Brenda Returns #10 December 16, 2010 - Feb 17, 2011: 8 hour original edit

Dvd #10A At Jason's penthouse, a man knocked on the door. The man quickly determined who Dante was and then served him with papers (Dante and Brenda were being sued for the wrongful death of Anton Banovic, the man who had tried to abduct Brenda in an alleyway and Brenda had killed).

At the house in the woods, Brenda was delighted by the Christmas tree that Sonny had arranged. Brenda was eager to start decorating it, so Sonny handed her a small box. Brenda smiled when she found a crystal heart ornament inside it. She placed the special ornament on the tree, while an unknown person lurked outside the house, watching Sonny and Brenda. Later, Brenda was busy decorating the tree as Sonny watched her.

Brenda admitted that she hadn't had a big tree since she had been a young girl. Sonny revealed that he and the children had a tradition of trying to find a tree that was bigger than the one that they'd had the year before. He also told her about the handmade ornaments that his children had made for him every year. According to Sonny, he had enough ornaments to decorate three huge trees. Brenda smiled. She realized how easy it was to forget how much time had passed since she and Sonny had been together. Sonny suggested that they savor the moment.

Outside, the stranger continued to watch Brenda and Sonny. As Brenda finished up the tree, she asked Sonny what he thought about the placement of the last ornament. Sonny assured her that it was fine. Brenda laughed because she was struck by the reversal of their roles. She recalled that in the past, Sonny had been extremely meticulous while she had been the laid-back one. Sonny chuckled as he remembered that her clothes had always been scattered around his place. Brenda claimed that it was because there hadn't been enough closet space. Moments later, Jason walked in. Jason explained that Jerry was still alive, so Brenda had to return to the penthouse. Sonny objected; he had plenty of guards around the house to keep Brenda safe. Jason didn't think that the guards would be able to stop Jerry. Sonny reluctantly agreed. Brenda was disappointed, but Sonny promised her that he would try to make certain that they spent Christmas morning together. Later, Brenda and Jason arrived at the penthouse. Brenda was frustrated because she was tired of having to hide from the Balkan. Jason revealed that she had another problem: the lawsuit. Brenda panicked at the prospect of having to testify because she feared that she might say something that could hurt Dante.

Carly stormed into Jason's penthouse. Carly told Jason and Brenda about Jerry's visit, how she had found him with Josslyn, and that Jerry had made it clear that Carly and Brenda were expendable. Meanwhile, Sonny stopped by Jax and Carly's place to persuade Jax to tell him where Jerry was.

On Pier 52, Siobhan waited for her contact to arrive. Jerry stepped out of the shadows. He told her that it was a pleasure to finally meet her in person. Siobhan warned Jerry that it had been foolish for him to arrange a meeting. Jerry acknowledged that it had raised the stakes, but it had also put pressure on Siobhan to keep up appearances. Siobhan demanded to know what Jerry wanted. Jerry informed her that Lucky had become a nuisance, Jerry ordered Siobhan to kill Lucky.

12/17 Sonny went to Jax's home to make him a proposal. Sonny would deal with Jerry so that Jax could avoid having to make a choice between Brenda's safety and Jerry's life. Jax responded that Jerry was his brother, therefore his responsibility. Sonny warned that, if anything happened to Brenda, it would be on Jax's head.

A hysterical Carly stormed into Jason's penthouse and demanded to know what Brenda had done to Jerry. Carly explained to Jason that she had walked into her home to find Jerry holding Josslyn and that he'd pulled a gun on Carly. He'd said he was there because of Brenda. Brenda said that she'd done nothing intentionally to anger Jerry. That wasn't good enough for Carly, who insisted that Brenda tell her the truth. Brenda admitted that she'd accidentally killed the Balkan's son and that Dante had covered it up. Carly berated Jason for not having told her, but he explained that the more people who knew, the more danger everyone would be in. "You promised to protect her," Carly said, referring to Brenda. "I never did." With that, she left. Brenda told Jason that she was worried for his safety. He changed the subject, and they soon began a heated argument over the color pink. As Brenda removed the regrettably pink pillows, Jax arrived and asked to speak to Brenda alone. Jason agreed, as long as Jax promised they would not leave the building. Jax said yes, and Jason left. Jax vowed, cryptically, to stop Jerry. Brenda worried that Jax would be destroyed if he took his own brother's life.

Dante visited Sonny at Sonny's office to let him know that Lucky wanted more information on Brenda's past. That was a bad idea, Sonny said. Luke showed up and questioned whether Sonny should be having a conversation about the Balkan with Dante, the cop. Sonny assured Luke that it was okay to speak freely. Dante let Luke know that Jerry Jacks might actually be the Balkan. Jason caught up with Carly and made it clear that she could, under no circumstances, let anyone know that Brenda and Dante had been involved in the cover-up of Alexander's death. Sonny walked in and asked why Jason wasn't guarding Brenda. Jason let Sonny know that she was with Jax, which gave no comfort to Sonny.

At the waterfront, Jerry met Siobhan, disappointed that she hadn't gotten Lucky there. Jerry threatened to dispose of her until his phone rang. On the other end was Theo, whose British accent had been replaced by a New York one. He made it clear that he knew Jerry was meeting with Siobhan and threatening her. Jerry angrily responded that the man had it easy as the Balkan, hidden away where no one was gunning for him. Siobhan was shocked to discover that Jerry was not the Balkan after all. Jerry let her know that he'd never seen the man's face. "Maybe I should remedy that," the Balkan said. "Maybe it's time for you to better understand who I am and what I want."

12/20 Jerry pulled a gun on Siobhan and told the Balkan that he wanted an extra ten million dollars, or he would switch sides and tell Jason everything Jason needed to know in order to catch the Balkan. Theo was sarcastic when he asked if the extra payment would guarantee Jerry's loyalty for another week. When Jerry said the money was for kidnapping Brenda, Theo concluded that Jerry would demand more money from him in exchange for Brenda, then give Brenda back to Jason along with the Balkan's secrets. Theo told Jerry that he was unreliable and that his employment was terminated, effective immediately. A shot rang out, and Jerry clutched his stomach and a bleeding bullet wound. He muttered, "Bloody hell," as he toppled off the pier into the water.

Lucky rushed to the docks and met up with Siobhan, who told him that she had overheard raised voices. She said that she saw two men arguing and that one of the men had shot the other. She described Jerry, and then said she thought that Lucky had shown her a picture of the man who had been shot and fallen in the water. When Lucky pulled out a picture of Jerry, Siobhan said that she was sure he was the one who had been shot. Lucky called the Harbor Patrol, but they had little hope of recovering the body because of the swift current in the area.

Jason, Sonny, and Carly argued about Dante and Brenda in Sonny's restaurant office. Carly was livid after learning from Brenda that she had shot the Balkan's son, and Dante had covered it up. She wanted to see Dante in Pentonville and Brenda in shackles. She demanded that Dante pay for causing Michael to go to prison. Jason urged Carly to focus on what mattered, which was to deal with the immediate threat caused by Jerry. After a long rant against Dante, Carly finally agreed to keep silent about what she knew but told Sonny that he owed her big time. She told Sonny to never refer to that "son of a bitch," Dante, as Michael or Morgan's brother again and then stomped out of the office, followed by Jason.

Alexis also stopped by Sonny's office to tell him about the wrongful death lawsuit that had been filed against Brenda and Dante. She said that the lawsuit had merit and that it would be handled by their firm's New York associate, Theo Hoffman. Alexis told Sonny to prepare Brenda. Sonny said that he would pay all the costs of civil damages. Alexis said that it was not about money. She said that Brenda would be torn apart on the stand. Alexis urged Sonny to break up with Brenda before he hurt her again. Sonny said that he loved Brenda. Alexis said that sometimes love was not enough. Sonny said that it would be a mistake to give up Brenda. He said that both he and Brenda were happier than they had ever been, and it would be a mistake to walk away from her.

Jax went to Jason's penthouse to see Brenda. He told her that he would kill Jerry rather than let Jerry harm Brenda. Brenda and Jax acknowledged that they loved each other. Brenda said that because she loved him, she did not what him to kill his own brother. Brenda urged Jax to tell what he knew to Jason or Sonny so that they could take care of Jerry. She told Jax not to put his life at risk for her. Jax said that it was ironic that as many times as he had blasted Sonny for risking Brenda's life, she was at risk because of Jax. Brenda told Jax to go home and protect his family and let Jason handle Jerry.

Dante met Brenda at the penthouse. She told him that she was happier than she had ever been, since she and Sonny were back together. Dante said that he was glad for her and wondered if she would tell the whole truth. Brenda said that she did not want to talk about the baby ever, and Dante agreed to keep her secret. Dante was gone when Jason arrived home. He told Brenda that there was no sign of Jerry and that there was no word about the lawsuit. Brenda was adamant that she could not go on the stand. Spinelli arrived home just as Brenda got flustered and said that she needed to go for a walk. Spinelli agreed to take her, but Jason said that Spinelli could not protect her and Jason would go. Jason and Brenda were talking about the lawsuit when they turned a corner. Following closely behind was Theo, who stopped them and showed Brenda a glove that he thought was hers. Brenda checked her pocket and found that the glove was hers. She thanked Theo and moved on with Jason. Theo stood silently watching them with an appraising look.

12/21 At Jason's penthouse, Jason was reviewing some phone records to get a lead on Jerry when Brenda entered the living room. Brenda suggested that Jason change clothes for Luke and Tracy's wedding, but Jason informed her that he wasn't going. Brenda explained that she intended to go, so Jason had to take her. Jason thought that it was a bad idea to attend the wedding because he wasn't certain that Jerry was dead. Brenda refused to skip out on the wedding; she argued that there would be plenty of guards to protect her and that Sonny would be there. Jason argued that he had not been invited, but Brenda didn't think that should stop him. She reminded him that Tracy was his aunt and that Edward had lost Lila, Alan, and AJ, so Jason should be at the wedding for Edward's sake. Jason refused to relent.

Sonny was adjusting his tie when Dante entered Sonny's office. Dante wanted to let Sonny know that someone fitting Jerry's description had been shot on the piers and then had fallen into the water. According to Dante, a trustworthy witness had seen the shooting, and the blood at the scene had confirmed that the victim had been Jerry. Sonny realized that Jerry's death meant that Brenda was out of danger. Dante thought it was a bit too soon to jump to conclusions, but he conceded that Brenda was safer than she had been the day before. Sonny was curious if Dante intended to go to Luke and Tracy's wedding. Dante revealed that Lulu was one of the bridesmaids, so he planned to be there. Moments later, Michael entered the office. Dante grew suspicious when Michael asked to have a word with Sonny. Sonny assured Dante that it wasn't a conspiracy. Sonny and Michael wanted to discuss the Christmas brunch that Sonny had with his children every year.

Sonny invited Dante to join them, but Dante had promised his mother that he would spend Christmas in Bensonhurst with the Falonceris. "Maybe next year," Sonny suggested. After Dante left, Michael offered to talk to Carly about Morgan going to the Christmas brunch. Sonny assured Michael that he could take care of it. Sonny admitted that he wanted to invite Brenda to join them. Michael was surprised; he realized that things must be serious if his father wanted to include her in such an important family function. Michael was curious what would happen when Brenda returned to Italy. Sonny was vague about Brenda's living arrangements, but he admitted that his life with Brenda was no longer a thing of the past.

Sonny and Brenda arrived a short time later. Lucky thought that Luke would be thrilled to see Sonny at the wedding. Brenda was stunned when she spotted Brook Lynn across the room. Brenda slowly approached her goddaughter; she couldn't believe how much Brook Lynn had grown. Brook Lynn immediately recognized Brenda, so the two shared a happy reunion. Sonny offered to fetch the ladies a drink. He noticed Carly glaring at Brenda, so he decided to have a private word with her. Sonny didn't want Carly to cause trouble, but Carly insisted that Brenda caused her own trouble.

Later, the guests took their seats as Lucky and Ethan made their way to the front of the room. As tensions mounted, Luke suddenly entered the foyer and then casually strolled to the altar to join his sons and the minister. As the music started, Tracy stood at the top of the staircase. Tracy seemed stunned to see her groom. She smiled and then slowly made her way to Luke's side. Luke demanded Tracy's full attention. He wanted to be able to call her "wife" and know that it wasn't just a nickname. Tracy took a moment to compose herself and then, her voice brimming with emotion, agreed that Luke was her unexpected surprise. Tracy confessed that Luke had made her want to live again and that he gave her a reason to get up in the morning. Tracy looked forward to their next adventure and promised to love him until the day that she died. Luke smiled with joy.

12/22 At the Quartermaine mansion, the minister asked if anyone objected to Luke and Tracy's marriage. Alice started to stand up, but Edward threatened to fire her if she didn't sit down. Alice grudgingly complied. As the ceremony continued, Tracy appeared to grow increasingly resistant to marrying Luke, so she stopped the wedding before the minister could finish the ceremony. Tracy demanded to see the prenuptial agreement. Luke refused to hand it over, so Tracy started to walk away. Lulu and Brook Lynn sprang into action. Lulu reminded Tracy that Luke was in love with Tracy. Meanwhile, Brook Lynn insisted that Tracy was being ridiculous. Brook Lynn decided to speak for everyone by ordering Tracy to get married, so that they could all have a "damn drink already." The guests applauded loudly.

Brook Lynn suggested that Tracy get out of her own way because it was clear to everyone that Tracy loved Luke. Brook Lynn urged Tracy to take a chance by returning to the altar to complete the wedding ceremony. Tracy hesitated for a moment and then joined Luke at the altar. The minister completed the ceremony and then pronounced Luke and Tracy to be "husband and wife." Luke and Tracy kissed as everyone clapped. After Luke and Tracy kissed, Lucky offered his own toast. Lucky confessed that he was happy that Luke and Tracy had managed to find a way to make things work. Lucky conceded that Luke and Tracy were mismatched in many ways, but they had fought hard to be together.

