Jason & Liz #9  October 4th - December 10, 2007 - 8 hour original edit

Carly tells Jason about how she learned that Lulu was text messaging Johnny so she got a hold of his cell-phone number and text messaged him herself, pretending to be Lulu to get him to meet with her. Jason doesn't like where this is going and asked her why she would do something so dangerous like meet with Johnny in the park without protection. Carly defends her actions and tells him that she just wanted to ask him some questions about the night he met Lulu and if it was the first time he was in Port Charles. She tells Jason that she believed Johnny when he told her he just arrived in Port Charles for the first time when he picked up Lulu off the highway. Jason asks Carly to stay out of it and not to make things worse.

Liz tells Emily about the house and how the kids will love the backyard. Emily is happy that her friend is thinking so positively about her future. Liz is just happy to get past the divorce. Liz is uncomfortable with Alexis being Lucky's attorney, since he is sleeping with her daughter. Epiphany approaches them and realizes they are talking about divorce. Liz asks for advice, and Epiphany tells her to develop a tough hide. She will need it. Liz says they are trying to make things easy. The only issues are visitation and custody, and she thinks it's best to leave that to the lawyers. Epiphany tells her that sometimes when you make a mess and want someone else to clean it up; it becomes an even bigger mess. Robin goes to the desk and Liz asks her if she's glad to be off the night shift. She says, "Let me count the ways."  In the locker room, Liz tells Emily that she has to pick up the kids and then go see Diane. Emily hopes she didn't overstep and Liz assures her that she didn't. They decide to plan a girl's night out.

Diane and Alexis talk while they wait for their clients to show up. They both compliment each other. Liz shows up and Alexis tells her that Diane is going to pump her up with false hope. Sign the papers that Alexis is drawing up or she will regret it. When Lucky arrives, Diane is telling them that it is unacceptable to try to intimidate her client. Alexis says she's just trying to be courteous to Liz. Diane says she will do the same, and she proceeds to tell Lucky to sign her papers or he will be paying for the next 18 years and only able to see the boys on Thanksgiving and every Tuesday of every fourth month. Alexis says that is unacceptable, and she tells Lucky that they can take Diane. Diane tells her to bring it. Elizabeth and Lucky's divorce grows uglier by the minute as Diane and Alexis prepare to go to any lengths necessary to get what they want for their clients. Lucky threatens to file for sole custody of Jake unless Elizabeth gives into his demands.  Lucky and Elizabeth trade threats as their divorce war escalates.

Carly shows up at Jason's penthouse and pushes back the guard insisting she is a friend of Jason's. Jason calls off his guard and lets her inside. She shows him the text message she just got awhile ago and is about to show him the pictures someone printed and sent to the set of "Everyday Heroes" to air on television. Jason tells her to calm down and explain what she is talking about. She tells him that someone hacked into her cell phone and took pictures of her fooling around with Jax on the couch with her own phone camera and sent them to the television studio. Jason tells her he doesn't want to see the photos and asks her who she thinks would do that. Carly tells him she thinks that whoever killed Leticia sent the text message and took the pictures to send. Carly insists that she and Jason team up to find out who Leticia's killer is and stop him. Jason tells her to stay out it. He gets upset with her when she tells him about how she had a plan in place with getting close to Trevor to get information and how Sonny ruined it by showing up and telling Trevor what she was planning to do. Jason defends Sonny's actions and tells her to let him handle it since she will end up doing something stupid and get herself hurt or worse, killed. Carly leaves for awhile but returns to Jason's place to see him. Jason returns to the penthouse with Johnny Zacchara. He isn't happy to see Carly there and tells her to leave. Carly refuses to leave and confronts Johnny about what he is up to. Jason is annoyed that Carly showed up while he is talking to Johnny. Carly tries asking Johnny questions about the pictures that were taken of her and Jax. He tells her she is crazy. Jason finally gets Carly to leave, but they are only left alone briefly before Lulu shows up. She just left Logan's place after telling him that she really was going to give him a second chance. When she sees Johnny, she tells him that he must have done something to deserve being dragged here by Jason. She leaves and Johnny tells Jason that if he isn't released soon people are going to start getting hurt.

Johnny admits to Jason that he keeps returning to Port Charles because of Lulu. Trevor warns Sonny that he's making a big mistake by trying to use Johnny as a bargaining chip with Zacchara. Though Sonny still believes Johnny is the key to getting at Zacchara, he orders Jason to let him go. Later, Trevor hears Zacchara raging at his son and cautions Johnny that disobeying his father could cause innocent people to die.

Emily goes over to Liz's new house to help with moving in. Liz thanks her for finding the house for her. Emily is thankful for the distraction from Nikolas' problems, and she knew that Liz did not want to stay with her grandmother for too long. Liz agrees and says that she wants her independence. She's hoping that after the divorce, she and Lucky can make things right for the boys. Diane shows up and comments how cheerful the two women look. Liz asks how her meeting went with Alexis, and Diane tells her she will be tearing Alexis to bits. Liz will be getting everything she deserves. Meanwhile, Alexis also meets with Lucky and tells him that he needs to file for emergency guardianship for Jake. Lucky hesitates, but Alexis assures him that it is only temporary. It will show Liz is insensitive to compromise. He agrees and signs the papers.

Diane talks to Elizabeth at her home with Emily present there. Diane advises Elizabeth to beware of Alexis and what she will try to get Lucky to do to win custody of the baby. Elizabeth tells Diane that she doesn't want to prolong this custody battle for very long and all she wants is full custody of her sons and that she wants Lucky to be able to see his sons anytime he wants to. Diane tells her that Alexis is going to advise Lucky to fight for his rights and go for full custody and that she should be prepared for that. Emily thinks that Diane is being very combative and tells her so. Diane tells them that they are trying to do what is best for Elizabeth's sons but that they can't negotiate until after Lucky files a motion and then they can work from there. A car horn beeps outside which alerts Elizabeth that her grandmother is outside to drop off the rest of her things. She asks Emily to go out and get her things from her grandmother's car for her. Emily leaves to go do that. While she is gone, Diane tells Elizabeth that she has one other option in this whole thing, tell the court that Lucky isn't the biological father of Jake. Elizabeth refuses to do that since it would hurt Lucky very much and she wants Lucky to be part of her sons' lives. Emily returns with the rest of Elizabeth's things. Diane gets a phone call from her cell phone and answers it. She gets off of the phone quickly and tells Elizabeth and Emily that she just got news that Alexis just filed for emergency custody on Lucky's behalf a little while ago. Elizabeth is stunned by this new turn of events. She asks Emily why Lucky would do such a thing. Diane tells her she is going to find out about it and will be right back. Emily and Elizabeth share a glass of wine and discuss it. Emily thinks that Lucky is still hurt about the divorce and everything and that he will eventually calm down and agree to let her have full custody.

