Julian & Alexis #3 June 17, 2014 - January 5, 2015: 8 hour original edit
DVD #3A 6/17 In the park, Julian offered his condolences to Sonny on Ric's tragic death, but Sonny merely glared at Julian. Sonny explained that Ric had denied being the head of Julian's organization, so Sonny had talked to Anna. Sonny conceded that Anna had confirmed that Julian had named Ric as the one in charge, but Sonny wanted to hear the truth directly from Julian. Julian insisted that Ric had been intent on taking Sonny down from the beginning, but Julian added that it no longer mattered because Ric was dead, and Julian had retired from the mob.
Sonny revealed that Anna had mentioned that Julian had retired, but Julian's word meant nothing to Sonny. Sonny admitted that if he could, he would put a bullet in Julian's head, but Julian's daughter, Sam, was the only thing that prevented Sonny from pulling the trigger. Sonny was curious what it felt like for Julian to hide behind Sam and Danny, but Julian blurted out in a moment of frustration that Julian wasn't Sonny's enemy. "Who is?" Sonny demanded.
Julian covered his mistake by answering, "Ava." Julian revealed that Ava had shot Olivia, but Sonny surprised Julian by defending Ava. Sonny explained that he knew about the shooting and that the bullet had been meant for Franco. However, Sonny seized the opportunity to make it clear that Julian was not to go near Ava. Julian's interest was piqued as he questioned Sonny's sudden desire to protect Ava, but Sonny refused to explain and instead pointed out that Julian shouldn't have a problem following the order since Julian was no longer in the business.
6/19 At the lake house, Julian stood on the porch as he spoke to Luke on the phone. Julian assured Luke that he had received Luke's text messages and then promised Luke that Jordan was on top of things. However, Julian had other matters to deal with because of Ric's arrest and Molly's reaction to her father's death.
Inside the lake house, Alexis was stunned when Molly announced that Molly intended to move out because Alexis continued to date the man who had put everything into motion that had led to Ric's death. Alexis conceded that Ric's death had been tragic, but Alexis insisted that Ric had made his own choices. Alexis admitted that she was grieving for Ric, too, because he had been Molly's father, so Alexis didn't appreciate Molly treating Alexis like the enemy.
Molly clarified that Julian was the enemy, but Alexis reminded Molly that Ric had died while trying to escape from police custody. Molly refused to stay with Alexis as long as Alexis believed Julian's lies about Ric, so Molly intended to move in with Sam. "At least she doesn't take bull from anyone," Molly added. Alexis pointed out that Sam hadn't asked Molly to move in and then reminded Molly that Julian was Sam's father. Molly argued that Sam had only known about Julian for less than a year, so Molly was confident that Sam would understand why Molly couldn't remain with Alexis.
Alexis tried to persuade her daughter to change her mind, but Molly refused. Molly collected her bags then stormed out of the house. Alexis was close on Molly's heels, but Molly stopped short when Molly spotted Julian on the porch. Molly snidely wondered if Julian was on the phone with his real boss, and she marched off. Julian ended the call as Alexis watched her daughter leave.
Alexis and Julian sat down as Alexis filled Julian in about Molly's decision to move out. Julian wasn't surprised that Molly was upset about Ric's death, but he was certain that Molly would eventually get over it and return home. Alexis confessed that Molly would get over it a lot faster if Alexis ended things with Julian because Molly blamed Julian for Ric's death even though Ric's choices had led to Ric's demise. Julian surprised Alexis by suggesting that they break up because Julian didn't want to cause a rift between Alexis and Molly.
Alexis explained that Molly needed someone to blame because Molly was in pain. However, Ric, not Julian, was responsible for what had happened. Alexis insisted that Julian should be commended for walking away from the organization because Julian owned up to his mistakes, while Ric hadn't. Alexis was certain that Molly would eventually realize the truth.
At the lake house, Julian noticed a call from Jordan on his phone, so he explained that he had to leave to attend to some business. Alexis assured him that it was fine. As Julian left, Anna arrived to talk to Alexis about Ric. Alexis and Anna entered the house, where Anna handed Alexis an envelope containing Ric's personal effects. Alexis promised to give the envelope to Molly, so Anna seized the opportunity to warn Alexis that it was a mistake for Alexis to remain involved with Julian.
At the Jerome Gallery, Julian reminded Jordan that he had warned her not to call him unless it was an emergency because he couldn't afford to be seen with her when he was trying to convince everyone that he was out of the business. Jordan assured him that it was an emergency and explained that she needed to get in touch with his boss right away.
6/20 At the Jerome Gallery, Jordan insisted that she needed to get in touch with Julian's boss immediately, but Julian reminded her that she didn't give the orders. He explained that if she had a problem with something, then she could run it past him, and he would decide if their boss needed to know. Julian made it clear that Jordan would not have access to their boss, but she wasn't satisfied because she refused to risk everything on the chance that their boss was a con man. Julian assured her that it was not the case, but Jordan insisted that she would walk if she didn't know who they answered to.
Julian explained that Jordan was better off not knowing their boss's identity because if she knew, she would never be able to walk away without paying the consequences as Julian had. Julian was curious if Jordan was prepared to take a chance that her son would be shot. "Yes, I am," Jordan answered without hesitation. Jordan pointed out that she and Julian were the only people who knew that Ric hadn't been their boss, but Julian wasn't swayed.
Jordan continued to push Julian for information by insisting that she couldn't help Julian if she was flying blind. She urged him to give her the goods on their boss, so they could protect each other. Julian relented, but he reminded Jordan that he had warned her. However, before Julian could reveal the identity of their boss, a man entered the gallery and introduced himself as Mickey Diamond.
According to Mickey, their boss had sent Mickey to make certain that everything ran smoothly, but Julian informed Mickey that Julian only dealt directly with their boss. Jordan became frustrated when Mickey asked to have a private word with Julian. After Jordan reluctantly left, Mickey warned Julian that Jordan was new and not to be trusted. Julian frowned as he asked if the office had been bugged.
Mickey was curious if Julian wanted to know because Julian had been about to say or do something that would displease their boss. Julian clarified that he didn't like being spied on, but Mickey was unapologetic as he warned Julian not to make a wrong move because Mickey would know. Mickey then changed the subject by advising Julian to pay Alexis a visit to let her know that Julian would be out of town on business for a few days because their boss wanted Julian to take care of something.
Julian realized that he wasn't in a position to object, so he left. Mickey looked at the back room with a malicious grin. Moments later, Jordan returned to the main room of the gallery and struck up a conversation with Mickey by asking where his usual base of operations was. Rather than answer her question, Mickey quoted Andy Warhol. "Making money is an art and working is an art and good business is the best art," Mickey said. He then told her that all she needed to know was that they would make masterpieces together as long as she never betrayed their boss.
At the lake house, Anna warned Alexis that it was a big mistake for Alexis to continue to have a relationship with Julian. Alexis wanted to know why, but a knock at the door distracted Alexis. It was T.J. looking for Molly. Alexis explained that Molly had temporarily moved in with Sam because Molly was upset about Ric's death and determined to blame Julian. T.J. felt bad for Alexis, but thanked her for letting him know where to find Molly.
After T.J. left, Anna questioned why Alexis would continue to date Julian if Molly had moved out. Alexis made it clear that her relationships with Molly and Julian didn't concern Anna. Alexis appreciated that Anna had valid reasons to despise Julian, but Alexis pointed out that Julian was no longer a threat because he had left the mob and then had cooperated with the police. Alexis admitted that Anna's advice didn't seem right unless there was something that Anna had not told Alexis.
"No," Anna answered, but Anna was curious how Alexis could be certain that Julian had left the mob. Alexis pointed out that the same could be said for Duke. Anna conceded that Duke had returned to the mob to take down Julian, but Anna and Alexis' situations were completely different because Anna could trust Duke. Anna pointed out that Anna had been married to Duke and had been to hell and back with him, whereas Alexis had only known Julian for a short while. Anna appreciated the pull that the mob had on men, so she didn't want to see Alexis and Alexis' family hurt because Julian had been unable to walk away from organized crime.
