Johnny is questioned by the police as Jason waits outside. Detective
Harper and Lucky ask him why he would retaliate against Sonny and Jason
after Jason had his own attorney represent him the other day when he was
being questioned. Johnny doesn't answer his questions except to say that
he was at the hospital during the time that the shooting took place on the
pier. Jason watches Johnny through the window of the interrogation room
and wonders if Johnny is behind what happened. Trevor makes plans to set
up Lulu to die and make it look like Johnny was behind it. Sonny and Jason
talk about how they know that the Zacchara's were behind the latest
shipment disruption. They realize that Trevor was the one that
orchestrated the whole situation, but Johnny will not allow Trevor to use
him as a puppet. Jason asks how they should handle the situation. Sonny
gives him a list of the Zacchara's warehouses. He wants Johnny to think
they want peace. He wants to break Johnny free of Trevor. Sonny knows that
Johnny is a damaged kid, but they want to try and make a deal and give him
the benefit of the doubt.
Spinelli tells Jason that he suspects Cooper of being the text message
killer. There was a female soldier that was strangled near where Cooper
was stationed while in the military. Spinelli goes over the evidence that
he thinks points to, including Coop's Specal Forces training. Jason
is disturbed as he assumed the killer had a motive, if it is Cooper then
he is killing just to kill. Jason snoops around Coop's place. He hears
someone approaching, so he hides and pulls his gun out. It is
Spinelli looking for evidence that Coop is the text message killer.
Spinelli is worried that Jason will kill Coop. Jason says he will not act
without evidence. He sends Spinelli away and tells him to stay away from
Kelly's and Coop. Spinelli passes through the park and finds Georgie dead
on the steps with a phone cord wrapped around her neck. He calls the
police. Detective Harper arrives on the scene and questions Spinelli, who
saw nothing and provides no information.
Kate nears Sonny's table and stumbles just as Trevor's hired assassin
fires at Sonny. When Sonny leaps up to save Kate from falling, the
gunman's bullet misses the mark, instead hitting a glass on the table.
Jason arrives at Sonny's and finds him furious that someone tried to kill
him tonight and almost killed Kate. Sonny says he doesn't care whether
Johnny was behind it or if it was Trevor, he wants Johnny dead! Jason
wants to find out who is behind the attempted hit. Sonny doesn't care and
wants to make an example of Johnny and says to kill anyone who gets in the
way. Johnny and Lulu arrives outside of Sonny's and overhear him declaring
that Johnny will die that night. Jason tries to tell Sonny that
making a move against the Zacchara's is a bad idea right now. The police
are waiting for them to make a move. Sonny doesn't care. Johnny made a
mistake by setting up that sniper, and he won't let him make another
mistake. Johnny Zacchara will die tonight. If he doesn't take him out,
Sonny will. Outside, Lulu wants to go in and explain the situation to
Sonny to make him understand. Johnny tells her that he can handle Sonny on
his own and pulls his gun out. Lulu tells him he is insane. Sonny's house
is crawling with guards. If Johnny tries to kill Sonny at home, he will
never make it out of there. Lulu tries to get Johnny to let her handle the
situation. He tells her no thanks and leaves.
After Sonny leaves, Jason talks to Max about putting surveillance on
Johnny. They are interrupted when Spinelli barges in and tells Jason that
they need to talk now of something of dire consequences. He tells Jason
about Georgie being murdered. He wants Jason's help in getting Coop, if
he's the killer. Spinelli starts to drink as he talks about how he failed
Georgie. She was the one person in his life that thought he was special.
Jason tries to calm Spinelli down. Robin and Liz are talking about Nikolas
and his progress in Switzerland when Maxie arrives at the hospital. Mac
goes to get Dr. Winters, and Robin realizes the situation is not good.
Mac reveals through tears that Georgie was strangled. Robin hugs Mac who
is grieving deeply. Liz has Jason meet her in a room at the Metro
Court. He is worried about Jake, but she reassures him that everything is
fine with their son. With Emily's death, Liz has realized that you never
know how long anyone has left. She doesn't want to waste her time to be
with him. They kiss. She tells him that she asked him to meet her there as
she loves him and needed to be with him. They make love and admit that
they are in love and care deeply for each other. Even though they are each
free, they fear the repercussions, including the threat from the
Zaccharas, that might affect Jake's life if they go public with their
feelings. They decide that they can be together if they meet in secret.
They agree that it will be for the good of all if they keep their
relationship very private.
Christmas Eve is bittersweet in Port Charles. Jason arrives at Carly's
with presents. Carly comments on his hair cut. Jason is touched by the
present he receives from the boys. It is a photograph of them with
Elizabeth. In a montage, with Tony Geary singing, "I'll Be Home For
Christmas," Luke walks through a set of gates into the fog. Luke's
family comforts each other in the hospital waiting room. Carly, Jax,
Michael and Morgan are a typically happy family. Maxie hands Felicia a
present addressed to her from Georgie. Jason looks in from the outside as
Elizabeth and her sons hang stockings. Sonny goes upstairs alone and Kate
is also alone in her hotel room.
At Sonny's place, Jason is doing his best to calm Sonny down and get him
to think logically. Jason suggests to Sonny that his concern about Kate
has overcome his judgment. Sonny denies it, but does comply with Jason's
suggestion that instead of rushing out and killing Johnny Zacchara, that
they continue to study their options and allow for the fact that Trevor
might be manipulating the situation. Jason heads for Carly's place, but
not before Max tells Jason about the safe house he found for him. Jason
tells Max that only the two of them will know that this safe house exists.
When Jason arrives at Carly's home, she tells him that she is concerned
because Michael wants to be a mobster when he grows up. Jason assures her
that neither he nor Sonny want Carly's sons to have the life that Sonny
and Jason lead. Jason also tells Carly that he thinks Michael's feelings
will change, and that most likely he is seeking a way to feel less
helpless in the wake of Emily and Leticia's deaths. Aspiring to be a
mobster is a way to gain control Jason tells her.
After leaving Carly, Jason goes to the safe house. There is a knock on the
door. When he opens it, Elizabeth is there. He tells her he had to see
her. They embrace. He takes her in his arms and kisses her (great kiss).
Jason shows Elizabeth the safe house he and Max found. He tells her that
they can go there to be together and not worry about anyone seeing them
together and they will be safe there. He scoops her up and pulls her down
on the couch to sit on his lap. He tells her about the house and when he
mentions a large shower, she jokes, "Big enough for two?"
He tells her that night in the hotel was great but he didn't like worrying
about someone seeing them together. He tells her that he stopped by her
house on Christmas Eve. She is surprised that he didn't stop in. He tells
her he couldn't and reminds her that he is doing this to protect her and
Jake. But he does say he can't give up seeing her. He shows her the dinner
he picked up and they kiss as she tells him how nice this all is. Spinelli
calls him to tell him that the police are at their home questioning him
about Georgie's murder. Jason tells him not to say anything more to them
until he gets there. Jason regretfully tells Liz he has to go help
Spinelli as Lucky and Harper are hassling him.
Lucky and Detective Harper show Spinelli some unsent e-mails from Georgie
addressed to him. In the e-mails Georgie pours out her feelings for
Spinelli in them. Spinelli tells them he didn't realize the extent of her
feelings for him. They accuse him of killing Georgie because he tried to
return his feelings toward her and she changed her mind so he killed her.
Spinelli vehemently denies killing Georgie because she was a cherished
friend. Jason shows up and tells them to leave Spinelli alone after they
try to drag him back to the police station for more questioning. Jason
tells them that Spinelli was with him around the time of Georgie's murder
and that he was helping him look for the real killer. Lucky tells them to
stay out of the investigation and to tell them what they have found out
and asks them if they know who the killer is. Jason and Spinelli don't
tell them they suspect Cooper Barrett. Spinelli asks them if he can keep
the e-mails from Georgie. Harper tells him he can have them since they are
copies of the real e-mails anyway. Spinelli is very sad about finding out
that Georgie was falling in love with him and he didn't have a clue. He
tells Jason that he had a chance at having real love and may never have it
ever again. Jason tells him that he doesn't know that for sure. Jason
decides to go visit Emily's grave at the Quartermaine crypt. He thanks her
for her unconditional love and support as his sister.
Jason talks to Milo about getting information from their informants. He
wants to know every move that the Zacchara's make. Liz calls and Jason
tells her he misses her. They have to be especially careful right now.
Sonny is away and Jason is in charge. They can't get caught and let their
enemies use Liz or Jake to get to Jason. Sam interrupts and knocks on the
door. Sam demands to know if they are going to get involved in an all out
war with the Zacchara's. Jason tells her he can't reveal that information
to her. She wants to know if she needs to get her mom and sisters out of
town. Jason says that steps have been taken to protect them. Sam reminds
him that if Jason were able to protect everyone without any doubts, he
would be with Liz and Jake. Sam assumes that Kate left town in order to be
protected.
Liz shows up at Wyndemere. She was curious what the doctor's found. She
knows she should have called since she's not family anymore. Emily (only
Nikolas can hear her) says yes, she is still family. Lulu tells her that
she is still family. Stuff happens, things change, but not what the four
of them meant to each other. They had an amazing bond. Emily would have
wanted them to keep that. Nikolas tells her she doesn't know how right she
is, and he hugs Liz. Lucky tells Liz that Lulu is right. A lot has gone on
between them, but maybe they can get together for coffee and talk. Liz's
phone rings. She tells him she has a lot going on right now and she has to
take this phone call. She leaves and answers the phone. It's Jason. He
tells her about Sam showing up before so he had to cut her off. He wants
to meet with her now. Suddenly, Milo comes in and tells Jason that Johnny
Zacchara is making a move. Jason cuts his conversation with Liz short
again. Milo tells him that the information he received comes from a
reliable source. They can't figure out why Johnny would be meeting with a
known drug dealer. Jason says they will take care of it. He calls Liz back
and tells her they can't meet tonight. He hates the situation, but he
tells her that when the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve, they are
going to be together.
Elizabeth arrives at the safe house and finds canvas and paint that Jason
has left as a belated Christmas present for her. He calls her to let her
know that he has to go out of town and cannot join her. She is
disappointed, but tells him that they will have other opportunities to
share their love in the upcoming year. She begins to work on a painting,
but suddenly grabs her goat and leaves the safe house. Lucky and Elizabeth
have an uncomfortable conversation at the hospital when he questions her
whereabouts on New Year's Eve. She tells him that because she was not
needed at the hospital and the babysitter was paid, she decided to have a
little alone time before she went home. She asks how he spent his evening
and he tells her he was with Sam. They agree to put the past behind and
try to be friends.
