Roman & Marlena #8 February 24 - May 9, 1984: 8 hour original edit

DVD #8A 2/24 Eugene is freaking out to Marlena, and she tries to tell him he just has an overactive imagination, they know this about him. But it's bigger than that he's seeing dead people?! She tells Gene he's just upset, and he needs to calm down and have his meeting. He doesn't want the club to meet, not while he's like this. Marlena assures him they will talk after the meeting. He says that the only people she'll be talking to is the Bayview Sanitarium. He worries that he never should've stopped his therapy. Marlena says that's not true, he didn't need anymore therapy then, and doesn't need it now as Roman listens from the basement.

Marlena starts greeting guests at The Lonely Hearts Club. She may have even matched up two people. The meeting ends, and Marlena tells everyone to come back next week, despite Eugene's wishes. They argue about his mental health again, and Eugene is about ready to send himself back to the mental hospital. Roman has been listening to them, and decides to show himself. Eugene starts panicking when the trap door opens, and full on faints when Roman steps out telling him that he's alive.

Marlena and Roman get Eugene up, and explain everything to him. He just can't believe all of this about the masks, and faked deaths. He finds out that besides him and Marlena, Abe and Bo know. Now Eugene must answer Roman's questions. First, why didn't he tell anybody that he was rich? He says that if people knew, he could never be sure if anyone liked him for him, or his money. Second is about the Baka, why didn't Eugene tell him about his long family history with the Dimeras? Eugene and Marlena both are surprised to hear that one.

2/27 Bo arrives at Eugene's and learns how he found out about Roman. At first, Roman objects to Bo being there, but Bo explains that he has gotten rid of Hope (not included, Bo set it up for Hope to think he is sleeping with Diane). Roman and Bo start thinking about the killer, and they keep coming back to Alex Marshall. Marlena and Eugene both disagree. Alex may be a creep, but cold blooded killer, no way. It doesn't matter, anytime Alex or Tony speaks, Eugene and Marlena need to be listening. That will be their contribution to his investigation. Roman plans to go back to the basement and work. Marlena wants to go with him, but he needs her to stay away.

He tells Marlena that there are things in this investigation that she just can't know about, and they need to get used to not seeing each other. Marlena tells him that she's helping him, and that's that. Roman pleads with her to not make him run away again. He cannot put her in danger, and needs space to find the killer. If Marlena can't give him that then he will have to run away. Okay, so when will she see him again? He tells her that Bo will be in touch. Marlena doesn't like the way this is turning out, and he doesn't either. Roman heads back down, and asks if he needs anything. He does need the baka, but Eugene tells him that it's been stolen.

Marlena and Eugene arrive at the club, and Marie tells them about Alice seeing her with Doug. Eugene brushes it off, saying that's twice now someone has mistaken him for Don. It must be that all tall men look alike. Soon enough, reporters begin hounding Marlena, asking if Roman was part of a terrorist organization that is claiming responsibility for the murders. Marlena say that her husband is not part of a terrorist organization, he doesn't even believe in them. Eugene tells her that she used Roman's name in present tense, and has got to be more careful.

2/28 Marlena can sense Roman is upset, is it about the news cycle? That, and other things. Well, at least he has Marlena. They hold each other, and he says being with her does have some drawbacks. Like the fact that he wants her now more than ever. Well, that's good! No, because if she stays over here all the time, people will get suspicious. She'll say she's helping with the Lonely Hearts Club. Really? All day, everyday, she's helping Eugene with his club? No, she's also helping Roman's Lonely Hearts Club, she jokes. But they don't need to justify Marlena being here, all Roman has to do is focus on the killer. He's been trying, but everything seems to be linked to that damn baka.

Eugene sees Trista again, and Roman and Marlena hear him screaming for her. They run upstairs, and Marlena tries to help Gene get to the bottom of his visions. She wonders if maybe he has unfinished business with Trista. Eugene blames losing the baka for all of this, maybe it's payback. Roman asks Gene if he lost the baka or was it stolen, could it be in this house? All he knows is he's turned this place upside down, and hasn't found it.

Roman is going a little stir crazy about Bo. Wondering where he is, and worrying that he cost Bo his relationship with Hope. He just feels like he's ruining more lives than he's saving. Marlena and Gene disagree, Bo made his own choice, and that is no fault of Roman's. Maybe they're right. Marlena suggests that Roman get in one of his disguises, and get some fresh air tonight, maybe that will help. He agrees, but the catch is Marlena wants to go with him. Roman is sure they can find some place private to meet, but right now, she needs to be seen out with Eugene. They need to show Salem that she is doing better.

Marlena meets with a disguised Roman on the pier. She tells him that Bo called Gene wanting to meet. Marlena jokes how they've gone from "The Lady Doctor and the Cop" to "The Lady Doctor and The Bum!". They share a moment, before Doug and Julie come by, and he has to hide. Julie wants her and Doug to take a nice long vacation. Doug spots Marlena, and they question why she's alone in an unsafe place at night. They also notice dirt on her face, which is from kissing Roman. Doug tells Julie that just looking at Marlena reminds him of how lucky they are.

Marlena and Roman return to Gene's. Marlena wants to stay downstairs with Roman tonight, and is determined not to fight about it and just get her way. Roman's not fighting her this time.

3/1 Marlena and Roman wake up, and she wants to stay in bed, she is so cold. Roman remarks this place definitely isn't the Ritz. Marlena doesn't know how he did it all those months, staying in awful places like this. Awful? This is the most beautiful place he's ever been in. She is there with him, isn't she? Roman and Marlena come up when the coast is clear. Roman asks if Abe dropped anything off? Yes, he did. Marlena asks what all those papers are? The haystack, now Roman must find the needle. Eugene gets another strong impression. This time he sees a computer, with a face on it.

Roman tells them what they are looking for in these papers. They already believe that Renee, Joan, and Hope were attacked to set up Roman, and Gwen was attacked to set up Eugene. So, they have to go through all the other victims records to find any clues about who the killer is. Roman asks Eugene if he and Bo came up with anything about the baka yet. Well, they think it's with Tony because of the family connection. Gene also tells him about the idea that there may be more than one killer. Or maybe, as Roman points out, the killer is a hired assassin for someone very powerful, and rich, and crazy. Marlena hopes Roman's not suspecting Tony, because she got real close to him while he was gone, and he's not a killer. Eugene throws out a familiar suggestion, Alex Marshall.

3/5 Eugene returns home, excited that he found Kelly Chase's sister, Molly. She's right here in Salem, but Gene wanted to consult with Bo and Roman before visiting her. Roman sensed that Molly knew more than she was letting on when he questioned her, but she was too intimidated to speak. She may have some information for Eugene, though. Gene agrees. He's getting very strong vibes about it. Bo wants to make sure that Gene is okay with tracking down Trista's murderer. He feels he has to. With the baka, and the Family Crest, he has to know if he was responsible for Trista's death in any way.

Roman orders Bo to go with Gene, and keep an eye out for anyone looking suspicious. The killer may be at Doug's Place, and could put Molly in danger if she does know something. Bo just hopes he doesn't get kicked out by Doug or Julie.

Stefano berates Tony for not knowing how to play the game. He shows him live video of Roman in Eugene's house, and calls him a fool. Stefano explains that to play the game successfully, one must know one's opponent. Tony doesn't know Roman, if he were in Roman's shoes, he'd flee the country.

Roman wouldn't do that, he'd play the game, no matter how deadly it got. "Two great game players both coming to the same conclusion", Stefano says. Of course, Stefano successfully staged his death, while Roman didn't. Tony asks how Stefano found out? The technicians who are making Eugene see Trista got suspicious about another houseguest, so he ordered them to put cameras up that focus on the guests. Lo and behold, Roman was the houseguest and he is being aided by Eugene, Bo, and Marlena.

Tony gets to thinking. He could get his Eugene mask, sneak into the house after Gene is gone, and kill Roman. Has he listened to a word Stefano has spoken? Roman Brady is to be killed on HIS TERMS! The plan must be followed exactly. Stefano shows Tony a newspaper that reads, "Roman Brady Murdered in Front of Thousands".

The article goes on that Roman was shot by Count Antony Dimera at the benefit for the Alex and Renee Marshall Psychiatric wing. So they're back at stage one, that's it? What's next? More killings? Stefano makes it clear that he wants his revenge on Roman. He wants millions to watch his death on their television screens. Celebrities. Politicians. Everyone of importance should be there to witness the death of Roman Brady.

Eugene and Bo return home, and Eugene tells Bo and Roman about Kelly being rich when she died. He saw where she got a deposit for $50,000 on 3/8/83. Someone must have paid her off. Eugene thinks about that date. For some reason it seems important to him, but he doesn't know why.

