Jonathan Returns #3 April 7 - September 9, 2010: 10 1/2 hour original edit DVD #3A At the Haunted Star, Lucky was curious how the front fender of Ethan's car had been dented. Ethan wasn't certain, but he suspected that he had hit a deer. Lucky recalled when he and Luke had hit a deer. Lucky assured Ethan that it wasn't something that a person wouldn't notice. Lucky urged Ethan to be honest; otherwise Lucky couldn't help his brother. Luke decided to have a look at fender to assess the damage. Lucky informed Luke that an "overzealous rookie" had already arranged to have the car towed to the police station. "Without a warrant?" Ethan demanded. Lucky shrugged; he didn't think that it mattered at that point, since the car was already in the system. Lucky explained that the car would be processed and then released to Ethan if they didn't find any evidence of a hit-and-run. "This is why I hate cops," Luke grumbled. Ethan confessed that he thought that someone had been following him earlier that night. Ethan claimed that he had seen headlights in his rearview mirror. Lucky wasn't surprised, but before he could complete the thought, Lucky's cell phone rang. Luke took the opportunity to ask if Ethan was making up the story. Ethan reminded his father that he couldn't explain to Lucky that he had been selling stolen merchandise to a fence. Luke agreed. Lucky ended the call then turned back to Ethan. Lucky explained that the Bauers were screaming for an arrest. Luke wasn't concerned; he pointed out that there wasn't a case without evidence. Luke suggested that they wait until Kiefer could tell them if he had seen the driver. Lucky revealed that it would never happen because Kiefer had died. Mac called Lucky a short time later to warn Lucky that Warren Bauer had friends in high places. Mac had a senator breathing down his neck. Lucky seemed resigned when Mac revealed that the damage to Ethan's car was consistent with hitting a pedestrian. Lucky ended the call and then arrested Ethan. Luke followed his sons to the police station. 4/8 At the Webber residence, Elizabeth was trying to get ready for work while the boys were running around the living room. Elizabeth was grateful when Steve arrived to take the boys to daycare. Cameron and Jake squealed with delight as they ran into their uncle's waiting arms. Elizabeth appreciated Steve's help. As Steve left with the boys, she promised to catch up with Steve at work. Later, Steve returned to his sister's house to find her napping on the sofa. Elizabeth was stunned when she realized that she had fallen asleep instead of getting ready for work. She immediately blamed it on her pregnancy, but Steve suggested that perhaps she had left Shadybrook too soon. Elizabeth sensed that Steve wanted her to consider returning to Shadybrook. She argued that her boys needed consistency, so she refused to leave them again. Elizabeth pleaded with Steve to show his support by helping her instead of trying to get her to return to the sanitarium. Steve quickly relented and then gave her twenty minutes to get ready for work. 4/12 Ethan went to General Hospital to get treatment for the beating he had suffered in jail. The first person he saw was Kristina, who accused him of running over Kiefer. Ethan lost his temper and started yelling at Kristina because she had falsely accused him for the second time. Maya and Lucky came to her defense. Maya and Lucky told Ethan to leave Kristina alone because she had already suffered enough. Ethan was frustrated. Before he got on the elevator, Ethan told Lucky that he had been accused of two crimes he had not committed and had been beaten up in jail. Ethan said that he had expected some support from his brother. Ethan was very upset with his treatment at the hospital, especially by Lucky. He told Ethan that Kristina was fragile and did not need any further hassle. Ethan was concerned about himself and wondered when the police would stop arresting him every time a crime was committed in Port Charles. Luke pointed out to Ethan that when everyone had been against him, Lucky had been determined to give him the benefit of the doubt and get to the truth. Lucky told Ethan that he had been under orders on the occasions when he had arrested Ethan. But, he told Ethan, he had continued to investigate until Ethan's name had been cleared. He also pointed out that his quick call to Dante had prevented Sonny from carrying out his plans to eliminate Ethan. While on board Haunted Star, Lucky received a call from Mac saying that Alexis had confessed to the hit-and-run that had killed Kiefer. Ethan was relived, but still upset because both Alexis and Kristina had let him be arrested for crimes he did not commit. When Ethan started railing against Kristina, Lucky said that she had suffered horribly and that Ethan should apologize for yelling at her in the hospital. Ethan calmed down immediately and told Lucky that he did owe Kristina an apology. Then he left. After Ethan exited, an irate Luke said that before Ethan apologized to anyone, Kristina, Alexis, Sonny, and the PCPD owed an apology to Ethan. 4/14 Steve was delighted to see that Elizabeth had arrived "bright-eyed and bushy-tailed" for work. He advised her that she would need to be on her toes for her new assignment. Elizabeth grumbled that she would rather return to her regular duties, but Steve insisted that she trust him. Steve handed Elizabeth a file as he informed her that her patient was waiting. Moments later, Elizabeth entered Shirley Smith's hospital room. Shirley was busy making jewelry, which she proudly showed to Elizabeth. Elizabeth was impressed with the unique pieces. Shirley gifted Elizabeth with a necklace, which Elizabeth modeled for Shirley. Shirley hoped that Elizabeth didn't mind. Elizabeth assured Shirley that she was used to it because she had children. Shirley was curious if Elizabeth had daughters. Elizabeth said that she had sons, which prompted Shirley to suggest that the next baby could be a girl. Elizabeth smiled as she absently rubbed her stomach. Shirley was curious if Elizabeth had any hobbies. Elizabeth confided that she loved to paint and had, at one time, considered a career as an artist. Shirley was happy to know that Elizabeth was a kindred spirit. As Shirley talked about plans to open a boutique, Elizabeth glanced down at Shirley's chart. Elizabeth was startled to read that Shirley had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, which had spread to Shirley's lungs, lymph nodes, and brain. Shirley's prognosis was bleak; she had eight to twelve weeks left to live. Shirley announced that she intended to go to Naples after her last chemotherapy treatment. Elizabeth confessed that she loved Italy and had hoped to go there for her honeymoon one day, but it hadn't worked out. Shirley admitted that dying made a person plan things differently. Shirley sensed that Elizabeth was uncomfortable with the way that Shirley talked about death; she suggested that Elizabeth not believe everything that she read. Shirley had a lot more than three months of living to do. Steve spotted Elizabeth as she approached the nurses' station. He was curious how things had gone with Mrs. Smith. Elizabeth conceded that Steve had been right; Shirley was exactly what Elizabeth had needed. Nikolas stopped by Lucky's new apartment to discuss Kristina's assault and Alexis' hit-and-run charges. Lucky warned Nikolas that the Bauers were out to get Alexis while rewriting history in the process. Lucky explained that the Bauers refused to believe that Kiefer had attacked Kristina. Nikolas appreciated his brother's insight. Lucky admitted that he was concerned that Kristina would be vulnerable, especially while Alexis dealt with the legal ramifications of the hit-and-run. Later, Lucky was walking along a street when he spotted a discarded standing lamp that had been put on the curb. Maxie sprinted across the street as she ordered Lucky not to touch the lamp, but Lucky refused to relinquish the lamp to Maxie. Maxie and Lucky argued about who would get the lamp, but neither was willing to relent. Eventually, Maxie suggested that the lamp represented a new start for Lucky because of his recent breakup with Elizabeth. Maxie confessed that she felt partly responsible for Lucky and Elizabeth's failed relationship. According to Maxie, if Lucky hadn't had an affair with Maxie then Lucky and Elizabeth would never have split up in the first place. Lucky pointed out that perhaps he and Elizabeth simply weren't meant to be together. Lucky swiftly changed the subject to offer a compromise. He suggested that they return to his apartment, so that Lucky could show Maxie where he intended to put the lamp. If Maxie didn't agree that it was the perfect spot, then she could have the lamp. Lucky and Maxie arrived at the apartment a short time later. Maxie was surprised to realize that it was Patrick's old apartment. Lucky showed Maxie where he wanted to put the lamp, but Maxie objected. She decided that she should be put in charge of the lamp's placement, since it was clear that Lucky didn't have any intention of giving it to her. Lucky obliged Maxie, but found himself growing frustrated a short time later when Maxie kept changing her mind about where it belonged. As they debated the best spot for the lamp, someone knocked on the door. It was Elizabeth. 4/15 Elizabeth was surprised when Maxie opened the door to Lucky's new apartment. She hadn't realized that Maxie was there. Maxie snidely suggested that next time Elizabeth should try calling. Elizabeth acknowledged that Maxie was right; however, she had a permission slip that she needed Lucky to sign. Elizabeth casually commented about the apartment while Lucky glanced at the permission slip. He let Elizabeth know that there was a small bedroom for Cam and Jake, so it met all of his need. Maxie piped up to announce that she had been helping Lucky to decorate. Elizabeth was curious if Lucky had asked for Maxie's help. Maxie wondered how it was any of Elizabeth's business. Lucky remained silent, so Elizabeth decided to leave. Lucky quickly revealed that Maxie had only stopped by to help him find a place for the lamp, but the tension remained thick between Maxie and Elizabeth. Maxie bristled when Elizabeth wondered if Spinelli knew that Maxie was helping Lucky. Maxie decided to clear the air by admitting that she had taken full responsibility for her affair with Lucky. Maxie was curious what Elizabeth's excuse for "nailing" Lucky's brother had been. "That's enough," Lucky warned Maxie, but Elizabeth decided to leave. Lucky appreciated that Maxie had defended him, but he insisted that he didn't need her help. Maxie believed that Lucky needed her to force him to face reality; Elizabeth wouldn't give up on Lucky. Lucky preferred to deal with it on his own. Maxie warned Lucky that Elizabeth would use the children and her pregnancy to manipulate and take advantage of him. Lucky didn't think that Maxie should worry because he knew exactly what Elizabeth was doing. As Maxie prepared to leave, she offered to be available if Lucky needed more help with Elizabeth. Lucky explained that Elizabeth was looking for redemption; he wasn't interested in punishing her any more. Maxie reminded him that Elizabeth wouldn't give up. Shirley was delighted when Elizabeth entered the hospital room. She was curious where Elizabeth had been. Elizabeth told Shirley about her visit to Lucky's apartment and the encounter that Elizabeth had with a "blonde slut." Elizabeth realized that she didn't have any room to talk because she was pregnant with her ex-husband's brother's baby. Shirley told Elizabeth that there was a difference between a slut and someone who had made a mistake of the heart. Elizabeth appreciated Shirley's kindness. Elizabeth admitted that she was frustrated because the blonde felt the need to always rub Elizabeth's face in every mistake that Elizabeth had ever made while the blonde was hitting on Elizabeth's ex-husband. Shirley pointed out that things could be worse; Elizabeth could be dying. Elizabeth quickly apologized for complaining about her problems, but added that Shirley might not be dying. Elizabeth pointed out that Shirley had beat breast cancer before. Shirley was more interested in hearing about Elizabeth. She wondered how long Elizabeth had been married. Elizabeth explained that she had married Lucky twice because it had always felt like she and Lucky had belonged together. Shirley offered Elizabeth advice, "Feel what you feel and own it. Whatever you do, don't give up the fight." Elizabeth felt bad for dumping her problems on Shirley, but Shirley didn't mind. She was determined to have as much fun as she could, even if a miracle were to occur. 4/15 Elizabeth was surprised when Maxie opened the door to Lucky's new apartment. She hadn't realized that Maxie was there. Maxie snidely suggested that next time Elizabeth should try calling. She was determined to have as much fun as she could, even if a miracle were to occur. 4/20 At the police station, Lucky entered the squad room just as one of the officer's held Sam back from attacking Warren again. Warren noted that violence appeared to run in Alexis' family. Lucky tried to defuse the situation, but Warren accused Lucky, Sam, and Alexis of obstructing justice. According to Warren, Lucky had taken steps to frame Kiefer, in order to cover up that Ethan had assaulted Kristina. Warren refused to allow Kiefer to be a scapegoat. Lucky offered to show Warren the witness statements, but Warren wasn't interested; he made it clear that he would not allow Alexis to get away with killing his son. Later, Lucky warned Ethan and Luke that Warren Bauer had demanded a second investigation into Kristina's allegations. Lucky explained that Warren had accused Lucky and Dante of covering up the truth to protect Ethan. Ethan was outraged that he remained a suspect in Kristina's attack even though Kristina had named Kiefer as the culprit. Lucky had more bad news; the DNA evidence pointed to Ethan as Kristina's assailant, not Kiefer. 4/21 On the Haunted Star, Lucky advised Luke to make certain that Ethan didn't leave town because Warren Bauer already had plenty of ammunition to use against Ethan. Luke suggested that Lucky could help Ethan, but it would require Lucky to forget that he was a police officer for a few hours. Lucky was under investigation, so he declined Luke's offer. However, Lucky insisted that Ethan should keep a low profile. At the hospital, Nikolas decided to check on Elizabeth after he finished a board meeting. He was surprised that she was working in the oncology department. Elizabeth confessed that it had given her a new outlook on life. Nikolas and Elizabeth reminisced about Emily, who had often volunteered in the oncology department following her battle with breast cancer. Their somber mood lightened when they heard loud music drift into the room. They found Shirley giving Patrick rumba lessons in the hallway. Patrick appreciated Shirley's dancing tips; he hoped to use them on Robin later that evening. After Patrick left, Elizabeth introduced Nikolas to Shirley. Moments after Nikolas, Elizabeth, and Shirley returned to Shirley's hospital room, Matt entered. Matt had a bright yellow feathered boa that he handed to Shirley. Shirley wrapped the boa around Matt's neck and then inquired if he was ready for another lesson. 4/22 Looking for Elizabeth, Lucky entered the chemotherapy treatment room. Shirley immediately spotted Lucky's badge and gun, so she realized that he was a cop. Shirley correctly guessed that Lucky was Elizabeth's ex-husband. Elizabeth was surprised to see Lucky when she entered moments later. Elizabeth smiled when Shirley handed her a necklace to try on. Shirley shrewdly studied Lucky as she observed that jewelry didn't have to be genuine as long as the woman wearing the jewelry was. Lucky seemed to understand Shirley's unspoken message. He confessed that his father had always advised him never to comment on a woman's appearance except to give her a compliment. Shirley chuckled as she guessed that Lucky's father was either a player or a wise man. Lucky admitted that Luke was both. Shirley was curious what type of man Lucky was. Lucky confided that he was neither a player nor a wise man; he then turned the question on Shirley. Shirley confessed that she was no longer a player. According to Shirley, a person became a "flipping oracle" the moment that they were diagnosed with a terminal illness. Elizabeth pointed out that Shirley's prognosis could be wrong. Elizabeth then followed Lucky into the hallway to find out why he had stopped by. Lucky admitted that Shirley didn't seem sick. Elizabeth agreed; she thought that Shirley had a wonderful attitude that could lead to a remission. Lucky handed Elizabeth a signed permission slip for Cam's field trip. Elizabeth thanked Lucky and then asked if he could take the boys on Saturday because she had been invited to Shirley's house. Lucky readily agreed. However, he noted that he had never seen Elizabeth connect with one of her patients the way that she had with Shirley. Elizabeth confided that she had felt an instant bond with Shirley. Shirley was special; she had helped Elizabeth to see things in a different light. Later, Helena approached Elizabeth in the hallway. Helena claimed to be concerned about Elizabeth's health, so she didn't think it was wise for Elizabeth to work during her pregnancy. Elizabeth promised to do the exact opposite of what Helena advised. Helena wasn't pleased with Elizabeth's attitude. She accused Elizabeth of being a narcissistic slut who craved attention from men. Helena was certain that Elizabeth would use the baby to manipulate Lucky and Nikolas. When he walked up, Lucky warned Helena to leave Elizabeth alone. Helena smiled as she noted that Lucky had proven her point. Helena couldn't resist taunting Lucky about the baby before she walked away. Helena suggested that Luke shouldn’t expect her to "extricate" Elizabeth from Lucky's life all by herself. She had hoped that Luke would appreciate her efforts to spare Lucky any additional hurt from Elizabeth. Luke laughed; he didn't believe that Helena was concerned about Lucky. Helena admitted that she wanted Elizabeth's baby to be raised as a Cassadine by Cassadines. Helena believed that Elizabeth would continue to cling to the hope for reconciliation as long as Lucky remained in the picture. Luke wondered what Helena was really up to. Helena resented Luke's laughter, so she left. Luke's smile quickly faded. 4/26 Lucky stopped by the apartment after Dante called him. Dante told Lucky that forensic evidence confirmed that Michael, not Sonny, had killed Claudia. He told Lucky about his conversation with Sonny and how Sonny had begged him to keep Michael safe. Elizabeth worked the Oncology ward and asked Steve to take a look at Shirley's numbers. She was convinced that Shirley was better off than her numbers made it appear. Elizabeth also appealed to Maya for help. Later when Elizabeth tried to get encouragement for Shirley's condition from Steve, he was paged away before he could give her the hard truth. She also tried to get Maya to say that Shirley was improving, but Maya pointed out that Shirley was at stage four and the prognosis was not good. Elizabeth was still convinced that a positive attitude would save Shirley. 4/27 At the hospital, Elizabeth and her sons paid Shirley a visit. Shirley was delighted to meet Elizabeth's children. Steve watched from the doorway as the boys settled down to draw a picture for Shirley. A few minutes later, Steve asked to speak to Elizabeth alone. In the hallway, Steve advised Elizabeth to keep the visit short because it could be too taxing on Shirley. Elizabeth argued that Shirley obviously enjoyed spending time with the children. Steve and Elizabeth looked in on Shirley and the boys just as Cam asked if Shirley was dying. Elizabeth rushed in to divert Cam's attention, but Shirley decided to answer the question. Shirley admitted that no one knew how long they would live; they just knew that it wouldn't be forever, unless they were a vampire. Cam, Elizabeth, and Steven chuckled. After Elizabeth packed up the boys and left, Steve decided to discuss Shirley's test results. Shirley understood that she was terminal, so it hadn't been necessary for Steve to give Elizabeth "meaningful poor Shirley" looks. Steve was embarrassed that Shirley had noticed. He immediately apologized for his nephews wearing her out. "Who says?" Shirley asked. She clarified that she loved children. Shirley pointed out that they were all dying, so she suggested that Steve try to enjoy himself because it was later than he realized. At the nurses' station, Steve tried to caution Elizabeth against getting too attached to Shirley because it would be harder to let go when Shirley died. Steve thought it was important for Elizabeth to accept that some people could not be saved. A short time later, Elizabeth returned to check on Shirley. Shirley thanked Elizabeth for introducing her to the children. Shirley had enjoyed the visit. Shirley admitted that she had been especially taken with Cam. Elizabeth smiled as she confessed that Cam was just like his father. Elizabeth explained that Lucky wasn't Cam's biological father, but he had raised Cam since Cam had been a baby, so they were exactly alike. Elizabeth believed that Lucky was a wonderful father; she wished that the new baby could benefit from Lucky's parenting. 4/28 Steve was surprised when he bumped into Elizabeth and his nephews at the nurses' station. Elizabeth explained that she was there to pick up Shirley because they intended to go to the park together. Elizabeth questioned Steve's sudden look of concern. Steve assured Elizabeth that nothing happened to Shirley, but he reminded her that Shirley was terminally ill. Steve worried that an outing to the park would be too taxing on Shirley. Later, Shirley, Elizabeth, and the boys arrived at park. Shirley and Elizabeth settled on a bench while Cam and Jake played on the swings. Shirley confessed that she enjoyed the park and being outdoors. Shirley recalled that her first husband, Leonard, had been allergic to everything; the only reason their marriage had lasted five years was because he had been good in bed. Elizabeth chuckled and then confessed that her baby had the wrong father. Shirley pointed out that there were some women who would be happy just to have a baby. Elizabeth and Shirley looked up when they heard approaching footsteps. Spencer ran up to ask Elizabeth how the baby was doing. "Great," Elizabeth answered before she turned to introduce Spencer to Shirley. Elizabeth confessed that she couldn't remember all of Spencer's middle names. Nikolas joined them in time to formally introduce his son as "Spencer Stefan Nikolossovich Cassadine," but clarified that his son preferred to be called Spencer. After Spencer dashed off to join his cousins, Shirley admitted that they had been talking about Nikolas. 4/30 At the police station, Lucky talked to Cameron on the phone and made plans to go to a father-son picnic with him. Mac entered and asked Lucky where he thought Michael Corinthos might be. Lucky told Mac that he didn't want to get involved since Michael was his cousin. Mac insisted that Michael still had to be brought in and told Lucky that he preferred to make the situation easy on Michael. Lucky agreed to find Michael. Lucky found Michael at the boathouse. Lucky told Michael that he had to take him in, but he asked Michael to do something for him first. Lucky asked Michael to tell him what really happened that night Claudia died. Michael told Lucky how Jax brought him home, then Jax and Sonny got into a fight. Michael regretted not coming forward once he learned that Claudia was the one responsible for shooting him. Michael told Lucky that he decided to take off, got into his a car and headed for the Canadian border. Michael then told Lucky how he found the car Claudia took off in with Carly. He explained his fear for his mother's high-risk pregnancy. Michael then described that his main motive for hitting Claudia was to prevent Claudia from taking his baby sister. Michael insisted that he didn't mean to kill Claudia. Michael proceeded to tell Lucky how he just followed Jason's instructions for the cover up. Lucky realized that Jason initiated the cover up out of that fear. Michael revealed that Sonny was proud of Michael for killing Claudia. Lucky was sorry that
Michael was going through such a struggle. Michael maintained that his
parents and Jason only wanted to protect him, but that he had to own up to
Claudia's murder. Lucky knew he had to turn Michael in but told Michael
that it was up to Michael if he chose to confess. Michael appreciated
Lucky for giving him the choice, but he decided that it was time to come
forward with the truth. Jason found Lucky and Michael at the boathouse.
Jason asked Lucky to step aside so he could take Michael. Lucky pulled out
a gun on Jason. Lucky insisted that Michael been given the choice to
confess. Jason told them that Dante had already told everyone that Michael
killed Claudia.