Jason, Spinelli and Diane are in Sonny's office discussing Sonny's arrest
in New York on assault charges. Spinelli is trying to locate him. Diane
gets a letter telling her that she has been nominated for "Litigator
of the Year," and is ecstatic. She immediately forgets about Sonny'
problems and starts thinking about what to wear, when Ric walks in. He
tries to engage her in verbal sparring as he smirks about Sonny
incarceration, but she tells him she has a life that does not revolve
around Sonny, insults his tie and sails out of the coffee house. Rick
leaves also. Carly stops in and worries along with Jason about Sonny and
his claustrophobia. When Spinelli wants to hack further, Jason tells him
to forget it because he will find Sonny in his own way. Max worries about
a surprise health inspection, but Spinelli hacks into the County system
and gives the coffee house a good report. He crows about his superior
computer skills when a female health inspector walks in and arrests him
for his various crimes. Diane arrives back from shopping in the nick of
time. She depicts Spinelli as a troubled loser, who acted without
authority and would be a burden on the system if arrested. She guarantees
that Jason will pay all Spinelli's fines. She notices the inspector's
fashionable scarf and asks for advice about what to wear to her upcoming
awards ceremony. They bond over Armani and the inspector accepts Diane's
depiction of
events.
Epiphany gets a call from her son Stan, the computer whiz that use to work
for Jason and Sonny. Stan is talking to her on his cell phone in his car
and tells her he is in Florida. Suddenly, she hears a crashing noise over
the phone and calls to Stan to answer her. She doesn't hear his voice
anymore and becomes very concerned. Jerry watches her at the nurses'
station from afar. He smiles as if he had something to do with it.
Epiphany becomes very frantic when Stan doesn't answer her. Elizabeth
calls 911 to get a hold of a dispatcher to have them talk to Epiphany
about what she knows. Epiphany can't give the dispatcher any useful
information because she only knows that her son was driving in Florida
somewhere and was away on business. Elizabeth takes out her cell phone and
discretely phones Jason to let him know what is going on. Jason and
Spinelli show up at the hospital. Jason informs Epiphany that Spinelli
managed to track down where Stanford was from some type of GPS system he
hacked into on his computer and that a dispatcher from Central Florida was
called and they are on their way to the scene of the car accident.
Epiphany wants answers as to where Stan is and thinks he still works for
Jason and Sonny. Jason tells her that Stan quit working for them back in
September and doesn't know who he went to work for in Florida. Epiphany
gets a call from the police later on and learns that Stan is dead. She
starts crying very hard when she gets the devastating news.
Liz calls Jason to try and get a dinner date. He tells her that he's been
very busy since Sonny is out of town, but he will try. Max comes in and
confirms that Stan's car was run off the road. It doesn't look like he was
working for any of the other families, but it could be the Zaccharas. Max
asks him why he's so hesitant to take down Johnny Zacchara. Jason explains
that Anthony Zacchara had a reputation of going after families, but that
doesn't mean Johnny is going to follow in his father's footsteps. No child
should have to live up to their father's reputation. Carly barges in to
talk to Jason and Max leaves. She wants Jason to talk to Michael about not
turning into his father and ruining his life. Morgan was playing with one
of Michael's toys and accidentally broke it. Michael took Morgan's action
figures and broke their knee caps with a hammer. He told Morgan it was
payback. Jason says that Michael has to work his anger out somehow. Carly
worries that Michael thinks this is how the world works. Jason says he
will try and stop by later, but it's been very busy at work. She tells him
that the boys have another present for him, an antique globe. Carly
doesn't know anyone who deserves to be a father more than Jason. She tells
him about wanting to have a baby but doesn't know if it's a good idea if
there's going to be a mob war. She asks him if Sonny's starting a war?
Dr. Ford offers his sympathy and tells her to go home once she is finished
and take as much time as she needs. Epiphany tells Liz that she knows who
ratted her out. Liz and Nadine offer to get anything that she needs.
Epiphany asks if they can get her son back. Liz tells her she needs
someone to talk to, and Epiphany agrees. She knows just the person to talk
to, also. Epiphany and Liz go storming into Jason's office, who is in the
middle of telling Carly that he's not sure what Sonny will do with the
potential mob war. Epiphany tells Jason that she needs him to find out who
killed her boy. She believes him when he says that Stan wasn't working for
him. Liz points out that they would never put Stan in harm's way. Epiphany
tells him to find out who from his world ran her son off the road and put
their hands on him. Spinelli walks in and notices the gathering. He and
Jason both agree to do what they can to find Stan's killer. Epiphany and
Liz leave. Carly points out to Jason that it was strange Liz showed up for
all of that. Jason leaves and goes to the hospital to warn Epiphany that
she may not like what he finds out. Liz tells him that Epiphany is on
break, but he can wait for her. There's no harm in him standing there. He
looks down, as Carly watches the conversation.
At the hospital, Carly notices that Elizabeth and Jason are talking.
Before she can interfere, she is called for her appointment. Jason leaves.
Later, Sam overhears Elizabeth trying to find a babysitter. She torments
Elizabeth by telling her that Lucky can bring the kids to her place and
she will help Lucky watch them. Elizabeth says that she will not let Sam
anywhere near her children. A jealous and vindictive Sam tell Elizabeth
that no matter what relation Elizabeth manages with Jason, his job will
always come first. She accuses him of being a coward who will not
acknowledge his son because keeping his job with Sonny is more important
than his family. Elizabeth leaves. She goes to the safe house where she
finds Jason tenderly looking at a drawing she made of Jake. Elizabeth
convinces Jason to pose for her so she can portray him holding Jake.
Afterwards they start kissing.
Sam drops by to return a bracelet that Carly lost at the hospital. Since
it is a baby bracelet, Sam assumes that Carly knows about Jason's
relationship to Jake and tosses out several innuendoes. When it becomes
apparent that Carly does not know about Jake's parentage, she tries to
back off, but Carly becomes enraged and tells Sam she knows Jason much
better than Sam does. This is too much for Sam and the dam breaks. She
tells Carly the truth that Jake is Jason's son. Carly refuses to believe
it and thinks that Sam is just jealous of Carly and her friendship with
Jason. Carly says she saw through Sam from the start. She asks how many
beds Sam had to bounce around in: Jax, Sonny, and Jason. Sam tells her she
knows she was thrilled when Sam couldn't get pregnant because Carly knew
what a son would mean to Jason. Now Liz had a son with him and didn't tell
Carly. They did a DNA test. She was there when Jake was born and Jason
called him his son. Carly says all she has to do is go to Jason and he
will tell her it's a lie. Sam tells her that he could keep up the charade
because of what he has with Elizabeth. Carly tells her to leave and looks
upset when Sam does.
Jason looks at a picture of Jake from Christmas and tells Liz that he
looks happy. Liz tells him he should be there to share in his son's
happiness. Jason says they agreed that it's safer if no one knows the
truth. She asks if it was a bad idea to bring the pictures, but he says he
needs to know that his son is happy and safe. He tells her that being with
her makes it bearable for him. They wish they had more time together. It's
complicated, but it's worth it. They eave with the picture of Jake on the
floor.
At home, Cameron reaches for another piece of candy and Liz tells him no.
Bobbie gave him too much candy, as it is. He tries again, but Liz catches
him and tells him to put it back. He runs off before Carly shows up. She
looks at Jake and realizes it's true. Jake is Jason's son. Liz tells her
to leave. Carly tells her she has a choice: talk in front of the kids or
send them off to bed. Liz takes Jake and Cameron in the other room and
tells Carly not to be there when she comes back. Carly doesn't listen and
is still there when Liz comes back. Carly says she's been going over
everything that has happened since Jake was born. Jason has known for a
long time, hasn't he? Liz asks what this has to do with her. Carly says
it's because Liz used a baby to hook Jason. Liz tells her she's just upset
because Jason didn't confide in her. Carly doesn't believe that Jason
wanted to keep Jake a secret. Jason would never give up his son. Liz can't
believe the ridicule coming from the town whore. Carly slaps her. Liz
tells her she needs to leave. Carly thinks Liz got pregnant on purpose.
Liz tells her that she and Jason made a miracle together, which is
something Carly can never have with him. Carly mentions how pathetic it is
that Liz gave Jake the initials of his father. Liz asks how Carly found
out. Carly doesn't say, but Liz guesses it was Sam. When Carly finally
leaves, Liz sits down in disbelief and looks at a picture of Jake.
Jason shows up at Sonny's office while Sonny leaves a message for Kate.
They talk about how Kate doesn't fit into Sonny's world and Sonny doesn't
fit into Kate's world. Jason tells him they need to find a place where
they can be together. If two people love each other, they need to find a
way to be together. In their jobs, they don't always get a lot of time to
be with their loved ones. Sonny points out that there was a time when a
wife and kids didn't get in the way of their business. Everything changed
when the Zacchara family came into the picture. Jason tells him that this
will change soon. When it does, Jason doesn't want Sonny to end up with
nothing. Later, Carly shows up to talk to Jason. He asks if this is about
her wanting to have a baby again. She tells him it's about him having a
baby with Elizabeth. Is it true? Is Jake your son?
Liz shows up at Sam's, furious at her for making trouble. Lucky comes to
the doorway and asks what is going on? Elizabeth wastes no time
informing Lucky that Sam has told Carly that Jake is Jason's son. Lucky
asks Sam why she did it. She tells him that Carly kept belittling her,
just like Elizabeth has come to her apartment to do, and she lashed out.
She tells Lucky that she regrets her actions and she would take it back if
she could. Elizabeth is ready to tell Lucky about Sam's other betrayals,
but he gets a phone call and has to go. He wants Elizabeth to leave with
him, but both she and Sam insist that they need to talk further. Once they
are alone, Elizabeth reminds Sam that Lucky does not know that she watched
Jake being kidnapped and did nothing, or that Sam was responsible for
hiring two men to pretend to be thugs to threaten Elizabeth and her
children in order to make Jason think he was a danger to Elizabeth. Sam
pleads with Elizabeth and tries to generate sympathy for her actions, but
Elizabeth is unforgiving. Sam then tells Elizabeth to keep quiet for
Lucky's sake, using the same argument that Sam and everyone else condemned
when Elizabeth said she kept silent about Jake's paternity for Lucky's
sake. Elizabeth has a few choice words for Sam, but when Sam asks her what
she intends to do, Elizabeth tells Sam that she is going home to love her
children and as far as Sam is concerned, she might do nothing, except
leave it up to Carly to punish Sam for her actions.
