Roman & Marlena #10 October 11 - December, 1984: 8 hour original edit

DVD #10A Roman and Kim meet up at Shenanigan’s. He tells her mom called him and she is very upset about how Kim has been avoiding them since she returned to town. He asks her what is going on, if there is some problem between them? She insists that it is nothing. He complains that she has been gone for five years and mom said she didn’t sound interested in going to Shawn’s birthday party.

Roman demands again to know if there is a problem with the folks. She claims it is a problem with her job. He suggests if there is a problem affecting her work that perhaps she should talk to Marlena. He says then if there isn’t a problem, then she can show up to pop’s birthday party? She says maybe, maybe not. He doesn’t understand and she storms out and Don offers to follow her.

Kim returns and tells Roman that she will attend Shawn's party. She apologises for acting like a jerk. She asks him if he can talk to the folks about not putting her on a pedestal, calling her “the best and the brightest”. She says what about Roman’s accomplishments? Bo’s? Roman laughs that no one is going to be able to convince pop that she isn’t the star of the family.

10/12 When Kim and Marlena have lunch together, Kim asks if Roman said anything to her? Marlena says that he shared that everything had been straightened out. Kim knows Roman was upset with her. Marlena says that her being gone for so long and then not wanting to spend time with the family concerned him. When she didn’t want to answer his questions, he felt she was hiding something. Kim looks concerned, but Marlena assures her she knows she will discuss when she is ready. Kim shares that she did call her mother.

When Marlena runs into Hope, she admits she has been worried about her. Tom told her that Hope couldn’t go on the trip with Larry as she hadn’t been feeling well and couldn’t fly. Eugene gets a disturbing vibe about an airplane. Eugene takes Marlena home in his cab.

10/17 (video quality good, but audio is slightly off). Cute scenes as Marlena is making a cake for Shawn and really enjoying the frosting. Mom and Kim soon arrive as Roman continues to tease Marlena. She admits that she is feeling very very pregnant. Kim makes an excuse to leave but then admits she quit her photography job. Roman is concerned and starts asking questions, and Kim turns to leave as she doesn’t want to be interrogated. Roman tells her she isn’t going anywhere until he gets to the bottom of what is going on? Marlena smooths things over and Roman changes his tune to let his sister know that he cares about her and wants to help out. Kim agrees to stay as Roman kisses Marlena goodbye and warns her not to go having the babies without him. When they are alone, Marlena observes that Kim is upset and Marlena thinks it has to do with her father. Kim admits they didn’t have the ideal relationship, she was never good enough. He put a lot of pressure on her to always be more than she was, that she was always under performing.

Later, Roman apologises to Kim for being too rough on her earlier. Their conversation is interrupted by Shawn’s arrival and everyone yelling, “surprise” as Caroline and Shawn enter. Roman toasts to his pop’s birthday, and Shawn toasts to Marlena and Roman and their family. Shawn starts interrogating Kim about her career. Everyone is shocked that she quit her job working for Anna’s company as she loved it. When Shawn gets out of line and voices are raised, Roman interrupts but Kim soon runs out. Marlena gently tries to give Shawn some guidance.

Roman rushes her to her side when she groans and grabs her back. Roman says it is time to call it a night. Alice sits next to her and realises Marlena is in labor. Marlena agrees and says she doesn’t think she will be spending tonight in this house. Roman overhears and comes over to sit beside to her to ask what is going on. She tells him that she is having labor pains. Roman announces that they have to end the party as Marlena is going into labor. Everyone starts rushing around to get her suitcase and move the car, as Roman helps her out. Slight moment of panic as Roman can’t find his car keys and everyone frantically looks for them. Alice saves the day as they rush out.

10/18 -10/19 A very nervous Roman and Marlena are on their way to the hospital when they are stopped by an officer. The cop doesn’t believe that his wife is in labor and claims that is the fourth time he heard of this tonight. Suddenly the guy recognises the name Roman Brady, remembers his wife Marlena is pregnant and finally provides them a police escort to the hospital.

Doc comes in to check on Marlena and her last contraction was ten minutes ago, but they were coming every five minutes. Doc warns Roman that this could go fast and he heads out to scrub up. Marlena worries that it is a bit early but Doc assures her that is normal with twins. Soon she is settled in her room, and Roman joins her. They are amazed at the miracle of the two little beings that were made from her and him. Later, Roman goes out and tells Tom and Marie that the doc is with her and she is hooked up to the metal monitor. Abe rushes in and Roman is relieved to see him. Roman tells him that he knows now why women give birth. Abe is determined to be there and reminds Roman that he was there for him when he was in the hospital.