Stefano compared Roman's "death" to his to Delia. Roman overdid it, made it way too flashy in order to ensure people would believe it. When, in fact, that is what made it so suspicious. Stefano, on the other hand, went quietly. A stroke, simple and unsuspecting. He asks Delia if anyone ever questioned his death? No one did. She admits that the first few days after they used the drugs were scary. Stefano knows all too well how close he was to death.

He informs Delia that he knew beforehand that they could actually kill him, but it was a risk he had to take. He flashes back to the night of his death. Kelly Chase was the nurse at the time of his death. She makes a phone call after the doctor leaves, anxiously calling for someone to hurry up and switch the bodies. Trista came in that night, as it was her shift that Kelly had stolen. Stefano tells Delia that night he was ashes. But now he has risen from the ashes to become the One True Phoenix.

3/6 Marlena wakes up in Roman's arms, and can tell he didn't sleep a wink. This whole thing about March the 8th has really got him rattled. He goes downstairs to Eugene, who also can't stop thinking about that date. Roman doesn't know how this fits in, but Stefano Dimera died on March 8th of last year.

They pull up the hospital records from that date, and find out that Kelly Chase was Stefano's nurse when he died. So, maybe he let out a secret on his deathbed, and she was paid to be quiet. Roman orders Eugene to set up another meeting. This time he will tag along in a bag lady disguise. Bo will be there too, but Roman has to go to take note of Molly's facial expressions when Eugene brings this up.

Marlena meets Tony. He tells her about his plans for the benefit. He wants it to reach everyone: royals, celebrities, political figures, news personalities. Marlena is a little surprised. How could Tony reach all those people for some little benefit? Well, he plans to get some more entertainment, among other things. But she shouldn't worry herself about that. Tony remarks how well she seems, despite Roman's recent death. She tells Tony that she doesn't like to think of Roman as dead. Instead she pictures him being with her all the time.

3/8 Roman decides he's got to get a disguise and see Mrs. Neely today. Marlena is worried about him being in public. He assures her that he faked his death so he could do exactly this. And this whole nightmare should be over soon. In the meantime, Roman wants her to move back into her place. Marlena wants to talk about this over dinner. Oh, so she can seduce him, and change his mind? No. Just because they're busy today, and need some time to talk.

Alex calls a meeting at his house about the benefit. During the meeting, Tony wants to make sure this event gets loads of press coverage. He puts Alex on the spot about putting up the front money for it, so he has to say yes. Afterwards, Alex questions Marlena about not being able to reach her. She tells him how unbearable life without Roman has been, and that she has been staying at a friend's.

Eugene goes into a trance and he says Liz's name, and she appears at the door. She remembered where she saw the Baka, it was ten years ago in Europe. She shares that it was the prized possession of Stefano Dimera.

3/9 As Stefano and Tony are watching from their monitor, Eugene tells Bo about the info he got from Liz. It was in Europe with Stefano, apparently he kept it in his study, this proves a connection between the families. Stefano doesn't know if this information will be detrimental to them yet, but he does know that Eugene will be having a restless night. He calls up Delia, and orders her to keep haunting Eugene with his ex-wives.

Stefano toasts to the masterplan. Tony pulls out the baka, and Stefano tells him about the legend. He directs Tony to look at the Phoenix on it. The legend has it that the seventh son of the seventh son never dies. Stefano is that son. Tony asks if the legend says anything about his future? "Ha ha", Stefano laughs, Tony's future is in his hands.

3/13 Marlena and Roman talk about all the craziness that's ensued upstairs. Roman really hates how Hope has fallen into Larry's arms during this whole mess. He just doesn't understand what she sees in that creep. Marlena tells him that she's young, hurt, and there's nobody else there for her. Meaning Bo? Marlena reminds Roman that Bo is the one who set this all into motion. And once his mind is made up there's no changing it. Roman just never wanted to come between them.

Roman asks about this Diane that they mentioned. She tells him that Diane and Bo went to school together, and she's now moved in with him. And she apparently works for Foxy. Marlena says all they can do is hope things work out for Bo and Hope in the end. Now, she wants to talk to Roman about maybe letting his parents know that he's alive. He has thought alot about this, and he's really not worried about Caroline, but Shawn is very hot-headed. He could fly off the handle one day, and spill that Roman is alive.

Marlena insists that if Bo explains the danger and why he is underground, Shawn would never do such a thing. But he should know that his son is alive, and not in danger. Roman just wants to keep them out of trouble. Marlena tells him that if they had a choice, they would take that chance. She's right, as usual. Roman asks what he owes for this stellar advice. Well, her prices went up, to one ski trip. Oh no, not her back on the slopes, anything but that. She agrees to compromise with waterskiing until he finds out Marlena doesn't know how to do that either. She insists that she is a fast learner. That's what she said about snow-skiing! Well she tried, right? Okay, fine. She gets an A effort.

She wants an A for accomplishment? And how about an A for becoming a pretty ace detective? He wishes she would stop trying to help. Is it really so wrong to want to help, and be with her husband? No, but it would be nice if she waited for him to ask for it. How about if Marlena interviewed some of those people he's been looking into. Out of the question. Roman tries to avoid her by asking about how quiet it is upstairs. She calls him out on it, and he grabs her and kisses her neck, saying he would never avoid her.

Gene and Bo meet with Roman and Marlena to explain what all went on. First, Eugene updates them on the baka, and how Liz saw Stefano had it in Europe. They are looking up how the Bradford's then got a hold of it. Now, Gene declares the good news that he's not crazy! He then explains how the killers set up projectors in his room to make him think he's seeing Trista. They've also set up enough cameras and transmitters in the house to have seen Roman.

At first, Roman thinks this is very bad news, but they may be able to turn this around. He assigns Gene to be the one to look up the manufacturer of these transmitters, and see if they can make headway there. From now on, they will only say what they want the killers to hear when upstairs. They don't know if there are cameras down here or not, so someone will have to thoroughly check that out.

He assigns Bo to tell their folks that he is alive, and stress the importance of why they need to stay quiet. But right now, they need to go pay a visit to Mrs. Neely. Despite just having been on an expensive cruise ship, she is now back to work at the Riverfront diner. So, maybe she got the same financial help that Kelly Chase did. Marlena wants to tag along and help. Roman won't allow it, he has told her too many times how dangerous it is for her.

Bo, Gene, and disguised Roman go to the diner. Bo starts flirting with Mrs. Roberta Neely. He introduces himself as Bo Murphy, and scores a date with the widow. Marlena arrives, and her mere presence is enough to upset the three men. Roman gets her out of there, and chastises her for not listening to him. He reminds her of his promise to run off if she didn't give him the space he needs. He will still do that if necessary, does she understand? Marlena bows her head and sadly says yes.

Bo comes in ready to put on a show for the killers. Roman busts upstairs raging at Gene about anything and everything he can. He mentions how he's about ready to give up. Roman goes back downstairs. Gene complains to Bo about Roman, and they mention how he is unraveling. Stefano eats this up. He says to himself that it looks like his old friend is weak, and will lose this fight.

3/14 When Marlena gets home, for the first time in a while, she is shocked to see Don there. Don is surprised at how happy the widow seems. More importantly, he wants to know where she's been spending her nights. Marlena seems a bit frazzled, and says she can't remember all that well. He asks her to start with last night. She says she was stormed in at Eugene's. He questions why she didn't let anybody know. She makes excuses about the phones, and also she doesn't want to burden anybody. Don encourages her to grieve for Roman and to lean on her friends in this time. He wants to have dinner tonight.

When Marlena returns, Alice notices she has on a new dress. Marlena mentions that it is Roman's favorite color. After Alice and Tom leave, Don confronts Marlena about stuffing her feelings. He knows her heart must be breaking, and Marlena is giving no sign of that. She claim she is just trying to move on with her life, and she wants to go to dinner now. Don asks if she is so well-adjusted, why is she wearing Roman's favorite color. Don would think if she really were ok, it would be the other way around. Marlena begs him to let it go, and just have dinner.

3/20 Eugene stops by Marlena's to pick her up. Roman, in a new disguise, is in the backseat of the cab waiting for her. Marlena thinks he looks cute in his disguise, and can't keep her hands off him.

Gene and Roman (in disguise) arrive at the Café. Larry comes over to bother Abe about the autopsy report. Abe suggests he get prepared to see that autopsy was done out of good judgement. Abe informs Roman that the autopsy report will be ready later today. Abe also went through all of Mr. Neely's checkpoints dating back a few years. Wally Davis, the Dimera boat keeper, made five trips to Haiti. Conveniently, Wally died in a boating accident two months ago. So far, every dead body has lead them back to the Dimera's. Tony is looking more and more suspicious.

