Roman & Marlena #9 May 10 - October 10, 1984: 8 hour original edit

DVD #9A Roman kicks the door in, and works on untying Marlena. She tells them all about the bomb. It is underneath the stage, but the only way to stop it is with the baka. The bomb squad won't help. She tells Abe that Stefano is dressed as the conductor, so he goes to check with security. Marlena works on getting Neil up and out of there. She tells Roman she's okay, and that he must find Stefano. Stefano is hidden in a dressing room waiting for Delia. She will arrive, and act as a diversion to the police. Petrov tells him that Bradford got the best of him, and escaped with the others. He vows to personally take care of Eugene. He finds Eugene looking for the bomb, and holds him at gunpoint. Gene shouts Roman's name, and escapes again.

Abe tells Roman that the guard hasn't seen the conductor leave yet, so Stefano must be in the building. Roman goes to check the third floor, while Abe clears the building. Alex won't leave until he knows what is going on. When he finds out, Alex yells that there's a bomb. Liz finds Neil in the prop room. She asks who hit him. He groggily tells her Stefano Dimera. Marlena doesn't have time to explain, they need to get Neil and go. The Stefano decoy has successfully distracted the police, and Delia calls to let him know it is safe to leave. Petrov returns, and tells Stefano that Bradford got away. Doesn't matter much. He will succumb with the rest of them shortly. They head to their car, where Alex has already laid down in the backseat.

Bo sees Stefano, and chases him down. Petrov shoots Bo, and drives off. Roman, Abe, and Eugene chase down the car screaming as Petrov shoots at them. Stefano has gotten away, and now they have to figure out what to do without the baka. Eugene says that he made a duplicate a long time ago. Roman orders him to go to the prop room, and place the baka in the base of the metronome. Roman turns around, and sees Bo bleeding out. They call for an ambulance. A news helicopter lands in front of them. Bo was only shot in the shoulder. He tells Roman and Abe they need to take that helicopter, and find Stefano. Alex wakes up, and sees who he thinks is the maestro. Stefano looks at him, calling him a fool, and asking what he is doing in this car. Alex finally realizes that he is looking at Stefano Dimera.

Eugene arrives in the prop room and, with seconds to go, he deactivates the bomb. Roman and Abe spot Stefano's car from the helicopter. Alex says he knew Stefano was alive. He knew that Stefano was responsible for his money going missing. That's right. Stefano took every penny of HIS money that Alex stole from Renee. He loved her, and Alex took her life away from her. Hey now! Roman Brady was the one killed her. Does he have any idea how Alex suffered when she died? "Shut up, you scum!", Stefano screams. He took advantage of Renee. He slept with her, and when she found out about his scheme she turned to Tony, that’s when Andre killed her. So yes it is Alex's fault she's dead and he will pay, pay, pay.

"Well, I'm Sorry!", Alex exclaims. What is Stefano doing here anyway? He is supposed to be dead. Yes, well that was all arranged. He knew it! Anna tried to warn him about the Phoenix rising from the ashes, that was Stefano. Anna was definitely more clever than anticipated, but it didn't matter because he always has a backup plan. The bomb, right? Alex is thinking they can work together. He can save Stefano, and pull this off for him. Alex can't even save himself, he certainly can't save Stefano. Petrov spots Roman in the helicopter. Alex asks if Stefano really thinks he's gonna pull this off? He knows he will. Too bad Alex will be too dead to see it. The paramedics get Bo into the ambulance, and the news people report his shooting and Tony and Andre's stabbing. Reporters start to question Marlena, Liz, and Neil.

Tony is on his gurney, and wants to speak to Marlena. He wants her to know that he never hurt anyone. Anna backs him up, saying that Andre was the killer. Andre? Marlena asks who that is. Tony explains that they're cousins as Andre is getting pulled into the hall. He calls for Anna, but she leaves with Tony. Roman and Abe move in closer as Petrov speeds up. Alex spills champagne in Petrov's eyes. He can't see, and drives the car into the river.

5/11 Marlena and Eugene hide out at Don's. They tell him that Stefano planted a bomb at the concert. They tell him that he staged his death a year ago. Roman did the same thing, and has been living in Eugene's basement. Don turns on the TV where they confirm that both men are alive. They also report that Bo has been shot. Marlena has to get to the hospital right away. Unfortunately, reporters have been banging down the door ever since Marlena got there.

Roman and Abe watch as Stefano's car goes into the Salem River. Alex emerges from the water calling for help. Roman and Abe land, and join the police searching the water. As soon as the officers see Roman, they place him under arrest. They point search lights at the water, and see Alex struggling. Then, Alex sees what he thinks is a shark fin and really freaks out. He is pulled out of the water. Took em long enough, he almost drowned! He gives his statement to the police. Alex makes up a story about spotting Stefano getting into his car. So, he jumped in, and took both Stefano's and Petrov's guns. Then, he spilled champagne in Petrov's eyes, and the man went off the pier and into the water. Did he see the two men get out of the car? No! It was dark down there, he couldn't see a thing.

The station calls Don to tell him that Roman has been arrested. Marlena doesn't believe this! They should be arresting Stefano! She barges past the reporters to get to her husband. Roman, Abe, and the commissioner arrive at the station. Roman and Abe tell him that the man with the knife was Andre Dimera. He is Tony's cousin. Tony Dimera was held prisoner during this time, and can corroborate their story. Anna Dimera can as well. This is the most bizarre tale he's ever heard!

Marlena and Don arrive. She demands that her husband be uncuffed. Well, that can't happen just yet. In fact, Marlena is to be put under arrest as well. Don asks for alone time with his clients, and Roman and Marlena have a mini reunion. The had cops picked up a jealous May Lin and has been singing like a bird. She was in on every aspect of Stefano's plan from the beginning. The commissioner has no choice but to free Roman. Roman thanks Don and Abe before going to the hospital to see his brother. They arrive at the hospital, and Marie informs them that there was a complication in surgery. Bo had some internal bleeding, and they'll have to keep a close eye on him. Bo wakes up and sees Roman and Marlena. He realizes that all the hiding is finally over. Now the only thing to do is to get him better, and out of this hospital. Roman wants him to know that he'll never forget all Bo did for him. Acknowledgement from his big brother? What's this world coming to? Roman leaves Bo to rest. He needs to get to his folks anyway.

5/15 Roman's welcome home is ruined by reporters swarming around the house. The phone is ringing off the hook, so he decides to sneak over to the Horton's. Roman arrives at the Horton’s back door, and calls Abe to take care of the reporters. A very determined reporter, Brenda Carlisle, manages to get into the Horton house, and begs Roman to let her tell his story. Roman tells her no way, and heads back home.