Marlena is in active labor with Roman coaching her through the contractions, she is down to every three minutes! She tells Roman how very tired she is. He distracts her with a memory, and continues to soothe her. He tells her how wonderful she is, and holds her through the next contraction, wiping her forehead and giving her sips of water. Roman reminds her that they still have to come up with a name for their son. She admits that she never loved the name “Gene”. Roman agrees to call him junior for right now, but warns that it is only temporary. He tells her how much he loves her and how much she means to him. He promises to spend the rest of his life taking care of her and making her happy (sob!).

Roman comes out to get a cup of coffee and declares that it is getting rough in their as Tom reassures him. Bo has arrived and asks how she is doing. Roman raves about how incredible Marlena is. Nice brotherly bonding as they talk about Roman becoming a father. Roman appreciates him being there, Bo declares he wouldn’t miss his niece and nephew coming into the world. Back inside, it is soon time for Marlena to go into the labor and delivery room. Roman comes in just as she has another contraction and cries his name. She asks which baby he thinks will come first and he correctly predicts that his son will be so well mannered that of course he will have his sister come out first. Once Sami is born, things get tense as the cord is compressed and they have to deliver the boy as soon as possible. Roman is told to step aside as Marlena freaks out. She keeps trying to push as the doctor encourages her and finally the baby is born to everyone’s relief as they hear him cry.

Soon Sami is brought to her mother, all wrapped up in a pink blanket. In another moment, they place the baby boy in Roman’s arms. The doc assures them that both are healthy and everything is fine. An estactic Roman goes out and raves to Abe and Tom about what a champ Marlena was, even during the complications. He raves as a proud new father about how Sami looked him in the eye and knew that he was her father. He then brags about how strong his boy is, a solid real American boy. Don comes up and congratulates Roman as well. Don asks if he can be the first visitor when she is ready, he wants to reassure her that what happened with DJ isn’t going to happen again.

Roman and Marlena are holding the babies as Roman raves about bragging over the babies. He tells her how proud he is, but Marlena cautions him to be careful around Carrie once they get home. As they cherish their new babies and this moment with each other, we flash to see Stefano return to town and he is reunited with Megan. It is revealed that he is her father! He tells her about how those fools thought he was dead when his car went into the Salem River. Stefano declares that Roman Brady will feel the wrath of Stefano DiMera!

10/22-10/23 Roman and Marlena are at the hospital with the twins as she continues to worry and he continues to try to reassure her. He holds Marlena after the babies are taken back to the nursery. He tells her how he missed all of this with Carrie.

Later, Roman informs Tony that Andre may be back in Salem. Soon Bo and Eugene arrives and they tell them that they named their son, “Eric”. Eugene seems slightly disappointed, then Marlena tells him that they named their daughter “Samantha Gene” and she spells it out to make sure he gets that she is named after him. Roman is upset when a reporter arrives looking for an interview to cover the story of his babies’ birth. She tells him that he has been hot news since he killed Stefano DiMera. She pleads that he owes it to the public and she won’t leave until she gets her story. His family argues what can it hurt to do the interview if it gets the press out of their lives. Unfortunately both Andre and Stefano see the interview. Stefano puts a pawn on the chessboard to symbolise Roman as he plots his revenge.

Roman brings Marlena beautiful roses but she is not in the mood. She is worried about the interview they did this morning and thinks it was a mistake. He assures her that they need to get the reporter off their backs, and if she had only had one baby wouldn’t have been quite so newsworthy. Marlena cries as he gives her a single rose. She asks if this is postpartum depression? He says she looks afraid and asks if this is about DJ. She admits she is thinking about everyone she loved who has died and she is terrified. She asks him to hold her as she sobs in his arms. Eugene tells Roman that the interview came off as a challenge to him. Roman hopes it draws Andre out. Eugene assures him that they all have a stake in his family and will have his back. Don is upset when he sees that Marlena is keeping the babies in her room. He fusses at Roman that surely he has more sense than this!