Lucky shows up at Elizabeth's new house to talk to her alone without the lawyers. Elizabeth asks him why he asked for emergency temporary custody and that he is accusing her of being a bad mother. Lucky doesn't want to take Jake away from her but feels she is leaving him no choice sometimes. Alexis shows up when she finds out Lucky came to see Elizabeth without her presence. Diane shows up also and thinks that Alexis is trying to talk to her client, Elizabeth without her presence. The two attorneys start arguing in front of Lucky and Elizabeth as if they aren't in the room. Elizabeth yells at them to be quiet and stop arguing and makes it clear that she will not let anyone take her son away from her.

Jason asks Spinelli to keep looking for Johnny Zacchara and find out where he went. Kate shows up at Jason's penthouse to talk to him about her concerns for Sonny. Jason asks her to stay out of Sonny's business and let them handle things before she gets hurt. Kate tells Jason about how she is worried that Sonny is trying to find out where Anthony Zacchara lives and plans to go see him in person and that the last two men who paid Anthony a visit winded up dead. Jason tells her to try and stay out of it. Kate starts talking to him about something and stops herself as she remembers something. She starts to dismiss the memory as being irrelevant but Jason encourages her to tell him what she just remembered. Kate tells that she went to some place with Trevor one time a couple of years ago that was near a stream somewhere and that the house looked like a medieval castle set up with a big stone wall around it and how she took out her camera to take a picture of it but that Trevor firmly told her to put the camera away and not to take pictures of the place. She tells Jason that Trevor brought her inside and made her wait in one of the rooms while he paid his respects to one of his clients, whom he didn't name. She tells Jason that the man he visited may have been Anthony Zacchara.

Spinelli hacks into the surveillance files of the transportation department and finds where Johnny was last seen driving and that the image he got on the surveillance satellite shows a blonde person sitting in the passenger seat. They guess that it is probably Lulu in the car with them and find out they were last seen driving up to a driveway. Jason takes off to go find Johnny and Lulu. Johnny returns to the same cabin he broke into earlier and finds Jason sitting there waiting for him. Jason demands to know where Lulu is. Johnny doesn't know where she went. Johnny admits to Jason that there's a good chance his handlers grabbed Lulu. Jason lets Johnny go so he can return home before any harm comes to Lulu. Jason arrives back withTrevor who complains, "These drive by kidnappings are becoming tedious." He is held for leverage when Sonny sets off on his mission. Trevor freaks when Jason tells him Sonny is heading to face Zacchara in person. He tells him to go ahead and make Zaccara angry and the resulting bloodshed will be on him. When Sonny arrives and insists on seeing Zacchara, Johnny warns Sonny that he might not like the result.

The judge denies Lucky's appeal for temporary custody and in light of his drug addiction his visitations have been suspended until final custody is decided. Liz is shocked as this wasn't what she wanted for her children. She insists on speaking to Lucky alone despite Alexis and Diane vehemently advising against it. When alone, Liz asks if Lucky would have really taken her children away from her? He admits that yes he would have and she is hurt and shocked by his admission. He tries to explain that he was afraid of losing his children. Liz coldly suggests that she has to get to work and that they shouldn't talk until mediation.

Sonny finally comes face to face with Anthony Zacchara and is startled to realize the man is crazy.  Anthony roars at Sonny, threatening to kill everyone he loves while he's forced to watch them die in agony then calmy turns back to gardening. A rattled Sonny tells Jason that Zacchara is certifiably insane and that Trevor is the one who's really calling the shots. At the hospital, Elizabeth tells an agitated Patrick she doesn't care if her estranged husband becomes a sperm donor for Robin. Patrick again gets nowhere trying to convince Elizabeth to oppose the idea. Jason and Carly speculate that Zacchara himself might have killed Leticia but Jason demands that Carly abandon any and all ideas of pursuing that theory on her own. When one of Sonny's warehouses is bombed, Sonny and Jason jump to the conclusion that it is retaliation from Trevor.

Liz talks to Emily about the future divorce. She tells Emily how Lucky would have taken Jake away from her if the judge would have allowed it. Emily is shocked, but she tells Liz that Lucky didn't realize for as long as she did that their marriage was over. He's still devastated. For all the times he has helped Liz, maybe she can help him this time. Liz, Lucky, Diane, Alexis, and a mediator are all in the litigation room to mediate the custody battle. Diane brings up that Lucky is not Cameron's father, and Lucky's history of drugs makes him a danger to Jake. Alexis brings up that Liz and the criminal company she keeps is the real danger. Diane mentions Lucky's affair with Sam and asks him where he slept last night. Liz decides enough is enough and tells everyone to stop. This isn't what either of them wants. After court, Lucky stops by Liz's place and thanks her for what she did during mediation. She says she hopes they can find a way to be friends. He tells her he will always be her friend, no matter what happens.

Jason is trying desperately to get Spinelli to focus on the fire footage and look at the cameras. Spinelli is trying to talk to him about Lulu. Jason says he's not getting involved with Lulu's love life. Lulu walks in and hears this and is relieved. Jason tells her he doesn't care who she goes out with, but a war is about to start. She might want to think about moving out. Spinelli objects and is upset with Jason for sending Lulu away. After she leaves, Spinelli tells Jason that he wishes Lulu would see him as a more manly man and maybe she would respect him more. They are still going back and forth about Lulu when Robin knocks on the door. She is there to talk to Spinelli, and he thinks she needs computer help. Jason is shocked when Robin reveals that she wants Spinelli to father her child. Spinelli questions how they are going to get the job done and she explains that he would go to the hospital and leave donations. Spinelli leaves to think about and get more information. When he comes back, he tells Jason and Robin that he knows what is involved now and he would love to do it. Robin looks worried, but Jason is speechless.