Alexis cut the conversation short by thanking Anna for dropping off Ric's personal effects. A short time later, Julian stopped by. He was curious why Anna had paid Alexis a visit. Alexis told him about Ric's personal effects but didn't mention the conversation she'd had with the police commissioner. She then asked him about his business meeting, so he seized the opportunity to explain that he had to leave town on business for a few days.
6/26 At Sam's penthouse, Molly was startled when she arrived home and found Alexis waiting in the living room. Molly pointed out that she had moved in with Sam to avoid Alexis because Alexis continued to believe Julian's lies. Molly asked her mother to leave, but Alexis explained that she had stopped by because Anna had dropped off Ric's personal effects. Alexis quietly handed Molly the envelope and started to leave, but Molly asked her mother to stay because Molly didn't want to be alone when she looked through Ric's things. Alexis hugged Molly then joined her daughter on the sofa as Molly opened the envelope.
Molly pulled out Ric's wrist watch that had an inscription from Elizabeth. Alexis' eyes filled with tears as she recalled that Elizabeth had given Ric the watch on Ric and Elizabeth's wedding day. Molly decided that Elizabeth should have the watch, so Molly set it aside then pulled out the other items, which included loose change, a cell phone, and a wallet. Molly began to cry when she found that Ric had tucked a recent picture of him and Molly into the wallet.
Alexis admitted that she had never seen a man who had loved his daughter more than Ric had loved Molly. Molly wiped away the tears as she continued to check the envelope. She was surprised when she pulled out a letter that had been addressed to Molly in Ric's handwriting. Molly unfolded the letter and began to read it out loud.
The letter opened with Ric claiming to have written the letter as he had waited to be taken to his arraignment. Ric conceded that he had no idea what his future held, but the best thing to ever happen to him was Molly's visit to assure Ric that she had believed in him. Ric assured Molly that her unwavering faith in him had meant everything to him. He confessed that his greatest regret had been leaving town five years before, but he promised that Molly would always remain in his heart even if they were separated for a long time.
"With unending love, Dad," Molly finished as she began to weep. Alexis rocked her daughter in comforting arms until Molly stopped crying. Molly thanked her mother for staying with her, so Alexis asked Molly to return home. Alexis was disappointed when Molly explained that she wasn't ready. Determined to respect Molly's wishes, Alexis collected her things. She assured Molly that she loved Molly every bit as much as Ric had and then left.
7/3 Patrick left Sam a message asking her to call him with news about Rafe as soon as she was able. "What's this about Rafe?" Alexis asked as she and T.J. walked up. Patrick carefully asked Alexis what she knew, so Alexis admitted that T.J. had told her about Rafe's drug use. Patrick was stunned, but admitted that it explained a lot. Alexis asked what Patrick was talking about, so he filled her in about Sam's investigation and their suspicions that Rafe had caused the accident that had led to Patrick's son's death. Alexis became alarmed when Patrick revealed that Rafe had decided to go on the run and that Molly had been in the car with the troubled teenager.
Sam and Dante arrived on the scene of the accident Molly & Rafe have been involved in. Sam raced to Molly's side as Dante checked on Rafe. Sam and Dante realized that both teens were in trouble, so Dante called an ambulance. Later, Rafe and Molly were loaded into ambulances. Dante suggested that Sam ride with her sister, while he followed in his car.
7/7 At GH, the paramedics wheeled in a dazed Rafe, followed by Alexis and T.J. Alexis immediately confronted Rafe about the accident. Sam and Dante explained to Alexis that it wasn't the time, so Alexis backed down. In a nearby trauma unit, Sam offered her mother a comforting hug and words of encouragement.
7/8 In a nearby trauma unit, Alexis, Sam, and T.J. stood by Molly's bed, waiting for her to wake up. Sam assured Alexis that Molly's injuries looked far worse than they actually were, but Alexis wanted to hear that from Molly. T.J. promised Alexis that Molly would be awake soon.
Meanwhile, Molly relived the moments leading to the crash. She recalled Rafe's shocking confession that he'd deliberately caused the crash that had killed Patrick's son and the admission that someone had forced Rafe to do it. Molly's eyes slowly fluttered open as Alexis, Sam, and T.J. smiled down at her with relief. Molly looked around in confusion then asked where Rafe was. Sam decided to fetch a doctor for Molly and check on Rafe, while Alexis and T.J. ignored her questions. Molly sensed that Alexis and T.J. were hiding something, but Alexis was spared from having to answer when the doctor arrived to examine Molly.
In another trauma unit, Rafe lifted his head from the gurney to apologize to Patrick. Patrick wasn't interested in hearing Rafe's apology, so Rafe explained that he needed to tell Patrick something about the accident. Patrick insisted that all he needed to know was that Gabriel had died, but Rafe explained that there was more. Silas urged Rafe to rest, but Rafe was determined to make a full confession. However, Rafe suddenly suffered a terrible seizure.
Patrick left the trauma unit as doctors rushed in to help Rafe. Sam saw the commotion, so she followed Patrick to ask what had happened. Patrick quickly filled Sam in about his angry confrontation with Rafe and then Rafe's cryptic words before the seizure had hit. Patrick admitted that it had seemed as if there had been more to the story, but he didn't know what. Sam assured Patrick that they would find out once Rafe was well enough to talk.
A short time later, Silas walked out, so Sam asked for an update on Rafe. Silas explained that the seizure that Rafe had suffered had been the result of a traumatic brain injury that Rafe had sustained in the crash. Silas revealed that a CT scan had confirmed that fluid had built up on Rafe's brain, so Rafe would need immediate surgery to relieve the pressure.
Liesl Obrecht walked up to confirm Silas' diagnosis then shocked everyone by insisting that Patrick perform the surgery. Silas objected, but Liesl explained that time was of the essence. Silas wanted another neurosurgeon to perform the operation, but Liesl revealed that Patrick was the only one available. Patrick flatly refused to operate on Rafe because Rafe had been responsible for Gabriel's death.
Liesl appreciated that Patrick had misgivings but she expected him to put them aside to save a boy's life. Silas threatened to go to the board with a complaint, but Liesl argued that time wasn't a luxury that Rafe could afford. Sam assured Silas that she had complete faith in Patrick because Patrick had once saved Jason's life when Patrick had had every reason to hate Jason. Patrick reluctantly agreed to operate, so Silas warned Patrick not to use the scalpel to exact revenge on Rafe, or Silas would make Patrick regret it.
Meanwhile, Dante entered the trauma unit as Molly's doctor announced that Molly was well enough to go home. Dante was relieved that Molly would make a full recovery but he explained that he needed to ask her a few questions about the accident. Alexis and T.J. objected, but Dante insisted that it was necessary to confirm some revealing statements that Rafe had made.
Molly agreed to answer Dante's questions, so he asked her to walk him through how she had ended up in the car with Rafe. Molly told Dante about Rafe's drug use and her intention to talk to Silas. She explained that she had spotted Rafe in the garage, so she had stopped to talk to Rafe, but Rafe had been upset and jumpy. Molly continued to recount the events leading up to the crash, but her memory became hazy. Alexis decided that Molly had answered enough for the evening, so Dante agreed to pay Molly a visit at a later time to go over everything.
Alexis insisted that it wasn't necessary, but Dante disagreed because Molly would likely remember more details as she recovered from her injuries.
7/9 Julian approached the nurses' station to ask where Molly was, so the nurse pointed him to a nearby trauma unit. Julian became concerned when he found Alexis sitting on Molly's empty bed and crying. Alexis glanced up then ran into Julian's waiting arms as she told him about the car accident and Molly's injuries. She revealed that she had been assured that Molly was fine, so Dante had questioned Molly about the accident. According to Alexis, twenty minutes into the interview, Molly had experienced sudden sharp pain in her head.
Alexis tearfully explained that the doctor had taken Molly for a CT scan, but he had sent Alexis back to the trauma unit because Alexis had been upsetting Molly. Julian assured Alexis that Molly would be fine, but Alexis insisted that everyone had said the same thing about Rafe until Rafe had suffered a seizure and had been rushed into surgery. Julian urged Alexis to relax until she talked to the doctor, but Alexis was too distraught. Julian decided to take matters into his own hands by ordering Alexis to sit and close her eyes. Once Alexis complied, Julian began to massage her back.