Carly goes to Sonny's office and confronts Jason. She is hurt when he
admits that Jake is his son and he has not confided that information to
her, especially when she finds out that Sonny, Lucky, Lulu and Spinelli
all know the truth also. She blames everything on Elizabeth. Jason
interrupts her tirade to tell her that this is why he did not confide in
her. He continues to insist that it was his decision to keep Jake's
paternity secret, while Carly vents and rants about Elizabeth. He points
out the problems with Michael and Johnny Zacchara, along with all the
other reasons that he does not want his son to follow in his career. Carly
counters that Jason and Sonny are good men, and a son could do worse than
to be like them. Finally, Jason asks her to stay out of it and let him
handle the situation with Elizabeth. A fired-up Carly, now wants to be his
"knightess" in shining armor and she insists that Jason should
have his son. She completely ignores his wishes and before Jason can stop
her, charges out of the office. Jason dials the phone.
Carly returns to Elizabeth's house to confront her about keeping Jake from
his father, Jason. Elizabeth tells her that they both made the decision to
keep Jake away from him, and for Lucky to pretend to be the father for
Jake's protection. Carly accuses Elizabeth of wanting to keep Jake away
from Jason because it is inconvenient for her that Jason is her son's
father. Elizabeth tells Carly that she loves Jason. Carly doesn't believe
her and thinks she is only looking out for her own best interests and not
what is best for Jake or Jason. Elizabeth tells her that this doesn't
concern her and asks her to stay out of it. Carly refuses and plans to
make sure that Jason gets joint custody of Jake, no matter what she has to
do.
Jason tells Sonny that Carly knows about Jake now because Sam told her.
Sonny tries to stay out of it but can't. He asks Jason why he is letting
Elizabeth keep his son a secret when he has always been honest about
telling the truth and not keeping secrets. Jason explains that he can't
put his son at risk because of his line of work. Sonny reminds him that he
has three kids. Jason tells him he can't do his job of protecting Sonny
and his family if he has to worry about Elizabeth and Jake all the time.
Sonny asks Jason if he blames him for not being able to claim Jake as his
son. Later, Jason watches Elizabeth take care of Jake while he's outside
looking through the window. Carly goes back to Jason's office and finds a
picture of Jake on his desk.
Carly tells Sonny that she wants to file papers to get "his"
son. Sonny tells her to let Jason and Liz decide what's best for Jake.
Carly thinks that Liz has manipulated the situation and Jason deserves to
love his son and be with him. Jason is her dearest friend. She is closer
to him than she is her own husband. Sonny points out that there may be
something wrong with that. Carly continues to vent about how Elizabeth is
too much of a wimp to deal with Jason's life. Sonny reminds her that not
everyone can put up with the mob life like she can. Carly realizes that
Kate left Sonny again and she's not coming back. Sonny admits that Kate is
back in the city for good. Carly doesn't seem to care much, though, as her
thoughts go back to getting Jason custody of Jake, even part time. Sonny
tells her that he's already tried to talk to Jason, but ultimately it is
Jason's choice. Carly tells Sonny that they need to change Jason's mind.
Jason walks in and tells her no. She knows what it's like to try and keep
her children safe. Carly thinks that he has lost too much time already
with his son. Jason asks her to do what he wants for just one time. Leave
it alone. Carly tells Jason that he doesn't want that. It's what Liz
wants. Jason tells her that if she wants to get all maternal then go have
a kid with Jax. Leave his son out of it. Carly leaves. Sonny and Jason
talk about Morgan and his painting in the office and Kate. Jason tells him
that love doesn't make mistakes. It was something Emily used to say. Sonny
agrees. He says love doesn't mess things up, people mess things up. Jason
nods his head in agreement.
Jason finds Sam on the docks and asks her why she told Carly about Jake.
She tells him she did it to get back at him for hurting her. Now they are
even. He questions if they really are even. He knows she wanted revenge.
She knew the consequences of Carly finding out. She agrees that she did
realize what it would do, but she was only telling his best friend that he
was a dad. How could he not realize how much it hurt her that Liz gave him
the child that she could not give him. At least Carly has the guts to say
what's on her mind, unlike Liz. Sam tells him that this is about Jason and
the choices he is making for his son. He will never be able to make it
work with Liz. She doesn't understand him or his life. She doesn't know
how to stand by him for the man that he is. Liz was his choice, and his
son will pay the price. She leaves.
Liz warns Cameron not to play with matches, and he puts them down. She
tells him to go outside but not to slam the door. It locks when he slams
the door and he won't be able to get back in. He runs out and slams the
door anyway. Liz looks over at Jake and realizes he's hungry. When Cameron
is ready to come back in, Liz has to let him in. She tells him again not
to slam the door until it is fixed. Lucky stops by and Liz tells him about
Cameron playing with matches. Lucky tells him that playing with matches is
not a good idea. When he runs off to his room, Lucky acknowledges that Liz
has her hands full with the boys. She asks him if she missed a visitation,
but he says no. He wants to talk to her about Jake. He thinks they need to
stick to the story about Jake being his son. It's the safest thing for
him, and he bets Jason would agree. Sam just can't help herself sometimes,
but she would never jeopardize Jake. She asks him if he's sure about that.
Lucky admits that Sam is more complicated and doesn't think things
through. He tells her that he's not making excuses for Sam, but he's just
trying to explain things. He wants to be a good father to Jake and
Cameron. He tells her that Jake is a good boy and he wants to help him
grow into a good man. He's still willing to be Jake's father if Jason and
Liz agree. He tells her not to take offense, but he hopes Jake turns out a
lot more like Liz than his father. He leaves. Liz goes to put Jake to bed
and tells him she loves him and will keep him safe. She comes back
downstairs to see Cameron with the matches again. She runs after him as he
runs out the door, unaware that he threw a lit match in the trashcan. The
door slams shut and locks behind them. Liz walks back over to the house
and hears the smoke alarm. She realizes the house is on fire and Jake is
still inside. She starts screaming when she can't open the door.
Jason goes to the hospital where Anthony is being held, and has a very
disturbing conversation with him. Jason remarks on how green Johnny is,
but Anthony counters that a son always grows up like his father and that
Johnny will be fine. Jason cannot help but think of his own son. Anthony
tells Jason that he did not kill Emily, and that he is disappointed that
she is not alive. If she were, he tells Jason, Emily would be the first
person he would kill when he gets out. Jason is unsettled when he leaves.
Trevor arrives
shortly after and tells Anthony that they should both keep the secrets of
the other. When Anthony asks what secrets Trevor knows, Trevor says that
he knows enough to protect himself and Anthony.
As a fire rages inside Elizabeth's house she is locked outside with
Cameron. She sends Cameron off with a neighbor then breaks a window so
that she can get inside to Jake. She cuts her leg climbing in, but rescues
Jake. When she gets him outside, he is not breathing. She does not wait
for the paramedics. She rushes off to the hospital with Jake. Jason
arrives at Elizabeth's house and finds firemen putting out the flames. The
neighbor, who is watching Cameron, tells him that Elizabeth has gone to
the hospital with Jake. He rushes after them.
At the hospital, a frustrated husband has a bomb is strapped to his waist.
He is threating to detonate it if someone does not help his wife. Also in
emergency are the mayor, Monica, Edward, Dr. Ford, Kelly, Epiphany,
Cassius, and several other hospital personnel. Elizabeth rushes into
emergency with Jake. Sam tries to get her to leave, but she is too
distraught to heed the warning. When Joe tells her she cannot get
treatment for Jake, she notices the bomb strapped to him. Joe tells Liz
that she needs to take baby Jake to another hospital. The doctors are all
needed to treat Angie. Epiphany and Liz both try to reason with Joe, but
Sam is the one who finally gets through to him. He agrees to let baby Jake
in to see a doctor. Epiphany rushes off to a cubicle with Jake, shouting
out orders to Regina. Kelly wants to take Angie in a cubicle, also. At
first, Joe is reluctant, but Kelly explains that she needs privacy to
examine his wife. Joe lets Angie go with Kelly.
All of a sudden, Liz starts to feel faint. Dr. Julian notices that Liz has
cut her leg. He takes her into another room to sew her up. She's lost a
lot of blood. Liz frantically wants to get up and make sure Jake is okay.
Epiphany comes in the room and tells her to calm down. She tells her that
Jason is outside. She knew that news would calm her. Out in the
waiting area, Joe is outraged that Jason is there. Jason says he needs to
check on a baby that was brought in. Joe asks if he's the father. Jason
says that the mother is his friend. Joe does not allow him in. He asks if
he is armed, and Jason pulls out his gun and lays it down on the floor.
Joe thinks he's a cop, but Monica says he's a gangster. He's one of the
most dangerous men in Port Charles. She should know, because she's his
mother. Jason preoccupies Joe by asking about the baby. It is revealed
that Angie had multiple miscarriages and they decided to stop trying. They
got pregnant anyway, and Joe considers it a miracle. Angie wanted a boy,
and Joe wanted a girl. He thought the shop could support them, but now he
realizes that no one cares about anything.
Lucky and a security guard eavesdrop on what's going on in the emergency
room through a door in the stairwell. Lucky sees Joe holding Monica
hostage. Joe asks Jason how he feels about his mother. Lucky relays to
Scott that he thinks he can take out Joe. Scott tells him to shoot to
kill. Meanwhile, Jason prepares his own plan. Joe becomes increasingly
distraught and threatening. Jason tries to calm him down. Scott encourages
Lucky, who is poised in the hallway with a sniper rifle, to shoot the
bomber. When Lucky hesitates, because Jason is in the way, Scott orders
him to fire anyway. Lucky refuses to kill an innocent man, even Jason.
When Lucky sees that the bomber, Joe, is holding a "dead man's
switch," he realizes that if he shoots, the bomb will go off. He
tells an irate Scott that they will have to find another way.
Outside the hospital, Mac arrives on the scene and relieves Scott, telling
him that he has overstepped his authority. Mac, not the mayor, is
responsible for the safety of Port Charles. Inside, Jason, with Sam's
help, continues trying to reason with Joe. In one of the cubicles, Jake
almost dies, but Epiphany and Cassius bring him back. Elizabeth nearly
bleeds out, but a shaken Monica helps Leo and she is stabilized. As
Elizabeth is recovering, Lucky sneaks in disguised as an orderly. He tells
her that he has a plan for getting people out of the hospital. She begs
him to start with Jake. Jason continues to reason calmly with Joe. He gets
Dr. Ford to agree that no action will be taken against Joe, that Angie
will still be treated and that Joe can stay with her until the doctors
determine what is going on. Joe is on the verge of relenting when Nikolas
storms in, still in a rage. When Joe threatens to detonate the bomb,
Nikolas taunts him and tells him to go ahead. Jason and others try to
restrain Nikolas, but it only makes him madder. He rushes at Joe and
knocks him down. Someone screams and the screen goes black.