Eugene and Don arrive at Marlena's to handle the annulment. Eugene declares that though it was short, it was a great marriage. Marlena points out how they never even fought. Gene declares, "It was a great marriage!” Roman returns, and Gene fills him in on the annulment. He notes how the press would love to get a hold of this story. Roman goes on and on about how tired he is, and how he misses the simple life. Someone's at the door, but Roman begs Gene not to answer. He thinks Roman will want to see this person. Carrie comes in, and runs straight to her father. Shawn tells him that Carrie was talking a mile a minute ever since she got off the plane. Daddy this, Daddy that. Carrie tells Roman how much she missed him. She kept telling people that he didn't hurt anyone, and she was right. Now, he's a hero just like her Uncle Bo.

Marlena goes up with Carrie to say hello to her dolls. Roman makes plans with Don to have dinner at Doug's Place tonight. Then, he says goodbye to Shawn. His father is so proud of him. That's nice, but Roman wants him to tell Bo that. Shawn is sure that Bo knows how proud he is of him.

5/16 As Roman is watching the news break of Andre's escape, Shawn arrives, steamed that he still can't see Bo. Roman and Marlena assure him that it's probably just Bo not wanting anyone to see him in pain. Is that supposed to make Caroline feel better? She's been crying her eyes out over her son. Roman will call her to reassure her that things will be back to normal in a matter of days. That may work on Caroline, but Shawn is going to the hospital to see his son! Roman decides to find out the real reason his brother is being so private, and thinks Hope has the answer. Roman calls asking if Larry knows where Hope his. He lies, and pretends to be clueless. Marlena finds it odd that he wouldn't know Hope's whereabouts. They've been inseparable for months. Well, he could be lying, and Roman would love an excuse to punch out the D.A. Roman and Marlena arrive at the hospital, and learn from Neil that Bo requested no visitors. Roman wonders what his little brother is thinking.

5/18 Alex meets with Marlena to discuss the movie he's making. He informs her that Roman will make an appearance in the flick, but no need to worry because he will make sure Roman comes out smelling like a hero. Roman is a hero. Yes, and that's the way he'll be written. Roman and Abe run into Larry and Hope in the park, and learn about the engagement. Roman pulls her aside to discuss this. Hope knows that he never thought she was good for Bo, but she is good for Larry. She stands by her decision to marry him.

Anna reunites with Carrie, who notices how sad her mom looks. She asks Anna to live here with her, Marlena, and Roman. Oh, she can't do that. A baby's on the way, and it'd be too crowded. She holds Carrie, and sings her "Hush Little Baby". Anna starts crying as she realizes she can't buy her daughter anything. Carrie tells her not to be sad, and to come live here. Anna tells her not to worry about a thing. Carrie responds that she worries about her all the time.

Roman arrives at the hospital, and goes to see Bo. He wants to know what his little brother is gonna do about this engagement. Nothing. So, he's just gonna lie there, and care less about Hope marrying that creep? Listen, Roman's the one who said that she was too young and always getting in trouble. Plus, Bo's been telling her how he doesn't love her for months now. Why would she listen to a thing he says? That was only because of the situation with Stefano. Bo can set her straight now. He states that if Hope really loved him she would have known he was lying. She would have come, and at least tried to see him. Roman knows how much pride he has, but Bo better not let that pride get in the way of his relationship with Hope. He knows that if Bo told Hope how much he loved her, she would get rid of Welch in a second. He can't! Bo doesn't want her pity! What is he talking about? He doesn't want Hope's pity, because he can't walk! He doesn't want anyone's pity. Bo tells Roman that he's paralyzed, and may never walk again. Neil didn't say anything, because Bo made him keep quiet. Now, he doesn't want to talk about this or Hope. He tells Roman not to say anything about this, or he'll be dead to him.

Roman leaves the room, and confronts Neil about the diagnosis. Neil sets the record straight that Bo has a very good chance of being able to walk again. He's just fixated on being paralyzed. Roman returns to Bo, and tells him one last thing. Bo is a Brady. He may not have always thought Hope was right for him, but she loves him and if Bo has what God gave him that says he is a man, then he will get up, get out of that bed, find her, and tell her that he loves her.  Bo yells at Roman to come back. "Don't you think I would if I could, damn it!" he screams. Brenda arrives to inform Roman that Alex Marshall has agreed to tell his side of the story. Roman realizes that Brenda is a necessary pest, and invites her in. After hearing what Alex told Brenda, Roman realizes that he will have to be the one to tell his story. Fantastic. Brenda opens the door, and invites her crew in.

5/21 Roman tells Abe that Ms. Carlisle has his number. No, his number's unlisted. Now, Abe gets down to business. He tells Roman about a small bank in Sydney, Australia that's been reporting large amounts of money deposited in an account during this past year. Last count was close to $100 million. The money was withdrawn on May 15th by a woman matching Delila's description. Plus, a boat was stolen by a man wearing a latex mask. The owner ripped off part of the mask, and was able to match the thief's description to Andre. They have to let the world know that these maniacs are on the loose, so that means Brenda gets her story. Brenda goes over how she plans to do her story without disrupting their lives too much. She would like to interview Marlena about how she felt when she thought Roman was dead, and what it was like to keep her child's paternity a secret. Roman and Marlena are greeted by Maxwell. He tells Roman that he did a fine job protecting the citizens of Salem from Stefano, and that the city owes him a great deal.

5/22 Roman visits Bo, who hasn't made any progress with his legs. He tries to convince his brother to tell their folks or somebody. When Bo refuses, Roman calls him a coward. Does he not get that Bo isn't the same man? Something has happened to him, and he doesn't want to see the looks on people's faces when they see him. All this, because he's afraid of a little pity? Is that all he thinks people will think of him? He doesn't know, and doesn't want to find out. And that is what makes him a coward. Bo tells him to just shut up. Big brother always thinks he knows what's best. What? Is he supposed to just stand by and watch Bo cut himself off from the world? He's a coward and selfish to boot! What about Hope? Shouldn't she get a say in this? Hope is with Welch, she made her decision.

She continues that they both know that if Bo would have her she would be by his side, paralyzed or not. But they don't even need to talk about that, because Bo will walk again. Roman does not want to see Bo throw his life away. Bo is trying to live his life, and Roman trying to run it for him. Stubborn as a team of mules, Roman says. They talking about Bo or Roman? They're talking about jackasses. Well, if Bo could get out of this bed, he'd show Roman exactly how he feels about him running his life. "Well, come on! Show me! I'm waiting for ya!", says Roman. Bo tries, but he can't. Roman promises to stay on his case until he can. You know, Bo has gone through hell for Roman, and all he wants to do is help his little brother. Bo has nothing to say, but life is unfair. This time, it hit harder than most. Roman goes back into the hall to get hounded by Danny and Diane.