Don talks to Marlena and points out that she needs her rest and asks her to allow the nurse to take the babies back to the nursery. She cries that she will not lose another baby. He tells her that they can’t lose her and begs her to make the call. She cries and tells him she can’t and she realises she is going to need some help with this. She cries in his arms but seems better. He reminds her that there is a whole staff of people out there just waiting to help her and the twins. He teases that the longer that door is shut, that there will be more gossip. She cries again that she just can’t. When Calliope arrives to pay her respects, Marlena shares that she thinks Eugene has a crush on her.

Andre gloats to Megan that Stefano and Maxwell are dead and she has lost her power as she is left with him. Andre questions Megan about the prisms. Megan fills Stefano in on Andre’s plan to take the prism to Haiti and tells him everyone who is going on the trip.

10/24 A somber Marlena stares at the empty bassinets as Don comes in to see her. He is relieved to seen the twins are in the nursery. Next Melissa arrives bearing a plant and tells her that the babies are the most adorable ones in the nursery.

10/25 Kim finally visits Marlena in the hospital with tons of excuses. Marlena calls her out on it and sees through the story. She says she knows her well enough to want to know what is really going on? They are interrupted by the arrival of Tom and Marie as it is time for Marlena to go home. They head to the nursery to make sure the babies are ready. Kim rushes out after learning her parents on own their way over. Special Report at the end and cuts into Roman and Marlena arriving home with the twins. Sweet Tom tells them that he came over earlier to turn on the heat. They are thrilled to be home and Roman tells his son that he is home in a very safe environment.

Stefano talks to his little pawn chess figure that so Roman thinks he is safe, but his fate is in Stefano’s hands. He will be sure that Roman gets on that plane to Haiti and it is he who controls Roman’s destiny.

10/26 Roman and Marlena put the babies to bed. After Roman comes downstairs, Tom worries about Marlena’s fear over the babies. Roman asks if there is any reason to be afraid. Tom says they are healthy babies and the cribs will do the job. He thinks after Marlena has had them home for a few days that she will relax a bit. Tom assures him this is the beginning of a new life for him. Roman is happy with his life, with Carrie living with them, Kimberly being home, and he is getting along with boy, most of the time.

Roman signs for a delivery from Trinidad with a picture of a Phoenix. He hides the envelope under the couch cushions so Marlena doesn’t see it. He holds her and looks worried. After she leaves the room, he pulls the envelope out again and stares at it concerned.

10/29 Roman calls Abe and asks him to stop by the house on his way home. He needs to talk to him and doesn’t want to do it over the phone. Abe is concerned and promises to be right over. When he arrives, Roman tells Abe that they could be in real danger and he wishes it was only Andre. He shows Abe the picture of the Phoenix and fears this threat is from Stefano. He wants Abe to put security on the house but asks him not to stay anything around Marlena.

The next morning Abe arrives and tells Roman the house is surrounded and he put out an APB on Andre, and reports that he warned Tony that he may be arrested by mistake. Kim arrives to see Marlena and the twins. Roman is distracted and tells her he has to take care of some police business. She knows something is going on and offers when he is ready to talk that he could tell her. Roman is now sure that it is from Stefano!

10/30 Roman shows Abe the package that arrived and Roman demands that he wants every member of his family guarded. Marlena comes downstairs and demands to know why the house is being guarded by the police, she sees officers out front and in the back. The ladies are heading out for lunch but Roman warns them that they are going to have some extra company as Abe has assigned bodyguards to each of them. Abe still hopes that it is just a prank. Roman is pretty sure that it is Stefano. He hopes it is only Andre but the metronome points to Stefano. Kim is indignant that Roman is having her watched and they get into a yelling match. Alice arrives to babysit and is concerned about all of the police protection outside. Kim tells her that Andre is suspected to be back in Salem. Marlena intercepts the package with the raven's feather and a note, "The Phoenix Rises Again”. Roman returns home and she looks up at him, holding the raven’s feather. (Last :2 mins is glitchy).

10/31 Marlena freaks out and tells Roman that this can’t be happening, she thinks Stefano is alive! He points out that anyone could have sent it. She says that she thinks Stefano is after him! Bo shows up with Zach trick or treating and notices that Marlena is upset. Roman tells him about the letter and he sends Zach upstairs to play with Carrie so the adults can discuss. After he leaves, Bo asks Roman if he thinks this is from Stefano? He suggests that it could be a Halloween prank, or from Andre. Bo observes this is three messages now. Marlena is shocked as she didn’t know about the other two packages.

