Jonathan Returns #6 May 24- August 22, 2011: 8 hour original edit

DVD #6A At Lucky's apartment, Lulu suggested that Luke's intervention had been a disaster because it had pushed Luke further out of control. Lucky insisted that it would take time for Luke to realize that rehab was the answer, so he urged Lulu to have patience. Lulu argued that they didn't have time because Luke had been on a "bender," since they had released Luke from the chair. Lulu thought that they needed a new tactic, so she suggested reaching out to Luke. Lucky feared that they would be enabling Luke if they tried to do things Lulu's way. Lulu conceded that the twelve-step program had worked for Lucky, but she insisted that it wasn't for Luke.

Lucky reminded Lulu that the twelve-step program had worked for millions of people, not just him. Lulu admitted that it seemed like Lucky expected Luke to be magically cured, but his plan wasn't working. Lucky explained that only Luke could make the decision to become sober. He assured Lulu that Luke needed time to reach the point where he was ready to accept help. Lulu confessed that she and Ethan were tired of trying to do things Lucky's way, so they wanted to try things her way. Lucky feared that Luke would drink himself to death if they didn't get out of Luke's way, so that Luke could surrender to something greater than himself.

Lulu didn't agree; she wanted the family to approach Luke with love. Lucky explained that cutting off Luke was a much needed act of tough love. Lulu didn't understand Lucky's lack of optimism. Lucky assured his sister that he believed that Luke could be helped if he went to rehab. Lucky realized that Lulu had to do what she thought was right, but Lucky explained that he couldn't be a part of her plan because he had to safeguard his own sobriety. Lucky insisted that being around Luke made that too difficult. Lulu refused to abandon their father as Lucky had.

At the nurses' station, Elizabeth assumed that Nikolas was there to meet with Steve. Nikolas reminded Elizabeth that it was Tuesday. "That's right. You're here to pick up Jake," Elizabeth replied. Elizabeth immediately realized what she had said. She quickly apologized and then explained that she had often called the boys by the wrong name. Elizabeth confided that what used to be funny was now just a painful reminder of Jake's loss. However, she assured him that it helped her to get back into a routine.

Nikolas wished that he could help Elizabeth, so he suggested that she take some time off to visit her sister in California or fly to the Bahamas for a vacation. Nikolas offered to cover all of the expenses, but Elizabeth declined. She appreciated Nikolas' generosity, but she insisted that she would go crazy if she just sat around. Elizabeth was adamant that she needed to stay busy with the boys and work to get through the difficult days.

Later, Nikolas entered Kelly's with Aiden in tow. Lucky walked in moments later. Lucky joined his brother and Aiden at the table. Lucky fondly recalled how much fun Jake had been at Aiden's age. Nikolas confessed that the wife of one of his friends had their child on an intense learning program, but Nikolas feared that it might be too much for Aiden, so he had decided to expose Aiden to classical music instead. Lucky chuckled as he suggested that Nikolas play some rock-n-roll for Aiden. Lucky revealed that Cam wasn't really into music and that Jake hadn't had the patience for it, so it would be fun to see if Aiden took to it.

Lucky smiled as he confessed that he hadn't thought that they would ever get to the point where he and Nikolas would be discussing their children. Nikolas was grateful that he and Lucky had been able to get past their problems because Nikolas had missed having Lucky in his life.

Later, Lucky returned to his apartment shortly before Ethan stopped by to talk to him about Luke's situation. Ethan admitted that he had been wrong about Luke, so Ethan apologized for not properly supporting Lucky's attempt to get Luke into a treatment program. Ethan acknowledged that reaching out to Luke had been a mistake.

Ethan had hoped that his friendship with Luke might have helped Luke get to the root of Luke's drinking problem, but Ethan had been mistaken. Ethan revealed that Luke had recently confessed to wanting absolution and then warned Ethan that it was time to take action. Ethan confessed that the remark hadn't made any sense to him, so he knew that Luke needed help. Lucky wished that Ethan could talk to Lulu, who still believed that it was possible to reach out to Luke. Ethan was determined to help their father in any way that he could.

Luke called Lucky to ask Lucky to gather the Spencers for a family meeting at the Haunted Star. Lucky revealed that Ethan was with him, so he promised that they would be at the casino shortly. After Lucky ended the call, Ethan wondered what Luke was planning. Lucky feared that Luke intended to have a big dramatic goodbye before Luke left town, never to return.

At the Haunted Star, Luke smashed shot glasses with a baseball bat in a drunken game of baseball. Dante entered the casino and then revealed that had been a complaint of someone disturbing the peace. Luke took full responsibility, so he invited Dante to arrest him and then throw away the key. Dante refused to take Luke into custody because he believed that Luke was just crying out for help. Disgusted, Luke poured himself a drink and then resumed the "batting practice." Dante suggested that Luke had bottomed out long enough, so it was time for Luke to go to rehab.

Luke insisted that he liked it "down here." Dante struck a nerve when Dante mentioned Lulu. Luke accused Lulu of being sucked into the "dad's an alcoholic" cult, so she was forbidden to talk to Luke. Dante explained that Lulu was running around town trying to fix things because she loved her father. Dante was disgusted that Luke had repaid Lulu by continuing to spiral out of control. He was curious who would be expected to clean up Luke's mess.

"No one," Luke replied. Dante urged Luke to get help for Lulu's sake, but Luke ordered Dante to stay out of his business and the casino. Dante explained that Lulu had always had a mental block about relationships. According to Dante, Lulu believed that relationships never lasted because someone always left. It was obvious to Dante where Lulu gotten that idea from. After Dante left, Luke resumed drinking, and destroying the barware.

Later, Lulu entered the casino to find Luke, in a sullen mood, seated at a table as he knocked back shots of alcohol. Lulu warned Luke that the damage to the Haunted Star wasn't fair to Tracy. Luke snidely assured Lulu that Tracy could afford to replace everything and then suggested that the casino could use a renovation. Luke then claimed that he had simply been trying to have some fun. Lulu fetched a dust pan and then began to sweep up the shattered glass. Luke told Lulu to leave it alone, but she ignored him.

Furious, Luke charged at Lulu as he screamed, "When I say leave it, I mean it. Damn you!" Lulu was shocked by the rage in her father's tone. She slowly stood up and then gave Luke a wide berth as she quickly fled the casino in tears. Luke kicked the chair in her wake and then took another swig from a bottle of scotch. Moments later, Luke seemed to realize what he had done. His eyes filled with tears as he stared at the destruction.

Tracy arrived at the loft a short time later. She immediately sensed that Lulu was upset. Lulu explained that Luke had trashed the Haunted Star, but she advised Tracy not to go near the casino because Luke needed some space. Tracy realized that something had happened, so she tried to get Lulu to talk about it. Lulu refused to tell Tracy about the incident, but she promised to clean up Luke's mess. Tracy insisted that it wasn't Lulu's responsibility, so Lulu confessed that Luke had said the same thing.

Luke poured himself a drink as Sonny entered the casino. Luke offered to get Sonny a drink, but then suggested that intervention protocol prohibited it. Sonny assured Luke that he didn't want a drink. Luke imagined that Dante had talked to Sonny. Sonny explained that Lulu wasn't taking proper care of herself because she was so worried about Luke. Luke insisted that he was fine, but Sonny could see that was a lie.

Luke admitted that Lulu had tried to clean up the shattered glass in the casino, which had been reminiscent of Luke's mother's attempts to clean up after Luke's father. Luke explained that Tim Spencer had been a dock worker who drank too much, and viciously abused Luke's mother. Luke had learned at an early age how to cover up the abuse until his mother had died on the floor of their tenement apartment because she had been afraid to go to the hospital with a ruptured appendix. Luke suspected that was the reason that he had always been drawn to damsels in distress. Luke admitted that he had always feared that he would turn into his father.

Luke acknowledged that he had crossed the line once, to his eternal shame, with Laura. Luke then quietly admitted that he had almost done it again earlier when Lulu had tried to clean up the broken glass. Luke acknowledged that he had frightened his daughter, which made him realize that he had behaved just like Tim: a drunk and a coward. "Luke, you know what has to be done, right?" Sonny quietly asked. "Yeah, I guess I do. I guess, I do," Luke answered.

At the Haunted Star, Ethan, Lucky, Lulu, Nikolas, and Tracy were gathered at a table when Luke entered the casino. Luke thanked them for agreeing to meet him and then apologized to Lulu for upsetting her earlier. Luke conceded that he had treated everyone shabbily, but he promised them that he was through doing that. Luke announced that he had decided to check into rehab first thing the following morning. "Why not go tonight?" Lucky suggested.

5/25 At Lucky's apartment, Maxie was disappointed when Siobhan answered the door. Siobhan reminded Maxie that she was married to Lucky, so Maxie shouldn't be surprised that Siobhan lived with Lucky. Maxie suspected that might change when Lucky found out. Siobhan was curious what Maxie was talking about, but Maxie refused to elaborate beyond asking that Siobhan not get "all wifey" when Lucky and Elizabeth spoke. Siobhan dragged Maxie into the apartment and then cut to the chase by suggesting that Maxie save the "cryptic bull." Siobhan realized that Maxie knew that Aiden was Lucky's son.

Maxie doubted that Elizabeth would have told Siobhan without talking to Lucky first, so Maxie demanded to know if Siobhan had been spying on Elizabeth or if Siobhan were in cahoots with Helena. Siobhan admitted that she had stumbled across the information, but she assured Maxie that she had no intention of sharing the news with anyone.

Maxie warned Siobhan not to tell Lucky because Maxie intended to do it if Elizabeth didn't. Maxie insisted that Lucky needed to hear about Aiden from someone who truly cared about Lucky, not a green-card wife. Maxie insisted that it wasn't Siobhan's business and that Siobhan would lose Lucky if Lucky learned the truth about his son.

At the Haunted Star, Lucky suggested that Luke enter rehab immediately, but Luke balked. Luke didn't see the harm in waiting until morning. Tracy offered to take Luke to rehab, but Luke remained resistant because he resented being treated like a child. Lulu didn't know why it couldn't wait until morning, so Lucky explained that Luke might change his mind. Lucky asked to speak privately to Luke, but Lulu objected. Tracy assured Lulu that everything would be fine and then persuaded Lulu to leave with her.

Nikolas followed Tracy and Lulu out of the casino, while Ethan lingered behind to assure Luke that he fully supported Luke's decision. Ethan hugged his father and then left. Luke confessed to Lucky that it hurt to see that no one trusted him. Lucky explained that addicts broke everyone's trust because they lied to everyone, especially themselves.

Luke wasn't interested in hearing Lucky preach to him about everything that addicts did wrong because Luke had heard it repeatedly from Lucky over the weeks. Luke quickly adopted a conciliatory tone and then invited Lucky to continue. Lucky warned Luke that he wasn't fooled by Luke's true motive for calling the family together. Lucky knew that Luke had intended the meeting to be a goodbye before Luke went on the run. Lucky accused Luke of being a coward.

Lucky was curious why Luke had apologized to Lulu earlier, but Luke insisted that it didn't concern Lucky. Lucky admitted that he could ask Lulu, but Lucky suspected that Lulu would lie to cover for Luke. Lucky was disgusted with Luke as he accused Luke of abusing Lulu. According to Lucky, Luke was his own worst nightmare: Tim Spencer. Luke resented the comparison.

Luke insisted that Lucky had no idea what kind of man Tim Spencer had been, so Lucky couldn't appreciate the nightmare that Luke had witnessed growing up. "To hell with you," Luke shouted as he punched Lucky. Luke wondered if Lucky felt satisfaction because he had pushed Luke to the edge. Lucky was curious if Luke finally saw just how bad things were. Luke immediately calmed down as he realized that Lucky had been right. Luke had become his father.

Luke deeply regretted killing Jake; he promised that he would never run from the responsibility of what he had done on that fateful night. Luke had always prided himself on never having regrets, but that was no longer true. Luke would always regret taking Jake's life. Luke realized that he had failed Lucky, but he promised that he had always loved him. Lucky assured Luke that it went both ways. Luke picked up his cell phone and then called Tracy.

Lucky arrived home to find Siobhan waiting for him. Lucky revealed that Luke had agreed to go to rehab, but Siobhan noticed that Lucky sounded sad. Lucky confessed that he feared that he had gone too far with his tough love. He revealed that he had made several attempts to get clean during his own battle with an addiction to pills, but he had always failed.

Lucky admitted that he had been scared straight when he had lashed out in anger at Elizabeth while she had been pregnant. Lucky explained that it had made him realize that he couldn't do it on his own, so he had gone to rehab. Lucky confided that he had pushed Luke to the same edge; however, Lucky was afraid that it had been too much for Luke. Lucky worried that the program might not work for his father, so Luke might walk out. Lucky admitted that the possibility of Luke leaving treatment scared him more than anything else.

At Shadybrook, the counselor entered Luke's room to welcome Luke. Luke pulled out a wad of cash and then offered it to the counselor. "Buy you a drink?" Luke asked.

6/6 On the Haunted Star, Dante told Lulu that he thought it was a bad idea to but the boat. Dante worried that Lulu was making an impulsive decision. He said that with all the recent upsets in her life that it might not be the best time to make a life-altering decision. Dante said that if she bought Haunted Star he wanted her to do it for the right reasons. Lulu said the best reason was that redoing it and making it successful again was the best way to get her dad back.

Lucky entered and told Lulu not to count on it. Lulu was surprised to see Lucky because she thought that he had gone away to look for Luke. Lucky said that he had been working and would not look for Luke who obviously did not want to be found. Lulu blamed Lucky for Luke's disappearance. She said that Lucky had not been compassionate and that was the reason that Luke had left. Lulu said that Nikolas had given her the money and she was buying the Haunted Star so Luke would have a place to come back to. Lucky said that it was a bad idea because Lulu was completely ignoring the fact Luke was a raging alcoholic and a thriving Haunted Star was the last place he needed to be.