Abe takes Roman down to the station for a little surprise. A bunch of his fellow officers pour water on him, and celebrate his return with a party. Abe can't help but look out the window, and think of the day he thought Roman had died. Roman says he has a lot of debts to repay. Abe tells him that he did just what he had to, every step of the way. Still, a lot of people got hurt because of it. Abe gathers everyone, and recounts his hardest day as a cop. The day he took Roman's badge. It's only fitting that he's the one to return it. Tony and Anna arrive to discuss Andre. Tony wants Roman and Abe on the case to make sure his cousin doesn't breathe another breath of fresh air ever again.

Bo grabs the phone, but puts it back. He tries to get up, but still can't move. Roman returns, and has been doing some thinking. He tells Bo that Hope deserves an explanation about what's been going on the past few months. He lied to her, he hurt her and the worst part is that Bo still loves her. She deserves to hear that before she goes off and marries Welch. Bo warns Roman not to say anything to her. He promised. Roman states that he is going to find Hope and he is going to tell her exactly what happened to Bo, and then bring her here.

Bo insists that he doesn't want her pity and tells his brother no way! If she saw him this way, that's all she would feel for him. Bo doesn't want any woman in here feeling sorry for him. Roman asks what about the small fact that she still loves him? Bo argues that she doesn't give a damn about him. If she did, she would've come. But she didn't. She's been spending too much time with Welch, and it's best that she forgets him. Roman is not going to let him lie there, and lose Hope. He says he is leaving to find her, and Bo reaches for him. He screams out in pain, and his feet move a little. Roman and Bo celebrate that he's gonna be okay.

5/23 Marlena visits Bo, who is starting to think his leg movement was just a fluke. She thinks that last night was a sign that he will walk again, and has called in their best neurologist, Dr. Rossiter, to run more tests. The doctor comes in, and finds that Bo has regained some feeling in his legs. Now, he's anxious to walk out of the hospital as soon as possible. Marlena reminds him that he still has to recover from being shot. Bo doesn't have the time. He's got to get out of here and find Hope. He asks Marlena what he can do to stop her from marrying Welch. She calls Maggie, who knows the same about Hope's whereabouts as Bo. Still, Marlena tells him not to despair. They'll figure something out.

5/24 Bo screams in pain. Dr. Rossiter and Marlena help him back into bed. She chastises Bo, and tells him that he cannot get out of this bed again. He has to! Bo has to get to Hope! Marlena promises that she'll do her best to find Hope, but he must stay in bed. No. It'll be too late by then.

Roman tells Abe how worried he is about Bo. Brenda starts asking if he's having psychological problems from the shooting, and Roman is reminded not to discuss business or personal matters in her presence. He gets a call from Marlena and rushes out. Roman arrives at the hospital to drive some sense into his brother's thick, Irish skull. Diane listens in as he tells Bo that he plans to call Flo to get Larry's whereabouts. Then, they can go about getting to Hope. Diane purposefully gets herself knocked down by Roman. She pretends to have just called Flo, and learned that Larry never gave her his travel arrangements. He's probably busy with Hope! Bo tries getting out of bed to find her, but Roman forces him back down.

Back home, Roman groans as he is trying to put on a “stupid tie” and complains about having to wear a “stupid suit”. He doesn’t understand why Tony doesn’t have a BBQ. Marlena laughs at the idea of Tony throwing a BBQ at the penthouse. As Roman helps Marlena with her necklace, he gets distracted and starts kissing her neck and telling her how good she smells. Marlena remembers that Brenda is downstairs. He reminds her that Abe took her out so the house is empty as Carrie is with his folks for the night.

Roman urges Marlena to take advantage of the empty house as he continues to kiss her. Roman needs some time home alone to adjust to a normal life. The phone rings and Marlena is called into the hospital. He refuses to go to the party without her. He suggests that she call Tony with their regrets for not being able to make it. He continues that surely she can call the hospital and get some doctor to cover for her. She laughs but tells him she can’t do that as he keeps kissing her. He asks her to look in at Bo while she is there as he keeps making waves about trying to get out of the hospital. When Marlena arrives at the hospital, Danny comes out and asks Marlena if Bo was taking for some mystery test as his room is empty. Marlena says no and then they both run to find his room empty and Bo gone!

5/29 Marlena arrives to talk about Hope, and Danny follows her worried about Bo. They inform Maggie that he ran out of the hospital, and hasn't been seen since. Melissa can tell them that he's not with Hope, because she was asking about him last night. Tom arrives after dealing with a bunch of calls about the wedding. Melissa wonders if they should postpone. No, Alice would have a fit.

5/31 Marlena visits Hope, who gives her the cold shoulder. She wants to talk about Bo. No! Hope refuses to hear any more about Bo Brady. They have to talk about him before it's too late. It's already too late, Hope responds. She has waited and waited for him, but he never came. So, if Marlena thinks she's gonna stop this wedding, she's wrong. "If Bo wanted me, then he'd be here", Hope tearfully says. Marlena runs into Don. She tells him that she won't be staying. She's been getting some very bad vibes about this wedding.

Roman and Marlena meet up. Roman says it's just not right that after all they've been through he gets the woman he loves, and Bo gets nothing. Diane walks in, and Roman goes to question her about Bo's whereabouts. He finds out that Bo stole a car and was headed to find the church. Roman arrives at the church. He sits next to Don, and informs him of the trouble his little brother has gotten into. Larry gives his vows to Hope, and lifts the veil. Howie's face is revealed. He says to Larry, "Talk about gorgeous, doll face, you got a puss on you that won't quit!" He purses out his lips for a kiss from the groom.

6/4 Larry arrives at the station. Roman wants him to know that even though Bo's his brother, he'll do his best to keep personal feelings out of it. If that's true, Larry gives his word that this case will be done by the book. Then, he gets a mysterious call to meet at the Riverfront. Roman gets news that Bo was captured and escaped. There's still no sign of Hope.

Roman returns from booking Bo. He kept the note Hope wrote. He tells Abe that he just doesn't understand people sometimes. Bo would lay down his life for this girl, and she tells him that she loves Larry Welch and then runs off. How could she be so mean? Larry returns and informs Roman and Abe that Hope escaped from Bo, and hitched a ride back to his place. She's now sedated, and can be questioned in the morning. Now, he'd like to see the prisoner.

Roman visits Bo first. He tells him that he read the note. Well, Bo doesn't believe it for one minute. He's got to get to Hope, and talk to her about this. Larry comes in with good news for Bo. Hope has been found. She is currently in Larry's apartment. Laying in his bed. Bo reaches through the bars threatening to kill Welch. He begs Roman to let him out. Let him get his hands on Larry. Roman yells that Larry's a slime. He promised that he wouldn't let his personal feelings get in the way! Larry wants Roman to know that he's throwing the book at Bo.