Spinelli tells Jason that he will be able to prove his manhood now that he has agreed to provide his sperm for Robin to have a baby by going to the hospital today. Jason warns him about going through with the procedure. Lulu comes downstairs after spending the night there and overhears their conversation. She asks Spinelli to explain to her what they are talking about. Spinelli tells her that Robin asked him to father her baby for her by providing his sperm at the hospital. Lulu doesn't exactly think it is a great idea either and tells him that she wishes not to discuss it further for her own personal reasons and leaves the penthouse. Spinelli talks to Jason about why Lulu reacted the way she did. Jason tells him that he thinks he won't be able to stay away from his own child once it is born and he sees him or her for the first time. Spinelli thinks he will be able to walk away when it happens and that his situation isn't like Jason's with his son.  Later, Spinelli calls Jason on his cell phone and is freaking out at the hospital and asks him to come to the hospital ASAP. Jason shows up as soon as he can. Spinelli tells him he can't "perform" under this much pressure and needs Jason to do it for him.

Jason returns home with Max after they look over the damage at the warehouse. Jason and Max don't understand why there was only minor damage from the explosion and nothing else was harmed if Trevor or Zacchara were behind it. Later, Carly gets an invitation for the Black and White Ball that Nikolas and Emily are having at Wyndemere on Halloween. Just as she is reading the invitation she gets a text message on her cell phone and looks at it. The text message says "I'll see you at the ball." Carly looks around, feeling as if she is being watched.

Sam shows up at the hospital and sees Elizabeth at the nurses' station. She approaches and acts all business at first about how she needs to see someone about getting the stitches in her leg taken out. Elizabeth dismisses her and tells her to go and wait in the waiting area and she will have someone see her soon. Sam isn't pleased about Elizabeth's attitude toward her since she is a patient and she is a nurse. Elizabeth tries to ignore her but can't and tells Sam off for using Lucky. Sam tells her that she cares about Lucky and asks her why she cares what Lucky does since she doesn't care about him anymore. They get into it and Nikolas steps in and tells Sam to back off and leave Elizabeth alone. Sam resents him for taking Elizabeth's side over his own cousin. Emily goes to see Jason at the penthouse and invites him to the ball. She tells him she won't make him dance with her. Jason asks her about Nikolas and what is happening with him. She tells him that he had some tests done at the hospital and they are waiting to hear from Patrick about all the results. She changes the subject to Elizabeth and tries to get him to consider how happy he would be if he saw Elizabeth and spent time with her now that she is getting a divorce. Jason tells her that he is happy that Elizabeth has a new home. Emily tells him that Elizabeth would be a whole lot happier if he was part of her life.

Spinelli changes his mind and tells Jason that he can't donate to Robin's cause. His love for Lulu paralyzed him. Jason doesn't want to hear anymore, but Robin overhears Spinelli asking Jason if he will take his place as Robin's donor. He thinks Robin would be a great mom, and the two of them have a history together. Robin interrupts them and thanks Spinelli for his effort. She tells him he doesn't have to find a replacement, though. It's ridiculous to think that Jason would father her child. Jason disagrees. With the past they had together, it's not that ridiculous. Patrick overhears the conversation about how Jason and Robin would make great parents. Robin knows that Jason couldn't father a child and not be a part of its life, though. He agrees that it would be torture to watch his child growing up in the distance. At home, Jason and Spinelli discuss Robin and her desire to have a child. Jason hopes everything works out for Robin, but she doesn't realize what it's like for a man to know he's a father. She has accomplished all sorts of things in life, and now she wants a child. Jason wishes he could help her, but it's bad enough with him missing Jake all the time.

When Lulu gets home, Jason is mad that she risked going to see Johnny. He tells her she has to follow the rules or a mob war will be started and a lot of people will die. Spinelli and Lulu talk about the ball, but Jason puts his foot down and says that they won't be going. At the airport, Sonny makes a call to Bernie, who just got off his flight. As he's walking to the car, there is an explosion. Trevor is told that the limo exploded and their victim is dead.

Jason learns about the attempt to take out Sonny, but keeps the news to himself.  Jason figures out that Carly is up to something when she insists that he accompany her to the ball. When Elizabeth inadvertently provokes Nikolas into a fit of rage, Emily has to step in. Liz latercomes upon the deranged Zacchara spies on Lulu at Kelly's. He is about to pull out his gun on Lulu when Liz asks him if she can help him. He pretends that he thinks Lulu is the daughter of someone he knows. He thanks her for saving him for embarrassing himself and asks her name? After he walks away, she looks at him puzzled. Elizabeth comes clean with Lulu, and the two women mend fences. As the day of the Black and White Ball approaches, Zacchara spies on Nik and Emily at Wyndemere.

October 31st - Wyndemere  5:00 AM  Nikolas says, "People say that I love you more than life. I never knew what that meant until tonight. Would you die for love?" Next, Nikolas is shown lying on the ground with a bloody hand. He opens his eyes and looks around. He sees a mask on the ground and screams, "NO!!!"

11 hours earlier:  At the pier, Jason approaches Spinelli and asks him what's wrong. Spinelli is very freaked out and thinks he can't do anything without Jason's assistance and guidance. Jason reassures him that everything will be fine. He can't go to the ball, because he's got other stuff going on right now. Nadine walks down the steps towards the pier and compliments Spinelli by telling him he looks dashing. That's all Spinelli needed to boost his confidence. Spinelli introduces Jason and Nadine before Nadine and Spinelli head towards the launch.

At Wyndemere, Lucky asks Liz to dance, for old time's sake. Sam watches them from the shadows. They finish dancing and she says this was how they were supposed to end. They went full circle. They started dancing in the courtyard at Wyndemere, and that's where they are ending. Lucky leaves without seeing Sam. Sam comes out and tells Liz that she just played Lucky like a real pro. The two girls continue yelling at each other over Jake being Jason's child and Sam's inability to deal with it. Liz slaps Sam, and Sam returns with a punch. They start yelling and screaming while they fight until Lucky comes out and breaks them up. He asks what they were fighting about, and Sam tells Liz to come clean. One of Trevor's goons talks on the phone and says they need to find Mr. Zacchara and bring him home. Jason comes from behind and puts a gun to his head. He wants information on Anthony Zacchara. The man tells Jason that Anthony is in Port Charles and the men that were supposed to go after him are now dead. Anthony killed them. He will kill anyone who stands in his way. Jason wants to know what Anthony wants.