Alexis slowly calmed down as Julian continued to assure her that Molly would be fine. Alexis believed him because she realized that Molly and Rafe's situations were different, since Molly hadn't been on drugs. Julian tensed as Alexis filled him in about Rafe's recent drug use. Alexis admitted that she was happy that Julian had left organized crime when he had then mentioned Anna's visit when Anna had urged Alexis to end things with Julian. Alexis quickly assured Julian that she had defended him to Anna, but Julian doubted that it had changed Anna's mind about him.
Alexis conceded that she couldn't blame Anna for despising Julian because of everything Julian had done to Anna. Alexis then changed the subject by admitting that she felt calm enough to check on Molly. She invited Julian to join her, but Julian declined because he feared that his presence might upset Molly. Alexis reluctantly agreed, so Julian kissed her and watched her leave.
Moments later, Julian bumped into Anna at the nurses' station. Anna explained that she was there to check on Molly, so Julian revealed that Molly had been taken to radiology for a CT scan. However, he was confident that Molly would be fine. Julian then shifted gears to let Anna know that he was aware of her attempt to persuade Alexis to leave him. Anna didn't deny it, but she admitted that Alexis had been adamant that Julian was through with the mob. Julian assured Anna that it was true, but Anna argued that only time would tell.
7/15 Outside the Floating Rib, Julian thanked Lucas for agreeing to meet him for dinner. Julian confessed that he had been concerned about Lucas' safety following the shooting at the gallery, but Lucas insisted that he was fully recovered and had moved past the violent incident. Lucas added that there wasn't anything to worry about any longer since Julian was out of the mob and Ric, who had ordered the hit, was dead. Julian's smile was strained as he followed Lucas into the bar.
Olivia urged Julian to claim the table before anyone else could, so Lucas followed his father to the table. After Julian and Lucas sat down, Julian asked what Lulu had been talking about. Lucas warned his father that it was about Lucas' love life, but Julian didn't care. Lucas revealed that it had all started when he had walked in on Brad and Felix in the locker room during a heated kiss, while Felix had been naked. Julian choked on a sip of beer, so Lucas asked if Julian was okay.
Julian promised to let Lucas know once the shock had worn off, but Julian insisted that Lucas continue. Lucas opened up to Julian about Lucas' dilemma and what had transpired at the hospital when Lucas had walked in on Brad and Felix in the locker room. Lucas concluded his tale by revealing that he had gone to the hospital to tell both men that Lucas had made a decision about who Lucas wanted to explore a relationship with.
Julian was eager to know who the lucky man was, so Lucas confessed that it hadn't been easy because Lucas had been drawn to each man for different reasons. Lucas opened up about the passion that he and Brad had shared, so Julian confessed that he had felt a similar pull to Alexis. Lucas cringed when Julian began to talk about his attraction to Alexis, but Julian was unapologetic, since Lucas could appreciate how Julian had felt earlier.
"Touché," Lucas conceded with a good-natured grin. Julian cut to the chase by asking which man Lucas had chosen. Lucas was about to tell his father when Lucas glanced up and spotted Brad and Felix. Brad and Felix approached Lucas and Julian's table to greet Lucas. Brad was curious why Lucas was there, but Lucas turned the question around on Brad and Felix.
It quickly became clear that Lucas assumed that Brad and Felix were on a date. Brad insisted that Lucas had the wrong idea, but Lucas wasn't interested in hearing Brad's explanation. Brad and Felix appeared somber as they watched Lucas and Julian leave.
7/16 At the hospital, Molly was startled awake after dreaming about Rafe's confession that someone had forced him to drive Patrick off the road. Alexis and T.J. rushed to Molly's side to assure her that everything was okay and that she had just been dreaming, but Molly insisted that she had dreamed about something that Rafe had told her. Molly started to share details of the dream, but the memory quickly vanished. Alexis urged Molly to rest, while T.J. promised Molly that the memory would return if it were important.
Molly explained that she could simply ask Rafe about the dream, but Molly became concerned when she noticed Alexis and T.J. exchange a worried glance. Molly demanded to know what they weren't telling her, so Alexis gently broke the news that Rafe was gone. Alexis explained that Rafe had suffered a head injury that had required surgery, but complications during the operation had left Rafe brain-dead. Molly's grief turned to shock when Alexis revealed that Rafe's family intended to take Rafe off life support later that day.
Molly argued that Rafe might get better, but Alexis clarified that Rafe's condition was irreversible. Molly became distraught and reached for a tissue, but she tensed when she spotted her copy of A Streetcar Named Desire. Alexis was startled when Molly announced that she wanted to be with Rafe when Rafe was taken off life support. Molly wanted to say goodbye to Rafe, in part because she hadn't been able to say goodbye to her father when Ric had died.
Later, Silas, Sam, and Kiki stood near Rafe's bed as Molly, Alexis, and T.J. entered the room. Molly tearfully extended her condolences to Silas then thanked him for letting her be there for Rafe during Rafe's final moments. Silas appreciated that Molly had cared for his nephew, so he thanked her for being Rafe's friend. Sam, Kiki, and Silas each shared final words with Rafe then stepped aside for Molly.
Molly placed her copy of A Streetcar Named Desire in Rafe's hands and told him that she was sorry for everything that had gone wrong. She hoped that Rafe knew how much he had meant to her. Moments later, Silas told Rafe that he hoped Rafe could finally find peace, and he turned off Rafe's life support. Everyone silently wept and comforted each other as they stayed with Rafe until the heart monitor flat-lined.
Later, Alexis helped Molly back into the hospital bed and told her daughter to rest. Molly was upset because both Rafe and her father, Ric, had died in an instant without any warning. However, Molly was certain that she might get some closure if she could remember what Rafe had told her in the car prior to the accident. Alexis urged Molly to focus on the good times with Rafe rather than trying to force herself to remember something.
Today's show featured the original song "Reaching" by Daena Jay.
7/22 Julian had also been out for a morning run in the park, he stopped when he spotted Jordan. Moments later, he tapped Jordan on the shoulder. Jordan turned, prepared to defend herself until she realized that it had been Julian. She immediately relaxed, but warned him that it wasn't a good idea to startle her because she had been prepared to reach for her pepper spray. Julian cut to the chase by questioning her about her relationship with Mickey Diamond and when they had started moving heroin through Port Charles.
Shocked, Jordan assured Julian that she hadn't known anything about heroin trafficking. She confessed that she'd had dinner with Mickey and that Mickey had hoped to start an intimate relationship with her, but she had insisted on keeping things professional. Julian warned Jordan not to underestimate him because he made a point of keeping tabs on everyone, even though he was no longer the one in charge. Jordan assured Julian that she wasn't interested in aligning herself with Mickey, but she wanted Julian to trust her because their only hope to stay a step ahead of their boss was to work together.
Jordan pointed out that the boss didn't trust her or Julian if neither of them had known about the heroin moving through town. Julian admitted that she had given him food for thought, but he was reluctant to trust her because he sensed that she was holding something back. Jordan assured Julian that she appreciated his desire to protect his family, but she warned him that he might soon discover that she was the only person he could trust.
7/23 At the lake house, Alexis bolted awake when she noticed the time. Julian smiled as he confessed that he had let Alexis sleep in because he had enjoyed watching her sleep. Alexis was touched when he quietly added that there were times when he thought she was a dream, so she offered to show him just how real she was. Julian chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her and asked her to be gentle.
Later, Alexis grinned as she admitted that each day should start the same way. Julian confided that he was grateful to have her in his life because he knew that he didn't deserve her. Alexis reminded Julian that he was out of the mob, so she urged him to let go of the past. Julian explained that he couldn't because their night together had been their last.
Alexis was stunned when Julian insisted that he had to walk away from her because he didn't want to be the reason Molly refused to return home. He appreciated that Alexis was a devoted mother who would soon be saying goodbye to Molly when Molly left for college, so he didn't want Alexis to lose any more precious time with her youngest child. Alexis assured him that she would find another way because Alexis refused to let Molly use emotional blackmail to dictate Alexis' love life.