Roman receives a person to person call from Haiti. It is Brother Andrew calling to tell him that he has news for him but he can not discuss this over the phone. He asks him to come to Haiti to give him details about the Phoenix and Roman agrees, we see he is being held at gunpoint. After he hangs up, Marlena cries and begs him not to go to Haiti. She is afraid that Stefano is in Haiti. He tells her that Brother Andrew is on their side and if he has info about Stefano being alive that he has to go.

11/1-11/2 Roman is packed and ready to head to the airport. Marlena is afraid that something will happen to him and asks him again not to go? He asks her if she really wants to wait and live in fear of when Stefano may show up? She agrees that she doesn’t want to live in fear. Roman knows that somehow he got out of that car and got out of the city and he has to find out what happened to him. She hugs him and cries and begs him to promise her that he will come home to her.

Megan tells Stefano that Roman is heading to Haiti and Stefano is thrilled to hear this! When she tells him that Roman is heading on a commercial flight, Stefano throws a fit and says Roman will be on their plane or no plane at all. Later Stefano gloats as Megan reports that their plane is in place which will make it impossible to fly commercial to Haiti.

At the airport, everyone is ready to head to Haiti but the main airport was bombed in a terrorist act and it is closed. Roman asks Alex if there is room for him on his private plane? Alex says yes. Marlena worries to Alice about Roman’s safety. Kim says her goodbyes to her brother. He asks her to look after Marlena for him. Stefano celebrates when he learns that Roman is booked on the flight.

Roman gets a call that Eric has been rushed to the hospital. Roman tells Marlena that Eric stopped breathing and started turning blue. When Bo arrives, Marlena fills him in. The hospital calls and tells Roman that Eric is breathing, they rush to the hospital with a police escort. The nurse tells Melissa that Eric is severely anemic. Doc tells Roman and Marlena that he was born with fewer red blood cells. They need to perform a blood transfusion immediately. Abe arrives and Marlena cries in his arms that Eric can’t die.

Bo tells Abe that he is going to Haiti in Roman’s place. Roman hears the plane and doesn’t like the idea and tries to talk him out of it. Bo asks if the baby is okay? Roman says they hope he will be but he isn’t out of danger yet. Roman doesn’t like the idea of Bo being involved in this dangerous mission. He tells a relieved Marlena that he isn’t going to Haiti. Kim arrives at the hospital and tells Roman that her apartment was ransacked. She admits she was the one who resisted police protection.

Andre pulls a gun on the pilot in the private plane heading to Haiti and tells him they are now going to be heading to Stefano’s island. Bo, Hope, Eugene, Calliope, Tony, Anna, Daphne, Liz, and Carlo are all on the plane as Andre removes his disguise. The pilot passes out and everyone panics as the plane heads straight for the island as Andre yells he doesn’t know how to fly this plane and it crashes into the island.

11/5 -11/6 The doc informs Roman and Marlena that Eric is going to be alright. Neil arrives and tells them about Hope getting on the plane. Larry is shocked and tries to cover by saying that Hope had a miscarriage. Later, Roman and Marlena agree that they don’t believe a word about Larry’s story. Roman tells Marlena that the plane is missing, Bo and Hope were on that plane. Roman tracks Larry down and demands to know if he has heard anything? There is no news. Marlena calls Kim and tells her Bo was on the missing plane too, as well as Hope. She has been trying to call her but the phone was off the hook.

After checking with Alex to see if he had any news, Roman arrives at Kim’s and tells her that he has been trying to call her. He confirms that Bo was on the missing plane but they haven’t heard anything else yet. He wants her to go stay with their folks but she says no way as her and papa fight every time they see each other. He tells her Eric was just released from the hospital and Marlena could use her help so he suggests she go to his place. She agrees. Roman suggests the plane could have been sabotaged thinking he was on it. While Kim goes to get ready, Roman calls and checks in with Marlena.

Roman calls the ISA with a Code Red and reports that he needs to meet with his contact. Shane is put through to Roman and comments that it has been a long time and he has been expecting his call. Roman wants to talk to him about Stefano. Shane asks if he can get Kimberly out of her apartment? Roman agrees and then questions how Shane knew he was there and he tells him he has had her place under observation and is looking at it right now. Roman is surprised when Shane turns out to be Hope and Larry’s butler, he had only talked with him on the phone before. Shane grins that he had to disguise his voice so as to not blow his cover when he ran into Roman that time. Roman peppers him with questions, and he wants confirmation that Stefano is alive. Shane does confirm and Roman wants to know why he wasn’t notified sooner. Shane says that his hatred towards Stefano is quite personal. Shane is here now as Roman has gotten himself involved.