Roman disguises himself as the milkman to get into Marlena's house. They have a few minutes alone together, when Bo and Shawn arrive. Shawn is very high-strung, and demands to know why Bo got him to come here all the way from Arizona. Bo explains that Shawn needs to see somebody. Marlena tells him that it was a mistake and Roman didn't die in that explosion. Then, Roman comes out. Shawn is in utter disbelief. He embraces his son, crying out "you're alive".

Roman tells him that he's going to have to tell Caroline, but only her. He still needs to find the killer. Shawn knew his son didn't kill anybody. Shawn says Caroline will just faint when she hears this. Roman asks for him to break the news to her easy. Easy?! All he wants to do is shout from the rooftops that his son is alive. Bo tells him that he can't do that. Too many people know already. The three of them, plus Abe and Eugene. Bo wants them to leave to tell Caroline. Shawn says goodbye, and tells Roman that he doesn't know how to tell Roman what he feels inside. His heart is so big in this moment.

3/21 Bo arrives needing to talk to Marlena. He shuts up quick when he sees Alice. She gets a weird vibe from them both. Marlena convinces her to leave, but not before she notices one more thing about those milk bottles. Marlena switched who she gets her milk from. She pretends that McGregor's was having a deal. Alice promises to look into that. She pulls Bo aside, and asks to meet him later. After she leaves, Bo tells Roman and Marlena that the autopsy report is in. Dr. Hillary was poisoned by the same poison used in the murders. Now they have to find out if Dr. Hillary made any big deposits like Neely or Kelly. Roman needs Bo to check in with Anna, and see if she's noticed anything since she's been living with the Count.

Meanwhile, Roman needs to get back out in his disguises. He knows how Marlena just hates him going out, and there's no point to it. Yes, there is. He doesn't want Bo doing all the legwork. His brother has lost enough as it is. And Abe puts his career on the line every time he helps out. Marlena points out that they're doing this because they love him. Roman still feels guilty. Well, he needs to focus on the fact that he is lucky to be alive, and lucky to be here with his wife. Roman says Marlena always had a way with words.

When Bo comes into Shenanigan’s, Alice tells him that Marlena is not acting like a grieving widow. She asks if he remembers what happened between Mickey and that monster, Stefano? They thought for certain that Mickey was dead. They heard his and the pilot’s voice as the plane was headed down, and they got the dental records. Bo knows where she is headed with this conversation and stops her telling her it is just wishful thinking. She points out that Roman that Alice knows is a fighter and he would not give up. So her question for Bo, "Is Roman alive?” Note: we do not see Bo answer that question.

3/23 Bo arrives at Marlena's to get ready. Roman insists to Marlena that there is no danger. They'll just be going through Tony's garbage. Then why does Bo look so anxious, she asks? It's about Hope, of course.

At Marlena's, Alice comes barging in, asking where Roman is. She has proof that he's alive. Caroline was baking Roman's favorite cake. A cake she only bakes on his birthday. A birthday that is only two days away. Well, that could just be a coincidence. Or Caroline being sentimental. Alice is so tired of their excuses for everything and anything. She refuses to leave until they tell her where Roman is.

Bo and Marlena think Alice is being ridiculous. She saw the news reports and was at Roman's memorial service. Yes, she also saw all of that for Mickey too. Now, if they won't be truthful with her, Alice will just have to go to Abe Carver. Or, maybe, Larry Welch? They tell her she can't. Why not? It would be no problem if Roman really is dead. Roman comes into the living room. He tells Alice he couldn't die without thanking her for all she's done. She hugs Roman and says, "You're Alive! You're Alive!".

Marlena, Alice, and Bo arrive at Doug's Place. Alice tells Marlena that she plans to talk to Roman about letting Tom know he's alive. Bo returns from the tunnels with the Alex Marshall tapes. They go back to Marlena's, and listen to the part about the Phoenix. Just more proof of this whole conspiracy leading back to the Dimera's, namely Stefano.

Stefano rewatches the video of Roman saying that it's about time to give up. Bo tells them what all Howie got for them to dig through the trash tonight. Roman and Marlena say what a good guy Howie is. Bo's a pretty good guy too, when he let's that wall of his down. He already knows they want to talk about Hope, and Bo absolutely refuses to.

Hope rings the doorbell, and Bo answers while Marlena hides Roman. She coldly bypasses Bo to get to Marlena. Hope tells her what a good friend she was to her last summer, and she wants to return the favor. Marlena doesn't need anything, but she does want to talk about Bo. Hope informs her that there is nothing to talk about. Their relationship is over. Marlena can't believe how Hope just shut her down. Roman tells her that hopefully tonight is the beginning of the end.

Roman and Bo start going through the garbage. They find a conductor baton. Stefano was very into classical music, and liked to conduct along with his record albums. Roman finds custom made European cigarettes. The same brand that Stefano smoked. Roman also finds a bottle of Strega. Stefano's favorite brand. They also find a bunch of receipts from the Dimera's. Eugene arrives to tell them that Liz thinks she saw the baka a year ago. They all duck when a car comes by. They think it's Tony.

3/26 Gene and Roman try to figure out why Tony would become a mass murderer and frame Roman. Maybe he went psycho. If he is, Anna needs to get away from him. But unfortunately, Anna is living the life of luxury with Tony and luxury is the one thing that woman won't give up. This may be far-fetched, but what if Anna is part of this plan, Eugene wonders. Roman did leave her and get with another woman. And jealousy is a powerful motive. Maybe so, but that's just not in Anna's character. Plus for every sticky situation she's gotten Roman into, she's also gotten him out of some trouble.

Anna may be selfish, but she's not vengeful. Sirens blare, as a cop car pulls them over. Eugene makes the officer suspicious by actually wanting to get a ticket. He is made to pop open his trunk. All that garbage is certainly something the cop hasn't seen before. Gene says that his riders are absolute pigs, so he is forced to take their trash and keep it in his trunk until he finds a dumpster. Now, if he can just get his ticket. He doesn't want to keep his passenger waiting. The cop informs him that the man already left.

Eugene finally gets to Marlena's. He brings the garbage inside in a suitcase. Roman points out that the snoopy neighbors will think he's having an affair with Marlena. That would ruin her reputation. On the bright side, it would help Eugene's. Bo arrives and tells them about Tony and Anna getting married. Roman is definitely not happy about that. Bo looks glum, and Roman tells him it'll all be over soon.

3/27 Don arrives at Marlena's to check on her. Alice opens the door acting very strangely. She insists that Marlena isn't well, and Don should leave. Don notices Alice's cake. He goes to lift the lid and get a piece, and Alice almost has a heart attack. Marlena comes down to talk to Don. He is very worried about her not showing up for work. She tells him she's fine, and has been leaning on Alice. With how Alice has been acting, Don isn't sure that's a good thing. He wants Marlena to lean on him for comfort, but she refuses. She tells him to have a nice day, and sends him out.

Alice comes back, and says how hard it is to lie to their friends like this. Then they have a laugh about the cake debacle. They lift up the lid, and the cake reads, "Happy birthday Roman". Alice gets Marlena a slice. She says not to tell anyone, but Caroline makes this cake even better than she can.

Roman comes down to enjoy some of his cake right before Eugene arrives. Eugene comes in with his new invention. It's a transmitter that is meant to trace where the signals from the cameras in his house are coming from. He's thinking that Roman and Marlena have a little birthday celebration at his house for the killers to watch. While they are busy spying, Eugene will test out his invention to find them.

Alice gets a call from Tom. Turns out he's been stranded at Shenanigan's, and a nosy neighbor is the only reason he knew where to call to get Alice. Alice tells Roman to catch this killer quick or else she'll be divorced by an irate husband.

Marlena and Eugene go to his place for the birthday celebration. Roman and Gene pretend that they have found nothing on the killers yet, and Gene leaves. Marlena puts the candles on the cake, and jokes about how hot it is. They put on a show for the killers with Marlena wanting this deal to be over soon. She doesn't know how much more she can take.

4/2 Alice arrives at Marlena's very worried about Bo and Eugene. Marlena acts strangely, and doesn't seem to want Alice at the house. Alice gets a call from Tom, and Marlena encourages she go to him. No, Alice must speak to her about Bo and Gene. Well, then they should go out to speak. This late? Alice isn't even dressed. Well, she better get dressed.