5/3 Jason found Michael at the boathouse with Lucky. Jason tried to
take Michael away with him, but Lucky refused to let him and held him off
at gunpoint. Lucky said that he could not let Michael go because Michael
had confessed. Lucky said that he was obligated to take Michael in. Jason
said that Dante had already told the court that Michael was Claudia's
killer and that he had to get Michael out of the country. Despite Jason's
pleas for Lucky to look away and let him leave with Michael, Lucky did not
relent. He agreed to keep silent about Michael's confession, but took
Michael away to the Port Charles Police Station after Jason told Michael
to keep silent until he saw a lawyer. Diane was waiting when Lucky arrived at the station with Michael. Mac
would not let her speak to Michael when he found out that Lucky had
neither arrested nor read Michael his Miranda rights. Mac insisted on
arresting, booking, and processing Michael before allowing Diane access to
him. The judge called Lucky to his office and questioned him closely. He
wanted to know why he had not read Michael his Miranda rights. Lucky said
that he had been asked to locate Michael because he knew Michael and he
knew the areas where the boy might hide. Lucky said that he did not know
that an arrest warrant had been issued for Michael. The judge asked about
Lucky's relationship to Michael, and Lucky replied that Michael was his
cousin. Lucky was respectful and truthful with the judge. When the judge
asked if Lucky loved Michael, Lucky said that they were not close but that
he loved him. Judge Carroll also asked Lucky if he thought Michael was
capable of deliberate violence. Lucky said that Michael had already
suffered more than most people did in a lifetime. Lucky told the judge
that if anyone deserved mercy it was Michael. 5/6 Lucky revealed that Maxie had called in a "potential
suicide" because she was desperate to find Lulu. Lulu was livid.
After she stormed off to get dressed, Lucky warned Dante to treat Lulu
well. Lucky didn't want to see his sister hurt. Dante promised that he
would take good care of Lulu. At the hospital, Helena ordered Elizabeth to take a leave of absence
from the hospital until after the baby's birth. Elizabeth told Helena
leave her alone. Before Helena could respond, Lucky suddenly approached
them. He warned Helena to back off. Helena informed Lucky that she had
been having a private conversation with the mother of her grandchild, so
it was none of Lucky's business. Elizabeth made it clear that she didn't
have anything to discuss with Helena, so if Helena continued to harass her
then Elizabeth would press charges against Helena for stalking. After
Elizabeth walked away, Lucky confessed that he relished the idea of
arresting Helena for stalking. Unlike Luke, Lucky didn't find Helena
amusing, so he would enjoy tossing her in jail. Helena confided that she
felt invigorated by the idea of Lucky stirring up another
Spencer/Cassadine feud. "Bring it on," she goaded before she
walked away. Elizabeth was working at the nurses' station when she noticed that
Shirley had been admitted. Epiphany explained that a neighbor had found
Shirley collapsed on the ground. They determined that Shirley had a fever
after she was rushed to the hospital. Elizabeth asked to take her break
early, so that she could visit Shirley. Epiphany agreed, but she reminded
Elizabeth that Shirley's system was beginning to shut down because of the
breast cancer. Elizabeth entered Shirley's hospital room. Shirley was
delighted to see her friend, but she tried to downplay her illness.
Shirley claimed that the neighbor's kitten had startled her, which had
caused Shirley to faint. Elizabeth checked the chart and then pointed out
that Shirley had a high fever. Shirley attributed it to a hot flash, but
Elizabeth refused to allow Shirley to brush it off. Elizabeth explained
that Shirley had a liver infection. Shirley didn't want to discuss her health, so she asked what was new
with Elizabeth's love life. Elizabeth didn't want to tire Shirley out, but
Shirley wanted Elizabeth to humor a "sick old lady." Elizabeth
chuckled as she pointed out that Shirley only referred to herself in those
terms when it suited her. However, Elizabeth capitulated by telling
Shirley about her encounter with Helena. Shirley was fascinated to learn
that Nikolas was a prince. Elizabeth explained that Helena was a hateful
woman who was obsessed with preserving the Cassadine legacy. Shirley was
surprised when Elizabeth revealed that Lucky had intervened on Elizabeth's
behalf. Elizabeth confessed that she loved that Lucky's first instinct had
been to protect her. Helena warned Nikolas that Lucky was "reverting to type."
According to Helena, Lucky had swooped in, in full-blown protection mode,
to defend Elizabeth when Helena tried to have an innocent chat with her.
Helena predicted that Nikolas would be cut out of the baby's life if he
didn't intercede immediately. Nikolas warned Helena to stay away from
Elizabeth because she didn't need the stress of trying to deal with
Helena. Helena suggested that Lucky was hovering around Elizabeth, so it
was only a matter of time before Lucky and Elizabeth reconciled. Later, Lucky arrived at Wyndemere to demand that Nikolas send Helena
packing. Nikolas resented Lucky barging into his home and barking orders.
Nikolas insisted that it was a family matter. He reminded Lucky that it
had been Lucky's decision that they were no longer family. Nikolas
realized that he wasn't obligated to explain anything to Lucky; however,
he revealed that the reason Helena remained in Port Charles was because
Nikolas could keep a closer eye on her. Lucky was worried that Elizabeth
was too fragile to handle Helena. Nikolas was curious why Lucky was so
interested in Elizabeth's affairs. Lucky insisted that it was over between
him and Elizabeth, but he refused to allow Helena to harass her. Lucky
suggested that if Nikolas truly cared about Elizabeth then he would feel
the same way. Helena met with her manservant, Thor. As they sat at the bar, Thor
revealed that the police didn't suspect any foul play in the lab
technician's death. Helena was relieved that there wouldn't be an
investigation. She was confident that no one would ever learn that the
child that Elizabeth was carrying was a Spencer. Tracy happened to
overhear Helena mention the Spencer name, and questioned her about it.
Helena claimed that she had been telling Thor that Elizabeth's baby had
almost turned out to be a "peasant." Tracy pointed out that
Nikolas already had a Cassadine heir, so she wondered why Helena was so
interested in Elizabeth's baby. 5/7 Lucky arrived to see Lulu. Maxie informed Lucky that Lulu had
bolted to the courthouse to be with Dante. Lucky believed that the judge
would be lenient on Michael, but Maxie thought there was a good chance
that the judge would give Michael a harsher sentence. As Maxie babbled on
about Lulu and Dante, Maxie mentioned how Lulu, in the first stages of
love, would never think of hooking up with anyone else. Maxie quickly
mentioned that she wasn't referring to Lucky and Elizabeth. Lucky told
Maxie that he and Elizabeth were over. Maxie believed that Elizabeth had
trampled over Lucky's heart. Lucky said it was liberating to finally let
go of the dream of him and Elizabeth together. Maxie empathized, saying
that those who'd had their hearts trampled on lived to fight another day.
Lucky liked that sentiment. At the hospital, Elizabeth visited Shirley. Shirley noticed Elizabeth's
happy mood. Elizabeth admitted that she was happy that Lucky defended her
against Helena because it proved Lucky still cared about her. Shirley
worried that Elizabeth was having unrealistic expectations regarding
Lucky, but Elizabeth really believed there was still hope for her and
Lucky. Shirley recalled that Elizabeth had once said there was no hope for
Lucky and her to reunite. Elizabeth insisted that she felt a connection
with Lucky after what happened with Helena. Shirley wondered where the
baby's father, Nikolas, fit into the picture. At the Metro Court, Helena mentioned to Tracy that Spencer wasn't
really Cassadine material as the son of a stripper and nephew of a
criminal. Tracy reminded Helena that she once kidnapped Spencer, but
Helena insisted that she would be happy to raise both of her grandson's
children as proper Cassadines. Helena declared that she was simply looking
out for her own family, much like Tracy needed to look out for Luke.
Helena boasted about her dark bond with Luke. Tracy warned Helena to stay
away from Luke, and she exited. Helena announced that she couldn't afford
to have Tracy discover that Elizabeth was really pregnant with Lucky's
child, not Nikolas'. 5/10 Lulu went to Lucky and asked to see Carly. Lulu was sure that
Jason intended to kill Dante, and Lulu wanted to ask Carly to stop him.
Lucky said it was not the best time to talk to Carly and then sent Lulu
away. Mac gave Lucky cuffs and told him it was time to prepare Michael for
the prison van. Carly, Morgan, Molly, and Kristina were heartbroken as
they watched Michael being cuffed and each bade him a tearful goodbye. 5/11 At Jake's, Lucky sat down at the bar. Coleman sensed that Lucky
was troubled. Lucky admitted that he was bothered by the way things had
turned out for his cousin, Michael. Coleman agreed that Michael had been
unfairly sentenced. Coleman seemed surprised when Lucky ordered a scotch.
He hesitated for a moment, but then poured Lucky the drink. Maxie entered Jake's in time to see Lucky ponder the glass of scotch.
She wondered if it were a good idea for Lucky to drink the alcohol. Maxie
sat down next to Lucky as she admitted that she wasn't in a position to
preach, but she wanted Lucky to consider what he could lose if he drank.
Lucky snapped that it wasn't any of Maxie's business, but she forged ahead
anyway. She pointed out that he had seemed committed to his sobriety until
Elizabeth and Nikolas had an affair. Lucky didn't appreciate the reminder.
Maxie apologized and then questioned why Lucky was tempted to drink again.
Lucky admitted that he feared that he had turned into the man that his
father had warned him about. Lucky considered himself a mindless,
rule-following, self-righteous drone. Lucky then opened up about his
frustration over Michael's sentencing. Maxie argued that they had been bit-players in Michael's tragedy;
Sonny, Carly, and Jason were responsible for what had happened to Michael.
Maxie didn't think that Lucky should blame his drinking on Michael's
problems. Lucky confessed that he appreciated Maxie's candor. Maxie smiled
and then invited Lucky to a game of pool. As Maxie walked away, Lucky's
cell phone rang. It was Elizabeth. Elizabeth knew that Lucky wasn't
working, so she had hoped that he would meet her and the boys at Kelly's
for dinner. Lucky declined the invitation, but before he could end the
call, Elizabeth heard Maxie in the background. Lucky confirmed that he was
with Maxie at Jake's. A short time later, Elizabeth showed up at Jake's.
When she spotted Maxie and Lucky together, she assumed that Lucky had been
drinking. Elizabeth began to berate Maxie for jeopardizing Lucky's
sobriety, but Lucky quickly set Elizabeth straight. Maxie took delight in Elizabeth's embarrassment when Lucky clarified
that he had been drinking root beer, not beer. He also credited Maxie with
stopping him from indulging in some scotch earlier in the evening.
Elizabeth questioned if it were a good idea for Lucky to be hanging out at
a bar with his ex-drug dealer. Maxie didn't think that Elizabeth had any
room to judge her when Elizabeth had been the one to bed-hop without the
benefit of birth control. Elizabeth shot back that she hadn't resorted to
faking a pregnancy, like Maxie had with Lucky. Lucky intervened before
things became too heated. He suggested that he and Elizabeth not monitor
each other's lives so closely. Elizabeth agreed and then warned Lucky not
to race to her rescue the next time that Helena bothered her. Lucky
insisted that Helena was a completely different situation. Elizabeth was
pregnant with a Cassadine heir, so she didn't think that Helena would harm
her. Lucky vehemently disagreed; he was adamant that Elizabeth let him
know if Helena continued to harass her. Elizabeth marched off without
further comment, but stopped in the doorway to look back at Lucky, who had
resumed playing pool with Maxie. 5/13 At the hospital, Shirley tried to strike up a conversation with
Helena by complimenting Helena's jewelry. Helena tried to brush her off,
but Shirley revealed that she was a jewelry designer. She invited Helena
to view some of her pieces of jewelry, but Helena wasn't interested in an
"art project" that Shirley had made in recreational therapy.
Elizabeth was furious when she spotted Helena talking to Shirley.
Elizabeth ordered Helena to leave Shirley alone. Steve walked up moments
later. Helena claimed that she had been minding her own business when
Shirley had accosted her to hawk her wares. Helena pretended to be
concerned about Elizabeth's mental wellness, so she suggested that they
consider having Elizabeth readmitted to Shadybrook. Helena was certain
that they could find a sedative that would keep Elizabeth calm without
harming the baby. Elizabeth hustled Shirley away while Steve dealt with
Helena. Steve made it clear that he was tired of Helena harassing
Elizabeth and the patients. He gave Helena the opportunity to leave on her
own or he would arrange for security to escort Helena out. Helena walked
away. Later, Nikolas approached the nurses' station. Steve had called Nikolas
because Helena had been roaming the hallways untethered and causing
trouble. Nikolas was curious if Helena had physically harmed anyone. Steve
admitted that she hadn't, but he still considered her to be a menace.
Nikolas suggested that the real reason that Steve was angry was because he
wasn't happy that Nikolas was the father of Elizabeth's baby. Steve
insisted that it wasn't personal; he didn't want Nikolas' family issues
interfering with the operation of the hospital. Nikolas resented Steve's
condescending tone. He promised to make sure Steve went before the board
the next time that Steve addressed him in a similar manner. Helena lurked nearby, smiling. After Steve walked away, Helena
approached Nikolas to thank him for defending her. Nikolas explained that
he had put Steve in his place because of Steve's tone, not because he had
approved of Helena's behavior. Nikolas warned Helena to leave Elizabeth
alone. Helena attributed Elizabeth's reaction to histrionics designed to
attract male attention. Helena cautioned Nikolas to be careful or else
Elizabeth would manipulate his child right out of his life. Once they were
away from Helena, Elizabeth let Shirley know that the woman Shirley had
been talking to was Helena. Elizabeth insisted that Helena was extremely
dangerous. Shirley admitted that she had known Helena's identity when she
had approached her. Shirley confessed that she had been curious about
Helena, so she had decided to get an "up close" view of her.
Elizabeth warned Shirley to stay away from Helena, but Shirley didn't
think that Helena posed much of a threat to a terminally ill woman. Shirley was in high spirits when she returned to her hospital room.
Elizabeth had found a perfect spot for Shirley to set up a table to sell
jewelry. Elizabeth didn't want Shirley to be disappointed if there weren't
many who appreciated Shirley's unique pieces. Shirley wasn't afraid of
failing; she would just pick up the pieces, dust herself off, and then
find something else to do. Elizabeth decided to follow Shirley's lead by
making another attempt to work things out with Lucky. Later, Elizabeth approached the nurses' station, where Nikolas was
waiting. Nikolas explained that he had asked to see Elizabeth because he
wanted to hear from her what had happened with Helena. Elizabeth accused
Helena of harassing Shirley. She urged Nikolas to ship Helena off. Nikolas
suggested that perhaps Elizabeth was overreacting. Elizabeth was
incredulous; she reminded Nikolas that Helena had once kidnapped Lucky.
Nikolas wondered if Elizabeth hoped that the perceived threat from Helena
would gain Lucky's attention. Elizabeth glared at Nikolas and then
informed him that she already had Lucky's attention. She added that,
unlike Nikolas, Lucky viewed Helena as a serious problem. She made it
clear that Lucky was unwilling to allow Helena to stalk her and the baby.
Nikolas insisted that he would deal with Helena how he saw fit. Elizabeth
warned Nikolas that she intended to raise the baby to appreciate the
danger that the Cassadines represented. Nikolas didn't appreciate
Elizabeth using Cassadine history to shut him out of his child's life.
Nikolas didn't want to fight Elizabeth, but he would if it became
necessary. Helena hovered nearby, pleased that everything was unfolding
according to her plan. Helena's smile slipped when Thor joined her to let
her know that Tracy had been asking questions about the recently deceased
lab technician. 5/14 At the police station, Lucky and Dante were frustrated that they
weren't able to find any loopholes in Michael's confession. Lucky remained
determined to get Michael out of prison. Lucky and Dante combed Michael's
files for anything that might help their cause. Judge Carroll arrived. The
judge deduced that Lucky and Dante were trying to free Michael. Judge
Carroll assured Dante that Dante did the right thing, unlike Lucky, who
didn't follow the letter of the law. Dante asked Judge Carroll to reverse
the sentence on Michael, but Judge Carroll refused, believing that prison
would be Michael's best chance to get away from a life of crime. After
Judge Carroll left, Lucky proposed that they uncover Judge Carroll's dirty
secrets in order to make the judge reconsider Michael's sentence. Jason arrived at the station to see Lucky. Lucky apologized to Jason
for not letting Jason take Michael out of the country. Jason assured Lucky
that Lucky wasn't to blame since the entire situation was Dante's fault.
Lucky learned that Jason was going to prison. Lulu arrived and heard from
Dante that Jason was talking to Lucky. Lulu believed that Jason was trying
to turn Lucky against Dante. Jason informed Lucky of his plan to protect
Michael in prison. Lucky believed that the plan to blackmail Judge Carroll
was going work, but Jason believed Michael needed protection as soon as
possible. Jason thanked Lucky for being a good father to Jake. Lulu told
Jason that Carly swore that Dante was safe from Jason. Before Jason left,
Jason accused Lulu of choosing Dante over the people that loved her. Dante
wanted to go after Jason for maligning Lulu, but Lucky stunned Dante with
the news of Jason's plan. 5/17 Lucky stopped by to see Luke, who asked for an opinion about
Dante. Lucky said that he liked Dante and would bet that he was one of the
good guys. Luke worried that Dante would hurt Lulu. Lucky wanted to know
if Luke was thinking about how Elizabeth had hurt him. Luke denied it.
Lucky said that his relationship with Elizabeth was over. He told Luke
that if he could have a relationship with Cam and Jake that did not
include Elizabeth, he would be happy. He told Luke that he had let
Elizabeth go. Elizabeth went to Spoon Island to see Nikolas. She told him that she
did not like the way that they had left things. She said that she was very
fearful of Helena and even though he could handle Helena, she could not.
He accused Elizabeth of using Helena as a smokescreen so that she could
get closer to Lucky. Elizabeth blurted out that she did not want her child
to be raised as a Cassadine. He asked if she was implying that he should
give up his rights to the child. Elizabeth then wondered why he was trying
to be a parent when he had been such a poor father to Spencer so far.
Nikolas acknowledged that he had not had a good beginning as a parent, but
said he intended to do better. He told Elizabeth that he was going to be
part of their child's life and she should be prepared to accept it. He
told her that he would not be pushed out of his child's life because
Elizabeth had realized too late that she was still in love with Lucky and
that it would be inconvenient for Nikolas to be around. 5/18 Lucky was disappointed when he discovered that the boyfriend of
the twenty-year-old had threatened to kill the girl's family and that a
witnessed had corroborated the threat. Lucky explained that Judge Carroll
had not acted inappropriately after all. Dante was frustrated because he
believed that the judge had been wrong to send Michael to Pentonville.
Lucky was mad because he had done everything by the book, but it hadn't
helped Michael. Dante wondered if Lucky were suggesting that he
manufacture evidence against the judge. Lucky was curious how badly Dante
wanted Michael to be released. Dante thought about it for a minute and
then confessed that he refused to frame an innocent person for a crime,
even if it helped Michael. Lucky had no idea what to do next. Claire went to the park, where she bumped into Lucky, who had taken the
boys there. Claire's eyes were riveted on Jake and Cam as they played on
the swings. Lucky noticed her staring at his sons. He wondered if she was
okay. Claire cryptically admitted that she wouldn't be okay for the next
few months or possibly a year. "They never know with these
things," Claire added. Claire then changed the subject to ask if the
boys were his children. "Yes," Lucky proudly told her. Claire confessed that the boys
were cute, especially Jake. "I want one," Claire admitted. Lucky
seemed startled by the comment. Claire seemed oblivious as she rambled
about how much she loved being a lawyer and how smart and competitive she
was. However, she confessed that after work, she went home, had a glass of
wine, and then thought about babies. Claire revealed that she was
desperate to have a child. She insisted that she was great with children
and had been the best babysitter in the neighborhood. Claire confessed
that her biological clock was ticking loudly. Lucky admitted that he could
hear it. Claire noticed that very few men were in the park with their
children. She believed that it was because most men viewed fatherhood as
an obligation. Lucky turned serious as he revealed that being a father was
the only thing that truly mattered to him. Lucky believed that nothing was
more important than what kind of father he was. Claire was awed. "Are
there any more like you at home?" she wondered. 5/19 In the park, Claire opened up to Lucky about her desire to be a
mother. She confessed that she became teary-eyed every year when the saw
the children dressed up for the Christmas pageant. Lucky confessed that
Cam had been a shepherd in the last pageant and that he had taken
countless pictures of his son. Claire was impressed by what a kind man and
devoted father Lucky was. He was exactly the kind of man that women hoped
to find. Claire was embarrassed when she realized how that had sounded.
She quickly assured him that it hadn't been a "come-on." Lucky
chuckled as he agreed to take it as a compliment. The conversation took a
serious turn when Claire asked Lucky about his wife. Lucky admitted that
he was divorced. Claire sensed that there might still be something between
Lucky and his ex-wife. Lucky confided that he and Elizabeth had a long history that had
started in high school. He explained that they had split up and then
gotten back together several times until he had finally broken the cycle.
Claire was curious what had led to the divorce. Lucky revealed that
Elizabeth had an affair with his brother. Claire was stunned that Lucky
didn't seem bitter. Lucky admitted that he had been angry and
self-destructive in the beginning, but eventually he had realized that he
had too much to lose. Claire asked if Lucky and Elizabeth shared custody
of the kids. Lucky assured Claire that Elizabeth was a very good mother;
they had both made plenty of mistakes. It was his brother whom he couldn't
forgive. Lucky realized how much he had revealed about himself. He
apologized for unloading his drama on her. Claire reminded him that she'd
had her own meltdown, so she considered them more than even. She thanked
Lucky for listening and then asked him to call her if he ever decided to
have more children. Lucky's surprise turned to amusement when Claire
nearly stumbled over a discarded toy as she dashed off. As he approached his brother on a street corner, Lucky wondered why
Nikolas had called. Nikolas explained that he needed Lucky's help, but
Lucky didn't know why he should do anything for Nikolas. "Oh I don't
know Lucky, maybe to stop round 357 of the Spencer vs. Cassadine war from
flaring up," Nikolas suggested. Nikolas explained that Helena had
vanished without a trace. "Good riddance," Lucky responded.
Nikolas didn't think it was a good sign when Helena disappeared without a
trace, especially when Luke was involved. Lucky didn't know why Nikolas
was worried, since Nikolas was one of the few people that Helena had a
genuine fondness for. Nikolas reminded Lucky of Spencer and the new baby;
Nikolas didn't want to take any chances with their lives. Nikolas was
certain that Helena was plotting something, but he didn't know what. Lucky
agreed to mention it to Luke the next time that he saw his father.