November 1st - Sam and Elizabeth  brawl out on the terrace. Lucky gets between the two women who trade insults at each other. Emily comes out to see what the commotion is. Lucky takes Sam's side in the fight after Elizabeth calls Sam a lying slut. Sam hints to Lucky that Elizabeth is the liar and that they are the victims in all this since Jason and Elizabeth betrayed them both. Emily takes Elizabeth's side and yells at Lucky for not appreciating the fact that Elizabeth stuck up for him in the mediation the other day. Nikolas shows up and surprises everyone when he gets in Emily's face and yells at her for how she was talking about his brother. Emily realizes he is having one of his episodes again and backs down and takes Elizabeth over to one of the bedrooms to help her fix her hair and her torn dress strap.

Sam apologizes to Nikolas for what happened with Elizabeth and fills him in on what he did when he yelled at Emily for yelling at Lucky. Nikolas doesn't remember this episode like he doesn't remember any of his other psychotic episodes and thinks he is getting worse.  Nikolas apologizes to Elizabeth and Emily later on after Emily fixes Elizabeth's dress and hair and tells her about how Nikolas has gotten some tests done at the hospital to find out about what is causing his violent episodes. Nikolas isn't sure he likes the idea of Elizabeth knowing about his problems but they point out to him that he should tell Lucky about them also.

Diane is in Sonny's office talking on the phone when Jason finds her. He asks her if she heard from Sonny at all. She tells him she hasn't but seems very much on edge. She ends up spilling her guts about her conversation with Carly even though it goes against attorney-client privilege in most cases. She tells him that Carly got some more text-messages which led her to believe that Leticia's killer is going to be at the ball and wants to meet her there. She warns Jason that Carly brought a gun with her. Carly shows up in the living room to meet the killer with her gun and hides. Cooper heads to the living room to talk privately on his phone and finds Carly there. Carly points her gun at him, thinking he is Leticia's killer. Alexis comes into one of the rooms and starts to scream when she finds Ric, who has been stabbed by a sword. Johnny and Lulu come in and Lulu offers to go get help.

November 2nd - Wyndemere 9 hours earlier: Sam goes off to try and find the generator. Lucky offers to help, but she tells him it's not necessary. He asks what is bothering her, and she tells him that she doesn't like the way Liz treats him. Liz interrupts them and needs to talk to Lucky. When they are alone, she tells him about Nikolas' rage and his outbursts. Liz goes off to try and find some flashlights. While she's wandering around Wyndemere alone, Anthony follows her.  Jason asks Max if the boat is ready. Max tells him that the coast guard has shut down the harbor, but Jason doesn't care. Carly has a gun and she's either going to hurt someone or she's going to hurt herself. He needs a boat to be able to get to the island right away. Later, Jason is speeding towards the island in the boat not realizing the boat has a bomb on it that is quickly counting down.

Carly holds a gun on Coop. She wants to know why he killed Leticia. She tells him that she got a text message from the killer asking her to meet here and here he shows up. He says he was working a text message he got while he was at the station. She doesn't believe him. Maxie comes in and asks what is going on. She tells Carly that there's no way Coop killed Leticia. Carly wants to know why she has such faith in Coop. Maxie says she has faith in Coop because she knows who he really is. She walks over and stands in front of him and says if he's really guilty then he can use her as a hostage to escape. Jax finds Carly in the study with a gun on Coop and Maxie. He gets the gun away from her and asks her what she was doing. He tells her that there was a killer there tonight, but it wasn't Coop. He tells her about Ric being stabbed. Carly tells him about the text messages she's been receiving from the killer. He asks if that's why she wanted Jason there so badly. She says yes. And she still wishes he was there.

November 5th - 8 hours earlier: 9 PM: A voice says, "When you're alone in the dark, you never know who will be coming for you or why." Liz opens the closet door and a body falls out with a knife in the back. She hears someone coming and takes the knife out of the dead body and hides behind the door. Coop opens the door, but closes it again and leaves. He walks by some candles and swords on the wall. When Coop is gone, Liz leaves the room and rushes past the wall of candles and swords. One sword is missing. The bomb on the boat is at 35 seconds and quickly counting down. Jason notices something flapping in the wind. When he reaches down to touch it, he realizes it is a bomb. It is at 5 seconds, then the bomb explodes.

Johnny tells Logan that he's not the type to pin a man to the wall. Logan says he knows that what happened to Ric was the job of a whack-o like him. Johnny says he's not the whack job. His father is, and if he doesn't stop him, more people will die. Logan tells him he's not going anywhere except back to the ballroom. Johnny punches Logan and manages to get away. He finds Liz walking around and grabs her. She gasps, but he tells her he's not going to hurt her. She tells him to get away from her, but Johnny tells her she shouldn't be wandering around here alone. She thinks he could be the one that killed the man in the closet. She tells him about what happened. He tells her she's right. She doesn't know him, but she needs to get to the ballroom right away.

Sam pulls Emily aside after seeing Anthony again and him waving at her. She tells Emily that they need to talk. Emily says that if it's about Lucky or Liz, she's not interested. Sam tells her she just wants to know about a person running around Wyndemere. Does she recognize the person in the corner? Emily doesn't see anyone. Anthony is gone.  Someone grabs Liz as she walks back into the room of the murdered man. She struggles until she turns around and sees that it's Jason.

November 6th - Wyndemere 7 hours earlier: 10 PM "There are two choices when you are scared. One, you hide. Two, you stay and fight."  Jason asks Liz what she's doing running around the dark house. She tells him about looking for flashlights and how she got disoriented in the dark house. She tells him about the body she found. Jason knows that Anthony Zacchara is up to no good. He tells her he needs to keep her safe and have the element of surprise on his side when he sneaks up on Anthony. They hold hands and run to the barn. She holds his gun while he looks around to make sure they are safe. When he looks at her in the light he asks her what happened to her face. Who hit her? She tells him about her fight with Sam. Jason says that when this is all over, he will deal with Sam. Liz warns him that Sam is going to tell Lucky about Jake. It's the only thing she has left to hurt them with. Jason decides he needs to teach Liz how to shoot so she can protect herself. He warns her that if anyone comes at her, shoot them three times in the chest and run the other way. Don't try to talk to Zacchara. He kisses her and leaves. She locks the door. When she hears knocking on the door later, she takes aim.