Bo and Gene meet up with Alice and Marlena at Shenanigan’s. They tell them that they were looking for the receivers, but didn't find it. They'll just have to search every apartment in the building from top to bottom. Bo tells them he did find Tony's safe, so he'll need Marlena to clear out the penthouse soon for him to look inside. Marlena thinks she can get Tony and Anna out.

They return to Marlena's, and check the place again. They don't find anything, but with how often this place is left empty, they'll have to keep checking. They bring up that Tony is the only one with the resources to put surveillance wherever he needs. Marlena has gotten close to Tony, and really doesn't believe it's him. They even said that they couldn't find the surveillance in his penthouse?! True, but that doesn't mean Tony isn't behind it.

Marlena turns the conversation to Bo and Hope. She thinks he needs to leave the work to Eugene and her, and go back to Hope. Gene seconds that. No way. Bo wants nothing more than to be with Hope, but he needs to be able to tell her why he had to hurt her so badly. He can't do that until this is all over, so Bo is in this til the end. Well, then, all they can do is work harder, and faster, and get this over with. Marlena is not gonna let him lose his girl over this. They'll move mountains if they have to. Alright, well, if they're gonna move mountains, they gotta go search those apartments now.

4/5 Marlena meets Roman (in disguise) in the back of Gene's cab. They have some breakfast for her, but she is turned off of food for the moment. Anyway, she's got a busy day if she's gonna get Tony and Anna out of the apartment.

Tony arrives at the hospital and informs the rest of the committee about Al Jarreau donating money to the hospital. It's great news, but will be some hard legal work. Marlena suggests they gather at her house tonight to go over it. Ok, now Tony must call the networks. Networks? This is gonna be televised, asks Maggie? Nationally, if Tony has anything to say about it!

Stefano turns on the monitor. It now shows the Horton living room as Stefano listens in. Eugene, Alice, Roman, and Marlena gather as they get the report back on that chess piece. Stefano Dimera's fingerprints have been on it in the last 24 hours. He is alive. Now they just have to find out where he is. Stefano laughs as he tells Delia the next step is a face to face meeting with Roman Brady.

4/6 Bo and Eugene arrive at the penthouse, and work on breaking the lock. Bo gets in, and Eugene retrieves his baka. Nothing else of interest is in the safe, so they go to leave. That's when 2 attack dogs come out, and corner them. They stand still, and Bo tries yelling at them, but they don't stand down. Eugene gets his remote to Ralph The Robot, and turns him on. The dogs have been distracted, and he and Bo run outta there. Stefano listens in on Bo and Eugene's conversation in the car.

Bo and Eugene pick up Roman. They tell him about Tony's guard dogs, and retrieving the baka. It is perplexing that Tony had it, since he hated Stefano. Roman puts together the Phonix symbol on the baka to Stefano rising from the dead. Roman thinks that since this baka gave the Dimera's good luck, it should help him smoke Stefano out. Stefano listens in angrily. He knocks over his chessboard when he hears about Roman having his baka. A furious Stefano gets on the phone, and orders Roman Brady to be taken!

4/9 Stefano summons Andre and tells him Bo Brady took his baka while he was out. Andre claims that is impossible. He had left the dogs out, and the baker was in the safe. Well, Stefano claims that his stupid dogs didn't do their job! He turns on the monitor, and we see Roman and Eugene telling Marlena they got the baka. Marlena wants Roman to come home with her now. Stefano's henchman arrives. He is ordered to go to the Brady house, and take Roman once he leaves Marlena.

Karras promises that Brady will be taken, and no one will see. Andre asks about Karras. He is one of Stefano's best men. He can break a neck with his hand. Andre apologizes about the baka, but he still doesn't get the importance of that silly artifact. Silly artifact?! It is vitally important to the plan and irreplaceable! Stefano is just grateful he put surveillance in that taxi, or else his baka would be lost for good. He does admit that the Roman meeting is a bit too soon, but he must retrieve his baka.

Karras tails Roman and Marlena. They pass by a fast food joint, and Roman starts naming off all the dishes he would love to chow down on right now. Marlena starts getting sick just hearing it, and has to roll down the window, and get some air. They arrive home, and Marlena won't even consider letting Roman touch her until he turns back into her husband. Eugene arrives with the baka. Roman checks the window again, and notices a car. Marlena gets worried. They try to tell her it's someone from Eugene's club, but she knows they're lying.

She keeps asking them for the truth, and starts hyperventilating and faints. Roman and Eugene want to call a doctor, but Marlena insists it was just from being scared out of her wits over that car! Roman assures her nothing is going on, and she needs to rest. He leaves the bedroom, and tells Eugene that he knows someone is out there waiting to take him. If he's gonna get to Stefano then he has to surrender. He tells Eugene to just keep Bo out of the way, and take care of Marlena. Roman gets back in bed.

Marlena tells Roman that Alice should be over shortly. Now, she wants to know where he's going, or at least what he's doing once he gets there. He can't tell her that. All he can say is he should be back in a few days, maybe longer. Well, maybe Marlena just needs to tie him to the bed, so he can't leave. She's getting a little kinky on him now. She would do it if she had to. How many more times will she have to say goodbye to Roman, not knowing if it's the last time? He can't say, but he does promise to make it up to her when this is all over. No, don't. Just come home.

Alice arrives to take care of Marlena, and Eugene calls to make sure she's alright. Alice shows her everything she brought to make her feel better. Alice tells her that Tom has given up on her. He just thinks she's gone senile, but he will feel foolish when all this ends and he realizes that he's married to Salem's ace detective. Marlena starts weeping. She feels so foolish. Roman has only been gone a few minutes. Alice holds her, and assures her that what she's feeling is the most natural thing in the world.

Roman sits on a park bench in his latest disguise waiting to be taken by Stefano's men. He is knocked out, and Karras takes him and the baka. He calls Stefano to inform him the job has been done. Stefano has been waiting a long time to bring Roman to his destiny.

DVD #8B Howie arrives at the party with news about Roman. He tells Eugene and Bo that he spotted the car that took Roman, down by the waterfront. When he checked it out, there was blood in the backseat. All of them leave the party immediately.

4/11 Eugene spent the night at Marlena's after unsuccessfully looking for Roman. Marlena demands to know where Roman went! Eugene pretends to be clueless. Howie arrives, and Eugene motions to him not to mention Roman. Stefano arrives in the place where Roman is being held. Roman asks what he's waiting for? Stefano cannot kill him now, and deny himself the pleasure of seeing his enemy suffer.

Is that why he had all those people killed? To make Roman suffer?! He is not a murderer. Right. He just hired someone. So, how much did he pay to have his daughter murdered? Stefano attacks Roman. "I would never kill my daughter, you pig!", he yells. He loved Renee, and what happened to her was a tragic mistake made by a bloodthirsty killer! She is dead, and Stefano's own man killed her! Stefano calms himself, and tells Roman he will pay dearly for that.

"As God as my witness, I would do anything to get her back", he vows. By the time he found out about it, it was too late. Roman asks who killed Renee? Only a monster would kill her. So why was everyone murdered? Just to set him up? Kelly, Trista, Mr. Neely, Dr. Hillary. They all died, because they knew Stefano was alive. Staging his death was all a part of the masterplan. Why? Why set Roman up? Why kill all these people? Why not just kill him and get it over with?! Stefano drowns Roman out with his classical music, and orders Karras to get breakfast.

Eugene notices Marlena's looking ill, so he orders her to bed. Alice arrives and sees Marlena still isn't feeling well, so she calls Neil to set up an appointment. Neil gets Marlena's blood tests back, and has to do a double take. He informs her that she is 6 weeks pregnant. She's speechless, and Neil thinks that she must be upset by this news. Quite the opposite, actually. Marlena is thrilled that she's having a baby, and has to tell Alice right away.

Stefano tells Roman he actually admires him. He lost track for awhile when he was with Anna. Luckily, after his "death", Roman resurfaced at Eugene's. He quite enjoyed seeing his enemy running around in that house like a rat in a maze. And what happens when that rat finds his way out of the maze? Oh, he will be quite famous. Famous and dead, he bets. Why is Stefano doing this? He knows why.

Stefano spent his whole life building an empire, only to have Roman almost destroy it all. Why not just get it over with. Because, they must finish the game. He must destroy Roman's world. He already has! Very close. It would be too easy to just eliminate him. Stefano is a hunter. He enjoys the chase. Well, what if Roman is tired of the chase? He's lying. No. Roman's sick of all the deaths. All the running. Of playing his silly games. Oh no no no. Roman will keep playing the game till the bloody end.