6/6 Roman gets word that Bo's been hurt just as Larry comes in being smug as usual. Roman begs his brother to tell him who did this, and vows to kill 'em. A half-conscious Bo tells him only one Brady in prison at a time. Larry looks at Bo, and says that he got what he deserved. Roman grabs him, and says that if Bo didn't need him he'd be putting Larry in a stretcher right now! And that's on the record!

6/7 Neil informs Marlena that Bo is in a very depressed emotional state, and needs her expertise. Marlena pulls Alice aside to update her on Bo. He just seems terribly sad, and not seeming to care about anything. Alice knows he feels that way because of Hope. Marlena fears that his feelings are only one-sided. Despite all that's happened, Alice just knows Hope still loves Bo.

6/11 Roman and Diane visit Bo. He wanted to be the one to inform Bo of Hope's wedding today. "Hope who?", he replies. Bo tells Roman about how Welch has been blackmailing Diane to keep him and Hope apart. Diane tries to make it seem that it really wasn't that bad, but blackmailing is a serious crime. So, if Welch gives her a hard time again, she needs to come to Roman. She understands, and leaves for work.

Roman tells Bo that he heard from Alice what happened yesterday. He never took Hope for being so mean and spiteful. He also can't help but blame himself. He knows that Hope would be marrying Bo right now if it weren't for him. Bo doesn't know about that. From the look on her face, he's not sure she ever loved him. He wants to know what's going on with his case? Roman tells him that there will be a preliminary hearing next week. That's not much time. Roman fears that he's gonna try something crazy, and urges him not to. Bo's not making any promises. Roman wants to know one thing, and that's if he did force Hope to go with him. Look, she was mad at first, but she wanted to be there. She even laughed when a cop chased 'em a little.

Roman comes in to talk to Hope. He's not here to change her mind about Bo or the wedding, but to remind her just how far their two families go back. How far her and Bo go back. He wants to know if she can stick by her story about the kidnapping after all this is over, because he doesn't believe a word of it. He's not about to stand by and let his brother rot in jail, and can't believe Hope would either. He wants her to think hard about if she can really say that she didn't want to be with Bo that night. Hope angrily tells him that she doesn't need to think it over. She's not changing her mind about the kidnapping charges. If Roman ever finds out that she is lying to him right now, she will have him to answer to!

6/13 Roman meets Marlena with bad news. He's been called away for an undercover op with Abe for a few days. She isn't happy about this, but understands. Well, he doesn't. Sometimes, he wonders if what he put her through was all worth it. She knows how much he loves his job. That's what makes it worth it. Don comes in, and Roman tells him to take care of his wife. Marlena explains that he'll be going undercover for a few days. She doesn't like it, but being married to a cop, it's just something she'll have to get used to. Don did warn her not to marry a cop. She should've stuck with someone safe, like him.

Roman gets back to the station, and gets in his disguise (which does involve him taking OFF his shirt, a rare shirtless Roman scene). He tells Abe that telling Marlena was like kicking her in the teeth. He wonders if their job is just a big waste of time. It takes so much man power and time just to take down one criminal, and the next day there's a hundred more like 'em. He's right, but somebody's got to do it.

6/15 Roman, Abe, and Frank Weston arrive at the stakeout. Abe asks about Marlena. She's okay, just worried about him. Well, these stakeouts are always harder on the women. Abe wonders if Roman should get off the streets, and train younger cops. No. It wouldn't change the system. It certainly wouldn't make it any easier on the wives of those young cops.

6/18 At the station, Marlena hears that an officer is down. Roman comes back holding up Frank, who's been shot. He tells Roman to call his wife. Frank loses consciousness. Roman keeps thinking of the two-year-old Frank has. He knows the crook is in that warehouse, and goes back to get him. Abe chases after him. Roman and Abe find the perp. Roman's filled with rage, and loses control. Abe convinces him to just take this guy down to the station. Sure, and tomorrow they'll be looking for his twin.

Marlena goes to the commissioner to find out what he's gonna do with the kids. He's mainly interested in the dealer, but first they gotta call the parents to find out who the minors are. Marlena thinks she should call Melissa's parents. She reminds her that Pete's on probation and Carlo's here on a visa. They need Mickey on their side. Roman and Abe arrive at the station, relieving Marlena.

Roman checks on Frank, who's still in surgery. To counter the bad news, the commissioner informs Roman that he's been promoted to lieutenant. Now, he just has to accept it. Abe tells him to remember earlier when he was talking about how much he wanted to change things. Marlena doesn't want to influence his decision. She just wants to know what he plans to do with the rest of his life.

6/21 Marlena turns on the news, and hears about three cops from Roman's precinct being shot. She starts to break down when Roman returns home. He turns off the tv and holds his wife. Marlena says it's really okay. She's just overreacting cause of the pregnancy. Well, Roman's been doing some thinking, and he wouldn't look too bad in a coat and tie. He's taking the job? Yes. "Oh, I'm so happy!", she exclaims. In fact, Marlena's already been picking out suits and ties. Megan returns to the club, and sees Roman there. They have a mini reunion before she gets back to her father. Roman wonders if Bo's going to see her. Marlena doesn't think seeing his first love will help him get over Hope any faster.

6/27 Marlena meets Marie and Melissa to go over plans for July 4th. Diane talks with Marlena about her problems. She says that sometimes she feels the need to turn a trick. Like some sort of challenge to see if she can turn a guy on. She wonders if she can set up an appointment at the office. Marlena writes down her number to set it up, but Diane's already changing her mind. She feels like she's not even worth it. Marlena let's her know that everyone is worth what it takes to feel good.

6/28 Bo finds trouble at the docks when he runs into the boyfriend of a girl he was partying with. Roman breaks it up, and lectures Bo on having a death wish. Unless this is official business, he doesn't wanna hear Roman running his life. Well, he'd love to bring his brother in for disturbing the peace, drunk and disorderly conduct, etc. Go ahead as Bo claims he doesn't care. Well, Roman does care and he thinks they need a heart-to-heart.

Roman tells Bo that back when he was undercover he overheard a conversation between him and Mrs. H. Bo was telling her how much he cared for Roman, and that he'd sacrifice anything. Roman sees that sacrifice in regards to Hope. When he thought Marlena was dead, all Roman wanted to do was shut down. He didn't want to think about her, or talk about her to anyone. He was so hurt that he wouldn't let anyone in, because he knew whatever anyone tried to do was never going to ease that pain. Bo knows the feeling. Roman tells him that he now realizes he was wrong then. So, he doesn't want Bo to shut that door or bear this pain alone. Roman loves him, and will always be here to talk. Bo doesn't wanna talk right now, but he'll remember what was said.