Spinelli and Nadine roam the halls with swords. A man sneaks up on Nadine and she almost hits him with her sword. It's Jason. Spinelli is relieved. He tells Jason about what happened and that Anthony is chasing them. Jason says he probably got bored chasing the two of them and found another target.

November 7th - 6 hours earlier: 12 AM "We all have limits, lines we know we won't cross until we do."
Jason, Spinelli and Nadine all make it back to the barn where Liz is waiting. Spinelli wants to help Jason, but as usual, Jason wants to work alone. When Jason leaves the barn, Spinelli is depressed and calls himself a wimp. Nadine points out that he saved her from Anthony. Just because he doesn't carry a gun doesn't mean he's a wimp. Liz agrees with her. They are stopped from continuing their conversation when they hear a noise outside. Spinelli decides to check outside and when they finally open the door, they discover a man who barely has a pulse. They take him inside the barn to try and help him.

Jason surprises them Johnny and Lulu. He tells them this is the wrong time to be fighting. They could be killed. They didn't even notice him approaching them. Lulu is surprised to see Jason. Johnny wants Jason to take Lulu out of there. He wants to take care of his father. Jason says it's too late to save Anthony. Johnny says he's not going to save him; he's going to kill him.

November 8th - Five Hours Earlier Lulu wants to help Johnny find his father and thinks she can be bait for him since Anthony wanted to kill her because he thought she was Johnny's new girlfriend. Jason agrees with Johnny that Lulu should not make herself a target for Anthony but thinks that Johnny is going after his father to protect him and so they aren't exactly on the same side. Johnny tells Jason that he isn't going after his father to protect him but to kill him himself. Jason grabs Lulu's arm as she starts to argue with him about making her own choices and Johnny reluctantly follows them.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth, Paige, and Spinelli find one of Zacchara's men laying wounded on the ground outside the barn and drag his body inside. Elizabeth and Paige try to tend to his gunshot wounds and ask him who he is and why he is there. The man manages to say one word, "Zacchara" before he dies. Paige ends up talking about her sister Jolene, and how she ended up being someone she wouldn't recognize now since she was such a good and kind sister to her. Elizabeth explains about her own life experiences lately and how you can find yourself doing things you never thought you would do and end up being more surprised about yourself than anyone else. Soon after that Jason shows up at the barn with Lulu and Johnny. He puts Spinelli in charge of protecting Lulu and everyone and to make sure Lulu stays there and doesn't try to leave. They tell Jason about the dead gunmen and what he said. Elizabeth hugs Jason when she sees him with Lulu. Jason hugs her back but then pulls away to take care of business. Lulu starts to protest what Jason is doing by making her stay there but Jason ignores her and leaves with Johnny. Lulu tries to use her charm to persuade Spinelli to go with her to find Anthony. Elizabeth and Paige try to reason with Lulu about staying there with them and letting Jason handle things. Lulu ignores them and tries to get Spinelli to let her go. Spinelli tells her he has follow Jason's orders and can't let her go. Lulu walks past him and tries to walk out of the barn. Spinelli hits her over the head with the butt of the gun and knocks her unconscious. He feels really bad about it but tells her while she is laying unconscious that he had no choice but to keep her from getting hurt. He brings her to another room and sits her down in a chair.

Later, Paige makes a comment to Elizabeth when they are alone about Jason being her "guy" who is a professional who she is sure can keep them safe. Elizabeth corrects her about Jason being her guy and that what she saw isn't what she thinks and asks her to act like she never saw her hug Jason earlier.

Carly wonders around and comes face to face with one of the gunmen looking for Zacchara. The gunman aims his gun at Carly. One of the other gunmen joins him which distracts the gunman enough to allow Carly to duck away behind one of the pillars. Jason shows up to protect her and Sam also shows up as well with a gun of her own. Jason and Sam look at each other and Sam nods her head to let him know she is ready to cover for him while he shoots at the men. They both end up shooting the gunmen as Carly watches them. After they take care of the gunmen, Jason asks Carly if she is okay. She tells him she is fine and asks him if he is okay. Sam feels unappreciated by them for helping them and lets them know it. Carly accuses Sam of wanting a pat on the back from Jason, hoping he will forgive her because she helped them. Jason tells Carly that Sam already knows why he will never be able to forgive her.

November 9th - Four Hours Earlier  Following Jason's rejection, and feeling that he put Elizabeth's safety first, a spiteful Sam wants vengeance. Lucky and Sam make their way to the stables to join the others, including Elizabeth. Sam snarls at Jason for making sure Elizabeth was safe before he helped anyone else. Elizabeth awkwardly asks Nadine not to mention to anyone how she rushed into Jason's arms when he first returned to the stable. Carly cautions Jason that Sam is out for payback. During yet another shouting match with Elizabeth, Sam threatens to spill the beans to Lucky.

November 12th - 3 hours earlier: 2 AM "Some things are too important to lie about."  Sam yells at Liz about lying to Lucky. Jason comes in and tells her she needs to stop. Lucky tells Jason to stop ordering Sam around. Sam tells Lucky not to bother defending Liz. She'll never admit that what she did was wrong. Lucky wants to know what's going on. Jason tells him it's not Sam's place to say. He is Jake's father, not Lucky. Lucky is in denial at first and wants a paternity test done. He calls Liz a lying whore. When Jason grabs Lucky's shoulder, Lucky punches Jason and threatens to kill him. Jason tells him he's not going to kill anyone. The four continue to bicker and place blame on each other. Liz tries to explain herself, but Lucky and Sam keep berating her. Lucky and Sam storm off, and Liz asks Jason why he had to reveal the truth tonight while a killer was on the loose. Jason says he couldn't keep his son a secret any longer. Meanwhile, Sam tries to calm Lucky down. Lucky doesn't know what to do. He's bonded with Jake, and he doesn't know how he should handle the situation now. He realizes now that Sam was trying to tell him the truth. She apologizes that she didn't tell him sooner. She's known since the day after Jake was born.

November 13th - 2 hours earlier: 3 AM Robin: "Love is messy and complicated. When you're sure it's over, love saves your life.
Liz tells Jason that he had every right to tell Lucky the truth, but she was just afraid of what he would do. That's why she didn't tell him about Sam and the kidnapping. She tells him that sometimes she thinks she loved him from the very start. He tells her that he still remembers her that night in the bar. She was so sad and angry. He had no idea that he would fall in love with her someday and she would be the mother of his child. They hug. She asks where they go from here, and he says it will be her decision. She tells him she will let him know when she figures it out. Spinelli and the girls come out and tell Jason about Spinelli knocking Lulu out. There's a knock at the door. It's Johnny. He comes in and tells Lulu to sit tight. By now his father has probably forgotten all about her. Jason and Johnny leave together, while Spinelli stays behind with the girls.