When Alice finds out she can't help but shout, "wait till Caroline finds out she's going to be a grandmother!" Tom walks in, and asks if heard that correctly. Alice says yes. Marlena is pregnant! There's going to be a brand new baby next door! Eugene tries to shut her up, and reminds them that Marlena can't be pregnant. He goes over to Sandy, Tom, and Neil and confirms that she is 6 weeks along. Roman died two months ago. "Well, we're gonna have a baby!", says Eugene as he hugs Marlena.

The whole hospital is quite shocked. Eugene jokes that they should've been more careful. "I'll say", Tom replies. Eugene takes Marlena to a private room. What are they going to do?! How could she just blurt out she was pregnant?! Well, she was excited, and she still thinks of Roman as alive. Oh, she can't wait to see his face when he finds out.

Tom barges in wanting to talk. Now, he understands that grief takes many forms. Her situation isn't an easy one, but what's done is done. He just hopes they are prepared to do what is best for this baby. They are. Good. When's the wedding? Well, marriage is kind of permanent, Eugene says. So is having a child Tom responds. Alice thinks this is happening too quickly. They have 8 months to decide what to do. Why wait, Tom questions as Marlena's baby deserves a father. She understands that. Alice thinks they should take Marlena home to rest.

When they get home, Marlena and Eugene hatch out all the details of how they are going to make this work. They can get pretend married, and Marlena can come live with him. Eugene is the best friend Marlena's ever had. She doesn't know what she'd do without him. Well, she'll never have to find out. Maggie arrives, and Marlena tells her she's pregnant. She is shocked already, but gets even more shocked after Eugene reveals himself as the father.

Roman asks what Stefano is going to do to him. It doesn't matter much now that he has his baka. Why is that baka so important to him? Oh, the master detective hasn't figured it out yet. Well, he will not know, because the game is not over. But when it is he will finally know the power and resources that Stefano has, and that he is no match for Stefano Dimera. Karras gags Roman, and is ordered to dispose of "this garbage".

4/12 Marlena and Alice are still worried sick about Roman. They take their anger and fear out on Eugene, and demand answers. He refuses to tell them where Roman went. He does promise to go out, and get some answers. Unfortunately, he is stopped by Tom who wants to talk about the baby. Alice is so desperate to get him out of there, she suggests they go out with Mary-Ellen Donahue. Here she is acting strange again.

Tom is determined to talk to Eugene, and won't let anyone stop him. Marlena and Alice clear out to give them some space. Maggie arrive's at Marlena's piping mad over the nurses and their gossip. She tells them that she warned those nurses she would tell Marie and have them fired. Marlena is very grateful to have Maggie sticking up for her. Well, she just wants her to know that she completely understands what she's going through. After all, Marlena just lost Roman, and was looking for some comfort. With Eugene still grieving Trista, it is perfectly natural that they get together and Eugene is a really great man.

Eugene returns to Marlena's. They wonder how his chat with Tom went. Great. He and Marlena are definitely getting married. Marlena makes sure he told Tom they were getting a justice of the peace. Yes. Yes. Tom knows it will be a small wedding. Small, that's so unfestive, Maggie says. Yes, but that's really all Marlena wants. If she even wants a wedding at all, Alice points out. What?! Maggie can't believe her ears. The biggest matchmaker of all time against a wedding?! She's just trying to be modern. After all, not every couple that has a baby gets married. Tom arrives to ask the couple if they are free to get married tomorrow. Yes, they could slide that in. Great! Tom grabs Alice, because he has a special surprise in store for Marlena and Eugene.

4/13 Reduced Quality Epi. Marlena and Eugene arrive at Shenanigan's. She's still too worried about Roman to eat or do anything. She fears that he is playing a game, and he is playing that game with Stefano. Karras has Roman in his car, and drives around town to ensure he can't trace every turn back to where he was being held. Marlena finishes breakfast, and Eugene wonders if he should give her a nickname. Sweet pea... Sticky buns... If he does Marlena will have to pop him one, she jokes. And Roman really will pop him one once he finds out about this marriage business.

Stefano calls Karras, and tells him to kiss his passenger goodbye. Tom and Alice arrive at Eugene's with cake and a judge. Roman is just getting into the basement from the tunnels, and can hear everything. Tom has taken care of the marriage license, and is ready to marry them tonight. Stefano laughs as he watches the spectacle unfold on his monitor. Marlena and Eugene desperately try to stall. The best they get is Tom leaving briefly to get champagne.

Marlena asks Alice what they're going to do?! She doesn't know. She tried everything in the car, even picking a fight. Tom won't budge. Looks like the ceremony is happening tonight. Tom and the judge return, and the ceremony takes place. Their marriage is sealed with a kiss, and Alice assures Marlena they'll just cut the cake and leave. Stefano calls Delia and Andre to come over to watch something magnificent!

Roman emerges from the basement. Marlena holds him, and can't help but notice how beat up he is. She tells him to never, ever put her through something like that ever again. Roman would like to now what just happened here. Eugene vaguely explains how they were going to get pretend married, but then Dr. Horton showed up here with a marriage certificate and a judge. Bingo bango, now they're married for real. Does he get it now? No.

Why were they getting married in the first place? Well, Marlena should really tell that story. Eugene offers to leave Roman alone with "my" wife. Do they know she could be arrested for bigamy? "Ooh, never thought of that. Sorry Doc", says Eugene. Before he goes, Roman writes down a task for him.

Now that they're alone, Roman confronts Marlena about saying she would never take off his ring. She has a lot of explaining to do. First, was the judge and certificate all real? Yes. Things just got out of control. Well, she can say that again. Was Bo behind this? No. It was all Tom. Alice tried to stop him, but he thought this marriage is what Roman would want. Why would he think that?! Well. Marlena suggests they go upstairs to discuss this. He demands answers now. Ok, but she just knows he's going to laugh when he hears why she did this!

Stefano's monitor goes out. What a pity, Stefano says. Anyway, it was entertaining while it lasted.

Anna sneaks into the study, she moves the horse's head, and grabs the wheel. She puts the wheel into a lock that was hidden underneath the horse's head. The study wall opens up. Anna goes inside, believing there are jewels hidden in there. She screams when she sees a masked man in chains!

4/16 Abe just finished calling everywhere he knows to check on Roman. No luck. They worry that he could be out of town by now. Maybe even dead. Marlena goes over with Roman how he's supposed to have been dead for the past two months. So, if he were dead, how could she be pregnant. You are?! Marlena nods and says they are going to have a baby. He lifts her up, and says "we're going to have a baby!" He finally understands the marriage.

Marlena tells him how she was just so happy about the news that she blurted it out to the whole hospital, and Eugene had to volunteer himself as the father. Boy, Roman would've love to see that. Now, she is very concerned about this meeting with Stefano. He assures Marlena that he wasn't in any danger, but that man is crazy. He's working on a plan to destroy more than just Roman. But everything will work out, because Roman's going to be a father, and no way will he have his children live in a world where that maniac is still loose.

As Anna demands to know who the masked man is? Tony writes on a pad of paper that he is Tony Dimera. She may not know who he is, but he isn't Tony Dimera. He writes again to get the key to the mask. He writes down "Andre" and "key around his neck". She wants to know who is Andre? Then he writes, "Please, I loved you too Anna".

"You. Loved me?", she asks looking shocked. Anna thinks she needs to get Tony. She insists this is Delia's doing, and Tony can help this man. He writes again, "you have a mole on your left thigh". She shakily questions how does he know this, it is just not possible. It's not possible, because Tony Dimera is the man she is in love with!

Marlena calls Bo to tell him that Roman is at Eugene's, and is fine. He grabs Abe and they head off. Bo and Abe arrive at Gene's, and have many questions for Roman. He informs them that all the equipment has been destroyed, so it is safe to talk. He's not sure what Stefano's plan is, but he did admit to being behind the murders. Roman plans on using everything he remembers from being in that car to track down Stefano Dimera.

Now, with the good news. Marlena is pregnant! She also tells them about her newly-wedded husband and "father" of her baby, Eugene. They get quite a laugh out of Roman being a witness to his own wife's wedding. Roman gets Marlena up to bed, so he can talk more about the Stefano meeting. He tells them that Stefano's man, Karras, roughed him up a bit. His game plan moving forward is to get Marlena away from Salem. Next, he's gonna track down that holding place they kept him in.

The next time he meets Stefano, it won't be to play his twisted little game. Well, Abe for one thinks it's time to let the proper people know that Stefano's alive. Roman himself said that Stefano has a bigger plan than just revenge on him. That plan could involve the whole city of Salem. Plus if the right people are convinced that Stefano's alive, then Roman will be off the hook. This may be a risk worth taking. Whatever Stefano's planning, Roman got the impression that it will be going down very soon. Abe calls Larry for an emergency meeting with him and the commissioner right now.