Roman demands answers why Shane is watching his sister’s apartment and how Kim is involved in all of this? Roman realizes that Shane is the one who has been trashing his sister’s apartment. He reports that they know Stefano has an uncharted island compound somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle and Kim had taken pictures of that area. If Stefano thought she knew the location, she would be dead. So the surveillance was to protect Kim. Shane tells him that Andre planned to hijack the plane and thinks Stefano is dead, but he thinks Stefano knew about Andre’s plan. Shane questioned why Roman was going to be on that plane? Roman determines he is going to head to Haiti to see Brother Andrew and get answers, since Bo never made it.

When Roman gets home, he and Marlena sit on the couch holding their babies together. She laughs at his “baby talk”. After they lay them down, he holds her and tells her how extraordinary her babies are because she is their mother. She tells him then it is because they have the most extraordinary father, who has the softest lips. She begs him not to go but he tells her that he has to, for Bo. It is his fault that Bo was on that flight. He holds her tenderly as she sobs in heartbreak (also Wayne and Dee saying goodbye). He bends down and says his goodbyes to the babies. He takes a moment at the door and looks back as though memorizing her face and blows her a kiss on his way out.

11/8 Don shows up bearing goodies for Marlena. She tells him he is the best friend that an ex-wife ever had. She figures he heard the morning news. He admits that he did and realises she knows about the missing plane as well. Marlena starts worrying about the plane passengers, but he stops her and asks her to keep positive so she doesn’t make herself sick. She is relieved now that Eric is home and says if she can just get Roman and Bo home that the whole family will be together. Alice arrives next and warns Marlena to brace herself for a shock, she has just come from seeing Larry. She learned that Hope was never pregnant. She reports that Hope was forced to marry Larry and that is why she was on that plane as she was running to Bo. Alice determines that she will not allow Hope to go back to Larry even if he is elected emperor!

11/9 Kimberly realises what they were after and calls to tell Abe and arranges for Roman’s ISA contact to meet her at his house. She fills Marlena in and tells her that Shane is on his way and he may arrive before Kimberly gets back. Shane arrives at Marlena’s to meet up with Kim and he meets Marlena for the first time. 11/13 Kim is staying at Marlena’s and asks her if she has heard anything Roman. Marlena worries not since he called to tell her that he arrived in Haiti but couldn’t locate Brother Andrew. When Don arrives, he is annoyed to learn Roman is still down there checking around. Kim watches in interest as Marlena’s ex-husband is bossy and caring about his ex-wife and worried about her new husband.

Shane calls Marlena to let her know that he is leaving Salem as he thinks he can find the island thanks to Kim’s photographs. He asks if he could stop by to see her before he leaves. Shane tells Marlena that he tried to keep Roman out of this as he knows the trouble Stefano has caused them already. He promises that when he finds Roman, he will send him straight back to Salem. He will make contact with him as soon as he arrives in the Carribean.

Marlena has lunch with Kim and Don. Alex comes in and informs them that the Coast Guard has called off the search for the missing plane. Marlena tells them that Roman thinks Andre or Stefano have hijacked the plane. She continues that Roman and Shane will be searching for them. Don declares that he will call every contact he has and will not allow the search to be called off if Stefano is behind this!

11/14-11/15 Stefano locates the island.

11/16 Marlena shows up at the Horton’s to report that she heard from Roman and he told her that Shane is convinced he found Stefano’s island. The Brady and Horton clans gather at the hospital chapel to say prays for the safe return of their loved ones. One by one they stand and say their prayers: Tom, Howie, Marlena, Caroline, Carrie, Shawn, Kim, and Alice. They all gather back at Alice’s. Andre radios to his location to his cohort as Stefano listens in and cackles with glee that he knows exactly where they are!

11/21 Stefano has captured Shane and he is being held hostage. Stefano schemes with Petrov and goes over final plans to blow up the island and instructs him to not leave any evidence behind. Shane tries to intimidate Petrov by telling him Roman is on his way to the island and the ISA will be here to rescue him. Petrov chortles that all they will find is Shane’s dead body.