Emily enters the ballroom and sees someone. She thinks its Nikolas. Thunder booms and lightening flashes. She sees a mask and hears a noise. It turns out to be Jason. She asks him how he got there. He tells her about the speed boat and asks why she is alone. She tells him she is looking for Nikolas. He is getting worse. She locked him in the cellar, but he's not there anymore. Jason wants her to go to the stables, but she won't leave Nikolas. He wants her to be reasonable. He will take her to the stables and then come back to look for Nikolas. He tries to grab her to take her with him, but Nikolas comes up from behind and slams Jason down on the table. He tells Jason to get his hands off of her. Emily yells at Nikolas to stop.

Liz asks to speak with Spinelli alone and tells him about Jason revealing the truth to Lucky about Jake. She wants him to know, because he is one of Jason's closest friends and he may need someone. Spinelli tells her that she needs to tell Jason if she wants to be with him. He's too reluctant to ask for anything. She doesn't want to cause any more pain to Lucky by jumping into a relationship with Jason. Spinelli asks her if she thinks it will be possible to raise Jake without Jason in the picture.

November 14th - 1 hour earlier: 4 AM  Nikolas: "You can love someone forever, yet lose them in a heartbeat."
Jason knocks Emily off of him and starts to beat Nikolas. Emily tells him to stop. Nikolas is having another black out and it will pass soon. Jason decides to tie him to the chair. He wants to get Emily out of there, but she won't leave without Nikolas. Emily wakes up and is horrified when he learns what he did to Emily and Jason. He pleads with Jason to take Emily away so he can't hurt her again. He promises Emily that as soon as this is over, he will get help and then they will get married. They kiss and Emily leaves with Jason. As Nikolas sits tied to the chair, he hears someone enter and asks Jason if he's made sure Emily is safe. Anthony starts to strangle him, but suddenly stops. He tells Nikolas he's not much of a host. He shouldn't have invited him, but Nikolas asks who would have provided the entertainment. He asks who tied him up and implies that he has Emily. Lucky comes in and pulls a gun on Anthony. Nikolas tells him not to shoot, because he has Emily. Sam tells Nikolas that Anthony is just trying to mess with his head. Anthony escapes and Lucky tries to chase after him. Lucky comes back and asks Nikolas if he's ok, but he says not until he knows that Emily is safe. They untie him and he runs off. They quickly follow him, but Sam and Lucky get distracted and before they know it, Nikolas is gone.

Lucky and Sam go back to the barn. Lucky thinks that Sam should stay there to guard the others. Liz doesn't think this is a good idea. She mentions how Sam needs to tell the truth to Lucky about that day in the park when she saved Liz and the boys. Lucky finally agrees that Sam should not stay there either, but he tells Liz that by sending Sam away it doesn't make any of this less of her fault. Jason and Emily go to the stables shortly after Sam and Lucky leave. Jason assures Emily everything will be okay. She takes solace in him saying that, and he leaves. Emily explains to Liz what happened with Nikolas and how she is worried about him being alone. Liz tries to distract her by explaining that Lucky found out that Jake is Jason's child. Emily is not surprised. She knew all along, but realized that Liz didn't want anyone to know. Emily is surprised when she hears what Sam orchestrated in the park. She asks how she could do that, and Liz says that Sam lost the man she loved and he had a child with her. Heartbreak does things to people. She says she can't tell Lucky right now because he's in enough pain already. She asks Emily if she's mad at her, but Emily says no. Emily says she has to go be with the man she loves. Liz offers to go with her, but Emily says no. This is her risk to take. Before she leaves, Emily asks Liz if she will be her maid of honor and she agrees.

Jason goes back to the room where he left Nikolas and finds Johnny. He explains that his father is not the only one who is a danger. Nikolas is out of control. They agree to each check separate areas of the house and leave. When they leave, Nikolas comes out of hiding. He picks up a mask, but has to hide again when Robin, Leyla, and Patrick come in searching for pain medication. They find some and quickly leave again. Emily runs into the ballroom and finds Nikolas. They are happy to see each other, but Nikolas tells her she needs to stay away from him. He starts yelling at her, and suddenly you can hear her choking.

November 15th - December 10, 2007  Nikolas comes to after passing out. He wakes up to find Emily lying on the floor with a noose around her neck. He starts to scream when he sees her. He goes over to her and tries to see if he can resuscitate her but it appears he is too late and Emily is dead. Meanwhile, Jason finds Carly, Jax, and Jerry in the main atrium and yells at Carly for running off the way she did. She explains to him about what happened to Jax and Jerry on the boat. Jax tells Jason that they managed to get Alexis to the hospital but ran into problems on the way back during the storm. Suddenly, they hear a scream coming from the other room. They find Nikolas sitting on the floor, cradling Emily in his arms and appearing to be in shock. Jason tries to get Nikolas to move away so he can check on Emily but Nikolas refuses to let go of her and rambles on incoherently about how she is just resting and will be okay. Carly tries to talk to him but he can't tell her anything about what happened to Emily.

Jason goes to find Elizabeth and tells her about Emily's death. Elizabeth refuses to believe that Emily is dead but agrees to help anyway she can and gets some horse tranquilizer.  Elizabeth finds Nikolas holding Emily and not letting her go. She injects him with the tranquilizer and gets him to let go of Emily so Jason to lift her and carry her somewhere to lay her down.  Sonny finds Emily laying there with Jason looking on with a lot of sorrow and devastation. Sonny also reacts with sorrow. He tells Jason how sorry he is for his loss and talks to Emily about how he always wanted her to be safe and happy. Elizabeth lays down next to Emily 's body and starts to cry. Jason comes up to her and puts a comforting hand on her shoulder. Nikolas has a dream about dancing with Emily at the ball and then sees himself being tied to a chair and watching himself strangle Emily.