"Never mind," Nikolas growled; he had decided to handle things
himself. 5/24 Lucky ran into Maya at General Hospital when he went to pick up
Cam and Jake from daycare. He had just learned that Elizabeth had already
picked them up. Maya told him that Elizabeth had left with the boys a half
hour earlier. Lucky expressed surprise because he had made plans with
Elizabeth to pick up the boys for an overnight at his place. At home, Elizabeth was having a hard time coping with a headache and
two very noisy children. She was sitting down, holding her head, when
Nikolas knocked at the door and wanted to know why she had missed her
sonogram appointment. She told him that she had forgotten. He wanted to
know if she had just blown it off because it would be the first time that
he would have a chance to see his child and she did not care. Elizabeth
told Nikolas that she was just tired and he was making a big deal over a
minor error. At that moment, Lucky arrived to pick up the kids. He quickly
put on their coats and left with them as Elizabeth apologized profusely
for forgetting that they were supposed to spend the night at his place.
After Lucky left with Cam and Jake, Nikolas suggested that Elizabeth was
working too hard. He said that she was overwhelmed and exhausted because
she was trying to take care of two active boys while being pregnant and
working full time. Nikolas suggested that Elizabeth did not have work
because she had other options. Nikolas asked her to move to Windemere where she could have staff to
help out with the boys. Elizabeth got very angry and said that she hated
Windemere. Nikolas shot back that she did not seem to hate the turret room
when they had made love in it. Elizabeth got even angrier and said that
she hated that she had slept with Nikolas and that she hated that he was
the father of her baby. Nikolas sputtered as Elizabeth walked to the door
and indicated that he should leave. Nikolas did as she commanded, but as
he stood on the threshold, he told her that he had every right to decide
what was best for his baby and he would. A frantic Elizabeth pounded on
Lucky's door. When he answered, she told him that Nikolas had ordered her
to move to Windemere with the boys. 5/25 In Lucky's apartment, Elizabeth confessed that she needed Lucky's
help. Elizabeth explained that Nikolas had changed; he made her feel as if
she were nothing more than an incubator. Lucky was sympathetic, but he
didn't want to get involved. He reminded her that Nikolas was her baby's
father, so it was up to her to work things out with Nikolas. Elizabeth
wondered if Lucky truly wouldn't care if she moved to Wyndemere with the
boys. Lucky insisted that it was her decision to make. Elizabeth clarified
that she didn't have any intention of moving in with Nikolas. Lucky
assured her that if she changed her mind, he wouldn't object. According to
Lucky, Wyndemere was just a short boat ride away. After Elizabeth left,
Claire stopped by to talk to Lucky. Claire once again apologized for her
meltdown in the park, but Lucky assured her that it wasn't necessary.
Claire appreciated Lucky's kindness. She then shifted gears to let him
know that she had paid him a visit for a reason. Claire revealed that she
remained determined to send Sonny to jail. She was curious if Lucky wanted
to work with her. She was delighted when Lucky expressed an interest in
helping her, but she wondered why Lucky had occasionally cited a conflict
of interest while investigating Sonny. Lucky made it clear that it was a personal matter that he didn't wish
to discuss. He assured her that it would not stop him from going after
Sonny. However, he was concerned that she might become obsessed with
convicting Sonny. Lucky explained that many people had gone after Sonny,
only to become so fixated on taking him down that they had lost
themselves. Claire was confident that she wouldn't cross the line, but she
trusted Lucky to reel her in if she went "Captain Ahab" on him. Elizabeth arrived home to find Nikolas waiting in her living room. She
warned Nikolas that he didn't have the right to enter her home whenever he
liked. Nikolas explained that he had been concerned after he had learned
that a patient had kicked her. Elizabeth clarified that the patient had
been having a seizure and that she hadn't been injured. Nikolas didn't
think that Elizabeth was taking proper care of herself. He suggested that
she secretly wanted the pregnancy to go away. Elizabeth was outraged by
the suggestion. She demanded to know "what the hell" was wrong
with Nikolas that he would think that she'd harm her baby. She made it
clear that she loved her child and always would. Nikolas argued that she
resented the baby because he was the father. Elizabeth reminded Nikolas
that she had hated Cam's father, but she deeply loved her son. Elizabeth
had hoped that she and Nikolas could somehow salvage their friendship, but
she found it difficult to look at him, so she told him to leave. As
Nikolas stormed out of the house, he warned her that the days of her
ordering him around were over. 5/26 Lucky bumped into Helena on the pier. He admitted that he had been
hoping that her body would wash up on shore. Helena smiled indulgently as
she explained that she had been in Europe on business. Lucky narrowed his
eyes as he tried to figure out what continued to draw Helena back to town.
Helena accused Lucky of being paranoid, just as Nikolas walked up. Nikolas
resented Lucky questioning Helena; he insisted that her whereabouts
weren't any of Lucky's business. Lucky made it clear that Helena was his
concern if there were a possibility that Elizabeth might move to Wyndemere
with his sons. Nikolas suggested that Elizabeth was using Lucky to keep
Nikolas at arm's length. Lucky argued that he didn't want his sons near
Helena. Lucky had visions of Helena handing them a sippy cup with one hand
while holding a dagger in the other hand. "That's absurd,"
Helena interjected. "We have servants to feed the children." Nikolas explained that he wanted to help Elizabeth because it was clear
to him that she was struggling. Lucky didn't think isolating Elizabeth on
Spoon Island was the solution. Nikolas clarified that he didn't intend to
kidnap Elizabeth or hold her prisoner; however, Nikolas advised Lucky to
get used to the idea that Elizabeth was bearing his child. Lucky found it
hard to believe that Nikolas had betrayed him; however, he suspected that
Nikolas wasn't even sorry. At Wyndemere, Helena talked about her plans for
the nursery. Nikolas warned Helena that he was fully aware of her attempt
to manipulate him. He let her know, in no uncertain terms, that he would
do what he thought was best for his child. At the hospital, Elizabeth pulled Robin aside to ask for her help with
Nikolas. Elizabeth explained that Nikolas had become extremely controlling
since he had learned that she was pregnant with his child. Elizabeth
explained that Nikolas was trying to pressure her to move in with him, but
she refused to expose her children to Helena. Robin promised to talk to
Nikolas as soon as possible. A short time later, Robin went to Wyndemere. Nikolas complained to
Robin that Elizabeth saw him differently since their affair had ended.
Nikolas didn't appreciate that Elizabeth put all of the blame for the
affair on him. He acknowledged that Elizabeth had always been remorseful
after they had slept together, but he insisted that she had been a willing
participant. Robin recalled that Nikolas and Elizabeth had deeply
regretted betraying Lucky. Robin suggested that Elizabeth's new view of
things was proof of how destructive guilt could be. Nikolas was certain
that Elizabeth wanted to paint him as the bad guy, so that she could
pretend that Lucky was the baby's father. Robin urged Nikolas to back off
because it wasn't helping matters. Nikolas stubbornly refused to consider
it. He insisted that he had an obligation to his child, so if that meant
he had to pressure Elizabeth to meet it, "so be it." On the pier, Lucky demanded to know what was going on with Johnny and
Sonny. Johnny promised to hand Sonny over to the cops on a silver platter,
but he didn't elaborate beyond that. 5/27 On the pier, Lucky was offended by Johnny's vague accusations.
Johnny shrugged as he pointed out that Sonny had been an uncle figure to
Lucky while Lucky had been growing up. Lulu had told Johnny all about
Lucky's history with Sonny. Johnny knew that Sonny had taken Lucky under
his wing when Lucky had left home around the age of fifteen. Johnny was
also aware that Lucky had lived with Jason for a time. Lucky suggested
that one of the problems with overanalyzing things was that it led to
conspiracy theories, which made reality easier to live with. Johnny
admitted that he was lost. Lucky decided to use Claudia as an example. He
reminded Johnny that Claudia had been responsible for a kid getting shot
in the head, but Johnny had practically canonized Claudia since her death. Lucky pointed out that Claudia was the reason for everything that
Johnny did, so Johnny had turned her into a victim. However, Lucky
suspected that the truth was more complicated than that. Johnny tensed up.
Lucky didn't have a problem telling Johnny the truth. Johnny and Sonny
were mobsters; if Johnny went to war with Sonny to avenge Claudia, then
Lucky vowed to go after both of them. Lucky recognized that Johnny had
daddy and sister issues and that he was borderline suicidal. However, he
didn't appreciate Johnny pulling Ethan into the war with Sonny. Johnny
insisted that he had been upfront with Ethan. Lucky refused to allow
Johnny to turn Port Charles into a war zone. He also wouldn't stand by
while Johnny destroyed Ethan's life. At the PCPD, Lucky mentioned that he had encountered Johnny on the
pier. Lucky was worried about what Johnny planned to do. Dante insisted
that they had to keep their eye on the prize; Sonny was their priority.
After Dante left, Claire found Lucky reviewing some paperwork. She
confided that Sonny had offered to help her send Johnny to jail. Lucky was
curious if she had agreed. "He thinks so," Claire admitted.
Claire confessed that she wouldn't rest until Sonny was sent to prison.
Lucky advised Claire to proceed with caution. He didn't think that she'd
want her name added to the list of female officers of the court who had
gone after Sonny only to end up with more than they had bargained for.
"List?" Claire asked. "Hannah Scott, Reese Marshall, and
Alexis Davis," Lucky supplied. He revealed that each woman had
eventually succumbed to Sonny's charms. Lucky suggested that Claire be
careful that the hunter didn't get captured by the game. 5/28 Shirley commandeered the hospital's public announcement system, in
order to let everyone know that she would be selling her jewelry in her
hospital room. Epiphany snatched the phone out of Shirley's hand as
Elizabeth approached the nurses' station. Elizabeth bit back a smile as
she helped Shirley into a wheelchair. Shirley refused to apologize; she
had vowed to never again sit around and let her life happen. A few minutes
later, Elizabeth settled Shirley into bed and then ordered Shirley to stay
put. Elizabeth mentioned that she had an ultrasound appointment; she
admitted that it had been rescheduled because she had missed the first
appointment. Elizabeth grumbled about Nikolas' reaction and then revealed
that he had asked her to move to Wyndemere with him. Shirley was stunned
that Elizabeth had been invited to live in a castle complete with legions
of servants. To Elizabeth's surprise, Shirley urged Elizabeth to consider it.
Elizabeth insisted that she didn't want to even look at Nikolas, much less
live with him. Elizabeth also didn't want her kids anywhere near his
insane grandmother. Shirley agreed that Elizabeth had a point. However,
Shirley had noticed that Elizabeth seemed to be trying to push all of the
blame for the affair on Nikolas. Elizabeth contended that it if hadn't
been for Nikolas, she would still be with Lucky. "But you
aren't," Shirley pointed out. Shirley added that it was her
understanding that it was unlikely that Lucky would be back. Shirley
advised Elizabeth open herself up to something new. She didn't think that
Elizabeth should waste time punishing herself for sleeping with Nikolas.
Shirley suggested that Elizabeth should be grateful that she had a healthy
baby. At the police station, Lucky warned Claire that Sonny was using her to
get rid of a rival mobster. Claire didn't have any doubt that Sonny was
trying to help himself, not her, but she insisted that she was in Port
Charles to put Sonny in jail. Claire hoped to use the deal that she had
made with Sonny to her advantage. According to Lucky, Sonny knew Claire's
vulnerability. Lucky was certain that Sonny hoped to capitalize on
Claire's desire for redemption by ridding himself of an enemy under the
guise of her helping Michael. Claire didn't understand why she couldn't send Sonny and Johnny away.
She thought that Sonny must suspect that she intended to double-cross him.
Lucky confessed that he knew of only two women who could stand up to
Sonny. The first woman was his cousin, Carly. Lucky clarified that Carly
had endured years of pain and four failed marriage to Sonny to be able to
make that claim. The other woman was Diane Miller, who seemed immune to
Sonny's charms. Lucky explained that there was good in Sonny, therefore
women thought that they could save him. Claire recalled how Sonny had been
during the trial. She confided that he had been a narcissistic thug who
needed to be shut down. Claire was concerned that Lucky's personal
knowledge of Sonny might lead Lucky to cite a conflict of interest. Lucky
assured her that he didn't have a problem building a case against Sonny as
long as they went by the book. However, he wanted Claire to be careful.
Claire surprised Lucky by inviting him out for drinks to continue their
discussion later. Lucky quickly accepted. Claire returned Lucky's smile as
she suggested that they go to the park to watch the kids play. The moment
was ruined when Helena marched up to the desk. Helena asked Lucky to send
his secretary back to work because Helena needed his full attention.
Claire walked away without comment. Helena demanded to know why he wouldn't allow Elizabeth to move to
Wyndemere. Lucky made it clear that it wasn't his decision to make; his
responsibility was to Cameron and Jake. Helena accused Lucky of being
jealous because the baby wasn't his. Helena warned Lucky that it would be
his fault if Elizabeth were to miscarry. At Wyndemere, Nikolas confirmed with Dr. Lee that Elizabeth had arrived
on time for the ultrasound appointment. Nikolas requested pictures of the
baby and then ended the call. Lucky strolled in seconds later. Lucky
revealed that Helena had stopped by the police station because she thought
he was responsible for Elizabeth's decision not to move to Wyndemere.
"Aren't you?" Nikolas wondered. Nikolas suggested that Lucky's
"passive-aggressive way" had kept Elizabeth from accepting the
offer. Lucky reminded Nikolas that Wyndemere held bad memories, such as
Emily's murder, for everyone. It was also where everything fell apart for
Elizabeth. Lucky pointed out that Elizabeth worked at the hospital, so she
would have a considerable daily commute, which wouldn't be good for her or
the baby. Nikolas insisted that Elizabeth wouldn't have to work for the
rest of her pregnancy if she moved in with him. Nikolas argued that
Elizabeth was under the impression that if she drove Nikolas away then
Lucky would go back to her. Lucky wondered what had happened to Nikolas. Lucky claimed that Nikolas
had changed after Emily's death. Nikolas refused to allow Lucky to drag
Emily into their argument. Nikolas explained that he and Elizabeth simply
had an affair. Nikolas admitted that it shouldn't have happened, but it
wasn't uncommon. Nikolas recalled that Lucky had an affair with Maxie.
Nikolas was tired of apologizing for sleeping with Elizabeth because the
bottom line was that there was a child on the way. Nikolas fully intended
to provide for his child. Nikolas didn't care how mad Lucky was, as long
as he stayed out of the way. Nikolas reached the conclusion that he would
never be fully accepted by the Spencers, even their mother. Nikolas was
tired of deferring to Lucky's family and settling for second place. Lucky
suspected that a part of Nikolas had always hated him. Nikolas assured his
brother that he had loved him once. Lucky believed that had changed when
Nikolas had slept with Elizabeth. Nikolas argued that Lucky's relationship was in trouble before Nikolas
had slept with Elizabeth. Nikolas claimed that Elizabeth had reservations
about marrying Lucky. Lucky resented Nikolas for not telling him.
"You didn't want to know," Nikolas shouted in frustration.
Nikolas accused Lucky of manipulating Elizabeth by playing on her guilt
and loyalty. Nikolas insisted that Lucky had refused to see what had been
staring him right in his "damn" face. Lucky agreed that he had
ignored the signs. The brothers traded bitter words until Lucky mentioned
Nikolas' father, Stavros. Nikolas quickly reminded Lucky that Luke had
raped Laura, so Lucky didn't have any room to judge. Lucky refused to go
down the same road that Luke had gone with the Cassadines. Lucky had never
thought that he and Nikolas would have reached the point that they were
at. Lucky turned and then walked away. 6/1 After work, Maya was taken aback when she spotted Lucky punching
the side of a building. Lucky cradled his injured hand while he explained
that he had just had a run-in with his brother. Maya assumed he meant
Ethan, but Lucky clarified that he had been talking about his other
half-brother. "The one who screwed me over," Lucky added. Maya
suggested that the next time Lucky try punching his brother rather than a
wall. Maya checked Lucky's hand and then tore off the lid of her cup to
dip his hand inside. Lucky winced at how cold, and sticky, the contents of
the cup were. Maya explained that he could wash his hand when he got home,
but the cold would help keep the swelling down. Lucky thanked her and then
wondered what kind of music she liked. Maya confessed that she enjoyed
everything. Lucky smiled as he recognized a kindred spirit. He suggested
that they had both inherited their love for music from Luke and Mary Mae.
Lucky admitted that he had an extensive LP collection at home and a record
player. He invited Maya to drop by to listen to his records whenever she
would like. "You're on," Maya promised. 6/2 Elizabeth noticed some handmade signs around the hospital that
eventually led her to Shirley's hospital room, where she found Shirley
trying to persuade Nikolas to buy a piece of jewelry. Nikolas confessed
that he didn't have anyone to buy jewelry for. Shirley glanced up to see
Elizabeth standing in the room; she suggested that Nikolas buy something
for the mother of his child. Nikolas turned around to find Elizabeth
scowling at him. Elizabeth made it clear that she didn't appreciate
Nikolas using Shirley to make inroads with her. "Will you get over
yourself for a minute," Nikolas snapped. He explained that he had
been on his way to a meeting when he had spotted Shirley's unique signs.
Shirley made it clear that she wasn't picky about whom she sold her
jewelry to. To Shirley, a customer was a customer. Nikolas bought one of
Shirley's pieces for his cousin and then left. Shirley remarked that it
had dropped twenty degrees when Elizabeth had entered the room. Elizabeth apologized for her outburst, but she didn't trust Nikolas.
Shirley didn't understand why Elizabeth was so resistant to Nikolas.
Shirley admitted that if the father of her child were a hunky rich prince
who thought that the sun rose and set on her, then she'd at least give him
a chance. Elizabeth needed Shirley to respect her wishes. Elizabeth
explained that things were messy with Nikolas, so it didn't help when
someone tried to push them together. Elizabeth realized that Nikolas could
be charming, but she argued that he was also domineering and manipulative
when he didn't get his way. Elizabeth suspected that Nikolas knew exactly
what he had been doing during the affair. Shirley wondered if Elizabeth
were trying to rewrite history because she deeply regretted what had
happened. Elizabeth explained that Nikolas and Lucky had worked hard to
break free of the "inherited animosity" between their families.
She admitted that everything had been fine until she had trashed it by
sleeping with Nikolas. However, Elizabeth was clear that she was not in
love with Nikolas the way that she was with Lucky. Shirley pointed out
that Lucky didn't return those feelings for Elizabeth. Elizabeth didn't
think that should mean that she should move to Wyndemere. It had taken
Elizabeth a long time to accept that Lucky didn't love her, so she was
determined to raise her baby alone. Shirley apologized for trying to push
Elizabeth and Nikolas together; however, she urged Elizabeth to find a way
to get along with Nikolas for the sake of the baby. Elizabeth called out to Nikolas when she spotted him waiting for an
elevator. Nikolas assured Elizabeth that he hadn't been stalking her.
Elizabeth apologized for the way that she had been treating Nikolas. She
realized that she was trying to blame everyone, except herself, for the
affair. Elizabeth acknowledged that she had been unfair to Nikolas.
Nikolas was surprised by the unexpected apology. Elizabeth credited
Shirley for getting through to her. Elizabeth promised Nikolas that she
was wiling to meet him halfway as long as he respected her boundaries.
Nikolas didn't want to misstep, so he asked her to clarify what they were.
Elizabeth explained that she needed to be independent, so she didn't
intend to move to Wyndemere. Elizabeth also stipulated that she didn't
want Nikolas' money. She wondered if he could accept that. 6/3 At the hospital, Nikolas insisted that he wouldn't be a good father
if he didn't provide for his child. Elizabeth pointed out that there were
other ways to be a good parent. Nikolas argued that he was wealthy, which
meant that his children would be. He promised that he wasn't trying to
bully her, but he didn't think it would take long for the baby to notice
the differences between their homes. Nikolas suggested that Cameron and
Jake might grow to resent that their sibling had more advantages than they
did. Elizabeth refused to allow her children to be drawn into a Spencer
vs. Cassadine war. Nikolas insisted that, like it or not, class warfare
was part of the feud. Elizabeth clarified that she intended to raise her
children with enough love to see beyond all of that. Nikolas requested
that Elizabeth give it some honest thought before she turned down his
offer to help her. Later, Elizabeth and Cameron approached the nurses' station after
Cameron's checkup with the Pediatrician. Cameron was excited when he saw a
brochure of a day camp. Elizabeth explained that she couldn't afford it,
but she promised to take Cameron and Jake to the lake that weekend.
Cameron decided that feeding ducks was for babies; he wanted to go to
camp. After Elizabeth dropped off Cameron, she talked to Audrey on the
phone. Elizabeth appreciated Audrey's offer to help out with camp, but she
didn't want to take any more money from her grandmother. Audrey suggested
that Elizabeth talk to Nikolas, but Elizabeth insisted that she couldn't
because she was trying to show him that she could make it on her own.
Elizabeth ended the call and then reviewed some files. Moments later,
Steve and Lisa approached the nurses' station. Steve mentioned to Lisa
that he had received another message from Henry. Elizabeth overheard Steve
explain that Henry had a new medication that helped rebuild tendons and
cartilage. Lisa confessed that she had heard about it. She was curious if
there had been any clinical trials. Steve confirmed that the clinical
trials had been very promising, so anyone who invested in the medication
could get very rich very quick. 6/4 At the Haunted Star, Lucky asked Ethan if Ethan had heard from
their father. Ethan replied that he hadn't. They both commiserated that
the last they heard from Luke was that Luke had been worried about Tracy.