Julian suggested that he and Alexis return to sneaking around, but Alexis objected because she knew that Julian had hated it when they had secretly dated. Julian assured Alexis that he wouldn't mind because it would be exciting, so Alexis reluctantly agreed because she realized that it was the only way to keep Julian from following through on his threat to walk away.
After Alexis left to get ready to go to the hospital, Julian received a call from his sister, Ava. She was at GH and needed his help.
Julian was curious why he should help his sister, since Ava had tried to kill him the last time he had seen her. Ava argued that he had tried to kill her first, so Julian wondered if that was why Ava had moved in with Sonny. Ava was insulted by the suggestion that she would need Sonny's protection when she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself, but she conceded that she was Sonny's prisoner.
Ava cut to the chase by offering to give Julian information that would take Sonny down once and for all in exchange for his help. Julian informed her that he was out of the mob, but Ava didn't believe him because the story about Ric Lansing being in charge of the organization hadn't added up. Ava was certain that Julian remained as firmly "mobbed up" as the rest of them, so she was certain that he would want the information that she had on Sonny. Julian was curious what Ava wanted him to do.
Meanwhile, Sonny bumped into Alexis by the elevators. He inquired after Molly, so she assured him that Molly was on the road to recovery and scheduled to be released from the hospital later that day. Relieved, Sonny asked Alexis to let his niece know that he had been thinking of Molly. Alexis assured him that she would then asked why he was at the hospital. Sonny explained that he had accompanied Ava to a prenatal checkup. Alexis started to tease Sonny about Ava's pregnancy, but he warned Alexis not to judge.
Alexis assured Sonny that she knew that he genuinely cared about his family and was a good father to his children. Sonny appreciated Alexis' kind words, so out of respect to her, he promised not to tell her what he really thought about her boyfriend. However, Sonny acknowledged that Julian had been smart to leave the mob. Alexis smiled awkwardly then excused herself to check on her daughter.
Nearby, Julian approached the nurses' station and unwittingly offered Ava's doctor $1000 for a favor. Moments later, he ducked out of sight when he spotted Alexis headed his way. Julian waited until the coast was clear then slipped into Ava's examination room. Ava insisted that she and Julian needed to act fast before Sonny returned. They were unaware that Sonny stood on the other side of the door and was about to enter the room.
7/24 In the hallway, Mickey Diamond called out to Alexis when he saw her about to enter Molly's hospital room. He confessed that he recognized her, but Alexis had no idea who Mickey was. Mickey explained that he was one of Julian's business associates, so Alexis asked which business Mickey had been referring to. "The one that makes money," Mickey answered. Alexis tensed when she realized that he was referring to organized crime. She quickly informed him that Julian had cut ties with the mob, but Mickey flashed a smug smile.
"Whatever you say," Mickey said then turned and sauntered away. Alexis brushed off the odd encounter with Mickey as she entered her daughter's hospital room. Molly and Alexis exchanged warm greetings and hugs, but the mood quickly sobered when Molly confessed that she couldn't believe that Rafe had died. Alexis quietly suggested that it might help if Molly moved back home, but Molly refused to consider it because nothing had changed between Alexis and Julian.
Molly was startled when Alexis admitted that Alexis and Julian had decided to cool their relationship for Molly's sake because Julian realized that Molly would not move back home unless he took a step back. Molly conceded that Julian had been right, but she was hurt that it hadn't been Alexis' idea. T.J. wondered why it mattered, since Molly had gotten what she'd wanted. Molly realized that T.J. was right, especially when he reminded her that she missed being at home with her mother. Alexis was thrilled when Molly happily agreed to move back home.
A short time later, Sam entered her sister's hospital room. Alexis happily announced that Molly had agreed to move back home, so Sam offered her family a watery smile. Alexis immediately rushed to Sam's side to find out what was troubling her eldest daughter. Sam began to cry as she revealed that she and Silas were over.
In Ava's examination room, Ava implored Julian to move quickly because she needed to be gone before Sonny returned. Julian refused to help his sister until Ava held up her end of the bargain. Ava panicked because she feared that Sonny would return at any moment, but Julian was unmoved by her anxiety. He marched to the door, intending to leave, but Ava begged him to wait. Julian gave her until the count of three to give him what he wanted, so Ava blurted out that Sonny had killed A.J. She quickly explained that she had forced Carlos to confess to the shooting, but she insisted that Sonny was the real killer, and she had witnessed the shooting.
Julian wanted proof, but Ava revealed that she needed to escape Sonny's clutches to get her hands on it. Julian agreed to help her, so she warned him that Sonny's men were guarding all the exits in the hospital. Julian smiled as he explained that he intended to take her to the roof.
On the hospital's rooftop, Ava thanked her brother as she and Julian waited for the helicopter to arrive. Her smile vanished when Mickey suddenly appeared in the doorway and demanded to know what was going on. Julian explained that he had rescued his sister from Sonny, but Mickey reminded Julian that their boss wanted Ava dead for betraying the organization. Ava's eyes rounded with shock as Mickey pulled out a gun then aimed it at her.
Julian quickly stepped in front of his sister as he informed Mickey that Ava had information on Sonny that their boss would want to have. Mickey was unmoved until Julian pointed out that their boss was desperate to take Sonny down.
7/25 Ava, Mickey, and Julian entered Ava's penthouse. She was happy to be back in her own home, and she went in the direction of her bedroom. Julian clarified that, in her absence, he'd moved her to the guest room. After some bickering, Mickey chimed in that Ava was "better off taking your chances with Sonny" than with Mickey. He demanded to know what Ava had on Sonny and reminded her that he could still shoot her. He pointed his gun directly at
her.
Julian walked closer to Mickey, agreeing that Ava should just talk. However, when he got close enough, he grabbed Mickey's gun and twisted the man's arm behind his back. Julian vowed that Mickey wouldn't get any information out of Ava until Julian got some information out of Mickey. As Julian pointed the gun at Mickey, he demanded to know about the heroin sales, because he'd never agreed to sell heroin. Mickey clarified that they weren't selling coke. It dawned on Julian that the cocaine was laced with heroin.
Mickey explained that the faster people got addicted to what they were selling, the faster their profits would rise. Julian no longer wanted to be a part of the scheme, but Mickey commented that history might "repeat itself" in regards to the safety of Julian's family. "If you come near my family, I'll tear you apart," Julian threatened. "And I'll help," Ava chimed in.
Mickey realized that he was late for a date but advised Julian to "sleep on it" and do the right thing. "I haven't forgotten about you," he said to Ava, and he was gone. Ava handed Julian a drink and took water for herself. Julian expressed his fear that someone would go after his family again. Ava advised him that, if that were the case, he needed to push back even harder. They clinked glasses and drank.
7/28 A figure creeped around outside Alexis' house. The person produced a bomb, set it to go off in thirty minutes, and set it inside the mailbox, which was attached to the house. Suddenly, headlights appeared, and the man ran away into the trees. Alexis, Molly, and T.J., who carried Danny, went inside the house. Alexis was happy to have so much family at her house at once.
Julian told Ava that Mickey didn't just make idle threats. He informed her that his boss had almost had Lucas killed, which was something that could easily happen again. Ava was exhausted and turned to go change into something more comfortable. Before she left, Julian reminded Ava that she owed him some information.
Julian called Alexis. Seeing that it was Julian, Alexis rejected the call. Julian left a message saying that he understood why she'd rejected the call, and he'd just wanted to check in. He told her that he loved her, and that he couldn't wait to sneak around with her again. "How sweet," Ava commented dryly after Julian had hung up.
Julian changed the subject by asking Ava if she had any proof that Sonny had shot A.J. She informed him that A.J. had secretly recorded his entire encounter with Ava and Sonny, and the recording had been transferred to a flash drive, which was hidden in Sonny's possession. Julian wondered why Sonny hadn't "trashed" the incriminating evidence. She reluctantly admitted that the recording also incriminated her in a crime, separate from A.J.'s shooting.
At Julian's prodding, Ava lied that, in the recording, she'd confessed to shooting Olivia. Julian didn't buy it, but Ava insisted that it was enough to put her in jail. She updated her brother on Delia's unsuccessful attempt to recover the flash drive. Ava was sure that the drive wasn't the only copy and thought that the person who'd given it to Sonny in the first place would have a copy as well. She revealed that that person was Carly.