Dante defended Lulu and said that she could deal with her grief any way she wanted to. Lucky told Dante that he was feeding Lulu's denial. Lulu thanked Dante for standing up for her and then told him that she could take care of it. After Dante left Lulu alone with Lucky, Lulu begged Lucky to put his feelings aside and do what was best for their family, which was to bring Luke home.

When Lucky refused, Lulu said that Luke had left because of Lucky. She said that Luke loved Lucky more than he loved his other children. Lulu said that Luke left because he had ruined his golden boy's golden life. Lucky said that Luke left because he could not face his addiction. Lulu said it was not about rehab. It was about Luke doing what was best for Lucky. Lucky said that was not true. Lulu said that if Luke loved her half as much as he loved Lucky she would go get him and bring him home.

Lulu said that Lucky had to go find Luke and bring him home while she redecorated and reinvigorated the Haunted Star. Lulu told Lucky that she was really sorry about Jake death, but did not excuse Lucky and mean that Lucky could dump his alcoholism on Luke and drive Luke away from the rest of them. Lucky said that he did not intend to drive Luke away. He said that he wanted to save Luke from the out of control drinking that was slowly killing him.

Lulu said that Luke's drinking was not out of control until after Jake's death when Lucky accused Luke of being an alcoholic. Lulu said that Luke was trying to punish himself by making Lucky's accusation a self-fulfilling prophecy. Lucky said that it was not about him and that the whole family had been on board for the intervention. Lucky said that Luke had a disease. Lulu threw up her hands in disgust. She screamed at Lucky that he was the one with the disease, not Luke.

She told Lucky that his obsession had taken Luke away from all of them. She said that Lucky had driven Luke away. She told Lucky that she did not want to hear what he had to say. As Lucky stood and watched, Lulu walked over to the bar and poured and downed a double shot of scotch. When Lucky walked away without speaking, Lulu poured and downed another double shot.

Dante went to Jason to tell him that Luke had bailed on rehab. Dante asked Jason to go to Lucky and urge him to reconcile with Luke. Jason asked if Dante wanted him to tell Lucky that the accident with Jake was not Luke's fault. Dante told Jason that he needed to put aside his grief and do what was best for Lucky's family.

Jason said that it was Luke's fault and he would not say that alcohol did not play a part in Jake's death. Dante said that Jason was saying that Luke's arrogance had killed Jake, but Jason failed to realize that he was too arrogant to leave the business and set a better example for Michael. Dante asked Jason how that made him any better than Luke.

Siobhan got home to Lucky's apartment and found him packing. He said that he had screwed everything up and had to go find his dad. Lucky told Siobhan about his fight with Lulu and said that Lulu was right. Lucky said that he had driven Luke away. He said that Luke had to come to terms with his drinking in his own way. Siobhan agreed that Lucky had to find his dad and said that she would help him find Luke.

6/7 In Lucky's apartment, Lucky admitted to Siobhan that he'd had doubts that Luke would have stayed in rehab. "So what? Who put me in charge of my father's sobriety anyway?" Lucky added. Siobhan replied, "Pretty much your entire family." Lucky clarified that they had expected him to help Luke, not chase Luke away. Lucky decided that it was his responsibility to undo the damage by tracking Luke down. However, Lucky insisted that he needed to do it alone.

Siobhan argued that it was a bad idea for Lucky to take off without having someone to watch his back. Siobhan made it clear that she would follow Lucky, with or without his approval, so she advised him to accept it. Lucky warned Siobhan that it could be dangerous, so he was curious why she would risk joining him on the search.

Siobhan reminded Lucky that he was her husband and that they made a good team. Lucky thought about it for a moment and then agreed to take her along, but he had no idea where to begin. Siobhan asked where a person went when they felt lost. "Home," Lucky replied. Lucky realized that he might know where Luke had gone, so he quickly made arrangements for them to fly out of town.

Lucky and Siobhan were about to leave when there was a knock at the door. It was Lulu and Dante. Lulu explained that she wanted to apologize for blaming Lucky for Luke leaving town. Lulu also regretted drinking in front of Lucky because she realized that it had been low of her. Lulu conceded that she had no right to judge Lucky because Lucky loved Luke.

Lucky admitted that Lulu had been right; he had driven Luke away, so Lucky was determined to make things right by finding their father. Lulu was thrilled especially when Lucky revealed that he had a good idea where Luke might be. Lulu sobered as she insisted that she didn't want Lucky to seek their father out simply because she had goaded him into it. Lucky assured her that she hadn't, but he admitted that she had been wrong about one thing: Luke didn't love Lucky more than he loved Lulu.

Lucky was determined to put Lulu's heart and needs ahead of his own, which meant that he had to get Luke to return home. Lucky promised that he would not shut their father out if Luke didn't stop drinking. Lulu was relieved, but Lucky warned her that Luke might not be receptive. Lulu was confident that Lucky would say exactly what Luke needed to hear. In the background, Dante watched Lulu with concern etched on his face.

Lucky and Siobhan boarded a plane and then took their seats. Siobhan noted that it seemed that Lucky had taken a huge burden off of Lulu's shoulders. Lucky was worried about Lulu's codependency on Luke. He feared that Lulu would self-destruct right along with Luke because Lulu was psychologically and emotionally enmeshed with Luke. Siobhan hoped that wasn't the case because Lucky had a big challenge ahead of him with Luke. Lucky reminded her that she still had the opportunity to bail if she wanted out.

Siobhan refused because she wanted to "stretch her feet for a bit." Lucky was glad that she wanted to join him, but he was curious if she really felt "stifled and domesticated" living in Port Charles with him. Siobhan denied that she had used those terms to describe her new life with him, but Lucky disagreed. He assured her that it was okay because Luke had felt the same way about living in Port Charles. Siobhan pointed out that Luke had settled down in town because of his family.

Lucky revealed that Luke's freedom had ended when Laura had bought her dream house. Siobhan was curious if that was the house that Lucky still owned. Lucky confirmed that it was and then explained that responsibility had never been for Luke. Siobhan wondered how such a free spirit like Luke had raised such a grounded person like Lucky. Siobhan then assured Lucky that they would find his father, but Lucky warned her that Luke was a determined person, so if Luke wanted to destroy himself then nothing would stop him. Siobhan just hoped that Luke didn't drag Lucky down with him.

6/10 (okay quality scenes from this epi, had to get a copy of a vhs tape for this epi) Luke gave a wad of cash to a hooker in a brothel as he continued drinking and self-destructing. In a hotel nearby, Lucky told Siobhan that Luke's father had been a mean drunk who had abandoned his family. Rather than become wards of the state, Luke and his sister, Bobbi, had run away to Florida and their Aunt Ruby, who owned a brothel. Although it had changed hands, Lucky had tracked his dad to the same brothel where Luke had spent his teens.

Lucky blamed himself for backing Luke into a corner. Lucky told Siobhan that he had not been understanding enough of Luke's childhood demons. Lucky said that he had never doubted Luke's love. Siobhan agreed and said that if Luke did not love Lucky then Jake's death would not have hurt Luke so much.

Siobhan said that Luke was grieving for both Jake and Lucky. Lucky asked Siobhan how they should approach Luke. She said that Luke would not like it if he felt "ganged up" on. She told Lucky that he should see Luke alone. Lucky was reluctant at first, but saw the wisdom in what Siobhan said.

Lucky knocked on Luke's door. Luke did not answer at first, but Lucky's persistence finally drew Luke to answer. He was surprised to see Lucky and sarcastically complimented Lucky's detective skills. Luke told Lucky that he would offer a drink, but that might seem insensitive. Luke introduced his hooker friend and then Lucky asked her to leave so that he could spend some time with his dad.

Luke told Lucky to walk away, and then repeated that he had taught Lucky to walk away. Lucky responded that Luke had also taught him when to stand up. Luke told Lucky that guilt would not get him back to Shadybrook. Lucky said that he was not there to take Luke back to Shadybrook. Lucky said he was there to admit that he had been wrong.

6/13 Lucky shared his heart with Luke. Lucky said that he had been unfair. Lucky said that he had thought that he was helping Luke, but had realized that it might seem like punishment to Luke. Lucky said, "I'm sorry." Luke said, "Apology accepted," and then told Lucky to leave. Lucky said that he could not leave until Luke understood how much Lucky needed Luke. Lucky said that he loved Luke unconditionally. Lucky said that he needed Luke in his life and that Lulu, Ethan, and Tracy needed Luke in their lives as well. Lucky said that he was asking Luke to return home.

Luke asked what he was returning home to. Luke said that he was not a hero. Luke said that he did not want to be a dad and that he was a lousy husband. Luke told Lucky that he should have left well enough alone. Luke said that he did not have a home, and he liked it that way. Luke told Lucky to send Lupe in and to go away because Luke was not buying what Lucky was selling. Lucky said that he understood that Luke was mad at him. Lucky said he was not giving up.

Luke said it was just another way that Lucky was trying to change Luke. Luke told Lucky to look around because the brothel represented who Luke was. Luke told Lucky that if he looked hard enough he might see the little kid who scammed the johns and learned to steal and con. Luke challenged Lucky to see the boy who watched his teenage sister go down the hall to service a customer, the boy who viewed sex as a transaction.

Luke told Lucky that he had never wanted to be a father. Luke said that he had wanted to be free to drink, cheat, and steal. Luke said that he had gotten off track when he had fallen in love with Laura and had gotten involved with people who wanted to change him. Luke said that he intended to live fast and furious until he died, and he would not have Lucky slowing him down. Lucky was astonished. He asked Luke if that was it. Lucky wanted to know if Luke was through with him and apologized for ruining Luke's beautiful life.

Luke told Lucky that Lucky still did not get what was going on. Luke said that he regretted killing Lucky's child and causing so much pain to Lucky and Elizabeth. Luke said that the old cliché, "every cloud has a silver lining," was true. Luke said that when Jake was killed, Luke had moved beyond redemption and had been liberated. Luke said that a man who killed a child could never be redeemed. Luke said he was finally beyond redemption.

Luke told Lucky that he was irredeemable, and Luke would live until he died on his terms, answering to no one. Luke told Lucky that if Lucky wanted a father, he should be his own father. Luke said that he had retired. Luke said he was done and asked Lucky to please send Lupe back in and go away.

Luke told Lucky that there was nothing more for him. Luke told Lucky that he would wish Lucky luck but was afraid that Lucky would read too much into the gesture. As a dejected Lucky left the room, tears slowly formed in Luke's eyes.

On the plane back to Port Charles, Lucky told Siobhan that he did not know Luke as well as he had thought. Lucky said that Luke was through with Lucky and the whole Spencer clan permanently. Siobhan said that Luke was filled with self-hatred and was drinking heavily. Siobhan said that Luke was saying crazier and crazier things that he might not mean at all. Lucky said that Luke believed himself to be beyond redemption.

Lucky said that Luke had turned his back. Lucky said that his early memories were of life on the road. Lucky said that he remembered how happy Luke had been then and how much Luke had loved their adventures. Lucky said it had all changed when they arrived in Port Charles and his mom had fallen in love with a house and tired of traveling.

Lucky said that Luke had never been happy after that. Lucky said that Luke had referred to the house as a cage, suffocating his soul. Lucky said that Luke often wished that he had never laid eyes on the house. Lucky said that he was beginning to feel the same way.

6/14 Lulu was out jogging when she spotted Lucky standing on the porch of their mother's house. She stopped to find out where Luke was. Lucky was curious what Lulu knew about their grandfather, Tim Spencer. Lulu knew very little, so Lucky told her about Tim's drinking and the abusive environment that Luke and Bobbie had been raised in. Lulu insisted that Luke was nothing like Tim, but Lucky disagreed. Lucky confessed that he had seen a side of Luke that he had never seen before.

Lulu demanded to know where Luke was, so Lucky revealed that Luke was living in a "whorehouse" in Jacksonville, Florida, where Luke and Bobbie had lived with their Aunt Ruby. Lucky explained that it was the only home that Luke had ever known, but Lulu disagreed. Lucky told Lulu that the Spencer house had never been Luke's home. Lulu was rattled when Lucky confided that being in the whorehouse had been difficult for him because Lucky had imagined what it would have been like if he and Lulu had been in Luke and Bobbie's place. Lucky realized that the "whole mess" had driven Luke straight to the brothel.

Lucky entered the casino and found Ethan playing a game of cards. Lucky revealed that their father had refused to return to Port Charles. Ethan asked Lucky to stick around, so that they could break the news to Lulu together, but Lucky told him that Lulu already knew. Ethan wasn't surprised to discover that Lulu hadn't taken the news well.

Ethan admitted that he had been hoping that Lulu would renovate the Haunted Star, but he realized that it might not happen. Lucky was stunned when Ethan switched gears to update his brother about finding Maya in bed with her new lover, and the trip to the Dominican Republic that had followed. Lucky warned Ethan to be careful when Ethan told him about Sonny's threat to send Ethan to the Pine Barrens; Lucky insisted that he couldn't lose Ethan on top of everything else.

Ethan realized that Lucky truly believed that Luke wouldn't return to the family fold. Lucky explained that Luke wanted nothing to do with the Spencer clan, so Lucky, Ethan, and Lulu were on their own. Ethan believed that his relationship with Luke was different because Ethan and Luke had met as adults. Ethan suggested that perhaps he might be able to get through to Luke because of that. Lucky assured Ethan that he was free to try, but Lucky didn't think that Ethan and Luke were as alike as Ethan believed. Ethan disagreed because he and Luke had lived a similar lifestyle.

Lucky pointed out that Ethan had lived a happy childhood, unlike Luke. Lucky explained that Luke had never been allowed to be a child because Luke had been forced to lie, cheat, and steal while he had watched his sister become a prostitute. According to Lucky, there was a darkness in Luke that Luke couldn't fight. Ethan insisted that there had to be a way to get through to Luke, but Lucky insisted that Luke believed that he was unredeemable. Lucky was adamant that the man that they had known was gone.

