Steve feels responsible for not being able to save him from being shot. Now that Marcus is back in his life, he can’t imagine his life without him in it. Now that life is good for Steve, he wants Marucs to be able to share in it. Mike comes out and tells them that Marcus will be just fine! They sit by his bedside while he is still unconscious. Steve wants to have a big party to celebrate when Marcus recovers.

4/20 Steve and Kayla sit in the windowsill of their loft, Steve notices things he has never noticed before. Kayla suggests that it is his brush with death. Steve observes that he is noticing things he hasn’t before, and what a short ride this life is. When Shawn and Caroline stop by the loft, Steve tells them how much it meant to him that they offered him part of his business, that they blew him away. He tells Shawn that he agreed as he was so touched by their offer, but realises it wouldn’t be fair to them as his heart wouldn’t be in it. He has changed his mind and does not want to be his partner. Shawn takes it very well. Steve promises to be around to help out. Kayla gets a notice that the funds she needs for the Community Center will not be coming, not a dime. As Kayla is discouraged, her parents decide to leave and offer to help if any way they can. After they headed out, Steve has an idea. He gets on the phone and starts making calls to arrange a “One Eye Blues Brothers” Band BBQ and sell some tickets to raise money for the center. He promises her that she isn’t going to lose the center.

4/21 Kayla is bummed because she can't figure out where to hold the fundraiser. Steve decides that he Is going to take charge of the situation. Steve assures Kayla the fundraiser for the Community Center will take place on the pier, despite the fact that Reverend Taylor has taken it over for his Bible Recital. A girl in a Laura Ashley dress (Faith) is putting up fliers for the revival when she falls off the pier. Steve dives in and rescues her. Faith introduces Steve and Kayla to her father, Reverend Saul Taylor. Steve asks Reverend Taylor to allow the fund raiser, he refuses, until Faith gets him to change his mind and go along with Kayla's compromise. Kayla takes the opportunity to suggest combining events. The Reverend agrees, as long as nobody actually has fun at the fundraiser. Steve has a weird feeling about the Reverend.

4/25 Kayla and Steve make last minute preparations for their fundraiser on the pier. Faith interrupts them kissing so that she can talk about rules. Steve doesn't really like the "R" word though. Carrie talks to Kayla about her boy problems, Shane asks Steve to meet with him. Then Kayla chats with Faith for a bit. Shane needs to bring in someone to help work as an ISA contact, and he asks Steve if he wants the job. Steve wants time to mull things over. Later at the hospital, Marcus tells Steve about his decision to investigate his past. Steve and Kayla discuss Shane's offer.

4/26 Steve and Kayla are packing up the last of the boxes to move to their new house. Steve is somber about leaving the loft with so many memories. He tells her about where he was standing when she gave him the pool stick, the first gift she ever gave him. He reminds her about how many times they have made love in front of the fire. She points out, “Or on the roof”. She assures him that it isn’t the place, that it will be special whoever they are and they will take their memories with them. She reminds him of the New Year’s Eve they stayed home together and almost made love (flashback). Steve reminds her of when she was deaf and he refused to give up on her, that he still wanted to marry her even though she was being so stubborn about it (flashback). She reminds him of the night they danced on the roof, and he helped her hear the music while she was deaf (Lady in Red flashback). He takes her in his arms and they dance together, enjoying being with each other and remembering all of the happy times at the loft.

Steve and Kayla take a break from moving and visit the revival tent. Kayla talks to Faith and tells Steve she has plans for them that night and gives him a sweet kiss as she leaves. When he returns home later he calls out to her and hears music coming from the roof. He grins as he heads up there. He finds Kayla on the roof, with candles lit and her wearing a white nightie. She grabs an ice cube and starts rubbing it on his chest! They spend a memorable last night on the roof making sexy love.

