DVD #16A 7/13 Steve/Daniel is in the woods when Saul walks up on him and suspiciously asks what he is doing out there? Saul is waiting for an explanation of what Daniel is up to? Steve/Daniel says he wandered along when he was thinking about the sermon he gave the night before. Saul states he is sending him back to Salem. Daniel pushes back, but Saul is adamant. Faith interrupts saying she knows why Daniel wandered off. She covers for him by saying she asked Daniel to meet her in the woods. They were going to pick blackberries is her story. Saul believes the story and Daniel tells her they will talk later.

Marcus tells Kayla that he realizes Faith has a crush on him. He wanted to go up and see her. Kayla discourages that for Faith’s sake. Kayla confronts Gail about working for the ISA. Steve told Kayla she reports. She says she understands so much more and why Gail is pushing Marcus away. Gail says she loves Marcus but can’t be with him right now. Gail’s beeper goes off. Kayla knows Steve will be calling at any time.

When Steve is trying to contact Gail, but two men approach him asking what he’s doing. When he says he is out for a walk, they state that is prohibited. He says he will return to camp. Faith approaches him asking who he really is as she needs to know. He says he doesn’t remember his life before the camp and salvation. She doesn’t believe him. She mentions how upset he was when she broke the headphones. He asks if she will tell Saul, she says no and she doesn’t want him to be sent away. She needs a friend for herself and Saul. She asks if she can trust him, and asks if he will help her father if he needs it. He promises Faith she can count on him.

Kayla gets worried when Steve doesn’t make the call to Gail. Gail tells Kayla the next check-in time is at 5pm and she will contact her after he calls in. Kayla won’t leave. Gail gets a call from a guy saying they must meet “now” and she knows where he will be. Gail tells Kayla she thinks she’s in big trouble. Daniel goes to meet Faith, and overhears two of the thugs discussing that things are going down tonight. Marcus is worried about the tension between him and Gail. Kayla tells Marcus to not give up. He says he won’t. Steve goes back and finds the trailer is gone, as Saul finds him there. Saul decides "Daniel" should leave, until Faith intercepts and changes his mind.

7/14 Faith talks to Daniel about Saul wanting him to give the sermon. Kayla talks to Gail about Steve being in danger, and she plans to head up to the camp.

7/17 Daniel is searching for something, but ends up finding Kayla! Kayla shows Steve some suspicious boxes that have nothing to do with spiritual beliefs. Steve tells Kayla she needs to get off the van and report to Gail Carson. He needs to figure out what they are doing with the goods. The van starts slowing down. When the van stops and Daniel goes to investigate. He sees a cave with a slew of electronics. He is struck from behind. Kayla tries to help Steve/Daniel but he tells her to leave to go get help. She’s their only hope.

Steve/Daniel keeps begging Kayla to leave. The men are approaching. They know it’s Daniel and they threaten his life. The men start attacking Daniel and decide to bring him back in one piece. Daniel drops something and Kayla, who was in the bushes, finds it. Saul asks Ben to make sure that Faith rests, she’s not feeling well. She needs to stay in her tent. If she tries to leave, keep her there. Let him know if there is a problem though. The men drag Daniel to Jericho who tells him he’s in the Lion’s Den now. Kayla runs to get help.

7/19 Kayla gets to the Emergency Center, and passes out at Marcus' feet. Steve is brought to where Shane is being held. Marcus finds Steve's wedding ring clutched in Kayla's hand. When Kayla wakes up she tells Marcus she wants to go home, and not to the hospital as he wants, but he insists he wants answers too. Kayla tells Gail about the cave and all the computer equipment. Shane doesn't believe Steve when he wakes up and tells him who he is with the new look. Steve finally convinces Shane he is who he says, as Jericho comes in and says time is running out for them.

7/21 Marcus tries to get Kayla to tell him the truth, but she covers. Gail talks to Simon about Steve and Shane. Steve tells Shane about Kayla going for help, when one of Jericho's men come in to tell them they are being taken somewhere where nobody will find them again. Kayla goes to "visit" Faith. Steve and Shane create a diversion with a fire and get away. Steve and Shane's freedom is short lived.