Lulu entered the casino a few minutes later. She immediately realized that Ethan knew about their father. Ethan was certain that Luke would bounce back, but Lucky revealed that Luke had never wanted the responsibility of children, so Luke wasn't interested in continuing his relationship with Lucky, Lulu, and Ethan. Lulu and Ethan were shocked when Lucky admitted that Luke had told him that killing Jake had been liberating because it had freed Luke from being a father. Lucky suggested that the sooner that Lulu and Ethan accepted that, the better.

Later, Lulu and Ethan found Lucky standing on the porch of the Spencer house. Ethan was curious what Lucky was doing there, so Lucky explained that he was seeing the house through Luke's eyes. According to Lucky, it was suffocating, but Lulu argued that the house wasn't that bad. Lucky reminded her that their parents' marriage had fallen apart, as had Lucky's marriage to Elizabeth, while they had lived in the house. Lucky confided that Luke had always wanted to see the place "torched."

6/16 Siobhan was relieved when Lucky arrived home. "I guess they do work," Siobhan noted as Lucky closed the door. Lucky wondered what she was talking about, so Siobhan told him about an old wives' tale that suggested baking rosemary cookies helped when a person was concerned about someone returning home. Lucky explained that he had been out driving around in an effort to get his mind off of the situation with Luke. Siobhan was curious if it had worked, but Lucky's lack of response answered her question.

Later, Siobhan returned to the living room with dinner. Lucky was playing with Luke's cigar lighter, which Lucky had confiscated after Luke had tried to set fire to the casino. Siobhan reminded Lucky that Lucky and Luke had shared some good memories, so it was clear that Luke had loved Lucky. Lucky was curious if Siobhan and Luke had talked. "In passing," Siobhan replied.

Lucky wanted to know the details of her conversation with his father, but Siobhan seemed reluctant to share them. Lucky feared that it wasn't good, so Siobhan admitted that Luke had accused Lucky of being shackled to the past, so Lucky should break free. "He's one to talk," Lucky remarked.

Later, Maxie dropped by to see Lucky, but Siobhan explained that Lucky had left. Maxie decided to wait, so she informed Siobhan that she was welcome to leave. Siobhan argued that she lived there. "Not for much longer," Maxie responded. Maxie was certain that things would change when Lucky learned the truth about Aiden's paternity.

Siobhan insisted that it wasn't the time for Lucky to be told that Aiden was his son because Lucky was dealing with Luke walking out on the family. Maxie was confident that the news about Aiden would help Lucky, but Siobhan feared that it would push Lucky over the edge because it would be added pressure. Maxie suggested that Siobhan didn't know Lucky very well. The argument was cut short when Nikolas stopped by.

Maxie told Nikolas that she believed that Lucky needed Elizabeth and the boys, but Nikolas chastised Maxie for saying that in front of Lucky's wife. Frustrated, Maxie decided to leave. Nikolas knew that Siobhan cared about Lucky, but he realized that watching Lucky deal with Luke's latest stunt had been hard on her. Siobhan confessed that Lucky was too hurt to take comfort from her. Nikolas admitted that he had never thought that Luke would fail Lucky as he had. Nikolas confided that he had struggled with his own darkness, but fatherhood had helped him.

Siobhan became distracted when she noticed that Luke's lighter was missing. She suspected that she might have put it away without realizing it, so she apologized for interrupting Nikolas. Nikolas admitted that he had never thought that Luke would turn his back on Lucky. Siobhan suggested that they didn't know that Luke had done that. According to Siobhan, a child was not something to be taken or passed over lightly. "Neither is a child's death," Nikolas added.

On the pier, Elizabeth and Lucky reminisced about the past, when they had slept under the piers after Lucky and Luke had experienced their first falling-out. Elizabeth reminded Lucky that he and Luke had eventually worked things out. Lucky doubted that it would happen again. He told her about finding Luke in a brothel, and begging his father to return to Port Charles. Lucky admitted that Luke had acted like a "bastard." Elizabeth suggested that Luke might have been trying to push Lucky for Lucky's own good.

Lucky confessed that the thought had crossed his mind until Luke had said something that had changed everything. Elizabeth wanted to know what it was, but Lucky didn't want to hurt her. Elizabeth insisted on knowing, so Lucky revealed that Luke had told him that killing Jake had been liberating because it had allowed Luke to walk away from his family. Elizabeth admitted that she was trying hard not to blame Luke, but she thought that it was beyond cruel for Luke to hurt Lucky like that. Lucky regretted pushing Luke so hard, but Elizabeth insisted that no one blamed Lucky. "Well, maybe they should," Lucky argued and then left.

Lucky found Patrick at GH and told him that Siobhan was dropping the lawsuit. Patrick said that everyone was sorry for what had happened. Patrick said that Elizabeth had not been ready to return to work, and the staff had covered for her. Lucky said he could understand why Elizabeth would want to get back to work. He said that Elizabeth was just trying to get through the day and cover the hole in her heart.

Patrick said that Siobhan's marriage to Lucky most likely meant a lot to Siobhan, since she had dropped the suit. Patrick said that all one could do was the best one could and then move on. Lucky said that there was no moving on after the loss of a child. Lucky said that Jake was gone, and that was that. Lucky said that Jake was gone, Luke was gone, and Nikolas was gone. Patrick said that in his many talks with Nikolas, he had discerned that Nikolas was a good father who was probably devastated at losing Aiden.

Lucky said that he would miss Nikolas, but that Nikolas had done what was right for himself. Patrick said that maybe that was also what Siobhan was doing. Patrick said that Siobhan was freeing Lucky to raise Aiden without a lawsuit hanging over Lucky's head.

Lucky went to see Elizabeth so that he could tell her that Siobhan had dropped the lawsuit. Elizabeth was relieved. Lucky said that once Siobhan had seen that nothing good could result from the lawsuit and that it would hurt lots of people, she was willing to end the suit. Lucky said that both he and Elizabeth needed to heal from losing Jake. Lucky said that he could not stop thinking about the miracle that Aiden was his son. Lucky hastened to point out that Aiden being his son did not change what had gone wrong between Lucky and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth said that even though she had known that Lucky was married, telling Lucky about Aiden had seemed to be the right thing to do. Lucky said that he had wanted to marry Siobhan because he had wanted her to stay in the country. Lucky said that when Siobhan woke up in the hospital, he had promised to be there for her. Elizabeth said that she would expect nothing less of Lucky.

7/12 Elizabeth spotted Lucky near the nurses' station, so she stopped to say hello. Lucky was curious what she was doing at the hospital, so she explained that she had dropped Cameron off at the daycare center to join the other kids on a trip to the zoo. Lucky and Elizabeth reminisced about a time that they had taken Jake to the zoo to see the tigers. Elizabeth admitted that Cam had asked her if Jake could see the tigers from heaven. Lucky and Elizabeth shared a bittersweet smile as Siobhan rolled up in a wheelchair.

Siobhan greeted Elizabeth, but the tension was thick. Elizabeth quickly explained that she had dropped Cam off at the daycare center. Elizabeth admitted that she was glad to see that Siobhan was feeling better and then quickly excused herself. Lucky confessed that he was relieved that things had gone well between Siobhan and Elizabeth. Siobhan conceded that it could have been much worse. Lucky assured Siobhan that he had accidentally bumped into Elizabeth.

Siobhan pointed out that the daycare center was on the fifth floor, so she was curious why Elizabeth had been on the tenth floor. "Never mind," Siobhan added before he could reply. Moments later, they left to go home. At the apartment, Lucky insisted that Siobhan get some rest, but she admitted that she would like to take a few days off to go to the beach. Lucky assured her that they could go away once she was fully recovered. Siobhan teased that she didn't follow just any man halfway around the world, or marry them, but she had made an exception for him.

Lucky was curious if it bothered her that he had nearly killed her. Siobhan regretted that she hadn't realized sooner that Lucky wouldn't take his own life. Lucky was surprised that she had blamed herself for running into the house when he had been the one to set the fire. Siobhan insisted that they had both been out of their minds on that fateful night. She suggested that Lucky had set the fire because he had been trying to make a break from the past and because Luke had hated the house.

Lucky confessed that Luke had indulged in a bit of "revisionist history" because there had been plenty of happy times with Luke in the house. According to Lucky, Luke had tried to forget those times because they were painful reminders of everything that Luke had lost. Lucky suspected that it had been easier for Luke to believe the lies rather than face the truth. Siobhan argued that guilt and grief were terrible burdens for Luke and Lucky. Lucky promised her that he was fine, but Siobhan didn't believe him. Lucky argued that there wasn't a rulebook for mourning a child.

Siobhan assured Lucky that everyone had a breaking point, so it was okay for Lucky to admit that he had reached his. Siobhan recalled that Lucky had turned to his father for support after learning about Jake's death, so she could appreciate how difficult it had been for Lucky to discover that Luke had been responsible for the tragedy. Siobhan wondered if Lucky had considered going to grief counseling. Lucky chuckled, but Siobhan suggested that it might help him. Lucky doubted that anyone could understand what he was going through.

Siobhan kept pushing Lucky to consider talking to a therapist until Lucky shouted at her to drop it. Siobhan was taken aback. Lucky took several moments to calm down and then apologized to her for the outburst. Siobhan argued that he had proven her point; she feared that he would continue to lash out or worse. Lucky appreciated that she wanted to help him, but he refused to discuss it further. Siobhan agreed to let it drop, but Lucky sensed that she was holding back.

Siobhan admitted that she was concerned about his sobriety, so Lucky assured her that he continued to work the program. Siobhan promised him that she wouldn't complain as long as he took care of himself. She then returned to the topic of their vacation. Lucky told her that he would take her to the beach as soon as he received a note from her doctor. Siobhan vowed that he would have it, even if she had to forge the note herself. Lucky chuckled and then confided that he knew that there was a reason that he liked her.

7/19 At the apartment, Lucky surprised Siobhan with a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. Siobhan invited Lucky to join her, but he explained that he had to leave. Siobhan was curious why, so Lucky revealed that he and Elizabeth had hoped to get back to having a weekly family meal with the boys if it were okay with Siobhan. Siobhan reminded him that she was his wife, not his jailor. She encouraged Lucky to spend time with his sons.

Siobhan admitted that she had never imagined herself settling down with someone, but her immigration problems had forced the issue. Lucky argued that their marriage was about more than a green card, but Siobhan insisted that he had not been ready to get married because he had still been carrying around baggage from his past relationship with Elizabeth.

Lucky reminded Siobhan that Elizabeth would always be a part of his life because they shared children. However, he conceded that things were complicated because of the way that Siobhan felt about Elizabeth. Siobhan claimed that Elizabeth had tried to kill her, so she believed that she had the right to feel as she did. Siobhan resented that Lucky continued to defend Elizabeth, even though Siobhan had dropped the lawsuit.

Lucky was stunned that Siobhan believed that Elizabeth had intentionally administered the wrong medication. Siobhan reminded Lucky of Elizabeth's affair with Nikolas and then accused Elizabeth of expecting Lucky to ride to her rescue. According to Siobhan, their marriage was proof that Lucky liked to save people. Siobhan insisted that Lucky didn't need her because Elizabeth was more than willing to play the part of a damsel in distress.

Siobhan begged Lucky to be honest with her if he intended to work things out with Elizabeth. Lucky promised Siobhan that he had no plans to reconcile with Elizabeth, but Siobhan argued that Lucky and Elizabeth shared a son. Siobhan worried that Lucky tried to reassure her about Elizabeth, so that she wouldn't reinstate the malpractice lawsuit.

Lucky insisted that Elizabeth wasn't an evil person, but Siobhan wasn't swayed. She admitted that she was concerned about Lucky for all the reasons that they had discussed. Lucky realized that Siobhan feared that he might do something destructive again, so he assured her that he had no intention of burning down another house. Siobhan believed him, so she gave him her blessing to spend time with his sons.

At the Webber residence, Elizabeth explained to Cam that he couldn't go to his friend Cole's house for pizza because she planned to have a family dinner with her sons. "Why can't daddy come?" Cam wondered. Elizabeth explained that Siobhan was recovering from an injury, so Lucky had to stay home to take care of her. Later, Elizabeth was startled when Lucky entered the house. She admitted that she hadn't expected him to join them for dinner. Lucky explained that Siobhan was tired of Lucky hovering, so she had kicked him out.

Lucky changed the subject by asking where the boys were. Elizabeth revealed that Aiden was taking a nap and that she had taken Cam next door to his friend's house because he had been asking her some uncomfortable questions. Lucky was curious what kind of questions Cam had been asking, so Elizabeth told him that Cam had been curious why Jake couldn't join them for the family dinner. Lucky wondered if Elizabeth were okay, so she confided that she had managed to keep it together until she had dropped Cam off at William's house. Her eyes filled with tears as she admitted that she missed Jake.

Elizabeth explained that she had been numb after Jake's death, which had led to several mistakes, one of which had nearly cost Siobhan's life. Lucky argued that it had been an accident. Elizabeth agreed, but she confessed that it had forced her to open her eyes as to how she had been coping with her grief. Lucky assured Elizabeth that she was a wonderful mother, who had been doing a great job with the children. Elizabeth appreciated the support, but she revealed that she didn't want the boys to think that Jake was more important than they were.

Lucky assured Elizabeth that the boys would always be his first priority. Elizabeth smiled as she admitted that she couldn't have asked for a better father. Lucky confessed that he hoped the Webber genes offset Aiden's Spencer genes because he didn't want Aiden to struggle with addiction. Elizabeth was curious if Lucky had heard from Luke.