7/3 Roman arrives at Bo's to face his brother's ire. Bo's already calling him a traitor, and saying how Roman always thought he had the right to decide his life for him. Why did he not tell Bo that he had a son? He grabs his brother and screams, "You should've told me Roman!" Roman pulls him off, and admits that he should've said something... if the baby had lived. But he insists that the baby is dead. What is he talking about? Megan told Bo that he has a son and she gave him away. That doesn't make any sense. Roman admits to Megan calling him, and telling him about the pregnancy. She made him swear not to tell Bo, so he didn't. A few days later, she called again to inform him she miscarried. Since Roman thought the baby died, he didn't say anything. If he thought for one second Bo's child was alive, he would've told him. Well, Megan has a very different story, so somebody's lying.

Dvd #9B Bo and Roman bring Megan downstairs to interrogate her about why she lied. She breaks down in tears, but sticks to her story about having the baby. She was very mentally unwell at the time. Her mother kept filling her head with lies about Bo not caring about her. She goes on to talk about seeing Roman at an abortion clinic. Apparently, he was part of a raid at that clinic when she was there. She was gonna kill the baby? No. She didn't want to. Her mother was forcing her. Then why did she call Roman just a few days later to say she miscarried? Because, she knew he would tell Bo about the baby.

She didn't want Bo to come back to her just because she was having his child. She didn't want him to think that she was trapping him in a marriage. Bo still blames Roman for not telling him. If that baby was dead, he didn't see the point in telling Bo and making him miserable. Still, Bo had a baby and he deserved to know about it. Now he does, so he and Megan can sort it out. Roman's done. Megan begs Bo not to blame his brother. He was only doing what she asked. Yeah, kept her from killing his baby. No, Megan never could've gone through with it. Bo looks at her and wipes away her tears. He's sorry about all she went through. He has a lot of making up to do, and he knows just how to do it.

7/17 Abe picks up a woman at Blondie's, and they both sit down with Max. Roman knows that woman is a rookie cop, and goes over to see what his old partner is up to. Abe admits he's in the observation phase on a new case. He can't say anything else, though.

7/18 Diane arrives for her appointment with Marlena. She still feels like a loser with no place to go. Some people just have a talent for living the way that makes them happy, and that's not her. What would it take to make her happy right now? Love. Has she ever been loved? No. What about her parents? She only lived with her mother who never cared about her. Diane always thought she was a bad girl, and that's why no one loved her. So, she shut off her feelings to avoid getting hurt. Has she ever been close to anybody? Yes. She shows Marlena a picture of a 4-year-old boy. Marlena gives Bo a note she got. It's from Kim asking him to call her in Paris. She then asks if he and Diane are still close. She needs a friend, and Bo promises to be there for her.

7/19 Roman has found out about Abe's new case, and needs to meet with him immediately. Abe explains that he kept quiet about the case, because he knows Roman wouldn't be able to resist getting in on the action. But this case is dangerous and requires being on the streets. Abe feels it is his duty to protect Roman, Marlena, and their unborn child and Roman believes it's his job to protect Abe and Bo. It's a little too  coincidental that Bo's started this new life working with Max Hathaway just as Abe starts investigating the man. Abe wants Roman to stay off this case.

Marlena sees Diane crying in the park. She says that she ran into her former pimp.  He still thinks he owns her. No matter how long she stays off the streets, Nick will always think he owns her! He paid all her hospital bills, and took real good care of her after she gave birth. He probably did that so Diane would feel a sense of obligation to him, which she did. Marlena just reminds Diane that she has more strength than she ever thought possible, and doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to.

Roman and Abe run into Marlena in the park. Abe informs her that Roman's mad, because he's doesn't want the man running all over the place trying to save the world. What a coincidence, she's been saying the exact same thing. He doesn't wanna hear it from her either. He apologizes. He just misses going on these cases with Abe. They change subjects to their baby. Roman's planning on making a cradle for the newborn. Marlena asks about Kimberly. She hopes to meet her. Roman hasn't heard back from her. He says that she's not like the rest of the Brady's. She's a little more sophisticated.

7/20 Alice and Tom wait for Marlena in her office. Apparantly, Caroline is very worried about Kim. Marlena says that Roman's been trying to call her, but she's always out. Last he heard, she checked out of the hotel. Diane arrives for her therapy session. She's been looking into how much it would cost her to get her son back. She doesn't see any way to get enough money without going back on the streets. She even called her mom, but she refused to help. Diane thinks maybe it's for the best. Her son will be starting school next year, and she knows kids would bully him about not having a daddy. At least his foster parents are a couple. She never should've gone to see him all those months ago, either. Because now he knows she's his mother, and he hates her. She can hear it in his voice when they talk on the phone. He hates her, because she abandoned him.

7/23 Roman arrives at Shenanigan's to meet Marlena only to hear from Danny that she took Alex down to the docks. Marlena teaches Alex about rain. It's not depressing like he thinks. Rain is exhilarating! It's the rain that clears the air, fills the river, brings new light. No, Alex says while sneezing, "It brings pneumonia". Alex asks to go back to Shenanigan's, but that all depends on if he's still depressed. She knows he's lost a lot this year. That's why it's important to appreciate God's natural gifts, like summer rain. Roman comes up to them, yelling at Alex for having his pregnant wife out in the cold rain. Marlena tries to explain that this was her idea, and standing out in this rain is just as safe as taking a cold shower.

Roman and Marlena come into the restaurant. He tells her that she's his life. She's absolutely everything to him, but when she does things like what she did tonight she worries him. He wants to yell at her that she's gonna hurt herself. Marlena never meant to worry him, and she won't do it again. She's just been having these impulses lately, and they seem like so much fun. Walking in the rain with Alex is fun? Well, she came in here looking for Roman and found him all alone. She asked what was wrong, and he told her that the rain made him sad. So, she took him outside to try and cheer him up. She's so happy with her life that she just wants everyone to be happy.

7/24 Marlena has come in to check on Diane after their session. Diane says that she doesn't want to burden to her, and then passes out. When she comes to, she admits that she hasn't been able to face anyone after their session today. That's normal. Marlena tells her that deciding to give up a child is the most difficult decision one can make. Whatever Diane decides, she will support. Her son deserves a real family, more than foster parents and certainly more than her. Marlena asks her not to think, but just say what is best for the baby. Diane answers to give him up.

7/25 Roman reunites with Kim at the party. The happy reunion is cut short when she pulls him aside, and tells him that she's desperate. He grabs Marlena, and they all say goodbye to Tony. Roman, Marlena, and Kim end up at Shenanigan's. She tells him about the whole debacle with Tony earlier. She says she couldn't go to their folks or his place, because that's what "they" would've expected. She tells Roman that upon returning from a cruise, she found her place in Paris ransacked. Nothing was taken but then, it happened again. She moved to a hotel, but it happened again. She's worried that since nothing was ever stolen, what these people are wanting is her!