Liz tells Jason she still can't believe Emily is gone. Nikolas wakes up after dreaming of killing Emily. He yells out for her, and Liz rushes over to him. Nikolas tries to go over to her, but Liz wants him to rest. Jason comes over and tells Nikolas that Emily is dead, but Nikolas refuses to believe it. He thinks it was just a nightmare. He holds Emily's hand and notices how cold it is. He asks her to please speak to him. He pulls the sheet off her face and sees the marks on her neck. He cries and asks how this happened to her. Why did she come back? He loved her, and now he killed her. Jason is stunned to hear this, but Liz tells him that Nikolas doesn't know what he's saying. Even Emily believed that Nikolas wouldn't hurt her. Jason reminds Liz that Emily's judgment was clouded by love. Jason and Liz hear gunshots outside. Jason decides to go check it out and he rushes out. Liz tries to comfort Nikolas, but he's inconsolable. Anthony comes from behind and grabs her without Nikolas noticing.  Jason comes out on the balcony and sees Anthony holding Liz at gunpoint on the edge. He tells Jason that one of them is going to fly tonight. He notices that Jason loves Liz. He asks Jason which one of them is going to fly and die tonight.

Jason tries to stall Anthony and tells him that he should leave. Liz jumps backwards and kicks Anthony in the leg. He falls and he and Jason struggle for the gun. Anthony jumps off the balcony. Liz and Jason go back inside. She tells him that all she could do was think of who would take care of her kids if something happened to her. He tells her that she is stronger than she thinks. She lays her head down on his shoulder. Liz walks in the room with Nikolas and sees him talking to Sam. Liz tries to stay out of the way, but Sam comes over and yells at her for leaving her best friend and Nikolas. They bicker about Jason and Lucky until Sam decides to leave to find Lucky.

Jason approaches Anthony with gun drawn. Johnny tries to stop him from shooting his dad, but Trevor tells him to let Morgan go down for murder. Mac comes over and tells Jason to put his gun down. The cops go over to Anthony's body and asked what happened. Jason tells them that he jumped off the ledge. They ask if that was before or after he was shot. Georgie, Maxie, Spinelli and Nadine come running over. Georgie reveals that Emily was killed. Mac goes over to Jason and offers his sympathy but asks how soon after Zacchara killed Emily did he try to kill Anthony? Johnny sneaks away while everyone is preoccupied.

Liz tells Nikolas that a helicopter has come to the island. They will take Emily soon. Nikolas asks her to stay with Emily. He has something he needs to do. When he leaves, Liz talks to Emily and cries over losing her best friend. A cop comes in and asks about Emily. Liz gives him the details that she knows. She says Emily's fiancé asked that she stay with her. Carly and Jason come in and tell them what they know. The cop asks Jason why he keeps popping up everywhere.

Liz tells the police officer that Nikolas would never hurt Emily. It had to be Anthony that killed her. She tells them everything that happened. The officer asks Carly and Jason who arrived on the scene first. Jason says he did but all he saw was Nikolas holding his dead sister. The officer wants to know where Nikolas is now. Jason and Liz go over to Emily's body. She tells him she's going to stay with her. Jason is going to go tell Monica what happened before she hears it from someone else. When Liz is alone with Emily, she tells her how beautiful she was last night. All her dreams finally came true. She's not going to waste another minute of her life. Sam overhears as Liz tells Emily that she's going to follow her heart. Sam tells her she is still looking for Lucky. Liz suggests she tell Mac, but Sam erupts into a fit of anger again, blaming Liz for hurting Lucky. Nikolas walks in as they are putting Emily in a body bag. He starts yelling at them to get out of his house and hugs Emily's lifeless body. Sam tries to comfort him, but he pushes her away. Liz ends up comforting Nikolas as they take Emily's body away.

Jason walks in as Monica hangs up from leaving a message for Emily. She realizes right away that something terrible has happened. He tells her that Emily was murdered last night, and it was probably Anthony Zacchara that killed her. Monica is devastated. She blames Jason for Emily's death and kicks him out. He stands outside the door and listens to her cry and collapse on the ground.

Sonny and Jason strategize about how to deal with Trevor. At the same time, Lucky arrives at Elizabeth's and finds Jason holding Jake in his arms. Later, as he watches Lucky with Jake and Cameron, Jason feels like an outsider.

On the day of Emily's funeral, everyone tries to cope with their sadness. Though torn over whether or not to attend, Jason decides to honor Monica's wishes and stay away. Carly, however, convinces Jason that Emily would have wanted him to be there. Lucky and Elizabeth put aside their differences and come together to support Nikolas.

Jason attends Emily's funeral, but doesn't make his presence known. As Elizabeth delivers her heartfelt and emotional eulogy, she notices Jason listening from the vestibule. Afterwards, Lucky makes it clear to Elizabeth that he'll never forgive what she did to him.

Jason is sitting on a chair in Elizabeth's living room when she comes home. She walks over to him and he takes her into his arms for comfort. They look into each other's eyes and then kiss. Jason tells her he loves her and Jake and that he thanks God every day that he has them in his life. Elizabeth takes him hand and brings him upstairs to her bedroom. She starts to undress him and they make love. Afterwards, he holds her in his arms after they get dressed. Elizabeth tells him that her grandmother is suppose to drop the boys off anytime now. There is a car horn that goes off outside her house to signal her that her kids are home. Jason thinks that Elizabeth wants him to leave now. Elizabeth tells him she wants him to stay. Cameron comes into the house first with a face smeared with chocolate. Jason greets him and asks him about the chocolate on his face. Cameron nods his head that he had chocolate at his great-grandmother's house. Elizabeth tells Jason that Cameron asked Audrey for a piece of chocolate cake because it would help him not miss Emily so much. Elizabeth asks Jason to hold Jake for her and watch him while she takes Cameron upstairs and gets him ready for bed. Jason holds his son and tells him that he wishes that Emily was still alive so that he could get to know her because he knows that Jake would love her so much. Elizabeth listens to what he says and is touched. Later, she comes back downstairs to find Jason watching their son sleep. Jason tells her that he was afraid to pick Jake up because he might wake him up and he loves watching him sleep. Elizabeth tells him that he is fine where he is right now. Jason comments that Jake has his hands. Elizabeth tells him she loves to watch Jake sleep also. Elizabeth tells him that she thinks that Emily somehow was responsible for him being there tonight. Jason tells her that he couldn't think of any place to go to after the funeral but to go see her and Jake. Jason gets up and gives her a kiss goodbye before he leaves the house. Elizabeth watches him leave with regret.