4/27 Marcus visits Steve and Kayla at the Fish Market, and he brings a file from the orphanage with him. Gail arrives with a little orphaned puppy, and Marcus remembers that he once had a dog before the orphanage. Steve starts a jam session. The Reverend Saul Taylor arrives and disapproves of the music. Things get heated, but the Reverend begrudgingly agrees to let things continue as planned. Later, Saul practices his sermon, while Steve and Marcus eavesdrop. Back at the Fish Market, Steve continues to express his doubts about Reverend Saul's intentions.

4/28 It's the night of the revival/fundraiser. Marcus and Gail arrive, and there are Hortons everywhere. Steve sings a song, and Marcus plays the tambourine. The revival begins. Mickey and Maggie peace out just as the offering plate is being passed around. Faith sings a song, and Marcus starts having flashbacks. Steve and Kayla are brought on the stage for "Amazing Grace", then all hell breaks loose in slow motion as the revival tent collapses, burying everyone in attendance.

5/1 After the epic slow-motion tent collapse, everyone begins making recovery efforts. Steve is relieved to find Kayla is okay and takes her in his arms, relived. The reverend calls for help as injured Faith is unconscious. Alice cries out when she discovers Jennifer is also injured. Jack forces his way into the building yelling for Jennifer. Steve is trying to free her from the beam that she is pinned underneath. When Jack discovers Jennifer, he barks at everyone around to help him get her free. Steve stares at his brother in wonder, and Jack pushes him aside. Working together, they get Jennifer free and to help, but Steve is still watching Jack closely. Steve wants to do a bit of investigating, but he is shooed away by the cop who seems to be working for the reverend, and keeps his eye on Steve.

Steve and Kayla snuggle down in their new mansion in an amazing four poster bed with curtains all around it. The romantic room is filled with candlelight. She is grateful to be able to be with him, and that they could be together again. She was relieved earlier when she heard his voice and knew everything was going to be okay. He holds her in his arms. Later after a phone call, Kayla tells Steve that Jennifer is going to be okay but Faith was more seriously injured so they don’t know. Kayla is very quiet and Steve asks her what she is thinking about. She admits that she was thinking of Emily and Gideon and how much they loved each other and yet they were torn apart by the war. Kayla just wants their move to the new house to the be the start of something good. Steve assures her that this is the start of something good. Steve has a great idea to bring some good vibes into the house. Steve wants to hold a surprise party for Jo's 50th birthday which is coming up next week. He suggests it be a combination house warming and surprise birthday party for Jo. Kayla immediately starts making a list as Steve laughs. He knows as soon as she is in charge of planning a party, she is on a cloud. He declares there are two sure fire ways of getting her worked up. He writes the second one down as she laughs and they start kissing.

5/3 Steve and Kayla are still lounging in bed as Steve reads the morning newspaper about the accident at the revival. He tells Kayla that something isn’t right about this accident and he is determined to find out what it is. He observes the brand new rigging came down like a ton of bricks. He suspects the reverend but Kayla points out his daughter was injured and he wouldn’t have deliberately put her in danger. Steve doesn’t know what is up, but he is sure something is. Steve and Kayla return to the scene of the possible crime, but they are shooed away by a police officer. Steve grows more and more suspicious about the tent debacle. Later, Kayla has a little surprise for Steve as she found another of Emily’s diaries. He asks her to wait to read it until after the party. She asks him whether they should invite Jack to the party? He says no, he doesn’t want him in this house. She points out that Jo would want him at her birthday party. Steve says this is Kayla’s home and Jack being there will make Kayla uncomfortable so it is a definite no! Steve and Kayla engage in a little pillow talk, and kiss and snuggle. She wants things to stay just as they are and not change. He asks if she is worried about him taking the ISA job. He suggests they not worry about the future but focus on what they have right now, each other, this canopy bed, a beautiful home, family and friends. They then turn the focus on each other and begin kissing passionately.