7/26 Diane arrives at Marlena's in a crisis. Her son's foster parents are getting a divorce. The woman wants to keep him, but would have to get a job. Then, she wouldn't be able to spend time with him. Of course, Diane still isn't a viable option to raise her son. She met with the lawyer for the parents who want to adopt, and they seem like the perfect family. Still, Marlena wants her to take time with this decision. Diane doesn't have time. She has to make her decision fast. So fast that she won't be able to feel anything.

Kim makes plans to buy a car and tells Marlena she’s home to stay. Kim meets Roman at the Park Café. She tells him how it went reuniting with the folks. Caroline crying... Shawn yelling... But it's good to be home. Well, Roman has some bad news. He contacted the Paris police and there's still nothing on who ransacked her place. She didn't think there would be, but she's no longer frightened. Marlena joins them. She's so hungry that it seems like she's eating for three these days. Roman wonders if she knows something he doesn't. Twins do run in the family. Marlena insists that she is not having twins. She'd know if she were.

7/27 Marlena at Shenanigan’s with Diane.

8/8 Roman tells Marlena that she is a lucky woman to have a hubby who will drive her out at night for a pickle and peanut butter sandwich. She says that now she only wants warm milk, and Roman groans as he could have given her that at home. When the waiter comes over, she orders a pickle and hot fudge sandwich. Roman asks if the chef could manage that request for his wife, and if he mentions his name the chef will understand.

When the sandwich arrives, she can’t seem to bring herself to eat it. He teases her and she tells him that she could eat him under the table. While Roman is away at the phone, Don joins Marlena. As he stares at her in curiosity, she disposes of half of the sandwich as she plans on teaching her husband a lesson. When Roman returns, she hands him the other half of the sandwich. He groans that he has just been called into the PD. She lets him off the hook but warns him to never call her chicken again.

8/13 Marlena arrives bearing a picnic basket at the pier and asks Tony if he has seen Kim. He claims he hasn’t and Marlena asks him how he got off on the wrong foot with Kimberly and he tries to explain their awkward meeting. Marlena invites him to join her for dinner. Kimberly swims back up Kimberly told Marlena she was having problems finding a job in Salem all of them were boring or just didn't pay enough that when Marlena suggested Tony could find her a job because he owned so much companies. Finally Tony agreed to look at her portfolio.

8/14 Alex stops by Roman and Marlena’s table and mentions an article in the paper, and says, “Poor kid”. Marlena asks what is going on but Alex doesn’t want to tell them. Roman declares he might as well, and they learn Diane has died. Marlena is upset and then groans in pain. Roman is immediately worried about her, but she says the baby is kicking. Marlena tells him that she was working with Diane and couldn’t tell him before, she had placed her son in foster care. She says that Diane had changed her mind. Roman agrees that she should tell Bo. Marlena phoned Bo in New Orleans and left a message with Diane. She asks her to tell Bo the reason Diane went to New Orleans was to find her son whom she had given up (and of course she never does).

Kimberly told Roman how they had been another break-in at a place she had stayed in Paris, Roman asked her if there was anything she was hiding she said no but Roman wasn't convinced Kimberly just rushed off as Abe walked in. Abe confronted Roman about all the traveling that he was doing lately but he said there was nothing to it just routine work. Abe told him he thought that he was working for the ISA but Roman denied it. Abe told him as a friend and a partner that Roman working with the ISA especially since Marlena is pregnant that there could be only one reason, that Roman believes Stefano DiMera is still alive! Roman does not answer the very pointed question.

8/15 Marlena and Maggie were having lunch at the Salem Inn. She told Marlena she thought Don and Mickey were hiding something from her and that Melissa overheard and she won't tell her anything either. Marlena told her not to worry Don would tell her soon and encouraged her to talk to him. Marlena went over to ask Eugene for a lift to the hospital but he had lent his cab to Calliope. Later when Marlena was returning to her table, she was surprised to see Maggie walking out on Don.

8/23 Roman and Marlena were trying to convince Kimberly to stay with them but she wouldn't hear of hear it. Roman told her he heard Alex Marshall only washed the sheets once a week to save money and they all started laughing.

8/24 Marlena arrived at Tony’s penthouse to discuss with Tony the hospital’s fundraiser. Alex Marshall and Marie Horton came in. She had cut her hair and asked Marlena if she liked it? Marlena responds, “No, I love it!”

8/27 Roman and Abe were trying to assemble a crib for him and Marlena's baby. They were having a hard time fixing it so Marlena decided to make them lunch then Eugene called and told Abe he was very worried about Hope but Abe told him that he got it from a reliable source that she was in safe hands. They were still trying to put the crib together. Carrie had been helping and Roman told her to stop because she was going to mess everything up but she ended up being more help than trouble because she figured out how to put up the crib.

8/28 Carrie runs up to see her auntie Kimberly and gives her a big hug. Carrie announces that she fixed the baby’s crib! Roman groans that he is never going to live this down. Roman is very cute with Carrie, teasing her and laughing with her as Kim watches growing more and more emotional. As he kisses her and tells her how much he loves her, Kim cries and runs out. Marlena follows her out and finds her crying in her car. Kim apologises for spoiling their evening. Marlena asks if seeing Carrie and Roman so playful upset her? She admits to feeing a little jealous.

Marlena mentions unfulfilled dreams and Marlena offers that they can talk about it. Kimberly doesn’t want to feel like she is in a therapy session. Marlena offers they can talk like family. Kim first says that she doesn’t know what she wants and is frustrated. Marlena suggests that she became emotional as she wants a family of her own, and we see a recognition in Kim’s eyes that yes she does want that too. The ladies return to the table, Kim a bit embarrassed. Roman invites her to move in with them and be part of their family. Cute story about the tooth fairy as obviously Carrie has lost some front teeth!

8/29 At the park, Marlena ran into Maggie who asked her to speak to Hope who she reported has been behaving oddly and she said she would. Marlena arrived at Hope’s and mentioned that Hope wasn't showing yet. Hope told her she must be just like her mother she heard she didn't show until she was six months. Eugene arrived just as Marlena asks her due date. They rush out for a doctor’s appointment and will report back on the due date! Hope hurried Marlena out telling her she would talk to her later. Marlena then joins Alice and Tom and reports that she feels Hope is behaving oddly. They tell her Hope is just high strung because of her pregnancy and they should just all give her some space.

8/30 Roman goes to see Hope. She is upset and rattled and he asks if she is okay? She insists that she is, and he tells her that he is there to talk to her about Bo. To distract him, she asks Roman if he would like something to drink? To eat? She calls Shane and he comes downstairs, first scene between Shane and Roman. She tells Shane she is starving and asks him to fix her something to eat. He disguises his voice after she introduces “Roman Brady” as Roman looks at Shane puzzled. Roman tries to question Hope about exactly what job Bo is doing for Maxwell Hathaway, but she pleads ignorance. He doesn’t seem surprised by her lack of cooperation and she asks her to contact him if she remembers anything.