Lucky revealed that he hadn't, but he admitted that he wished that Lulu would give up the search, and accept that Luke didn't want to be a part of their lives. Elizabeth wondered if Lucky had accepted that painful realization. Lucky insisted that he hadn't been given a choice. He wanted to do everything that he could to be a good father to Cam and Aiden, so that history wouldn't repeat itself.

Later, Elizabeth served brownies for dessert. Lucky and Elizabeth decided to teach Cam how to make brownie wishes, as Emily had once done. They explained that the wishes had to be for someone else, so Elizabeth suggested that they make some wishes for Aiden. Cam wished that Aiden would grow up, so that he and his brother could ride bikes together.

Elizabeth wished a happy, healthy, and long life for her son, while Lucky wished that Aiden learned to take things in stride, and always remember how much he was loved. Cam, Elizabeth, and Lucky grabbed brownies off of the plate just as someone knocked on the door. Elizabeth was surprised to find Siobhan standing on her doorstep. Elizabeth invited Siobhan inside as Siobhan thanked Elizabeth for the invitation to join them for the family dinner.

7/20 At Elizabeth's house, Elizabeth revealed that she had decided to use the time off from work to focus on her sons. Lucky confessed that Cam had been talking about going to see the sailboat races. Elizabeth recalled that Cam had mentioned wanting to go with Lucky, so Siobhan suggested that she and Lucky take Cam to see the races. Elizabeth smiled while Lucky quickly changed the subject by asking where Cam was. Elizabeth offered to check Cam's room, but Lucky seized the opportunity to do it himself.

After Lucky left the room, Elizabeth asked if Siobhan wanted anything from the kitchen. Siobhan snidely suggested that Elizabeth cut the act. Siobhan resented Elizabeth's "sweetness and smiles" when she was well aware that Elizabeth didn't like her. Siobhan assured Elizabeth that it wasn't necessary to perform for "my husband's benefit." Elizabeth insisted that the incident in the operating room had been a terrible accident, but Siobhan didn't believe her. Elizabeth suggested that Siobhan would have died if Elizabeth had meant to kill her.

Siobhan wondered if that were a threat. Elizabeth clarified that she had been attempting to illustrate that it truly had been an accident. Elizabeth insisted that she had a clear conscience about what had transpired in the operating room because she hadn't meant to harm Siobhan in any way. Siobhan didn't believe Elizabeth, so Elizabeth admitted that she would welcome the lawsuit because it would show Lucky who Siobhan really was. Siobhan suggested that Elizabeth would like to paint Siobhan the villain because it would make Elizabeth look like the "poor, suffering mother of his children."

Elizabeth pointed out that she had lost one of those children, so she doubted that Siobhan could understand the depth of that grief. Siobhan was unrepentant as she questioned why Elizabeth had been in the operating room if Elizabeth had been so "rattled" by the experience. Siobhan suggested that perhaps Elizabeth had intended to use the grief as an excuse. Elizabeth was stunned when Siobhan coldly accused Elizabeth of trading on Jake's death to get what she wanted.

Elizabeth ordered Siobhan to leave. Siobhan snatched up her things and then marched to the door, which Elizabeth held open. Siobhan invited Elizabeth to cry on Lucky's shoulder, but she warned Elizabeth that Lucky would soon stop being a slave to Elizabeth's manipulations. After Siobhan left, Lucky returned to the living room. He was curious where Siobhan was, so Elizabeth confessed that she shouldn't have invited Siobhan to dinner. Lucky realized that Elizabeth and Siobhan had argued.

Elizabeth accused Siobhan of playing some kind of "martyr act," that she was certain would end with Siobhan forcing Lucky to choose between his wife, and Elizabeth and the boys. Elizabeth hoped that Siobhan did exactly that because she believed that Lucky was better off without Siobhan. Lucky disagreed. He admitted that keeping Siobhan in the country had been part of the reason that he had married Siobhan. Lucky explained that he and Siobhan had wanted to explore their relationship further.

Elizabeth understood that Siobhan was his wife, but she made it clear that it didn't give Siobhan the right to trash Elizabeth at every turn. Elizabeth hated that Lucky was caught in the middle. Lucky thought that everyone needed some time to adjust to things, but he promised Elizabeth that nothing would stop him from spending time with the boys.

Elizabeth reminded him that it also meant that he would be running into her, which Siobhan might not like. Lucky wasn't concerned because he and Elizabeth knew where they really stood with each other, but Elizabeth confessed that she wasn't so certain. Lucky seemed at a loss for words, so he thanked for dinner and then left.

7/22 Mac was surprised when he saw Lucky enter the police station. Lucky explained that Siobhan was recovering nicely, so he was ready to return to work. Mac had reservations about Lucky reporting for duty because Lucky had suffered a lot of personal tragedy, including Jake's death and Luke being named the prime suspect in the arson on Charles Street.

Lucky assured Mac that he wouldn't let his family problems compromise his work. Mac revealed that he had a case with links to organized crime, but he was reluctant to assign Lucky to it because of Lucky's history with substance abuse. Mac explained that large quantities of narcotics had disappeared from the hospital, and that the medication had been Lucky's drug of choice.

Lucky speculated that it was an inside job. Mac agreed, but he confessed that he wanted Dante to handle the case. Lucky pointed out that Dante wasn't around, so he persuaded Mac to give him the case. Mac reluctantly agreed, but on the condition that Lucky keep him informed every step of the way.

Later, Lucky arranged to meet Elizabeth on the pier. Elizabeth assumed that Lucky intended to tell her that Siobhan had decided to resurrect the malpractice suit. Elizabeth assured Lucky that she was prepared to defend herself in court, and then admitted that it would be worth it to get Siobhan out of Lucky's life.

Lucky surprised her by revealing that he and Siobhan were in a good place and that Siobhan didn't have any plans to sue Elizabeth for malpractice. Lucky explained that he had called her to tell her that he was investigating a prescription drug ring. He was curious if she had seen or heard anything that might help him.

Elizabeth feared that Lucky was trying to find a way to self-destruct, and follow in Luke's footsteps. She was curious about Siobhan's reaction to Lucky's new case. Lucky admitted that he hadn't told his wife, but he was confident that she would be fine with it. Lucky assured Elizabeth that he had discussed it with Mac, but he realized that he probably should have discussed it with Elizabeth first. Elizabeth disagreed; he should have talked to his wife first.

Lucky argued that Elizabeth had lived through his addiction with him, but Elizabeth reminded him that she couldn't keep him sober. Lucky agreed, but he insisted that he needed to do something constructive with his time. Elizabeth warned Lucky that she had thought the same thing, which had nearly led to her making a fatal mistake in the operating room.

Elizabeth cautioned Lucky not to ignore the signs if he became overwhelmed with the case. She also made Lucky promise to seek her out if he needed someone to talk to. Elizabeth agreed to help Lucky with the case, but she explained that she needed to make certain that she was reinstated first. Lucky thanked her and then returned to the police station.

A short time later, Maxie entered the squad room, looking for Mac. Lucky revealed that Mac wasn't around, so Maxie decided to file a complaint with Lucky. Maxie told Lucky about Spinelli's change in personality and Jason's decision to keep Spinelli out of trouble by hiring him for a bogus job. Maxie was upset because an "overzealous meathead" had given Jackal a citation for loitering while Spinelli had been staking out the bakery.

Lucky promised to take care of it, so Maxie wondered if Lucky could also arrange for the police officer to convince Spinelli that Spinelli was working a big crime. Lucky warned her that it wouldn't be a good idea, and then revealed that he wouldn't have the time because he had a new case, so he had to get to the hospital to interview people. Maxie was curious if one of those people was Elizabeth. Lucky reminded her that he was a married man. Maxie realized that Lucky was too nice to dump Siobhan after she had suffered a serious accident, but Maxie insisted that it was obvious to everyone, including Siobhan, that he and Elizabeth were destined to be together.

At the hospital, Elizabeth bumped into her brother. Steve hugged Elizabeth and then asked her how everything was going. Elizabeth explained that things seemed better since Aiden's paternity had been revealed.

Moments later, Robin approached them and then asked to have a private word with Elizabeth. After Steve walked away, Robin confessed that she had intended to call Elizabeth to ask her to return to work. Robin admitted that they were short-handed, so she needed someone to work at the nurses' station. Elizabeth eagerly agreed to return to work, so Robin wondered if she could start immediately.

Elizabeth called Audrey to ask her to watch the boys and then changed into scrubs. Steve pulled Robin aside to warn her that it had been a bad idea to ask Elizabeth to return to work. Steve feared that it was too soon, but Robin insisted that Elizabeth would only be working at the nurses' station, so no one would be at risk. "No one but Elizabeth," Steve complained.

Nearby, Matt gave Siobhan a clean bill of health after an examination. Siobhan's smile quickly disappeared when she spotted Elizabeth at the nurses' station. After Matt walked away, Siobhan angrily demanded to know what Elizabeth was doing back at work. Elizabeth explained that the chief of staff had asked her to return. Siobhan snapped that it hadn't been a smart decision and then stormed off.

In the hallway, Steve called out to his sister. Elizabeth saw the concern on Steve's face, so she realized that he didn't intend to welcome her back to work. Steve confessed that he thought it was too soon for her to return to work. He implored to her go home.

At the police station, Lucky pulled out a piece of paper, unfolded it, and then called his old drug dealer. Lucky explained that he wanted to buy some drugs, but before he could make arrangements, Siobhan walked up to his desk. Lucky promised to call the drug dealer back and then ended the call. Siobhan was furious because Elizabeth had been allowed to return to work. She felt like no one cared about what had happened to her, so she wondered if she would lose Lucky if she reinstated the malpractice suit.

7/25 At the Port Charles Police Station, Siobhan talked to Lucky. Siobhan was outraged to find out that Elizabeth had returned to work and had suffered no consequences as a result of the near fatal accident that could have cost Siobhan her life after Elizabeth had mistakenly given Siobhan the wrong drug while Siobhan was undergoing surgery at General Hospital. Siobhan asked if Lucky would leave her if she reinstated the malpractice lawsuit. Siobhan said she could be saving the life of another hapless patient by stopping Elizabeth from working.

Lucky reiterated that Elizabeth had not meant to harm Siobhan. Lucky told Siobhan about the drug case he was working on and said that Elizabeth was helping him. Lucky said that Elizabeth would only be working at the GH desk. Siobhan said that it would not be good for Lucky to work on a case involving prescription drugs because it would put too much temptation in Lucky's path. Lucky said he was working the program and that he would not be any good to the PCPD if he could not work on drug cases. Siobhan said that the situation was tailor made for Lucky's self-destruction. Siobhan asked Lucky not to tempt fate. Lucky sardonically thanked Siobhan for her vote of confidence.

Siobhan said that she was afraid for herself and Lucky. Siobhan worried that Lucky would slide into drugs and then turn to Elizabeth for comfort. Siobhan said that she did not want to lose Lucky to drugs or to Elizabeth. Lucky said that Siobhan was not listening to him. Lucky said that he did not duck out on cases. Siobhan said that she would not be a hypocrite and watch him self-destruct. Siobhan left the PCPD without giving Lucky a chance to reply.

Steve was surprised and appalled to see Elizabeth working at GH. Steve told Elizabeth that it was too soon for her to be back at work and that it was reckless to tempt fate. Elizabeth said that she was only working the desk and that Lucky needed her. Elizabeth disclosed that Lucky was conducting a police investigation at GH. Steve said that being involved with Lucky made the situation even worse for Elizabeth.

Elizabeth said it made her feel good to help Lucky. Steve said that Elizabeth was using the police investigation as a way to stay connected to Lucky because Elizabeth was harboring the fantasy that she and Lucky would reunite. Elizabeth said that she felt useful, happy, and whole. Steve said that she was not whole and asked Elizabeth to reconsider her decision to return to work.

Elizabeth and Lucky met up. Elizabeth said that she had been reinstated. Elizabeth worried about Siobhan's reaction. Elizabeth said that she understood Siobhan's frustration but she was not going to waste time placating Siobhan. Elizabeth said that she was going to work hard at the desk and prove herself. Lucky told Elizabeth not to get too involved.

Elizabeth said that she had faith in Lucky and asked Lucky to have faith in her. Lucky relented. When Elizabeth asked about the case, Lucky said he had a meeting with his former drug dealer. Lucky said that he would make a score and try to trace the drugs back to GH. When Elizabeth did not comment, Lucky asked if Elizabeth was going to tell Lucky to be careful. Elizabeth said there was no need because she trusted him.

Ethan met up with Siobhan, who feared that Lucky's drug case would put him in the direct path of temptation. Siobhan told Ethan that the case gave Elizabeth an excuse to spend more time with Lucky. Ethan admitted that the situation did not sound good for Lucky. Siobhan said that Lucky was not Luke, but she feared that Lucky was setting himself up to be felled by one of his demons, either drugs or Elizabeth. Ethan asked if Siobhan was jealous.

Siobhan said that it was no secret that she loathed Elizabeth, whom Siobhan categorized as a helpless conniver who gave women a bad name, but Siobhan said the reason she worried was because Lucky had told Siobhan how destructive his relationship with Elizabeth had been. Ethan said he would try to help.

Ethan found Lucky on the docks and offered "pharmaceutical assistance." As Ethan continued to talk in drug code, Lucky said he was on a case. Lucky told Ethan that he was not amused. Ethan told Lucky that Lucky was on a slippery slope. Ethan said he was there to keep Lucky from sliding further. Ethan said that Lucky was not strong enough to handle a drug investigation. Lucky thanked Ethan for his vote of confidence. Ethan said that Lucky was not in the right headspace for a drug case.

Lucky said that he did not have to be because he was a cop. Ethan said that using Elizabeth on the case was just adding pressure to her. Ethan asked if Lucky wanted to crash and burn so that Lucky would have an excuse to pop pills. Lucky said he neither needed nor wanted Ethan's help. Then Lucky asked Ethan how he knew about Lucky's investigation.