When they arrive, he tells them that Stefano is alive and he has proof. The man died a year ago, and he was cremated. Abe hands them a report to prove his theory. Roman and Marlena lay in bed as she tells him all the wonderful reactions to her pregnancy. Roman wants to know when their kid's gonna start kicking, because he doesn't want to miss that. He won't be missing anything. That may not be true.

He tells Marlena that he wants her to leave the city until this is over. It should be over in weeks, maybe days. No. She refuses to leave him. And he doesn't want her to leave, but he can't take any chances with her, especially now. And how exactly will she be leaving town. Well, given the circumstances, she could go on a honeymoon with Eugene. No. She spent her last honeymoon without Roman, and she won't do it again. Never, ever, ever again! She will not discuss this anymore, and tells Roman good night.

4/18 Marlena meets Liz to pick out her matron of honor dress. Liz congratulates her on the pregnancy, and wedding. She does look so happy. And she is very happy. Liz gets a note that upsets her. Turns out, Neil has moved his flight to a later time. She calls him, and is assured that he will be in Salem on time. Liz tells Marlena that if he isn't, she may just have to fly to South America, and marry him there. And Marlena will be flying right beside her too. Liz tells her what a great friend she has been. She asks about her and Eugene's honeymoon. Well, they'll probably just stay in Salem. Eugene comes in needing to talk to Marlena. Liz goes to give them privacy, but can't help from staring at their newfound affection for one another as Eugene starts kissing Marlena.

Gene finally lets her breathe, and tells her that Larry and the commissioner want to know Abe's source before they believe it. They will launch their own investigation into Stefano. What did Roman say? He plans on finding Stefano with just Bo and Abe. What about the two of them? They're going on their honeymoon to Europe. He can enjoy Europe, but Marlena won't go.

She says, "I'm not going anywhere without my husband!", right as Liz is returning. Marlena, and Eugene decide to go home to discuss their honeymoon. Marlena and Eugene arrive at Shenanigan's. She hates going there, and having to lie to everyone. But it is a necessary evil. Marlena tells Eugene that, if she has a boy, she's gonna name it Eugene. Eugene Brady! He likes that.

4/19 Roman and Eugene have fun playing husband to Marlena. They look through a book on what to do, and not to do during pregnancy. Turns out, it is safe to travel early during pregnancy. Well, her breakfast is officially spoiled. Come on Doc, you have to eat. No she doesn't. Not if Roman's going to talk about this honeymoon. She wants him to look her in the eyes, and tell her that he wants her to go. Marlena closes his mouth shut, before he can actually say it though. "Don't make me go!", she begs.

Roman tells her that Stefano has a big showdown planned, and she cannot be anywhere near it, but she can help him. No, she can't. Roman won't be in any one place for too long. But he will be in danger wherever he goes! And he's sorry about that, but it's better to have one in danger than all three. They have to think about the baby now. He makes it very hard to argue when he says things like that. Roman promises that Eugene will take care of her. She's gonna miss him like crazy. He'll miss her too, but the sooner she leaves, the sooner this game will be over with. Then, they can be together. Eugene returns, very excited about his findings.

Bo arrives to hear the good news. Gene has narrowed down the area of town Roman was held at. Bo knows that area has a lot of two story warehouses, and Roman thinks he went in through the basement of one of the warehouses. They seem to have narrowed their search to three buildings.

At the hospital, Anna keeps making attempts to leave, but Tony needs her right by his side. He covers with her about the cat. Saying that his doctor said allergies could come up suddenly. But, he should be released any moment now, and can't wait to get back home. They go out in the hallway, and Tony signs some release forms.

4/20 Roman prepares for his confrontation with Stefano. Eugene is making a tranquilizer dart gun for him. Bo gripes about Roman going alone. Bo will be called if he is needed. Until then, he must ensure that Marlena is ready to go on that honeymoon after the wedding. Gene finishes his invention. It should have enough tranquilizer in it to bring down Stefano.

Marlena comes down dressed for the wedding. Roman tells her she looks like a blushing bride. Even though she's pregnant? That's what makes her blush. They get back to the warehouses, and pick the one that Roman will check out first. Marlena notices that it is right by the concert hall that they'll be holding the benefit at. Bo doesn't like it, there will probably be alot of activity going on. And that's fine, because sometimes it's easier to blend in with a crowd.

Bo will drop him off at the site, and high-tail it back here. Eugene is the one that Roman will keep in contact with through his bowtie phone. Roman pulls Marlena aside to say goodbye. She hugs him, and says she's going to miss him so much. He thought they weren't going to get heavy. She can't help it. She is so scared. Roman assures her that he's got the best backup anyone can ask for. He tells her that he'll be home within a few days. He walks out, but comes back in. He forgot to tell her that he loves her more than anything. And she loves him. She tearfully begs him to come home safely. And please don't do anything crazy. They hold each other until the very last second when Bo starts honking the horn.

In the car, Bo gets on Roman for being crazy to do this alone. He's always told Bo that you never go into situations like this without backup. Well, to go after Stefano you've gotta be a little crazy. The point is, that Stefano wants no one but Roman. So, giving himself up all alone is the only way to flush him out. He arrives at the warehouse, and won't even let Bo check out the place first. Bo tells him to be careful.

Stefano gets a call that Roman is on the trail (following the hints Stefano has left for him). He thinks it's time to pay his old enemy a visit.

Liz and Neil’s wedding, Marlena is her Maid of Honor. They are pronounced husband and wife. Neil kisses the bride, and they are officially Mr. And Mrs. Dr. Neil Curtis. Chris toasts to the happy couple. He says how Neil's gotten him through some rough times, and how Liz makes everything brighter with her smile, spirit, and voice. He has never known two people who deserve happiness more than them, so go on and have one hell of a good time.

Eugene gets a call from Roman. He gets cut off, and Gene thinks they need to go. At the warehouse, Roman can hear Stefano's laugh, but can't see him. Liz and Neil give a final toast to all the wonderful people who are the reason they are standing here today.

4/23 Liz tells everyone that this song meant a great deal to them when they were apart. She sings "Always On My Mind” to her new husband. Liz and Neil announce to their guests that they are ready to leave, and want to thank them for making the best wedding party ever.

Roman is jumped by Petrov, who takes his tranquilizer gun. He is then tied up. He realizes this isn't the same place he was held. He does know that there is something special about that place, and it has to do with this little game of Stefano's. Bravo Sergeant! The place he was held before was a place of mystery. A place of fantasy. The perfect setting for the end of the game. Stefano hands it to Roman that he has made this game far more interesting than he thought, but that is exactly why he was chosen. He is a very worthy adversary. And he will be playing a major role in the finale of this game.

Bo and Eugene find the warehouse, and get ready to go. Stefano figures they should be arriving soon to help Roman, so it is his time to leave. He tells Roman that they will be seeing each other again very soon for the end of the game. Roman promises Stefano that he will not win. He loves Sergeant Brady's spirit! He hopes Roman won't give up, because they will have their challenge, and the world will be watching. He won't give up, and Stefano won't be disappointed. Roman vows, "I'll be there Dimera!"

Bo and Eugene arrive to get Roman. He recounts to them all that Stefano said about perfect timing and the perfect place. Right now, their mission to find this place of mystery and fantasy, and make sure Stefano loses the game. Stefano tells May Lin about his meeting. He was pleased to see how desperate Roman was. Just two weeks until he gets his revenge on Roman Brady and other fair citizens of Salem.

Marlena calls Eugene asking about Roman. He gets on the phone, and she tells him that she just has to see him again before she leaves. He agrees to meet her again at the house. Eugene tells Roman he's pretty lucky to have her. And he knows it. He and Marlena are pretty lucky to have Gene as a friend too. Now, he's gonna make sure that she goes on this honeymoon, right? Even if he has to tie her up, and throw her in this car.

Marlena meets Roman in the cab. She wants to know all about the meeting. He tells her nothing happened. Just a lot of talking. Now, how's the mother-to-be? She's feeling pregnant, and weepy, and not wanting to be away from him. She promised. She knows. She just wants more time with him. Marlena wants to know if she'll be hearing from him while she's gone. Well, Roman isn't sure about that, but he promises to try. Stefano rewinds the tape to hear them talking about sending Marlena away. So, Roman thinks he's sending her away? Stefano says to himself that Marlena will be hearing from Roman soon. Very, very soon.

4/24 Marlena has serious reservations about leaving the country when she has no idea where her husband is. She gets fed up with Abe and Eugene, who clearly know more than they're letting on. They just tell her that Roman's out looking for the location of Stefano's grand finale. The most important thing is that Marlena get packed for her trip. After listening to the tape where Marlena is talking about her trip, Stefano hands May Lin a pen, and tells her to turn into Roman Brady.