7/24 Shane and Steve get away from the gunman, when Kayla comes out of Faith's tent, and asks what's going on, as Steve sneaks up and knocks him out, but Shane was already shot in the process. Kayla tells Faith she can't tell anyone what's going on, and tells her Daniel is Steve, and he's trying to help Marcus. Steve does his best to take care of Shane and hide them from Jericho's men.

7/26 While Faith dreams of her encounter with Kayla and she’s told that her father is one of “them”. Faith doesn’t believe Kayla. Kayla comes across Steve’s note saying, “We’re okay”. Jericho approaches Kayla wondering why she is there? He insists on escorting her to the main camp. Kayla is brought into the tent with Faith. She tells Saul it feels like she is a prisoner, which is surprising for a mission such as his. Saul says it’s for the women’s safety while they try to find some dangerous men in the area. Kayla and Faith discuss Saul. Faith wishes she could understand why Saul would get involved with Jericho. Kayla says give her time and things will get better. Her friends will be there for her. Faith wants Marcus to be there, but Kayla says that he can’t. Faith wants to be sure Marcus knows he wasn’t at fault.

Faith tells Kayla that she sent a message to Marcus to come to the camp. He’s going to walk into a trap. They need to stop him. Faith wants to know why is it a trap? Because the men want to get rid of Marcus since he saw the bombing of the church. Not her father, she can’t believe he’d want to kill someone. Saul says Faith is naïve. Jericho doesn’t agree. The driver delivers Faith’s message to Jericho, who then hands it to Saul. Saul verifies that the letter was to go to Marcus. It’s a love note Saul says. Jericho says deliver the note to Marcus. He won’t be a problem for long. Jericho tells his men to prepare a welcoming committee for Marcus. The women can’t stop the van, so they plan on leaving to get to Marcus, but a guard stops them. They have to get clearance from Saul, otherwise they have to stay in their tent.

7/27 Steve wakes up and Shane is still out and looks like he is in real bad shape. Shane has been shot but Steve warns him they need to move so they aren't caught. Shane comes around and tells Steve he needs to fill him in, in case he doesn't make it out alive. Shane thinks that Jericho has been blackmailing Saul as they go way back from their days in the south together. Shane tells him Gillepsie is the link. As soon as Shane showed Jericho his picture was when Shane was taken hostage. Steve realises that Jericho is the person who has been trying to kill Marcus and he has to stop him before he tries again. Steve believes it is because Marcus knows about the church bombing they were involved in Steve decides to stay with Shane until he is stronger, then they can go after Jericho together.

7/28 Kayla tells Faith to stay calm and to follow everything she says when Marcus shows up. Larry comes to take Kayla because her company is requested. Saul is anxious while Jericho watches out for Marcus. Saul wants to know the plan, he won’t condone murder. Jericho says he is in too deep to have a conscious now. Jericho is waiting for Kayla to get more information from her. He wants to know why she came to the retreat. For peace and to do some thinking she replies. But he doesn’t take her for a religious person. She said she came to see Faith, she wanted to see how she’s doing. Not being let out of her tent has made her a bit anxious though. Larry is told to bring Kayla back to her tent and that she gets everything she needs. She tells Saul that she can’t believe he would put Faith into this much danger.

Larry brings Kayla to her tent. When Faith tells her Marcus was there and is out looking for Steve, Kayla has to find him since he doesn’t know what he’s against. Faith asks if you can feel if the ones you love are hurt. Yes, then they are still out there, Faith says. She tries to go for a walk, but Larry stops her. Larry comes in with another guard and guns, looking for an intruder and his orders are shoot to kill. Kayla tells them they haven’t seen anyone so the guys can leave. Guns don’t belong at a religious retreat. The men leave but someone will be outside all night.

Gail is looking for Marcus in the compound, while Marcus figures out Jericho is in the trailer but Larry comes up behind Marcus and knocks him out with the butt of his gun. Marcus is bleeding by the ear and he’s laying on a rock.

7/31 Note: Due to a pre-emption 3 1/2 mins from the beginning of this episode is missed, and cuts into Kayla trying to help Shane after he is shot. Kayla and Faith look for a way out of the tent. Steve learns from Faith that Jericho has Kayla, as Shane tells him they need a plan to get him.