Over at the Salem Inn, Roman apologises for keeping Marlena waiting. Soon Alice and Hope enter and spot the happy couple and Alice softly says, “Oh no!”. When Roman and Marlena invite them to join them, Alice quickly says they couldn’t. Don met up with Marlena and Roman after Roman left the table Marlena asked him if he needed to talk? He told her that Maggie gave him back his ring, breaking off their engagement. He didn't feel like talking she told him okay but if he ever needed to he could come to her. They talk about the ultrasound and Carrie demanding a baby brother.

8/31 Marlena has lunch with Marie at the Salem Inn.

9/3 Marlena arrived at Larry and Hope’s townhouse with Dr. Horton, she asked them if they knew where Gene was she had been trying to reach him and he wasn't answering the phone she also said she saw someone upstairs in the house. Hope told her Gene was probably caught up in one of his inventions, Marlena said yes probably that's it but she would try calling again. The person Marlena saw was actually Calliope who'd been kicked out of her apartment and was now residing at Gene's unknown to him. They head over to a political fundraiser for Larry.

9/4 Roman returns home from a trip and enjoys embracing his wife and looks forward to an evening alone. Just as they relax into the couch together, the doorbell rings and at the same time the phone rings. It is Tom at the door, and Larry on the phone looking for Hope. Tom grabs the phone out of Marlena’s hand as she is telling Larry that Hope isn’t there. Tom apologized to Marlena for snatching the phone from her. Tom settles in and shows no sign of leaving and is obtuse about them wanting to be alone together. Tom suggests to Roman they play some chess to pass the time.

When Hope arrived, he asked her if Alice had went to bed, Hope didn't catch on at first but then she said yes. After Tom left, Bo arrived and told Marlena he came to see how the pregnant lady was and rubbed her stomach. He said seems like I can't go anywhere without running into you Mrs. Welch, Roman said do you two expect us to believe you just happened to come over here and demanded to know what was going on. Marlena said she felt they had issues to resolve and if they didn't it could cause problems with Hope's marriage and her baby so she and Roman left them alone to talk.

9/5 Marlena rushes to a ringing phone but there is no one there by the time she answers it. Roman asks if she is worried about the test results they are waiting for. Maggie comes over as she knows Marlena is waiting for the ultrasound results. As the ladies relax, Roman gets busy in the kitchen and Maggie raves as he waits on them. Marie soon arrives to keep Marlena company and assures her that Neil is on his way to the hospital to read the results.

Abe calls and invites Roman to lunch as he would like to discuss some department business with him. A somber Marlena walks him to the door as he reassures her that everything will be just fine and he will be home soon. Marie notices that Maggie isn’t wearing her engagement ring. Roman and Abe were having lunch at Shenanigans, Roman still demanded to know what was going on with him and the case he is working on with Bo? Abe reminds him that he couldn’t talk to him about it. Roman told him Marlena had gotten an ultrasound that morning and they were waiting on the results.

Neil is talking to Marlena about wanting to come over and deliver this news in person but they don’t mention what the big news is. He offers to help her with anything she needs and heads out. Roman soon returns home and she sits him down to give him the news. Marlena is trying to tell him that they are BOTH okay, and he thinks she means her and the baby. She says yes the baby is fine and so is the OTHER baby just as the doorbell rings and he looks at her in confusion not comprehending what she is trying to tell him.

Marie and Maggie return with another crib and Roman continues to be puzzled and points out that they already have a crib. Marlena informs him this is the crib for the other baby, and announces they are having twins. Roman looks like he might faint.

9/6 Roman came over to Kim’s and his shaken sister ran into her brother’s arms. He looked the place over after it was ransacked and told Kimberly not to worry he would look into the matter. Marlena and Roman took Hope home and Marlena told her if there was anytime she wanted to talk feel free to call her, Hope offered to help her shop for the baby and she said that would be wonderful and then they left.

9/7 Bo and Roman had another talk about him and Hope but Bo just kept avoiding the questions. He stormed out when Roman told him he was going to get to the bottom of it. Bo declared he wasn't a little boy anymore and looks concerned about Roman’s curiosity. Kimberly and Roman returned home to find the place ransacked and Roman thinking Marlena was still at home rushed upstairs but she had left, Kimberly told him she wanted to run as far away as she could but Roman told her no she was family and he was going to help her, he called a squad car over.

9/14 Abe runs into Roman and tells him that he just ran into Bo and he thinks he found his son. Roman asks Abe to fill in Marlena when she arrives and asks Abe to keep her there while he figures out what is going on. When Marlena arrives, she argues that she wants to be at the hospital with Bo and Roman. Abe reminds her that the situation is bound to be stressful and emotional. Roman had told Marlena doesn’t listen and still came anyway. She said she wanted to be there for Bo. Bo told Roman something did not sit right with him about this situation. He reports that when he questioned Neil about the parents but Neil just snapped.

9/17 Marlena went over to pay a visit to Bo. She felt that they shouldn't pressure the relatives of the adoptive parents if they hoped to regain the child. Bo tells her that he doesn’t think they will have any problems over custody. He asks her if she still has the photo of Diane and heads back to the hospital.

Over at the hospital, Marlena came by with him and told him he shouldn't be running through the hospital like that. She asked Megan to speak to Bo alone and Megan said anything she said she could say it in front of her. Marlena told her it was family business and Megan finally took the hint and left. Then Marlena shared with Bo what Zachary had told her about Megan. She had come into the boy’s room and said she was his mother and that he was going to have to come live with him. He got upset and ran off. Marlena warns Bo that the child is going to need to learn to trust them first and not to rush things. Bo was angry about this. He showed the boy a picture of Diane and asked him if he knew her. Zachary said yes but he hated her. She said she would come back and she never did. Bo calls Diane (who turns out is not dead) and informs her that he thinks he found her son.

9/19 Bo is at the hospital to visit Zachary and Neil told him he had been taken for some more tests. Bo grabs Neil about him being taken away. Marlena walked in and scolded them for acting that way in the hospital. Bo told her it was his fault and Neil said he was under stress. Marlena and Abe were over at the Cheating Heart when she explained to him what happened at the hospital that morning with Bo. Larry Welch walked in and Marlena couldn’t help but notice Abe staring daggers at him. She told him if he could take his eyes off of Welch she would like him to keep and eye on Bo.

10/1 An exhausted Roman returns home and greets his beautiful wife and her growing belly. She finds a note in his jacket about Stefano and Andre. When he gets out of the shower, she shows him the note and asks if he really believes that Stefano and Andre are alive? He declares there is no evidence to indicate Stefano is alive. She realises that he believes Andre is alive. He shares that they have received anonymous letters indicating he has been spotted in Europe.