Molly went outside to check the mail and see if her magazine had arrived. Alexis assured Molly that her Soap Opera Digest was in her room. Molly told her mother that she needed to catch up on her show, since she'd missed a few episodes "while I was in General Hospital." Alexis was glad that Molly was home. "Only because you and Julian aren't together anymore," Molly added. Speaking of Julian, Alexis noticed her missed call and voicemail from Julian. Alexis asked Molly and T.J. to put Danny to bed and said she'd order a pizza while they did so. She listened to her voicemail from Julian.
A short while later, Julian's phone rang, and he was delighted to answer it to Alexis. She called to let him know that she loved him, too, and she was also excited to sneak around with him. She told him that she missed him and said goodnight. When Julian hung up the phone, he asked Ava about Carly. She replied that the women's hatred was mutual, and that Carly would probably keep a copy to use against Ava just in case. However, Ava thought Carly would see any kind of hit "coming from a mile away."
Ava thought of someone who could do their dirty work that Carly wouldn't expect. She told Julian that Franco had "a jealous streak and poor impulse control." She thought that Franco would be willing to get the recording from Carly "with the right motivation." A short while later, Ava hung up her phone. "It's all taken care of," she told Julian. A minute later, Julian's phone went off. He stared quizzically at the message he received from Mickey, "Have a good night. Hope your family sleeps tight."
Molly and T.J. returned from Danny's room and told Alexis that Danny wouldn't sleep without his favorite truck, which was at Sam's. Just then, there was a knock on the door, and Alexis answered it to the pizza deliveryman. She took the pizza in. A few minutes later, the bomb beeped inside the mailbox. It exploded, and the house burst into flames.
7/29 At the Jerome residence, Julian received an unsettling text message from Mickey Diamond that read, "Have a good night. Hope your family sleeps tight." Ava confessed that it sounded like a threat, prompting Julian to recall his phone call with Alexis when she had told him that Molly had returned home and that Danny would be spending the night. Alarmed, Julian called Mickey, but the call went unanswered.
Julian's frustration mounted when he called Alexis and her voicemail picked up, so he left her a message instructing her to get everyone out of the house. Ava tried to assure her brother that everything would be fine, but Julian ran out of the apartment, fearing the worst. Later, Ava left Julian a voicemail message urging him to be careful because he was the only thing that stood between her and a bullet from Sonny.
At the lake house, the bomb planted in the Davis mailbox detonated. As the fire engulfed the porch and house, the propane tanks by the outdoor grill exploded. Moments later, Julian arrived. He called out to Alexis and Danny as he ran to the front door, but another blast knocked him backwards as it ripped through the house. Julian was knocked out then remained unconscious until fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene.
Julian struggled to his feet, desperate to rescue his family, but a firefighter held him back because it was too dangerous to enter the burning house. The firefighter warned Julian that no one could have survived the explosion. Julian was distraught until he suddenly heard Alexis cry out with surprise. Relieved, Julian ran to Alexis to wrap her in a tight hug. Alexis stared in disbelief at her home as she asked what had happened, but Julian was anxious to know where their grandson and Molly were. Alexis explained that she had packed up the children to go to Sam's penthouse to pick up Danny's toy truck, so Molly and Danny were safe at Sam's place.
Moments later, Sam ran up crying out for Danny, so Julian and Alexis rushed to assure Sam that Danny was safe at home with Molly and T.J. Sam immediately sagged with relief then asked what had happened to Alexis' home. Alexis confessed that she had no idea, but it was lucky that no one had been home when the fire had erupted. Julian quietly asked Sam to take care of her mother then he left.
Later, Alexis became upset when she saw remnants of special mementos that had been destroyed in the explosion. Sam decided to get some answers for her mother, so she stopped a passing firefighter to ask what had caused the fire. The firefighter was reluctant to discuss it while the investigation was ongoing, but Sam persuaded to him to tell her off the record. Alexis and Sam were shocked when the firefighter revealed that the fire appeared to be a result of an explosion caused by suspicious circumstances. Alexis couldn't believe that someone had destroyed her home intentionally, but Sam pointed out that it would explain why Julian had abruptly left.
In Mickey's hotel room, Mickey gloated that her cover had been blown just as his phone rang. Mickey saw that it was his boss, so he threatened to pick up the phone to warn the boss. Jordan advised Mickey not to try it just as Julian burst through the door and shot Mickey at point-blank range.
7/30 Alexis and Sam stood in the hallway outside Sam's penthouse as they discussed what to tell Molly about the lake house. Alexis feared that it might be too much for Molly to handle if they told her that the fire had been intentional on top of everything else. Sam agreed, so Alexis and Sam braced themselves then entered the
penthouse.
Molly and T.J. happily greeted Alexis and Sam and told them that Danny had fallen right to sleep once he'd had his toy truck in hand. Molly invited Alexis and Sam to join them for dinner, but Alexis declined. Molly immediately realized that something was wrong, so Alexis told Molly about the fire. Molly was devastated when she realized that everything had been lost, including their special keepsakes and family photo albums. Alexis reminded her daughter that the most important thing was that no one had been home at the time of the fire, but Molly wanted to know what had caused the fire.
Alexis carefully explained that the fire remained under investigation, but Molly feared that she might have not blown out a candle before they had left. T.J. assured Molly that she had, but Molly became increasingly upset at the possibility that she had caused the fire. Alexis promised Molly that she was not to blame, but Molly argued that Alexis couldn't be certain without knowing the cause of the fire.
Moments later, the doorbell rang. Sam feared that it might be Silas, so she asked her mother to send him away then dashed up the stairs to check on Danny. Alexis was surprised when she opened the door and saw Julian on the doorstep. Julian noticed that they had an audience, so he explained that he had stopped by to check on everyone when he had heard about the fire. Alexis invited Julian inside as she assured him that everyone was safe and that Sam was with Danny.
Julian told Molly how sorry he was about the fire, but she responded with hostility by asking what he had to be sorry about, unless the whole nightmare had to do with him and his mobster friends. Alexis reminded Molly that the fire was still under investigation, but that only fueled Molly's anger. "Of course, Julian isn't responsible," Molly snapped and then sarcastically added that her father, not Julian, had been the gangster. "Right?" Molly asked. "You're legit now," she spat before marching out of the room with T.J. quietly trailing behind her.
Sam entered the room as Molly left. Alexis waited until Molly and T.J. were gone before asking why Julian had stormed off from the lake house earlier that evening. She insisted that she had a right to know, so Julian admitted that he had made certain that the person responsible for the explosion was out of the picture.
7/31 At the Jerome apartment, Ava was stunned when she saw the newspaper's headline about the fire at Alexis' house. She immediately asked Julian if everyone was okay, so he assured her that everyone was safe. However, Julian admitted that Mickey had planted the bomb as a message to Julian. Ava feared that Mickey might make another move against Julian, but Julian assured his sister that Mickey had been dealt with and wouldn't be a problem.
Julian shifted gears by suggesting that Ava focus on getting her hands on the evidence to put Sonny away for good. She assured her brother that she was exploring a means to obtain the flash drive but she refused to elaborate. Julian suggested that she work faster because he wanted her out of the apartment. Ava was hurt and reminded her brother that they were on the same side, but Julian made it clear that he didn't trust his sister because she had betrayed him by cozying up with Sonny and Morgan. Julian insisted that Ava was simply a means to an end for him, so Ava walked away in a huff.
Later, Julian made a video call to the man he believed was Luke. The imposter was not pleased when Julian asked if the imposter had enjoyed having a taste of his own medicine. The imposter suggested that Julian spare him the moral outrage because Julian had known there would be consequences for refusing to be a team player. Julian resented not being told about the heroin-laced cocaine, so the imposter claimed that he had wanted to spare Julian's "delicate sensibilities."
Julian made it clear that he was furious that Alexis and Danny might have been killed in the explosion, but the imposter was unmoved because no one had been hurt. The imposter was livid that Julian had retaliated by whacking "poor old Mickey," but Julian denied that he had killed Mickey. The imposter didn't believe the story about Julian's "bitch" shooting Mickey because Mickey had been killed with Julian's gun. Julian argued that it hadn't been the first time his gun had been stolen, but the imposter wasn't satisfied because the imposter's gut told him that Julian had been the shooter.