Joe talks to Sam about some car he had and how all he wants is for his son
to one day be able to get behind the wheel of the car he had gotten from
his own father. Jason overhears Joe talking about his dreams for his son.
He decides to take a chance and confront him again. Joe asks him what he
is doing standing up and approaching him again without permission. Jason
asks him if he ever has played poker. Joe tells him he doesn't play much
poker because his luck has been very bad lately. Jason tells him that he
likes roulette himself because you have a fifty-fifty chance of winning at
it. Joe doesn't like it when Jason starts walking closer and closer to
him. Dr. Julian Tavares starts walking behind Joe to help Jason out by
distracting Joe enough for Jason to grab him and
disarm him. Jason grabs him and Joe pushes on the detonator. Nothing
happens. Jason pulls at the bomb Joe has strapped around his waist and
shows everyone that Joe was bluffing and that there was no bomb after all.
Everyone sighs in relief.
Both Sam and Jason see Elizabeth and Lucky with Jake and can't help but be
a little bit jealous when seeing them together. Jason doesn't announce his
presence and leaves to go back into the emergency room. Edward grabs him
as he passes by him. He tells him that he did a brave thing confronting
Joe and that he showed himself to be a true Quartermaine for a moment
there and asks Monica if she agrees. Monica doesn't say anything and acts
like Jason doesn't exist. Jason goes to check on his son from afar. He is
about to approach Jake when suddenly Monica appears to check on him
herself.
Before Jason can look in on Elizabeth, Max finds him and tells him that a
Zacchara ship is using their shipping lanes. Jason instructs Max to take
out the Zacchara ship. Spinelli shows up and lets Jason know that Lulu is
on the ship. Jason stops Max from taking action. Lulu and Logan are tied
up on the ship, Logan manages to free himself, and as he is about to untie
Lulu, Moreau's men rush in. He struggles as one of them order's another to
shoot Lulu. Before he can take action, Johnny, Jason, and Spinelli arrive
and subdue Moreau's troops. Logan, Lulu, Spinelli, and Jason leave the
ship. On the docks, Jason, Lulu, Spinelli, and Logan see and hear
the boat explode.
Dr. Leo tells Elizabeth that she will not be released from the hospital,
because he is afraid that she will rip out the stitches in her leg. Lucky
brings Jake, who can be released, to see her. They have a happy
conversation and she asks him to watch the boys while she is in the
hospital recovering. He quickly agrees. Jason sees them together and does
not interrupt. A happy Lucky takes Jake away. Although Jason sees them,
Lucky does not see Jason. Jason goes to Elizabeth's room, but Leo is about
to go in, so he turns away. When her door opens, Elizabeth hopes it's
Jason, but is disappointed when Leo walks in. Dr. Julian comes to check on
Liz, who admits that she is having nightmares and is not sleeping. She
asks for things to draw with, and then she asks what the date is. Carly
comes in and tells her that she knows darn well what the day is. Carly
says Liz knows that it's Jason's birthday and should give Jason the gift
of spending his birthday with his son. Carly is going to do her best to
convince Jason to go for custody of Jake. The fire proves that Liz isn't
keeping Jake safe and is an unfit mother. Liz is shocked that Carly is
being so hateful. They continue to argue until Jax comes in. He praises
Liz for her bravery in rescuing Jake. He tells her that her kids are in
good hands and they should all do everything possible to make sure things
stay that way. Carly relents to the pressure and they both leave to plan
Jason's birthday party. Lucky takes Jake to see Liz at the hospital. She
is thrilled to see her little boy. Cameron is with a neighbor. Liz asks
how Jake is sleeping, and Lucky tells her how he's been using Laura's old
trick to get Jake to sleep.
On the docks, Trevor and his men surround Jason with guns drawn. Trevor
tells Jason he has five seconds to tell him where Johnny is. Jason says he
doesn't know where Johnny is. Max comes onto the scene with his own gun
drawn and Trevor's men put their guns down. Trevor tells Jason that if
Johnny has been harmed, it will be Jason's fault. Jason says that Trevor
pushed him into this life, so if anyone is to blame it is Trevor. When
Trevor leaves, Jason tells Max and Milo to search for Johnny. Max mentions
that it might not be a bad thing for Johnny to never show back up. Jason
says that Johnny may not be the bad guy that he and Sonny think he is.
He's just a kid trying to outrun his father's reputation. Jason leaves a
message for Sonny and keeps him up to date with what is going on with the
Zacchara family. He hangs up and Lulu approaches him. They argue about
Johnny, and Jason tells her to stay away from Johnny if she wants to help
him. He tells her that he has Max and Milo looking for Johnny. It's all
that he can do.
Lulu goes back to pays a visit to Liz at GH. She tells her that she needs
a favor. It's personal and Liz can't ask any questions. A person is hurt,
but they can't see a doctor. Liz knows right away, and tells Lulu to get
some antibiotics from the supply closet in the emergency room. Lulu finds
the drugs and comes back to show Liz what she is taking. Unknowingly, she
just barely missed Monica slipping into the supply closet to sneak a drink
and re-fill her water bottle with alcohol. Liz now asks Lulu to do her a
favor. It is also personal and requires that Lulu ask no questions. Lulu
agrees. Lulu meets up with Jason and hands him the picture of Jake that
Liz drew, and wishes him a happy birthday. Lulu goes back to the
warehouse, but she can't find Johnny.
At the hospital, Jason wakes Elizabeth, who is very happy to see him. He
tells her how proud he is of her. He thanks her for saving Jake, who he
calls "our son." He tells her how scared he was when the ER was
taken over by the bomber. He confesses that he always thought that a
threat to Jake would come as a result of his life choices, not as result
of circumstance. Elizabeth is quick to blame herself because Cameron was
playing with matches. She wants to know if Jason has changed his mind and
now wants to claim Jake. He tells her how much he wants to be with both of
them because he loves them so much, but he knows that the decision to keep
Jake's parentage a secret is for the best. They decide to continue
stealing whatever happiness they can. Jason agrees to stay with Elizabeth
until she falls asleep.
Later on the pier, an emotional Jason is holding a picture of Jake and
says, " Will you forgive me?" At the same moment, Elizabeth
wakes with a gasp. Elizabeth has another dream about the house fire that
trapped Jake inside. In the dream, she hears Jake crying for her. She
wakes up and runs out into the hall. Julian and Robin find her in the hall
and escort her back to her hospital bed. Elizabeth complains to them that
she took a sedative that made her dreams worse and that she didn't get
much sleep. Robin guesses that she is more likely suffering from
post-traumatic stress than just having a dream about the fire. Julian
tells Elizabeth that he will prescribe a different sedative that should
help her sleep without causing any side effects. Robin tells him she will
stay with Elizabeth for awhile.
After Julian leaves the room, Robin locks the door and tells Elizabeth
about her pregnancy. Elizabeth is very happy for her and guesses that
Patrick is the father since she remembered Robin telling her that she
slept with Patrick after Georgie's funeral to seek comfort from him. Robin
isn't sure about how she feels about producing a baby the one night she
slept with Patrick. She worries that Patrick will think she planned to get
pregnant by him that night when it wasn't planned at all. Elizabeth thinks
that it was perfect that she got pregnant by Patrick that night because
with a death came new life. Robin doesn't plan to tell Patrick about the
baby even though she knows he will notice she is pregnant at some point.
She thinks she will have to lie to him if he does ask her. She asks for
Elizabeth's advice after admitting she is confused about what to do.
Elizabeth advises her to tell Patrick the truth because the truth ends up
coming out somehow anyway. She also thinks that Patrick may change when he
finds out he is going to be a father.
Jason stops by the hospital to check on how Elizabeth is doing. Epiphany
informs him that she can only give out patient information to immediate
family members but hypothetically tells him that Elizabeth is doing fine
physically, but that emotionally she needs to have something to keep her
mind off her own thoughts. Elizabeth wakes up to find a note that says,
"Don't stop." Elizabeth smiles at the note before going back to
sleep.
Jason finds Michael inside Sonny's office and asks him what he is up to?
Michael was about to steal Sonny's gun but managed to shut the desk drawer
and acted like he wasn't caught. Jason confronts him about trying to steal
the gun and asks him what he planned to do with it. Michael tells him he
only came by to see Sonny after not seeing him for a few days. Jason tells
him that Sonny will be coming back home soon and not to worry about him.
Michael tells Jason that the "text-message" killer is still on
the loose and that neither he nor Sonny has found him and killed him yet.
Jason gives Michael a lecture about guns not being safe for him to use
then tells him to go back to school and let them take care of things. He
also tells Michael that neither he nor Sonny wants him to have the kind of
life they have and want better things for him. Michael leaves the office.
However, he returns
later to try to steal the gun again but Jason has managed to lock the desk
drawer. Michael takes the letter opener and thinks about breaking into the
desk but changes his mind. He leaves unaware that Jason was hiding in the
office and watching him. Jason looks very worried about Michael's actions.
Later, Jason has his hands full when Kate and then Carly arrive, looking
for a missing Sonny. Kate evades when Carly wonders why Sonny would take
her to Bensonhurst. But ultimately, Kate reveals that Sonny proposed to
her. Carly angrily rips into Kate, who makes a hasty retreat. A frustrated
Jason then throws Carly's own behavior back in her face. When Elizabeth
returns home to find Jake in Sam's arms, she's absolutely furious.
#10B At Kelly's, Maxie goes upstairs to see Coop. She starts
screaming when she sees him hanging from the ceiling. Mike, Logan, Lulu,
and Jason rush upstairs. Jason surveys the scene while the others go
downstairs to call 911. Jason notices an open window. He goes downstairs
and questions a distraught Maxie. Mac and his detectives arrive. Maxie
tells them the same thing that she told Jason. She and Coop were planning
to go away to Canada for a few days. Mac elicits from Logan that he saw
Coop after Maxie did. Logan tells Mac that he borrowed money from Coop. He
does not disclose finding the DNA test results or his conversation with
Coop, in which Coop denied being the "Text Message Killer," but
indicated his suspicions of an unnamed "other." He tells Mac
that when he left Kelly's, Coop was having coffee. The lurking dishwasher
confirms his alibi. A search of the body reveals the missing DNA test
results, which are a match for Coop. When the tread on Coop's boots also
match those found near Georgie's body, Mac and his detectives conclude
that Coop committed suicide because he was the "Test Message
Killer." Maxie refuses to believe it, but Mac thinks it is her grief
talking. After the police leave, Jason meets Spinelli outside Kelly's.