5/5 Kayla is going through pictures and making a collage for Jo’s birthday. Steve finds a picture of Duke and can’t believe Adrienne hung onto it. He is sure Jo doesn’t want to be reminded of him. Kayla suggests they get ready for Kim and Shane’s party for Shane’s old friend, Alfred Jericho. Steve laments that he would like to go to a party that he doesn’t have to get dressed up to attend. She points out that he has been avoiding Shane since he made the job offer. Kayla tells Steve that she will support him in his decision about the ISA job. Steve gets frisky when he sees Kayla all dressed up but she laughs that they are already late. She asks him again about the guest list for Jo’s party. He tells her that Jack is not coming as all he brings is trouble. He declares that he, Kayla, Adrienne and Justin are the only family Jo has and the only family that she needs.

Steve and Kayla arrive at the Donovan’s home. Adrienne and Justin love the idea of the surprise party. Adrienne asks Steve if they have an uncle they don’t know about? Steve and Shane talk and Steve agrees to take the job. Steve tells Kayla that he has taken the job and promises to be careful. Jack and Jennifer are playing the part of a romantic couple for some reason, perhaps the most skeptical reaction comes from Steve and Kayla, and they watch Jack through narrowed eyes, wondering what he's up to. Later, Jack tries to make small talk with Steve and Kayla. He mentions that he knows Jo has a special birthday coming up and he wants to throw a party for her, something nice. Steve bitterly tells Jack that HE is hosting Jo's birthday. When Jack asks about it, Steve nastily informs Jack that he is NOT invited. Jack is hurt and says that if it were 'his' party, he would have invited Steve. Unwilling to deal with this any longer, Steve moves to leave. Iin desperation, Jack tries to talk to Kayla, saying he is sorry if she can't let things go. Kayla stares as Steve grabs Jack and tells him off. Steve and Kayla leave, and Jack stands alone, hurting. From behind, Jennifer has witnessed what happened, and she watches Jack with silent sympathy.

5/9 Kayla and Steve go to the loft apartment; she left behind a pair of earrings, and Kayla is intrigued by the new tenants. She excitedly knocks on the door, and Jack swings the door open, wearing her earrings scornfully. Kayla is thunderstruck and Steve is infuriated. Jack informs them that he is now leasing the place and he and Steve swap tense words again. Steve snarks that he can’t imagine this is his kind of place. Kayla is shaken up and admits that seeing him in there which upsets Steve and he starts pounding on the door. Kayla grabs him and pulls him away and just wants to leave.

Jack and Jennifer are continuing their front as a married couple but the social worker has bad news, no court will give Hannah to Jack to foster, given his past history. As they are taking at the loft, Jack remembers the rape. He is told that he doesn’t meet the basic requirements and realises no on will ever forget what he has done. Adrienne tells Steve that Justin is Alexander's father. After Adrienne leaves, Steve mentions Duke and Jo becomes distant. Earl finds Jo and wants to know where her kids are. Jack overhears only parts of the conversation and gets a stupid plan in his head to hurt Steve. Jo is out, and she meets up with an old, and not-quite-friendly face: Earl Johnson, Duke's twin brother! Jo is very uncomfortable, and more so when Earl divulges his interest in seeing her. He wants to reconnect with his niece and nephew. Jo tells him that he is the last person Steve would want to see, as Jack listens in. Jo warns Erly to stay away from her kids, but he is slimy and determined. Jo finally manages to break away from him, and Jack enters saying hello to this unknown stranger. He heard a part of their conversation, ow would this gentleman like the chance to MEET Steve Johnson? Earl is uneasy, but Jack is oozing confidence. He's sure that Steve would be less than happy to see this man, and Jack is hurt enough right now to make sure that it happens, in front of the entire family even! They'll meet again later, and Jack slinks off into the night, running into Steve and Kayla on the way. He greets them irreverently, meanly glad to be up to no good.

The Johnson family has gathered for Jo's birthday. They toast Jo and the doorbell rings. Kayla hastens to answer it, and it is Jack arriving, uninvited. He is acting smugly and he waltzes in and wishes Jo a happy birthday. He has brought someone, and they all freeze as Earl Johnson comes into the room. Jack takes note of the reactions and belatedly realizes that something is terribly wrong.