Lulu spoke to Tracy when it was her turn to make a toast. Lulu recalled that she had referred to Tracy as "the step-monster" when Luke had first married Tracy. However, Lulu had eventually gotten to know Tracy, so Lulu realized what a deep, special, and remarkable person Tracy was. Lulu felt lucky to have Tracy in her life and honored to be able to call Tracy, "stepmother." As everyone applauded, Tracy hugged Lulu. Luke decided to share his thoughts about what it meant for him to be able to call Tracy his wife. Luke credited Tracy for making his life interesting; he insisted that he deeply loved Tracy and always would. Tracy kissed her husband as the guests clapped with approval. Afterwards, Tracy admitted that she was at a loss for words. Tracy confessed that she had never been happier and then thanked everyone for witnessing the rare moment.

Sonny spotted Brenda slipping out of the room, so he decided to follow her. Brenda went to the den, where she bumped into Carly. Carly continued to exchange text messages with Spinelli, but she put her phone away to focus on Brenda. Brenda acknowledged that she and Carly hated each other, but Brenda hoped to reach an understanding to avoid further problems. Brenda told Carly about Sonny's Christmas brunch for the children, so she hoped that Carly would let Morgan attend. Carly thought that it was a conversation that Sonny should have with her, not Brenda. Carly didn't think that Brenda had any business getting involved in the children's lives. Brenda was curious if Carly were still in love with Sonny. Carly denied that she had feelings for Sonny. Brenda wondered why Carly continued to try to make things worse if Carly were over Sonny. Carly snidely suggested that they couldn't all be like Brenda. Sonny entered seconds later. He immediately picked up on the tension in the room. After Carly marched out, Brenda admitted that she had asked Carly to let Morgan attend the Christmas brunch. Sonny assured Brenda that he could handle Carly. Brenda was curious why Sonny had ever gotten involved with Carly.

Sonny decided to take Brenda for a walk instead of answering the question. A short time later, Brenda was delighted that Sonny had led her to Lila's rose garden. She recalled that she had spent hours, daydreaming in the garden about how things might have been if she and Sonny had stayed together. Sonny confessed that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Brenda. He acknowledged that he had made a lot of mistakes, but he promised that he loved Brenda and always would, until the day that he died. Brenda was surprised when Sonny asked her to marry him.

Spinelli reluctantly handed over some documents, which Carly quickly scanned. Carly smiled triumphantly when she discovered that Dante and Brenda had a child together and that Dante had given Brenda full custody of the baby. Carly confessed that the information was better than she had hoped. She took particular delight in knowing that Brenda was the mother of Sonny's grandchild.

12/27 In the garden, Sonny proposed to Brenda. She said that she was afraid that something would go wrong if she agreed to marry him. Sonny said that it was their chance to have it all. Brenda said that all she wanted was Sonny. Sonny said that he knew marriage was a big gamble for them, but in the end, he thought that they would be winners because they would get to have each other forever. He said that they could not let fear keep them apart. Sonny pleaded with Brenda to trust him enough to marry him. She said that she had tried to move on after Sonny, but could never manage it. Sonny said it was the same for him, despite being married several times and having four children. He said that he had never been able to let go of Brenda. He said that he had wanted to reach out to her many times but was afraid to hurt her once more. He said that he would never let her down again.

Sonny said that he would accept "no" for an answer, but his life would be less than it could have been. Sonny told Brenda that all she had to do was believe in him. Brenda said that she was afraid that she would disappoint him and was afraid that if she counted on Sonny, he would leave her. Sonny said to trust him and that he would not leave her again. Brenda kissed him and accepted his proposal.

Carly met with Spinelli, who had a copy of an official document that indicated that Dante had given full custody of a child to Brenda. Carly gloated and said that it showed that Dante and Brenda were the worst kind of liars. She cautioned Spinelli not to tell Jason or anyone else what they had found out. She said she could hardly wait to tell Sonny that Brenda was the mother of his grandchild. Jax found Spinelli and Carly together. When he wanted to know what they were doing, Spinelli said that he had convinced Carly that it would be unwise for him to hack into court files and alter the terms of Michael's parole to get him an early release. Jax was satisfied with the explanation and took Carly back to the party. When Jason spied Spinelli, Spinelli said he was there to bury the hatchet with Dante as a favor to Lulu.

Michael and Carly hugged while Ethan and Maya assembled the single ladies for the bouquet toss. Tracy heaved it over her shoulder just as Sonny and Brenda walked in. The bouquet landed unerringly in Brenda's arms. Sonny happily announced that he and Brenda were engaged. Tracy, in a snide aside to Luke, thought it very poor of Sonny to announce the betrothal at Luke and Tracy's reception. Luke agreed, but said it was better not to make a scene. Michael enthusiastically congratulated Sonny and Brenda. They received other congratulations, but Dante appeared stunned, as did Carly. Jax said that Brenda was making the biggest mistake of her life. Mac asked Alexis if she was jealous. She said definitely not. Jason also congratulated them, but said Brenda had to stay at the penthouse because her life was still in danger. She agreed and said it would be fun to be old-fashioned and sleep apart until the wedding.

At the penthouse, Brenda asked for Jason's promise that he would attend the wedding. He told her that he would, but she had to remember that her life was still in danger. He told her that he hoped to find the Balkan before the wedding. When Jason left, she went upstairs.

12/28 At Jason's penthouse, Theo introduced himself to Brenda. Brenda recalled meeting Theo on the sidewalk. Theo confirmed that he had been the one to return the dropped glove to her before he steered the conversation to the lawsuit. Theo warned her that his policy was to tell his clients the unvarnished truth to prepare them for the worst. According to Theo, Brenda's prospects looked bleak.

Brenda found Theo's honesty refreshing as he laid things out for her. Theo assured Brenda that no one doubted that Anton Banovic had intended to harm her, but they believed that Brenda had been given special treatment because of her celebrity status. Theo explained that he would argue that there wouldn't have been a lawsuit if Brenda hadn't been famous. Theo was certain that the Banovic family wanted to exploit the situation for financial gain, even though Brenda had acted in self-defense. Brenda clarified that she had shot Anton to protect a police officer.

Theo urged Brenda to tell him everything about the shooting. Brenda agreed, but several minutes later, Jason arrived home. Brenda introduced Theo to Jason, but he had already known about Theo. Brenda wanted some fresh air, so she decided to take a walk. After Brenda left, Jason asked what Theo's take on the lawsuit was. Theo explained that Brenda's fame and connection to Sonny were problematic. Theo warned Jason that a jury would watch Brenda closely. Jason was certain that Brenda would fall apart on the witness stand, so he ordered Theo to settle the case before it went to trial. Theo didn't think that it was possible because the Banovic family wanted to make Brenda suffer. Jason confided that killing a man, even in self-defense, had nearly destroyed Brenda.

Later, Dante was on his way home from the grocery store when he bumped into Brenda and Max on the sidewalk. Max stepped away, so that Brenda could speak privately to Dante. Dante congratulated Brenda on her engagement to Sonny. Brenda admitted that she had been thinking about telling Sonny about their relationship and the baby. Dante agreed to support whatever she decided, but he cautioned her to think things through carefully. He suggested that sometimes the truth wasn't for the best. Dante used Michael's situation as an example. Dante explained that he had thought that he had done the right thing by revealing that Michael had killed Claudia.

Dante had been certain that Michael would only receive a suspended sentence, but instead Michael had been sent to prison. Brenda imagined that it had been difficult for Dante. Dante realized that it was a judgment call, but he wondered if telling Sonny the truth about the baby would make things better for Brenda and Sonny. "Probably not," Brenda admitted. Dante was curious how she thought that Sonny would react to the news. Brenda confessed that Sonny would likely feel terrible. Dante wondered why she would hurt Sonny when he was clearly happy. Brenda realized that Dante had a point, so she thanked him for being good to her and then left.

Brenda returned to the penthouse in a good mood. She shared the news about her engagement with Jason, but he had already heard about it. Brenda revealed that she had seen Dante and that he had congratulated her. It had made Brenda realize how silly she had been to believe everyone who had made her feel as if she and Sonny were doomed. Brenda insisted that the opposite was true. Brenda thanked Jason for forcing her to return to Port Charles because it had been the best thing to happen to her. Jason tensed when Brenda ordered him to stand still. Seconds later, Brenda hugged Jason. Jason hesitated a moment and then wrapped his arms around Brenda to return the hug.

On the sidewalk, Theo ordered one of his goons to keep Brenda under 24-hour surveillance. Dimitri suggested that Theo simply kill Brenda, since Theo had gained full access to her. Theo explained that he needed information from Brenda, so he intended to break her down to get what he needed and then kill her.

At Greystone Manor, Carly insisted that Brenda was a disaster. She was curious what Sonny knew about the eight years that Brenda had lived abroad. Sonny didn't care; he refused to let Carly stop him from marrying Brenda. Carly was certain that Sonny's marriage to Brenda would fall apart. Sonny suspected that Carly wasn't upset about Sonny's relationship with Brenda, but rather Sonny's relationship with Carly. Carly was curious how Sonny had reached such a ridiculous conclusion. Sonny explained that Carly always seemed to object to the woman in his life. Carly smiled snidely as she informed Sonny that it was because he had terrible taste in women. She then argued that Sonny also seemed to object to the men in her life. Sonny threw her words back at her.

Sonny realized that he couldn't force Carly to wish him well, but he warned her that she would be sorry if she interfered in his marriage. Carly vowed that Sonny would be the one who would be sorry and then stormed out. A short time later, Michael stopped by to congratulate his father on the engagement and to suggest that Sonny ask Dante to be his best man. Michael thought that it would give Sonny and Dante a chance to grow closer. Sonny agreed. Sonny wondered how Kristina and Molly would take the news. Michael was certain that they would be excited to have Brenda join the family. However, Michael was curious if Sonny intended to invite Carly to the wedding. Sonny explained that Carly would try to stop the wedding because she was unable to let go of certain things.

Claire arrived at Greystone Manor to talk to Sonny about her career options. Sonny wished that Claire hadn't heard about his engagement from Diane, but Claire insisted that it had been for the best. She confessed that she wanted to move forward with her life, but she didn't want to remain in Port Charles if she would be a constant reminder of Sonny's regrets. Sonny assured Claire that he only regretted the timing, not meeting her. Claire realized how Sonny had felt about Brenda, so she wanted them to be happy. Sonny thought that Claire deserved more than he had given her. Claire agreed, but she had a decision to make. Sonny admitted that he selfishly wanted her to join Diane's law firm because he'd love to have her legal skills on his side. Claire smiled and then promised to let him know once she made a decision.

12/29 Theo went to the police station to get everything that Lucky had on the Balkan. Theo claimed that he needed it in order to properly defend Brenda against the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Anton Banovic's family. Lucky explained that Dante was overseeing the case. Theo suggested that there might be a presumption of bias, since Dante had been involved in the shooting. Lucky argued that Brenda had acted in defense of Dante and that the Balkan had sent several assassins to kill Brenda. Lucky suggested that Theo speak to Agent Bates and then handed Theo a business card with the Interpol agent's phone number. Theo decided to question Lucky about Ronan O'Reilly. Lucky pretended that he had no idea who Ronan was. Theo explained that he had done extensive research on the Balkan and his associates. According to Theo, Ronan was a known contract killer, so Theo hoped to be able to prove that Ronan had been sent after Brenda. Theo claimed that it would give his argument that Anton had intended to kill Brenda more weight. Lucky accepted the explanation, so he agreed to forward a copy of the case file to Theo. Theo thanked Lucky, asked him to have Dante call, and then left.

Lucky stopped by to let Jason know that Theo had been at the police station. Lucky had realized that Brenda and Dante were in a lot of trouble. Jason was concerned that Brenda might confess to killing Aleksander if she were forced to testify because Anton's shooting had been eerily similar to what had happened to Aleksander. However, Jason sensed that something seemed off about the lawsuit; he couldn't understand how Anton's family hadn't known what Anton had been planning to do to Brenda. Lucky suggested that perhaps the Banovic family were in denial.

Jason argued that the timing of the lawsuit and Jerry's sudden appearance in town were suspicious. Lucky thought perhaps Jason was looking for a connection where there wasn't one. Jason admitted that the connection might not be between Jerry and the lawsuit, but rather Jerry and Siobhan. Lucky was curious how Jason had reached that conclusion. Jason reminded Lucky that Siobhan had been the one to provide them with Jerry's name. Lucky and Jason discussed what Siobhan had witnessed on the pier when Jerry had been shot. Lucky assured Jason that Siobhan was a reliable witness, but Jason questioned the convenience of Siobhan stumbling into Jerry just in time to see him shot by a sniper and then plunge into the water. Lucky reluctantly agreed that he couldn't ignore the coincidence. Jason revealed that it was odd that Jerry's body hadn't been recovered. Lucky thought that Jason, of all people, should be able to appreciate that bodies weren't always recovered from the water off of the piers. Jason argued that Jerry's body hadn't been found after the van had crashed, so Jason suspected that Jerry was alive and buying himself some time to go after Brenda from another direction.

1/3 Carly and Jason were conversing at the Metro Court when she got a call from Morgan, who was on a chartered bus bound for a ski trip. He told her he was having fun, and then suddenly exclaimed that something was wrong. Carly heard the others passengers screaming, and the sounds of a crash before she lost her connection.

At the bus crash site, bodies were scattered over the snowy landscape. Most had been thrown from the bus and plummeted into a deep ravine. Steve was the first to awake He had minor injuries, but nothing life-threatening. He found Cameraon, who was also uninjured. Maxie was uninjured, but Matt had a broken arm, which Steve treated with a makeshift sling. Molly, Kristina, and Ali were okay, as were Taylor and Michael and the rest of the students but Morgan and Olivia were missing. Because they had been thrown into a ravine, no one could get cell service. They were afraid that they would not be found because the driver had taken an alternate route. Michael, Molly, and Taylor searched for other survivors and found the driver, who was badly hurt. He passed away before Steve could treat him. Molly was distraught because she had not administered first aid, but Steve said there was nothing she could have done to help him.

Michael and Taylor went looking for Morgan, but found Olivia, who was seriously injured. Neither Michael nor Taylor noticed Morgan's cap, which was lying behind a bush a few feet away from Olivia. Michael stayed with Olivia while Taylor went to find Steve. Olivia told Michael not to worry about her, but to keep looking for Morgan. Michael said he would wait for Steve and then search for Morgan. Olivia told him that Sonny would be proud of him. She said that he was a natural caregiver because he was calm and focused in a crisis. Michael demurred and said he was only calm on the outside.