8/2 Jericho questions Kayla and tries to get her to talk. Steve and Shane talk about Marcus, as Faith listens. Faith wants to go to Marcus, but Steve stops her. Faith tries to warn Steve danger is lurking, as she runs towards him when shots ring out.

8/3 Shots ring out and Faith is shot in the arm, as Steve and Shane take off when Jericho and Saul arrive. Saul takes Faith to the hospital. Kayla grabs a gun, but is unable to use it and is lead away. Marcus remembers his childhood and the bombing in the church. When Faith goes to see Marcus she tells him to remember the hymn, and he then focuses on what he saw, Jericho and Saul blowing up the church.

8/4 Steve wants to go in the cave and save Kayla, but Shane stops him and tells him they need to have a plan, or Kayla will be killed. Jericho makes his plans to leave with Kayla as a hostage. Shane holds a gun on "Daniel" outside the cave door, as Jericho comes out. Marcus goes to the Bible Recital and tells everyone what Saul and Jericho did all those years ago, as Faith looks horrified. Shane shoots Daniel in front of Kayla and Jericho.

8/7 Shane tells Jericho that Daniel is dead, now he has to let Kayla go. Steve and Shane get Kayla free, as Shane holds a gun on Jericho.

8/9 Shane and Steve talk to Jericho about his operations and Marcus. Shane and Steve come up with a plan, and call Saul and offer Jericho in exchange for Marcus. He agrees, but Shane is suspicious, since he accepted so fast.

8/10 Shane tells Jericho he'll hunt him down, as Marcus arrives with Saul. As the exchange takes place, Jericho grabs Faith, and heads back to the camp. Shane gives Kayla his wedding ring, in case something happens to him.

8/11 As Faith tries to escape, Saul is shot by Jericho. Faith begs Marcus to save Saul, as Shane asks where Jericho went. Shane then heads to the cave, as Saul tells them to stop Shane before he's killed, since Jericho has a bomb in the cave. Steve and Kayla go after Shane, as Marcus stays behind to help Saul. Shane reaches Jericho, as he pulls a gun on Shane. Steve and Kayla look for a way into the cave. Shane and Jericho fight on a cliff top, as the ISA arrives, but the bomb goes off and Jericho pulls Shane over with him.

8/14 Steve and Kayla search for Shane after the explosion. Steve refuses to give up looking for Shane, despite the fact he's been injured.

DVD #16B 8/16 Steve comes back and Simmons tells him the ISA search for Shane is done, as Shane is dead. Steve refuses to give up, as Kayla looks at Shane's ring. Steve comes back and tells Kayla that Shane is gone. When Kim arrives with Cal, Kayla is forced to tell her that Shane is dead, but she doesn't believe it. Kayla gives Kim Shane's ring, but she refuses to accept that Shane is dead.

8/18 Jack stops by the mansion and tells Kayla that he wants to do a story on Steve. Kayla changes her mind and gives Jack a statement that she wrote. Vern and Kayla go over her statement and talk about how much Jack has changed. Jack goes to see Kayla. A mysterious woman is drawing a red heart around a picture of Steve. Jack wants to do a story on Steve, but a wary Kayla refuses to help. Kayla arrives later and agrees to help with the story on Steve. She refuses to give him an interview, and instead hands him her statement written out.

8/22 Steve hides some papers from Kayla and acts weird. Next, they attend the Reverend Taylor's funeral service. Eve crashes the service. After the funeral, they go home and Steve hides the papers. Kayla tries to talk to him but Steve doesn't feel like talking.

8/23 Kayla reads the article on Steve that Jack wrote about him being the town hero. She picks up an old duffel bag of his and goes to look through it. Steve comes in and gets upset about her going through his things, but tries to hide it. Kayla thinks Steve is upset about Shane. Jo tells Steve and Kayla about Jack being in the hospital (he was beaten up by the Vipers). Steve has a weird moment on the pier. Calliope visits Kayla and they talk about Kimberly. Steve comes to see Jack at the hospital and they argue. Jack wants to know why he is here? Steve insists it is out of concern and Jack balks. He asks him what he thought of the story he wrote on him? Steve says he doesn't think Jack wrote that. Jack asks if Steve thinks people can get over their past. Steve becomes visibly bothered and Jack picks up on it. Kayla receives a package, it is a bottle of wine. Steve comes home and Kayla shows him the wine named “Marina Reserva". Steve gets a weird look on his face and starts acting weird again.