When Jason goes to Elizabeth to figure out what's next for them, they're interrupted by Lucky's arrival. As a hidden Jason listens, Lucky suggests to Elizabeth that he should be Jake's father because Jason's life is too dangerous. Lucky warns Elizabeth she'll be jeopardizing her son's life if she lets it become known that Jason is the baby's father. Jason explains to Robin why Nikolas is a suspect in Emily's death.  Elizabeth and Jason later meet up at the barn to discuss Jake. Although Jason wants a future with Elizabeth and their child, he agrees to stay out of Jake's life.

Jason tells Liz that Jake would be safer if he were not a part of his son's life. Liz says that is exactly why Jake couldn't have a better father than him. Kate and Liz bump into each other in the hospital. Kate asks Liz if she's ok. She says yes, then no. Liz warns her not to get involved with Sonny if she can't take the danger. Get out before it's too late and your heart falls so deeply in love that you belong to him and you can't be together. At home, Kate talks on the phone until Sonny comes in with pasta. He wants to help her relax. She tells him to get out of her house. She set boundaries, and he's not abiding by her rules. He thought she would be tired after community service. He tries to charm her, but she is still mad at him. He comes over to her and kisses her. He reminds her that 2 out of 3 women were strangled because they were connected to him. He intends to protect her. She thanks him, but she says that she can roast her own chicken. He finally relents and leaves. Liz talks to Robin about how she can't believe what her life has become. Kelly comes over and they all discuss having a girl's night out. Emily would have wanted them to do that.

Sonny goes to Jason's and tells him they have problems with Johnny. He warns Jason that things are going to get ugly. Trevor is using Johnny to hide behind. Johnny is a loose canon, though. He's never been in the business before. He wants to capitalize on Johnny's vulnerabilities before all hell breaks loose. Jason tells him he will tighten security. Spinelli comes home after Sonny leaves and asks if there is any news from seeing Liz. He tells Spinelli that they decided that Lucky would continue to be Jake's father. Spinelli is shocked, but Jason points out all the danger Sonny's kids have been in due to the business. He doesn't want Jake to become like Johnny. Jason tells Spinelli that his work with Sonny is all he knows. It's all he's ever done. He can't back out of that life now. He never thought about his future before. He can't do this to Jake. He tells Spinelli to rethink being in this with him. The longer he's a part of this type of life, the harder it is to get out of it. Spinelli thanks Jason, but he wouldn't want to work anywhere else. Jason accepts his uniqueness. They make a team much like Sonny and Jason. There's a knock at the door. Spinelli leaves and goes to Kelly's. Jason allows Lucky to come in. Lucky tells him that he agreed to continue being Jake's dad on one condition. Jason must stay away from Liz and Jake.

Jason gives Lucky his word that he'll stay away from Elizabeth and Jake. Still hurting over the situation with Jason, Elizabeth has too much to drink at Jake's. When an unwitting Patrick arrives, Elizabeth unleashes her pent up anger on him. As her friends all cheer her on, Elizabeth calls Patrick a coward for refusing to become a father.

As Harper questions Jason about Emily's murder, he says that the police received an anonymous message claiming that Zacchara didn't kill her. Afterwards, Jason warns Johnny that taking over his father's empire is a mistake. However, the troubled Johnny feels he has no other options. In light of his current situation with Jake, Jason empathizes with Johnny's plight.

Sonny asks Jason if there's anymore evidence about Emily's murder. Jason tells him about the text message. Sonny is starting to think that Anthony did not kill Emily. He wants to know who the murderer is that is still out there targeting the women he loves. Sonny thinks this is about him, but Jason isn't so sure. Sonny says he can't take any chances. He needs to find the murderer now. They talk about Kate and how she doesn't want the guards around her. Jason tells Sonny that he had to agree to stay out of Jake's life to protect him. Sonny asks if he should break up with Kate in order to protect her, too.

Jason shows up at Kate's to try and tell her about the possible danger she is in. He tells her that by refusing protection, she is asking to get hurt or killed. She asks if he is trying to scare her out of her relationship. He tells her she should be scared. This is real. She doesn't want to lose her independence. She will hire her own guards.  While Harper interrogates Maxie, Jason shows up for questioning. Lucky tells him he will question him since Harper is busy. Jason thinks it is a bad idea. Lucky says he is raising Jason's son, surely Jason trusts him to ask a few questions. Jason says Lucky can't be objective. He can't keep his hate about Jason from interfering with finding who killed Emily. Lucky says that Emily's death was Jason's fault. Anthony Zacchara would have never come to town if it weren't for Sonny and Jason's mob. That's why Jason shouldn't be a part of Jake's life. It will make him a target. They turn and see Ric behind them.

When Georgie arrives home she sees a black clad figure dash out the back door. She finds Maxie on the floor unconscious, but alive, despite being strangled. She calls 9-1-1. At the police station, Rick overhears Lucky as he tells Jason to stay away from Jake. Rick's interest is piqued, but before he can ask more questions, Mac calls on Lucky to go with him to see about Maxie. Ric is unbearably smug while he has Jason in the interrogation room. Jason calmly asks for a lawyer, so Ric takes the opportunity to tell Jason that he holds him responsible for trashing Elizabeth's life and calls him a "shallow, heartless bastard."
"Wherever you go," he tells Jason, "Death and destruction follow." Then he leaves. Detective Harper, who is handling Emily's case asks Jason if he noticed anything that might be a pattern, since he arrived first on the scene of both Emily's and Leticia's murder. Diane interrupts them and tells Detective Harper that unless he is arresting Jason for murder, they are leaving. The detective tells Jason that he owes it to his sister to help. Then he allows Diane and Jason a private conversation. Diane is fearful that the police will try to pin the murders on Jason. The detective comes back and tells them that Maxie was strangled with a phone cord and that the killer is almost certainly the same one that killed Emily. He asks Jason again what Maxie, Leticia, Emily and Carly have in common.

Jason goes to Johnny's house and tries to get information. He tells Johnny about the attempted strangulation of Maxie. Jason asks Johnny for a description of the killer, since Johnny interrupted the attempted strangulation of Carly. Johnny says that the strangler was medium height, dressed in black and had brown hair. Before they can talk further, Lucky bursts in and tells Johnny that he is taking him in for questioning in the assault on Maxie Jones.