Alexis and Sonny talked about Molly, Kristina, and the ski trip while they waited in Sonny's office for Theo to arrive. Sonny got tired of waiting and decided to leave. When they entered the restaurant, Theo was sitting at a table, drinking a glass of wine. Sonny told Theo that he would do whatever it took to get Brenda and Dante exonerated. When Theo painted Aleksander's death in the worst light possible, Sonny responded that Dante and Brenda should not have to pay for the death of a bottom-feeder. Theo pointed out that some might say the same thing about Sonny. Sonny said that Brenda was the victim and had killed to save Dante's life. He said that he had Dante's word on that. Theo said that Dante's word was not good enough for a jury. Sonny wanted to know whose side Theo was on. Theo said that his job was to look at the case from all angles.

At GH, Sonny got off the elevator with Alexis, who was second-guessing her decision to let Molly and Kristina go on the trip. Dante arrived with Brenda and was shocked to find out that Olivia had been on the bus. Brenda hugged him and offered comfort.

1/4 Alexis and Sonny anxiously waited for news about their children. Sam approached the nurses' station, looking for Epiphany, but Epiphany wasn't available. Sam spotted Alexis, so she walked up to her mother to find out what was going on. Alexis and Sonny told Sam about the bus crash. Sam decided to wait at the hospital with her mother.

On the other side of the mountain, Brenda and Dante were desperately searching for any sign of the crash. Brenda was concerned because Dante was speeding, but he refused to slow down. Brenda decided to check in with Lucky, who quickly let her know that everyone was still looking for the crash site. After Brenda ended the call, she began to talk to Dante about Sonny. Dante was annoyed that Brenda always seemed to defend Sonny's actions. Brenda was equally frustrated because Dante was hard on his father. Dante refused to apologize as he explained that his mother had raised him. Brenda asked Dante to slow down, but he ignored her request. Brenda realized that Dante was worried about Olivia, but Dante denied it. He insisted that his mother was strong and smart, so he didn't have any reason to be concerned. Dante praised Olivia for being a wonderful mother who had made huge sacrifices for him. Brenda smiled as she assured Dante that Olivia had raised a good man.

Near the crash site, Michael found Morgan collapsed in the snow with a broken leg. Morgan was in considerable pain, but conscious. Michael realized that Morgan wouldn't be able to walk on his own, so Michael hoisted Morgan over his shoulder and then trekked to the makeshift camp where the other passengers were gathered. At the camp, Molly wondered why they hadn't heard or seen any helicopters; she feared that no one was looking for them. Frustrated, Molly decided to go in search of Morgan, but Michael suddenly appeared with Morgan. Molly was relieved that Morgan was alive. Her joy was short-lived when it became clear that Morgan was hurt. Michael settled his brother on the ground and then went to fetch Steve.

Steve was trying to keep a gravely injured Olivia awake by talking to her when Michael walked up. Steve went to check on Morgan, so he didn't see Olivia cough up blood a few minutes later. Steve quickly confirmed that Morgan had a broken leg. Steve decided to stabilize the leg, so Molly and Michael kept Morgan still while Steve worked. Molly was curious if Morgan had a compound fracture, but Kristina ordered her sister to be quiet because they didn't need to know the details. After Morgan was taken care of, Steve returned to Olivia's side. Michael invited Molly to hike to the road with him where they could put Molly's knowledge of Morse code to work by signaling SOS with a flashlight.

As they climbed up the side of the mountain, Michael found a cell phone. He tried to call 9-1-1, but didn't get a signal. However, Michael held onto the phone, in the hopes that it would work once they reached the road. Molly thought that it was a shame that Michael wasn't a vampire like the hero in the book series that she had been reading. According to Molly, the cold wouldn't have bothered Michael and he would have super strength, so that he could have easily carried everyone to the road. Michael apologized for not being a vampire. Molly assured Michael that it was okay; she explained that he would have had to die in order to become one, so she preferred that he remain human. Michael decided to keep Molly chatting by asking her more about her vampire books.

A short time later, Michael and Molly arrived at their destination. Molly used her flashlight to signal SOS, while Michael called 9-1-1. He was relieved when the call went through. The operator assured Michael that they would be able to locate the crash site by tracking the cell phone signal. Afterwards, the operator patched Michael through to Lucky. Michael explained that Morgan and Matt had suffered broken bones and that Olivia had been seriously injured, but the rest of the passengers were fine. Lucky was relieved to hear that Cam hadn't been hurt. Mac was equally thrilled to learn that Maxie had also escaped the accident unscathed. Michael was frustrated when the call was suddenly dropped. Moments later, a car pulled up. It was Dante and Brenda. Brenda stayed on the road with Molly while Michael took his brother to see Olivia. Brenda called Lucky to let him know that they had arrived at the crash site. Afterwards, Brenda assured Molly that help was on the way.

On the road, Jason and Carly received word that Michael had managed to make a call. Carly was overjoyed to learn that Michael was okay. Her happiness quickly turned to concern when she was told that Morgan had suffered a broken leg. Molly confided to Brenda that the crash had happened quickly; one minute she had been telling Michael about her books and then the next minute the bus had swerved off of the road. Molly regretted that she hadn't been reading her first aid book because she might have been able to help the injured. Moments later, Carly and Jason arrived. Carly quickly assured herself that Molly was okay, but she was desperate to get to Morgan. Molly told Carly where Morgan was, so Carly took off with Jason close behind her.

Carly and Jason reached Morgan and the other kids a short time later. Carly credited Morgan with saving everyone because they might not have known what had happened if he hadn't been on the phone with Carly at the time of the crash. As the sounds of sirens filled the air, Morgan told Carly about waking up alone with a broken leg after the accident. Morgan was grateful that Michael had found him and then carried him to safety. However, Morgan complained because he realized that he wouldn't be able to snowboard for the rest of the year. Carly assured Morgan that Jax would take him skiing as soon as Morgan's leg had healed. Carly confessed that she regretted that she hadn't been on the bus with Michael and Morgan, but Morgan insisted that Carly couldn't have prevented the crash. Nearby, Kristina shivered with cold as Taylor tried to keep her warm by wrapping his arms around her.

Brenda stayed with Kristina and Molly as they were taken to the hospital. Molly began to question Brenda about her wedding plans, so Brenda took the opportunity to ask the girls to be in the wedding. Kristina and Molly happily agreed.

1/5 In the waiting area, Abby wondered if Sonny knew Michael Corinthos. "I'm his father," Sonny told her. Abby was stunned. Sonny noticed Abby's fishnets and shoes; he revealed that he had once owned a strip club. Abby was surprised because Michael had never mentioned it. However, she confirmed that she was a dancer. Sonny was curious how long Abby had been stripping. "A year," Abby admitted before she explained that she did it to work her way through college. Sonny assured her that he didn't judge her. He respected Michael's privacy, but he was curious if Abby knew that Michael was on parole. Abby nodded.

Sonny explained that Michael had to be careful about where he went and with whom he associated. Abby understood Sonny's concerns, but she insisted that he didn't have to worry about Michael. Sonny revealed that Michael had plans to go to college, so Sonny didn't want Michael distracted from that. Abby admitted that she'd had a similar conversation with Carly when Carly had warned Abby to stay away from Michael. Abby appreciated that Sonny and Carly wanted the best for Michael, but she reminded him that they didn't have the right to decide whom Michael could see. Sonny assumed that Abby was a good person because Michael liked her, but he didn't want his son hanging out at strip joints, getting into trouble, and fighting. Abby assured Sonny that she and Michael were just friends and that they had never met at her workplace. She promised Sonny that Michael was safe with her.

Jason, Michael, Brenda, Dante, and Molly arrived. Alexis hugged Molly and wouldn't let go. Alexis learned that Kristina had been transported by ambulance to the hospital because she had been suffering from hypothermia. Jax wondered where Carly was. Jason explained that Carly had decided to ride with Morgan in the ambulance. Molly then began to brag about Michael's heroics and how he had carried Morgan to safety.

After Dante and Brenda walked away, Molly told Alexis and Sam about the accident and the bus driver's death. Alexis felt terrible that Molly had been forced to see that. Moments later, Kristina arrived. After Kristina was whisked to a room to recover, a nurse noticed Ali standing at the nurses' station, looking a bit dazed. The nurse decided that Ali should have the bump on her head checked.

In Kristina's hospital room, Alexis, Sam, and Molly hovered near Kristina. Sam offered to get some burgers, but Alexis decided that it was time to get Molly home. However, Alexis wanted Sam to spend the night with Kristina. Sam readily agreed, but Kristina argued that it wasn't necessary.

Later, Dr. Jackson confirmed that Morgan's leg was fractured in two places.Dr. Jackson assured Morgan that the breaks would heal, but Morgan would have to wear a cast for a few weeks. Jax entered the examination bay moments later. Sonny seemed pleased with Dr. Jackson's bedside manner, so he asked the doctor to stay on as Morgan's physician. Dr. Jackson was flattered, but he couldn't make any promises. After Jax, Morgan, and Dr. Jackson left to get Morgan's leg put in a cast, Carly thanked Sonny for being on hand. Brenda hovered outside of the examination bay until Carly had left. Sonny was happy to see Brenda. He admitted that he was grateful that she had been at the crash site to help the kids and that she had called him with updates. Brenda confessed that she loved seeing Sonny with his children.

Later, Brenda found Sonny watching Morgan from afar. Sonny explained that it was best for everyone that Sonny and Jax avoid each other. However, Sonny conceded that Jax was good to Morgan. Brenda was surprised by the compliment. Their smiles disappeared when Robin tracked down Sonny to let him know that Kristina needed him.

Ali kept rubbing her head as they talked about Taylor's parents taking him home. Ali revealed that her head had been throbbing since the accident, but it had become worse since arriving at the hospital. Kristina was horrified as Ali suddenly collapsed. After Ali was rushed to surgery, Sonny arrived. Kristina wept hysterically as she blamed herself for her friend's condition. According to Kristina, Ali would not have been hurt if Kristina hadn't insisted on Ali going on the trip. Brenda stood in the doorway as Sonny comforted his daughter. He assured Kristina that she wasn't to blame for Ali's situation. Tears filled Brenda's eyes as she watched Sonny wrap his arms around Kristina and then gently rock her. Sonny continued to hold his daughter until Kristina fell asleep.

The episode featured, "Hallelujah," performed by Jeff Buckley

1/6 Kristina smiled when her father entered her hospital room. Sonny handed a small white stuffed bear to Kristina and then asked her how she was doing. Kristina admitted that she blamed herself for Ali's death because she had pushed Ali to go on the trip. Sonny knew what it was like to lose a close friend. He told her about how deeply Stone's death had affected him. Sonny promised his daughter that time would help soften the blow of losing her friend. Sonny let Kristina know that Ali would continue to live inside of Kristina. Kristina took comfort from her father's words. Sonny acknowledged that Kristina had her mother's intelligence, but she tended to be like him emotionally. Kristina admitted that she had begged Ali to go on the trip because she had hoped that Michael would see that Ali was better than the woman he had been seeing. Kristina confided that Michael liked someone who was too old for him. She insisted that Ali had been perfect for Michael. Sonny assured Kristina that Michael was proud of his sister.

Michael paid Morgan a visit. Morgan tried to enlist Michael's help to get Carly to stop worrying about him. Morgan feared that Carly would have him X-rayed from head to toe before he could leave the hospital. Michael smiled as he advised his brother to humor their mother. Carly walked in moments later. She overheard Morgan's complaint, but she refused to apologize for wanting to make certain that Morgan hadn't suffered any other injuries besides the broken leg. Morgan thanked Michael for saving his life. Michael appreciated his brother's gratitude, but he clearly didn't think that he had done anything special. Carly advised Morgan to get some rest and then led Michael out of the room. In the hallway, Michael assured Carly that Morgan would be okay. Carly clarified that Michael and Morgan would be fine. Carly then changed the subject by revealing that she had seen Abby in the hospital the previous night. Michael explained that Abby had been concerned about him after she had heard about the crash. Carly confessed that she sensed that there was more to Michael and Abby's relationship than mere friendship. Michael immediately became defensive as he asked his mother when she had become so judgmental. Michael made it clear that Carly didn't get to decide whom he could associate with.

Theo told Dante that he worked for, "Mason, Petrovich, and Miller," so he needed to ask Dante some questions about Anton's shooting. Dante glanced at his mother and then insisted that it wasn't right the time. Theo argued that he had taken the time to seek out Dante, so Dante could return the courtesy by answering a few questions. Sonny was annoyed when he overheard Theo's comment as he approached Olivia's room. Theo warned Sonny that the case would proceed regardless of Dante's mother's condition. Theo claimed that he was the only person who could help Brenda and Dante because the circumstances of Anton's death reeked of collusion. Sonny didn't care; he insisted that Dante was too worried about Olivia to answer questions. Sonny warned Theo to leave Dante alone unless Brenda was about to be dragged away in chains. Theo appreciated Sonny's concern for Dante; he suggested that they had more in common than Sonny realized.

At the hospital, Carly pulled Sonny into a conference room for a private conversation. Carly thanked Sonny for being there for Morgan and Michael after the crash, but she admitted that she was concerned about Michael. Carly explained that Michael had been seeing a woman who was ten years Michael's senior. Carly had seen them hug, so she was certain that Abby wanted more than friendship from Michael. Carly freely admitted that she didn't like it because she feared that Abby was after Michael's money. Sonny assured her that Abby had a job, so money wasn't an issue. Carly was surprised that Sonny knew Abby. Her shock quickly turned to disbelief when Sonny let it slip that Abby was a dancer at a local strip club.

1/7 Sam and Jason sealed their bargain with a kiss just as Brenda walked in. Sam quickly excused herself and then left. Brenda turned to Jason for help planning the wedding, but Jason quickly made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with it. Later, Jason was curious why Brenda was in a rush to marry Sonny. Brenda reminded Jason that she loved Sonny and then added that she was eager to move out of the penthouse. Jason perked up at the thought of Brenda moving in with Sonny, but he insisted that she couldn't leave until it was safe. Jason promised to carry her to Sonny's house the moment she was out of danger. Brenda liked the idea of Jason carrying her to Sonny's house; however, she was more concerned about the wedding plans. Jason didn't care, so Brenda called Spinelli.