5/12 Jo tells everyone Earl is Duke's twin brother. Adrienne is shocked, and Steve wants to know what he wants with his family. Jack tells Steve he had no idea who Earl was. Earl frightens Adrienne, and Justin and Adrienne leave the party early. Jack tries to make things right with Jo. Kayla wants to know how Steve feels about the situation. Jo's night ends receiving a threatening phone call from Earl. Jo is upset and Steve and Adrienne are clearly freaked out. Jo introduces them, as Jack looks on, incredulous. Steve is furious with Jack for doing this and puts Earl on the spot. Adrienne flashes back to her final moments with her father, as Earl speaks to the family. Remembering the moment she shot her father, Adrienne loudly gasps in horror. Earl decides to leave and heads out, as Steve turns on Jack again. Jack desperately insists he had no idea who he was. Steve roughs his brother up and promises this isn't over. Jo now turns on Jack and berates him, as Adrienne cries. Adrienne is shaken and her and Justing leave the party early. Jack is finally confronted by his sister. He tries to apologize and then realizes he should leave. They arrive at their hotel as Steve does his best Rhett Butler impression. As they check in, a man in the lobby is watching them from behind his newspaper. Once in their room, Steve tells Kayla that he is going to find who tried to kill Marcus. Kayla asks him if he had something to do with Marcus and Gail only getting one room together, as there is no reservation under Gail’s name for a separate room. He tells Steve that he has to go meet his new contact. Steve mistakes the ice cream man for his ISA contact LOL! Then he meets his REAL ISA contact, and guess who it is?! Steve doesn't react too well and starts barking about Marcus again. Gail admits that she is from Cleaver, which is why she was put on the church bombing case. Steve begrudgingly agrees to work on the case with her. Gail tells Steve that she thinks that somehow the drug ring is involved with Saul's church organization. Steve tries to find a way to change his image to go undercover, and concludes he needs to have the surgery on his eye to do it. Steve and Kayla discuss him having the surgery, as he tells her he's doing all this for Marcus. Kayla returns from her trip and discovers that Steve is preparing for his ISA assignment. Steve tells Kayla that he's going undercover so that he can infiltrate Saul's organization. Kayla doubts that Steve can find a proper disguise, but Steve has a plan. Kayla is apprehensive about Steve having plastic surgery. Steve tries to get Marcus to do his surgery without telling him the real reason. Steve admits to Marcus the real reason for wanting the surgery, minus a few details. It looks like the boys are at an impasse for now. Steve has a musical montage of flashbacks.

6/13 Steve tells Kayla that he's ready to have the surgery ASAP. Kayla is clearly uncomfortable that he's in such a rush to lose the patch. Marcus calls Steve and tells him he's coming over. Kayla isn't too pleased that Saul apparently wants Steve to help keep Marcus away from his daughter. After he leaves, Steve assures Kayla that Saul will get what he has coming to him. Gail calls Steve and asks to meet in :45 minutes as they are ready for the next phase of their plan. Gail warns him that Kayla can’t be there as she can’t know about Gail’s cover. Kayla is upset that Steve has to hide this part of his life from her. He tells her if it wasn’t for Marcus that he would tell the ISA to kiss off. She agrees as he promises to tell her everything once this is all over with.

When Gail arrives, Steve is NOT happy about her requesting that Kayla leave. She has a guy, Martin, who has arrived with her and he demands to know who this guy is. Gail informs him that Martin will be impersonating Steve, wearing his boots, patch and jacket. His cover will be that he will be heading to Stockholm to help a friend as they have to explain why Steve isn’t in Salem. Note: Martin is quite handsome with his chiselled features and similar hair. Steve reluctantly gives him one of his patches. Martin returns and Steve agrees that the guy is passable. Gail wants Steve to go with her to the safe house right now. He objects to having to leave without saying goodbye to her, and not even being able to leave a note! Gail insists and encourages that Kayla will be just fine as she leaves Martin there looking somewhat like Steve. Steve warns Gail that the ISA is going to owe him for this and observes that when Kayla sees him again, that he will look totally different. Kayla returns home and comes up behind him and puts her arms around him and before he even turns around, she instinctively knows he isn’t her Steve. She looks at him in fear and demands to know what he has done with Steve!