Dvd #10B 11/22 Alice greets Mickey and Marie as they arrive for Thanksgiving dinner. Marlena comes downstairs having put the twins to sleep, and they all agree that it is odd to celebrate Thanksgiving when so many people they love are missing. Marlena is unable to reach Roman in Haiti. Kimberly arrives, upset that there is no news of Bo. Alice tells everyone to have faith, as Bo and Hope are probably celebrating Thanksgiving on a tropical island.

Later, Alice sets the table and tells Marie that while they can't control much in life, they can still control where the cranberry sauce goes. Carrie comes over, wanting Grandma Horton to tell her the story of the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. Alice sends Carrie to check on Sami and Eric and tells Marie that Thanksgiving was always her favorite holiday. Marie promises that next year they will have a full house with all of the missing relatives.

Shawn and Caroline arrive with the finest salmon Shawn ever smoked, making Alice’s day. Shawn complains that his boys and Kayla aren’t there. Just then, Roman calls and everyone listens as Marlena talks to him. He tells her that there was a volcanic eruption on Stefano’s island and he hasn’t heard from Shane since he got there. Marlena reports that Shane seems to be missing. Kimberly is especially interested in the Shane update. Mickey brings out the turkey. They hold hands as Tom leads a prayer. He thanks God for the feast, although it is hard to feel thankful right now and they pray for the safe return of their loved ones. The phone rings again and Marlena learns that Roman has spotted the wreckage of a small plane from his helicopter. Marlena reports to everyone else that Roman saw survivors waving at the helicopter. Everyone erupts in cheers at this good news. Marlena looks at a picture of Roman and Bo, and says, “You are missed by so many people. Don’t you dare leave us now. Not when you are this close.”

Hope sits on the raft and sees Stefano’s yacht and runs into the waves trying to flag it down. She sees three of Stefano’s hench women and says that some of the crash victims need help. They will be taken care of, just as you will, says one of the women. Hope hears laughing from behind and turns around to see Stefano. Stefano orders Hope tied up and taken to yacht. She calls for Bo and the women drag her away. Bo climbs to the top of a cliff. He sees the yacht and tries to flag it down. He then sees Hope being kidnapped, but finds that the sail on his raft has been ruined so he cannot chase her. Meanwhile, the helicopter circles the camp. Liz, Carlo, Eugene, Calliope, and Anna wave and embrace.

11/23 Chopper flies over and sees the group. Andre and Tony struggle in quicksand and beg Stefano for help. Tony is saved while Andre drowns. Stefano takes the prism that Jasmine is wearing as a necklace. Roman lands on the island in the chopper. One of Stefano’s hench women tells him that Roman Brady just landed on the island and Stefano laughs with glee that this is just perfect! Bo rescues Hope from Stefano’s yacht and uses the radio to contact the Coast Guard. They inform him that Roman just landed on the island. Kim, Shawn, and Caroline wait with Marlena for further word from Roman. When the phone rings again, it is wonderful news, all the passengers are alive! Everyone is okay!

Stefano stands on the top of the cliff watching the beach. His goon spots Bo and Hope in a raft and he instructs her to shoot Hope as she stands in the way of his daughter’s happiness. As she points and spots Hope through the scope, Roman knocks the gun out of her hands. Stefano pulls a gun on him and tells him to stop right there. Roman asks why Stefano stole the prisms but he refuses to tell him. Roman comments that Stefano doesn’t look too well. Stefano rambles about any man would want a family like his, a wife like his. Roman jumps Stefano and they struggle. The gun goes off and Roman falls off the cliff. Bo and Hope watch from the inflatable boat as Bo cries, “Roman, NO!” And they rush back to shore. Roman is scene laying on the beach un moving. Bo makes it back to the beach and runs to his brother’s side. He holds him in his arms crying, “Roman!” He weakly warns him, “Stefano”! Bo pulls him back out of the surf, still holding him in his arms.

11/26 Marlena continues to pace as Alice tries to reassure her. Marlena states that she can’t relax until she hears from Roman again. Alice reminds her of how they thought Stefano had killed Mickey but he returned safe and sound.

As Bo holds Roman, he sends Hope to get help. He talks to Roman about childhood memories and he knows Roman always looked out for him and took care of him. Sometimes Bo got mad at him but only because he knew Roman was right. Bo cries as he begs Roman not to leave him and not to die. Roman dies in Bo's arms as his brother sobs in grief. Bo screams, “Stefano you are a dead man”. Bo leaves Roman on the beach. He finds Eugene and Calliope and tells them they have to find Stefano as he killed his brother. Hope arrives to overhear this and runs into Bo’s arms. Roman’s body is gone when Bo returns to the beach.