Brenda called Spinelli raced over to the penthouse, where Brenda explained that she needed him to help her put together a wedding. Spinelli softly explained that he couldn't help her because he was opposed to the marriage. Spinelli feared that Brenda might lose her career, her position with ASEC, and possibly her life if she married Sonny. Brenda was clearly disappointed, but she refused to apologize for following her heart. After Spinelli left, Brenda turned to Jason. She blamed Jason for Spinelli's reaction, so she demanded that he fix things.

In the conference room at the hospital, Carly grappled with the realization that Abby was a stripper. Sonny reminded Carly that they didn't know if Michael was involved with "this girl." Carly insisted that Abby wasn't a girl. "She's a grown-ass woman who takes her clothes off for money," Carly angrily stated. Sonny didn't think it was fair of Carly to judge a person based on what they did for a living. "Of course you'd think that," Carly shot back. Sonny reminded her that he had known strippers who had been nice kids with bad families. Carly wondered if Sonny were really okay with Michael dating a stripper, because Carly was not. Sonny explained that he had learned his lesson with Kristina, so he suggested that they cut Michael some slack. Sonny admitted that he had met Abby and that she had seemed nice. Carly couldn't believe that Sonny hadn't tried to pay off Abby. She insisted that they weren't Michael's friends; they were his parents, so it was their responsibility to step in when he went down the wrong path.

Theo met with Dante and Brenda at Jason's penthouse to discuss the wrongful death lawsuit. Brenda wondered if they could get a continuance. Theo explained that a man's son was dead and that the father had a right to expect someone to pay for it. Dante appeared puzzled by Theo's remark.

Michael went to Pozzulo's to talk to Sonny. Michael admitted that he was worried about Kristina and Molly because they still seemed to be in shock from the accident. Sonny thought that it was understandable given the circumstances. Sonny confessed that he was proud of how Michael had conducted himself after the crash. Sonny could see that Michael was uncomfortable with the praise, so he asked Michael how Morgan was doing. Michael chuckled as he confided that Morgan was milking his broken leg for all it was worth. Sonny revealed that Kristina felt guilty, so he was curious if Michael felt the same way. Michael admitted that he didn't, but Ali's death had made him realize that he had a lot to be thankful for.

Sonny recalled his own near-death experiences; he credited his children for giving him the will to keep going. Sonny thought that it was good to appreciate what was important in life. Michael confessed that he had been doing that with Abby. According to Michael, everything about Abby had been unexpected. Michael thought that she was smart, funny, and beautiful, but most importantly, he felt comfortable around her. Sonny was curious if Michael had seen Abby at work. Michael warned his father that he didn't want a lecture. Sonny assured Michael that he wouldn't give one, but he thought that it was important for Michael to remember that it would be a violation of Michael's parole to go to a strip club. Michael assured his father that he hadn't been to Vaughn's. Sonny was satisfied, so he moved on to let Michael know that Carly was on the warpath.

1/10 In Sonny's restaurant office, Sonny and Michael discussed Michael's relationship with Abby. Sonny said that he would not interfere, but cautioned Michael that Carly was on the warpath. Michael said that his mom wanted him to like high school, but Michael felt he no longer fit in there. Sonny said that Carly was trying to keep Michael safe. He said that Carly's fears had been exacerbated by the recent bus crash and Morgan's injury. Michael said that he and Abby were friends and that he could be himself around her. Sonny pointed out that Michael had control issues just like Sonny did. Sonny said that if Michael got into a fight at school he would land in the principal's office, but if he got in a fight at the strip club, he could end up bleeding in the parking lot or get sent back to prison. Michael said that Abby had asked him not to go to Vaughn's and that he had never been to the strip club. After Michael left, a jeweler arrived with a selection of engagement rings for Sonny to peruse.

Theo questioned Brenda and Dante at the penthouse. When Dante told Theo that there was nothing to tell because Brenda had killed Anton in self-defense, Theo said that Anton's family did not think so. He said it looked like two entitled people, shielded by celebrity and a police badge, were getting away with murder. Dante wanted to know which side Theo was on and told him to use some tact. Theo said fine, he would treat Brenda with kid gloves, and she would be even more vulnerable on the witness stand. Brenda said that she just wanted to get on with her life. Theo responded sarcastically that it was a privilege the dead man would not enjoy. Dante had heard enough. He told Theo that they got it and told him to leave. As he walked to the door, Theo said that he hoped that by the next time they met, Brenda could muster up some remorse for killing a man. After Theo left, Brenda expressed her fears about the situation. Dante said that they could not lose anything but money. Brenda was afraid that she would say the wrong thing on the stand or to Theo. Dante told her not to worry. He said that Theo did not know that she had killed Aleksander and would not find out.

Brenda was looking at bride magazines when Jason arrived home. He told her that he had spoken with Spinelli as she had asked, and he had agreed to help with the wedding. When Brenda said she wanted to ask for another favor, Jason was leery. Brenda said that she wanted Jason to walk her down the aisle. Jason suggested Edward instead, but Brenda said that Edward would keep advising her to flee, and she did not want to listen to a naysayer on her wedding day. Jason agreed to give her away, but said he did not want to help with the flowers or other arrangements. Brenda had happy tears as she gave Jason a big hug.

1/11 At the penthouse, the meeting with Carol Chen, the wedding planner started off rocky. Carol was not thrilled at the prospect of planning a wedding for Brenda and Sonny, "the mobster." The tension remained thick between Brenda and Carol as Brenda and Carol exchanged ideas for the wedding. Carol hoped that Brenda would be open to going outside of Cartullo Couture for a wedding gown; however, Brenda thought it was only right to give the fashion house that she represented an opportunity to create her dream dress. "How quaint," Carol remarked before she asked Brenda about the wedding date. Carol was stunned when Brenda revealed that the wedding was planned for February 18th. Sonny calmly explained that they merely needed some champagne and a minister for the wedding. Brenda smiled and then added that cake and flowers would be nice too. Brenda also wanted a small reception. Carol refused to put her name on a quickie "cut and paste" wedding, so she stood up to leave.

Brenda was outraged by Carol's snobbish attitude, so she threatened to get married in a sports bar. According to Brenda, all she needed for her dream wedding was Sonny. Sonny suggested that Carol saw Brenda as the Face of Cartullo and a celebrity; however, he saw a woman with hopes and dreams, who was eager to celebrate the greatest day of her life. Sonny explained that Brenda's wedding had nothing to do with Spinelli, Carol, or even him; it was all about Brenda. Sonny's heartfelt speech won Carol over.

Spinelli and Brenda were surprised when Carol dropped her purse on the desk and then prepared to dive into planning the wedding of Brenda's dreams. Sonny announced that he was whisking his fiancée away for a little while, so Carol and Spinelli had to work on the plans alone. A short time later, Sonny and Brenda curled up on the sofa at Greystone Manor with a glass of wine. Brenda realized that Carol might not be easy to work with, but she assured Sonny that Carol was good at what she did. They chatted about their wedding for a bit and then reminisced about a diamond tennis bracelet that Sonny had given to Brenda years before.

Brenda recalled that Jason had advised her to return it, so Brenda had tracked Sonny down to a restaurant where he had been having dinner with another woman to make Brenda jealous. Sonny chuckled as he remembered that Brenda had complained that the clasp on the bracelet had been stuck. He had realized then that Brenda had wanted to keep the bracelet. Brenda didn't deny it, but she confided that Jason had insisted that the bracelet be returned to Sonny. Sonny confessed that he had spent many nights staring at the bracelet after he had left Brenda at the church on their wedding day.

Sonny had no idea what had happened to the bracelet, but he was relieved that he no longer had it because too many bad memories had been attached to it. Brenda was surprised when Sonny suddenly produced a little jewelry box with two diamond rings nestled inside. Sonny slid the diamond engagement ring onto Brenda's finger as he revealed that he wanted her to keep the diamonds forever. Brenda's eyes filled with tears as he promised her that he would be at their wedding, so that he could give her the matching diamond wedding band. According to Sonny, the joined rings would signify that they were complete and intended to spend the rest of their lives together.

Later, Sonny dreamed of standing at the altar with Brenda. As they exchanged vows, he heard a woman cry out his name, followed by a loud gunshot. The nightmare startled Sonny awake.

Siobhan entered a confessional booth in a church. Theo sat in the booth next to hers. Theo disguised his voice by adopting a different accent before he expressed his disappointment in Siobhan's job performance. Siobhan explained to the Balkan that Jason, Dante, and Lucky hadn't made any headway in the investigation, so she didn't have anything new to report. The Balkan was curious if they believed that Jerry had been the Balkan. Siobhan admitted that there were doubts about Jerry. She warned the Balkan that it didn't help when she was unexpectedly summoned to meet him, because it raised questions. Siobhan explained that the quickest way for Lucky to lose faith in her was for her to be caught in a lie. The Balkan wondered if that would bother her. Siobhan reminded the Balkan that she needed Lucky to trust her, in order to gain information. The Balkan sensed that she had a sentimental attachment to Lucky, but she insisted that she was just doing her job. The Balkan warned her to make sure she kept doing it or the cost would be "substantial."

1/12 At Jason's penthouse, Jason was reading the Port Charles Herald when Brenda entered the living room. Brenda saw the headline about a body that had been found in the harbor. Jason warned Brenda not to assume that she was safe simply because the body might be Jerry's. Brenda decided to change the subject by showing off her engagement ring, but Jason lectured her about taking off with Sonny without her bodyguards. Brenda couldn't understand why Jason was upset, so Jason patiently explained that there wouldn't be a wedding if she were dead.

Later, Brenda went to Jax's office to offer him her condolences. Jax doubted that anyone would shed a tear for his brother, including him. Brenda knew how much Jax loved Jerry, so she understood his grief. Jax shifted gears by mentioning Brenda's wedding to Sonny. He was surprised when she revealed that the wedding date was February 18th. Brenda invited Jax to attend, but he declined because he believed that sooner, rather than later, she would realize that she had made a bad decision.

Jason returned home to find Brenda in the living room. Brenda revealed that she had gone to see Jax, so Jason wondered if Jax had mentioned anything about Jerry being the Balkan. Brenda explained that she hadn't questioned Jax about Jerry because Jax had been waiting for confirmation that Jerry's body had been recovered from the harbor. However, Brenda revealed that she had invited Jax to the wedding. Brenda also confessed that she would have to look at wedding venues the following day with Carol. Jason immediately objected because he didn't think that it was safe for Brenda to go out. Brenda argued that she needed to find a place for the wedding. She couldn't understand why Jason had to wreck everything. Jason explained that he had doubts about Siobhan's story because he didn't trust her. He wanted Brenda to postpone the wedding because he was certain that the Balkan would try to make a move against her. Brenda believed that Jason wanted to stop the wedding because he didn't want Brenda to leave.

1/13 At Pozzulo's, Sonny recalled the unsettling dream that he had of his wedding day with Brenda. Sonny shook the disturbing images away when Diane entered his office with a prenuptial agreement. Diane explained that it was a precautionary measure to protect his assets. Sonny resented the implication that his marriage to Brenda would fail. Diane wondered why Sonny cared what others thought, unless he had doubts about marrying Brenda. Sonny assured her that he wanted to marry Brenda. Diane was curious why Sonny hadn't shown up for his first wedding to Brenda. Sonny talked about Lily's tragic death and then admitted that he had feared that Brenda would meet the same fate. Diane was curious what had changed. Sonny insisted that Brenda was walking into the marriage with her eyes wide open.

According to Sonny, Brenda was fully aware of what could happen. He suspected that Brenda thought that he was worth the risk. "The question is, do you?" Diane wondered. Diane acknowledged that it was obvious that Sonny loved Brenda, but she didn't understand why they would get married while the Balkan remained a threat. Sonny explained that Brenda didn't want to wait and that he owed it to Brenda to give her what she wanted.

At the penthouse, Brenda accused Jason of being afraid to admit that he would miss her if she moved out because she gave his life some purpose. Carly barged into the penthouse before Jason could respond. Carly ordered Brenda to leave, but Brenda refused to budge. Carly started to argue with Brenda, but Jason cut Carly off by demanding to know what was going on. Carly explained that it was about Michael. Carly bristled when Brenda expressed concern about Michael. Carly refused to discuss her son with Brenda in the room, but Brenda explained that she merely wanted to help and that she would soon be Michael's stepmother. Carly pointed out that Brenda and Sonny hadn't made it down the aisle yet, so Brenda wasn't Sonny's wife. Brenda suggested that they try to do the "girlfriendy thing," so she held out her hand to show Carly the engagement ring that Sonny had bought. Carly pointedly ignored Brenda's hand as she warned Brenda to stay out of Michael's business. Carly made it clear that Michael had been through hell and then stormed out.

Siobhan met with the Balkan in a church confessional booth. The Balkan warned Siobhan that he didn't appreciate his calls being ignored, so he had left a "gift." Siobhan noticed an envelope in her booth, so she opened it to find a picture of a young woman bound to a chair with a gag in her mouth. "You bastard," Siobhan yelled. The Balkan told her to "watch the name calling," but Siobhan ignored him as she threatened to kill him if he touched a hair on the woman's head. After Siobhan calmed down, she demanded to know what the Balkan wanted from her. The Balkan explained that he knew that Lucky's father, Luke, was a good friend of Sonny's. The Balkan was certain that the Spencer clan would be invited to the wedding, so he expected Siobhan to make certain that Lucky attended the wedding with her. The Balkan wanted Siobhan to be his eyes and ears when he took his revenge against Brenda.

Dante went to Pozzulo's at Sonny's request. He was stunned when Sonny explained that he had called to ask Dante to be his best man. Dante was honored, but he turned his father down. Moments later, Brenda entered the office.

Dvd #10B 1/14 Brenda arrived at Sonny's office to find Sonny and Dante. Sonny informed her that he'd asked Dante to be his best man but that Dante had refused. Sonny urged Dante to think about the offer, and Brenda asserted that she knew why Dante did not want to be in the wedding party. Dante cut her off and explained that he did not want to lead Sonny on to believe that the two men were getting closer, emotionally. Brenda asked Dante to reconsider, and Dante finally agreed to be Sonny's best man.

