced. Bo suggested that Nicole might be able to help them build their case against E.J. Before Bo could explain, he received a phone call, and he abruptly excused himself. Hope told Bo about Taylor's suspicions; they agreed that they needed to release Taylor. Bo went to talk to Nicole, and he said that he wanted to have an honest conversation with her. Nicole dryly stated that honesty was something that she had always tried to achieve. "For once, you and I want the same thing, to put E.J. behind bars. You're the key; all I need is rock solid evidence that the DiMeras are responsible for your mother's murder," Bo said. Nicole agreed that it was time for her to tell Bo everything. Nicole and Bo met with Nicole's attorney, James Rosen. James was carrying a safety deposit box, and Bo wondered what was inside the box. "Proof against E.J. and Stefano. You want the truth? There it is. The DiMeras kidnapped Rafe after his accident, and locked him in their basement so they could control his mind," Nicole announced. Nicole explained that she had obtained DNA evidence that proved that she was telling the truth, but when Bo opened the safety deposit box, Nicole discovered that the DNA evidence had been replaced with a fake copy of her will. Meanwhile, Taylor confronted Hope; Taylor demanded to know why Rafe had not been arrested for Fay's murder. Hope claimed that they didn't have enough evidence to arrest Rafe. Hope pointed out that Rafe had been drunk when he had made his confession. Hope begged Taylor to trust her, but Taylor refused to do so. Later, Bo and Hope wondered how E.J. and Stefano had managed to get their hands on the DNA evidence. Hope cryptically suggested that they were going to need to move forward with their plan. Bo agreed, and he quickly placed a call to someone. At Sami and Rafe's apartment, Bo and Hope told Sami and Rafe about the latest developments in the case against the DiMeras. Hope explained that she and Bo had devised a plan to prove that E.J. and Stefano had kidnapped Rafe. "We just go ahead and let E.J. think that you tried to kill him," Bo explained. Bo started to tell Rafe about the plan. "Look, man, I know you know this, but it's just got to be said...if you go through with this, the DiMeras will literally be gunning for you, and I'm sure you understand that they won't stop until you're dead," Bo warned Rafe. 6/28 At the loft, Sami lashed out at Bo and Hope for suggesting that they use Rafe as bait by allowing the DiMeras to think he had attacked E.J. Bo pointed out that they had no other options, and Sami understood, but she didn't want Rafe to get killed. Bo and Hope warned Sami that people were starting to notice that Rafe seemed more like his old self, and it wouldn't be long before the DiMeras caught on that he wasn't the imposter. The Bradys asserted that they had to provoke the DiMeras into going after Rafe, and all he had to do was lie low and wait. Rafe reminded an unconvinced Sami that he was trained for just that sort of thing. At last Sami reluctantly announced that she would go along with the plan. Before Dario and Brady could start throwing punches, Bo arrived to inform them and Melanie that Rafe was going to take the fall for beating up E.J. "There is no way in hell!" Dario retorted. After Bo and Dario had both gone, Melanie suggested that Brady could let what Dario had done be restitution for Brady's paying off Dario's gambling debt. To Melanie's dismay, Brady was still determined to make sure that E.J. paid for everything he'd done. Hope approached Daniel, Jennifer, and Carly. She told them that she knew about their involvement in covering for Brady, and cautioned them that another suspect was about to be revealed, and they would have to continue to keep quiet and not ask any questions for Brady's sake and Melanie's. All three of them assured Hope that she could count on their silence. Bo and Hope met in the waiting room to update one another about their progress. Hope advised her husband that she had spoken to Maggie and Victor, who had promised to cooperate with the plan. Hope and Bo concurred that it was time for phase two. 6/29 At the loft, Bo and Hope met with Sami and gave her a bug to plant at the DiMera mansion. Bo explained that his informant had told him that something was "going down today." Marco returned to the pier with a bag of money. Muttering that he needed to double check the amount before he delivered it to Stefano, Marco opened the bag as a disguised Hope sauntered on to the pier. Hope pretended to hit on Marco, but he was not buying it. As Marco politely asked Hope to walk away, Bo crept up behind him and knocked him out. When Marco fell to the ground, his bag of cash spilled out onto the pier. Bo snatched up the money and the bag, then put a letter into Marco's pocket. Bo and Hope returned to the loft to meet up with Sami. Sami informed Bo and Hope that she had placed the bug in the flower arrangement. Bo turned on the feed to the bug and the three listened intently for signs of life. As the sounds of the DiMera mansion streamed on the computer, Bo, Hope, and Sami listened as Mary entered the DiMera living room and informed Stefano that she needed to clean. Back at the loft, Bo, Hope, and Sami realized what had happened to the bug. Sami was upset that she had been the one to place the bug in a position to be shorted out, but Bo assured Sami that his plan was still in motion. "The DiMeras won't know what hit them," Bo said. 7/4 At the Brady Pub, many of the Salem residents waited for a particularly nasty storm to pass through the town. Bo, Hope, Ciara, and Maggie grabbed a nearby table. "You know, I had to beg Roman to go on that trip for me, so I could be here, and see Ciara in the Fourth of July parade; wouldn't it be just terrible if we were all there in California as a family?" Bo sarcastically wondered. Hope tried to comfort Ciara by claiming that the following year's parade would be even better. "Mother, a year is forever in this business!" Ciara said with a sigh. Ciara looked at the ballerina costume that she was wearing, and she sullenly stated that she resembled a drowned duck, instead of a swan. After the storm ended, the citizens of Salem eagerly left the pub so that they could return to their normal lives. Outside, Ciara pointed out that a rainbow had formed in the sky. "You know what? When it started to rain, and the parade was cancelled, and I couldn't see your swan dance, I was disappointed, but maybe it took an act of God to slow us all down, so we could come together, reminisce, remind each other what it's like to be neighbors and, on this day, Americans," Bo stated, as the crowd dispersed. 