She realises he doesn’t think it is a vicious prank and this explains all the meetings he is going to. She asks if he is going after Andre on his own? She worries that he is involved with the ISA again, even though he tells her that he is not. He does admit to doing some investigating on his own. She asks why does he have to go after Andre on his own? He reminds her of all the people that creep killed, the idea that if he is alive out there somewhere that he has to do something.

She puts her arms around him and begs him to throw those letters away. He soberly tells her that he can’t do that. She asks him to think about us, Carrie, and the babies. She pleads that they all need him. He reminds her of the horror of her thinking he was dead. He wants their children to have a safe future and not be terrified that Andre will return and get his revenge. She cries that she can’t loose him and she pleads for him to give the letters to Abe, to the ISA and let them handle it. He grudgingly agrees and tells her he will let go of this. As tears of relief run down her face, he tucks her into bed with promises of hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Marlena has a bad dream and wakes up crying for Roman. She then feels pain and her calls become more urgent. He rushes in and she tells him she had a dream that she couldn’t find him and that Andre had a knife. She shakily tells him she is having pain and cries that it is too early. He calms her down but soon she is groaning in pain. He starts freaking out and she tries to calm him down, that is until she has another pain and she tells him to call the hospital just in case. He looks worried, and then she cries out in pain again and tells him to call an ambulance! She tells him that she doesn’t think this is false labor. Roman and Marlena rush to the hospital.

10/2 A frantic Roman paces the hall worried and desperate for information (BTW, he is still wearing his yellow robe, not taking time to change). Tom comes in as he saw the ambulance and headed over. Roman tells him that she is having labor pains and it is too early. Tom sits him down and talks him down as he explains that it will take a half hour for them to get test results and she has the best OB. Roman jumps up and Tom gets him to sit down again, sternly but also very calm. He then starts to tell Roman about Alice going into labor and tells him a wild story about her going into labor during a snowstorm and a doctor having a dog sled that they used to get to Alice.

Roman is only half listening but puzzled as Tom tries to get him to focus. Roman looks confused about this story he never heard before, and questions dog sled? Tom laughs that he bets Roman won’t be able to go five minutes without thinking of a dog sled (LOL). Roman jumps up as Marlena is rolled by as they take her to the Labor Room to use the metal monitoring. He asks her doc how frequent the contractions are and he says every five minutes. Roman calls Neil and fills him in. He asks him to come down to the hospital in case of complications as he can’t get any information.

Hope comes in and Roman is worried about a pregnant Hope being stressed out by being here and tries to get her to leave. She refuses and wants to know what is going on and they fill her in, but Roman worries about her as well. Of course Hope refuses to leave.

Roman finally gets to see his resting wife once she is out of the labor room and kisses her. She says they were able to slow the contractions down and now it is just a wait and see as she has no more signs of premature labor. She then gets another pain and tells him it was about eight minutes apart which is good news. She is calm and peaceful and declares that they are going to have their family and nothing is going to spoil this. Tom comes in and tells them that it was false labor and she can go home in a little while. He warns her she has to rest and not scare Roman like this again. As Tom leaves, Roman climbs into bed with her and sighs in relief as he brings her into his arms.

10/3 Marlena tells Carrie that her daddy is making them lunch. Carrie hopes it is peanut butter and jelly which is her favourite. Roman comes out with a plater of chicken salad sandwiches and potatoes chips. Carrie asks Marlena if this is her favourite? Marlena disappointedly says no and Carrie agrees that it is not her favourite either. Marlena says that they were kinda hoping for peanut butter and jelly and points out that is Carrie’s favourite. Carrie says that is okay that she never gets anything she wants. Her daddy points out that she is getting two brand new twins. She thought maybe they would come yesterday and asked if they changed their minds? She does insist that when they do come that they have to stay out of her room and out of her stuff and runs upstairs.

When Marlena returns later, she asks if he talked with Carrie as Roman runs downstairs to greet her. Roman shares that Carrie is very stubborn. Carrie wants to eat her sandwich in her room but he insisted that she come downstairs. He proudly figures once she gets hungry enough that she will come downstairs. Marlena questions if maybe Carrie isn’t feeling a little threatened right now with the arrival of the twins? He says that Carrie has been very excited about the twins.

Marlena points out that was before the babies became more of a reality, like when Marlena was rushed to the hospital last night. She continues that Carrie is feeling left out and bound to feel threatened. Marlena suggests they talk to Carrie and assure her how much they love her and then when she feels more secure she won’t be afraid of the twin’s arrival anymore.

He wonders if he should take her lunch up to her? Marlena suggests packing it up and taking it to the park and having a picnic, just him and Carrie. She wants to stay close to home and would be good for Carrie to have some time alone with her dad. He surprises her with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They talk about the twins and that he will love Carrie just as much.

He then takes her over to Salem Inn for ice cream and runs into Abe. He asks why Abe is interested in Larry’s dear old dad as Roman found out he has been researching Larry’s background? Abe tells him that he got a tip that he is following up on. Abe doesn’t think he should tell Roman anything about it. He smiles that he can see Roman wants in on it and he admits that he does.

10/5 Roman comes home and finds that Marlena is ordering Apnea mattresses which have special monitors to make sure the babies are breathing. He is home to take her into his check up. He asks about these special mattresses and she tells him she just wants to make sure that the babies are safe. He looks at her concerned and asks if there is anything she isn’t telling him? She says that she doesn’t think she will be able to sleep once she brings the babies home when they are off the monitors. She shares the death of her baby and she just wants to do everything she can to know if there is anything wrong and tells him how the monitors work.

Abe calls to talk to Roman. She asks him if he knows anything more about Andre DiMera as Roman grabs the phone from her. Abe asks how much she knows about Andre. He admits that Marlena talked him into giving Abe the letters, which satisfies her and she hugs him. Abe wants to meet up somewhere Marlena can’t overhear. Roman tells her that there is an update and he is going to talk to Abe. Roman says once he is dead or captured, then Roman can start to forget about what Andre did to them.

Abe tells Roman that Andre fancies himself as an actor but they haven’t found him yet as he seems to be one step ahead of them. He continues that they learned that Larry Welch was adopted and has hidden that fact. Abe wants to dig into his family history and Roman agrees that a politician doesn’t hide their family history without a very good reason.

He meets up with Marlena at the Salem Inn. She tells him that she is bringing this up one last time. She appreciates that he turned the letters over to Abe and is staying out of this case. She changes the subject and reminds him that they haven’t come up with names for the babies. They agree on Samantha in honor of her sister, but they haven’t figured out a boy’s name. She likes Roman Jr. but he is opposed as it is too confusing.

Eugene joins them and she says that when she first found out she was pregnant, that Eugene had offered to marry her to give the baby a father. Marlena laughs that she had promised that she would name the baby after him. Roman jokes that Roman Jr is sounding better and better.