Lucky wondered if Ethan was too busy helping Johnny start war with Sonny
to notice that Luke had disappeared. Ethan reminded Lucky that he had no
reason to like Sonny. Ethan assumed that Luke had disappeared because he
was mad at Ethan for working with Johnny. Lucky said, "Well, you
assumed wrong." Lucky pointed out that while Luke might not like
being the regular father figure, he'd still be concerned about his
children, especially with Ethan putting himself in harm's way and Lulu
dealing with the fallout of Michael's conviction. Maya entered and
reported that Tracy had never gone to Fiji. Lucky was convinced Helena had something to do with Luke and Tracy's
disappearances. Ethan thought that Tracy had just run off to make Luke
follow her. Lucky still insisted that Helena had something to do with Luke
and Tracy being gone. Maya admitted that she believed that Lucky wanted to
blame Cassadines because of his hatred of Nikolas. Ethan and Maya tried to
convince Lucky that Helena had no motive to kidnap Tracy and Luke. Lucky
reminded them that they didn't know Helena like he did. Lucky got a text
from Luke, which claimed that Luke and Tracy were on a vacation and wanted
to be left alone. Ethan was glad to be proven right, and he left. Lucky
remained skeptical, but Maya insinuated that something was wrong within
Lucky's own life. At the hospital, Steven described to Lisa and Elizabeth an
extraordinary new drug his friend had created, which would provide
restoration of tendons and cartilage. He was eager to make an investment
to increase his finances. Intrigued, Elizabeth asked Steven to keep her
informed. Lisa wondered why Elizabeth needed to make money, since her
baby's father was rich. Elizabeth declared that she would never want to be
financially dependent on Nikolas. Steven reported to Lisa and Elizabeth
that the minimum investment was one hundred thousand dollars. As Steven
and Lisa talked about the possibilities of investing, Elizabeth declared
that she didn't have that kind of money. 6/7 Maya and Lucky were in Luke's office on the Haunted Star. She was
helping trace the text message from Luke. Maya was skeptical that Luke and
Tracy were in trouble, but Lucky was not so sure and wanted to know where
the text message originated. While they were working, Johnny dropped by
looking for Ethan. Lucky warned Johnny that if anything happened to Ethan,
Johnny would have another enemy. When Lucky said that Ethan's relationship
to Luke would not keep Sonny from going after Johnny, Johnny said that he
hoped Sonny would go after him so that he would have an excuse to kill
Sonny. After Johnny left, Maya said that she thought Lucky was jealous
because he was settled with two kids and a job as a cop and could not
indulge his wild Spencer blood and have an adventure. Before he could
respond, the computer beeped with the results of the search. 6/9 On the pier, Lucky informed Nikolas that Luke and Tracy were
missing. Lucky made it clear that he suspected that Helena was behind
their disappearance. Nikolas claimed that his grandmother was away on
business, but Lucky didn't believe him. Lucky demanded to know where
Helena was hiding Luke. Nikolas didn't want any part of it, but he advised
Lucky to search in hell for Luke. A short time later, Ethan met Lucky on the pier. Lucky explained that
he had called because he intended to search for their father. Lucky
revealed that he had traced Luke's text message to southern Europe.
"Greece?" Ethan speculated. Lucky confirmed Ethan's suspicions
and then announced that he would begin his search on Spoon Island. Lucky
wondered if Ethan were interested in helping him out. Ethan was
surprisingly reluctant to get involved. According to Ethan, Luke had made
it clear that he preferred to match wits and battle Helena without any
"third party interference." Lucky was undaunted; he was certain
that something was wrong. Ethan was certain that Luke would object. He
urged Lucky to stay out of it because Luke was like a cat; he always
landed on his feet. At the hospital, Elizabeth found Shirley peddling her jewelry to a
nurse. Elizabeth sent the nurse on an errand and then scolded Shirley for
defying Steve's orders not to sell her items in the hospital. Shirley
refused to apologize. Moments later, Nikolas stepped out of the elevator.
Nikolas wanted to let Elizabeth and Steve know that he would be unable to
attend a hospital meeting because he had plans to go to his family's
island in Greece. Shirley was stunned that Nikolas had his own private
island in Greece. Shirley admitted that she had always hoped to go to
Naples. Nikolas assured Shirley that Naples was not to be missed in
September. Shirley promised to make a mental note to remember that.
Shirley and Nikolas then began talking about traveling until Elizabeth
interrupted them to suggest that Nikolas was in a hurry to leave. Nikolas
insisted that he enjoyed talking to Shirley, but he took the hint. After Nikolas walked away, Shirley offered to hold the doors open the
next time, so that Elizabeth could shove Nikolas down the elevator shaft.
Elizabeth claimed that there was a lot of tension between her and Nikolas.
From Shirley's point of view, the tension went one way: from Elizabeth to
Nikolas. Shirley thought that Elizabeth had agreed to lighten up a bit
about Nikolas. Elizabeth confessed that she was happy that Nikolas was
leaving town because it was the first time that Nikolas hadn't tried to
shove his money at her. Elizabeth was certain that the only way to get
Nikolas to back off was if she found a way to be completely financially
independent. Elizabeth stopped her brother to let him know that she was interested
in investing in the experimental drug. Steve reminded her that it would
take a minimum of one hundred thousand dollars, which she didn't have.
Elizabeth revealed that Jason had set up trust funds for Cameron and Jake.
She intended to talk to Diane about gaining access to the money. Elizabeth
was desperate to be financially independent from Nikolas. Steve warned
Elizabeth that it could be a big risk. Elizabeth believed that it was a
chance that she had to take. 6/11 On the Cassadine private island, Lucky pretended he was a lost
backpacker. To get the guard to believe him, Lucky wove a tale of how he
arrived on the island. The guard pulled a gun on Lucky. Nikolas entered
and asked why the guard was holding a gun on his brother. Lucky asked
Nikolas where his father and Tracy were. Nikolas claimed that he didn't
know about Luke and Tracy's whereabouts, but he would search the property
for them alone. Lucky pointed out that he'd have to trust Nikolas to
search for Luke and Tracy by himself, and Lucky didn't believe he'd ever
trust Nikolas again. Nikolas refused to let Lucky search the island. Lucky
was angry that Nikolas was acting like the wronged party, since Nikolas
was the one that slept with Elizabeth. Lucky asked for the chance just to
find his father and Tracy. Nikolas promised that if he found Luke and
Tracy, he would release them. Nikolas also stated that if he found Helena,
he would deal with her how he saw fit. Nikolas ordered the guard to escort
Lucky off the island. 6/14 In Helena's dungeon in Greece, Nikolas arrived with the key to
release Luke and Tracy. Before he could do so, Lucky also managed to find
his way into the dungeon. Tracy and Luke left to find a good hotel, but
Lucky and Nikolas stayed behind. Nikolas was standing inside the cell door
and Lucky was standing outside. Nikolas tried to defend the feud between
Luke and Helena as mutual, but Lucky pointed out that he was a bystander
when Helena had kidnapped and held him in this same dungeon. Lucky told
Nikolas that Helena had taken everything from him. Lucky said that one of
the reasons that he had gotten reengaged to Elizabeth was that she
represented everything that had been taken from him. Lucky told Nikolas that he could not look at him without remembering
what Helena had done. When Nikolas tried to justify his behavior and say
that he was not involved with the feud that Lucky was using as an excuse
to hate him, Lucky said it was not about the feud, but about the brother
who had betrayed him. Lucky said that he did not forgive Nikolas and never
would. Lucky then locked the cell door with Nikolas inside. He said that
he would leave the keys at the door and Helena's henchman would let
Nikolas out soon. Lucky said that it might be an empty gesture, but for a
few minutes, Nikolas could get a small taste of what it had meant to be
Lucky while he had been in Helena's clutches. Dvd #3B 6/16 Elizabeth caught up with Steve at the bank of
elevators. She revealed that she had met with her attorney, who had made
it possible for her to access the money in the trust funds that Jason had
set up for the boys. Elizabeth was eager to invest in the experimental
drug that Steve's friend had developed. Steve didn't think that Jason
intended for Elizabeth to gamble with the boys' future like that. She
reminded her brother that he was also investing his savings in the drug
and that he had told her that it was a "no-brainer." Steve
acknowledged that he didn't think that there would be a downside to
investing, but he warned her that there were always risks. Elizabeth
trusted Steve's judgment. If it worked out then Elizabeth would be able to
replace the money that she had taken from the trust funds. She was
confident that she would have enough money left over, so that she wouldn't
have to rely on Nikolas. Later, Nikolas found Elizabeth working at a computer. Nikolas started
to explain that he had just returned from Greece, but Elizabeth cut him
off to let him know that Tracy had been admitted to the hospital, so she
knew all about the abduction. Nikolas assured her that he had kicked
Helena out of Wyndemere. Elizabeth was happy to hear it, but she made it
clear that nothing had changed. She refused to move into Wyndemere.
Nikolas was frustrated that she was always pushing him away. Elizabeth
didn't think that it was fair for him to keep pressuring her to move in
with him. She also thought that Nikolas was being unrealistic if he
thought that Helena would stay away just because Nikolas had evicted
Helena from Wyndemere. Nikolas was curious how long it would be until
Elizabeth pushed him out of their baby's life. Elizabeth denied that she
would ever do that. Elizabeth accused Nikolas of putting distance between
them by always trying to control the situation. She resented that he
continually implied that she couldn't take care of her children. Nikolas
insisted that he merely meant that he could provide better for them.
"Not for long," Elizabeth argued. Nikolas wondered what she
meant by that. Elizabeth revealed that she intended to make some financial
moves that would secure her independence. She also confirmed that she
intended to wait for Lucky, no matter how long it took. 6/22 Maxie hobbled into the police station on crutches. Lucky was
curious how she had injured her leg. Maxie confessed that she had tripped
on a street curb because she hadn't been paying attention. Maxie then
shifted gears to let Lucky know that she was there to see Claire, per
Jason's request. Lucky was surprised when she presented him with a picture
that Franco had sent to her. Lucky didn't understand why Franco would
contact her. Maxie didn't have an answer, but she made it clear that she
was eager to give Claire the picture and then leave. Lucky speculated that
perhaps the photo was Franco's way of reminding them that he was still out
there. Maxie complained that the timing couldn't be worse because things
were falling apart between her and Spinelli. Lucky lent a sympathetic ear
as Maxie poured her heart out to him about her troubles with Spinelli. She
apologized for giving Lucky grief about Elizabeth when she was doing
exactly what she had urged Lucky not to do. Lucky argued that it was clear
that Maxie loved Spinelli, so he advised her not to give up. Claire entered the squad room moments later. Claire revealed that she
had planned to go shopping to celebrate Michael's release from prison when
she had received Maxie's cryptic phone call. Maxie apologized for dragging
Claire away from the mall. Maxie handed the crime scene picture to Claire.
That snagged Claire's attention. Claire wondered if the picture meant
anything to Maxie. "Yes," Maxie admitted. According to Maxie it
confirmed that Franco was a psychopath who needed to be locked up. Claire
was curious if Maxie and Franco had any other contact, but Maxie clarified
that she and Franco weren't exactly pen pals. Claire wondered why Maxie
had turned to Jason, instead of Mac, when she had received the picture.
Maxie explained that Franco was obsessed with Jason, which Lucky quickly
confirmed. After Claire thanked Maxie for her cooperation, Lucky
volunteered to take Maxie home. 6/23 At Lucky's apartment, Lucky was surprised to find Luke sleeping on
the sofa. Luke explained that Tracy had tossed him out of the mansion and
off of the casino because she was upset that their marriage hadn't been
legal. Luke still owned the Haunted Star, but he would need a high-powered
attorney to get everything straightened out with Tracy. Luke appeared to
be a bit inebriated from a night of drinking, so Lucky fixed his father a
hearty breakfast to help sober him up. As Luke dug into the food, he
assured Lucky that Tracy would eventually calm down and then take Luke
back. Lucky pointed out that it had been a fairly significant lie that
Luke had told. He was curious what made Luke think that Tracy just needed
some time. Luke was spared from having to answer the question when Ethan arrived
looking for Luke. As Ethan helped himself to some of Luke's breakfast, he
mentioned that he had been at the Quartermaine mansion earlier that
morning. Luke perked up as he asked, "How's my little popsicle
doing?" Ethan admitted that he didn't think that Tracy wanted to see
or hear from Luke ever again. Luke took the news in stride; he insisted
that Tracy loved him, so she would end up begging him to return home.
Lucky and Ethan didn't doubt Tracy's love for Luke; however, they realized
that Tracy was deeply hurt. Lucky was certain that Luke's old bag of
tricks wouldn't work, so he urged his father to figure out a way to win
Tracy back if Luke truly wanted a reconciliation. Luke assured his sons
that he knew how to handle Tracy; he promised that he had it covered. Nikolas was holding a bouquet of colorful flowers when he entered
Shirley's hospital room. Shirley was impressed with the beautiful blooms,
but she didn't think that Elizabeth was working. Nikolas wondered why
Shirley assumed that the flowers were for Elizabeth. Shirley smiled as
Nikolas set the flowers in a nearby vase. He confessed that she reminded
him of Emily. Shirley thanked Nikolas for the flowers and then praised him
for not giving up despite Elizabeth's attempts to push him away.
"What can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment," Nikolas
responded good-naturedly. Shirley and Nikolas were startled when Elizabeth
suddenly entered the room. "What are you doing here?" Elizabeth
demanded when she saw Nikolas standing at Shirley's bedside. Nikolas explained that he had dropped off some flowers for Shirley.
"You really expect me to believe that?" Elizabeth snapped.
Nikolas suggested that Elizabeth was being rude. He informed her that he
and Shirley hadn't realized that she was on duty. Elizabeth didn't appear
to believe him, but rather than argue with him, she decided to excuse
herself and then left. Shirley observed that Elizabeth remained determined
not to like Nikolas and that Nikolas wasn't helping the situation. Nikolas
acknowledged that she had a point. Nikolas was frustrated because he and
Elizabeth had been close friends before they became lovers, so he wanted
to make things right for Elizabeth and the baby. Shirley realized that
Nikolas felt that he had to atone for all of his wrongs. A short time later, Elizabeth bumped into Nikolas as he approached the
elevators. She immediately apologized for her earlier outburst and then
confessed that she wanted to discuss something else with him. Elizabeth
admitted that Steve had revealed that Nikolas had talked to him about her
decision to invest in Steve's friend's biotechnology firm. Elizabeth
requested Nikolas to stay out of it because she was doing it for herself
and her children. Nikolas reminded her that not too long before, they had
declared their love for each other. Nikolas realized that she wanted to
pretend that it hadn't happened because she wanted Lucky back. However,
Nikolas hoped that, before the baby was born, they could learn to once
again give each other the benefit of the doubt. 6/24 At Lucky's apartment, Luke insisted that Tracy was the one for
him. Luke hoped to return to Las Vegas to marry Tracy and promised to be
sober when they exchanged vows. Ethan and Lucky burst out laughing. As the
laughter faded, Lucky suggested that Luke could lose Tracy forever if he
underestimated how deeply she was hurt. Luke assured his sons that he had
a few aces up his sleeve. Lucky advised his father to be sincere. Ethan
agreed with his brother and then went a step further by suggesting that
Luke surprise Tracy instead of resorting to the same old tricks. Lucky
added that Luke should also consider keeping his hands off of Tracy's
money until everything settled down. Luke announced his intention to visit
Tracy, but Ethan warned him that it wouldn't be easy. Ethan revealed that
Tracy had changed all of the locks. A knock at the door drew their
attention. It was Maya. Ethan was pleased that she had tracked him down,
but Luke clarified that he had called Maya. Luke hoped that Maya would
give him the security codes to the mansion, so that he could talk
face-to-face with Tracy. Maya wanted to know why she should help Luke.
Luke pointed out that Tracy would remain in a foul mood until she
reconciled with Luke, which would require Luke to talk to her. Maya
pointed out that Luke had lied to Tracy for four years. Luke assured Maya that Tracy was the one for him. Luke admitted that he
didn't think that a piece of paper was important. Maya wondered, if that
were the case, why he had kept quiet about the sham wedding. Luke
confessed that he knew Tracy would be upset. Maya revealed that Tracy
seemed happy to be single again. Luke pointed out that Tracy didn't behave
like someone who was happy. Maya had to agree, but she didn't think that
Tracy was ready to forgive Luke. Lucky stepped in to plead his father's
case until Maya relented. After Luke left, Lucky thanked Maya for giving
Luke the opportunity to work things out with Tracy. Lucky admitted that he
didn't want Luke underfoot, so he was eager for Luke and Tracy to make up.
Maya wondered why Luke didn't move in with Ethan, who had a luxury
penthouse with lots of room. Lucky raised an eyebrow, but didn't correct
Maya. Ethan scrambled to explain why Luke couldn't stay with him. Eventually Lucky took pity on his brother; he revealed that Ethan's
place was too close to Lulu's apartment, which she shared with Maxie, so
it would cause too many problems. Maya thought that Luke was too good for
Tracy, but she hoped that things worked out for Luke. Ethan appreciated
Maya's help, so he offered to repay her by buying her a drink. Maya wanted
to see how her day went before she agreed. After she left, Ethan demanded
to know why Lucky had allowed him to twist in the wind when Maya had
mentioned Luke staying with Ethan. Lucky smiled as he admitted that it had
been fun. Ethan confessed that the lie had been a moment of inspiration
when he had noticed Maya's reaction to Johnny's penthouse. Lucky warned
Ethan that Maya would eventually discover the truth. Lucky was certain
that she would be furious when she realized that Ethan had lied to her. 6/29 At Pozzulo's, Sonny was surprised to see Lucky waiting for him.
Sonny was curious if he needed to call his attorney. Lucky assured Sonny
that he wasn't there as a cop. Sonny led the way to his office as Lucky
explained that he had dropped by because he was worried about Michael.
Sonny suspected that Dante had put Lucky up to it, but Lucky pointed out
that Michael was his cousin. Sonny complained that Michael shouldn't have
been sent to prison, which he blamed on a flawed judicial system. Lucky
conceded that the system wasn't perfect, but neither was Sonny's brand of
justice. Lucky acknowledged that Michael had endured more than anyone
should have, so he urged Sonny to stop ignoring the conditions of
Michael's release by continually fighting to see Michael. Sonny wondered
what Lucky would do if their roles were reversed. "The same
thing," Sonny suspected. Lucky talked about the sacrifice that Jason
had made by giving up Jake. Sonny argued that Jake had been a baby, but
Michael was eighteen. Lucky changed tactics by giving Sonny some insight
into what it had been like for Lucky to grow up in Luke's shadow. Lucky
insisted that Michael's entire life had been defined by the choices that
Sonny had made. He urged Sonny to help Michael find a new path by giving
Michael some space. Lucky was certain that Sonny's heart was in the right
place, so he asked Sonny to think it over. Lucky bumped into Maxie on the pier. Maxie was agitated because Franco
had returned and she could no longer go to the dry cleaners without an
escort. She blamed herself for the situation because she had slept with
Franco. Maxie confessed that she had liked Franco before she had learned
the truth about him. She realized that it had been the air of danger that
had attracted her. Maxie was certain that she was damaged because she
hadn't appreciated what she had with Spinelli. Lucky suggested that they
were all damaged in some way. He advised Maxie to take a breath and relax;
he was confident that everything would work itself out. Lucky arrived home and Luke warned Lucky that Johnny had pushed Sonny
too far, so Sonny had decided to push back. Luke insisted that they needed
to get Ethan away from Johnny before Friday. Epiphany approached the nurses' station as Elizabeth showed Steve a
stack of files that she had completed. Satisfied, Steve announced that
Elizabeth was officially off duty. As Elizabeth prepared to leave, he saw
her pick up a book. Elizabeth explained that it was for Shirley; she hoped
that it would inspire Shirley to make some practical pieces of jewelry.
Steve sighed because he had some bad news for Elizabeth. Epiphany and
Steve revealed that Shirley had suffered a setback; her cancer had spread
to her brain. They gently reminded Elizabeth that Shirley's condition was
terminal, but Elizabeth insisted that she needed time to process the
latest news. Steve offered to be available whenever Elizabeth was ready to
talk. Elizabeth headed to Shirley's room a short time later. Shirley loved
the gift from Elizabeth, but she didn't want to use it as an excuse to
avoid bad news. Shirley matter-of-factly informed Elizabeth that the
cancer had spread. Elizabeth suggested that perhaps Patrick could help
because he was the best neurosurgeon available. Shirley promised to
consider Patrick if the doctors offered surgery as an option. 6/30 At Lucky's apartment, Luke was packing when Lucky walked into the
living room. Lucky was curious if Luke were moving back in with Tracy.
Luke revealed that he would be leaving town for a while because he didn't
want to take advantage of Lucky's hospitality. Lucky assured Luke that he
didn't have to leave; Lucky had enjoyed having his father around. Luke
continued packing, which prompted Lucky to ask why Luke was really
leaving. "To give Tracy a chance to miss me," Luke confessed.
Lucky didn't see the logic in Luke's plan because he thought that Tracy
would be more apt to forgive Luke if Luke stayed in Port Charles to show
her how sorry he was. Luke explained that absence made the heart grow
fonder with Tracy. Lucky suspected that there was another reason for
Luke's sudden departure, but Luke was adamant that his only motive was to
win back the woman that he loved. Luke admitted that Tracy had turned his life around. Lucky agreed;
Tracy had challenged Luke to move forward. Luke was confident that he knew
what he was doing, so Lucky stopped trying to persuade his father to stay.
Lucky confessed that he didn't know how he would have handled things with
Elizabeth if Luke hadn't been around. Luke offered Lucky some parting
advice. According to Luke, Lucky always got into trouble when he tried to
do the right thing. Luke urged Lucky to trust himself because Lucky's
instincts were infallible. Lucky hugged his father and then left. Luke let
his children know that his first destination was Zurich; however, he had
no idea where he was headed from there. He told his children that he was
proud of them and promised to return when Tracy was ready for him to make
an honest woman of her. Luke hugged his children and then asked them to
occasionally check on Tracy. After Luke left, Lucky bet his siblings one
hundred dollars that love wasn't the only reason that Luke had left town.