Carly went to the McCall & Jackal office to convince Diane that Brenda had given birth to Dante's child. Diane was incredulous but gave Carly props for her originality. Carly explained that she had proof and, with or without Diane's cooperation, Carly would make sure Sonny and Brenda would not get married. Carly shared that she and Spinelli had been conducting an investigation into Dante and Brenda's past. Diane found the idea of Carly and Spinelli conspiring amusing. Carly produced a document that proved Dante had given up all rights to Brenda's child. Diane wondered where that child was. Carly admitted she didn't know but asked Diane to pull strings to get a legitimate copy of the document in order to prove that Carly was not lying. Diane asked why it would be in her interest to help Carly. Carly explained that Sonny would become unbearable when the truth eventually surfaced. Diane agreed to help.

Theo went to his office and unpacked his briefcase. As he stared at a photo of Alexander, Diane charged in, startling Theo, who dropped the picture. Diane bent over and picked up the photo but handed it to Theo without looking at it. Brenda walked in, and Diane took her leave. Theo asked Brenda to repeat the details of the night she inadvertently killed Mr. Banovic. Theo kept asking questions that did not pertain to the night they were discussing. It seemed that he was referring to the night Alexander was killed, but Brenda did not make the connection. Theo asked Brenda one final question, "Who is Alexander?"

Sonny invited Carly into his office and let her know that Dante would be his best man. Sonny asked Carly to allow Morgan to be in the wedding party as well. Carly made it clear she didn't appreciate Sonny involving all his kids, because they'd suffer when Sonny and Brenda's relationship eventually fell apart. Sonny told Carly that he knew she had information that supposedly would destroy his and Brenda's marriage and dared Carly to reveal what she knew at that moment.

Dante went to Jason's and revealed that DNA results concluded Jerry and Alexander were not related, which led Jason and Dante to believe that the Balkan was still alive.

In the confessional, Siobhan implored the Balkan to end his vendetta against Brenda. She begged him to leave her sister alone. He explained that he might ask Siobhan to lure Lucky to his death.

1/17 In Sonny's office, Carly was not thrilled to hear that Sonny wanted Morgan to participate in his wedding to Brenda. She told Sonny that Brenda would cause him nothing but pain. Sonny responded that he was not asking Carly to like Brenda; he just wanted to have Morgan there. Sonny told her that she would look small and vindictive if she did not let Morgan join his siblings in the celebration. Carly asked Sonny what he would do if he found out Brenda was hiding something. Sonny said it would not matter because they were all hiding something. Carly stood, buttoned her coat, and told Sonny that she would not stand in Morgan's way if he wanted to participate in Sonny's wedding. Before leaving, she warned Sonny to keep Brenda away from her boys. She told Sonny that Brenda was his mistake, and Carly did not want her kids to pay for it.

Dante went to the penthouse and told Jason that forensic tests proved that Jerry was not the Balkan, and Brenda was still in danger. Dante and Jason were discouraged to realize that Jerry's appearance had been a diversion, and they were back to square one.

Theo questioned Brenda in his office. During her recitation of the facts surrounding Anton's death, Theo insisted that she had mentioned someone named Aleksander. Brenda insisted that she had not. It did not take long for Theo to break Brenda down and find out everything that had happened on the night Aleksander had perished. She told Theo that Aleksander had never been her boyfriend. She said that he had followed her to New York, stalked her, and then attacked her police guard. She said that she'd picked up the gun the policeman had dropped and shot Aleksander. Brenda was sobbing as she admitted that Dante was the policeman who had taken the body away. Theo called her actions murder, but Brenda pleaded self-defense. Before Theo could elicit any more information, Dante and Jason arrived to tell Brenda that the Balkan was still alive.

Jason left with Brenda, but Theo insisted that Dante stay and answer some questions about the pending court case. When they were alone, he confronted Dante about Aleksander's death. At first, Dante denied that Brenda had killed Aleksander, but it soon became obvious that Brenda had told Theo everything. When Theo said that Brenda had committed murder, Dante said it was self-defense. Theo scoffed and said a jury would not buy two murders in self-defense within a five-year span. Dante said that Aleksander had been a rich, spoiled punk, living off his father's money. He said that Aleksander had treated Brenda like property, stalked her to an alley, and attacked Dante. Dante said that Aleksander was a big guy who had been choking the life out of him. Dante said he had nearly passed out when he heard the shot that had caused Aleksander to let him go.

Claire went to see Sonny. She told him that she was working for Diane's firm. He told her that he had set a wedding date with Brenda. She was happy for him. Jason arrived with Brenda. After introductions, Claire congratulated the happy couple and left.

Jason told Sonny the bad news about the Balkan and left, after encouraging Sonny and Brenda to postpone the wedding date. Brenda told Sonny that she did not want to postpone the wedding. She said the longer they waited, the greater the chance that something would go wrong and they would never wed. Sonny said the wedding would be an opportunity for the Balkan to hurt her, but Brenda said that she did not care. She said she was tired of hiding and being afraid. She made Sonny promise that they would be married on February 18th as planned.

Siobhan met the Balkan in a confessional booth. He told her about Aleksander's death from his perspective and painted Brenda and Dante as callous murderers who would soon pay for their crimes. Siobhan said she was sympathetic, but he would have to proceed without her because Lucky had broken up with her. The Balkan told Siobhan to do whatever it took to get Lucky back. Siobhan insisted that it was not possible. Siobhan's phone rang, and when she answered it, she heard her sister's terrified voice begging Siobhan to help her. Siobhan immediately agreed to the Balkan's demands. He told her to go back to Lucky and make sure she made it to the wedding. The Balkan told Siobhan that she would help him make sure that Brenda's wedding never happened.

1/18 In Sonny's office at Pozzulo's, Dante tried to persuade Sonny to postpone the wedding. Sonny knew that he wouldn't be able to convince Brenda to wait, so he insisted that the wedding would go ahead as planned. Dante worried that the Balkan would try to make a move against Brenda, but Sonny assured Dante that there would be extra security at the wedding. Dante decided to shift gears by letting Sonny know that Brenda had told Theo about Aleksander's death. Dante pointed out that he could end up losing his badge if the truth were revealed in court, but Sonny reminded Dante that Theo's job was to protect Dante and Brenda.

Shortly after Dante left, Jason stopped by to talk to Sonny about Mike's gambling problem. Sonny was disappointed because Mike had promised to steer clear of gambling after Mike had landed in the hospital the last time that Mike had lost a lot of money. Sonny realized that it was time for Mike to go to rehab; however, the timing couldn't be worse because of Sonny's impending wedding. Sonny suggested that Jason was an enabler when Jason suggested that they delay seeking treatment for Mike. According to Sonny, some people had to fall.

Jason confessed that he didn't like seeing his loved ones suffer. Jason offered to make the arrangements to send Mike to rehab, but Sonny insisted on taking care of it himself. Sonny then changed the subject by revealing that he had intended to ask Jason to be his best man, but Michael had suggested Dante. Jason assured Sonny that he understood and then reminded Sonny that he had agreed to walk Brenda down the aisle.

At Pozzulo's, Sonny stepped out of his office to find Theo seated at one the tables. Conan fetched a bottle of wine while Theo invited Sonny to have a seat. Theo tried to engage Sonny in some small talk, but Sonny preferred to get to the point; he assumed that Theo was there to discuss Brenda and Dante's case. The conversation drifted to the topic of Aleksander, prompting Sonny to refer to the Balkan's son as a "dirt bag." Theo hid his annoyance behind a tight smile as he warned Sonny that Brenda and Dante could end up in prison if the details of Aleksander's death were revealed. Sonny ordered Theo not to let Brenda testify. Theo insisted that it was up to him whether or not his client testified. Theo made it clear that Brenda would take the stand; all the work that Theo had done depended on it.

1/20 At Greystone Manor, Sonny and Brenda talked about their wedding plans over breakfast. Sonny suggested that they postpone the wedding because Jason didn't believe that Jerry had been the Balkan. "No way," Brenda argued. Sonny assured her that he wanted to marry her, so she told him about her wedding dress. Sonny was eager to see it, but Brenda would only reveal that the dress and veil were traditional. Sonny smiled as she listened to Brenda talk about the wedding. He loved seeing her happy.

Later, Sonny entered his office at Pozzulo's to find Claire waiting for him. Claire explained that she had some legal documents for him to sign. After Sonny signed the contracts, Claire gathered her things. Sonny wondered why she hadn't sent the documents by messenger. Claire explained that she wanted to show him that she could handle working with him. Sonny felt bad for not being able to return Claire's feelings. He didn't want her to be uncomfortable around him or Brenda, but Claire assured him that she was fine. Claire was a little surprised when Sonny confided to her that Jason wanted the wedding postponed, but that they had refused to do it. Claire was curious if Sonny worried about Brenda's safety. Sonny assured Claire that he had arranged for additional security, but he and Brenda had waited long enough to get married. Claire carefully hid her annoyance.

Theo made a beeline to Pozzulo's to manipulate Sonny into asking Claire to work on the wrongful death lawsuit. After Theo left, Sonny called a rehabilitation facility to get Mike help for his gambling addiction. Sonny assured the person on the phone that Mike was ready to make changes in his life, so Sonny would drop Mike off later that day. Molly walked in just as Sonny ended the call. Sonny was happy to see his niece, but he wondered if Alexis knew about the visit. Molly confessed that she hadn't told Viola or Alexis about her plans. Sonny explained that he was busy, so he would have someone drive her home. However, he was curious why she had stopped by. Molly quietly explained that she was doing a paper on bipolar disorder for science and that she had to interview someone who had it. Sonny confessed that it had gotten quite bad for him and that he had hurt a lot of people before he had been diagnosed with the disorder and then received treatment. Molly wondered how he had realized that something was wrong. Sonny told Molly about the terrible mood swings when he yelled and broke things. Molly pointed out that many people did things like that, so she wondered what the difference between normal outbursts and bipolar episodes were. Sonny admitted that deep in his heart, he had known that something was wrong with him.

Robin stopped by to visit Brenda at the penthouse. Brenda was stunned when Robin told her about Carol's visit because Brenda hadn't had a chance to ask Robin to be her matron of honor. Robin was happy to stand next to Brenda on her wedding day, but Robin wasn't thrilled with the term "matron." Brenda chuckled and then confided that Carol was incredibly rude, but had fabulous ideas. Robin confessed that she wished that Stone could be there to see Brenda and Sonny's wedding day. Robin was certain that Stone would have been happy for them; both agreed that Stone was smiling down on them. Robin implored Brenda to always be honest with Sonny and to talk things out when something was bothering her.

Robin believed that her failure to do those things had led to the breakdown of her marriage. Brenda thought that Robin and Patrick had been getting along better in recent weeks. Robin admitted that she had snapped at Patrick earlier that day when she had received some unpleasant news about Stone's wing. Robin revealed that there was always tension between her and Patrick when Stone was mentioned because Stone had been such a huge part of Robin's life. Robin then talked about Terrell. Brenda was curious if Patrick had cause to be concerned. Robin assured Brenda that it wasn't like that. According to Robin, Terrell "gets it" because he had a friend who had died of AIDS.

Carol barged into the penthouse moments later. Brenda immediately informed Carol that she was expected to close the door when she walked into Brenda's penthouse and that Brenda was the boss. Brenda resented Carol telling Robin that Robin's coloring was wrong. Brenda insisted that Robin was perfect. Carol refused to apologize as she asked if Brenda had another friend who could fill in for Robin. Carol promised that Brenda would have the wedding of her dreams, provided she followed Carol's advice. Brenda fired Carol, but Carol ignored her. Brenda and Robin stared in disbelief as Carol dashed out the door to attend to some other wedding plans with promises to meet with Brenda later that evening.

After Robin left, Dante stopped by to let Brenda know that Theo had told Lulu about their role in Aleksander's death. Brenda couldn't believe that Theo could do that. Dante took full responsibility for telling one lie too many. He assured Brenda that he had never regretted helping her. Brenda wanted to know how to fix things for Dante, so Dante asked her to postpone the wedding. Theo placed a call to someone to find out if they would be squeamish about abducting a bride on her wedding day.

1/21 While doing research for a school paper, Molly asked Sonny about his bipolar disorder. Sonny wondered if Molly was concerned about her own mental health, and she admitted that she feared she could have a genetic predisposition to the disorder. Sonny told her that she probably had nothing to be concerned over and assured her that he would support her no matter what. Molly changed the subject and expressed her excitement for the upcoming wedding.

Brenda articulated sorrow for her part in the problems Dante and Lulu were having. Dante insisted that Brenda postpone her wedding to Sonny. Brenda thanked Dante for always having protected her but insisted that she didn't need protection from Sonny. She knew the dangers of becoming a mobster's wife. Dante and Brenda agreed that they would continue to keep the child they'd given up a secret.

Diane stopped by to see Carly. Diane gave kudos to Carly for her "wildly inappropriate desire to butt into other people's lives" because, that time, it had borne fruit. Diane had procured undeniable proof that Dante had given up all rights to the child he and Brenda had conceived. Carly shared with Diane her plan to reveal the explosive truth just as the minister asked for objections during Sonny and Brenda's wedding. Diane balked and pleaded with Carly to share the information with Sonny in private. As Carly crowed about exposing Dante and Brenda's lies to everyone in Sonny's life, Dante walked in and overheard her scheming. Diane warned Carly that there would be fallout.

Sonny summoned Claire to his office to ask her to assist Theo in the defense during Brenda and Dante's wrongful death suit. Claire agreed. Brenda arrived, and Sonny informed her that Claire would be on the defense team. After Claire left, Sonny told Brenda that Mike needed rehab for his gambling addiction and that Sonny would drive Mike to the facility the following morning.

1/27 Siobhan met with the Balkan at their meeting place in a church. She told him that the wedding would be at St. Timothy's. The Balkan warned her that if she were wrong then her sister would pay the price. Siobhan started to leave, but the Balkan told her that he had one more assignment for her: he wanted her to help him make certain that Brenda didn't make it down the aisle.

1/28 Brenda walked in on Spinelli and Sam in Jason's living room as Spinelli gushingly planned for Sam's pregnancy. Sam set the record straight and told them that she was unable to get pregnant and wasn't planning to have experimental surgery. Though Sam believed she and Jason would make excellent parents, their lives were not in a suitable state for them to raise children. Sam asked Spinelli to run to the office to retrieve some files. After he left, Sam apologized to Brenda for putting her in an uncomfortable position, having to listen to the discussion of losing a child.