Siobhan confronted Elizabeth at GH. Elizabeth said that she was busy, but Siobhan told her to make time. Siobhan said that Lucky was headed for serious trouble. Siobhan said that if Elizabeth loved Lucky, Elizabeth would slide off her high horse and listen. Siobhan said that it was a bad time to put temptation in Lucky's path.

Elizabeth said that unlike Siobhan, she had faith in Lucky. Siobhan said that Elizabeth would do anything, including destroying Lucky's sobriety, to get Lucky back. Siobhan said that Elizabeth did not care about anyone except Elizabeth. Elizabeth accused Siobhan of marrying Lucky to get a green card.

Siobhan said that Elizabeth had not been able to keep Lucky off drugs when Elizabeth had been married to Lucky. Siobhan said that Elizabeth had been so absorbed by the DNA test and thoughts of getting Lucky back that she had failed to keep an eye on Jake.

Elizabeth said that Siobhan was cruel. Siobhan told Elizabeth that Elizabeth wanted Lucky back as her savior and accused Elizabeth of busily planning her next move. Elizabeth shed tears, but Siobhan told Elizabeth to save her phony emotions for Lucky, who was sure to be reeled in by them.

Elizabeth was shaken and tearful after Siobhan left. As Elizabeth started filing patient charts, she dropped several of them on the floor. As Elizabeth bent to retrieve the files, she had a flashback to the day that Aiden's paternity results had arrived. Elizabeth remembered being so absorbed in reading the test results that she had not noticed that her front door was open or that Jake had gone outside without supervision.

7/26 At the hospital, Elizabeth's eyes welled up with tears as she had a flashback of the last moments of Jake's life. Siobhan lurked in the hallway, watching as Elizabeth fled to the supply closet. Siobhan followed Elizabeth and then snidely suggested that Elizabeth learn to be more careful, or the wrong person might follow her.

Siobhan then revealed that she had spoken to Ethan about Lucky's new case and that Ethan had agreed that it would be a mistake for Lucky to investigate the drug ring. Elizabeth insisted that she believed Lucky's assurances that he could handle it. Siobhan claimed that it was no different than Elizabeth believing that she could be a nurse.

According to Siobhan, it was the height of irresponsibility. Siobhan wondered if Elizabeth wanted to kill someone else. "Wasn't Jake enough?" Siobhan asked. Elizabeth was stunned by the cruel question. She informed Siobhan that the memory of what had happened to Jake tortured her every single day, so she didn't need Siobhan to stick her "feet over the flames." Siobhan coldly told Elizabeth to get professional help.

Siobhan questioned if perhaps Elizabeth wanted to unravel in the hopes that Lucky would ride to the rescue. Elizabeth was at a loss for words, so Siobhan suggested that Elizabeth might want to sink so far down that no one could help her. Elizabeth wondered why she would want to do that. Siobhan accused Elizabeth of believing that, if she couldn't have Lucky's heart while she was alive, then she'd settle for haunting his heart in death.

Later, Siobhan arrived at the pier. She winced with pain and then rubbed her forehead just as Lucky arrived. Lucky insisted that Siobhan shouldn't be there, but Siobhan explained that she needed to talk to him about Elizabeth. Lucky demanded to know if Siobhan had talked to Ethan, so Siobhan readily admitted that she had. Lucky suggested that Siobhan make up her mind about whose recovery she wanted to derail more: his or Elizabeth's. Siobhan was hurt, but Lucky refused to apologize.

Lucky explained that Siobhan had been trashing Elizabeth at every turn, and then she had decided to undermine his investigation. Siobhan couldn't believe that Lucky saw things that way, but Lucky argued that anyone would. Lucky accused Siobhan of being jealous because she didn't like Elizabeth, and suspected Siobhan feared that the investigation would throw them together. Siobhan argued that she had every right to be wary of Elizabeth's involvement because Elizabeth was "an unstable, clingy, manipulative ex." Lucky insisted that Siobhan's remark had proved his point.

Siobhan conceded that she could only imagine how devastating it had been for Lucky and Elizabeth to lose their child, but she insisted that there were other ways to deal with the grief than to fall into "a familiar destructive orbit" with each other. Lucky argued that it wasn't like that, but Siobhan warned him that she wasn't alone in her opinion, which was why she had gone to Ethan.

Siobhan explained that she wouldn't have had to do that if she had been able to reason with Elizabeth. Siobhan revealed that she had gotten into it with Elizabeth when Elizabeth had supported Lucky's decision to pursue the investigation. Lucky explained that Elizabeth believed in him, but Siobhan claimed that Elizabeth was merely enabling him, and he her. Siobhan was certain that things would end badly if Lucky didn't drop the investigation.

Elizabeth cried as she threw herself into Jason's arms as soon as he opened the door. Jason comforted Elizabeth for a moment and then led her to the living room. Sam offered to get Elizabeth something to drink, so she went to the kitchen to fetch a glass of water. Elizabeth apologized to Jason, and then confessed that she didn't know where else to go. Elizabeth explained that she couldn't shake the guilt over losing Jake. Jason insisted that the accident hadn't been her fault, but Elizabeth revealed that she couldn't believe that when people made her feel like it had been.

Jason was curious who had blamed Elizabeth for Jake's death, so Elizabeth told him about Siobhan's accusation that she was an "irresponsible mother, nurse, and human being" who was happily marching around using the death of their son to lure Lucky into some kind of "love-trap." Jason insisted that it was ridiculous, but Elizabeth acknowledged that she tended to do crazy things when she felt alone and lost.

Sam returned with a glass of water and then handed it to Elizabeth. Elizabeth was startled when she noticed the unusual ring on Sam's finger, so Sam told Elizabeth about the engagement. Elizabeth seemed startled, but recovered quickly, congratulated them, and then apologized for intruding. Elizabeth insisted that she had to stop leaning on "all my kids' fathers."

Elizabeth was horrified at how terrible that sounded, but Sam refused to let Elizabeth put herself down. Sam advised Elizabeth not to let other people define who Elizabeth was. Sam reminded Elizabeth that they had all done things that they wished that they could undo. Sam insisted that Elizabeth was not responsible for Jake's death, and that she understood that Elizabeth had turned to Jason for support and understanding.

After Sam left the room, Elizabeth confessed that Sam's words had helped. Jason assured Elizabeth that everything that Sam had said was true. Jason was happy that Sam had been the one to tell Elizabeth those things because he knew that Elizabeth had expected him to take Elizabeth's side. Elizabeth clarified that she would have wanted Jason to tell her the truth if she had been wrong. Jason assured her that she wasn't. Elizabeth asked Jason to thank Sam and then started to leave.

Jason invited Elizabeth to stay, but Elizabeth insisted that she needed to leave. She confessed that she kept telling herself that she wouldn't turn to him, yet there she was. Jason explained that they had a connection. "It's just the way it is," he added. Elizabeth smiled sadly as she told him that Jake had been so much more than that. Elizabeth congratulated Jason again and then left.

On the rooftop of the hospital, Elizabeth watched as lightning flashed across the sky. Siobhan appeared moments later. Elizabeth explained that she had heard enough from Siobhan for the day, so she wondered what it would take for Siobhan to go away. Siobhan looked over the ledge and then suggested that no one would believe it was an accident if one of them went over.

On the pier, Lucky made contact with a drug dealer, who gave Lucky a bottle of Hydrocodone, which had been Lucky's drug of choice.

7/27 On the hospital rooftop, Siobhan suggested that people dealt with grief in different ways. Siobhan explained that some kept their grief private, while others, like Elizabeth, displayed it for all to see. Siobhan wondered if Elizabeth intended to use her grief to lure Lucky into her arms, and bed. Elizabeth denied it, but Siobhan accused Elizabeth of trying to steal Lucky from her by using every "dirty trick in the book" including the memory of Lucky's son.

Elizabeth reminded Siobhan that Jake had been her son, too, and that she missed Jake every "aching second." Siobhan didn't doubt it because Jake had been a beautiful child who had been happy, but unaware that his mother was a "lying slut" who had been "hell-bent on eliminating the competition." Siobhan moved in close and then pushed Elizabeth.

Elizabeth found herself with her back to the edge of the roof, so she shoved Siobhan's hands away. Siobhan demanded to know if Elizabeth had been relieved or giddy when she had realized that she had put the wrong medication in Siobhan's I.V. Elizabeth insisted that it had been an accident and that she would never have risked being separated from her children by killing Siobhan. Siobhan insisted that Elizabeth hadn't planned on being caught, but Elizabeth argued that Lucky would have investigated it.

Siobhan wondered if it were a good idea for Elizabeth to be standing so close to the edge of the roof, but Elizabeth warned Siobhan that no one would believe that it had been an accident if Elizabeth were to fall. Siobhan was curious if Elizabeth truly cared about Lucky. Elizabeth reminded Siobhan of the children, so Siobhan pointed out that Elizabeth had three children by three different men, but Lucky was raising them as his own, which proved that he was a caring person.

Siobhan accused Elizabeth of turning a blind eye to Lucky heading down a dangerous path, but Elizabeth insisted that Lucky knew what he was doing. Siobhan argued that Lucky was a recovering addict. Elizabeth's temper flared as she reminded Siobhan that Siobhan hadn't been around when Lucky had battled his addiction, so she resented Siobhan lecturing her. Elizabeth pointed out that Siobhan had no idea what it was like to arrive home to a ransacked apartment only to realize that Lucky had torn it apart, looking for something to pawn for drugs.

Siobhan didn't understand why, knowing that, Elizabeth couldn't appreciate that Lucky would be tempted by drugs if he worked the investigation. Elizabeth suggested that Siobhan's lack of faith in Lucky spoke volumes about Siobhan and Lucky's relationship. Elizabeth reminded Siobhan that Lucky liked to save people, so perhaps Siobhan had been Lucky's "newest cause." Siobhan burst out laughing and then accused Elizabeth of cornering the market on being a damsel in distress.

Elizabeth conceded that she had depended on Lucky for a long time, but she insisted that she had been standing on her own feet recently. Siobhan disagreed, since she had found Elizabeth sobbing in the supply closet. Siobhan advised Elizabeth to pull herself together, or they would both lose Lucky for good. After Siobhan left, Elizabeth returned to the nurses' station.

A short time later, Monica approached looking for Steve. Elizabeth revealed that Steve had left for the day, but she offered to page him. Monica explained that she had wanted to apologize because she had always prided herself on being a professional, but there had been times when she had gotten too close to a patient for comfort.

Elizabeth knew what that was like. Elizabeth revealed that she hadn't been able to set foot in the pediatrics wing since Jake's death four months before. Elizabeth was stunned when Monica confessed that she wished that she had known her grandson. Monica confirmed that she knew that Jake had been Jason's son. Elizabeth started to speak, but Monica cut her off.

Monica reminded Elizabeth that Monica had lost Alan, Emily, and AJ, which meant that Jason was her only surviving child. Monica was curious if Elizabeth would have wanted to know if she'd had another grandchild. Elizabeth's eyes welled up with tears as she confessed that she didn't know what to say. "Don't, just listen," Monica told her. Monica admitted that she wished that she had known Jake. Elizabeth explained that they had thought that Jake would have been better off raised by Lucky.

Monica explained that Jason didn't understand the importance of family, but Elizabeth did. Elizabeth insisted that it hadn't been her place to tell Monica about Jake, but Monica disagreed. Elizabeth assured Monica that Jake had been a happy child, but Monica didn't find any comfort in that. According to Monica, she would only get to know her grandson through other people's memories. Monica didn't want Jake's death to break Elizabeth, but she warned Elizabeth not to let fear and selfishness destroy Cameron and Aiden's lives. After Monica walked away, Elizabeth spotted a pamphlet on narcotic addiction, so she picked it up.

Lucky entered his apartment and then looked at the bottle of pills that the drug dealer had given him. Lucky quickly slipped them into his pocket when he heard Siobhan enter the apartment. Siobhan admitted that she was glad that he was home, so Lucky sarcastically wondered if she had been afraid that he had been out getting high. Siobhan apologized if he thought that she had been overstepping her bounds by talking to Ethan, but she insisted that she had a right to be concerned about Lucky because she was his wife. Lucky reminded Siobhan that he was a cop, so if he had to meet up with a drug dealer to get information about an investigation then he would.

Siobhan argued that Lucky wasn't obligated to take on the case. "Maybe I wanted to," Lucky shot back. Siobhan suspected that Lucky wanted to prove that he was better than Luke, but Lucky argued that Luke and Elizabeth had nothing to do with his case. Siobhan wondered if Lucky truly believed that he could be around pills without being tempted. Lucky resented everyone treating him like he was a junkie; he insisted that he was clean and that he planned to stay that way. After Lucky stormed out of the apartment, Siobhan winced with pain as she rubbed her head.

7/29 Elizabeth locked the drug closet at General Hospital. As she walked away, Elizabeth noticed a man dressed as an orderly trying to open the door. Elizabeth challenged him and demanded to see his badge. When he could not produce it, Elizabeth said she would call security. Epiphany appeared and censured Elizabeth. Epiphany vouched for the orderly as a new hire and believed his claim that he had thought the drug closet was a supply closet.

Epiphany sent the orderly on his way and chastised Elizabeth for not paying attention to her assigned desk duties. Epiphany told Elizabeth to be professional or to go home. After Epiphany and Elizabeth left the area, another man, dressed as a janitor, unlocked the drug closet and went in.

Lucky's drug supplier, J.T., met with Anthony Zacchara in an alley behind a warehouse. Anthony warned J.T. that the product was for sale, not personal consumption. J.T. said he had to make sure that the product was pure. Anthony asked what progress was being made with their "undercover addict." J.T. said that he had given Lucky a sample, and he was waiting to see what the results were. J.T. said that if Lucky took even one pill, he would be back for more.