Jason is skeptical because he got a call from Coop moments before his
death. "What," he asks rhetorically, "Could a guy who is
about to kill himself want to tell me?"
Sam tries to make amends, but Elizabeth does not trust her, and tells her
to make plans to break up with Lucky. Elizabeth threatens to tell Lucky
that Sam stood by while Jake was kidnapped and that she hired men to
threaten Elizabeth and her children. Sam pleads with Elizabeth and says
that she is falling in love with Lucky. A noticeably weak and limping
Elizabeth shows her the door as she says that Sam is incapable of love and
that she does not deserve a good man like Lucky. Before she finishes her
diatribe, Elizabeth notices that her leg is bleeding and nearly passes
out. Sam is helping her to the couch when Lucky arrives. Elizabeth says
that she is fine and just wants to go home. Lucky points out the obvious:
she is in no condition to care for herself or her children. On top of
that, the fire damage to her house has not been fully repaired. Lucky
wants her to go to the hospital, but when Sam volunteers to watch Jake,
Elizabeth balks.
Two older boys, who have sold Michael a gun, taunt him about Sonny. He
stands his ground and does not show any fear. When questioned, he tells
them he wants the gun to protect his mother and his friends from anyone
who would hurt them. As he is about to leave, the boys ask if he wants
bullets for the gun. When he checks, Michael sees that the gun is not
loaded. He wants bullets, but has no money to buy them. The boys snicker
and tell him to come back when he has the cash. As they walk away, Michael
points the gun at their backs and mutters that he will see them again.
While at the police station, Jason calls Spinelli. He asks Spinelli to
obtain Coop's phone records. He wants to know who Coop talked to before he
called Jason. Spinelli gathers that Jason still doesn't think Coop is the
killer. They hang up and Spinelli gets to work. Jason and Jerry watch as
the mayor, Alexis, and Mac gather the press around for a conference.
Alexis announces that Cooper Barrett, a police cadet, was the text message
killer and has killed himself. Afterwards, the reporters ask Jason if he
is satisfied with Coop being the killer. He says, "No comment."
The reporters ask if the killing was mob related. Mac says, "No
comment."
Liz sleeps in her hospital room while someone sneaks in. She wakes up
after having a nightmare about the fire and Jake. Sam is there. She tries
to calm Liz down, but Liz wants to know what she's doing there. Sam says
she came to make peace. Sam says she and Lucky should have talked to Liz
first about them dating. Sam goes on to explain that if they had talked to
her first, she might not have been so upset when she found Sam at home
with her kids. She wants to make peace and asks Liz to allow her to be
with the kids. Liz tells Sam she's kidding herself if she thinks Liz will
allow Sam to be anywhere near her kids. Lucky overhears as Liz tells Sam
that she'll never be allowed near her kids after what she did. Sam thinks
that Liz is still trying to emerge as the town saint. Liz mentions that
she is raising two kids as a single mom. When she's not working, she's
doing laundry, changing diapers, and cleaning up puke. She questions why
Sam still thinks she is trying to be a saint, and tells Sam to guess
again. Liz tells her that nothing has changed and Sam leaves.
In Sonny's office, Jason and Max are talking business. Max exits when
Sonny storms in. He demands to know why Johnny is still alive. Jason tries
to reason with Sonny. Johnny is not the enemy, Trevor and Moreau are, he
explains. Sonny remains vitriolic and unconvinced. He demands that Jason
kill Johnny. Jason responds that maybe Sonny should be paying less
attention to Johnny and more to Michael, who Jason caught taking the gun
from Sonny's bottom desk drawer. Sonny is defensive and accuses Jason of
using Michael as an excuse to justify keeping Jake's parentage secret.
Jason gets Sonny back on track by telling him that his only concern is for
Michael, who is too old to accept simple explanations. Jason urges Sonny
to take some personal time. He knows that Kate turned down his proposal
and so does Carly. Sonny is about to blow his top again when Kate stops
in. Jason uses that as a reason to go elsewhere.
Lucky confronts Elizabeth in her hospital room. He overheard her
conversation with Sam and wants to know what Sam is hiding from him.
Elizabeth tells him to talk to Sam, but Lucky insists that she trust him
and tell him the truth. Finally, she does. Sam watched Jake's kidnapping
and did nothing, she confesses. Then, later, she hired men to pretend to
threaten Elizabeth. Lucky is stunned. He leaves the hospital and goes to
the docks, where the same boy who sold a gun to Michael tries to sell
drugs to Lucky. Lucky blows off steam and runs the boy away. He picks up a
plastic bag filled with pills that the boy dropped during their struggle.
As Lucky contemplates the pills, Jason appears on the stairs behind him.
He watches as Lucky tosses the pills into the lake. Lucky notices Jason
and bitterly inquires if Jason was wondering what Lucky would do with the
pills, or wondering if Lucky could still be trusted with Jake. Lucky tells
Jason, "You know I'd like to swear that I'd never take another pill,
but that's a dangerous road for a recovering drug addict. But you could be
with the person day in and day out, look them in the eye, into the heart,
think you know them and be dead wrong." As he walks away, he looks
Jason in the eye and says, "But I don't have to tell you that."
Elizabeth wakes up to find Lucky sitting in a nearby chair watching her.
She asks him what he is doing in her room. He explains that he was
thinking about how many mistakes he has made lately with her and Sam. He
apologizes to her for how he betrayed her when they were married. She
tells him he doesn't need to apologize again. He tells her that he stopped
by his house earlier and looked through the window. He saw Sam sitting at
the table with candles all around the house. He tells Elizabeth that he
feels like everyone has kept things from him to protect him. Elizabeth
tells him that Sam admitted that she loved him. He tells her that makes it
even worse.
Jason shows up at his office to find Nikolas there waiting for him.
Nikolas shows him the newspaper and asks Jason if he thinks Cooper Barrett
was the killer. Jason doesn't give him an answer but explains that Alexis
made a statement to the press, and the police had enough evidence pointing
to Cooper. Nikolas tries to get more information from Jason but Max enters
the office and tells Jason he needs to talk to him right away. Nikolas
thinks he is in the way and plans to leave his office, but Jason asks him
to stay and wait for him. Nikolas seems to have remembered something
and he yells at Emily that she has to leave that he can't protect her
anymore. Jason comes running over to him and asks him what is going on?
Nikolas tells him that he was trying to go over in his head what happened
that night but couldn't remember anything about who may have killed Emily.
He doesn't think he could have hurt her or that she could have hurt him by
hitting him but somehow his blood ended up on her dress and mask. He asks
Jason if he is 100% sure that Cooper was the killer? Jason tells him that
he isn't that sure. Nikolas asks Jason if he thinks Nikolas could have
killed her. Jason tells Nikolas that he doesn't think Nikolas killed her
either. Nikolas tells Jason that he can't actually place Cooper in the
room that night, either, and thinks they have a problem if Cooper isn't
the killer.
Jason goes over to Carly's house to tell her that his instincts tell him
that Cooper isn't the killer. Michael is on the stairs and overhears them
talking and becomes worried about his mother's safety. Before he leaves,
he notices that she's not feeling good. She changes the subject and asks
how he is doing. She knows she's not supposed to butt in, but he's a
father. Jason is saved when his phone rings, and he leaves. Jason answers
the phone and it is Liz. She is upset. She continues to have nightmares
about Jake and Sam. Liz tells Jason that she told Lucky about Sam. She
needs to see him. Jason understands, because he needs to see her. He
offers to pick her up, but she says she will take the back way and meet
him at the safe house. He agrees and rushes off to get a fire started
before she gets there. Liz tries to make it to the safe house, but
she's having problems concentrating on driving because of how tired she is
and she is dozing off. Monica, and Carly are also driving in the rain.
Monica is drinking, and Carly is crying. Sam fights off the "Text
Message Killer," but runs into the path of an oncoming car, which
does not stop after hitting her. A badly shaken Monica calls the police to
report that her car has been stolen. Jason waits at the safe house for
Elizabeth. When she finally arrives, she is badly shaken. She tells him
that she was dozing off at the wheel and that she must have fallen asleep,
because she remembers waking to the sound of running over something. All
she wants now is to sleep and feel safe in his arms.
Liz wakes up from a nightmare. Jason is there and asks her what the bad
dream was about. She says that in he nightmare she was driving and
she saw Sam holding Jake in the middle of the road. Suddenly, Jake was
safe in the back seat. Jason says he is there for her. Liz acknowledges
she feels safe when she is with him. Liz and Jason talk about how they
want to have a family together. Liz asks him if there's anything they can
do in order to have a family. Liz realizes "family" is a foreign
concept for Jason. She loves their time together, but she wishes he could
see what it is like to be a part of a real family. They fall asleep
together by the fire, and sleep until Liz wakes up from another nightmare.
At the safe house, Jason finds blood on Elizabeth's car. She and Jason
immediately conclude that she must have hit a small animal. Jason goes to
the crash site and finds detectives there. He learns that Sam was the
victim of a hit-and-run driver. He does not reveal any information. Later,
Elizabeth meets Lucky in the hospital and also learns of Sam's accident.
Lucky blames himself, and tells Elizabeth that the Text Message Killer may
still be out there. He relates to her that a seemingly frightened Sam had
called to tell him that she had received a message from the killer, but he
did not believe her. He is still not sure, so he has not said anything
because he does not want to panic the public. After he leaves, Elizabeth
goes toSam's room and looks inside. Her phone rings. It is Jason. He asks
if she can talk. Elizabeth says no, that she will call him back. Both fear
that Elizabeth is the hit-and-run driver. As Sam awakens, Elizabeth stands
beside her bed and whispers, "My God, did I do this to you?"
Jason walks up behind Johnny on the docks. Johnny asks if he's there to
kill him on Sonny's orders? When Jason demurs, Johnny says he is having
trouble believing something someone just told him. When Jason asks what it
is, Johnny answers, "Love kills. What do you think?" Rather than
answer, Jason walks away. When Lucky arrives at the crash site, he learns
that the CSI team has found a tire print and that Jason, for no apparent
reason, has been there as well.