8/25 Kayla catches Steve digging through the trash. He is desperately trying to figure out who sent the wine. More weirdness. Steve visits Nick and asks for a favor with the wine mystery. Steve doesn't have much luck finding out who sent the wine. Steve goes through his bag of secrets and pulls out a scarf and has a disturbing flashback.

8/28 Kayla begs Steve to talk to her, but Steve continues to act crazy and insists that nothing is wrong. Steve leaves and Kayla calls her big brother over. Kayla asks Roman to put a trace on the wine. Steve goes to the pier and has another flashback. Adrienne appears and they talk. Roman tells Kayla to push Steve for answers. Later, Steve brings Kayla flowers and apologizes. The phone rings.

8/30 Steve and Kayla visit Kimberly. While Kayla talks to Kim, Steve talks to Eve, and gets through to her when nobody else can. Kayla brings up a having a memorial for Shane.Kim isn't ready for that, but says she'll think about it. Cal tries to convince Kim a memorial service is a good idea. Steve has a flashback of Marina falling off the yacht, and how he dove in after her. Later, Kayla notices that Steve is acting tense. Steve goes to the Cheatin' Heart to clear his head. More weirdness and another disturbing flashback, although not as disturbing as the one he had the other day.

8/31 Steve and Kayla talk to Eve about Kim. Steve talks to Eve, and gets through to her when nobody else can. Kayla brings up a memorial for Shane, and Kim isn't ready for that, but says she'll think about it. Cal tries to convince Kim a memorial service is a good idea. Steve has a flashback of Marina falling off the yacht, and how he dove in after her.

9/1 Steve dreams first of Shane going off the cliff, then of Marina, when Kayla wakes him. Kayla tries to talk to Steve but he can’t talk to her about his issues. Everyone starts to arrive for Shane’s Memorial service. Steve's wearing sunglasses. Andrew, Roman, and Steve make speeches. Eve arrives last minute and wants to speak. Scott and Faith call it a day. Eve makes a speech and Kim comforts her afterwards. The service ends and everyone says goodbye to Kim. Kayla and Steve talk about Shane and Kim. Steve receives a letter to meet someone at the Salem Inn. Steve hides the letter from Kayla.

9/4 Steve can't go to the Labor Day picnic with Kayla because of his mysterious rendezvous at the Salem Inn. Kayla finds the letter, whoops. Steve goes to the hotel room, and Kayla follows him. She asks if he is having an affair. Steve tells Kayla that he's meeting with someone from his past, but he continues to be vague. Kayla storms out and has a car wreck.

9/5 Kayla and Marina have car accident. Steve finds Kayla and she is concerned about the other driver, who happens to be Marina. Kayla is rushed to the hospital and Dr. Mike takes care of her. Kayla meets Marina, but Marina tells her that her name is Donna. Steve's being rather impatient with Mike. Kayla tells Steve about her new friend, who seems to have mysteriously disappeared. Mike tells Kayla that she'll need to stay overnight. Marina steals Kayla's keys. Kayla is worried about Donna as she feels responsible for causing the accident.

9/7 At the hospital, Kayla continues to worry about Donna. Marina goes to Steve and Kayla's house. Kayla continues asking what is going on with Steve. He is evasive and claims that he is just upset over Kayla being injured and in the hospital. Roman stops by to visit and Kayla asks for a favor. Jo sees Steve and senses that something is wrong. Steve gets a delivery at the hospital. Kayla asks Roman to check up on Donna for her.

Steve goes to The Spectator to do some research on Marina. Flashback scene. Marina fondles the tape player. Jack catches Steve acting weird. Steve tells Jack to stay out of his business, but Jack's going to be nosy anyway and pulls up the article Steve was reading. Jo stops by to visit Jack and Jack asks some questions about Steve and the article he was reading. Roman tells Kayla that Donna is staying at the Salem Inn. Steve comes home to find that annoying song playing and flips out.