Spinelli later returned with the files, and Brenda let him know that Sam had left. He sheepishly admitted that he might have driven her off with all of his talk about parenthood. Without admitting she was discussing her own loss, Brenda emotionally discussed how difficult it must have been for Sam to have suffered a miscarriage.

Jason went to Lucky’s to ask if Lucky's sudden interest in Brenda and Sonny's wedding location was about Brenda's safety or Siobhan's. Lucky made it clear that his intention was to ensure that Brenda, Sonny, and their friends and family, all remained safe. Jason welcomed Lucky's input on the security team. Jason showed up at Dante's with the news that Siobhan was working for the Balkan but that Lucky was too infatuated to see it. Jason worried that Lucky was inadvertently giving information to Siobhan, which she was passing along to the Balkan. Dante suggested they tell Lucky of their suspicions.

At the confessional, Siobhan begged the Balkan to spare her sister's life. He told Siobhan that he was expecting her to help him prevent Brenda's wedding from happening. He then threatened to kill Lucky, should Siobhan fail in her mission. As Siobhan took photos of the interior of St Timothy's, Lucky walked in and let her know that Brenda and Sonny weren't actually getting married there. He told her he knew she was working for the Balkan.

Carly stormed in to Jason's and hollered for Spinelli. Brenda informed her that he was not there and invited Carly to leave. Carly decided to wait for him. As the two sniped at each other, Brenda revealed that Jax's recent trip had been to help Interpol apprehend the Balkan.

1/31 In the penthouse, Carly was speechless when Brenda told her that Jax had been in London to help Interpol catch the Balkan. Carly said that Brenda liked the attention of being rescued, and Brenda agreed. Brenda said that she was grateful to Jax. She said that because of the financial information that Jax had given Interpol about Jerry, her nightmare was almost over. When Brenda realized that Carly had not known the true purpose of Jax' trip, she said that if Carly and Jax were having problems, she was not one of them. Robin stopped in to discuss wedding plans. Carly made snide references to being left at the altar. Robin told her to give it up because nothing could stop the wedding. Carly stormed out. After Carly was gone, Robin told Brenda that the look on Carly's face said she was up to something and that Carly thought that she could destroy the wedding.

Siobhan showed Lucky a picture of her sister, Megan, who was bound and blindfolded. She told Lucky that Megan was being held by the Balkan.

Max was waiting outside the loft when Dante arrived home. He said Brenda was waiting inside. When Dante saw Brenda, she asked him if she could help. He said only Lulu could do that. Dante said he had never asked anything of Brenda before, but he wanted to know what had happened to the baby.

2/1 At Dante's loft, Dante apologized for asking Brenda about the baby. He realized that she might have a good reason for not telling him what had happened to the infant. Brenda assured Dante that it was okay. She explained that she had flown to Rome after she had left New York. Brenda had thought that everything would work out perfectly because she had the custody papers from Dante. According to Brenda, that was when she had met Suzanne.

Brenda had taken an immediate interest in the work that the Alliance to Save Exploited Children had done, so she had jumped at the opportunity to fly to Africa on behalf of ASEC. However, Brenda had talked to a doctor first, to make certain that it would be safe to travel in her condition. The doctor had assured Brenda that she was far enough along in the pregnancy that it wouldn't pose a problem. Brenda confided that Suzanne had known about the baby, so Suzanne had taken care of Brenda when Brenda developed a fever and then passed out. Brenda recalled waking up from her illness to learn that her son had died.

Brenda confided that she was occasionally blindsided by the loss, such as when Sam had talked about the stillbirth of her own daughter. Dante realized that Brenda was able to relate to the grief that Sam had endured. Brenda began to weep as she revealed that she had never had an opportunity to hold her baby boy. Dante immediately wrapped his arms around Brenda to comfort her. Seconds later, Lulu knocked on the door and then walked in. Lulu took one look at Brenda in Dante's arms and then turned away. Brenda urged Dante to follow Lulu.

Jax was waiting in his office when Brenda walked in. Jax wondered why Brenda had told Carly about the trip to London. Brenda accused Carly of being crazy, but Brenda hadn't thought that she had to hide Jax's trip from his wife. Jax revealed that Carly had asked for a divorce. Brenda admitted that it was probably for the best. Jax couldn't believe that Brenda would say that when she was about to marry Sonny. Brenda suggested that Jax shouldn't be vindictive towards others just because his marriage had failed. Jax argued that sometimes love wasn't enough. According to Jax, it wasn't just the pain that Sonny and Brenda caused each other, but the pain that Brenda caused for others. Jax reminded Brenda of Lily's grave in St. Andrew's Cemetery, the nervous breakdown that Brenda had suffered, all the people who had made sacrifices to help Brenda, and the women who had risked their lives and sanity to be with Sonny. Jax thought that Brenda ignored those things, but that they would one day catch up with her.

2/2 In the office at Pozzulo's, Lucky entered the office and told Jason and Dante that the Balkan intended to kidnap Brenda on her wedding day. Jason and Dante were curious how Lucky had learned about the abduction plans. Lucky revealed that he'd had some questions about Siobhan's activities, so Lucky had decided to set a trap for her to see what would happen. Lucky admitted that Siobhan had walked right into it, but he quickly assured Jason and Dante that Siobhan had not been a willing conspirator. Lucky explained that the Balkan had kidnapped Siobhan's sister, Megan, to force Siobhan to cooperate. Dante suggested that Siobhan could have made the whole thing up. Lucky suggested that Jason have Spinelli verify Megan's disappearance; however, Lucky he had already confirmed it.

Suzanne dropped by the penthouse to visit Brenda. Suzanne had just returned from a trip to Africa. Brenda wanted to know exactly where Suzanne had gone, so Suzanne reluctantly admitted that she had been in Somalia. Brenda quickly assured Suzanne that it was okay to talk about the place where Brenda had suffered a miscarriage. Suzanne reminded Brenda that Brenda had made Suzanne promise to shut Brenda up if Brenda had ever discussed the baby. Suzanne pointed out that she had gone through great lengths to keep Brenda's pregnancy out of the press. Brenda confessed that she was tired of keeping secrets from Sonny. Suzanne suggested that Brenda could remedy that by not marrying Sonny. Brenda was tried of hearing that from everyone. Suzanne thought that perhaps Brenda should listen to what people had to say about Brenda's decision to marry Sonny.

Later, Brenda was on the phone with Carol, the wedding planner, when Carly dropped by looking for Jason. Brenda explained that Jason wasn't there; however, Brenda decided to take the opportunity to let Carly know that she had heard about Carly's decision to divorce Jax. Brenda didn't want Carly to involve Sonny in the mess. Carly warned Brenda to back off because Carly had a lot of things going on with the children. Brenda offered to help, but Carly wasn't interested. Brenda pointed out that she would be Michael and Morgan's stepmother after the wedding. Carly warned Brenda that the truth had a nasty way of revealing itself, so Brenda shouldn't count on marrying Sonny. Later, Jason arrived home. Brenda implored Jason to find Carly because she feared that Carly intended to sabotage the wedding. Jason explained that they had bigger problems.

Brenda was stunned when Jason revealed that Siobhan had been working for the Balkan and that the Balkan intended to kidnap Brenda on her wedding day. Brenda suggested that Jason stop the Balkan, but Jason informed her that they didn't know who the Balkan was. Brenda made it clear that she wouldn't let anything stand in her way of marrying Sonny, so she refused to delay the wedding. Jason warned Brenda that she might walk into a trap. Brenda was more concerned about what Carly might have up her sleeve, so she insisted that Jason talk to Carly. Jason didn't see the point, since he doubted that Carly could do anything to stop the wedding. Brenda admitted that she was afraid that Carly would say something to Sonny that might change his mind about marrying Brenda.

2/3 At the penthouse, Jason explained to Brenda that Carly had a lot going on, so he doubted that she was interested in stopping Brenda and Sonny's wedding. Brenda disagreed because Carly had been constantly threatening to stop the wedding. Sonny entered the penthouse moments later. Brenda immediately told Sonny about Carly's vow to sabotage their special day. Sonny promised to take care of Carly. Brenda perked up when Sonny offered to take Brenda to the house in the woods for some time alone with him.

After Brenda went to pack a few things, Sonny asked Jason what Carly was planning to do. Jason assured Sonny that Carly wasn't the problem. He quickly filled Sonny in on Siobhan's association to the Balkan and then revealed that the Balkan intended to kidnap Brenda on her wedding day. Sonny trusted Lucky's instincts, but he didn't think that the Balkan would be foolish enough to make a move during such a high-profile event. Sonny's main concern was Carly. Sonny made it clear that he would not let anything mar his wedding to Brenda.

At the house in the woods, Brenda admitted that she couldn't stop worrying about Carly. Sonny promised Brenda that Carly couldn't say anything that would make him stop loving Brenda. Brenda smiled as she confessed that she wanted to start their lives together right away. Sonny felt the same way because he had waited too long for Brenda, so he refused to let anything tear her away from him. Later, Sonny woke up from the recurring nightmare of his wedding day to find that Brenda wasn't in bed with him.

2/4 A harried Kelly showed up at Jason's with Brenda's wedding dress. She went upstairs and placed it on Brenda's bed.

Carly went to Sonny's home and told him that Michael had been raped in prison. Sonny lamented all the harm Michael had suffered and was remorseful for living a life that imperiled his family. Carly responded that the blame rested squarely on Dante's shoulders for having put Michael behind bars. Carly asked Sonny not to marry Brenda, because the marriage would implode while Michael needed to lean on his father.

After Carly left, Brenda arrived with samples of wedding cakes. Sonny weakly expressed enthusiasm, but it was obvious to Brenda that Sonny was distracted. Later, Sonny went to Dante's and told him that Carly had shared the truth about Michael. Sonny knew Dante had known that Michael had been raped. Michael arrived and saw his father and brother talking. He assumed that Dante had told Sonny what had happened. As Carly descended the stairs at Jason's, she overheard Brenda and Robin about to enter. They walked in, but Carly was nowhere to be seen. Carly eavesdropped as she hid around a corner and listened to Brenda and Robin trash her. The two women decided not to continue talking about Carly and ran upstairs to see the wedding dress. An irked Carly quietly let herself out. In Brenda's room, Brenda and Robin walked in to find the dress torn to shreds.

2/7 At Jason's penthouse, Brenda held her shredded wedding dress and told Robin that she was sure that Carly was the culprit. Brenda and Robin entered the lobby and spotted Carly. Brenda wasted no time accusing Carly of destroying her wedding dress. Carly did not deny the accusation, but instead told Brenda that she had more important things going on than Brenda's wedding, which was never going to happen. Brenda challenged Carly to tell the truth. Carly changed the subject and walked away. Brenda told Jax that Carly's behavior was proof of her culpability. Jax said that if Carly had destroyed the dress, perhaps she had done Brenda a favor. Brenda said that if she had caused Jax and Carly to split, then perhaps she had done Jax a favor. Suzanne arrived on the scene immediately after Brenda flounced away. Suzanne told Jax that Brenda was running off a cliff named "Sonny."

Dante left Sonny and Michael alone at the loft. Sonny said that he knew about what had happened to Michael in prison. Sonny said that he wanted to help. Michael said that Sonny could not. Michael said that he had not wanted Sonny to find out because he did not want Sonny to be ashamed of him. Sonny said he was not ashamed. He said that he loved Michael so much that his heart hurt. He told Michael that things would be okay. Sonny told Michael that he had never been disappointed in him. Sonny took responsibility for everything that had happened and said that he was the one who had introduced Claudia into their lives. Sonny said Michael had been forced to kill to protect his mother and baby sister. Sonny said he was proud of Michael because nothing that had happened to him had made him bitter or cold. Sonny said that he had never been more proud of Michael.

Michael was surprised to find out that Carly, not Dante, had told Sonny about his ordeal. Michael said he was afraid that once Sonny found out about Carter's assault he would think that Michael was weak. Sonny said that there was no possible circumstance that would make him stop loving Michael. Sonny praised Michael's bravery in helping Abby and told Michael that keeping his feelings bottled up could be dangerous to him and those he loved. Sonny told Michael that it would take time and courage to get through his problems, but that at the end Michael would be better off. Michael smiled and accepted a loving hug from Sonny. He said that he was still shaky but looking forward to the distraction of the wedding. Michael said that he felt better after talking to Sonny.

Robin caught up with Jason at the penthouse. She told him to rein Carly in. She said that Carly would do anything to sabotage Brenda's wedding. Jason said that Carly had other worries besides the wedding. Robin showed Jason a piece of the wedding dress and said that Carly had done it. When Jason again defended Carly, Robin said that he never saw the truth about Carly. Jason said that the Balkan was the real threat and he would feel better if they caught the Balkan before the ceremony.

Sonny found Brenda at their house in the woods. He could tell something was wrong but did not immediately question her. She asked about Michael and Sonny told her that he was okay. Sonny asked why she was sitting in the dark and why she looked so gloomy. She said that she had no doubts about Sonny's love, but worried that external forces would tear them apart. Sonny said that they were an unbeatable combination as long as the loved and trusted each other. When Sonny asked what had happened, she showed him her wedding dress and blamed Carly for its destruction.

At an undisclosed location, the camera panned over a bed that held a pair of scissors and a piece of Brenda's wedding dress. A letter rested on a nearby desk. It was addressed to Carly Jax at the Metro Court. The envelope's return address said it was from MC Enterprises.

2/8 At the house in the woods, Sonny was frustrated when he reached Max's voicemail. Sonny warned Max that Max wasn't paid for Sonny to speak to voicemail. Sonny wanted to know who had destroyed Brenda's wedding gown, so he expected Max to return the call with a list of people who had access to Jason's penthouse. After Sonny ended the call, Brenda let Sonny know that Carly was her prime suspect. According to Brenda, Carly had unfettered access to the penthouse, which gave Carly plenty of opportunity to take a pair of shears to the dress. Sonny doubted that Carly had ruined the dress, but Brenda insisted that Carly had been motivated by jealousy because Brenda was Sonny's first love and his last love. Sonny admitted that he suspected that the Balkan might have been behind the stunt. Brenda wondered why the Balkan would want to shred the wedding dress. Sonny suggested that the dress had been a precursor to let them know that Brenda would be next.