Jason shows up at Sonny's and asks him what he needs him to do. Sonny asks
him to find someone. Jason seems very distracted and keeps checking his
cell phone for messages. Sonny notices it and asks him what is going on.
Jason doesn't give him any answer. Sonny becomes worried about the
Zaccharas and what they are up to, especially Johnny. Jason suggests that
he leave Johnny and his family alone for the moment and wait for him to
make a move first. Sonny is very antsy and wants something done
immediately. Jason returns to Sonny's office but still seems very
distracted. Sonny wants to talk to Jason about finding out who this Moreau
guy is and why he kidnapped Lulu. Jason tells him that he tried to find
out who Moreau is but couldn't find anything about him that would help
them. He gets a phone call and tells Sonny he has to go. Sonny isn't too
pleased with being dismissed by Jason.
Sam wakes up in the hospital to find Elizabeth standing there watching her
sleep. She asks Elizabeth what happened and why she is in the hospital.
Elizabeth explains that Sam was hit by a car and the driver took off
without stopping. Sam remembers being hit but doesn't know who hit her.
She asks what Elizabeth is doing in her room. Elizabeth notices Sam is
getting agitated and her heart rate is going up and offers to go get her a
doctor. Sam doesn't believe Elizabeth cares what happens to her and tells
her she wants Lucky not a doctor. Elizabeth takes off. Later, when Sam
wakes up again, she finds Lucky by her bedside. She is relieved to see
him. He tells her he is investigating her hit-and-run and is very
businesslike with her. Sam tells him about what happened when she called
to tell him about the text-message she got from the killer and how he
didn't believe her. She explains that the killer attacked her but she
fought him off long enough to run away. She tells him that she was chased
by the killer and she ran off toward Route 9 to try to get help. She saw
car headlights and that is all she remembers. Lucky is skeptical about her
version of what happened. He tells her not to tell anyone else what she
told him. Sam is hurt when Lucky doesn't automatically believe her.
Elizabeth calls Jason and asks him to meet her at the safe house. Jason
meets her there and the two of them embrace. Jason tells Elizabeth that he
knows about what happened to Sam. She tells him that she went to see Sam
at the hospital earlier and that Sam didn't look too good. She tells Jason
that she is worried that she may have been the one who hit Sam with her
car. Jason is worried about the same thing. Liz tells Jason she might have
been the one to hit Sam. She left the hospital against doctor's orders and
fell asleep at the wheel. A judge would never believe that she didn't hit
her on purpose because of all the animosity between the two women. Jason
tells her not to panic. Liz says that he can't cover this up. It will just
make things worse.
Michael finds the gun dealers on the docks. They think he wants to return
the gun, but he came to buy bullets. Jason has a job for Spinelli. He
needs information on stolen cars and any auto body work that may have been
done recently. Spinelli does his work quickly and finds three cars that
are having repair work done. Nikolas Cassadine's car was stolen and found
later in a chop shop. He never reported it stolen, though. Monica's car
was reported stolen and was found coming back from the same area where Sam
was hit. Carly's car was not reported stolen, but it was having a bumper
replaced. Jason calls Liz and tells her there is no conclusive proof
that she is the one that hit Sam. She tells him to hurry and get back to
her. She has a feeling something bad is happening. He tells her he loves
her and gets off the phone. Lucky walks over to him and asks what he knows
about Sam's hit and run? Since Jason showed up at the scene of Sam's
accident, Lucky thinks Jason must be the hit-and-run driver. Jason listens
to Lucky rant. As he walks away from Lucky he tells him to take himself
off the case, not because Jason has something to hide, but because Lucky
is too close and cannot be objective. Elizabeth goes home with her
children. Nikolas drops by for a visit. Elizabeth encourages him to have
the surgery while the window of opportunity exists. He is reluctant, but
Elizabeth tells him that Emily is gone and he has his son, Spencer, to
think about. He agrees and asks her to help him with a birthday party for
the Spencer. While he plays with the boys, she gets a call from Jason. He
tells her that Lucky has just accused him of Sam's accident. He encourages
her to keep quiet until he learns more. Later, she asks Nikolas if he
knows about Sam. This is the first that he has heard of Sam's accident. He
shares his fears with Elizabeth. He had a blackout in the same area, at
the same time as Sam's hit-and-run. He is worried that he was the driver
and does not remember.
At the hospital, Liz tells Jason she plans on going to the police and
telling them she may have been the one who hit Sam. He warns her against
doing so until he can check out the other suspects in this case. He sees
Monica, but Liz tells him not to do that to himself. Jason doesn't think
Liz is responsible for Sam's hit and run, but Liz points out to him that
he doesn't know that as a fact. Jason visits Carly to talk to her, but he
hangs out with the boys first. He asks Michael and Morgan to go upstairs
while he talks to
their mom. Michael says he wants to know what is going on. There is a
battle of the wills, until Carly finally puts her foot down and makes him
go upstairs. Once the boys are gone, Jason asks about Carly's accident.
Carly wants to know why Jason cares. It's not Jason's problem. She didn't
hit Sam, so he shouldn't bother with it. Carly thinks she needs increased
security if the Text Message Killer is really still out on the streets.
Michael overhears this and walks back to his room. He locks the door, gets
his gun out and loads it. Suddenly, Morgan fiddles around and manages to
get the door open. Michael hides the gun just in time. He can't believe
Morgan got in with the door locked.
Liz goes into Sam's hospital room to take her vitals and witnesses Sam
having a nightmare. Liz apologizes to Sam just as she wakes up. Sam wants
to know what she's sorry for. Liz explains to Sam that she was having a
nightmare. Sam thinks she saw the person driving the car, but the lights
were so bright. Suddenly, Lucky comes by and asks how Sam is doing. Liz
tells him Sam's vitals are good, and she leaves. Lucky tells Sam that her
cell phone has been found, but the text messages are unable to be
recovered. He tells her it's not his problem anymore and he leaves. Sam
can't believe no one believes her. Liz goes back to the nurse's station
and offers to cover for Epiphany if she wants to go home. Epiphany tells
the staff she could never leave a hospital full of sick patients to them.
Back in the break area, Cassius tells Liz he plans on going to Dr. Ford
about Epiphany if she doesn't take some time off. Liz returns to Epiphany
and offers again to cover her shift. Cassius asks her why she is being so
stubborn.
The Text Message Killer is shown getting a bottle of beer out of a small
fridge. He walks over to newspaper clippings and photos of his victims.
There are red X's next to Leticia, Georgie, and Emily, the three women he
has killed. There are also pictures of Maxie and Carly. A red phone cord
and cell phone are shown on the desk. Sam wakes up to find Jason
standing over her bed. Liz sees Lucky in the hospital and tells him she
wants to talk to him about something she's done.
Elizabeth tells Lucky that she feels responsible for Sam's hit and run. As
she starts telling her story, Lucky stops her when she reaches the point
of leaving the hospital because she wanted to see her children. He tells
Elizabeth that she has no need to feel guilty, because it is his fault for
throwing Sam out of his house. Besides, Lucky says, he has reason to
believe that Jason did the deed. When Elizabeth scoffs that Jason drives a
motorcycle and Sam was hit by a car, Lucky does not swerve but remains
fully fixated on Jason. Jason may not have hit Sam, says Lucky, but Jason
has no conscience and he knows something about the accident. "So,
please," says Lucky, "Keep your distance. It's still the best
thing for our little boy." Elizabeth is thoughtful as he walks away.
Later she meets Jason on the roof. He warns her to be careful as he shares
his fears that the Text Message Killer is still out there.
Jason asks Sam about the accident. Sam is still very bitter and gives
Jason no useful information until she mentions the Text Message Killer.
Jason is shocked. Sam thinks that he does not believe her, but he does.
Sam softens momentarily and Jason says that he is sorry for hurting her.
She wonders out loud if "Saint Elizabeth" caused the change in
him. Sam hardens her heart and shouts for Jason to get out. Dr. Devlin
(whose mouth and jaw bear a striking resemblance to Jerry's unseen,
whispery mystery man) walks in. He stands up to Jason, who leaves after
telling Sam that he will listen if she wants to talk. Sam is impressed
with Devlin and tells him a little about her past with Jason and about
Jason's place with Sonny.
Claudia is playing pool when Jason walks in to ask after Spinelli. When
Jason rests his back against a wall, she speaks to him. "Are you
interested in taking me on?" says Claudia, as she puts her wad of
cash on the pool table. (This scene pays homage to a similar scene when
Jason first met Carly, then played by actress Sarah Brown, who now plays
Claudia.) He accepts her offer. She tries to make a wager with him about
what each of them will get if they win. Jason decides to wait until the
game is over to decide what he wants from her. She tells him that if she
wins she wants him to agree to a dance with her. Jason goes along with it.
Spinelli shows up and hollers out to Jason while Claudia is trying to make
her shot on the pool table. She ends up startled enough to miss her shot.
Spinelli looks at Claudia and wonders why Jason is hanging out with her?
Jason is all business and asks Spinelli if he got the address for him.
Spinelli refers to Claudia as "Vixenella." Jason tells Claudia
he has to leave and tells her they will finish the game another time.
Later, Jason and Spinelli show up at the police impound warehouse where
Jason plans to break in. Spinelli calls out different possible combination
codes to open the secured door. Spinelli asks Jason about Claudia. Jason
tells him he doesn't know who she is and that she got on his nerves a
little, but agreed to play a game of pool with her to pass the time. Jason
tries the door and finds that it is unlocked after Spinelli mentions that
if Maxie was there with him she probably wouldn't waste her time on
electronics and would just try the door.
Dr. Devlin walks with Sam down the hall to make sure she doesn't fall or
get dizzy suddenly after she decides to take a walk around the hospital.
Elizabeth and Nadine are at the nurses' station when Sam approaches the
desk to lean on it for support. Dr. Devlin gets paged suddenly and asks
Elizabeth to monitor Sam for him while he goes to see about a patient.
Elizabeth hesitates before answering him. Devlin asks her what is wrong?
Elizabeth tells him she is supposed to be manning the station, not
watching out for patients. Devlin tells her that he only needs her to
watch out and make sure Sam gets back to her room safely. Elizabeth tells
him that it isn't a good idea for her and Sam to be around each other.
Devlin orders Elizabeth to be professional and treat Sam as she would any
patient. Elizabeth agrees to do as he asked. Sam tells Devlin that she and
Elizabeth have a man in common with each other and tells him that the
truth isn't Elizabeth's strong suit. Devlin leaves them.
Sam confronts Elizabeth about telling Lucky the truth about what she did.