As if on cue, Tracy arrived. Tracy demanded to know where Luke was; he had
stolen ten million dollars from her. At the hospital, Lisa and Steve reviewed Shirley's limited options with
Elizabeth. Elizabeth realized that Shirley would die, but she argued that
her friend could live longer. Steve insisted that brain surgery was risky
and complicated. Lisa suggested that Patrick could operate if his
suspension were lifted. After Lisa turned away, Elizabeth tried to
persuade her brother to change his mind about Patrick. Lisa listened as
Steve revealed that Patrick's suspension wasn't the problem. He explained
that the surgery was experimental and that the insurance wouldn't cover it
because Shirley was terminal. Elizabeth suggested that perhaps Patrick
could do the surgery pro bono. Steve argued that he couldn't ask the
surgical team to operate for free. Steve pointed out that they didn't even
know if Shirley would agree to the surgery. Elizabeth admitted that she
had discussed it with Shirley and that Shirley was open to it. Steve
wished that Elizabeth had discussed it with him first. He explained that
they didn't have the discretionary funds to cover the operation. Steve
promised that he would do everything in his power to make Shirley
comfortable, but that was all that he could do. Elizabeth decided to check on Shirley. Shirley was surprised that
Elizabeth was still talking to her. "Why shouldn't I?" Elizabeth
wondered. Shirley admitted that she didn't have the right to tell
Elizabeth to stop carrying a torch for Lucky. Elizabeth assured Shirley
that she would always welcome Shirley's honesty and advice, even if she
didn't always heed it. Shirley insisted that Elizabeth deserved to be
happy. Nikolas entered the room moments later. Shirley smiled as she
confessed that they had been talking about him. "Shirley,"
Elizabeth scolded her friend. Shirley was touched when Nikolas announced
that he had a gift for her. Nikolas handed Shirley a jewelry box, which
she opened. Shirley was flattered that a handsome man like Nikolas had
thought to give her such a beautiful gift. Elizabeth asked to speak to Nikolas in the hallway to break the news
that Shirley's cancer had spread to her brain. Nikolas wondered what he
could do to help. Elizabeth told him about the surgery and then admitted
that she wasn't ready to see her friend die. She also explained that the
surgery would ease Shirley's suffering and give her some dignity.
Elizabeth realized that she didn't have the right to ask anything of
Nikolas. Nikolas cut her off to let her know that he would cover all of
Shirley's medical expenses. Elizabeth didn't know how to thank him.
Nikolas didn't think it was necessary; it was enough for him to know that
she had felt that she could turn to him for help. Patrick arrived at the hospital a short time later. Elizabeth, Steve,
and Lisa filled Patrick in on Shirley's situation. Patrick reviewed the
records and then agreed to do the surgery. Patrick invited Lisa to be part
of his team and then went to Shirley's room. Shirley was pleased that
Patrick would operate on her. Lisa assured Shirley that Patrick was the
best, so she was in good hands. Shirley admitted that she was impressed
with Patrick's bedside manner. Patrick chuckled as he confessed that he
had never been known for that. Patrick turned serious as he questioned if
Shirley truly wanted to go through with the surgery. Shirley promised that
she was ready. Elizabeth stayed by Shirley's side as Shirley was prepared
for surgery. Elizabeth vowed to be waiting for her friend in recovery.
Before the anesthesia took effect, Shirley handed Elizabeth something to
hold for her. Steve walked in to tell Patrick the latest test results on
Shirley. It wasn't good; Shirley's cancer had spread. Patrick was
determined to give Shirley a miracle, so he headed to the operating room.
Patrick stopped short when he spotted Elizabeth. He explained that he
wanted her to leave. Elizabeth realized that he didn't want her in the
operating room because Shirley's condition was worse than they had
thought. Patrick assured Elizabeth that he was there to help Shirley. 7/1 At Lucky's apartment, Tracy demanded to know where Luke was. She
intended to press charges against him for stealing ten million dollars
from her account. Lucky, Ethan, and Lulu claimed that they had no idea
where Luke was. They reminded Tracy that she and Luke had been down a
similar road before. Tracy explained that the difference was that she and
Luke were no longer married. Tracy was sick of Luke stealing her money.
Lucky insisted that Luke loved Tracy and wanted her to be in his life.
Tracy remained determined to have Luke arrested, so Lulu asked to speak to
Tracy alone. After Lucky and Ethan left, Lulu tried to plead her father's case. Lulu
admitted that she had never thought that she would root for anyone other
than her mother, Laura, but Tracy was good for Luke. Lulu confessed that
Tracy was a pretty terrific person. Tracy softened. She assured Lulu that
Lulu would always be a part of her life even if Luke weren't. Lulu asked
Tracy to give Luke another chance. Tracy was frustrated that Lulu
continued to make excuses for Luke the same way that she made them for
Dante. "Where did that come from?" Lulu wondered. Tracy wanted
Lulu to remember all of the compromises that Lulu had made for Dante.
Tracy was certain that there would be a day when Lulu would hear or see
something that would make Lulu feel as angry, hurt, and foolish as Tracy
felt at that moment because of Luke. In the hallway, Lucky mentioned that he had to go the hospital to
interview an assault victim, whom Lucky identified as one of the Lopez
brothers. Lucky was curious if Ethan knew anything about the attack. Lucky
wasn't surprised when Ethan denied having any knowledge about the
incident. Lucky revealed that Johnny had a similar response. Lucky
wondered if Ethan had any idea why Luke had been eager to get Ethan out of
town. "No clue," Ethan replied. Lucky suggested that perhaps it
was because Johnny was too dangerous. At the nurses' station, Steve wondered why Elizabeth wasn't in the
operating room with Shirley. Elizabeth explained that Patrick had asked
her to leave. She was certain that something was wrong with Shirley, so
she demanded that Steve tell her what was going on. Steve admitted that
Shirley's cancer had continued to spread. Elizabeth wanted to be there for
her friend. Steve assured Elizabeth that she would be if Shirley made it
through surgery. "When," Elizabeth corrected her brother. After Steve walked away, Elizabeth wandered to the waiting area.
Nikolas spotted her. He immediately sensed that something was wrong.
Elizabeth updated him on Shirley's condition and then thanked him for
helping her friend. Nikolas clarified that he thought very highly of
Shirley. Elizabeth smiled as she assured Nikolas that Shirley was equally
fond of him. Elizabeth admitted that Shirley made her see things in
Nikolas that Elizabeth had been trying to ignore. Nikolas was surprised
when Elizabeth confessed that she sometimes missed the connection that
they had once shared. "So do I," Nikolas revealed. Nikolas and Elizabeth were unaware that Lucky had rounded a corner.
Lucky stopped short and then watched them for a moment before walking
away. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Nikolas continued to talk about Shirley.
Elizabeth admired the way that Shirley could see the positive aspects of
most situations. Nikolas agreed. They decided that they would try to look
at the big picture instead of focusing on the small things, just as Steve
approached. Elizabeth turned to face her brother while Nikolas rested his
hands on Elizabeth's shoulders to offer her support. Elizabeth was
overjoyed when Steve revealed that Shirley had made it through surgery.
Elizabeth reached up to grasp one of Nikolas' hands in her elation, which
didn't escape Nikolas' notice. 7/8 Elizabeth and Nikolas entered Shirley's hospital room to find
Shirley indulging in a huge breakfast. Shirley explained that the Metro
Court Restaurant had sent the breakfast over. Nikolas was surprised when
Shirley thanked him for it. He quickly clarified that he had nothing to do
with the breakfast. Shirley revealed that she had ordered the breakfast
and then charged it to Nikolas' account because she figured that he could
afford it, since he had covered all of her medical expenses. Elizabeth and
Nikolas smiled. Nikolas was happy to see that Shirley was feeling better,
but he couldn't stay because he had promised to take Spencer riding. After
Nikolas left, Shirley offered Elizabeth something to eat. She was
surprised when Elizabeth declined. Shirley confessed that she had a very
healthy appetite during her pregnancies. Elizabeth was shocked by the confession; she had no idea that Shirley
had children because Shirley had never mentioned them before. "That
doesn't mean that they don't exist," Shirley replied. Elizabeth
wondered if Shirley would like her to contact them, so that they could
help handle Shirley's affairs. Shirley confided that her affairs had been
a lot like Elizabeth's, which was why Shirley had made a point not to
mention them. Shirley went on to reveal that she had once had a man like
Lucky in her life. Elizabeth was stunned to learn that Shirley had been in
love with a man named Ralph, who had left Shirley heartbroken when he had
left town. Shirley confessed that she had moved on with Ralph's best
friend, Leonard. Shirley and Leonard eventually married and had two
children: a boy and a girl. Shirley admitted that it had been a good life, even though there had
been times when she and Leonard had to grit their teeth to get through it.
Everything had changed when Shirley met up with Ralph one day. According
to Shirley, all the old feelings had returned and then flourished. Shirley
ended up leaving her husband and children to marry Ralph. Elizabeth
wondered what had happened after that. Shirley revealed that she had
finally had the life that she had always dreamed of until Ralph died.
Afterwards, Shirley had been diagnosed with cancer. Shirley admitted that
a part of her had been relieved because it meant that she could be
reunited with Ralph. Elizabeth was curious if Shirley had ever regretted
leaving her children for Ralph. "No," Shirley confessed, but her
children had never forgiven her, so she did have regrets. In Sonny's office at Pozzulo's, Lucky explained that he had some
questions about the bomb that had been planted in Johnny's car. Sonny
informed Lucky that he had already given a statement to the police. Lucky
recalled how deeply affected Sonny had been by Lily's tragic death, so he
couldn't wrap his head around the idea that Sonny would use a bomb under
any circumstances. Sonny admitted that he carried Lily and their unborn
child's deaths with him every day, so he thanked God every second that
Kristina was alive and safe. Sonny was curious what the point of Lucky's
visit was. Lucky confessed that he just wanted to keep everyone safe.
Sonny assured Lucky that he wanted the same thing. Sonny made a point of accusing Johnny of using Kristina before
reminding Lucky that Johnny had made many enemies, including the Lopez
brothers who were known to eliminate their enemies by planting bombs.
Sonny concluded his rant by insisting that Kristina was in danger every
second that she spent with Johnny. Lucky warned Sonny that everyone Sonny
loved was in danger, but Sonny insisted that he could protect his loved
ones. Sonny conceded that it would be easy to pin the explosion on him,
but if Sonny were taken out of the equation then the peace that Sonny had
brokered between the families would fall apart. Sonny promised that the
police would have a war on their hands. Lucky feared that Sonny's grudge
would eventually lead to Sonny's arrest if Sonny didn't back off. Sonny
appreciated Lucky's concern, but it wasn't Sonny's problem. At the police station, Lucky told Claire about Lily's death and how
losing his wife and child had nearly destroyed Sonny. Lucky admitted that
he would never have believed that Sonny would use a bomb, but that had
changed. Lucky was certain that Sonny had been responsible for the
explosion. Claire revealed that Sonny had flirted with her on several
occasions, so she intended to use that to her advantage. Claire hoped to
gain Sonny's trust by pretending to be receptive to his advances. She
intended to use whatever Sonny revealed to her to build a case against
him. Lucky warned her to be careful. He reminded her that others had tried
to use the same tactic with disastrous results. Lucky suggested that she
not do such a good job of pretending to fall for Sonny that she actually
did. Elizabeth arrived at the police station to talk to Lucky. Lucky wasn't
available, so she was asked to wait. After Elizabeth sat down, she spotted
Lucky enter an interrogation room where Maxie was waiting. Elizabeth was
stunned to see Maxie greet Lucky with a passionate kiss. 7/9 Maxie passionately kissed Lucky at the police station while
Elizabeth looked on. Lucky, thrown for a loop, asked what had prompted her
to kiss him. Maxie babbled about how Matt had kissed her and that she was
concerned because it had been pleasant so she wanted to do a comparison
with someone else whom she enjoyed kissing, Lucky. She told him that he
still had the touch, which Lucky bashfully appreciated. As he walked Maxie
out, Elizabeth confronted her and called her a slut. Maxie replied that
whatever happened with Lucky was none of her business. She called
attention to the fact that Elizabeth was pregnant with one child and had
two others for a total of three, all of whom had different fathers.
"And you're calling me a slut?" she intoned. Lucky put an end to
the exchange and Maxie left after calling him "hot lips."
Elizabeth asked Lucky to explain what had just happened, but he declined.
She begged him not to get back together with Maxie, but he told her that
the past was in the past, and it was no longer Elizabeth's concern. Elizabeth arrived at the park to find Nikolas and Spencer. Nikolas told
her that he was trying to get it right with his son. Elizabeth apologized
for having tried to keep Nikolas out of her baby's life. She asked him if
he wanted to be there when she delivered and suggested that he consider
becoming her birth coach. Nikolas promised to try not to be overwhelming
and thought that being a birth coach would be a Cassadine first. Claire arrived at the police station and asked Lucky for an update on
the car bombing. He explained that there was no evidence that tied the
crime to Sonny or anyone else. She told Lucky, who was aware of her plan
to trick Sonny into incriminating himself, that she'd almost choked when
she apologized to Sonny for assuming he'd been responsible for the
bombing. Lucky asked Claire what her next move was. She replied that she'd
"accidentally" left her bracelet behind at Sonny's restaurant
and that she'd have to go back to get it. Lucky conveyed to her that he
thought the plan was ill-conceived. 7/12 At the Port Charles Police Department, Lucky questioned Johnny
about the car bomb. After Johnny told his story, Lucky agreed with him
that Sonny, not the Lopez brothers, was the better suspect in the car
bombing. Lucky called Ethan down to the station and questioned him. Lucky
wanted to know why Ethan had not been with Johnny at the time of the car
bombing, as he had originally planned. Ethan told Lucky that he was
keeping a commitment to Luke to pay off Luke's cigar dealer. Lucky told
Ethan that it was likely that Sonny had given Luke a heads-up about the
bomb, so that Luke could figure out a way to protect Ethan. Claire tells Sonny that Lucky has gone to Argentina to follow up on a
very promising lead in the car bombing. 7/13 Shirley was delighted when Nikolas entered her hospital room with
a bouquet of beautiful flowers for her. She jokingly wondered where he had
been thirty years ago. Nikolas was happy to see that Shirley was
recovering nicely from her surgery. Shirley assured Nikolas that she
didn't have any intention of dying any time soon before she changed the
subject. She was curious why Nikolas seemed to be in such a good mood.
Nikolas confessed that he had some news. Elizabeth had agreed to allow him
to be a part of the baby's delivery. Nikolas was excited that Elizabeth
had invited him to attend birthing classes with her. Shirley was thrilled
for Nikolas and promised to stick around for the baby's birth. Elizabeth
was smiling when she entered the room; she admitted that she had overheard
part of Nikolas and Shirley's conversation. Shirley didn't think they
would have long to wait for the baby's birth, if the size of Elizabeth's
belly were anything to go by. Elizabeth chuckled as she revealed that she
was approximately a month away from her due date. Shirley was curious if
the baby was a boy or a girl, but Nikolas explained that they wanted to be
surprised, so they had decided not to find out. Shirley applauded their
decision and then took the opportunity to thank Nikolas and Elizabeth for
everything that they had done for her. Shirley decided to repay them by
making a special piece of rose quartz jewelry for the baby. Later, Helena bumped into Elizabeth in the hallway. Helena wanted to
discuss the arrangements for the baby after its birth, but Elizabeth made
it clear that Helena would not be involved in the baby's life. Helena
reminded Elizabeth that she was the baby's great-grandmother. Elizabeth
was curious how Nikolas would feel about Helena's determination to be
around the baby, but then Elizabeth remembered that Nikolas had tossed
Helena out. Helena warned Elizabeth that Nikolas would never turn his back
on family. Elizabeth disagreed. Elizabeth was confident that Nikolas would
do anything to make Elizabeth and the baby happy. Elizabeth was certain
that if she were to agree to move to Wyndemere with the children, on the
condition that Nikolas run Helena out of town, Helena would be gone
without a second thought. Helena cautioned Elizabeth not to be
overconfident, but Elizabeth wasn't intimidated. "If you think I'm a
bitch now, try messing with my child," Elizabeth warned Helena and
then walked away. When Elizabeth spotted Nikolas, she told him about her
encounter with Helena. Nikolas was annoyed that his grandmother had been
harassing Elizabeth. He promised Elizabeth that he would take care of it.
He assured Elizabeth that she and the baby were his priority. 7/14 At the hospital, Helena tried to engage Nikolas in a conversation,
but he made it clear that he didn't want anything to do with his
grandmother. Helena wondered if Nikolas were mad at her because of what
had happened in Greece with Luke and Tracy. Nikolas reminded Helena that
Tracy had almost died because of what Helena had done. Helena didn't
appear to have an ounce of remorse for what she had done. Elizabeth
approached Nikolas moments later to let him know that the boys were ready
to be picked up from daycare. Helena was curious if Elizabeth and Nikolas
had plans to go to dinner together. Elizabeth let Helena know that it was
none of Helena's business. Nikolas smiled and then walked away with
Elizabeth. Later, Elizabeth and Nikolas arrived at Elizabeth's house with Cameron
and Jake in tow. Elizabeth thanked Nikolas for dinner. Nikolas took the
opportunity to let her know that he had been impressed with how she had
handled Helena. Elizabeth confessed that it had been fun. Nikolas chuckled
and then changed the subject. He didn't want Elizabeth to feel pressured,
but he wondered if they could get together the following day, so that
Spencer, Cameron, and Jake could play. Elizabeth readily agreed. After
Nikolas left, Elizabeth started to go into the house, but stopped short
when a wave of dizziness washed over her. Elizabeth sent the boys to their
room and then sat down on porch step until it passed. 7/15 At Wyndemere, Elizabeth and Nikolas watched their children play
together. Spencer wondered if it would be okay to take Jake and Cameron to
meet his pony. Cameron squealed with the delight at the prospect of riding
the pony. Elizabeth gave her permission for Cameron to ride, provided that
an adult present. The boys jumped up and then raced to the stables.
Nikolas called out to the boys to wait for him and then turned expectantly
to Elizabeth. Elizabeth confessed that she would rather rest instead of
walking all the way to the stables. After Nikolas left, Elizabeth's smile
disappeared as she winced in pain. She rubbed her abdomen, in an effort to
ease the discomfort, and then leaned back against the sofa. Later, Cameron
ran into the room to tell his mother that he had ridden Spencer's horse,
Nipit. Cameron grew concerned when he noticed his mother grimace. Nikolas
immediately realized that something was wrong. Nikolas' fears were
confirmed when Elizabeth asked him to take her to the hospital because she
was in labor. Elizabeth was having painful contractions by the time she arrived at
the hospital. Nikolas demanded that someone page Dr. Lee while Steve
instructed a nurse to take Elizabeth to a room. Elizabeth reminded Steve
and Nikolas that she had given birth before, so they could relax. After
Elizabeth was settled in a bed, she and Nikolas admitted that they were
excited about meeting their new child. Steve entered the room moments
later to see how his sister was doing. Elizabeth sent Nikolas to check on
Cameron and Jake in the daycare center, so that she could have a moment
alone with her brother. Once Nikolas left, Steve admitted that the real purpose of his visit
was to see if Elizabeth wanted him to call Lucky. Elizabeth thought about
it for a minute and then confessed that Lucky didn't really have a place
there. Elizabeth explained that Nikolas was the father of the baby, so he
was the one that she needed by her side. Steve smiled in approval. Nikolas
returned moments later with news that Cameron and Jake were eager to know
when the baby would be born. Steve left to look for Kelly, so Nikolas
offered to get Elizabeth something to eat or drink. Elizabeth wasn't
hungry, but she appreciated that Nikolas and Steve were so eager to help
her. Nikolas advised Elizabeth to get used to it because it would continue
long after the baby was born. Robin entered the room with some paperwork
for Elizabeth to sign. Robin confided that Steve was a nervous wreck about
the baby, so he had put everyone on alert. Elizabeth reviewed the
paperwork while Robin slid a patient identification bracelet on
Elizabeth's wrist. The ID ended with the number sixty-six. At the police station, Lucky walked up as Claire ranted at Sonny about
him kissing her. Lucky apologized for bursting Claire's romantic bubble,
but, Sonny was there at Lucky's behest. Sonny smiled smugly as he added to
Claire's embarrassment by teasing her about outburst. After Claire fled
the interrogation room, Lucky accused Sonny of trying to distract Claire
from the investigation. Lucky made it clear that Sonny wouldn't have the
same success with him. Sonny recalled the years of friendship that he and
Lucky had shared; he was curious when Lucky had turned against him. Lucky
explained that he couldn't look away when mobsters tried to blow each
other up, even for Sonny. Lucky suggested that all of the signs pointed to
Sonny as the culprit behind the bombing. Sonny hoped that the
investigation didn't cause a conflict between them. Lucky admitted that he
respected Sonny; however, Lucky pointed out that he was a cop, while Sonny
was the crime boss of Port Charles, so that automatically put them at
odds. After Sonny left, Claire realized that Lucky's trip to Argentina hadn't
been successful, since Sonny hadn't been arrested. Lucky was concerned
about what was going on between Claire and Sonny. Claire assured Lucky
that she wasn't falling for Sonny, but Lucky reminded her of the kiss that
she and Sonny had shared. Claire insisted that it was part of her plan to
seduce Sonny to gain enough information to press charges against him. She
couldn't wait to see Sonny's expression when he realized that she had
played him. Claire explained that Sonny's weakness was women, so she
intended to use that to her advantage. Lucky suggested that they put a
wager on her determination to send Sonny to jail. If she successfully
prosecuted Sonny then he would take her to dinner at a restaurant of her
choice. Claire readily agreed. However, she suggested that Lucky work on
his own personal issues before he dispensed romantic advice to others. At the hospital, Maxie's cell phone rang while she waited for Robin. It
was Lucky. Lucky asked Maxie to drop by the police station because he
needed to talk to her. Maxie promised that she would try and then ended
the call. 7/16 When Maxie arrived at the police station at Lucky's behest, he
asked her if she wanted to go to a concert in the park. Before answering
the question, she told him that Elizabeth had gone into labor. Maxie
reassured Lucky that Elizabeth was fine and asked if he planned to go to
the hospital. He replied that he had no need to and repeated his question.
Maxie agreed to go out with him. After the concert, Maxie and Lucky
returned to Crimson. She told him that she thought he should have been on
stage. Lucky modestly replied that he wasn't talented enough. He shared
with Maxie that he admired her for having found the world that was right
for her and excelling in it. Lucky began to say his goodbyes, and Maxie
assumed that he was on his way to check on Elizabeth. He denied that he
was and told her that Elizabeth had everything she needed without him. In Elizabeth's hospital room, she joked with Robin and Nikolas about
how to put on a patient I.D. bracelet. As Robin left, Dr. Lee arrived and
told Elizabeth and Nikolas that it was always better to delay labor until
the baby reached full term, but that if the baby came that night, it would
be all right, because there were no complications. Dr. Lee left, and
Nikolas told Elizabeth that the thought of holding their baby in his arms
that night was appealing. Elizabeth admitted that she'd misjudged him.