Marlena meets Alice to update her on what's been going on. It seems that this pregnancy is the most normal aspect of her life. She has no idea where her husband is. Speaking of husbands, Alice points her to Eugene, who is flirting with Gwen.

Eugene joins his wife. He gives her the unfortunate news that Gwen isn't too interested in men at the moment. Not even married men. However, he can't stop looking at Gwen, and goes after her again. He tells her not to be a stranger once he returns from his honeymoon. She can come over anytime. Oh yeah, because of his open marriage. The one that opened up three minutes after the ceremony. She really thought he was a nice guy. Maybe the guys she's hanging around with are just going down the tubes.

Marlena reads the note that Abe got. It looks like Roman's handwriting, and he's telling her not to leave Salem. Her, Abe, and Eugene all find the note strange, but don't question it. Stefano listens in, and jokes that Roman Brady and Peter Pumpkin Eater have the same problem. They had a wife, and couldn't keep her.

4/26 Roman meets Nikolai. He has found that the concert hall is the setting for Stefano's grand finale. He gives Roman a disguise, so he can get in as a crew member.

At the concert hall, Andre sees a crew member (Roman), and asks for a light. He mentions that he's not usually a smoker, but does enjoy a good cigar. He also opens up about his love of the theater. How he just loves the mystery and fantasy about it, and how his mother used to be in the theater. That made him want to be an actor. "Tony Dimera. An actor?", Roman asks himself.

Soon, the concert hall clears out, giving him time to look around. Stefano comes on stage, and Roman watches him from afar. He starts to act as composer. Classical music plays as the most significant moments of Stefano's unfold onscreen again. When it's over, Roman pulls out his gun and tells Stefano to freeze. His little game is over now, and Roman has won. Stefano looks straight at him, and laughs. Blinding bright lights turn on Roman.

4/27 Roman is brought in to the same room he was held last time. Stefano informs him that this is where he will stay until the story ends. He puts on the monitor of the penthouse, and joins Roman for dinner and entertainment. Stefano mentions how similar he and his foe are. Both are courageous, clever, and survivors. It's a pity that they are on opposing sides, because they could've accomplished many great things as compatriots. Roman believes they have to play the cards they were dealt. Meaning that he's got to be the good guy, and Stefano will always have to be the bad guy. Stefano chooses to look at himself as a man fulfilling his destiny.

Stefano asks Roman where he's keeping that wife of his. He tells him that she's gone on a trip far away. The monitor shows Marlena not so far away, but at Tony's penthouse. He's informed that she got a note from him telling her to stay in Salem. Roman runs out of that room, and is chased by Stefano's men. He runs up and down stairs, swings on a rope, and finds dead-end after dead-end. He opens up another door to find Stefano waiting for him. What took him so long? He realizes this was all just another game. He lunges at Stefano, threatening to kill him. The henchmen hold him back. "Checkmate, my friend", Stefano says.

Stefano forces Roman to watch the rest of this little dinner party. He pleads with Stefano to let Marlena go. He doesn't need her! Ah, but he does and she will be taken care of by Tony. He realizes this is a sad twist, but it was inevitable. Stefano plays his classical music, and asks Roman if he wants to see something truly amazing. Perhaps he's wondered why such an upstanding citizen as Tony would turn into a cold-blooded killer. Look no further than the monitor for the answer. The monitor now shows the annex where the real Tony Dimera is being held in chains.

5/1 Stefano meets with Petrov to ensure his secret room is secure. He turns on the monitor to see Bo and Eugene have arrived. They plan to look in all the rooms, the empty the hall, and try to get into Stefano's room. They bang on the door, but it's locked.

Stefano talks to Tony on the monitor. Tony is trying to convince him to tell him what the plan is. Unfortunately, he will have to watch the plan unfold in real time. If he knows beforehand, he could tell Delia or Andre. Not even they know what the plan fully is about. Stefano will give Tony clues. The metronome will play an integral part in his plan and of course, the baka will have equal importance. What do they have to do with Marlena and Roman Brady?

These two things will fit very nicely into a puzzle that will see the end of Roman Brady, and perhaps others. He does know that the world will look at him as a madman once this is over, right? No! He will be thought of as a man that loved his family with such devotion, that he simply sought revenge. He must be talking about Renee. She's the only thing he ever loved. Wrong again.

He loved Daphne very much. Tony too. And yet, Stefano manages to destroy everything he loves. Daphne destroyed herself and Tony. As for Renee, her death will be avenged. Yes. Andre made a mistake killing her. He has no idea he's going to die as well. Once this is all over, Stefano plans to retire to his island, and do good things for the world. Tony stands up and yells, "You are a madman!”. Stefano retorts, "And You are a fool!"

5/2 Stefano has Roman sent to him. He has been bound, gagged, and put in a box. Roman was able to untie himself, and makes another run for it when he gets out. He's caught by the henchmen, and Stefano chastises them for being so careless. He thinks of how he can pass the time with Roman until the concert. He decides on chess. Since he will have to be untied to play chess, Roman would like to send a letter to Carrie.

Stefano once again says what a pity it is Roman and him are enemies. He could've invited Roman to his private island. It has state of the art technology that keeps him safe, and informed about what's going on in the world. Sounds like another prison. Oh no. Not with May there. She just finished causing trouble for Alex Marshall, and has returned to the island to prepare for Stefano.

Stefano decides to allow Roman for write a farewell letter to Carrie. A henchman unknowingly gives him the tranquilizer pen to write with. Stefano finds it strange for Roman to be smiling so big to write a farewell letter to his daughter.

5/3 Marlena is worried about Eugene's impressions. He keeps seeing a computer monitor, and sensing that someone is in danger. She just knows that's Roman, and she knows that she has to stay home tonight. Abe and Bo try to convince her that the safest place for her, and where Roman wants her, is at the concert. There she will be surrounded by people to protect her. No! Marlena will not go unless she hears from her husband! Stefano watches her meltdown, and demands Andre get her to the concert.

Roman still has the tranquilizer pen, and is being woken up by Petrov. Stefano appears on the monitor, "Good Morning, Roman". "Go to hell, Stefano", he replies. Stefano orders Petrov to take care of his next assignment. Petrov puts a bomb in a toolbox, and hands it off to another henchmen. The henchman then goes to the trap door underneath the stage, and places the bomb there. Another henchman takes out one of the guards. Stefano informs Petrov that all his men are in place. It's time to take Roman and go.

"Tony" arrives at Marlena's to go over her speech. She was really hoping that he could give her speech instead. But, this is her psychiatric wing. Marlena must go to the concert, and deliver her speech. He won't take no for an answer. Tony asks if Andre is going to kill everyone. No, just him. Roman Brady will kill Marlena. Petrov tells Roman that he is taking him to witness his wife's death. She will be murdered at the penthouse, and he won't be able to save her. Roman will just have to watch in horror from the monitor. He's just as sick as Stefano, isn't he? Actually, Petrov finds these games tiresome and long, but it pays well.

Marlena goes over her speech, and gets a call from "Tony". He's running late, and needs her to meet him at the penthouse. Next, he calls Eugene. Andre mimics Roman's voice, and tells him that he was thrown out on a dirt road, and needs help fast. Bo notices Marlena's note that says she's at Tony's. He has Eugene go to the penthouse, and Bo will find Roman.

Roman sees that Marlena has arrived at the penthouse. Petrov's car backfires, and Roman gives him the tranquilizer and makes his escape. Petrov wakes back up, and calls May Lin. He tells her that the tire blew right on cue, and the anecdote worked. Roman is running right into their trap.

5/4 Abe informs him that Bo found Roman, and is going to pick him up right now. Unfortunately, Marlena, Tony, and Eugene have been MIA. Marlena is anxious to leave so they don't miss the concert. Delia spills wine on Marlena to stall her.

May Lin expresses worry to Stefano about the bomb. If he does have to use it, is he sure they can get out in time? Of course. If Andre fails to make Roman and Marlena meet their destiny, the bomb will go off 20 minutes after the concert. They will be long gone by then. What if Andre succeeds? Then the bomb will be deactivated. It is brilliant to have that backup. He calls Delia for the final check-in. He informs her that Roman is on his way. She tells him that things are going smoothly. Marlena has been detained, and Andre still has no idea of his fate after the concert. Abe calls the penthouse looking for Marlena. Delia informs him that she is there, and is running a bit late.