Elizabeth tells her she had no choice but to tell Lucky everything since
he overheard their conversation that day and knew she was keeping
something from him. Sam warns her that the ball is back in her court.
Elizabeth thinks Sam is threatening her but Sam tells her she is only
telling the truth. Nikolas arrives and approaches them. Nikolas asks to
speak to Sam before his appointment with Patrick. Sam walks over to the
waiting area with him. Nikolas tells Sam about how he blacked out that
night while he was driving and that he may have been the one who hit her.
Sam tells him that she wouldn't hold him responsible if he did do that
since she knows it isn't his fault. Elizabeth overhears them talking and
wonders if maybe Nikolas hit Sam with his car and it wasn't her after all.
Jason shows up at the hospital to see Elizabeth. She tells him about her
discovery that Nikolas may have been the one who hit Sam with his car.
Jason tells her that it wasn't Nikolas and he has proof of it. He tells
her that the police report states Sam was hit from the passenger side of
the car and that Nikolas' car doesn't have a dent on that side so he
couldn't have hit her. Elizabeth realizes her car was dented on that side
so she could still be the one who hit Sam that night.
Sonny and Jason try to talk about business, but Jason is distracted. Sonny
reminds him that business comes first. He tells Jason about Michael buying
bullets and trying to get his hands on a gun. Claudia is the priority
right now, though. They decide to have Spinelli get information on
Claudia. Sonny leaves to go check on Kristina. While Jason talks on the
phone to Max, Claudia approaches him and asks to shoot some pool. Jason
declines the invitation, but she asks why he is always in a hurry. They
talk about their business and how they are both busy people. When Jason
tries to leave, Claudia says she doesn't even know his name. Jason says
that should tell her something and leaves. Jason arrives at Kelly's and
sits down with Spinelli. Jason is trying to get information regarding
Claudia Zacchara. Spinelli pulls up a picture of Claudia with Jason.
Nikolas arrives at the hospital where Liz greets him. They talk about it
being Spencer's birthday. They are both worried about the killer still
being on the loose. Liz says she still doesn't think he is responsible for
Sam's hit-and-run. Sam overhears their conversation and tells Nikolas he
should listen to Liz about this. Sam thinks Nikolas should concentrate on
getting well and being with his son. Nikolas says he can't be with his
family because of his blackouts. Liz thinks this is the perfect reason for
getting the
surgery. Later in the hall, Liz sees Nikolas, who doesn't look very
good. She asks him if he's okay? Nikolas falls to the ground, and Liz
calls for help. Nikolas has a flashback of the ball. He tells Liz he can
see Emily. Liz wants to get Patrick, but Nikolas begs her to stay with
him. He thinks he sees someone else with Emily at the ball. Elizabeth
stops Patrick from administering drugs immediately because Nikolas is
remembering the night Emily was murdered. Patrick hesitates for a moment,
but Devlin rushes in and takes charge. After ordering drugs for Nikolas,
he soundly chastises Patrick, Robin, and Elizabeth for their hesitation.
Elizabeth phones Jason to tell him about what Nikolas has remembered. He
leaves for the hospital, but not before cautioning Spinelli and Maxie not
to jump to any conclusions about Logan without proof.
Michael is on the pier near the building that both Kate and Carly want to
buy. He accidentally drops the gun and it discharges. He looks up he sees
Kate unconscious on the ground. He is horrified by what has happened.
Michael runs and stows away on a freighter leaving Port Charles. Jason
meets Elizabeth at the hospital. They are about to agree to meet later
when Jason receives a phone call from Sonny, who is on the docks and wants
Jason to meet him there immediately. As Sonny hangs up he notices Kate's
lifeless body lying on the pier. Jason finds Sonny in the alley with an
unconscious Kate. Sonny tells him he is certain the Zacchara family is
responsible for Kate's gunshot. Jason leaves to find out who called the
hit on Kate. Jason arrives at GH but he doesn't know who ordered the hit.
This frustrates Sonny and he takes out his frustration out on Ms. Sneed
when she comes to ask for insurance information and money. Jason calms
Sonny down until Johnny Zacchara walks in. Sonny is unable to control his
temper any longer and he threatens to kill Johnny if he finds out Johnny
is responsible for Kate's injury.
Jason shows up at Carly's house. Carly is happy to see him and tells him
about her pregnancy. Jason has stopped by to ask her about what she may
have seen in the area where Kate was shot, since she was in the same area
with Jax. However, Jason is distracted with trying to find out who hit Sam
with their car and starts grilling Carly about whether she hit Sam with
her car or not. Carly tells him she didn't hit Sam with her car and
wonders why he is questioning her about it. Jason tells her that he is
interested in finding out who hit Sam because the Text Message Killer was
chasing Sam when she got hit. Carly thinks Jason is hiding something but
doesn't say anything else. Jason tells her that he is happy for her but
makes excuses to leave. She tells him that she was in the same area that
Kate was when Kate was shot but that she didn't see anyone or anything and
that she had a fainting spell. Jax had found her laying on the ground.
Carly makes Jason take a picture with her and they talk about being
parents. Carly tells him she wants him to be able to claim his son so that
he can be part of all of their lives. Jason still feels he needs to
protect Jake by staying away from him. Max shows up at Carly's house
looking for Michael. Carly tells him he was supposed to pick Michael up
from school. Max tells her he went to pick Michael up from school, but
Michael never came out to meet him. He tells her he went inside to find
out what happened to him and learned that Michael never showed up for
practice. Jason takes charge and organizes a search for Michael. He tells
Carly not to panic just yet. Michael is hiding out on some ship and keeps
thinking about what Sonny told him before about running as far as he could
if he ever ended up firing a gun.
Jason tells Sonny that Michael is missing. Sonny assumes that the
Zaccara's are behind this. Jason gives Michael's backpack to Sonny. It was
found a few blocks away from where Kate was shot. Sonny thinks this means
the two situations are related. Jason points out that they still need
proof. Sonny doesn't like to hear this and tells him to go get his proof.
Sam is being strangled. She fights off her attacker and falls onto the
couch. She asks him to reveal himself. The Text Message Killer takes off
his mask revealing his identity, it is Diego Alcazar.
Liz comes to Ric's apartment after he called her and told her there was a
medical emergency. Marianna appears in Ric's bathrobe. Both Ric and
Marianna appear bruised and beaten. Liz asks Marianna what Ric did to her.
Marianna defends Ric by telling Liz that Ric saved her-he did not hurt
her. Liz asks Ric for some water and bandages and starts to clean Marianna
up. Liz tells her she may need to see a doctor; Marianna doesn't want any
medical treatment. She comments how nice Liz is to her and says she must
be Elizabeth. When Ric comes back, he and Marianna tell Liz about Randy
holding Marianna captive by blackmailing her with her illegal alien
status. Ric plans to help Marianna become a citizen. He tells Marianna to
go rest in the back bedroom where no one will bother her, and she can take
a bath if she wants. When Marianna leaves, Liz points out that Ric knows a
lot about Marianna but doesn't know the real Ric. He uses this opening to
reveal that Skye gave him the waterfront property. He says it's like
giving a stick of dynamite to the devil. Liz thinks it's worse. He says he
just wants the best for Marianna and to help her. Ric brings up Jason and
Jake's paternity, and Liz becomes defensive.
Carly gets a phone call from Michael. She tries to find out where he is,
but all he does is keep saying that he is sorry and that it is all his
fault. Before Carly can find out more, longshoremen chase Michael away
from his hiding place. An angry, distraught Sonny says he will shoot
Johnny if Claudia does not tell him where Michael is. Both Claudia and
Johnny adamantly deny any knowledge of Michael's whereabouts. After
Johnny leaves, Claudia puts her gun down and tries to rekindle the spark
she had with Sonny when they had their one-night stand. He is not
amenable. He says some very unkind, hurtful things, but Claudia keeps
trying to get to Sonny. Jason comes to Sonny's aid and gets him to leave
the Zaccharas'. Outside, Jason tries to reason with Sonny, who is so
convinced that the Zaccharas are responsible for both Kate's shooting and
Michael's disappearance, that he lets his anger blind his common sense.
When Jason tells him about calls that Jerry Jax received that may indicate
that Lorenzo Alcazar is still alive, he tells Jason to go "chase
ghosts" because he can handle the situation without Jason's help.
Jason goes to Carly's, where he learns that Michael has called. As he is
about to take the cell phone to Spinelli to trace the call, Carly doubles
over with cramps. Jax gets upset that Jason is telling Carly all this
information and obviously upsetting her. Jason decides to leave and stay
out of the mess at Carly and Jax's house. As soon as Jason leaves, Jax
decides it's best to take Carly to the hospital to be checked out. Carly
doesn't think this is necessary, but she goes along with it anyway. When
they get back from getting her checked out, Morgan asks about Michael.
Carly offers some ice cream to Morgan and tells him they will save the
middle of the ice cream for Michael when he gets back. When Morgan goes
upstairs, Carly talks to Jax about her fears with Michael and everything
she's done wrong. Jax does his best to reassure her, but he confides that
he is also scared. Later, Carly and Morgan fall asleep on the couch and
Jax picks up their ice cream bowls.
Liz comes in to check on Epiphany and the two women talk about their
children. Epiphany thinks she hovered over Stan too much. She tells Liz to
go before Epiphany gets too emotional or the staff will never listen to
her again. Liz reminds her that the staff loves her and respects her. They
are all anxiously awaiting the day Epiphany returns to her post to boss
them around. Lucky finds Liz at the hospital and tells her he wants to
spend more time with the boys. This concerns Liz, because she's worried
Lucky will find out she may have been the one who hit Sam. She confides
her fears in Jason, and he reassures her that everything will be allright.
Claudia meets with Jason in Sonny's office. She denies any involvement in
either Kate's shooting or Michael's disappearance. She appeals to Jason's
reason. She has come because she is worried about Johnny. She wants to
know if Sonny has him. Jason acknowledges that it is possible. She offers
a truce. Not good enough, says Jason, because Sonny's son is missing.
Claudia offers to bring down Trevor Lansing. She tells Jason that she can
bring down Trevor without hurting the organization. Jason agrees that
Sonny might be interested. Claudia says that her deal will be on the table
for 20 minutes. She leaves so that Jason can contact Sonny.