Brenda was certain that Carly had hoped to stop the wedding because Carly wanted Sonny back. Sonny argued that Carly wasn't interested in reconciling with him. Sonny suggested that if Carly had done it then it had been done out of a misguided attempt to help Sonny by stopping the wedding. Brenda demanded that Sonny talk to Carly. Sonny agreed to do it, but he made it clear that he still suspected that the Balkan had been responsible for the damaged wedding dress. Brenda wondered if Sonny wanted to cancel the wedding. Sonny insisted that the wedding didn't matter; it was the marriage that counted. He admitted that he had considered eloping with Brenda. He painted a romantic picture of a sunset wedding on the beach, which Brenda confessed sounded lovely. Brenda was tempted to accept Sonny's invitation to elope, but then she reconsidered because she didn't want to disappoint Kristina and Molly because the girls had their hearts set on being part of the wedding. Brenda insisted that they go through with their wedding at the Archer Pavilion.

Meanwhile, an unknown person set off the sprinkler system in the Archer Pavilion. Later, Brenda and Sonny talked about their first meeting on the docks. Brenda believed that she and Sonny had been destined to be together, so she was happy that they were getting married. Brenda's joy disappeared when a harried Carol entered the living room with bad news; the Archer Pavilion had been flooded.

Jason found Carly at the bar in Metro Court Restaurant. He questioned her about Brenda's wedding dress, but Carly became defensive. Jason started to have doubts about Carly's innocence because she refused to answer his question. Carly clarified that she would have destroyed the wedding dress if she'd had an opportunity, but she hadn't done it. Seconds later, Ronnie approached them. Carly assumed that Ronnie was there to question Jason, but Ronnie revealed that he was there to talk to Carly. Carly couldn't imagine what Ronnie had to talk to her about. "Malicious mischief," Ronnie informed her. Ronnie wanted to know what Carly knew about the Archer Pavilion being flooded. Jason looked at Carly with concern.

2/9 At Metro Court Restaurant, Ronnie questioned Carly about the flood at the Archer Pavilion. Carly denied that she had anything to do with it, but Ronnie informed her that her business card had been found at the scene of the crime. Carly insisted that Brenda had framed her; Carly wouldn't have been foolish enough to leave a business card behind if Carly had tampered with the sprinkler system. Ronnie didn't believe Carly, so he insisted that she accompany him to the police station. Carly denied that she'd had anything to do with Brenda's ruined wedding dress or the flooded pavilion. Ronnie was curious about the wedding dress, so Jason warned Carly to stop talking until she had legal representation. Jason then wondered when the pavilion had been flooded. "An hour ago," Ronnie responded.

At the house in the woods, Carol told Brenda and Sonny that the Archer Pavilion had been flooded. Sonny quickly guessed that someone had set off the sprinkler system. Brenda was certain that Carly had caused the flood. Brenda refused to allow Carly to succeed in ruining the wedding, so she ordered Carol to salvage what she could. Carol warned Brenda that it would be an impossible task, but she promised to do her best. After Carol left, Sonny suggested that he and Brenda elope. Brenda agreed as long as the children were included in the wedding ceremony.

Later, Jason called Sonny to find out where Brenda had been during the time that the Archer Pavilion had been flooded. Sonny assured Jason that Brenda had been at the house in the woods. Jason explained that Carly had been taken to the police station for questioning. Sonny insisted that Jason not step in to help Carly because Sonny was tired of Carly's antics. Sonny was certain that Carly had been responsible for the flood, so it was time to stop Carly from causing more trouble. After Sonny ended the call with Jason, he informed Brenda that he intended to go to the police station to confront Carly. Brenda believed that it was exactly what Carly wanted Sonny to do. Sonny feared that ignoring Carly would only encourage Carly to continue causing problems, so he intended to shut Carly down once and for all. At the police station, Carly continued to blame Brenda for framing her. Ronnie conceded that he didn't have enough evidence to arrest Carly, so she was free to go. Jason pulled Carly aside to let Carly know that Brenda had an alibi, so Brenda had not been responsible for the damage to the pavilion. Jason was curious where Carly had been during the time that the pavilion had been flooded. Carly explained that she had taken Michael to the hospital for a therapy session and then gone to Metro Court.

Carly continued to try to clear her name after Jason left. Sonny arrived a short time later. He warned Carly that she had pushed things too far. Carly informed Sonny that she had been with Michael at the hospital for Michael's first therapy session when the pavilion had been flooded. She was hurt that Sonny didn't believe her. Sonny explained that he knew that Carly was capable of setting the sprinklers off in the pavilion if she believed that she was helping Sonny. Carly warned Sonny that she would have stopped Sonny from marrying Claudia if she had been interested in keeping Sonny from marrying a "whack job." According to Carly, it would have spared Michael from going to prison. Sonny accused Carly of taking a cheap shot at him. Carly didn't apologize because it was true.

Suzanne stopped by, looking for Brenda. Sam explained that Brenda was out with Sonny, but that Brenda was expected to return soon. Suzanne decided to wait, so Sam told Suzanne about Brenda's ruined wedding dress and the flooded pavilion. Suzanne was upset because she had been assured that Jason could keep Brenda safe. Suzanne demanded to know where the guards had been just as Brenda entered the penthouse. Sam gathered her things as she assured Brenda that they would find the person responsible for the acts of sabotage. Brenda was surprised that they were going to pretend that Carly had nothing to do with the acts of vandalism. Sam promised Brenda that Jason would do everything to make certain that the wedding went smoothly. After Sam left, Suzanne wondered if Brenda truly believed that Carly had been the culprit. Brenda nodded, but vowed that Carly wouldn't succeed.

At Pozzulo's, Jason arrived for a meeting with Sonny. Sonny warned Jason to get Carly in line. Jason admitted that he didn't think that Carly had destroyed Brenda's wedding dress or flooded the pavilion. Sonny argued that Carly was determined to stop the wedding; he begged Jason to intervene before Carly caused more trouble. Jason managed to convince Sonny that someone else might be responsible, so Sonny ordered Jason to find the person.

2/14 On Valentine's Day, Brenda, Suzanne, Spinelli, and Carol the wedding planner were gathered at the house in the woods. They were discussing a new venue for the wedding. Suzanne was desperately trying to get Brenda to cancel the wedding, but Brenda refused. Sonny arrived with flowers just as Brenda was showing off his wedding band. Sonny wanted to see it, but Brenda said it was bad luck. Suzanne said that Brenda was operating under the mistaken belief that love conquered all. Sonny told Suzanne that the wedding was on whether she approved or not. Sonny said that he wanted to be alone with Brenda, so Spinelli, Suzanne, and Carol left reluctantly. After they were gone, Brenda said that she was afraid that she was going to wake up and find out that her happiness with Sonny was a dream. Sonny said that he was going to make her dream a reality. Sonny playfully insisted that Brenda show him the ring she had picked, out and she finally agreed. When she opened the box, the ring was gone.

Theo met with Shawn and discussed a plan to kidnap Brenda on her wedding day. He also told Shawn that Jason was becoming a problem, and it was time to send him a message. Later, Shawn entered the restaurant and went into Sonny's office. He was looking at papers on Sonny's desk when he heard something or saw movement. He pulled his gun and turned around to find Jason pointing a gun at him.

2/15 At the house in the woods, Brenda dumped the contents of her purse on the sofa, in an effort to find the missing wedding ring that she had bought for Sonny. Brenda was certain that Carly was behind the ring's disappearance when she couldn't find it. Sonny doubted that Carly was responsible for the theft. Sonny explained that Carly was too busy dealing with Michael's problems to be concerned about Sonny and Brenda's wedding. Brenda didn't agree; she suggested that Carly was manipulating Sonny by using Michael to deflect suspicion. Sonny couldn't explain what was going on with Michael, but he was confident that Carly wasn't behind the stolen ring. Brenda wondered who else could have taken the ring. Sonny admitted that he had his suspicions. Later, Brenda admitted that she thought that Sonny was way off-base about the culprit. The debate ceased when Suzanne arrived.

Suzanne joined Sonny and Brenda in the living room to find out why they had called her. Sonny revealed that the wedding ring that Brenda had bought for Sonny had disappeared. Suzanne immediately blamed Carly for the missing ring as well as the torn wedding dress and the flooded pavilion. Sonny explained that Carly hadn't had access to the ring, so it couldn't have been her. Suzanne began to worry that the acts of sabotage might have been a warning from the Balkan that Brenda couldn't have the life that Brenda wanted. Suzanne immediately urged Brenda not to go through with the wedding. Sonny admitted that he had suspected that would have been Suzanne's response. Suzanne wondered what Sonny meant by that. "Game's over. You got caught," Sonny responded. Suzanne was stunned when Sonny accused Suzanne of having motive and opportunity to destroy the wedding dress, flood the pavilion, and steal the ring.

Suzanne denied that she had anything to do with the acts of sabotage, but Brenda angrily demanded to know the truth. Suzanne hesitated a moment, but then admitted that Sonny had been right; Suzanne had been responsible for all of the mishaps. Suzanne explained that she had done it because she loved Brenda like a daughter. Suzanne insisted that Brenda's marriage to Sonny would endanger Brenda further. Brenda was livid; she accused Suzanne of only being interested in how much money Brenda could rake in for the charity. Brenda suspected that was the reason that Suzanne had supported Brenda's relationship with Murphy. Suzanne insisted that she loved Brenda and that she feared that the Balkan would target Brenda at the wedding. Suzanne claimed that she had been the only person "who had the balls" to try to stop Brenda from marrying Sonny.

Brenda ordered Suzanne to get out of her life. Suzanne produced the missing wedding ring and then handed it to Brenda. Sonny realized that Brenda was deeply hurt, so he talked to her about forgiving and moving past what had happened because it hadn't stopped the wedding. Suzanne tearfully apologized to Brenda and then started to walk away. Brenda jumped up, ran to Suzanne, and then hugged her. After Suzanne left, Brenda admitted she couldn't believe that Suzanne had been responsible for everything that had happened. Brenda confessed that Sonny's heartfelt words had resonated with her. Brenda was curious when Sonny had become so forgiving. Sonny explained that he knew what Brenda's life had been like; it had been glamorous on the outside, but lonely on the inside. Sonny was grateful that Brenda had Suzanne around during that time to lean on.

At Pozzulo's, Sam and Jason confronted Shawn in the office. Shawn looked at the guns aimed at him and then slowly explained that he had slipped into the office because "turnabout was fair play." According to Shawn, Theo wanted Jason to stop digging into Theo's background. Jason wondered if Theo had something to hide. "No," Shawn answered. According to Shawn, Theo wanted Jason to focus on the wrongful death lawsuit, not Theo's past. Shawn reminded Jason that they were all on the same side, but Jason warned Shawn that Shawn had used his free pass. Jason made it clear that the next time, Jason would treat Shawn like any other intruder if he caught Shawn snooping around. After Shawn left, Jason and Sam agreed that Shawn wasn't an amateur, so they decided to investigate Shawn further.

A short time later, Theo stormed into the office, demanding to know why he had been summoned in the middle of the night. Jason immediately fired Theo for the stunt that Theo had pulled earlier that evening. Theo pretended to be pleased with the decision; however, he warned Jason that Brenda would need an attorney who could handle Brenda's fragile state of mind. Theo explained that Brenda had quickly confessed to killing another man when Theo had questioned her about Anton's death. Jason couldn't worry about that, so Theo wondered how Jason felt about Michael. Jason tensed as Theo suggested that Judge Carroll might have a change of heart about Michael's parole when it was revealed that Dante had covered up the death of a man. Theo was certain that the judge would send Michael back to Pentonville. Sam ordered Theo to get "the hell out" and then reminded Theo that he had been fired.

Sam was stunned when Jason decided that Theo could continue to represent Brenda and Dante as long as Theo focused on the case. Theo smiled with satisfaction and then left. Sam warned Jason that he had given Theo a master class on how to manipulate Jason. Sam feared that Theo would do it again because Theo was bad news. Jason agreed, but he confided that he intended to keep Theo very close until they determined just how bad Theo was. Jason admitted that he wanted Theo to believe that Theo had the upper hand. According to Jason, Theo's reaction to being fired had shown Jason who Theo really was. Jason confided that he suspected that Theo was somehow linked to the Balkan; he just didn't know how.

Theo entered his office in a good mood. He announced that it had been a productive evening and then gloated that he had Jason by the throat. "What about you?" Theo asked the person sitting in his chair. Suzanne turned to face Theo. She confessed that she and Sonny had reached a truce for Brenda's sake and that it had been quite an emotional moment. "How delicious," Theo replied. Theo conceded that Suzanne was a formidable woman, so he had been wise to marry her. Theo and Suzanne shared a brief kiss and then confessed that they had missed each other. Suzanne realized that it had been necessary to remain apart because they had to lay the groundwork to make Brenda pay for killing their son, Aleksander.

2/16 In the law office, Suzanne thought that everyone would be stunned to learn that she was married to Theo. Theo agreed and then began to talk about Aleksander. Suzanne assured Theo that she had never mentioned their son to Brenda, but that Brenda had claimed that Aleksander had been abusive. Suzanne also revealed that Brenda had never shown any remorse for killing their son. She confessed that it had taken quite a bit of effort to hide her true feelings from Brenda. Theo and Suzanne then began to discuss their plans for Brenda. Theo intended to go to the hospital to pump Robin for information about the wedding. They were startled when Brenda suddenly entered the office. Theo immediately explained that he had called Suzanne to question her about Brenda's reaction to the Banovic shooting. Brenda admitted that she didn't want to discuss the lawsuit until after her wedding.

Suzanne took the opportunity to offer Brenda another convincing heartfelt apology and then assured Brenda that she wanted to help in any way possible. Theo assured Brenda that Suzanne had been of great assistance to him. Theo realized that he tended to be the bearer of bad news, but he revealed that he had some good tidings for once. Brenda squealed with delight when Theo announced that he had managed to get the court case postponed for two months. Suzanne and Theo barely contained their disdain for Brenda as she thanked Theo and then hugged Suzanne.

Carly entered the house in the woods, looking for Brenda. She found Sonny standing in the living room instead. Sonny explained that Brenda wasn't there, so Carly turned to leave. Sonny was curious why Carly wanted to see Brenda; he suspected that Carly hoped to stop the wedding. Carly didn't deny it as she pointed out that she was honest about her intentions. Sonny realized that she was referring to the wrongful accusations of her sabotaging the wedding. Sonny let Carly know that Suzanne had been responsible for the wedding mishaps. Carly started to leave, but Sonny wondered why she was in such a hurry. Carly claimed that she didn't want to argue with Sonny, so Sonny suggested that she promise to stay away from the wedding.