Anthony made a phone call with instructions to make a delivery immediately. He said to tie the package with a green ribbon. Anthony turned back to J.T. and told him that if Lucky did not become addicted again, Lucky would have to be handled. J.T. said that he did not want to go back to Pentonville and would not kill a cop. Anthony said that there was more than one way to waste a cop.

Siobhan caught Lucky going through her purse and thought that he was looking for money to buy drugs. Lucky said that he had made a buy the previous evening, but had not gotten a sufficient quantity to tell whether or not they had been stolen from GH. He said that he would need a lot more money that Siobhan could provide. Siobhan wanted to know what Lucky was doing in her purse. He said that he had picked up the mail and found her new debit card in the name of "Siobhan Spencer." Lucky said that he had wanted to surprise her with it.

Siobhan worried that their marriage had been a mistake. Siobhan said that Lucky was no longer the man she first knew. Siobhan said that Lucky was showing all the signs of being an addict. Siobhan asked Lucky why he kept torturing himself by keeping drugs around. Lucky asked why Siobhan could not have any faith in him like Elizabeth did. Siobhan said that Elizabeth was a liar who would say anything to hang on to Lucky.

Lucky asked Siobhan why she was still there if she though Lucky's ex was a liar and Lucky was a pathetic junkie. Siobhan said that Lucky had claimed that he wanted her, and she had believed him. Lucky got a phone call from Elizabeth, who said she had a lead in the drug case. Lucky quickly got off the phone. Lucky told Siobhan that he had to go to work. As he left, Lucky told Siobhan to enjoy the debit card. After the door closed, Siobhan broke down in tears.

Lucky caught up with Elizabeth at GH. She told him what she had found out. Elizabeth thought that the orderly that she had confronted appeared suspicious. Lucky was grateful for Elizabeth's help but told her she was getting too involved and might get hurt. Lucky said that he could not stand to lose another person he cared for. Elizabeth said that no matter what, everything always led back to the empty place where their little boy had once been. Elizabeth and Lucky embraced as Siobhan watched from hiding. Siobhan left before Lucky or Elizabeth saw her.

Elizabeth said that she wanted to support Lucky like he had supported her. Elizabeth reaffirmed that she trusted Lucky not to fall prey to drugs again. Lucky said that inside he was screaming for the pills, but that he would not give in because solving the case and helping others meant more to him that having the momentary relief that the pills could give him. When Lucky left Elizabeth, the man who had earlier unlocked the drug closet followed him.

Lucky was alone in an alley behind a warehouse when he called Siobhan to apologize for his earlier words and behavior. Lucky said that he was glad that Siobhan had stayed and that Lucky did want to find out what they could have together. Lucky said that a storm was coming. Lucky told Siobhan that all he wanted to do was lock the doors, turn the music up loud, and dance in the rain with her. Lucky told Siobhan that he would be home soon.

J.T. found the pill bottle that Lucky had dropped. J.T. wanted to know why Lucky had not sampled the product. Lucky said he was on duty and had not had time. J.T. pointed out that being on duty had never stopped Lucky before. J.T. said that one way or another, Lucky would fly. J.T. called out, and two strong, burly guys grabbed Lucky and held him down. As Lucky screamed "No," J.T. pulled out a syringe and injected its contents into Lucky's arm. J.T. was laughing as he walked away from Lucky. Siobhan had a headache and a nosebleed when she returned to the apartment that she shared with Lucky.

8/1 Ethan went looking for Lucky and found the apartment door open. Once inside, he found a trail of blood. As he followed it, Siobhan was startled when she left the bathroom and ran into Ethan. Ethan said that he was worried that the blood was Lucky’s. Siobhan said it was nothing serious, just a nosebleed that she sometimes got in the heat.

Ethan asked if she had seen Lucky. Siobhan told him about the fight that Siobhan had had with Lucky. Siobhan said that she had caught Lucky going through her purse and accused him of searching for drug money. Lucky had said that he had intended to surprise her with a new debit card in the name of "Siobhan Spencer." Siobhan said that Lucky had received a call and said that he had to go to work. Siobhan said that she had followed Lucky, and he had gone to see Elizabeth at GH.

When Ethan asked about Lucky's sobriety, Siobhan said that Lucky seemed sober, and as far as she could tell, Lucky had not taken any pills. Ethan said that Lucky wanted temptation in his path because some parts of Lucky's psyche thought that he deserved to be hurt. Siobhan said that she should have had more faith in Lucky and that she did not want to drive him further away. Ethan said that Siobhan could not ignore what was in front of her. Ethan left after getting a promise from Siobhan to call if she heard from Lucky.

After Ethan was gone, Siobhan listened to her messages and heard Lucky's heartfelt and sincere apologies. Lucky told her that he did want to explore the possibilities with her. Lucky told Siobhan that a storm was coming, and all he wanted to do was turn up the music and dance in the rain with her. Siobhan's eyes held tears, but her lips held a smile.

Elizabeth was at Kelly's, having coffee. She left a message on Lucky's phone, asking him to call her. Matt entered and asked if Elizabeth had seen Maxie. Elizabeth spat out that she was not Maxie's social secretary. Matt said that Maxie was obsessed with getting Spinelli back. Matt worried that Maxie would get in trouble.

Elizabeth said that Maxie's problems were exaggerated to gain attention, unlike other people who had real problems. Matt pointed out that Maxie had kept Elizabeth's secret about Aiden's paternity. Elizabeth launched into Maxie's history with Lucky. Elizabeth even told him about the pregnancy that Maxie had faked. Matt said that Maxie had told him everything.

Matt gently suggested that Maxie's history with Lucky was no different that the torch that Elizabeth was carrying for Lucky. Elizabeth said that the situation was entirely different because she and Lucky were lifelong friends, and Lucky's marriage was just one of convenience. Matt continued to defend Maxie but was very charming to Elizabeth as well. When he left, Elizabeth commented that she hoped Maxie appreciated Matt.

Lucky was lying immobilized in an alley as J.T. looked on. J.T. said that he had shot Lucky up with a little bit of heaven that would turn into hell if Lucky fought against the drug. J.T. then forced more pills down Lucky's throat. J.T. told Lucky that he was going to fly. J.T. said that Lucky could not call the cops because he had drugs in his system. J.T. walked away, and Lucky began to hallucinate.

Lucky's first hallucination was of Ethan who said that Lucky would want more drugs and that Lucky's children would pay for it. Next Lucky saw Maxie, who fed him more pills and said that she missed him. As pills fell around Lucky like rain, Maxie said that pleasure had a price, and Lucky would "pay, pay, pay." J.T. appeared after Maxie. He tormented Lucky and said that Lucky had fallen through a crack and would not be back. Lucky was seeing double images and desperately trying to remove a shoe. Lucky finally succeeded, but collapsed after the effort.

Lucky tried to sit up. When he did, Lucky saw Jake riding toward him on a tricycle. Lucky heard Jason's voice say that he had given his son to Lucky because Lucky had promised to keep Jake safe. Lucky groaned and panted before Siobhan popped into view. Siobhan told Lucky that she had used her new debit card to purchase a ticket. Siobhan said that Elizabeth had taken Siobhan's place with Lucky and that Elizabeth was the most dangerous drug of all.

Siobhan's image started to waver. Lucky could see both Siobhan and Elizabeth talking in unison saying that they needed him and that he had rescued them. The real Elizabeth found Lucky moaning in the alley. Elizabeth tried to comfort Lucky as he freaked out about his shoe.

8/2 J.T., the drug dealer, went to the Zacchara penthouse to report to Anthony. J.T. handed Anthony a small leather container, filled with drug paraphernalia, and then revealed that Lucky had been shot up with the "good stuff." According to J.T., Lucky had been surprisingly resistant to taking drugs, despite being an ex-addict, so it had been more challenging than anticipated to inject Lucky with the drugs.

Anthony wondered if Lucky had been injured, but J.T. assured Anthony that they hadn't left a bruise or scratch on Lucky, except for the needle mark. J.T. was confident that it would appear that Lucky had injected himself with the drug. Anthony was supremely satisfied with how things had turned out, so J.T. asked Anthony for the payment. Anthony groused that J.T. would get paid when the job was done, but J.T. insisted that he needed incentive. Anthony flashed J.T. a devious smile, retrieved the rubber tie from the drug kit, kicked J.T. in the knee, and then strangled him with the rubber tie. Johnny entered the penthouse moments later. Johnny took one look at J.T. struggling for his life, and then demanded to know what was going on.

In an alley on the waterfront, Elizabeth desperately tried to help Lucky, who was in the grips of drug-induced hallucinations. Elizabeth made an attempt to ascertain what Lucky had taken, but Lucky was unable to give her a coherent answer. Elizabeth wanted to take Lucky to the hospital for treatment, but Lucky argued, "No. No, I have you," during a lucid moment. Elizabeth looked around, and then checked Lucky's arms, as she searched for clues as to what had happened. Her heart sank when she spotted the needle mark on his arm.

Elizabeth realized that someone had injected Lucky with drugs. She offered to take Lucky to her house and then call the police, but Lucky became agitated, so she suggested calling Siobhan. Lucky panicked and then begged Elizabeth for help. Elizabeth attempted to sooth Lucky as he began to frantically scratch his arms because he felt like as if things were crawling all over him. Lucky wailed that he was following in his father's footsteps as Elizabeth tried to comfort him. She tearfully explained that Lucky needed more help than she could give him, but Lucky insisted that he only trusted her.

Elizabeth was startled when Dante suddenly appeared in the alleyway. She quickly explained that Lucky had been injected with drugs, in an attempt to make it appear that Lucky had relapsed. Dante offered to stay with Lucky while Elizabeth went to the hospital to fetch something that would counter the drug that Lucky had been injected with.

After Elizabeth left, Dante took a call from Ronnie to assure Ronnie that everything was okay. Fearing that Dante intended to turn him in, Lucky grabbed something, knocked Dante out, and then fled into the night. Later, Elizabeth returned to the alley and found Dante on the ground. Elsewhere, Lucky teetered on the brink of a pier as he gazed out over the water with an expression of utter despair. The episode featured a music montage to “Dreaming With A Broken Heart” by John Mayer.

8/4 At the apartment, Siobhan was disappointed when she reached Lucky's voicemail. She confessed that she hoped that he was busy working, and not in trouble. Siobhan apologized for being a nag since Lucky had agreed to investigate the drug theft at the hospital, and then assured him that she believed in him, his strength, and his ability to do his job. She admitted that she couldn't bear the thought of losing him because he meant everything to her. Siobhan asked him to call her when he received the message and then ended the call.

At the hospital, Elizabeth slipped out of the supply closet, clutching a paper bag. Dante called out to Elizabeth, and then wondered if she had heard from Lucky. Elizabeth shook her head and then admitted that she doubted that Lucky had gone home to Siobhan because Siobhan would assume the worst.

Dante agreed that Lucky would be too paranoid to turn to Siobhan, so he suggested that they call the police to help find Lucky. Elizabeth pleaded with Dante to reconsider because everyone would think that Lucky had slipped and then label him an addict. Elizabeth refused to give up on Lucky, so Dante assured her that he hadn't given up on Lucky either.

However, Dante was desperate to save Lucky's life, so he feared that Lucky might be harmed if he weren't found soon. Elizabeth warned Dante that if they involved the police then they would be playing right into the hands of the men who had injected Lucky with the drugs. Elizabeth suspected that Lucky had been targeted because Lucky had gotten too close to the drug ring, so she didn't want him to lose his badge because of what had happened.

Dante reminded her that they could back up Lucky's story, but Elizabeth pointed out that Dante had doubts about Lucky. Elizabeth suggested that if Lucky's close friend wasn't fully convinced of the story then Mac and Internal Affairs were less likely to believe that Lucky had been shot up full of drugs against his will. Elizabeth begged Dante to give her a few hours to find Lucky.

Dante noticed the bag, so he asked her if she had taken drugs from the supply closet. Elizabeth readily admitted that she had, so Dante reminded her that she could get in trouble. "Then arrest me," Elizabeth defiantly replied. Dante assured her that he would pretend that she had received a requisition for the drugs. They made arrangements to stay in touch and then went their separate ways to search for Lucky.

In the alley behind Luzetta's Bakery, Anthony played with the rubber tie from the drug paraphernalia kit until J.T. walked up. J.T. chuckled when he realized that they were standing behind the bakery that the "weird private eye" had been staking about because he believed that drugs were being smuggled in the pastries. Anthony revealed that he was about to do what he did best. "Take advantage of the situation," Anthony clarified.

Anthony explained that thanks to Spinelli, who worked for Jason Morgan, Luzetta's would be the last place anyone would suspect when Anthony actually started moving drugs through there. "Flipping the script," J.T. replied with admiration. Anthony bragged that with Lucky removed from circulation, there wouldn't be any potential roadblocks. Siobhan approached the alley and then froze in her tracks when she overheard their conversation.

J.T. chuckled as he talked about Lucky's "strange trip," and Anthony insist that Lucky needed to stay on a "vacation high from reality," so that they could set everything set up. Anthony and J.T. continued to discuss their plans in detail, including how they anticipated that no one would believe Spinelli if Spinelli were to see something. J.T. was curious what they would do if Lucky were to cause problems, so Anthony explained that if Lucky weren't discredited then they would have to dispose of Lucky. J.T. and Anthony heard Siobhan gasp, so Anthony sent J.T. on his way and then pulled out the rubber tie.

Anthony was about to confront Siobhan when he heard Elizabeth approaching. Anthony ducked behind some dumpsters as Elizabeth entered the alley while talking on the phone with Dante. Dante had received word that a signal from Lucky's cell phone had been picked up. Elizabeth explained that she was two blocks away from the warehouse where Lucky's cell phone appeared to be, so she would investigate.