Jason contacts Sonny who accuses Jason of being soft. He will not tell
Jason where Johnny is. Sonny is no longer sure that Jason is trustworthy
where Johnny is concerned, because Jason treats Johnny more like a little
brother than a business rival. He tells Jason to find Michael and to find
out who shot Kate. He tells Jason to stick to his priorities. Jason says
that finding his sister's killer is also a priority and he does not need
Sonny to tell him what his priorities are. When Claudia returns, Jason
tells her that Sonny's only priority is finding his son. Claudia wonders
out loud about Sonny and Kate. Perhaps, she muses, it is time for her to
tell Kate about the hot night she spent with Sonny. Things may be a lot
different after she tells, muses Claudia as she exits Sonny's office.
Jason and Sonny got into an argument over the phone. Sonny accused Jason
of taking the side of the enemy by always defending Johnny. Jason asked
Sonny if he had solid proof that the Zaccharas kidnapped Michael? Sonny
didn't like that Jason was questioning his judgment and hung up on him.
Lulu lost her temper and knocked Spinelli's drink and laptop computer on
the floor. She screamed at them for giving her false information about
Logan being the killer. Spinelli tried to defend himself and Maxie by
pointing out that they told her they had only circumstantial evidence on
Logan. Maxie got into Lulu's face and told her that what happened to Logan
was Lulu's fault and not theirs. Lulu made a remark about Maxie's luck
with men, which upset Maxie enough that she slapped Lulu hard across the
face. The two women got into a physical fight. Jason ran out of his office
to help break up the fight. Lulu ran off. Jason sent Maxie out of his
office so he could talk to Spinelli alone. He told Spinelli that Michael
was missing and he needed Spinelli's help. He also said that Alcazar could
still be alive as well. Spinelli got to work while Jason left the office.
He caught Maxie trying to go back into his office, but Nikolas and Nadine
walked in and distracted him. Nikolas told Jason that he went back to
Wyndemere to try to remember who killed Emily. He told Jason that he
finally remembered who killed her-Diego Alcazar. Jason called Max to tell
him to go check on Sam. Jason told Nikolas to let him handle things.
Nikolas refused to let Jason handle things on his own and insisted he be
involved in capturing Diego.
Sam is being strangled. She fights off her attacker and falls onto the
couch. She asks him to reveal himself. The Text Message Killer takes off
his mask revealing his identity, it is Diego Alcazar. Everyone in Port
Charles, believes is dead from a bullet that Sam fired and now he is back
for revenge. Diego takes Sam back to his hideout, she wakes up bound
and gagged. Chloroform and wires sit out in the area. Diego tells her it's
going to be sad to say goodbye to her. He leaves with the bomb, which he
places and activates in an unknown location. Sam breaks her bonds and
escapes through a ventilation duct. After a lengthy crawl through the
ventilation system she finally arrives at an exit. When she lets herself
down, the light come on and Diego is holding a gun on her. She is back
where she started.
Diego puts on his ski mask, gathers several bags and when he opens the
door, Elizabeth is standing there preparing to knock. He grabbed her and
carried her back into Sam's apartment. He used chloroform to knock her
out, placed her in the backseat of the car, and tied her to the door
frame. Max found Diego in the parking garage and pointed a gun at him,
then noticed that Elizabeth was in the backseat. Diego still had his mask
on, so Max couldn't see who he really was. Diego pointed his own gun at
Max and the two men had a shoot-out. Diego shot at Max to cover himself
while he got into the car. The shooting woke Sam up. She had been tied up
and thrown into the trunk, and had duck tape around her mouth. Diego
backed the car up and hit Max with it when Max tried to shoot at his
tires. Max hit his head on the cement wall and was knocked out. He called
Jason on his cell phone and told him what
had happened. Jason, Nikolas, and Nadine showed up at the parking garage
to find Max lying on the ground. Jason searched Sam's apartment for clues.
Alexis leaves a message on Sam's cell phone. She's worried about her. The
message causes the phone to beep. Jason finds the phone and picks it up.
He hears the recording through Sam's phone of Diego threatening Sam. Jason
is shocked that Diego is still alive. He tries to figure out what is going
on in the recording and discovers that Diego took Sam and Liz to Hangman's
Bridge, the same spot where Jason dumped Lorenzo's body. Jason gets back
with Max and tells him to contact Spinelli and make sure he's working on
Michael's disappearance. Max tells him that Sonny has it covered, but
Jason disagrees. Max asks what he should do about Nikolas and Nadine.
Jason tells them someone might come back. They need to stay put.
Elizabeth woke up in the backseat of the car and saw Diego driving with
his mask still on. She asked him who he was? He told her he never sent her
a text message like the others. Elizabeth realized he was the killer and
asked him who he really was. Diego took off his mask and revealed himself.
Elizabeth asked him why he killed Emily? Diego told her that he killed
Emily because Jason killed his father and he wanted to make Jason pay.
Elizabeth grabbed Diego by the head and scratched him in the face. Diego
got angry with her and hit her in the face several times to get her off of
him. Elizabeth realized there were orange warning signs and roadblocks
ahead of them on the bridge and warned Diego to look where he was going.
Diego swerved to avoid the roadblocks and lost control of the car. When it
stopped, the car was hanging dangerously over the side of the bridge.
After the car crashes, both Liz and Diego appear to be knocked out. Liz
wakes up first and tries to reach for the key. Every move she makes causes
the car to slip further. She manages to get the key and gets the handcuffs
off. She tries to get out of the car, but it keeps shifting. She hears Sam
moving around in the trunk and tries to pull the seat open. Diego wakes up
and realizes what is happening. He grabs Liz and they start fighting.
Suddenly, he hears sirens. It's Lucky who has just happened upon the
accident. Lucky called the accident in to the PCPD. Diego points his gun
at Liz and warns her not to scream. Liz ducks down as Lucky approaches the
car. Shots ring out as Liz yells for Lucky.
While Diego struggled to subdue Elizabeth, Jason crept out from behind
Lucky's car. He pulled Lucky to safety and went after Diego. Diego escaped
the car and got away on Jason's motorcycle. Jason had to stay behind to
prevent the car from falling off the bridge into the raging river below.
He climbed on the trunk and kicked in the back window of the car.
Elizabeth climbed out. She rushed over to Lucky and started first aid on
his gunshot wound and he was able to sit up. Sam managed to free herself
and kick in the back seat. As she tried to climb out through the back
window, the car lurched precariously. Jason was thrown backward off the
trunk and knocked out. As Lucky and Elizabeth watched, the car, with Sam
in it, plummeted off the bridge. When Elizabeth checked on Jason, he was
unconscious and had deep bleeding gashes on his hands, which were caused
when he tried to hold onto the car and save Sam. As Elizabeth tended
Jason, Lucky called out frantically for Sam. Lucky hears Sam screaming
from over the ledge and rushes to help. He asks her to trust him and he
pulls her to safety.
Liz cradles Jason while ambulances rush to the scene. The paramedics load
Jason into the ambulance, and Sam tells Mac and Lucky about Diego. Both
Georgie and Leticia were not intended victims of Diego's killings. Instead
of Georgie, Diego was trying to kill Maxie. He was trying to kill Carly
when he killed Leticia. Liz was also in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Mac asks Liz where she was when Diego grabbed her, and she explains she
was in Sam's apartment. Everyone questions why Liz was there in the first
place. Liz is interrupted and never answers the question. Sam is in pain,
so she is transported to the hospital. Mac puts an APB out on Diego. Lucky
offers to help find Diego, but Mac wants him to go to the hospital and get
checked out. At GH, Patrick reviews Jason's injury and tells him his
finger is barely hanging on by a thread. There is nerve damage and if they
don't operate soon, Jason will be lucky to hold even a spoon.
Nikolas started to strangle Diego-until he managed to get free from
Nikolas' grasp. Diego grabbed a line of wire and choked Nikolas until he
passed out. Diego ran out to find Maxie and started to strangle her.
Nikolas ran after Diego. When Nikolas saw Diego choking Maxie, he saw
Emily in Maxie's place. Maxie stabbed Diego with a screwdriver and managed
to get away long enough for Diego to trip over a rope and hang himself.
Patrick prepped Jason for his hand surgery and warned him he might never
work for Sonny again. Liz listened in on their conversation and apologized
to Jason after Patrick left. She felt she had ruined his life when he
saved hers. Jason was heavily sedated during their conversation, so he did
not have very much to say. Liz asked how Jason knew where to find them
after Diego abducted her and Sam. Detective Rodriguez walked in and wanted
to know the same thing. Liz told Detective Rodriguez that Jason couldn't
answer any questions because he would be going to surgery soon. The
detective questioned Liz's actions, but Patrick
stepped in and stopped the questioning by threatening to sue if Jason
didn't get his surgery quickly. Jason offered his help to Rodriguez,
though, by suggesting the police look for Diego at the warehouse where Sam
originally shot Diego. Rodriguez asked Jason if he knew that because of
his excellent intuition, but Jason told him it was just common sense.
Elizabeth checked in on Jason after his hand surgery while he was still
heavily sedated. Carly showed up and accused her of being responsible for
what happened to Jason. Elizabeth tried to reassure her that Jason's
surgery went fine but Carly didn't want to hear it. Epiphany showed up and
asked Elizabeth for her help. Carly tried to dismiss Epiphany, which
didn't go well. Epiphany made it clear to Carly that she wouldn't take any
crap from her. Elizabeth told Carly to give Jason the time and space he
needed to recover without bringing more of her drama into his life, and
suggested she go to Jax, her husband, if she needed anyone. Elizabeth
checked up on Jason again after he was admitted into a different hospital
room. Patrick told her that they repaired 90% of the damage to his hands
and that he was expected to have rehabilitation to help him. She told a
sleeping Jason that she would do anything for him and kissed him on the
forehead. Later, Elizabeth brought Jake over to see Jason while he was
sleeping. Patrick saw her leave Jason's room with Jake in her arms.
Liz saw Patrick outside Jason's room and told her Jason needed rest. He
saw her bring Jake to see Jason. Patrick asked her what Lucky would say
about Jason seeing Jake. He immediately apologized for butting in, but Liz
admitted that Lucky probably wouldn't have iked Jason and Jake seeing each
other. Patrick told Liz he usually didn't get involved in his patients'
business, but he was about to become a father. Patrick told her about
confronting Robin and how she didn't deny that he was the baby's father.
Liz said she had tried to convince Robin to tell Patrick earlier because
the truth had a way of coming out. Liz questioned Patrick if he had hoped
Robin would tell him he was not the father. Patrick was not sure what he
wanted. He loved the baby's mother, though, and maybe a miracle would
happen. Patrick and Liz hugged before Robin walked in on them. Liz told
Robin she needed to get back to work and they needed to talk anyway.