6/19 Kayla demands to know who he is and where her husband is. Martin informs her that he works for the ISA and that Steve has gone to the safe house. He reports that Steve didn’t know until the last minute. He tells her that he is leaving for Stockholm in the next hour to give Steve cover for being away. Kayla turns away saddened that she didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. At the airport, Martin tells her that he is wired and allows her to use it so she can say goodbye to Steve. Steve can’t talk to her in return, but listens intently as she tells him how much she misses him. She tells him that he is part of her and now she feels so empty and alone. She asks him to remember Gideon and Emily and come home to her. Steve demands to be able to call Kayla and Gail warns him that if he does that he will be off of this case. He grudgingly agrees. Saul comes in and Kayla makes it a point to tell him that Faith was keeping her company as she is lonely with Steve traveling out of the country for awhile. When Marcus comes out, Saul immediately orders Faith to leave not wanting her to spend anytime with him. After they leave, Jo comes in and Kayla tells her that Steve had to go to Stockholm to help a friend. Jo is suspicious that he left without saying goodbye to her and that he would leave Kayla alone. Kayla is obviously not happy for having to lie to Jo.

6/21 Faith begins working at the Emergency Center. She asks Kayla if love is so wonderful why does it hurt so much? Roman comes in to the center and meets Saul who is there to pick up Faith. After they leave, Roman comments to Kayla that there is something off about that man. Kayla runs into a homeless man on the pier, unaware he is Steve in disguise. She hands him $5 to get something to eat. Roman directs him to the shelter down the street. Kayla attends the Bible Recital and during the sermon, Steve stumbles in with his new look as Daniel. He falls at the reverend’s feet and repents his evil past and says all the right things. Kayla recognizes him and watches his performance in concern, as he is embraced into the fold. Afterwards, she tells him how moved she was by his story and gives him a bible.

6/23 Faith asks the new strangers name. Steve introduces himself as “Daniel”. She has brought him some toiletries and some juice. Steve plays up to the reverend about how he is a “real” preacher and “Daniel” is hoping for a new start in this town. After Steve walks away, he listens in as Saul and his cohort scheme about setting up the “new project”. “Daniel” bears his testimony at the reverend’s invitation. Afterwards, Eugene comes in and observes how familiar Daniel looks and maybe he knew him in high school. Steve declares absolutely not!

6/26 Eugene continues to question “Daniel” about possibly knowing him. As Eugene turns to go, Saul asks him to take another look to be sure and questions whether he knows Daniel. Eugene reports yes and no and calls him Darryl. Steve corrects him that his name is “Daniel” and his accent, tone of voice, mannerisms are all so different. “Daniel” questions he has been drinking and plays it off. Eugene helps this along when he starts talking about his psychic vibes. Faith introduces Marcus to “Daniel”. Steve meets up with Gail down on the docks. He tells her that Marcus showed up at the revival tonight as Faith brought him to meet Daniel. He tells her that he kept his head averted and he doesn’t think Marcus recognised him. Later that night, Steve opens the Bible that Kayla gave him and it says “To Gideon, Love Emily” with a yellow rose tucked inside as the closing montage plays.

6/28 Faith asks Daniel/Steve about his bible and what the names mean and he claims ignorance. When Saul joins them, she tells him about the bible’s inscription. Saul wants to take it with him to check it out but Daniel/Steve stops him. They are moving to a secluded retreat and Faith suggests that they take Daniel with them. Steve later meets with Gail and she reports the cartel is moving to a remote location. She urges Steve that he has to do whatever he has to in order for Saul to trust him enough to take him. She gives him a transmitter to report in at least once a day. She tells him if they don’t hear from him in a 24 hour period they will have to send their people in to check on him. He asks to speak with Kayla before he goes to the retreat. She tells him it just isn’t possible. Later that night, a somber and devoted Daniel tells Saul that he is the first person to ever see any goodness in him and he feels like he owes him his life. He offers to do anything the reverend needs and says he is good with his hands, both in fixing things and he could take care of any threat to Saul and protect him. His eyes light up at having an extra free security guard.