The imposter warned Julian that killing Mickey hadn't solved anything because the imposter had an army of men like Mickey at his disposal. Julian made it clear that if the imposter or any of his lackeys harmed anyone in Julian's family, then Julian would retaliate. The imposter suggested that Julian relax because they both had a common enemy to deal with. The imposter confessed that Mickey had mentioned that Julian had information that might prove valuable in accomplishing their mutual goal of eliminating Sonny as a threat, but Julian refused to share what he knew about Sonny because the imposter might decide that Julian was more trouble than Julian was worth.
The imposter was furious, but Julian refused to back down. Julian insisted that the heroin-laced cocaine stop immediately, but the imposter made it clear that Julian wasn't in charge. Julian informed the imposter that it was a new day with new rules. Julian refused to give the imposter the means to annihilate Sonny until Julian was satisfied that the imposter treated Julian like an equal partner. The imposter warned Julian that it was a mistake to cross him, but Julian was unmoved. "Peace out, bitch," Julian said as he snapped the laptop closed.
Shortly after Julian left, Ava opened his laptop. She dialed the last number he had called and waited out of the web camera's range for the person to answer the video call. The imposter Luke appeared on the monitor, demanding to know where Julian was. "I'm not Julian," Ava said as she stepped in front of the camera.
8/1 At the Jerome Gallery, Julian left a voicemail message for Alexis to let her know that he had been thinking of her. Julian quickly disconnected the call when he entered the main part of the gallery and saw Sonny seated at Julian's desk. Julian immediately reached for his gun, but one of Sonny's bodyguards deftly disarmed Julian then handed the gun to Sonny. Sonny dismissed his bodyguards with instructions for the two men to remain close.
After the two bodyguards disappeared into the next room, Sonny apologized for intruding at the gallery. Sonny explained that he hadn't had a choice because Ava's apartment had been locked up tighter than "Fort Knox." Sonny revealed that he had sought Julian out because Julian had taken something without permission that had belonged to Sonny. Julian pretended to have no idea what Sonny was talking about, so Sonny clarified that he had been referring to Julian's sister, Ava. Sonny conceded that he had been impressed with Julian's "Die Hard" method of spiriting Ava away via helicopter, but Sonny was curious why Julian had bothered to help Ava.
Julian admitted that Ava had confided that Sonny had killed A.J. Sonny was curious if Ava had provided Julian with proof of her claims, so Julian confessed that she hadn't. However, Julian knew that proof existed, which meant that it was only a matter of time until Julian had what he needed. Sonny warned Julian not to repeat the story that Ava had told Julian, but Julian was not intimidated. Annoyed, Sonny accused Julian of hiding behind Danny and then reminded Julian that there were other ways to hurt Julian without killing him. Sonny aimed the gun at Julian's kneecaps as he pointed out that people could donate bone marrow from a wheelchair.
At the Jerome apartment, Ava opened Julian's laptop then clicked on the last video call that her brother had made. Moments later, the man posing as Luke Spencer appeared on the screen. The imposter asked if Julian had changed his mind and then barked for Julian to enable the video. Ava leaned into the web camera's range as she clicked the icon. "It's not Julian," Ava said with satisfaction as the imposter tensed.
Ava assumed that she was talking to Luke as she gloated that he appeared as surprised to see her as she was to see him. The imposter pretended that he and Julian had been working on another art deal, but Ava didn't believe him. She pointed out that Julian had been on the warpath since Alexis' house had been burned down, so Ava knew that her brother had been determined to talk to his boss.
Later, Julian returned home. He was pleased when he saw Ava drinking milk because it meant that she was making an effort to be healthy for the baby. Ava was surprised that her brother cared, so he reminded her that they were family despite everything that had happened between them. Ava was glad to hear it because she wanted to work with Julian again. Julian made it clear that the idea didn't appeal to him, but Ava informed him that he didn't have a choice because she had spoken to his boss who, had agreed that it was an excellent idea.
8/6 At the gallery, Jordan was on the phone with Julian. Julian demanded to know why he hadn't heard from her sooner, so she reminded him that she had saved his "ass from prosecution" by taking the fall for shooting Mickey Diamond. Julian was curious how Jordan had explained away Julian's gun, so she claimed that she had told the police that she had taken the gun from the gallery, where Julian had kept it, without his permission. Julian relaxed as Jordan assured him that they were the only two people who knew that Julian, not Jordan, had killed Mickey. Moments later, Shawn entered the gallery, so Jordan quickly ended her call with Julian despite Julian's objections.
At the Jerome apartment, Julian was in a foul mood when he answered a knock at the door. It was a bodyguard announcing that Julian had a visitor. Julian explained that he wasn't in the mood to see anyone, but he changed his mind when Alexis stepped forward. Julian quickly invited her into his apartment then tried to hug her, but Alexis pulled away from his embrace. Julian explained that he was desperate to hold Alexis because he had experienced the worst moment of his life when he had feared that she had perished in the fire.
Julian appreciated that he and Alexis had agreed to date each other secretly for Molly's sake until Molly could grow to accept him, but he was happy that Alexis was there. Alexis revealed that her visit wasn't what he thought it was; she was there to ask him if he had killed Mickey. Julian claimed that he didn't know who Mickey was, but Alexis knew that it was a lie because the shooting had been covered extensively in Julian's newspaper.
Alexis begged Julian to be honest with her because she was certain that Jordan had covered for Julian. Julian was curious why Alexis suspected him of killing Mickey, so she admitted that she had recently met Mickey at the hospital and that Mickey had introduced himself as Julian's business associate. She had put the pieces together when she had learned about the shooting because she recalled that Julian had left the lake house abruptly after learning that no one had been harmed in the fire. Alexis reminded him that he had also assured her that the person responsible for the explosion had been taken care of.
Alexis once again demanded to know if Julian had killed Mickey in retaliation for burning down her house. "You're damn right I did," Julian answered unapologetically. Alexis was stunned as Julian freely admitted that he wouldn't hesitate to go after anyone who tried to target his loved ones. He hoped that Alexis could understand that, so she admitted that she could. However, she couldn't fathom why Jordan had confessed to the shooting.
8/7 At the Jerome apartment, Julian confessed that he had killed Mickey. He explained that he had done it to protect his family because Julian refused to allow anyone to attack or hurt his loved ones. Alexis conceded that she could understand that, but she couldn't understand why Jordan had taken the fall for Julian. Julian pretended that he had no idea, but Alexis knew better. She pointed out that it didn't make sense for Jordan to confess to Julian's crime unless Jordan had wanted to protect Julian. Alexis was certain that the only reason Jordan would do that was if Julian was still in the mob.
"That's right, I am," Julian admitted. Alexis' eyes filled with unshed tears as Julian explained that he had to lie. "I am who I am," Julian admitted. He apologized for lying to Alexis but he promised her that he was still the same man she had fallen in love with. Alexis disagreed, but Julian insisted that his feelings for her hadn't changed. He was certain that hers hadn't either.
Julian kissed Alexis to prove to her that they still loved each other. Alexis' willpower evaporated as she gave in to the passion and made love with Julian. Afterwards, Julian was confident that he had proven to Alexis that they had a strong attraction and undeniable pull between them. Alexis appeared shaken as she pulled her clothes on then tearfully explained that she couldn't be with him. Julian argued that it didn't have to end, but Alexis disagreed.
Julian insisted that he had only wanted to protect his family, so Alexis explained that she did too. She conceded that she loved Julian, but she was determined to keep her family safe. Alexis pointed out that she couldn't do that as long as Julian remained in the mob.
8/21 At the Jerome apartment, Julian spoke via a video call to the man posing as Luke Spencer. The imposter gloated that Sonny was about to have a very bad day if everything went according to plan. Julian was curious what "Luke" was talking about, but the imposter would only reveal that Ava was involved in the secret plot. The conversation was abruptly cut short when Jordan suddenly entered the apartment, unannounced.