Nikolas apologized for his behavior as well. Elizabeth's contractions
resumed. Dr. Lee returned and confidently announced that it was time. 7/19 At General Hospital, an unseen Lucky looked on from outside the
labor room as Dr. Lee and Nikolas helped Elizabeth deliver her baby. Maxie
caught up to Lucky and told him that she knew he could not stay away from
Elizabeth, which was why she had gone to the police station earlier to
tell him that Elizabeth was in labor. Lucky got defensive. He told Maxie
that it was none of her business, as he escorted her to the elevator. She
said he made it her business when he asked her out to a concert. As he
watched the elevator doors close on Maxie, Lucky angrily told her that
anything was better than self-destructing with her. Elizabeth pushed one
last time and delivered a healthy baby boy. After Dr. Lee left them alone,
Elizabeth held the baby and Nikolas sat on the bed next to her with his
arm around her shoulder. Companionably, they discussed their beautiful
baby. Nikolas wanted to know what Elizabeth intended to name the baby. She
asked Nikolas what he thought and apologized for trying to shut Nikolas
out of the baby's life. Nikolas said that Spencer had suggested Buzz
Lightyear. They both laughed when Elizabeth said that Cameron and Jake
would like that name also. Elizabeth said that she wanted something more
traditional. Nikolas suggested that they name the child after Elizabeth's father,
but she did not think that "Jeff Cassadine" sounded right, and
she also said that she and her dad were not that close. Elizabeth said she
was partial to the name "Aiden." When Nikolas added, "Alexi
Nikolosovich." Both agreed that "Aiden Alexi Nikolosovich
Cassadine" was the perfect name. Elizabeth giggled when she said that
they boys would probably nickname him "Buzz" Elizabeth gave
Nikolas a lesson on holding an infant. He was delighted with his son. They
were both cooing over the baby when a nurse wheeled Shirley into the room.
They were glad to see her. She held the baby and gave him a good luck
charm that she had made for him. Elizabeth was holding Aiden while Nikolas
and Shirley talked about the baby's future. Dr. Lee entered and got the
numbers off Elizabeth and Aiden's hospital tags. Maxie was home on the couch eating ice cream and reading a fashion
magazine when Lucky knocked on the door. She told him to go away, but
Lucky said that he had a peace offering. Once inside, he told Maxie that
she had been right about what she said. Lucky told Maxie that even though
logically he was glad that the baby was not his, his heart wanted it to
be. While Maxie ate the cookies that Lucky had given her as a peace
offering, he said that he wanted to be friends, but he thought that they
both knew that they were not in a place where they could become involved
with each other. 7/20 Nikolas took Aiden to Elizabeth's hospital room for a visit. As
Nikolas handed the infant to Elizabeth, he jokingly assured her that he
hadn't changed the baby's name to Ivan or anything along those lines.
Elizabeth worried that Nikolas might not like their son's name, but
Nikolas assured her that he did. Elizabeth looked down at her son and then
noticed that he had Nikolas' eyes. Helena entered the room to find Nikolas
and Elizabeth smiling down at their newborn son. Helena exclaimed with
delight that the baby bore a striking resemblance to Nikolas' father.
Helena gleefully suggested that Nikolas and Elizabeth name the baby
Stavros to honor the Cassadine legacy. Nikolas informed Helena that they
had named the baby Aiden Alexi Nikolosovich Cassadine. Helena was
horrified by the choice of names because the first name was gauche, tacky,
and pretentious, while the second name honored Mikkos' illegitimate
daughter, Alexis. Elizabeth smiled serenely as she suggested that Helena could take
comfort in knowing that they would call Aiden by his nickname, Buzz.
Helena was aghast. Helena argued that Buzz was a suitable name for a
Spencer, but not a Cassadine. Helena was disgusted that Nikolas was trying
to appease Elizabeth by letting her choose the baby's name. Helena urged
Nikolas to consider naming the baby Ivan or Yuri. Nikolas made it clear
that the baby's name would remain Aiden. Helena angrily accused Elizabeth
of wanting the baby to be Lucky's, but Elizabeth warned Helena that her
ploy wouldn't work. Elizabeth freely admitted that there had been a time
when she had hoped that Lucky would turn out to be the baby's father;
however, they had worked things out. Elizabeth refused to allow Helena to
drive a wedge between Elizabeth and Nikolas by using Elizabeth's past
mistakes. Elizabeth advised Helena to get used to Aiden's name because he was
perfect. Elizabeth insisted that she wouldn't change anything about her
newborn son, including who his father was. Helena sputtered in outrage as
Nikolas ordered Helena to leave. Helena acknowledged that Elizabeth had
played her role beautifully, but Helena vowed that it would be all the
more gratifying when she put Elizabeth in her place. Nikolas returned to
Elizabeth's room a short time later with Cameron and Jake in tow.
Elizabeth was curious where Spencer was. Nikolas explained that Spencer
had a cold, so he had stayed at home. Nikolas introduced Cameron and Jake
to the baby and then announced that the visit had to be short because he
had promised to return the boys to Audrey as soon as possible. Nikolas
enlisted Cameron and Jake's help to wheel Aiden's bassinet to the nursery
because Elizabeth was scheduled for a checkup with Kelly. When Nikolas returned to Elizabeth's room, he let her know that Audrey
had agreed to keep Cameron and Jake for a few extra days, so that
Elizabeth could settle in at home with Aiden. Elizabeth announced that
Kelly had cleared her to go home, so she was ready. Nikolas offered to
drive Elizabeth home, which scored major points with Elizabeth. She was
impressed that he hadn't tried to persuade her to go to Wyndemere. Nikolas
assured Elizabeth that the offer to stay at Wyndemere would always be
open. Elizabeth appreciated Nikolas invitation, but she wanted to take
things one step at a time. After Elizabeth changed clothes, she and
Nikolas went to the nursery to collect their son. They were surprised when
they discovered that his bassinet was empty. Elizabeth checked with a
nurse to find out where Aiden was, but the nurse was perplexed. Nikolas
grew anxious as he asked if the nurse were suggesting that she didn't have
any idea where the baby was. 7/21 In the hospital's nursery, Nikolas was in a panic over his missing
son, while Elizabeth tried desperately to remain calm. Steve checked the
records, which indicated that Aiden should have been in the nursery.
Nikolas was certain that Helena was behind Aiden's disappearance, but
Elizabeth pointed out that there could have been a simple mix-up and that
Aiden had perhaps been taken for some tests. When Lucky showed up, Nikolas
shared his concerns about Helena with his brother. Lucky instructed Steve
to put the hospital on lockdown and then advised Elizabeth to return to
her room. Elizabeth was baffled why she should wait in her room instead of
searching the hospital for her newborn son. She pointed out that she was
extremely familiarwith the hospital. Lucky explained that Elizabeth needed
to be questioned, so that they could rule her out as a possible suspect.
Elizabeth was stunned that Lucky would think that she had anything to do
with her child's disappearance. Lucky quickly assured her that he didn't
suspect her of any wrongdoing, but it was procedure to question the
parents first. He promised her that it was the best way to find Aiden. In Elizabeth's hospital room, Elizabeth admitted that she desperately
wanted to help search for her son, but Nikolas urged her to cooperate with
the police. He then confessed that he regretted yelling at Helena because
he feared that it might have set her off. Elizabeth worried that Helena
would flee to Russia with Aiden just as she had done with Spencer. She
hated thinking about the worst-case scenario, but she couldn't sit around
doing nothing. Helena was furious when she discovered that the hospital doors were
locked. She turned to a nurse to demand that the nurse open the door, but
the nurse couldn't help her. Helena quickly found an orderly, but as they
approached the main doors to the lobby, Lucky suddenly appeared. Lucky
didn't mince words as he demanded to know, "Where the hell is my
little nephew?" Helena was surprised by the question, but Lucky
reminded her that she was a skilled liar, so he escorted her to
Elizabeth's hospital room. Nikolas and Elizabeth ordered Helena to tell
them where their son was. Helena insisted that she didn't have anything to
do with Aiden's disappearance. Nikolas didn't believe his grandmother
because she had always been obsessed with the Cassadine heir. "But
darling," Helena patiently explained, "your poor little Aidan
isn't the Cassadine heir." Nikolas, Elizabeth, and Lucky wore
matching expressions of confusion. Nikolas demanded to know what Helena
had meant by the remark. Helena calmly reminded Nikolas that Spencer was
the true Cassadine heir and always had been. Helena suggested that they
stop badgering her because they were just giving the real kidnapper time
to get away. 7/22 At the hospital, an unknown person wheeled Aiden's empty crib into
a vacant operating room and then left. In Elizabeth's hospital room, Lucky threatened to throw Helena into a
holding cell until she revealed where Aiden was. Helena insisted that she
had nothing to do with the disappearance of Nikolas and Elizabeth's infant
son. Nikolas didn't believe his grandmother; he argued that the kidnapping
had her stamp all over it. Elizabeth implored Helena to tell her where the
baby was. Lucky, Nikolas, and Elizabeth were surprised when Helena offered
to help them find the baby. Helena's eagerness to help made Nikolas more
certain than ever that Helena was behind the kidnapping. He reminded her
that just a few short hours earlier, Helena had been making threats. Lucky
decided to check in with hospital security to see if there had been any
new developments; he ordered Helena and Nikolas to behave and then left.
Elizabeth took a moment to call Audrey to see how Cameron and Jake were.
After she ended the call, she told Nikolas that the boys were playing in
the backyard. Elizabeth wondered what was next. Nikolas explained that they had to
wait. Elizabeth nodded in Helena's direction as she asked, "And
her?" "She waits too," Nikolas answered. Helena snorted
indignantly. Helena was willing to sit there as long as it took. Helena
also volunteered to give the police full access to her hotel room and jet,
and to turn over her cell phone, in order to prove that she had nothing to
do with Aiden's disappearance. Nikolas studied his grandmother for a long
moment and then told her to leave. Elizabeth was stunned as she watched
Helena walk out. Nikolas knew his grandmother better than anyone; he could
tell when she was lying. Nikolas assured Elizabeth that Helena had nothing
to do with Aiden's abduction. Elizabeth was upset; at least Helena had
been the devil that they knew. A short time later, Mac arrived to question
Elizabeth about Aiden's disappearance. He promised to do everything he
could to find her baby. After he left to mobilize his men, Shirley entered Elizabeth's room.
Elizabeth was surprised to see her friend. Shirley's joy at seeing
Elizabeth turned to sorrow when she learned that Aiden had been taken from
the nursery. Shirley realized that her urgency to see Elizabeth had been
about Elizabeth's need to be with her friend, not Shirley's. Elizabeth
admitted that she was scared. Shirley assured Elizabeth that she was there
for her friend. Elizabeth didn't understand how Aiden could be gone.
Shirley wondered if Elizabeth were certain that Aiden was still in the
hospital. Elizabeth explained that ankle monitors were put on all newborns
and that only special devices could remove them. If someone were to try to
leave with a newborn without removing the ankle monitor then the doors
would automatically lock. Elizabeth believed that her baby was in the
hospital, but she had no idea where. Shirley was confident that Aiden
would be found, so she urged Elizabeth to keep making plans for the baby. Elizabeth was grateful to have Shirley in her life. Shirley assured
Elizabeth that the feeling was mutual; Elizabeth had lifted Shirley's
heart. Shirley pulled a necklace out of her pocket and then handed it to
Elizabeth as she revealed that she had made it especially for Elizabeth.
Shirley wanted Elizabeth to have something to remember her by. Elizabeth
cherished the gift; she insisted that it was the most beautiful piece she
would ever own. Elizabeth helped Shirley back to bed and then ordered her
friend to stay put. Shirley promised that she would because Elizabeth had
enough on her plate. Elizabeth smiled as she confessed, "You know
that I love you, right?" "Like my own name," Shirley
assured her. Shirley revealed that Elizabeth had been her family, which
had been a gift beyond measure. Elizabeth decided to check on the progress
of the search, but she promised to return immediately afterwards. Kristina suddenly appeared in the hallway screaming for help. Lucky,
Ethan, and Maya quickly followed Kristina. Lucky and Ethan pulled Michael
off of Warren. Warren immediately demanded that Michael be arrested and
put back in his cage. Warren claimed that it had been an unprovoked
attack. Kristina insisted that Warren was lying, but Lucky cut her off.
Lucky said that he would like to help Warren, but he hadn't seen an
attack. Warren was outraged as everyone in the room quickly agreed with
Lucky. Warren was infuriated that Lucky was protecting a mobster and his
family. Lucky had no idea what Warren was talking about. Lucky claimed
that he had seen Michael try to help Warren after Warren had tripped and
then fallen. Kristina quickly agreed with Lucky. Warren threatened to call
the police commissioner to get a forensics team to gather proof that
Michael had attacked him. Mac entered the room. Before Warren could tell his story, Lucky asked
Mac about a hypothetical scenario in which Warren had bullied Kristina,
Michael had taken action in defense of his sister, and all of the
witnesses contradicted Warren's claims of an unprovoked attack. Mac made
it clear that Warren would be arrested, which further enraged Warren.
Warren insisted that a conspiracy between the cops and the criminals had
killed his son. Warren vowed that he would get justice for Kiefer if it
were the last thing that he did. After Warren left, everyone filed out of
the room. Maya and Ethan returned to the nurses' station, were Maya
complained that she was sick of self-centered asses like Warren Bauer who
thought that they could do whatever they wanted. She was also furious that
someone had the audacity to waltz into a nursery to take a newborn baby.
"Who does that?" she wanted to know. Ethan didn't have an
answer, but he admitted that, as much as he despised Kiefer for what he
had done to Kristina, he had sympathy for him after meeting Warren. Elizabeth checked in with Lucky and Nikolas to see if there had been
any word on Aiden. Nikolas assured her that he would let her know as soon
as there were any new developments. Elizabeth decided to stop off to see
Shirley and then head to her room. After Elizabeth walked away, Lucky
confided to Nikolas that he suspected that someone familiar with the
hospital had taken Aiden. Lucky decided to check the hospital's database
because it tracked the entire inventory. He hoped that they might see
something that was out of place. As Lucky and Nikolas checked the
computer, they noticed a crib in one of the operating rooms. Lucky and
Nikolas went to check it out. A few minutes later, they confirmed that it
had been Aiden's, but the infant was nowhere to be found. Lucky and
Nikolas were surprised when Franco's image suddenly appeared on all of the
monitors. Franco welcomed everyone to "Franco's Funhouse."
Elizabeth entered Shirley's room to find that her friend had passed away.
Elizabeth checked Shirley's pulse to confirm her suspicions. After she
turned off the machines, Elizabeth gently lifted Shirley's hand and held
it. 7/23 Careful preparations were made for Franco's art opening at the
Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Jason and Dante arrived at the
reception's security checkpoint. They assumed that they'd have to use
Dante's authority as a cop to get in but were told that they had been
expected. On a giant video screen, Franco's face appeared, "Ladies
and gentleman, boys and girls, saints and sinners, and especially you, Mr.
Morgan, welcome to Francophrenia, the blurring of lines between illusion
and reality. I will be your guide to the funhouse. But remember to keep
your seatbelts fastened, your hands outside of the car, and definitely
talk to strangers. And what you see is most definitely not what you get.
And one among us will not survive. Enjoy." Footage of Jason's final encounter with Franco in Franco's studio began
to play. Franco stood on some scaffolding, looking down at the scene. He
laughed as Jason and Dante desperately searched for him. Dante left with
the man who organized the event to view security footage. Franco revealed
himself by grabbing a woman and holding a gun to her head. Jason
confronted Franco, who asked Jason if he wanted to watch Franco take a
life or help save one. The woman he held was thrilled to be part of the
game. Thinking is was performance art, she and others urged Franco to
shoot her. Franco egged Jason on by encouraging Jason to shoot him in the
head. Franco's hostage began to worry that it wasn't a game, after all, and
told him to let her go, but he held on tighter and told her she wouldn't
make it through the night. Franco taunted Jason by telling him that
Carter, the man Jason killed because he'd raped Michael in prison, would
live on through Franco's work. He pointed to the video monitor, which
showed Carter holding up a photo of Michael. When Jason turned to view the
video, Franco pushed the woman into him and ran away. Jason gave chase but
couldn't make it through the crowd in time to apprehend him. Franco met up
with a videographer and spoke into the camera as a patron congratulated
him on the performance. He told her to direct Jason, should she run into
him. The videographer followed Franco into a stairwell where Franco
strangled him to death. Dante called Lucky, who updated him on the search for Aiden. Lucky told
Dante that Jason shouldn't kill Franco because he might be the only one
who knew where the baby was. Dante happened upon Lulu and demanded to know
why she was there. She replied that she was there to protect him from
Jason, who had it in for him. She explained that Jason wouldn't do
anything to Dante if she were there because Jason wouldn't betray Carly. Jason found his way to the stairwell, where he discovered Franco's
latest victim's body. Franco called out from a flight above and apologized
for not having had time to pose the body the way he'd wanted to. Jason
shot at Franco, who ran up another flight. The two engaged in a shootout
in between discussing Franco's obsession with Jason. Franco admitted that
he'd begun to understand why Jason cared so much for Michael when he'd met
Carly's daughter, Josslyn. Jason replied that Franco would never feel a
connection like that. During a performance on the main stage at the reception, Franco emerged
from the stairwell onto a catwalk. He yelled at someone not to kill him
and that he knew where the baby was, then he fell over the railing and
onto a "Route 66" road sign painted on the stage. Jason got to
the catwalk and saw Franco's body below. As Maxie went to visit Shirley, a hospital monitor's display of
Franco's speech diverted her attention. She made her way to Shirley's room
and was surprised to find Elizabeth standing over Shirley's sheet-draped
body. Elizabeth told Maxie that Shirley was gone. Maxie replied that,
though they'd just met, she knew Shirley was a good woman. Elizabeth began
to leave to visit her baby, but Maxie explained that Franco had taken
Aiden. Mac noticed that Mr. Bauer had a gun but, before he could take action,
Mr. Bauer lifted his gun and then began to fire. Mac and Ethan were shot
as Warren made his way to Kristina and Michael. He told her, "Look
what you made me do." Warren insisted that Kiefer had meant
everything to him. "You killed him," Warren angrily accused
before he aimed the gun at Kristina. Michael blocked his sister with his
own body as Kristina screamed. Mr. Bauer aimed at Kristina and a shot rang
out. Mac was able to squeeze off one shot before he passed out. Mr. Bauer
fell to the floor. Lucky and Nikolas watched Franco's transmission on a monitor in a
hospital room. On the screen, Franco announced that everyone would have to
play his game if they wanted to find the baby. Nikolas wanted to trace the
feed, but Lucky said that the broadcast likely wasn't live. He explained
that Franco had lured Jason and Dante to L.A. Nikolas wondered if Franco
had actually sent Dante and Jason on a wild goose chase so that he could
make his next move at the hospital. On the monitor, Franco began to speak
about the number "66," and Nikolas realized that Aiden's
hospital I.D. bracelet ended with that number. Elizabeth found Lucky and
Nikolas as Franco announced that the next level of his strategy was called
"Francophrenia." He stated that Aiden would be a big part of the
plan. Lucky, Nikolas, and Elizabeth left to search the hospital for clues. 7/26 While the music played at Franco's Los Angeles art exhibition, he
led Jason on a chase through the museum. It culminated when a body,
apparently that of Franco, fell from the rafters. Lulu and Dante were part
of the crowd that looked up to see Jason peering over the railing at the
fallen body. Lucky, Liz, and Nikolas were devastated when Franco
apparently died before giving up the location of Elizabeth's baby. Lucky
said that they had to find the accomplice. Nikolas told Lucky that he was
grateful that Lucky had put his anger aside to help find the baby. The
trio brainstormed and decided to check out all staff members who had been
on duty the previous twelve hours. A review of the list found a woman
named "Jane Morgan." Lucky thought it was eerily similar to
"Jason Morgan." Lucky had "Jane Morgan" paged. When
she failed to show, Elizabeth feared the worst had happened to her baby. 7/27 At the hospital, Elizabeth admitted to Nikolas that she couldn't
remain calm knowing that there was a strong likelihood that their son had
been spirited out of the hospital. She confessed that she had hopes that
Aiden would be found until they had learned about Jane Morgan. Nikolas
urged Elizabeth not to think the worst. They looked up when Steve
approached them. Elizabeth and Nikolas were horrified to learn about
Warren's rampage that had left Ethan and Mac seriously injured. They were
relieved to learn that both men would survive their injuries. Later, Steve returned to share his findings after speaking with the
staff and reviewing Jane Morgan's medical records. According to Steve,
Jane had been around during the time of Aiden's disappearance; however,
nothing in her file indicated that she would take the infant. Elizabeth
reminded Steve that Franco had announced to the entire hospital that he
had taken a baby whose identification bracelet ended with the number
sixty-six. Steve urged Elizabeth to get some rest, so Nikolas accompanied
Elizabeth to her room. After Elizabeth changed into a hospital gown, she lay down in bed. She
was exhausted. Nikolas sat at her bedside, holding her hand. He promised
her that he would wake her the moment that they found the baby. Nikolas
also assured her that he believed that Shirley was watching over their
son. Elizabeth wondered if Nikolas thought that Aiden's disappearance were
her punishment for wanting Lucky to be the father. "No, not at
all," Nikolas assured her. He didn't think that God would punish her
for being honest. Elizabeth drifted off to sleep moments later. Nikolas
reached out to gently stroke her hair and then confessed, "I love
you." 7/28 Elizabeth tried to get out of bed, but Nikolas stopped her. He
thought that she should get some rest, so that she would be strong enough
to hold their son after Aiden was found. Lucky entered Elizabeth's
hospital room a few moments later. "Please tell me you found
him," Elizabeth begged Lucky. Lucky shook his head as he answered,
"Not yet." Nikolas angrily blamed Jason; he couldn't understand
why Jason had to kill Franco. Elizabeth and Nikolas feared that Aiden
might not be in the hospital, so Nikolas decided to offer a five million
dollar reward for information that would lead to Aiden's recovery. Lucky
urged Nikolas to reconsider. Nikolas wondered if Lucky would if their
roles had been reversed. Nikolas quickly regretted his outburst, which he
attributed to frustration. Lucky understood; he assured Nikolas that the
police had a specific protocol to follow, which had been proven to work. Steve entered the room a short time later. Steve explained that the
hospital couldn't remain on lockdown indefinitely. According to Steve,
there were specialized tests that needed to be sent out and the staff
needed some relief. Steve also revealed that continually diverting
patients to Mercy Hospital had put a tremendous strain on the other
hospital's resources. Steve delicately suggested that they set a deadline
to end the lockdown. Lucky explained that if they opened the doors too
soon then Aiden's kidnapper might manage to escape with Aiden. Elizabeth
agreed with Lucky. Nikolas left the room to search for his son with a
renewed sense of urgency. Lucky agreed to allow a limited number of
approved staff members to enter the hospital to help with the workload,
but he stipulated that they would have to be cleared by the police first.