Elizabeth thought that it would be best if she were to approach Lucky alone because of the state that Lucky was in. Dante agreed, but he asked her to call him when she found Lucky. Siobhan stepped out of the shadows as Elizabeth passed by and then followed her. Anthony smiled diabolically as he followed Siobhan.

Later, Elizabeth found Lucky's cell phone, but Lucky was nowhere in sight. Elizabeth checked in with Dante, who insisted on calling the police, but Elizabeth implored him to give her another hour to find Lucky. After Elizabeth ended the call, Lucky's cell phone rang. She looked at it until Siobhan ordered Elizabeth to answer it, so that Elizabeth could tell Siobhan "where the hell my husband is."

Lucky was dripping wet as he staggered into a church that appeared to be under construction. He looked around in confusion until he heard a noise. "Elizabeth?" he called out.

8/5 As a storm began, Lucky stumbled into the abandoned church where he and Elizabeth had exchanged wedding vows as teenagers. The lightning frightened him, and he hid in a corner. Lucky hallucinated Elizabeth in a white dress with white flowers in her hair. At the same time, he saw their teenage wedding in flashback.

Lucky talked to the hallucination, which talked back to him. The hallucination reminded him of their vows of love and said that her love had never changed. Lucky said that Elizabeth was the one who had walked away. The hallucination asked Lucky not to give up on them because they had a permanent lock. Lucky said that he and Elizabeth had done terrible things to each other and hurt each other badly. Lucky said that they might have a permanent lock, but they did not know how to make their relationship work. Lucky asked the hallucination to make him believe, but when he reached for her hand he pulled a white cloth off a tall candleholder. Lucky called out for Elizabeth, and then passed out on the floor.

Siobhan confronted Elizabeth on a second-floor landing. Elizabeth had Lucky's phone, and Siobhan wanted to know why. Siobhan grabbed Elizabeth's purse and found Lucky's shoes along with the drugs that Elizabeth had taken from GH to counteract the drugs that had been forced on Lucky. Siobhan jumped to the worst possible conclusion and accused Elizabeth of stealing drugs from the hospital to keep Lucky dependent on Elizabeth. Elizabeth tried to explain, but Siobhan would not listen and threatened to go to the hospital board and get Elizabeth fired.

Elizabeth finally told Siobhan that someone shot Lucky up to make it look like he was using. Siobhan said that either way, Elizabeth got what she wanted. She got to save Lucky. Elizabeth said that it was not about Elizabeth, it was about the father of her kids. Siobhan said that Elizabeth was using her kids as an excuse. Siobhan said that she was not buying it. Siobhan accused Elizabeth of knowing where Lucky was and not admitting it. Elizabeth screamed that she did not know where Lucky was. Siobhan said that they could look for him together.

As they started down the stairs, Siobhan experienced a headache. When Elizabeth tried to help, Siobhan got angry and wanted to know why Elizabeth had not called as soon as she had known that Lucky had been drugged. Elizabeth said it was because Lucky had asked her not to call Siobhan. Siobhan got livid and said she was going to tell the hospital and the police. Siobhan tried to take Elizabeth's purse, which held the drugs and Lucky's shoes. In the ensuing struggle Siobhan fell down the stairs. Elizabeth was frantic when she saw Siobhan lying at the bottom of the stairs. Elizabeth said that Siobhan's injuries were serious, and Siobhan needed immediate medical attention. Siobhan was barely conscious as Elizabeth helped her to the car.

8/8 A violent storm hit Port Charles, causing brownouts and poor driving conditions.Elizabeth was driving Siobhan to GH when Siobhan muttered that Elizabeth had tried to kill her, and then passed out. Elizabeth tried to revive Siobhan and took her eyes off the road. Elizabeth's car crashed into a car carrying Jason and Carly. Elizabeth was the first to recover. Siobhan was not in the car.

As the rain poured down, Elizabeth found Jason passed out in the driver's seat. Jason was unconscious and had a bleeding cut on his left temple. Elizabeth found Carly nearby. Carly quickly regained consciousness. Carly had a broken wrist and a possible concussion. Elizabeth told her not to move. Elizabeth found an unresponsive Siobhan just as Dante pulled up. Elizabeth had not been able to get 9-1-1 because the cell towers were down in the storm. Dante used his police radio to get help.

When the ambulances arrived, Elizabeth wanted to go look for Lucky. Dante said that she was in shock and had to go to the hospital before she could search for Lucky. Dante said that he would help her after a doctor checked her out. Carly grabbed Dante and told him to call and tell Olivia to meet Carly at the hospital.

Steve took Siobhan's vitals as she was wheeled to a treatment bay. Steve told Elizabeth that Siobhan was in critical condition. When Steve asked Elizabeth what had happened, Elizabeth said that Siobhan had fallen down the stairs, but would tell everyone that Elizabeth had tried to kill her.

8/9 At the hospital, Matt gave a nurse last-minute instructions in preparation of Siobhan's surgery. Elizabeth approached Matt for an update on Siobhan's condition. Matt suggested that Siobhan's family should be notified, so Elizabeth offered to have Epiphany contact Siobhan's relatives in Ireland. Matt clarified that he had meant Lucky.

Matt then questioned Elizabeth about Siobhan's injuries. Elizabeth explained that Siobhan had been ejected from the car during the crash, but Matt wondered if anything else had happened. Elizabeth reluctantly admitted that Siobhan had taken a spill down a flight of stairs, but she refused to share the details about what had led to it.

Steve walked up and then reminded Matt that Matt needed to focus on saving Siobhan, not questioning Elizabeth. After Matt left, Steve demanded to know exactly what had happened to Siobhan. Elizabeth resented Steve's accusatory tone, but Steve reminded Elizabeth that she had confided to him that she had been afraid that Siobhan would accuse her of trying to kill Siobhan.

Elizabeth assured her brother that it had been an accident, but she also made it clear that she didn't want to discuss what had happened. Elizabeth immediately clamed up when Steve asked where Lucky was. Steve warned Elizabeth that it looked bad for Elizabeth because of recent events, so Elizabeth would have to get her story straight because it would be Elizabeth's word against Siobhan's.

Dante found Elizabeth pacing in the hallway. Elizabeth admitted that it would be her fault if Siobhan died. Dante advised Elizabeth, as a friend, to stop saying things like that because people might begin to believe her. Elizabeth reminded him of the drugs that she had stolen, so Dante reminded her that they had been requisitioned. Elizabeth's weak smile disappeared as she implored Dante to keep his word about not telling anyone about Lucky.

Dante thought that they should deal with more pressing matters first. He instructed Elizabeth to keep it simple if anyone questioned her about what had happened to Siobhan. Dante suggested that Elizabeth admit that she and Siobhan had argued, but to keep the details to a minimum without being evasive. Dante also advised Elizabeth to remain consistent about her story.

Elizabeth wondered if Dante thought that she had pushed Siobhan down the stairs. Dante assured Elizabeth that accidents happened. Elizabeth relaxed as she confessed that her misery had begun before Siobhan had arrived in Port Charles. She revealed that Lucky had been planning to buy a plot of land in the woods, build a house, and marry Elizabeth, but all the while, Elizabeth had been sleeping with Nikolas.

Elizabeth explained that Lucky had accepted a job with Interpol to get away from her, but Dante argued that Lucky had been strong-armed into accepting the assignment, so it hadn't been about Elizabeth. Elizabeth thought that everything could have been avoided, including Siobhan's injuries, if she had made things work with Lucky, when they had planned to build their dream house. Dante suggested that thinking like that didn't helping anyone. According to Dante, Elizabeth's affair had been a mistake, but everyone made mistakes. Elizabeth warned Dante that some mistakes cost more than others did.

Later, Dante hoped it was a good sign that no one had left the operating room, so Elizabeth suggested that Siobhan might have stabilized. Elizabeth panicked when Dante suggested that it was time to call the police to help find Lucky. Elizabeth reminded Dante that Internal Affairs would likely fire Lucky, so she begged Dante to give her more time. As they talked, Elizabeth realized that she might know where Lucky had gone, so she dashed off with a promise to call Dante as soon as she located Lucky.

8/10 Lucky woke up in a church that appeared to be under construction. He called out for Elizabeth, but she didn't reply. He glanced around nervously until he suddenly felt Elizabeth's hand cover his. An image of Elizabeth briefly appeared and then faded, so Lucky pulled a sheet off of one of the pews and then wrapped it around himself for warmth. Moments later, Lucky had a flashback of him and Elizabeth as teenagers, squirting each other with the sprayer from the kitchen sink.

After the memory drifted away, Lucky crawled around on the floor until he found a candle and matches. Lucky lit the candle and then curled up into a ball to sleep. He dreamed of the night that he had fallen asleep in his apartment, shortly before Helena had burned it to the ground. A short time later, Elizabeth entered the church.

8/12 Elizabeth found Lucky passed out in the abandoned church where they had taken vows as teens. Elizabeth gave Lucky a shot to overcome the drugs in his system. Lucky awoke briefly to say that he was glad that Elizabeth was there. She lay down beside him and held him as he slept. When Lucky awoke, he was clear-headed again. He told Elizabeth that it was dangerous for her to be with him, but Elizabeth said that she wanted to be there to help him because of all the times he had helped her.

Elizabeth said that whoever had drugged Lucky wanted him dead. Lucky said that they had wound him up and sent him off so that he would fall off a pier or walk into traffic. Lucky said that he did not remember getting to the church. He said that when he was with Elizabeth, he felt like he was home. Lucky told Elizabeth that he had hallucinations in the alley. He told her about seeing Jake. Elizabeth said that she saw Jake all the time.

Lucky said that Jake looked scared and it was like losing him all over again. Elizabeth told Lucky that she believed him when he said that he did not want to use drugs, but had been held down and forced. Lucky said it was dangerous for Elizabeth to help him. Elizabeth said she wanted to pay him back. When Elizabeth went to the car, Lucky found his phone and heard Siobhan's message telling him that she believed in him.

At General Hospital, Matt checked in on Siobhan while an interested janitor swept outside the room. Matt told Siobhan that he was joining her for lunch. Matt's conversation changed from complaints about the hospital's tuna sandwiches to his argument with Patrick about the need for immediate surgery on Jason.

Anthony met with JT, and Darryl, the janitor who had been outside Siobhan's room at GH. When Anthony asked JT what had happened to Lucky, JT said that Lucky had been shot up and allowed to wander off. Both JT and Anthony speculated that Lucky had met with a tragic accident. Darryl wanted to know why he was watching Siobhan.

Anthony said that Siobhan might have overheard his plans to move drugs through the bakery, but that Elizabeth had met up with Siobhan before Anthony had gotten a chance to question the Irish miss. JT asked what they would do about Siobhan. Anthony said they would wait to see what happened. Anthony said that when the time was right, they would strike. At GH, a technician checked Siobhan's vitals while Darryl lurked nearby.

8/16 At the hospital, Darryl, the janitor on Anthony's payroll, had slipped into Siobhan's room. Darryl's deadly intentions were foiled when Ethan suddenly appeared in the doorway. "Hey, what are you doing?" Ethan demanded. Darryl claimed that he had been about to clean up a spill near Siobhan's bed, but Ethan appeared skeptical. Ethan insisted that Darryl shouldn't be touching the machines. Darryl assured Ethan that he knew that and then quickly scurried out of the room.

At the old church, Lucky stumbled around as he tried to get a signal on his cell phone, to no avail. Elizabeth was alarmed when she walked in and found Lucky moving around instead of resting. Lucky assured Elizabeth that the medication that she had given him to counter the effects of the drugs that he'd been injected with had worked. He then explained that he needed to get in touch with Siobhan because he feared that she might be worried. Elizabeth insisted that Lucky take a seat, and then told him about the car accident. Elizabeth admitted that Siobhan had been badly hurt, but she assured Lucky that his wife was alive.

Lucky wondered if Elizabeth were certain about the car accident, so Elizabeth revealed that she had been with Siobhan at the time of the accident. Lucky anxiously looked for any signs of injury, but Elizabeth assured him that she had escaped without harm. Lucky sensed that Elizabeth was holding something back, so Elizabeth reluctantly told him about everything that had transpired after she had found Lucky high on drugs on the waterfront, including the attack on Dante, and Elizabeth's altercation with Siobhan. Elizabeth assured Lucky that Siobhan's fall down the staircase had been an accident. Lucky was determined to get to the hospital to see Siobhan, so Elizabeth followed him out of the church.

At the hospital, Lulu was trying to find out which room Siobhan was in when Lucky and Elizabeth arrived. Lulu scolded Lucky for dropping out of sight, but Lucky made it clear that he wasn't in the mood to hear a lecture from Lulu. Elizabeth explained that Lucky had been on a stakeout, but that raised questions with Lulu because Lulu was curious how Elizabeth had known how to get in touch with Lucky when no one else had been able to.

Lucky ignored Lulu's questions by demanding that a nurse update him on Siobhan's condition. Lulu sensed that something was off with Lucky, so he reminded her that he had just learned that his wife had been admitted to the hospital. Lucky was curious how Lulu expected him to act. Lulu admitted that if she hadn't known better, she would suspect that Lucky was on something. Elizabeth suggested that Lucky go to visit Siobhan, while Elizabeth stayed behind to answer Lulu's questions.

Lulu quickly assured Lucky and Elizabeth that it wasn't necessary because Lulu realized that she had been insensitive. However, Lulu was concerned because Lucky seemed "strung out." Elizabeth assured Lulu that Lucky was fine, but Lulu wondered why it was any of Elizabeth's business. Elizabeth explained that she was just being a supportive friend to Lucky, but Lulu argued that Elizabeth was enabling Lucky.

Lucky grew weary of Lulu's suspicions, so he informed her that he looked the way that he did because he had been trying to blend in during the investigation. He made it clear that he might look the part, but he was not using drugs. Lucky then told his sister that just because Lulu had failed to find Luke, didn't mean that she should look for their father in Lucky. Lucky insisted that he wasn't Luke, and never would be. After Lucky stormed off, Lulu sought out Ethan.