Carly claimed that she was concerned about Sonny. Sonny assured Carly that he wouldn't have another breakdown because he was being treated for his bipolar disorder, but Carly argued that a lot had happened to Sonny since he had first fallen in love with Brenda twenty years before. Carly reminded Sonny that he had gotten married, had children, and endured many struggles, but Brenda had remained frozen in time. Carly didn't think that Brenda could love Sonny because Brenda only loved herself. Sonny insisted that Carly could hate Brenda all she wanted, but he expected Carly to respect Brenda's role in his life. Carly was outraged by the suggestion; she would never respect Brenda. Carly refused to let Brenda destroy Sonny, so she vowed to stop the wedding.

At the penthouse, Jason let Sam know that Spinelli's background check on Theo had been clean. Sam suggested that perhaps that meant that Theo was exactly whom he appeared to be. Jason continued to have doubts, but Sam thought that Theo might simply be someone who just wanted the publicity of exonerating Brenda in a wrongful death lawsuit. Sam worried that Jason might be too focused on trying to prove that Theo was linked to the Balkan that he might miss some important clues. Jason was certain that the Balkan would try to grab Brenda before the wedding, so he was determined to unmask the international crime lord before it was too late. Jason reminded Sam that the timing of the wrongful death lawsuit was suspicious because it had been filed weeks after Anton's death. Sam agreed that it all seemed very convenient for Theo. Their conversation was cut short when Kristina arrived to help Brenda prepare for the wedding. Moments later, Brenda burst through the door and then happily announced that Theo had managed to delay the hearing for the lawsuit.

Spinelli was in his office trying to wrap a wedding gift for Sonny and Brenda when Carly strolled in. Carly thought that it was a premature for Spinelli to buy gifts for Sonny and Brenda's new home in the woods. Spinelli realized that Carly still intended to go through with her plans to stop the wedding. Carly revealed that she would confront Brenda about the secret before the wedding to give Brenda the opportunity to walk away from Sonny without Carly telling him about the baby. Spinelli was curious what Carly would do if Brenda decided to go through with the wedding. Carly smiled wickedly as she assured him that she was prepared to expose Brenda and Dante at the wedding.

Jason and Sam entered the office moments later. Jason wondered what Carly was doing there, so Spinelli quickly covered for Carly by claiming that he had called her to make certain that she was okay. Jason warned Carly not to pull any stunts to stop the wedding. Carly was annoyed, so she left. Spinelli was curious why Jason and Sam had stopped by. Jason explained that he needed Spinelli to keep searching for the Balkan. Spinelli didn't see the point, since his previous searches hadn't yielded any information. Jason revealed that they had a new lead. Jason explained that they needed to find Aleksander's DNA to compare it to the DNA of their suspects. Jason realized that it was a long shot, but he hoped that the Balkan had made a mistake along the way.

Robin went to Pozzulo's to visit Sonny. She confessed that she was happy for Sonny and Brenda, but she was a bit surprised by how calm Sonny seemed. Sonny explained that he couldn't wait for the wedding to be over even though he was marrying the woman of his dreams. He then took the opportunity to thank Robin for helping to reunite him with Brenda. Sonny appreciated that she had always believed in them. Sonny credited Robin for making it possible for him to marry Brenda. Robin admitted that she had wanted Sonny and Brenda to be together for a very long time, so she hoped that they would be happy.

A short time later, Sonny listened as Robin spoke to Patrick on the phone about Theo's appointment. Robin thanked Patrick for taking care of things and then ended the call. Sonny wondered how everything was going between Robin and Patrick. "Amicable," Robin admitted. Sonny was surprised by her less than enthusiastic response. Robin confided that it was nice to see Patrick on his best behavior. Sonny confessed that he wished that Stone could be at the wedding. Robin agreed that Stone would have been happy to see Sonny and Brenda get married because Stone had wanted his loved ones to find happiness. Robin realized that perhaps things had to happen as they had in order for them to appreciate what they had.

After Robin left, Sonny invited Max and Milo into his office. Sonny explained that he had a job for the Giambetti brothers; he wanted them to save Carly from herself by stopping her from disrupting the wedding. Sonny feared that Carly would try to stop the wedding by pulling a stunt that might hurt the children and herself, so he asked Max and Milo to guard Carly and not let her out of their sight until after the wedding.

At the penthouse, Kristina and Brenda were putting together wedding favors for the reception when Kristina admitted that she wasn't used to knowing a famous person. Brenda confessed that she was nervous, too, because she wanted Kristina and Molly to like her. Kristina assured Brenda that they did. Molly arrived moments later with cupcakes and a checklist for the wedding. Kristina reminded Molly that Brenda had a wedding planner. The girls were surprised when Brenda blurted out that she hated Carol. Brenda realized that she probably shouldn't have said that, but she insisted that Kristina and Molly were much more fun than Carol. A short time later, Suzanne stopped by to see Brenda. Brenda introduced Suzanne to Kristina and Molly. Suzanne was reluctant to intrude on Brenda's family time, but she had wanted to wish Brenda well. Suzanne hoped that Brenda got everything that she deserved.

After Suzanne left, Robin arrived to help out with the wedding preparations. Brenda was relieved to be organized for once, thanks to Molly's helpful wedding checklist. The girls noticed Brenda's rings. Brenda revealed that each ring signified something special. The rose-gold ring represented Brenda and Sonny's past, while the gold ring represented their present and how lucky they had been to have found each other again. Brenda explained that Sonny would place the third ring, representing their future, on her finger during the wedding. Molly thought that the rings were romantic; she likened Brenda and Sonny to Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice.

Moments later, someone knocked on the door. Brenda assumed that it was Carol, but it turned out to be Carly. Carly admitted that Sonny had told her that Suzanne had been responsible for the acts of sabotage. Brenda confirmed that it was true and then apologized for accusing Carly. Carly insisted that she needed to speak to Brenda in private, but Robin refused to let Carly ruin their day. Robin ordered Carly to go away. Robin suggested that Carly have enough self-respect to leave everyone alone and then slammed the door in Carly's face. Carly simply smiled.

Shawn met Theo at the law office to go over their plans for the following day. Theo assured Shawn that someone would arrange for Shawn to gain access to Brenda. Shawn was expected to kidnap Brenda before the wedding and then take her to the meeting place, so that Brenda could finally answer for the death of Aleksander. Theo assured Shawn that Shawn's duty would end there.

2/17 At the penthouse, Robin and Carol were going over some last-minute wedding plans when Suzanne asked where Brenda was. Brenda stood at the top of the staircase as Robin explained that Brenda was getting ready. Suzanne suggested that Brenda might be taking her time because she was having second thoughts about marrying Sonny. Robin explained that Brenda had good reason to have some pre-wedding jitters because Brenda and Sonny's last wedding day had ended very badly. Carol agreed that Brenda needed to hurry up because Brenda still needed to get her hair and makeup done before the wedding.

Brenda entered the living room and then announced that she hated to disappoint Suzanne, but Brenda intended to go through with the wedding. Brenda bristled when Suzanne suggested that they release some wedding pictures to the press. Carol agreed with Suzanne, but Brenda flatly refused to consider it. Suzanne and Carol decided to take care of some things before the wedding, so they left. Robin wondered if Brenda were okay. "Yes," Brenda assured her best friend; however, Brenda admitted that she was afraid that something might go wrong.

At the law office, Theo informed Shawn that he had arranged for Diane to add Shawn to the security team at the Archer Pavilion. Theo assured Shawn that someone on the inside would provide Shawn with access to Brenda's changing room. Shawn was curious if the person could be trusted. "Implicitly," Theo promised.

Later, Brenda admitted that she feared that she had forgotten something as she packed some things for the wedding. Robin promised Brenda that everything would be fine. Brenda and Robin started to leave, but stopped short when they opened the door to find Edward standing on the doorstep. Edward explained that he needed to talk to Brenda before "this tragedy takes place." Robin warned Edward not to try to talk Brenda out of marrying Sonny. Edward explained that he just needed assurance that Sonny would be at the wedding instead of repeating history by sending Jason to the altar to call off the wedding. Edward couldn't take it if Brenda's heart were broken a second time. Brenda asked to have a private word with Edward, so Robin stepped out of the room. Brenda promised Edward that Sonny would be at the pavilion. Edward wondered if Brenda were sure that she wanted to go through with the marriage. Brenda explained that she knew Sonny and who he was; she loved him, faults and all. Edward smiled as he pulled a delicate handkerchief out of his pocket and then handed it to Brenda. He explained that Lila had carried the handkerchief during her wedding to Edward. Brenda was moved to tears as she accepted the precious gift. Edward wanted Brenda to be happy, but he vowed to kill Sonny himself if Sonny hurt Brenda.

At Greystone Manor, Sonny instructed Max and Milo to keep Carly away from the wedding. Max feared that Carly wouldn't cooperate. Sonny didn't care; he refused to allow Carly ruin his wedding day. Max warned Sonny that Carly knew the house like the back of her hand, so she would likely find a way to sneak out. Sonny made it clear that he expected Max and Milo to make certain that she didn't escape. Michael entered the parlor and immediately sensed that something was going on. Sonny claimed that they had been going over the various security measures for the wedding. According to Sonny, Brenda was nervous, so Sonny wanted to make sure that everything went smoothly. After Max and Milo left, Michael wondered if Sonny needed anything. "No," Sonny assured his son. Michael noticed that Sonny seemed nervous. Sonny confessed that it felt as if it were his first wedding. Sonny had learned that when a person found the love of their life then they should hold on. Later, Sonny spoke to Mike on the phone. Sonny assured Mike that it was okay for Mike not to attend the wedding. Sonny just wanted Mike to get well.

After Sonny ended the call, Michael asked, "How's Grandpa doing?" "Not good. Not good," Sonny answered. Sonny explained that Mike had been struggling. Sonny assured Michael that Michael was a better son than Sonny had ever been. Michael insisted that Sonny had been a better father than any other man could have been. Michael was grateful that Carly and Sonny had always been there for him. Carly was surprised to see Michael when she entered the parlor. She asked her son what he was doing there. Sonny reminded Carly that Michael didn't need a reason to visit his father. Carly explained that she had received several messages from the wedding planner, who had been looking for Michael. Sonny and Carly then proceeded to have a cryptic conversation about the wedding and Brenda. Michael sensed that something was brewing between his parents, so he warned them not to do anything foolish. Carly denied that she was up to anything, but Michael knew that Carly hated Brenda, so he turned to Sonny for answers. Sonny insisted that he just wanted to have an uneventful wedding day. Sonny and Michael looked to Carly for reassurance, but she stuck to her innocent act.

Carly arrived at Spinelli's office to find out why he had sent her numerous text messages. Spinelli explained that he was curious if the wedding had been cancelled. Carly admitted that she hadn't had a chance to talk to Brenda, but Carly was determined to save Sonny. Carly planned to corner Brenda before the ceremony to give Brenda an opportunity to back out of the wedding. Spinelli wondered what Carly would do if she didn't get to Brenda in time. Carly answered, "I guess we'll have to see."

Suzanne went to see Theo at his office before she headed to the pavilion. She was concerned that he might be getting sick because he seemed flushed. Suzanne squirted hand sanitizer on her husband's hands as he complained that Port Charles was nothing but a great big "petri dish." He was grateful that they would only be spending a few more hours in the "horrid town." Suzanne cautioned Theo not to get ahead of himself. Theo was confident that everything would work out according to their plan. He offered to pour some champagne to toast to their success, but Suzanne declined because she had to get to the Archer Pavilion. Theo promised to put the champagne on ice, so that they could indulge after they had their revenge.

At the Archer Pavilion, Jason and Dante discussed the various security measures that had been taken to keep the Balkan from kidnapping Brenda. Dante was impressed with the tight security, but he continued to have a bad feeling. Dante arrived at Greystone Manor to pick up Sonny. Dante appreciated that Sonny had always made an effort to reach out to him after Sonny had learned that Dante was his son. Sonny thanked Dante for putting his badge on the line for Brenda after she had shot Aleksander. Sonny confessed that, in a way, Dante had made it possible for Sonny to be with Brenda. Sonny couldn't thank Dante enough for that.

Michael arrived a short time later. Michael revealed that he had been worried that Carly would return to do something to stop the wedding. Sonny assured Michael that he wasn't concerned about Carly and then changed the subject to let Michael know that Dante and Sonny had just had a heart-to-heart talk. Sonny wanted Michael and Dante to know that he was proud of the men that they had become.

Carly entered Kelly’s and demanded to know why Max had called her. Max explained that Carly couldn't go to the wedding and that they would stop her if she tried. Carly turned to Luke to find out if he were responsible. Luke wondered if she truly believed that he would sell out his own flesh and blood. "For the right price, in a heartbeat," she answered without hesitation. Luke assured her that he had no idea what was going on. Carly turned to leave, but found Milo blocking her path. She tried to go around him, so Max was forced to pick Carly up and then drag her out of the diner, kicking and screaming, while Luke chuckled.

At the Archer Pavilion, Shawn managed to slip into Brenda's changing room. He started to tinker with the lock on the door when Carol walked in. Carol immediately demanded to know what he was doing in the room. Suzanne arrived in time to explain that Shawn was part of the security detail. Suzanne offered to take the wedding dress from Carol, but Carol decided to hang onto it until Brenda had arrived. After Carol left, Suzanne warned Shawn that Carol was a bit high-strung, so he shouldn't let that stop him from doing his job. Molly knocked on the door to Theo's office before she entered. Seconds later, she ducked under the desk when she heard Theo approach the office. Theo was on the phone with Shawn, asking for an update. Theo anticipated Brenda discovering that Theo was the Balkan at the moment that Theo took his revenge on her for murdering Aleksander.

At the penthouse, Sam and Jason had changed into dress clothes and were prepared to leave for the wedding. Sam was thrilled that Brenda would soon be Sonny's problem. Sam couldn't wait to celebrate. As she started to kiss Jason, Spinelli burst through the door to announce, "A victory at last. The Jackal has unearthed the true identity of the Balkan."