Hope bursts through the jungle and tells the other survivors about Roman being hurt and they need Nurse Honeycutt to help him. She also tells them Stefano is on the island and she was taken prisoner and Bo rescued her. She knows they were going to kill her. She cries that someone has to help Roman, but Calliope is off with Eugene (she has been treating the survivors with herbs and natural remedies). Hope thinks Roman was still alive when she left them but she is afraid he will die without help. Tony uses the radio and is able to contact the Coast Guard.

Megan calls and informs Marlena that Bo is alive and asks her to tell his parents. Marlena asks if she heard from Roman. She reports no that she talked to the Coast Guard and they had talked to Bo and know where the wreckage is. This gives Marlena and Alice hope that the others are safe as well. Alice declares it is a miracle that they are all alive! Marlena cries now if only Roman would call her.

Bo and Hope run back to the beach and find that Roman’s body is gone. Eugene and Calliope return to the other survivors and sadly report that Roman has died. Anna is devastated and cries into Tony’s arms. Bo and Hope return and report that Roman’s body is gone, and suggest it has washed out to sea. They further share that Stefano has left the island. Bo vows to get Stefano. Survivors are thrilled when the Coast Guard contacts them via the radio to tell them they have landed on the beach with supplies.

The Coast Guard calls Marlena and informs her that they are off the coast of the island and they have a location for the crash site and have men on their way. She asks if everyone has survived? He tells her that they have had a report of three dead (Andre, Daphne, pilot), one is injured, and one is missing (Roman). Marlena’s eyes fill with tears as he doesn’t know who has died.

11/27 The Coast Guard finally reaches the survivors who celebrate in relief. Eugene reports that the pilot died and was buried, Andre drowned in quicksand, and Daphne as well. Eugene asks that Bo be the one to contact his family about Roman’s death. Coast Guard is ready to move everyone off the island by the next morning. They will be debriefed and return to Salem tomorrow. Bo is told that the ISA wants to debrief him and he will go with them. He insists on being able to call his home first.

When Kim checks in with Marlena, she tells her that someone has died on the island but she doesn’t know who yet. Alice stays with Marlena, making tea and offer comfort. Marlena thanks her for being there and Alice declares she wouldn’t be anywhere else. Marlena says one more Thanksgiving prayer that next Thanksgiving everyone will be together in this house.

Everyone gathers to await the news and the Coast Guard finally calls and tells her the pilot, Daphne DiMera, and Andre are the ones who have died. He tells her that everyone else is alright and they found the missing passenger, Kate Honeycutt. When she asks about Roman, the CG guy doesn’t share any info just looks sad. After Marlena hangs up, everyone is relieved that everyone else is safe but are sad for Tony losing his mother. Everyone at Marlena’s are toasting the wonderful news with champagne. Bo calls and everyone is laughing asking how Hope is, and how he is. He shakily tells Marlena that it is Roman who isn’t okay. She freezes and asks him to repeat that. He has to tell her that Roman is dead. Kim dissolves begging for her brother as Marlena is stunned.

11/28 Alice calls Tom at the hospital and tells him that Hope is alive. Alice tells him that Roman is dead, Stefano killed him. She tells him that they need him there. Shawn starts to have a melt down and refuses to believe his son is dead until he sees his body. Marlena yells at them to stop it. Shawn reminds them that he was thought dead in the explosion. She tells Shawn that they can’t fall apart, that Roman wouldn’t want that. He would want them to remember the good times. Shawn declares that nothing will ever fill the empty hole in his heart.

Heartbreaking scenes as Caroline, Shawn, Marlena talk to Carrie about her father’s death as Kim is there for support. Don arrives to give Marlena his support. Flashbacks of Roman, by Abe, Stefano, etc. Marlena alone clings to a picture of Roman and has flashbacks and then breaks down. Abe arrives and she runs into his arms, crying “It isn’t fair”.

Abe says it should have been him. Marlena reminds them both that she had two years (actually he was in her life for almost three years) with a wonderful wonderful man, and no one can ever take that away from her. Abe laments that the babies will never know him. She says that they will make sure that they do from their memories of him. Abe knows he will never have a partner again like Roman. Marlena assures Abe that Roman loved him. Don arrives and Marlena is grateful that they have such wonderful friends. Lots of flashbacks.