9/8 Steve goes to see Kayla, who's in the hospital after her car accident. She asks what's wrong, but all he says is it has to do with something that happened a long time ago while he was in the Merchant Marines, but continues to be vague about it. Roman goes to see “Donna” (Marina) and asks her to visit Kayla. Tom tells Kayla that she'll probably be out of the hospital tomorrow. Marina goes to visit Kayla at the hospital after Roman’s visit. Steve comes face to face with Marina (played by Hunter Tylo). Jo mentions the questions Jack asked her about him. Steve heads over to the newspaper irate, and tells Jack to stay out of his business. Marina ends her visit and conveniently leaves a special book behind. Later, Steve sees the book and knows something is up. Jack tries to find "Donna" at the Salem Inn, and realizes she is gone. Tom tells Kayla that she can leave the hospital today. Steve and Marina finally come face to face.

9/11 Steve thinks he is seeing a ghost, as he demands answers from Marina. Steve's still angry about being used all those years ago. Marina tells Steve that she needs his help. Marina tries to make a move on him but Steve pushes her away. Steve hides Marina when Kayla comes home and she realises he never told Kayla about her. Kayla sees two wine glasses sitting out and gets suspicious. Steve covers. Kayla tries to get intimate.

9/14 Marina's at the hospital doing her usual bit of stalking trying to find out when Kayla’s next doctor appointment is so she can arrange another run in. Kayla notices Donna's book still hasn't been returned. Steve tells her that he'll bring it to her. Kayla has a headache. Mike meets "Donna", and "Donna" finds out that Kayla has an appointment at the hospital today. Jack sees Marina for the first time. Kayla runs into "Donna" in the nurse’s lounge and they start to chat. Kayla wants Marina to stop by the house and meet Steve. Jack catches Steve ducking to avoid Marina. Looks like Jack is going to put two and two together. Steve is in a Mike harassing mood. Mike tells Steve to simmer down and asks if everything is alright. Steve is worried when Kayla faints. Kayla wonders why Steve is so jumpy. Marina tries to get in touch with Victor (naturally, he's involved in all of this). Jack finds proof that Marina is the woman he saw in the hospital, when he recognizes her picture.

9/15 Mike goes to see Steve and Kayla about her headaches. Mike tells Kayla that he's not sure what's causing the headaches, but that it could be stress-related. Steve wants Kayla to go on vacation with him, but Kayla says that it would just be running away.

At Marina's hotel room, Jack arrives and introduces himself as Steve's brother. He tells her he wants to get to know her. Jack plays along with the "Donna" persona. Later, Vic stops by and it's clear that he and Marina are in cahoots about something. Kayla wants to return the book to "Donna", but crazy Steve doesn't want her leaving the house. Marina tells Vic that she needs more time. Victor apparently wants to own the Toscano vineyards. Later on the pier, Jack finds Steve throwing a book in the water. Jack tells Steve what he knows, and that he wants to help. Steve refuses his offer. Jack thinks that he is happier with Jack on the outside. Steve tells Jack to stay out of it for his own sake. Jack tells Vern he is going to Italy and it's top secret and personal.

Marina stops by to visit Kayla, and Kayla is oh so excited about her meeting Steve. Jack tells Vern that he's going to Europe on personal business, and to keep it a secret. Vic has Marina followed and finds out that she went to the Johnson residence. Steve comes home to find Kayla talking to Marina. 9/18 Steve meets "Donna". Barf. Marina says that she's checked out of the Salem Inn, and Kayla invites her to stay in the house. Marina tells Steve that she is his wife, not Kayla. Then she shows him their marriage license. Marina tells Steve that she wants him to help find the key. Kayla makes everyone sandwiches. Kayla insists on napping and leaving the two of them alone. Steve tucks Kayla in. Marina plays her annoying music and Steve turns it off. Marina threatens to tell Kayla about the marriage if Steve doesn't help her. Marina insists that it's not over between them.

9/20 Vic and Marina meet. Steve asks Kayla where "Donna" is, and Kayla wonders why Steve doesn't like her. "Donna" walks in and tells them all about how she was disinherited by her father. Kayla decides to go to the Emergency Center where she gives Gail a pep talk. More Marina and Steve. Marina apparently wants the log book from the ship for a treasure hunt. Steve refuses to help. Marina continues to threaten to tell Kayla the truth.