Steve appreciated the compromise. Steve assured his sister that he would
not allow anyone to leave the hospital. After Steve went to take care of
the necessary arrangements, Elizabeth sensed that Lucky had something on
his mind. Lucky worried that they had missed an obvious clue. Steve held a staff meeting at the nurses' station to let everyone know
about Lucky's decision. Lucky was on hand to answer questions and to
remind everyone that no one would be permitted to leave the hospital.
Steve asked everyone to keep their eyes open for Aiden; he reminded his
staff that the sooner the baby was found, the sooner the lockdown would be
lifted. After the staff meeting, Steve pulled Lucky aside to talk about
Aiden. Steve knew that the first few hours after a kidnapping were
critical. Lucky confirmed that, under most circumstances, it was true.
Steve worried that it was too late for Aidan. Lucky was frustrated because
he couldn't figure out what Franco had wanted with the baby; he was
certain if he had an answer to that question then he could find their
nephew. Lucky commented that Franco had a habit of hiding in plain sight.
Steve was surprised when Lucky suddenly announced that he might have
answered his own question. After Lucky walked away, Steve decided to check on his sister. He
scolded Elizabeth when he found her out of bed. Steve suggested that she
should have called a nurse if she needed help. Elizabeth wondered if a
nurse would help her find her son. Steve assured Elizabeth that everyone
was looking for Aiden. Elizabeth lashed out at her brother. She demanded
to know how her son could have been taken from the nursery when it was
supposed to have been the safest place in the hospital. Elizabeth angrily
blamed her brother for her son's disappearance. Nikolas entered the
nursery to find his brother waiting for him. Lucky handed his brother an
ankle monitor as he explained that the nurses could track all of the ankle
monitors. Nikolas was horrified when he glanced down and realized that he
was holding his son's ankle monitor. Lucky had no idea how they had missed
it; he confessed that it was likely that Aiden had been spirited out of
the hospital before the lockdown had been ordered. 7/29 In Elizabeth's hospital room, Elizabeth demanded to know when her
baby would be found. Steve assured his sister that everyone was looking
for Aiden, but Elizabeth wasn't satisfied. Nikolas and Lucky entered the
room moments later. Nikolas gently broke the news that they had found
Aiden's ankle monitor tucked into another baby's bassinet. Nikolas
confessed that whoever had taken their son had access to the equipment
needed to remove the ankle monitor. Elizabeth was devastated. Nikolas went
onto explain that they couldn't determine when the ankle monitor had been
taken off. Elizabeth felt betrayed because she had been assured that her
son would be safe in the nursery. Lucky promised that he would do
everything in his power to get Aiden back. Elizabeth didn't think that
Lucky was in a position to make any assurances to her. She reminded them
that Jason had killed Franco, so there weren't any leads. Elizabeth was
heartbroken as she realized that her baby could be anywhere. While Nikolas
tried to comfort Elizabeth, Lucky took the opportunity to slip into the
hallway with Steve to let Steve know that the lockdown could be lifted.
Steve felt terrible; he acknowledged that his sister had been right to
blame him for Aiden's disappearance. In the room, Elizabeth begged Nikolas to do everything in his power to
find Aiden. Nikolas assured her that they would get their son back.
Elizabeth cried herself to sleep while Nikolas held her. Afterwards,
Nikolas joined Steve and Lucky in the hallway. Steve apologized to Nikolas
for Aiden's kidnapping. Nikolas assured Steve that he wasn't to blame.
Nikolas explained that Elizabeth had been lashing out and that Steve had
merely been a convenient person. Steve confessed that he had been leery
about Nikolas' decision to post a reward for information about Aiden's
disappearance, but he realized that it might be their only chance to find
the infant. After Steve left to make arrangements for the lockdown to be
lifted, Nikolas placed a call to set up an escrow account for the reward
money. As he ended the call, Lucky walked up. Lucky revealed that he had discovered that Jane Morgan's apartment was
undisturbed. Lucky didn't think that Jane intended to leave town. Lucky
also confirmed that Jane's car had been found in the parking lot. Lucky
theorized that Jane might have learned of Franco's death and then
panicked, so he suspected that she was still in the hospital. After Lucky
left Nikolas, he searched the vacant rooms for Jane. A short time later,
Lucky found Jane in one of the rooms, but she was dead. Aiden's
identification bracelet was clutched in her hand. Dante explained that he
had received a report from the LAPD. According to DNA tests, the man who
had fallen to his death at the Museum of Contemporary Art had not been
Franco. In Woodstock, New York, Karen Anderson packed up her belongings. A
knock at the door interrupted her work. Karen was surprised to see her
son, Franco, standing in the doorway holding an infant. 7/30 After Lucky discovered Nurse Jane Morgan's dead body in a patient
bed at the hospital, he phoned in a request for a forensics team. Franco arrived at his mother's new house and presented his mother with
Aiden. She asked "Bobby" where he'd gotten the baby, but Franco
wouldn't answer. Franco's mom worried that the infant hadn't been eating
enough. Franco left to shop for the baby. He returned with armfuls of baby
items. Franco's mother told him that Aiden had eaten all of the formula
Franco had brought with them, but Franco replied that he'd bought enough
to last quite awhile. Franco' mom was concerned and felt that it wasn't
right for her to keep the baby. Franco explained that he was giving her
the opportunity to start anew with a child that would not prove as
difficult to raise as he had been. He told her that he might not be around
for awhile. Franco's mother demanded details on the baby, and Franco lied
that he'd gotten the boy through a private adoption. He told her that,
since she was living in a new house in a new town and had a brand new
life, she could give the baby everything she wasn't able to give him. Nikolas visited Elizabeth in her hospital room. He announced that he'd
offered a reward for information that would lead them to their son. Lucky
entered and delivered the bad news that Jane Morgan, the nurse who'd been
their best lead, had been found dead. He gave Elizabeth Aiden's
identification bracelet that had been found with the woman. Nikolas
assumed that she had been murdered, but Lucky agreed but could not yet
confirm that suspicion. Elizabeth bemoaned her fate, that her son had been
kidnapped because he'd happened to have been assigned an I.D. number
ending in "66." Dante went to see Lucky at the police station to tell him that Franco
was not dead. Dante explained that the man who had impersonated Franco and
jumped to his death was a Stage 4 cancer patient. Lucky informed Dante
that the nurse who'd likely been the last to see Aiden had been found
dead. Dante hypothesized that luring him and Jason to L.A. had been a
diversion and that Franco had wanted to kidnap the baby all along. Dante
returned to Jason's penthouse with Lucky. The three of them went over
everything that had happened since Aiden had been kidnapped, and Dante
suggested they go to the one person connected to Franco: Franco's mother.
He called the Woodstock Police Department and asked them to send a unit to
Karen Anderson's house. They reported that the house had been abandoned.
Jason feared that there would be no more clues because he believed that
Franco wanted to keep Aiden for himself. Dvd #3C 8/2 Jason, Dante, and Lucky discussed Franco at Jason's
penthouse. Jason was convinced that Franco had abducted Aiden because he
thought that having a baby to bond with from birth would make him like
Jason. Jason told Lucky and Dante that he had figured that out after
replaying the conversation he had with Franco in the stairwell when he
talked with Franco at the Los Angeles art exhibition. Jason said that
taking the baby had been Franco's real goal and that everything else had
been misdirection and a diversion. Jason thought that taking the baby was
Franco's attempt to form a relationship with another human like the one
that Jason had with Michael. Lucky suggested that they try to find
Franco's mother, but Jason thought it was a waste of time. Lucky said that
Franco's mother was the only lead they had, and he did not want to be the
one who had to tell Elizabeth that her baby was not returning. Even though
he thought it might be a waste of time, Lucky left to check for clues in
the home and town where Franco's mother had been living. Franco took baby Aiden to his mom. He told her he wanted her to have a
child who would not disappoint her. Franco's mom was charmed and said she
would keep the baby. She said that she was thinking of naming the baby
Pablo. Franco wanted to know if it was in honor of Picasso. His mom said
that they could not have too many artists in the family. When Franco told
his mom that he had to leave, she wanted to know if he was in trouble.
Franco denied any problems and said that he had to take care of some
business. After he left, she told baby Aiden that they would be very happy
in their new home on the Oregon coast. 8/4 Elizabeth woke up in her hospital bed from a restless sleep to find
Helena hovering over her. Helena berated Elizabeth for making foolish
choices that resulted in Aiden's kidnapping. Elizabeth demanded that
Helena leave. Helena continued to badger Elizabeth, but Nikolas arrived
and threw Helena out. Nikolas began to apologize, but Elizabeth wondered
if it was her fault that their baby had been kidnapped. At her new house, Franco's mother answered a call from
"Bobbie" while she rocked a sleeping Aiden, whom she called
Pablo. Franco reassured her that the adoption was legal. After the call,
she talked to the baby about plans for the future and told him how
thankful she was to her son for giving her another child. Franco went to a private jet. As the plane prepared for takeoff, he
made a phone call. He told the person on the other end that he wanted to
book a very special model. In his lap was a magazine that was opened to a
full-page picture of Brenda. Elizabeth told Steven that she'd decided to check out. He apologized
for the lapse in security that allowed for Aiden to be kidnapped. She
began to talk about things she should have done differently, but Steven
stated that the kidnapping was in no way her fault. Nikolas picked
Elizabeth up as she was released from the hospital. He assured her and
reminded her that they needed to keep the faith. They arrived home to find
the remnants of a surprise party. Elizabeth broke down, and Nikolas
comforted her. 8/5 In Astoria, on the front porch, Karen cooed to "Pablo" as
she promised him that she would take good care of him. After Lucky landed in Oregon, he made his way to Astoria. Dante called
Lucky to let him know that Jason was on his way back to Pentonville
because Ronnie had decided it was more important to take a hard line
against Sonny than to save a baby. Dante advised Lucky to call Spinelli
for help. Lucky didn't think that Spinelli would cooperate with Jason in
jail. Dante suggested that Lucky remind Spinelli that a baby's life was at
stake. Spinelli was hard at work on his laptop when Lucky called. Spinelli
was upset because Lucky hadn't been around to stop Ronnie from taking
Jason back to jail. Lucky promised that he wasn't the enemy, Franco was.
He warned Spinelli that if something happened to Aiden then Spinelli
wouldn't be able to live with himself. Spinelli acknowledged that Lucky
had a point. Spinelli revealed that he had discovered that Franco had
transferred some money to buy a house at 227 Larchmont Lane in Astoria.
Spinelli explained that the title had been put in Karen Robertson's name.
Lucky realized that Franco's mother's name was Karen and that Franco's
first name was Robert. Spinelli and Lucky agreed that Karen Robertson was
likely Franco's mother, Karen Anderson. Lucky was indebted to Spinelli.
Spinelli agreed that Lucky owed him one, so he wanted Lucky to find Aiden
and then return the baby to his parents. A short time later, Lucky was at Karen's house, but Karen and the baby
weren't there. As Lucky looked around the outside of the house, a young
woman called out to him. She identified herself as Karen's neighbor and
then asked if she could help Lucky. Lucky explained that he was the
ex-boyfriend of Karen's daughter and the father of the baby. The neighbor
smiled as she admitted that "Pablo" was cute. Lucky carefully
hid his relief at her confirmation that Karen had Aiden. Later, Lucky was
hiding in the bushes when Karen returned home with Aiden. On the docks, Helena admitted to Thor that she suspected that the baby
would never be recovered. She didn't want to let Nikolas continue grieving
for a "brat" that wasn't his, so she had decided it was time to
let Nikolas and Elizabeth know that Lucky was the baby's real father. Elizabeth and Nikolas stared at the welcome home banner above
Elizabeth's fireplace. Elizabeth promised that things would be different
if Aiden were returned to them. Nikolas was surprised when Elizabeth
agreed to move to Wyndemere with the children. Nikolas didn't want
Elizabeth to make a decision based on fear. He suggested that they focus
on getting Aiden home. Elizabeth regretted that it had taken her so long
to accept that he was Aiden's father. She realized that her relationship
with Lucky was over because Lucky had understood that they were too toxic
for each other. Elizabeth conceded that she should have let Lucky go
instead of trying to blame Nikolas for everything. She prayed that their
son was returned to them and vowed that she would raise Aiden with
Nikolas. Nikolas wrapped his arms around Elizabeth and then held her. Later, Elizabeth let Nikolas know that she was ready to call Audrey, so
that he could pick up the boys. Nikolas thought it would help Elizabeth to
be around Cam and Jake. He offered to leave once the boys were home, but
Elizabeth wanted Nikolas to stay. She hoped that he could help her break
the news to Cam and Jake that their brother had been taken. Elizabeth
jumped when someone rang the doorbell. She raced to the door, hoping that
Aiden had been found. Elizabeth was disappointed when she discovered
Helena standing on her doorstep. Nikolas warned Helena that they didn't
have time to deal with her because they were focused on finding their son.
Helena revealed that she had critical information about the baby. 8/6 Lucky observed Karen take "Pablo" into her house. On the
phone, Lucky talked to Spinelli, who sent him a photo of Franco's mother,
which allowed Lucky to positively identify the woman. Lucky posed as a
census taker to speak with the woman. At first, she resisted. But Lucky's
Spencer charm won her over, and she invited him in. Once inside, Karen
explained to Lucky that Pablo was adopted and named after Pablo Picasso.
She admitted that she also had an adult son named Bobby, a successful
artist, but that she didn't know where he was. Lucky pretended to have an
interest in art and asked what her other son's name was. She declined to
share that information because, she explained, one never knew who one's
true friends were, when one was a celebrity. Lucky asked about the
adoption, which made her suspicious. Karen threw him out. Lucky went away,
briefly, but returned and admitted that he was a cop looking for a
kidnapped baby. He laid it all on the line and told her the truth: that
Pablo's name was really Aiden and that he'd been kidnapped from General
Hospital in Port Charles. He claimed to know this because, he told her, he
was Aiden's father. Nikolas and Elizabeth confronted Helena in the living room of
Elizabeth's house. Helena continued to berate Elizabeth for what she
referred to as selfishness. Nikolas demanded information on the kidnapping
from his aunt. The doorbell rang, and Nikolas answered the door. Alexis
entered, dismayed to see Helena. Alexis threatened to throw Helena out of
the house, but Helena condescendingly told Alexis to stay out of her and
Nikolas' business. Alexis responded that there was nothing between Helena
and her grandson. "Nikolas hates you. We all do," she snapped.
Nikolas told Helena to leave unless she could provide information that
would lead him and Elizabeth to their son. She left the house but not
before uttering a cryptic warning for him to remember that day. After
Helena's exit, Alexis made it clear that Elizabeth could expect nothing
but support from Alexis, whatever Elizabeth needed. Nikolas caught up to
Helena on the waterfront and demanded to know what she was up to and why
she continued to torment Elizabeth. Helena asked him how diligent he
thought Lucky was being in the search for Aiden, given that the child was
the product of an affair between Lucky's fiancée and brother. Nikolas
uttered that he should have banished Helena long before. He accused her of
aiding Franco in the kidnapping. Helena swore on Stavros' name that she
was not keeping Nikolas' son from him. 8/9 In Astoria, Oregon, Lucky managed to get inside Karen's house. He
showed his badge and told her that Pablo was actually his kidnapped son,
Aiden. Lucky told Karen the story of his relationship to Elizabeth,
including the affair with Nikolas, except that in Lucky's version, he, not
Nikolas was Aiden's father. He stressed the heartache that Aiden's real
mother was feeling when he asked Karen to put herself in Elizabeth's
place. At first, Karen was reluctant to believe Lucky, but he was so
sincere and non-threatening, that Karen relinquished the baby. On the plane back to Port Charles, Lucky bonded with Aiden. He told the
boy that he had claimed to be Aiden's father so that he could get an
immediate reaction from Karen. When Lucky did not correct a flight
attendant's mistaken impression that he was Aiden's father, Lucky told
Aiden that it did not matter what strangers thought. He went on to warn
Aiden about the scary Cassadines, particularly Helena. He told Aiden that
the Spencer side balanced them out. Lucky told Aiden that although he had
been through an unusual few days, he was loved and things would settle
down once he was home with his loving family. Lucky told Aiden that he
could have been the baby's father. He told the baby that he had spent a
lot of years trying to create a life with Elizabeth. Lucky told Aiden that
deep down, he would probably always wish the he, not Nikolas was Aiden's
father. Shirley's hostile daughter, Marny found Elizabeth at the hospital and
inquired about Shirley's things. Elizabeth said that Shirley's jewelry was
being held for her. Marny disparaged Shirley's efforts at jewelry making.
Marny was still angry because Shirley had left her husband and children
years earlier to lead a life of adventure with another. At first, she
refused to take the jewelry that Shirley had left behind. Elizabeth told
Marny how helpful Shirley had been to her and how she would always be
grateful for the time she had spent with Shirley and the wise counsel that
Shirley had given her in a time of crisis. Elizabeth said that Shirley had
regrets but that she had made the best decision she could in the
circumstances when the alternative was to make them all miserable.
Elizabeth told Marny that Shirley had talked about her with great love and
pride. After listening to Elizabeth, Marny's attitude was changed when she
left with Epiphany to collect Shirley's belongings. Nikolas joined Elizabeth and they agreed that it was time to tell the
boys that Aiden was missing. Nikolas and Elizabeth were struggling to tell
Cameron, Jake, and Spencer what had happened to Aiden but were saved when
Lucky walked in with the baby. Both Elizabeth and Nikolas were overjoyed.
Nikolas told Lucky that he would always be grateful that Lucky had found
and returned Aiden to his parents. Elizabeth, holding Aiden, sat on the
couch next to the boys. Nikolas sat next to her and put his arm around her
shoulders. As Lucky opened the door, he was overcome by the sweet family
tableau that they made. 8/11 Maxie found Lucky standing on the pier in the rain. She shared her
umbrella with him as she led him to Jake's, so that they could dry off.
After they sat down, Maxie questioned why Lucky had been standing in the
rain. Lucky revealed that he had found Aiden and then returned the infant
to Elizabeth and Nikolas. Maxie was happy to hear that the baby had been
found safe and sound, but she was shocked to learn that Franco's mother
had the baby. Lucky credited Spinelli with helping him to locate Karen and
Aiden. Maxie smiled, but didn't dwell on Spinelli's role in the recovery
of the kidnapped infant; she wanted to know what was going on with Lucky.
Lucky confessed that he had lied to Karen by claiming that Aiden had been
his son. Maxie realized that a part of Lucky had wanted to believe the
lie. Lucky didn't deny it. He acknowledged that he had told himself that
it was for the best that Nikolas was Aiden's father; however, he felt as
if something had fit when he had held Aiden during the flight home. Maxie
admitted that she didn't have a maternal bone in her body, but she
believed that there was a good reason that Lucky felt so fatherly toward
Aiden. Lucky asked her to clarify what she had meant about his connection
to Aiden. Maxie reminded Lucky that he was Aiden's uncle. She pointed to
Mac as a perfect example of a man who had loved the children he had
raised, even though they hadn't been his biological children. Lucky smiled
as he confessed that there were times that Maxie was quite wise. 8/16 Ronnie tried to question Michael, but Lucky appeared and said that
he had spoken to the alleged witness who was a woman in her eighties.
Lucky said that she could only describe the man with Johnny as tall and
blonde. Lucky told Ronnie that her description was not detailed enough to
allow Ronnie to take Michael to the police station for violation of his
parole. When Ronnie wanted to put Michael in a lineup, Lucky said that the
witness did not want to get involved and would not appear to look at a
lineup. Ronnie was frustrated and left after accusing Lucky and Dante of
being part of a cover-up. Lucky told both Dante and Michael that he wanted to know the truth.
Michael then told Lucky that he had been talking to Johnny about making
peace with Sonny when he noticed the speeding car and pushed Johnny to the
ground. He told Lucky that the shooter was not one of Sonny's men. Both
Dante and Lucky acknowledged the irony of the cover-up they were carrying
out on Michael's behalf. Dante said that it was a cover-up that got
Michael sent to Pentonville in the first place. Michael said that he did
not care what he had to do as long as he did not have to go back to
prison. Lulu went to the police station to see Lucky. She told him she needed
some advice about Dante from a guy's perspective. Lucky wanted to know if
something was wrong, but Lulu said no. She said that she was very happy
with the way things were and so was Dante. She said that the fly in the
ointment was Olivia, who had scolded Dante about not making a marriage
proposal. Lulu said that she was not ready to get married and neither was
Dante. She told Lucky that since Olivia's interference, she was afraid
that Dante would propose too soon. 8/17 At the police station, Lulu and Lucky talked about marriage. Lulu
suggested that saying, "I do" seemed to be the fastest way to
kill a relationship. Lucky was bothered by his sister's cynicism. Lulu
shrugged as she explained that what she had with Dante worked, so she
didn't want to ruin it with talk of marriage. Lulu realized that happily
ever after didn't exist, which made her wonder why people got married.
Lucky conceded that vows and a piece of paper didn't make a difference; it
was human nature that messed up relationships because people had
unrealistic expectations. According to Lucky, too many made assumptions
about their loved ones, which eventually led to great disappointments.
Lucky advised Lulu to run if a guy ever told her that she completed him.
He explained that if a guy wasn't whole, then he wouldn't be good for
anyone else. Lulu was a bit taken aback by her brother's attitude. Lucky
advised Lulu not to make assumptions about what was troubling Dante. Lucky
insisted that Lulu and Dante had to be honest with each other if they
hoped to make their relationship work. Shortly after Lulu left, Michael arrived. Michael explained that he had
been sent to pick up snacks and drinks for Jason's welcome home party, but
he had decided to stop by the station to let Lucky know that Sonny's men
hadn't been responsible for the drive-by shooting. Michael explained that
he had gotten a good look at the men in the car and that none of them had
worked for Sonny. Lucky reminded Michael that Sonny had put everything
into motion, so it didn't matter if Sonny's men hadn't been in the car.