6/30 Faith and "Daniel" talk about going to the retreat, and he notices the suitcases she is carrying. She tells him she's not going, but is running off with Marcus to help him find out about his past. "Daniel" tries to persuade Faith she can't run off to be with Marcus. He scores points with Saul by suggesting that he keep an eye on his daughter and keep her close. He then promises to make sure Faith gets on the bus. He gently ushers her away and tells her this is for the best (trying to keep her away from Marcus and the danger she would unknowingly put him in). Steve finds Shane's key ring from Kim once he is up at the camp.

7/3 Steve calls Gail on the secret communication device and tells her about finding Shane's key ring at the camp. She warns him that Marcus might be coming up there as he is worried about Faith. He tells her this is the last place that he should be coming to. Steve disconnects and hides the device in a rock. Kayla goes with Marcus up to the camp, so he can check on Faith. He is shut out of entering the camp. They hide in the woods, and Kayla sees Steve at the fence line. They share a secret kiss, and they stare into each other’s eyes as she tells him that he looks good. He is showing her that he is wearing his wedding ring as a necklace. Then Saul finds them and "Daniel" covers. Saul pulls Daniel aside and asks if “she” came up here alone and he says that she did. Daniel urges her to move along as Saul listens in and Marcus comes up as he is hiding in the bushes. Daniel distracts Saul while Marcus and Kayla make a getaway. Daniel strongly suggests that they go to 24 hour surveillance as they may not be the only intruders. Saul looks at him thoughtfully and observes he can use a man of his talents.

Later that night, Faith is crying to herself and begs god to send her a sign, to send her one of his angels and Daniel/Steve magically appears. Daniel tells her that if things get really bad for her, that he is a friend and will be there to help her. After she leaves him alone in the woods, he calls Gail. She warns him to be careful that this could be much more dangerous than they thought. Steve hears a rustling in the bushes and quickly puts away the device just as Saul approaches him, asking what he is doing?

7/4 Daniel reports he was checking out the area but no sign of any intruders when Saul questions him. Saul asks about a loose rock in the well, where Steve is hiding the device. Steve tries to distract him and drops Shane’s keys which Saul recognises do not belong to Daniel. Steve claims to have just found them and Saul declares he will take care of it and puts them in his pocket. Kayla goes to see Kim and she tells her about Shane's odd message and admits that she is afraid he is in trouble. Kayla then tries to figure out why Cal is staying with her, but Kim doesn't say anything about her problems. Steve learns that no one is to go anywhere near the reverend’s desk so of course that is what he immediately does. He finds a briefcase and tries to get through the security password on the laptop. Saul finds him and questions what he is doing in his computer. Daniel claims he was just looking for some of the new pamphlets and thought maybe they would be in that big case. He asks Saul about the computer and Saul explains it away as using technology for the lord’s work.

7/5 Daniel/Steve tries to break into Saul’s computer. He is successful and finds a map. As he is getting a copy of the map, Reverend walks in. Steve was writing down the map using the Bible as a cover. Saul helps Daniel mark a passage that is about Daniel, his namesake. Steve grabs the map as he hands the Bible to Saul and drops the map into the dry well he is standing next to. Saul hopes to see Daniel at the meeting later. Steve goes to his hidden device to contact Gail. Steve vows to Gail to get that map, it might be the evidence she needs. Steve goes back for the suitcase with Saul’s computer and see it is gone. He realizes he is in trouble now.