Lulu was curious what Ethan thought about Lucky's condition. Ethan confessed that it looked as if Lucky had been on a "bender," but Ethan wasn't convinced that Lucky had relapsed. Lulu claimed that Elizabeth had been covering for Lucky, and that it was curious that Elizabeth had known where to find Lucky. They both looked up when they saw Elizabeth approach the doorway to Siobhan's room and then stop to watch as Lucky sat at his wife's bedside.

8/17 At the hospital, Lucky sat at Siobhan's bedside as he talked to her about her Irish superstitions, and insisted that he could see her future. He promised her that they would have time to figure out their relationship. Moments later, Lulu walked in, and then immediately questioned Lucky about the stakeout. Lucky assured Lulu that he had rushed to Siobhan's side as quickly as he could, but Lulu wondered if it had been Elizabeth's idea to stay glued to Lucky's side. Lucky explained that Elizabeth had been helping him, but Lulu appeared to have doubts. Lulu reminded Lucky that he had been dealing with Jake's death, Luke's disappearance, Siobhan's health crisis, and the investigation.

Lucky assured Lulu that the doctor was confident that Siobhan would wake up soon. Lulu suggested that Lucky should focus on Siobhan rather than the investigation, but Lucky saw through her ploy. He accused Lulu of being worried about his close proximity to the drugs during the investigation. Lulu argued that police work was stressful, so Lucky informed her that lecturing him didn't help.

Lulu pleaded with Lucky to consider taking a leave of absence until Siobhan had recovered. Lucky resented that Lulu saw him as a substitute for Luke, whom she had failed to save, so he ordered her to leave. After Lulu left, Lucky admitted to Siobhan that he had been harsh on Lulu, and that Lulu had been right to be concerned about his sobriety.

Lucky admitted that the stuff that the drug dealer had pumped into his system had been calling for "company," but Lucky vowed not to give in to the craving. He realized that Siobhan had doubts about his ability to withstand the lure of the drugs, but he was determined to prove himself to her. Moments later, Steve checked in to see how Lucky was holding up. Lucky confessed that he couldn't believe that Siobhan was in the hospital again because of him.

Lucky was startled when Steve suggested that Elizabeth might have been responsible for Siobhan's condition because things had gotten out of hand between the women. Lucky was confident that Siobhan would wake up, and confirm that the fall had been an accident, but Steve feared that Siobhan might never wake up.

Lucky was taken aback by the remark. Lucky told Steve about how Lucky had met Siobhan in Ireland, so he couldn't imagine Siobhan not waking up. Steve admitted that he had been out of line, so he assured Lucky that Siobhan's vitals were strong, and that Matt was an excellent surgeon. Steve confessed that they had every reason to be optimistic about Siobhan's recovery.

Lucky was frustrated because he wanted to do something to help his wife, so Steve advised Lucky to talk to Siobhan, so she had a reason to wake up. After Steve left, Lucky revealed that he had no idea why he had kept shutting her out, and running away when he had asked her to remain in the country with him. He acknowledged that she had warned him not to take on the investigation, which had resulted in him getting shot up with drugs, so he conceded that it was a "big mess."

Lucky explained that J.T., and whoever had hired the drug dealer, were the ones who had put everything into motion, so the only way that Lucky could make amends was to stop them. Lucky insisted that he needed to do that, so he kissed Siobhan's hand, and then promised to see her soon. Moments after Lucky left, Siobhan opened her eyes and then looked around.

At a restaurant, Anthony called one of his minions to order him to keep an eye on Siobhan because Anthony wasn't sure how much she had overheard about his plans for the bakery. Anthony made it clear that Siobhan was to be killed if she knew too much.

Moments later, Skye arrived. Anthony confessed that Skye looked "delicious," but he was disappointed that she hadn't worn the gift that he had sent to her. He wondered if she had pawned it. "Not yet," Skye confessed. However, she made it clear that she would sell the expensive piece of jewelry if it became necessary because she was low on cash.

Skye wanted to know when she would get paid, but Anthony insisted that she wouldn't get a penny until the job was done. Skye explained that she had a few more arrangements to finalize, but Anthony needed reassurances, not vague promises. Skye insisted that he would get all that he needed to make Tracy "squirm," but she made it clear that Edward was off-limits. Skye warned Anthony that she would walk away from their deal if Anthony didn't agree to her terms. Skye grimaced as Anthony took her hand, confessed that it had been a pleasure doing business with her, and then kissed it.

8/18 Darryl, the janitor, slipped into Siobhan's hospital room as she groggily called out for Lucky. Darryl welcomed her back to the land of the living, so Siobhan asked where she was. Darryl explained that she was in the hospital because she had been involved in a car accident. As Darryl spoke to Siobhan, he checked the machines and then started to fiddle with her I.V. He assured her not to worry, and then promised her that he would make everything better.

Seconds later, Ethan entered the room. "Can I help you?" Ethan asked. Darryl assured Ethan that he was there to help, but Ethan was suspicious because it had been the second time that he had found Darryl in Siobhan's room. Darryl claimed that he had simply tried to offer comfort when he had noticed that Siobhan's eyes were open as he passed her room.

After Darryl left, Ethan asked Siobhan what she remembered about the accident. Siobhan had brief flashes of the night of the accident, including Lucky leaving their apartment, the nosebleed, and her argument with Elizabeth on the waterfront.

Later, Matt checked on Siobhan. He assured Ethan that it was normal for Siobhan to be a bit disoriented because she was in tremendous pain. Matt admitted that it was a miracle that Elizabeth had escaped the accident without injury, but he credited Elizabeth for keeping Siobhan stabilized until the ambulance had arrived. Ethan was curious if Siobhan were okay, so Matt explained that they had to run some tests, but he was confident that she would recover.

Matt then questioned Siobhan about the accident, but her memories remained disjointed. She kept mentioning the staircase, which baffled Matt and Ethan because they believed that Siobhan had sustained her injuries in a car accident. Siobhan recalled her argument with Elizabeth on the top of the staircase, and then the fall, but she seemed confused about when it had happened. Matt advised Siobhan not to push herself because she needed to rest.

A short time later, Matt returned to check on Siobhan. Siobhan explained that she couldn't sleep because too much was going on inside her head. Matt offered to give her some medication, but Siobhan refused. She wanted to talk to Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, Darryl updated Anthony. Darryl admitted that he had been about to kill Siobhan when Lucky's brother had entered the room. Anthony was annoyed that Darryl hadn't been able to follow instructions, but Darryl insisted that he couldn't have killed Siobhan with a witness present. Darryl was startled when Anthony suddenly produced a knife. Darryl promised to finish the job, but Anthony decided that he couldn't send a boy to do a man's work. Anthony slid the knife across his palm, slicing it open, as he laughed diabolically.

At the hospital, Elizabeth pulled Matt towards the supply closet. Matt thought that Elizabeth wanted to have a tryst with him, but she quickly clarified that she wanted him to test a bottle of medication. Matt noticed that the bottle that she had handed to him contained hydrocodone. He was curious what she was doing with it, so Elizabeth replied, "Research."

Matt reminded her that hydrocodone was addictive. Elizabeth was taken aback at Matt's implication that she might be an addict, so he quickly assured her that the thought hadn't crossed his mind. Elizabeth revealed that she needed him to find out the potency of the pills. She had intended to do it herself, but she couldn't enter the lab because Robin's new security measures had made it impossible.

Matt was flattered when Elizabeth admitted that she trusted Matt to be discreet, so she wanted him to use his access to the labs to test the pills. Matt reminded her that the lab technicians were very territorial, so it wouldn't be easy for him to get into the lab. He wanted to know what was going on, since his career might be on the line if he were caught doing something that he shouldn't. Elizabeth explained that it was confidential, so she took the bottle of pills back.

Matt snatched the bottle out of her hand, assured her that he would take care of it, and then left. A short time later, Matt managed to slip into the lab when the lab tech left for a break. After testing the pills, Matt pulled Elizabeth away from the nurses' station to reveal that the pills had been mislabeled; the dosage of the pills was lower than the label had claimed. Elizabeth felt vindicated, so Matt was curious why she hadn't reported it. He reminded her that she could lose her job, but Elizabeth revealed that it was complicated, so she wanted him to trust her.

Later, Lucky arrived at the hospital. He wondered if Siobhan were awake, so Elizabeth apologized for not leaving a clearer message. She explained that she had a patient who had complained that the pain medication hadn't been working, so Elizabeth had gotten it tested. The test had revealed that the medication had been passed off as twice as strong as it actually was.

Lucky warned Elizabeth that it was too risky for her to be involved, and that she could get into trouble. He assured her that she didn't have anything to prove because he didn't blame her for what had happened. Lucky insisted that it was his fault that Siobhan was in the hospital, but Elizabeth disagreed. Lucky didn't want Elizabeth to absolve him of wrongdoing because he had been the one to keep Siobhan in the country, and he had been the reason that Siobhan had been at the waterfront.

Elizabeth refused to let Lucky blame himself, but Lucky realized that she was concerned that he might start popping pills again. Lucky insisted that he needed to take down the people responsible for the drug ring, but Elizabeth feared for Lucky's safety. She urged him to consider stepping down from the case. Lucky wondered if she had doubts about him staying clean.

Elizabeth insisted that she didn't want to make things harder on him. Elizabeth warned Lucky that it would be more difficult to fight the lure of the drugs when he still had drugs in his system, but Lucky argued that the craving for drugs would always be a part of him. However, it helped him to know that people believed in him. Elizabeth promised Lucky that she would always believe in him. Matt saw Elizabeth hand the bottle of hydrocodone to Lucky as Lucky entered the elevator.

8/19 At General Hospital, Matt found Elizabeth and told her that Siobhan was conscious and asking for her. Matt wanted to know where Lucky was. Matt said he had seen Elizabeth with Lucky at the hospital. Matt told Elizabeth that she was taking some very big risks for Lucky. Matt warned that if anything went wrong, Elizabeth could lose her medical license.

Anthony entered GH with a bandaged hand. When Epiphany demanded to know what Anthony wanted, he said that he needed treatment for a horticultural mishap. Anthony claimed that he had cut his hand while pruning orchids. Epiphany gruffly told him to sit down.

Lucky confronted JT on the docks. Lucky wanted to know why JT had tried to kill him. JT said he had not been trying to kill Lucky. He said he had been trying to show Lucky a really good time by giving Lucky some of JT's best stuff. Lucky said that he was buzzing and needed some more of JT's product. JT said he felt like Lucky was setting him up for a bust.

JT searched Lucky for a wire and found the bottle of half-strength pills that Elizabeth had given Lucky at GH. JT thought that Lucky had found another supplier. JT said that he could not trust Lucky unless he took a pill. Lucky tried to make excuses, but finally took one of the low-dose pills.

JT said that Lucky looked distressed after taking a pill. Lucky said that JT knew how it was, love it, hate it, all at the same time. JT said he would love to trust Lucky, but Lucky's badge was in the way. Matt was in his scrubs when he happened on Lucky and JT. When he noticed JT holding the pills from GH, Matt chastised Lucky for giving the pills away. Matt was so convincing as Lucky's other supplier that JT left after telling Lucky that they would talk again.

Once alone, Lucky wanted to know how much Matt knew. Matt said he had seen Elizabeth give Lucky the pills, and he had been the one to test them. Matt wanted to know what the pills from GH had to do with Lucky's investigation, but Lucky refused to divulge any information. Matt warned Lucky to leave Elizabeth out of his undercover work. Matt warned that Elizabeth's career could be in serious jeopardy if she continued to abet Lucky. Lucky agreed. Matt told Lucky that Siobhan was awake. Matt added that Lucky would know that if he had bothered to stay at his wife's side.

Epiphany checked on Siobhan and gave Siobhan her personal belongings, including Siobhan's wedding ring. Siobhan was touched. Elizabeth entered Siobhan's room as Epiphany left. Elizabeth told Siobhan that Matt had done a very good job. Siobhan said that Elizabeth was probably wondering what Siobhan would tell the police. Elizabeth said, "The truth, hopefully."

Siobhan wanted to know about Lucky. Elizabeth told her what had happened. Siobhan thanked Elizabeth for being there for Lucky. Siobhan said the reality was that when Lucky needed help, he turned to Elizabeth. Siobhan said that she was tired. Siobhan told Elizabeth she remembered the argument they had had, but she did not remember anything that happened between the warehouse and GH. Elizabeth said that Siobhan would not let Elizabeth put a seatbelt on her.

Siobhan said that it would be comforting to believe that Elizabeth was evil. Elizabeth said that she would not deliberately hurt Siobhan. Siobhan said that she would like to call Elizabeth a liar, but Elizabeth had been the one who believed in Lucky and had saved him. Siobhan said that she needed to talk to Lucky because she might know some important information that could help his case. Siobhan asked Elizabeth to go find Lucky. Anthony was listening outside the door. After Elizabeth left Siobhan, Anthony entered the room and said, "What is it they say about the luck of the Irish? Today I'm thinking it's the Italians."

8/22 As Maxie and Lucky neared the bakery, they saw a baker pummeling Spinelli. Lucky stopped the man who stated that Spinelli had ripped open all the sacks of flour and sugar inside the bakery. Anthony taunted Siobhan as he disconnected her life support and closed the blinds. He told her that it was her last dance. Anthony said that she had a conflict of interest with him. Anthony said that Siobhan had overheard something in the alley that he did not want anyone to know. He figured she was clamoring for her cop husband to fill him in. Anthony told Siobhan that she had bad timing to be listening in that night and that it was obvious because of the situation she was in. Siobhan tried to reach the call button, but Anthony stopped her and told her unfortunately she was in the way.