Marlena returns ready to leave, but there is another problem. This time with the car, but it shouldn't take long. They should just wait. She can't believe this?! They have been trying to leave for an hour. If she didn't know better, she'd think Tony didn't want to go.

Roman finds a cab. He sedates the driver, and goes to the penthouse. Roman arrives, and knocks down the door. May plays Petrov saying, "she will die at the penthouse", and Marlena screaming "Roman". Roman looks around, and finds a sign that says, "The game is not over".

Stefano informs Tony and Anna that Roman is now in the penthouse. Anna screams for her ex-husband. Stefano tells her to be patient. It is not time for her performance yet. Stefano finally grants Anna her wish to be heard. Tony and Anna scream for Roman, and he finds them in the annex. Roman looks for keys to unlock them. Stefano appears on the monitor. He tells Roman to watch the screen, and he will see his wife. He sees Marlena and Andre arriving at the concert. Stefano informs Roman that Andre, his nephew, is the killer. And tonight, in the final play of the game, he will kill Marlena on stage.

5/7 Eugene has an impression of Marlena in danger. Stefano taunts Roman by telling him how his wife will meet her fate in front of thousands of people. "You're Crazy!", Roman exclaims. Crazy, huh. He never should've tried to destroy Stefano. Now, in only less than an hour, Marlena will die. Tony and Anna beg him to go to the concert hall. He's the only one who can save Marlena. He leaves, but promises to get them help. Unfortunately, he finds all the phones unhooked. He goes to find the nearest payphone.

Tom takes the mic at the benefit to give Marlena a special shout-out. Tony comes up with an idea to use the computer to get help. A message comes on the station's computer. Eugene reads it. It says that Stefano will kill Marlena at the concert, and to come to the penthouse and save them. Eugene calls the concert hall, and leaves a message for Abe that Stefano will kill Marlena tonight. Also, he is going to Tony Dimera's house, and expects trouble. Unfortunately, the man on the phone is on Stefano's payroll.

Stefano returns to his room, exhilarated. Not a single soul knew he wasn't Maestro Anatolla. He should've been a conductor! He thanks May for being so perfect during all of this. Well, it's what a woman does for her man. Stefano's man comes in to inform him that Eugene Bradford called, and is on his way to the penthouse. He calls Petrov to make sure Eugene has company when he gets there. Roman calls the Salem PD, and warns them about Stefano. They hang up, thinking it's Eugene. Eugene arrives at the penthouse, and finds Tony and Anna.

5/8 Bo meets Howie in the parking garage. He never found Roman, and knows something fishy is going on. They split up again to search the concert hall. The cabbie that Roman drugged has woken up, and calls the police to report that the killer cop is alive.

Bo, Howie, and Abe meet. None of them have seen Roman. Bo thinks Stefano has him. Stefano's henchmen inform him that those three cased the place, and are now standing around like a bunch of school kids. Stefano laughs, and tells Andre that it seems their enemies are in disarray.

A drunk Alex runs into Marlena. He has no clue where Tony went. Well, he doesn't need Tony. Marlena will be giving her speech soon, and then Alex will go up to present his check. Perhaps, he needs some coffee. No, instead he gets his flask refilled.

Andre is growing more and more nervous. He just wants to get this over with. "No!", Stefano exclaims. Roman must be lured to the concert hall before Marlena is killed. What if he doesn't get there? He will. Roman hides behind a dumpster in an alleyway. He spots this couple fighting, and hops in the backseat of their car when they're not looking. The couple gets back in the car, and drives home. The man leaves the car running as he chases the girl, and Roman hops in the driver's seat, and runs off.

Roman is on his way to the concert as he hears on the radio that there is a manhunt for him. Police sirens blare all around him. Stefano is informed that it's time for the finale. So, it is time for Andre to get in his disguise. Liz introduces Marlena. Marlena gives her thanks to everyone who made tonight happen. Alex stumbles up onto the stage, and tries to seem sober. He rambles on incoherently about his generous wife who would've given two wings instead of one. Alex hands Marlena the check, and Andre as Roman hides backstage waiting for his cue to kill her. Meanwhile, the real Roman pulls into the parking garage.

5/9 Roman fights off Stefano's men in the garage. He takes quite a beating, but overpowers one and throws him over the railing. Four more men come after him, and that's when Bo rides up on his motorcycle. He acts as a distraction while Roman goes to save Marlena. When Alex is handing over the check, "Roman" storms the stage with a knife after Marlena. Abe runs up to stop him, and Alex is able to trip him. Shots are fired backstage as "Roman" escapes. Chaos ensues in the audience, and Chris gets onstage to get things under control. Everyone exits the theater.

Andre, still disguised, is in the prop room getting reamed over by Stefano for letting a complete fool like Alex Marshall trip him up. "You are a complete incompetent, Andre!", he yells. There is only one price to pay for incompetence, and that is to get blown to hell with everyone else! Stefano let's him know that this failure is not why he's dying. He was never going to let Andre go for murdering his sweet daughter Renee. He points to the metronome as the trigger for the bomb, and states that it's his final revenge.

Bo, Marlena, and Neil are outside the door trying to unlock it. Once they do, Andre makes a run for it, and Bo chases after him. Marlena tries to convince Neil that the man that just ran out isn't Roman. Stefano is alive, and he's been committing these murders. She begs him to please get Abe, and help Roman. Neil leaves her in the prop room, and Stefano reveals himself. Marlena looks at him in his conductor disguise, and calls him insane. Stefano wonders why just because he's more clever than everyone, that means he's insane. Does his lovely psychiatrist have an answer for him? Marlena's not his lovely anything, and demands to know where her husband is?! Stefano orders her to sit down. She will not be leaving this room. In fact, many people may not be leaving tonight.

Roman jumps Andre, and starts fighting him. Abe sees them. He pulls his gun, and tries to figure out who the real Roman is. The real Roman unmasks Andre. He runs away, hiding behind a curtain. Neil knocks on the prop room door. Stefano orders Marlena to get rid of him. She tries, but he bursts through the door, and is shocked to see Stefano. He realizes that everything Marlena told him was true. Roman really was being impersonated, and framed for these murders. Why didn't he tell anyone?!

Stefano informs him that would do no good. Doesn't Neil see that he is toying with them all? At this very moment, his life is in Stefano's hands. Neil's not so sure about that. He tried to kill him once, but he's still here. No one as evil as Stefano can win, with or without all the money in the world. And that is because he's a maniac! And Neil is a Pollyanna. Perhaps, he has consumed too much alcohol and isn't thinking clearly. He wants to talk about evil. He just married a slut, Stefano's ex-daughter-in-law. Neil lunges at Stefano, and is pistol-whipped by a henchman. He is knocked unconscious, and tied up. Liz starts knocking on the door looking for Neil. Marlena tells her that he went to the party, and gets her to leave.

Eugene, Tony, and Anna arrive. Marlena has been tied up, and Stefano puts the metronome in front of her. Marlena wonders if when he was a little boy, did he pull the wings off flies? Ha! What a funny little temper she has. Stefano explains the importance of the metronome. It's a timing device connected to a bomb that will explode in about 20 minutes. Marlena begs him to please stop it. He goes on to say that this metronome cannot be stopped without the baka. The baka is the only thing that can turn the metronome off. This baka is the key to his final revenge.

Why is he doing this? How could Marlena, of all people, ask that question? Her husband was the stumbling block when he tried to build his empire. Roman was more than that. He outwitted Stefano. "Outwitted me? Ha!", he laughs. Temporarily, maybe. But Roman will never stop him again. Stefano now plans to operate his empire from his island paradise. Why this thirst for power? If she has never tasted the nectar of power, then she will never know. There is nothing like it. Besides, it is his destiny. Many men have felt they were destined to rule. Some even did. But every one of them lost, just as Stefano will.

Those men she speaks of were all mad. And what about Stefano? If he were mad, he'd never be able to say it. He can say that he is a madman, and because of that, it means he is actually a sane man. How very clever of him. They must assume that he is sane. Well, a sane man would not kill hundreds of innocent people to avenge one. Clear the concert hall. Go after who you really want, Marlena pleads. That is not possible. Stefano is on his way to a safe place out of Salem. He expects to have a pleasant journey, and hopes Marlena also has a pleasant journey. Perhaps, her brave husband, Sergeant Brady, will come running in on his white horse to save her at the 11th hour. Only, if the police don't shoot him first. Stefano is put in a box, and safely transported to his next destination.

Anna and Tony go to look for Andre, while Eugene warns everyone about the bomb. Bo, Abe, and Roman are outside Marlena's door trying to get in. Cops spot Roman, and go to shoot him. Abe stands in front and protects him, "Nobody shoots Roman", he tells them.