7/5 At the police station, Bo and Hope called Rafe. Bo explained that he had devised a plan that would put more pressure on the DiMeras. Rafe eagerly agreed to help Bo and Hope. Later, Bo told Hope that one of his undercover cops had reported that E.J. was not at the DiMera mansion; he added that Stefano was talking to Lexie at the mansion. At the safe house, Bo and Hope tuned in to the radio frequency that the DiMera security guards had been using earlier. Rafe recorded some of the voices that were being transmitted over the frequency. Rafe assured Bo and Hope that the voice altering program that he had obtained was extremely realistic, and he added that the guards would never suspect that they were being tricked. Later, Bo received a phone call from someone, and he cryptically informed Hope and Rafe that they had a huge problem that they were going to have to deal with. 7/6 Bo warned Hope and Rafe that the police were about to have to release Nicole from custody. Bo arrived, and Abe walked in right behind him. Abe revealed that Internal Affairs had just called him about how Bo was holding Nicole without filing charges. He ordered Bo to either charge Nicole or set her free. Bo agreed on the condition that he be allowed to speak with Nicole for a few minutes first. After Abe and Brady left, Bo cautioned Nicole that if she told her sister what she knew, Taylor would tell E.J. He urged Nicole to keep her mouth shut for a little while longer so they could all see the DiMeras pay for what they'd done or he'd make sure she regretted it. Outside, Brady asked Hope what was going on, but she wouldn't divulge anything. She warned Brady, "You need to keep a lid on what happened. We need everyone, especially E.J., to believe that Rafe was the one who attacked him." She explained that they were trying to take down the DiMeras, but cautioned him that Nicole was a loose cannon. Just then, Nicole and Bo exited the conference room, and Nicole asked Brady for a ride to the nearest bar. After Brady and Nicole had gone, Bo admitted to Hope that he wasn't sure if he had gotten through to Nicole. Bo and Hope entered just in time to witness Will warning Stefano to leave Gabi alone. Bo asked what was going on, and Stefano apologized if he'd hurt Gabi's feelings. Stefano then took a very brief phone call, and quickly left. Will explained to Bo and Hope that Stefano had been asking about Sami and Rafe. Hope worried privately to Bo that Stefano might be onto them, but added, "E.J. thinks the Rafe imposter was the one who attacked him. That's got to make him even angrier, more likely to slip up." Bo was still worried because they were counting on Nicole to keep quiet and he didn't think they were going to get another chance for their plan to work. Bo and Hope met back up with Sami at the loft. Sami was a little freaked out that Stefano had shown up at the pub. Sami anxiously asserted to Bo and Hope that Stefano had shown up at the pub to check her story. Bo tried to convince her that wasn't the case, but Sami insisted, "We have to pull the plug on this whole thing!" Bo urged Sami not to panic, because Stefano didn't know what was going on. Hope added that Stefano was desperate, and that was exactly how they wanted him. Sami argued that Rafe was the one risking his life, but Bo asserted that Rafe would never stop trying to make the DiMeras pay for what they'd done to all of them. Hope put her arms around Sami and tried to reassure her that everything would be all right. 7/7 At the DiMera mansion, E.J. received a phone call from Sami, who asked to speak to Johnny. Sami told Johnny that she needed him to do something for her. Sami stressed that she didn't want Johnny to tell anyone about their conversation. Sami asked Johnny about Kate, Chad, and Taylor; Johnny told Sami that each person had left the mansion earlier. Sami asked to talk to E.J. again. Johnny informed Sami that E.J. had left the mansion, and he handed the phone to Stefano. Sami offered to watch Johnny for the night, since E.J. was busy, but Stefano refused to accept Sami's offer. After Stefano abruptly ended the call, Sami told Bo and Hope that they had a big problem. "There's no way I am sending Rafe in there, guns blazing; what if my son gets caught in the crossfire?" Sami asked. Bo pointed out that the DiMera mansion was huge. Bo assured Sami that Johnny would probably be in his bedroom the entire time, but Sami wasn't convinced. Bo reminded Sami that Stefano was already looking for fake Rafe. "We can't wait a day, we can't wait an hour. Hell, we can't even wait ten minutes, or it might be too late," Bo said. Sami changed the subject, and she wondered why Bo and Hope had asked her to find out if Taylor was at the mansion. Bo and Hope told Sami about E.J. and Taylor's engagement. Hope reminded Sami that Taylor did not know the truth about E.J.'s connection to Fay's death. Back at the pier, Sami, Bo, and Hope waited for Rafe to arrive. Bo assured Sami that her nightmare was almost over. "Yes, you're right, it is gonna end. I would love for it to end with E.J. in prison, where he belongs, but even if he doesn't, he's gonna get exposed, and everyone will know what a sadistic bastard he is, and no one's gonna want to have anything to do with him ever again, let alone marry him. My kids are gonna end up knowing that they do have two parents; Johnny and Sydney are always gonna have me and Rafe there for them, no matter what," Sami vowed. After Rafe arrived, the team prepared to use the voice altering program that Rafe had acquired to confuse the guards. Sami announced that she had a good idea, a better one. "I've been thinking, they want your head on a platter, right? Why serve yourself up? Why not make him do it; make the creature do it," Sami suggested.