Stefano has the prism and Roman's body, exactly where he wants him.

11/29 Stefano laments that Roman had to die, if only he hadn’t tried to kill Stefano.

Shane approaches a grief stricken Bo who is shocked to see Hope’s butler. He introduces himself as Shane Donovan, ISA, formerly Roman’s contact. He apologizes to Bo for Roman’s death and promises his death won’t be in vain. He asks Bo to help him get Stefano. He tells him he needs someone like Bo, who has something at stake in all of this. Bo questions where he was and why he didn’t show up to help Roman. Shane explains about being held captive and that he loved Roman too, they were as close as brothers! (Okay but they had never met before that brief contact and only talked on the phone LOL!) Bo wants nothing to do with Shane and blames him for Roman’s death, he is lost in his grief and feeling like he let Roman down.

11/30 Marlena watches the news report as survivors are returning to Salem, and the death of Roman Brady. Bo enters and a tearful Marlena runs into his arms, sobbing. She tells him that she is so glad to see him. He tells her he got to Roman too late and there was nothing he could do. She assures him that this wasn’t his fault. He tells Marlena how he left Roman's body all alone on the beach as all he could think about was getting Stefano. Marlena can’t believe that Roman died in his arms and he just left him there? He tells her that when he returned that Roman’s body was gone. She cries that his body was washed out to sea because he left him alone? She sobs that he was his brother and he should have brought him home! She cries that she wants to be able to say goodbye to him.

12/4 Anna comes over to talk to Carrie. She asks if she knows that her daddy is never coming home again? Anna knows that Carrie will miss him. Carrie asks if Anna will miss him too. She says yes she will that she loved him very much. Anna tells her that Marlena loves her very much but she needs to know what Carrie wants? Does she want to live here with Marlena or come home with Anna? Carrie asks if Eric and Sami can come to but Anna tells her they would stay there with Marlena. Carrie observes that Eric and Sami will need her as they don’t have their daddy. Anna doubts her ability to be a good mother anyway, but Carrie reassures her and tells her how much she loves her.

12/5 Hope and Marlena are together at Alice’s. Hope asks if there is any word from Bo, but not yet.

12/6 Roman's wake begins as the family gathers at Marlena’s. Shane arrives as Kim answers the door. She jokes that she is surprised that he didn’t peak in the window. He assures her that the telescope has been dismantled. Marlena confronts Shane blaming him for to keeping his promise to bring Roman alive and she can’t believe he had the never to show his face there! He walks away when she is very upset but later approaches her. He sincerely tells her that he was captured as he landed and he barely got off the island himself. He apologizes to her for not being able to get to Roman in time and his death is a great loss for them all. Marlena acknowledges that it is because of Shane finding them that the rest of the survivors made it. Marlena apologizes for raising her voice to him as she knows what high regard Roman held Shane in. Marlena and Shane toast to Roman, and she toasts to his friend Shane.

12/7 Roman's wake continues. Bo shows up. Kim can’t stand being in the same room with Eric and quickly leaves.

12/10 Marlena wakes up from a nightmare, she touches Roman's pillow and weeps. Marlena has flashbacks of her life with Roman. Marlena gets a fan letter from Jimmy Porterfield. Marlena leaves for the mountains with the kids.

12/19 Marlena arrives home from her trip, Gene has decorated the Christmas tree. She is relieved to see Gene is healthy and okay. He tells her how sorry he is that he couldn’t get back in time for Roman’s wake.

12/21 Don is at Marlena’s trying to put together a dollhouse for Carrie. Abe arrives just in time to assist. Marlena insists that she can't go to the survivor’s party. Marlena gets a basket from Jimmy.

12/24 Kim and Shane and Marlena arrive for Christmas Eve at the Brady's. Shane is grateful to be sitting down to a real Christmas dinner, as he usually spends holidays alone. Shawn says a prayer. Bo arrives with Diane and Jake just in time for dinner. Marlena toasts to the Bradys. Not a dry eye in the house when Marlena gives Bo the fishing pole that belonged to Roman. Bo gets chocked up but he doesn’t believe he deserves it.

12/25 Christmas at Marlena's with Bo, Don, Anna and Abe. Carrie finds the family ornament, Roman had added Eric and Samantha's names. Emotional moment as Marlena helps Carrie hanChristmas at the Horton's with the ornaments.