Julian demanded to know how Jordan had gotten past the guards, so she explained that she had simply reminded the guards that she was Julian's business associate. On the laptop screen, the imposter silently warned Julian that he didn't want Jordan to know about their video call. However, Jordan noticed Julian glance at the laptop, so she asked if Julian had been speaking to someone. The imposter quickly severed the connection as Jordan playfully accused Julian of prowling the Internet for woman as she tried to catch a glimpse at the laptop's screen.
Julian smiled with satisfaction when realized that the laptop screen was blank, so she asked him if he had been speaking with Luke Spencer. Jordan told him about the phone call following Mickey Diamond's shooting, but Julian refused to believe that she could have recognize Luke's voice during the brief exchange. Jordan pointed out that Julian had once left a briefcase filled with drug money out in the open while Luke had been at the gallery, so Julian swore on the lives of his family and all those he cared about that the man that Jordan had heard on Mickey's phone was not Luke Spencer.
"Then who is he?" Jordan asked. Julian appreciated that she was frustrated because she didn't know who she was working for, but he promised Jordan that she was better off not knowing. Jordan insisted that that she was eager to play with the big boys, but Julian was adamant that she didn't want to get close to the boss. Julian explained that he had already lost Alexis because of the boss.
Alexis called out to Ned when she saw him exit an elevator. Alexis confessed that she had been visiting with Alice and that Alice had mentioned that there had been some trouble with Tracy. Ned pulled Alexis aside to fill Alexis in about Tracy's plot with Luke to seize control of ELQ. Ned admitted that Alexis had been right to suspect that Tracy and Luke had been in cahoots. Alexis felt bad for Ned, but she assured Ned that the annulment papers had checked out. Ned confessed that he wasn't surprised because Luke had been behind the false documents.
Alexis was surprised when Ned revealed that he and Monica had been forced to evict Tracy from the mansion because Tracy could not be trusted around the family. Alexis reminded Ned that Luke had been around for a long time, but Ned argued that Luke had changed from a freeloader who had made his mother happy to a threatening and malevolent person. Alexis conceded that she had a soft spot for Luke, but she also trusted Ned's instincts. Ned appreciated Alexis' support, but he changed the subject to ask how she had been holding up since the fire.
Alexis revealed that she still couldn't process everything that had happened even though she had met with the fire investigator and insurance adjuster. Ned was curious if the authorities had determined a cause for the fire, so she revealed that Mickey Diamond had planted an explosive device. Ned was shocked because Alice had received Mickey's heart. Alexis was equally stunned, but she was glad that something good had happened as a result of the tragedy.
Ned and Alexis' conversation drifted to Mickey's untimely demise. Ned was startled when Alexis quietly confided that Mickey had been one of Julian's business associates and that she had been forced to end things with Julian when she had discovered that Julian had never left the mob. Ned hated seeing Alexis in pain but he was glad that she had walked away from Julian. Alexis quietly admitted that it had been very difficult to do.
8/22 At the Jerome apartment, Ava entered the living room. Julian apologized for disturbing her rest, but she confessed that she hadn't slept a wink. Julian wondered if it had something to do with the baby, but Ava shook her head then revealed that Luke had ordered her to kill Michael Corinthos because Michael had ruined Luke's plans to infiltrate ELQ. Ava insisted that she couldn't kill Michael because of Kiki, but Julian had little sympathy for his sister's predicament because he had warned Ava not to tangle with the boss.
Ava conceded that Julian had been right, but she was desperate to find a way to handle Luke. Julian warned Ava that it wasn't possible. He reminded Ava that their boss had sent a hit man after Lucas when Julian had tried to leave the organization and then had sent Mickey Diamond to burn down Alexis' home. Ava admitted that it didn't make sense that a man like Luke would to target his own nephew and strike out at Alexis, a longstanding close friend. She was curious how a person changed that much, so Julian explained that Luke had never changed.
Ava was shocked when Julian confided that the real Luke Spencer was locked up at the Miscavige Institute and that an imposter had taken Luke's place. Ave wondered who the imposter really was, but Julian admitted that he had no idea. Julian explained that he had met the man in the witness protection program and that the man had had several aliases. Julian told her about his business arrangement with their boss to rebuild the Jerome organization.
Julian conceded that the imposter had been an ideal silent partner for many years, but everything had changed when the man had revealed his true colors. Julian insisted that their boss was a dangerous sociopath with ice in his veins, so it would be a mistake to cross the man. Julian appreciated that Ava didn't want to hurt Kiki, but Julian warned Ava that Kiki would pay with her life if Ava failed to follow the imposter's orders.
8/25 Ava entered her penthouse with two guards, who were carrying shopping bags. Julian reminded her of how risky it had been to leave. She informed Julian that Michael and Kiki would be over for dinner that night, and she'd "needed supplies." Julian wondered how Ava could possibly kill Michael when Kiki would be there as well. She pulled a vial out of her purse.
Ava explained that one of her old contacts had given her the name of a "botanist gone bad." She continued that not many people knew that oleander was toxic and that any coroner would miss it in an autopsy unless it was specifically searched out. She told Julian that, after eating the poisoned chocolate mousse, Michael would most likely die painlessly in his sleep, and it would look like he'd died of sudden heart failure. Ava only hoped that she were still around to help Kiki through the aftermath.
8/26 At Corinthos Coffee, Sonny dismissed his bodyguard then demanded to know why Julian had stopped by. Julian explained that he wanted to help Sonny keep Sonny's loved ones alive, but Sonny took that as a threat. Julian clarified that he simply wanted to broker a truce with Sonny because the territory was big enough for both Julian and Sonny. Sonny rejected Julian's offer in part because Julian sold drugs. However, Sonny was curious what had motivated Julian's desire for a truce, so Julian blamed it on seeing Lucas shot, holding his bleeding son in his arms, and Alexis' house being burned to the ground.
According to Julian, he didn't want his loved ones getting caught in the crossfire, but Sonny resented the remark because Sonny had never taken aim at anyone in Julian's family. "Can you say the same for me and mine?" Sonny asked. Sonny insisted that he and Julian had a different code of honor and methods for handling things, so there would never be any peace between their organizations until Julian was dead. Julian was disappointed because he had hoped that common sense would prevail, especially with the lives of Sonny's family on the line. Resigned, Julian vowed to find another way to coexist with Sonny in the same territory, but Sonny was confident that one day Julian and Ava would be nothing more than a distant bad memory.
Sonny ordered Julian to leave, so Julian agreed. "Don't say I never warned you," Julian said as he walked out. After Julian left, Olivia called Sonny to let him know about Lulu's abduction. Sonny confessed that he already knew about the kidnapping, so Olivia filled him in about Coleman's agreement to fence the stolen jewelry for Levi. Sonny suggested that he and Olivia meet at the police station to wait for word from their son. Olivia worried about Lulu, but Sonny assured Olivia that Levi wouldn't be foolish enough to incur Sonny's wrath by killing Lulu.
Julian arrived home, so Michael and Kiki decided to leave because they wanted to stop off at the hospital to check on Alice. Ava walked Michael and Kiki to the door with promises to make certain that Michael would get two desserts the next time they had dinner together.
After Michael and Kiki left, Julian asked if Ava had followed through on her plan to poison Michael. Ava confessed that she had granted Michael clemency because she had learned about their boss's "lewd" behavior and attempt to rape Kiki. Ava suspected that the order to kill Michael had nothing to do with ELQ and everything to do with getting Kiki's protector out of the way.
Ava decided to place a video call to their boss to put Luke's imposter on notice, but Julian refused to let his sister follow through on the threat because their boss might decide to teach Ava a lesson by targeting Kiki. Ava warned her brother that she would not kill Michael, so Julian suggested that it was time to present their boss with Sonny's head on a platter. Ava explained that she hadn't been able to obtain Carly's copy of A.J.'s recording because Franco wouldn't help as long as Franco believed that Carly was committed to Franco and not sniffing around Sonny.
8/29 At the Jerome apartment, Ava feared that "Not-Luke" might target Kiki when he turned on Ava for failing to kill Michael. Julian reminded his sister that he had warned her about their boss, but Ava explained that she couldn't risk leaving Kiki vulnerable and unprotected from their boss's unwanted advances by killing Michael. Julian was certain that A.J.'s recording of Sonny shooting A.J. would satisfy their boss's bloodlust, so he urged Ava to get it to the impostor as quickly as possible. Ava assured her brother that she was working on it, but Franco continued to refuse to play ball.