Lucky warned Michael to stay out of it because someone would end up
killed. Later, Jason stopped by the police station at Lucky's request. Lucky
let Jason know about Michael's visit. Jason was surprised that Michael
hadn't told him that he had been present when Santos' men had gone after
Johnny. Lucky suggested that perhaps Michael had been reluctant to worry
Jason. Jason was relieved when Lucky assured him that Michael's name had
been left off of the report, so Michael wouldn't face any parole
violations. However, Lucky wanted Jason to talk to Sonny because Lucky
feared that it would soon turn into a bloodbath. At the Webber residence, Nikolas watched Cameron and Jake play on the
floor. Cam wondered if he would be allowed to ride Spencer's pony when
they moved to Wyndemere. Nikolas suggested that Cam ask his mother.
Elizabeth entered the room in time to hear Nikolas' comment, so she
wondered what they had been talking about. Nikolas explained that Cam
wanted to ride Nipit. Elizabeth didn't have a problem with Cam riding the
pony, but she made it clear to the boys that their move was only
temporary. Elizabeth sent Cam and Jake to their room to pack some of their
things while she fussed over Aiden. Nikolas wondered if Elizabeth had
second thoughts. She smiled at Nikolas as she assured him that she didn't
feel pressured to move to Wyndemere. She confessed that she was actually
excited about what it could mean for them and their family. At the Webber residence, Robin confessed that she was surprised that
Elizabeth was moving in with Nikolas. Elizabeth realized that she had been
hard on Nikolas in the past, but she wanted to give everyone a chance to
be a family and bond with Aiden. Robin was curious if Elizabeth and
Nikolas were a couple. Elizabeth had no idea what the future held; she
didn't even know if she should ever consider getting involved in another
relationship, but things were better with Nikolas because she was no
longer angry with him. Robin was happy for Elizabeth; however, she advised
Elizabeth not to be too hard on herself because she had made a mistake.
Elizabeth appreciated Robin's kindness, but Elizabeth wondered if Robin
would have felt the same way if Robin had cheated on Patrick or if Patrick
had cheated on Robin. "Probably not," Robin confessed. Elizabeth
smiled; she was grateful that she had a beautiful baby boy with Nikolas,
so she decided it was time to make the right decision for her children.
Robin understood, but she urged Elizabeth to squeeze in a few right
decisions for herself. Robin acknowledged that it took courage to give
yourself to someone, but Robin was living proof that it was worth it. Later, Cam raced out to the limousine where Jake was waiting. Nikolas
let Elizabeth know that she could change her mind, but she insisted that
she wanted to see where things would go with them. Nikolas picked up
Aiden's carrier and then took his son to the limousine. Elizabeth took one
last look at her living room, turned off the light, and then closed the
door behind her. 8/18 Nikolas, Elizabeth, and the boys arrived at Wyndemere. Cameron and
Jake were thrilled when they spotted an assortment of huge colorful
cupcakes set out on the sideboard. Elizabeth allowed her sons to have one
cupcake, but she reminded them that they were expected to clean up after
themselves and to thank the cook for the treats. After Cam, Jake, and
Spencer dashed off to play, Nikolas admitted that he was happy that
Elizabeth was giving living at Wyndemere a try. Later, Nikolas and Elizabeth discussed the boys' sleeping arrangements.
Elizabeth chuckled as she warned Nikolas that the boys would probably slip
into each other's rooms during the night. Nikolas was curious if she liked
her room. Elizabeth assured him that it was fine. Her eyes lit up when she
spotted tea and s'mores on the sideboard. She realized that Nikolas knew
that the treats were her guilty pleasure. Nikolas grinned. Nikolas wanted
Elizabeth to let him know if she felt smothered. He assured her that the
staff would do as much, or as little, as she wanted. Elizabeth confessed
that she had been so focused on proving that she could do everything that
she had failed to realize that she was only proving it to herself. She
appreciated everything that Nikolas had done for her. Later, Nikolas held
Aiden while Elizabeth took a bath. Nikolas assured Aiden that Elizabeth
was a great mother, and he vowed to be a better father to his newborn son.
Elizabeth entered the room in time hear Nikolas' heartfelt words. As they
gazed at the baby, Elizabeth and Nikolas admitted that they had a
beautiful son. At Jake's, Lucky was curious what made Maxie think that Lisa had
crossed the line with Patrick. Maxie confessed that she saw shades of
herself, while she had been obsessed with Lucky, in Lisa. Maxie
acknowledged that Lisa might not be scoring pills for Patrick, but she
suspected something was going on. Lucky clarified that Maxie wasn't solely
to blame for their affair. Maxie argued that she had known that Lucky was
married, but she appreciated that Lucky wanted to take part of the blame.
Lucky reminded Maxie that he had known what he had been doing when he had
cheated on Elizabeth. Maxie was touched that Lucky didn't blame her. Lucky
believed that things had worked out as they should; Elizabeth and the boys
had moved to Wyndemere. Maxie wondered if Lucky were okay with that.
"Why wouldn't I be?" Lucky asked. Later, Lucky returned to their table with some drinks. Maxie was happy
to note that he was drinking club soda. Lucky credited Maxie for keeping
him from drinking, but Maxie insisted that Lucky had stopped himself.
Maxie and Lucky returned to the topic of Lisa. Maxie told Lucky about
Patrick's past with Lisa, which made Lucky wonder if Patrick were simply
engaging in some harmless flirtation with an old flame. Maxie insisted
that Patrick looked more like a man who was being stalked. She told him
about her encounter with Lisa while Robin had been out of town. Lucky
suggested that there could have been an innocent explanation for Lisa's
visit with Patrick, but Maxie argued that she recognized the signs that
Lisa had been up to something. Lucky wished that Maxie would stop carrying
the guilt of their affair. Maxie confessed that she regretted the things
that she had done to be with Lucky, but she didn't regret being with him
because she had enjoyed his company. Maxie realized that she had made
their discussion about her instead of seeking advice on how to deal with
Lisa. Maxie started to leave, but Lucky admitted that he had hoped to
invite her to play a game of pool. Maxie didn't want his pity. Lucky
assured that it wasn't pity; he had intended to invite her earlier. 8/23 Lucky arrived on the scene and questioned Ethan, who pointed the
finger at Sonny. Lucky wanted to know what had happened, but Ethan hedged.
He said that Johnny was a friend and that he had seen that day coming.
Ethan said that Johnny had been framed for murder and almost killed in a
car bomb. He asked Lucky when Johnny got to fight back. Lucky wanted to
know if Johnny had gone gunning for Sonny or if Sonny had gone gunning for
Johnny. Ethan told Lucky to go ask Sonny. Alone with Ethan, Johnny said he
was dying to say, "I told you so." Both were laughing. Ethan
said he thought the plan was to kill Sonny. He asked Johnny how he had
screwed that up. Neither noticed Lucky lurking in the doorway. 8/24 At the hospital, Lucky listened as Ethan stepped into Johnny's
examination cubicle to visit with Johnny. Johnny conceded that Ethan had
been right. Ethan joked that Johnny was getting sentimental over a flesh
wound. Johnny's laughter faded as his eyes rolled into the back of his
head and then the alarms on his monitors sounded. Maya rushed into the
examination cubicle and then ordered Ethan to leave. As Ethan passed Lucky
he asked, "You still think it was self-defense?" Johnny was
rushed to surgery a few minutes later. Lucky was curious what Johnny had meant when he had insisted that Ethan
had been right. Ethan pointed out that everyone knew that Sonny and Johnny
had wanted each other dead. Lucky wondered if Johnny had carried a gun.
Ethan admitted that Johnny was usually armed, but Johnny never advertised
it by waving his gun around. Lucky was curious why a gun hadn't been found
on Johnny. Ethan suggested that perhaps it was one of the few times that
Johnny hadn't armed himself. Lucky didn't think it made sense for Sonny to
walk up to Johnny on a busy street corner with witnesses and just shoot
Johnny without any attempt to cover it up. Lucky realized that it was in
Sonny to murder someone; however, Sonny wasn't the careless type. Ethan
reminded Lucky that Sonny had been getting away with murder for years, so
he wasn't surprised that Sonny had gotten bolder. Lucky approached Maya
and Ethan to ask if he could talk to Maya about Johnny. Ethan pointed out
that Maya hadn't witnessed the shooting, but Maya assured Lucky that she
didn't mind answering his questions. Maya asked Ethan to fetch them
something to drink and then turned to answer Lucky's questions.
Unfortunately for Lucky, Maya wasn't able to provide Lucky with any
valuable information about the shooting. Later, Dante showed up at the hospital to get an update from Lucky.
Lucky suspected that Ethan was hiding something, but Dante was certain
that Sonny had shot Johnny without justification. Dante argued that Sonny
was trying to lie his way out of an attempt to murder Johnny. 8/25 At Wyndemere, Elizabeth, Nikolas, and the boys enjoyed breakfast
while they made plans for the day. Nikolas offered to take the boys to the
stable to groom Nipit and then take the boys riding. Afterwards, Nikolas
planned to take everyone swimming. The boys were excited, but Elizabeth
decided to stay behind, so that she could take a short nap with Aiden. She
promised to meet them at the stables before Nikolas took the boys
swimming. After Nikolas and the boys left, Elizabeth rocked Aiden and
talked to him about Wyndemere. She was unaware that Nikolas had returned.
Nikolas listened as Elizabeth quietly confessed that Aiden's brothers
loved Wyndemere and seemed to be having a wonderful time. She vowed that
she would do everything in her power to make it work for them. Elizabeth
just wished that she didn't feel so out of place in the castle. At the police station, Lucky acknowledged that Ethan was loyal to
Johnny and therefore unlikely to reveal anything useful about the
shooting, but Lucky still had a few questions for Ethan. Lucky was curious
what Ethan planned to do if Johnny survived. Lucky didn't think that Ethan
would be able to continue flying under the radar as he had been. Ethan
agreed, but he insisted that he hoped Lucky didn't expect him to suddenly
turn into a law-abiding citizen. Ethan admitted that it was a shame that
he and Lucky were on opposite sides of the law. Lucky suggested that Ethan
could always consider becoming a cop, but Ethan laughed at the absurdity
of him joining the law enforcement community. However, Ethan could see
some benefits to having a badge. Ethan admitted that he was surprised that
Lucky had opted to become a police officer. He wondered if Lucky ever
missed "coloring outside of the lines." Lucky didn't defend his
decision, but he did warn Ethan that he wouldn't give his brother a free
pass on murder. Ethan assured Lucky that he would never resort to killing
someone in cold blood. Ethan suggested that if Lucky became tired of being
a cop, he and Ethan could work together. Ethan believed that there were
endless opportunities for them if they joined forces. Shortly after Ethan left, Maxie entered the police station to find out
if Lucky had checked into Lisa Niles's past. Lucky wondered if anything
had happened to prompt Maxie's sudden urgency to know about Lisa's
background. Maxie quickly filled Lucky in on Lisa's odd behavior and
Lisa's unauthorized outing with Emma. Maxie was eager to find out if there
might be anything in Lisa's background to indicate that Robin and Emma
were in danger. Lucky admitted that Lisa had led a quiet life before
moving to Port Charles. He conceded that Lisa had a few citations in
college for drinking, but nothing serious. Maxie was curious if any of
Lisa's ex-boyfriends had mysteriously disappeared, but Lucky shook his
head. Lucky reminded Maxie that Patrick had participated in the betrayal,
so it wasn't entirely Lisa's fault. Lucky was confident that Lisa would
snap out of it once everything settled down, but Maxie was certain that
Lisa would continue to cause more trouble for Robin. Lucky was surprised
when Lisa entered the police station, introduced herself, and then
explained that Robin had threatened to kill her. Lisa wanted to file a
report because she believed that Robin had meant it. 8/26 At Wyndemere, Nikolas stood in the doorway while Elizabeth quietly
spoke to Aiden. Elizabeth explained that being with Nikolas and Spencer
was good for all of them, so she was determined to make it work. Elizabeth
realized that Aiden's brothers loved Wyndemere, so she believed that she
would be the most selfish person in the world if she were to let her own
discomfort stand in the way of everyone's happiness. Elizabeth was also
reluctant to deprive Aiden of his legacy. Nikolas entered the room as
Elizabeth started to put Aiden down for his nap. Nikolas didn't give any
indication that he had overheard her as he told her about the boys' antics
while they rode Nipit. Elizabeth smiled as she congratulated Nikolas on
finally having a family. Nikolas returned the smile and then quietly asked
her how she was holding up. Elizabeth continued to smile as she assured
him that everyone was enjoying themselves. Later, Nikolas placed a call to Elizabeth's sister, Sarah. Sarah was
thrilled to hear that Elizabeth had agreed to move in with Nikolas, but
Nikolas suggested that she not get too excited. He explained that
Elizabeth wasn't happy at Wyndemere, so he had hoped that Sarah would give
Elizabeth a graceful way out by inviting her sister to visit. Sarah was
curious if Nikolas wanted Elizabeth to leave. He confessed that he didn't,
but he wanted Elizabeth to be happy, which wouldn't happen at Wyndemere. When Nikolas and the boys returned to Wyndemere for lunch, Cameron
asked his mother if he could have a pony. Elizabeth chuckled as she
reminded Cam that they didn't have anywhere to keep a pony. Spencer
quickly offered to let Cam ride Nipit whenever Cam wanted. Cam smiled
brightly as he admitted that he loved living at Wyndemere and never wanted
to leave. Moments later, Elizabeth's cell phone rang. She was surprised to
see that it was Sarah, so she stepped away to talk to her sister. Nikolas
took the boys swimming. He returned to the castle a short time later with
assurances that Norma was watching the boys, along with one of the stable
hands, who was a certified lifeguard. Nikolas promised that he had made
the boys wait an hour before they were allowed to swim. Elizabeth smiled
as she confided that the rule was an old wives' tale. Elizabeth then
turned serious as she told Nikolas about Sarah's invitation to visit her
in Northern California. Nikolas encouraged Elizabeth to spend time with
Sarah, but Elizabeth reminded him that it would mean that she would be
taking Aiden with her on the trip. Nikolas admitted that he would miss his
son, but he thought that it was important for Aiden to get to know his
aunt. Nikolas promised to make all of the arrangements, so Elizabeth
wouldn't have to deal with it. A short time later, Elizabeth and the boys were packed and ready to go.
Elizabeth was impressed with how quickly Nikolas had managed to put the
trip together. Cam and Spencer shook hands as they said their goodbyes and
then Cam asked Nikolas when they could return to Wyndemere. Nikolas
assured Cam that he would always be welcome. Elizabeth promised to send
pictures of Aiden every day. After Elizabeth and the boys left, Spencer
admitted that he wished that they could have stayed longer. Nikolas
agreed, but he explained that one day Spencer would learn to love with an
"open hand and hope." At the police station, Lisa admitted that she was a bit embarrassed
that she felt the need to lodge a complaint against Robin. Lucky was
curious what made Lisa think that Robin intended to harm her. Lisa
confessed that she'd had an affair with Patrick. She quickly explained
that she and Patrick had a "serious" relationship in college, so
there had been an instant connection between them when she had arrived in
Port Charles. According to Lisa, nature had taken its course when Robin
had gone to Africa. Lisa assured Lucky that she wasn't trying to make
excuses for what she had done. Lisa acknowledged that Robin had every
right to be furious, but Lisa had been unsettled by the way that Robin had
threatened her. Lucky confessed that he was biased because he had known
Robin for a very long time. Lucky explained that Robin had always shown
grace under pressure and he thought that she was an extraordinary person.
However, Lucky conceded that people could act differently when they felt
betrayed. Lucky was curious what Lisa wanted him to do. Lisa confessed
that she had considered asking for a restraining order, but she had
changed her mind after talking to Lucky. Lisa realized that it would be
difficult to enforce because she and Robin worked together at the
hospital, so she had decided to hold off on it. Lisa was satisfied knowing
that Lucky knew what was going on in case anything happened. 8/30 Out in the woods, one of the Lopez thugs broke in the cabin and
Sam shot him. Jason almost shot the next intruder, who turned out to be
Lucky. Lucky explained that he had been following the Lopez gang and had
been about to call for backup when he was spotted and had to run. He had
dropped his cell phone, but had fortunately spotted the cabin before the
gang caught up with him. Sam and Jason explained that their adventure had
begun when Sam had tried to get evidence against the Lopez gang so that
she could clear Jason of Ronnie's false charges. Lucky was glad to hear
she had evidence but sorry it had been lost when Lopez had smashed her
cell phone. Jason had rescued Sam, but in doing so had ended up destroying
the Lopez gang's van and getting trapped in the cabin after Sam sprained
an ankle. Since Lucky's car was nearby, Jason suggested that Sam and Lucky
make a run for it while he held off the Lopez thugs. Both Sam and Lucky
refused that plan because it meant that Jason would have to hold off five
or six armed men. Lucky suggested that they wait. He said that if he did
not check in soon, the PCPD would start looking for him. Before the
threesome made a decision, the thugs tossed burning bottle of gasoline
through a window and the cabin caught fire. 8/31 In the woods, Lucky, Sam, and Jason weighed their options when
they realized that the cabin that they were hiding in had been set on
fire. They realized that if they ran out of the front door then Lopez's
men would open fire on them. Lucky decided that their best hope of
escaping the inferno was if Lucky created a diversion at the front of the
cabin, so that Jason and Sam could slip out the back door. The plan was
put into motion. Moments later, Jason and Sam made it to safety. Jason and
Sam breathed a sigh of relief when Lucky caught up to them minutes later.
Unfortunately for them, the danger had not passed. Lopez's men continued
to fire at them. Jason decided that it was his turn to draw the men away,
so that Sam and Lucky could escape. Jason raced through the woods, firing
his gun. A short time later, Lopez's men had scattered or were dead. Lucky
was annoyed when he finally heard the sound of police sirens, so Lucky
instructed Jason and Sam to let him do all of the talking when the police
arrived. 9/3 Michael paid a visit to Johnny in his hospital room. Michael
accused Johnny of having ambushed Sonny. Johnny claimed that he'd been
unarmed when Sonny shot him. Lucky arrived as Michael demanded that Johnny
recant the story he'd told the police. Lucky told Michael it was unwise
for Michael to have any contact with Johnny and demanded that he leave.
After Michael left, Lucky started an audio recorder and began to question
Johnny. However, Johnny offered Lucky a job instead. Johnny asked Lucky,
"Wouldn't you rather laugh with the sinners rather than die with the
saints?" Lucky was not amused and left. Lucky went to Dante's loft and ran into Lulu. Lucky told her about his
encounter with Johnny and that Johnny had offered him a job. Lucky
admitted that a part of him almost wanted to say yes. Lulu cautioned Lucky
to beware. She reminded him that he'd never been good at following rules.
Lucky lamented that the bad guys had the advantage and that the good guys
got "stuck, coloring inside the lines." He said he kept hearing
their father's voice inside his head asking what Lucky was thinking when
he became a cop. Lulu was surprised at how disillusioned her brother had
become. He assured her that he wasn't going to join a criminal
organization but that he sometimes missed being an outlaw. As Lucky left,
he told Lulu that he was probably just venting but that he'd let her know
if he made any career decisions. 9/7 Lucky asked Maya about Johnny's condition, but she told Lucky that
he should call it quits for the night, as he'd been on the go since early
that morning. He replied that she'd been working as long as he had. Lucky
asked why she wasn't enjoying Ethan's company. Maya made it clear that
there was nothing between her and Ethan, but Lucky didn't believe her. Robin approached Lisa and demanded that she stay away from Emma. She
called Lisa a "psycho bitch" and punched her in the face. With
many of the staff witnessing the confrontation, Robin threatened to kill
Lisa should Emma be harmed. Lisa called on Patrick to confirm that she had
been with him in the scrub room until just then. Patrick attested to that
but pointed out that he had no idea where Lisa had been prior to that.
Steven stepped in and suspended Robin, pending further investigation. Lucky and Maxie went to the lab to check out the situation. Maxie
demanded that Lucky arrest Lisa, but he stated that they'd have to
eliminate Robin as a suspect first. Mac showed up, and Lucky and Maxie
updated him. Lucky called attention to the urgency of gathering evidence,
because Robin was unraveling. 9/9 In Lucky's apartment, Lucky was on the phone with Mac. Lucky
explained that they needed to wait for Lisa to slip up. Lucky conceded
that Lisa's complaint against Robin hadn't been necessary, but Robin had
threatened to kill Lisa in front of witnesses. Lucky advised Mac that they
needed to go by the book and follow the rules. After a moment, Lucky
agreed that he was sick of the rules too. Lucky was forced to end the call
when someone knocked on the door. It was Tracy. Tracy offered to pay Lucky to find Luke. Lucky wondered if Tracy were
ready to forgive Luke. Tracy denied that she was, but she was desperate
for Luke to return home, so that she could have someone to be mad at.
Lucky reminded Tracy that he couldn't just up and go because he had a job.
Tracy laughed; she recognized the look in Lucky's eyes. Tracy knew the
Spencers well enough to sense when they were dreaming of a scam. She was
certain that Lucky was looking for a reason to leave town, so she offered
to pay him any amount to find Luke. "Go raise some hell on my
dime," she tempted Lucky. After Tracy left, Lucky put a call in to
Luke's fence in Amsterdam. Lucky knew of a recent heist that had Luke's
name all over it. He was certain that Luke would eventually turn to the
fence for help. Lucky asked the man to let Luke know that Lucky was
looking for him. Someone knocked on his door. Lucky was surprised when Agent Bates
identified himself as an Interpol agent. Lucky assumed it was about Luke,
so he agreed to go with the agent. Later, Agent Bates acknowledged that he
knew about Luke, but they weren't interested in discussing Lucky's father.
Lucky was stunned when Agent Bates explained that he had sought out Lucky
for a specific reason. Lucky's interest was piqued when Agent Bates
produced a picture of a dead man in a morgue who bore an uncanny
resemblance to Lucky. |