7/6 Steve/Daniel is having to start over, but is upset that he can’t remember the map he saw. Gail is leaving in a few hours and would not be available for several days. Kayla overhears Marcus making plans. He tells Kayla he is going to Cleveland, despite the danger. He asks Kayla to keep his secret, especially from Gail. Steve/Daniel is approached by Faith, asking who he was talking to? He states he was praying. Gail can overhear the whole conversation since Steve/Daniel dropped his device. Faith asks him if they can talk, and that he won’t tell anyone. Faith confesses that she can’t concentrate on her relationship with God, but all she can think about is Marcus. She believes she is in love with him and can’t go on without seeing him, despite her father’s wishes of outsiders.

Marcus asks Kayla to get ahold of Steve. He knows he is on a mission and he knows Kayla can reach him. He needs to know why he is in danger. Kayla gets a call from the retreat saying there is an emergency and she is needed there for medical assistance. Marcus offers to help, she declines hastily. Steve/Daniel asks Faith if she really is sure it is love. She asks him if he ever has been in love. He admits he has. He described what his feeling of love was when he first felt it. He tells her Faith about his love for Kayla. She states that is how she feels about Marcus. He warns her that it is a crush since she is so young. He urges her to go slow. Kayla goes up to the camp to see Steve. He sees her hiding in the trees and leaves quickly. Faith stays behind. Kayla and Steve kiss, but he warns her that it is very dangerous for her to see him. Kayla tells Steve that Shane called Kim with a message for “Eve” that he would be home in time for the surgery. Steve feels that means he is in trouble and was trying to send a message. Kayla tells Steve that Marcus wants to go back to Charleston tonight and Steve says that he could get himself killed if he does.

Steve will figure something out about Marcus, but he must get back since Faith is close to the transmitter. Kayla professes how much she loves and misses him. He assures her he does too, she gets him through each day and night. Kayla was about to leave after pushing to stay just a bit longer with Steve. As she goes, Steve notices Reverend Taylor is close and they retreat to the woods. Saul approaches Daniel/Steven as he is reading the Bible. Saul was looking for the nurse who came to help, he wanted to thank her. Daniel says he hasn’t seen a soul all day. Saul says he is going to sit with Daniel for a bit, while Kayla is hidden under the bench.

7/10 Daniel gives Saul a duplicate message and urges him to call back another reverend. Saul picks up on Daniel trying to get rid of him as we see Kayla hiding in the well. Saul comments that Daniel has he already given him that message and he has already returned the call. Saul is looking for the nurse who didn’t go out the main gate and he will have to send someone out to look for her. Daniel/Steve immediately volunteers. Then Saul asks him to go down to the main gate to meet the newcomers, right now. Daniel agrees he will join him as soon as he finishes his prayers which is making his faith so strong. As soon as he walks away, Steve pulls Kayla to safety. He warns her that this is too dangerous, she was almost caught and she can’t come up there again. He asks her to stop Marcus from going to Charleston due to the danger. She rushes to the airport but arrives too late to stop him. Steve comes upon a trailer in the woods and looks at it curiously.

7/11 Steve walks around the trailer in the woods, and is shocked to peer into the window and find Shane being held captive. He has been beaten and is coughing and chocking. After the goons leave, Steve rushes over and calls out to Shane who is passed out and doesn’t hear him. Just as he is about to break in, more goons arrive with food. Steve sneaks away to get back up to help rescue Shane but when he gets to his hiding spot, the transmitter is gone! Meanwhile, Saul gives Jericho Shane's key ring, and tells him that Daniel found the key. Jericho says someone was also up there snooping around, and Saul admits someone was snooping around his desk. Jericho suspects brother Daniel and says they will have to keep a closer eye on him.

Faith finds the transmitter in the bushes down by the pond. Daniel finds her holding it and he startles her. She jumps at his voice and drops the device which breaks. Daniel picks it up and is shoving it in his pocket when Saul finds them and asks them to stay away from the main gate. Daniel hides the transmitter as he is collecting wood, though Saul won’t leave him alone and determines that he will wait for him. Faith looks at Daniel in puzzlement.