Julian and Ava discussed Ava's options. Ava hoped to persuade their boss that it would be best to leave Michael alone until she had secured the evidence against Sonny. Julian glanced down when his phone rang then announced that it was the impostor. Horrified, Ava wondered why the man was calling Julian, so Julian suggested that their boss might have noticed the lack of news reports about Michael's death.
Ava refused to take the phone from Julian, but Julian warned her that it would be a mistake to avoid their boss because the man didn't like to be ignored. Ava reluctantly answered the call then quickly explained that she had delayed killing Michael to avoid antagonizing Sonny before they had all their ducks in a row at ELQ. Ava assured the impostor that she wasn't trying to avoid carrying out the hit, but she had a better way to get to Sonny. Ava revealed that she had information that could send Sonny to jail for life, but she would need some time to get her hands on the proof because it had been hidden in a secure location that wasn't easy to access.
Ava was relieved when the impostor agreed to give her time to obtain the evidence needed to send Sonny away for good. After the phone call, Julian warned Ava that their boss hated Sonny with "the fire of a thousand suns," so the man wouldn't wait long for Ava to turn over the incriminating recording. Ava decided to track down Franco, but Julian pointed out that it was too dangerous for Ava to leave because Sonny's men would be watching. Ava explained that she didn't have a choice then marched out.
9/4 In the hallway, Alexis paused before entering the penthouse when she received a text message. It was from Julian telling her that he missed her and begging her to reconsider ending things with him. Alexis sent Julian a text message explaining that she couldn't be with him.
Moments later, Alexis entered the penthouse as Sam wrapped up the call with Spinelli. Alexis noticed that Sam seemed frustrated, so Sam explained that Spinelli hadn't had any success tracing the phone number that Sam had found on Rafe's cell phone. Sam couldn't understand it because she had been able to find everyone else that Rafe had talked to, including his dealer. Alexis agreed that it was odd that someone had managed to disappear so thoroughly.
Sam insisted that Rafe deserved better and that Patrick had a right to know who had put Rafe behind the wheel of the car the night Patrick's car had been forced off the road. Alexis asked Sam about Sam and Patrick's trip to the Crichton-Clark Clinic, so Sam revealed that Patrick had posed as a doctor to help Sam get a look at Nina's medical file. Sam explained that she had wanted to prove that Nina could walk because Sam suspected that Nina had been on the roof when Sam had told Silas that Patrick had confessed to thinking about letting Rafe die on the operating table.
Sam was certain that Nina had been pretending to be wheelchair-bound in order to appear fragile and manipulate Silas into taking care of her. Sam wanted to expose Nina's lies because Sam cared about Silas, but Alexis wondered if there was more to it. Alexis suggested that Sam might not be ready to let go of Silas. Sam explained that she had to because Silas was with Nina, which was exactly how Nina had planned it. Alexis felt bad for Sam but admitted that she was in the same boat. Sam was surprised because she had assumed that Alexis' breakup with Julian had been for show to appease Molly.
Alexis assured Sam that the breakup had been real but conceded that it had been difficult to move on because Julian kept sending text messages. As Alexis and Sam sipped on wine, Alexis received another text message from Julian asking if Alexis could deny what they had shared. Sam smiled when her mother showed Sam the text messages, but Alexis remained determined to stay away from Julian. Alexis suggested that both she and Sam find new men to move on with, but Sam wasn't interested because it had taken Sam a long time to get over Jason and put her trust in Silas.
Alexis refused to let Sam go through life alone, so she suggested that Sam consider dating someone like Patrick. Shocked, Sam insisted that nothing romantic had been going on between her and Patrick. Moments later, Patrick knocked on the door. Alexis smiled as Sam greeted Patrick then noticed that he had shaved his beard to honor the bet he had lost to Sam.
At the Jerome apartment, Julian received Alexis' reply to his text message, but he remained determined not to give up on her. Moments later, Ava arrived home. She admitted that she was glad to be there, so Julian wondered how Ava's meeting with Franco had gone. Ava grumbled that Franco had refused to help because he was convinced that Sonny wasn't a threat to Franco's relationship with Carly even though Carly always jumped when Sonny snapped his fingers. Ava feared that their boss would target Kiki if Ava failed to deliver the evidence against Sonny, so Julian offered to try to smooth things over with Luke Spencer's lookalike.
Ava was skeptical that Julian would succeed, but Julian reminded her that he had managed to put their boss off of the idea of killing Ava. Julian was hopeful that he would be able to help his sister out again. Ava was curious why Julian was being nice to her, so Julian admitted that he felt bad for her because her life was in shambles. He also admitted that he hated their boss with a burning passion. Julian insisted that he and Ava needed to stick together because they had a common enemy that they needed to protect their family from. Julian urged Ava to focus on taking care of his unborn niece or nephew because, in spite of everything, he and Ava were family.
Julian became concerned when Ava's eyes suddenly filled with tears. She confessed that she'd had a really bad day because she'd had an encounter with Nina after the failed meeting with Franco. Ava revealed that she had been dreading running into Nina ever since she had learned that Nina had moved to town. According to Ava, it had been worse than she had imagined because Nina had behaved strangely and had been far too interested in Ava's unborn child.
Ava confessed that after the unsettling encounter with Nina, she had bumped into Sabrina. Ava told her brother about Sabrina's remarks then confided that it had seemed as if Sabrina had implied that Ava had arranged for Rafe to force Patrick's car off the road. Julian conceded that it wasn't out of the realm of possibility, so Ava reluctantly admitted that she had considered it and had even put someone in place to carry out the order. However, Ava assured her brother that she hadn't put the plan in motion.
Ava revealed that she had allowed Carlos to believe that she had been behind the crash to force Carlos to stick with the script by confessing to A.J.'s murder. Julian couldn't understand why Ava had protected Sonny, but Ava evaded the question by wondering if Carlos might have said something to Sabrina. Julian conceded that it was possible because Ava had screwed Carlos over. Ava admitted that she had acted out of desperation, so she wasn't proud of what she had done to Carlos. Julian assured Ava that it didn't matter because she had bigger problems to deal with. Ava sarcastically thanked her brother for the reminder then noticed Julian glance at his phone. She quickly realized that Julian was expecting to hear from Alexis.
Later, Julian and Ava sat down to share a Chinese takeout feast. Ava complained about Julian's choice of movie for them to watch because she didn't want to expose her child to the violence. Julian chuckled because she sounded like Alexis. Julian thought that it was ironic that the business had given him everything except the one thing that he wanted most.
Moments later, Alexis sent Julian a text message reiterating that it was over between them and asking him to leave her alone. Ava noticed the sadness in Julian's eyes, so she handed him a box of Lo Mein. At the penthouse, Alexis stood on the balcony, quietly weeping.
9/10 At the penthouse, Alexis played with Danny until the doorbell rang. Alexis assumed that it was Diane, but it was Julian. Julian quickly assured Alexis that he wasn't there to woo her back -- as much as he would like to. Alexis appeared skeptical, so Julian showed her the text messages that he had exchanged with their daughter to prove to Alexis that Sam had agreed to allow Julian to spend time with Danny. Alexis reluctantly invited Julian inside but warned him that he couldn't stay long because Molly would be back. Alexis grabbed her things then announced that she had to leave, but Julian asked her to stay.
Alexis explained that it wasn't a good idea because she was trying to move on with her life, and she didn't want to risk Molly getting the wrong idea. Alexis reminded Julian that he had made his choice by staying in the mob, so Alexis had to do what was best for her and her family. Julian was disappointed that Alexis continued to reject him, but he was grateful that she had allowed him to spend time with Danny. Alexis conceded that, despite everything, she knew that Julian would die before allowing anything to happen to their grandson.
After Alexis left, Julian played with Danny. He assured his grandson that he would keep Danny safe then quietly confessed that Molly had been right about Ric being innocent. Moments later, Molly arrived home. She stopped short when she saw Julian then angrily demanded to know what Julian was doing there. Julian explained that Alexis had said it was okay for him to spend time with Danny, but Molly didn't care. She proceeded to rant at Julian for putting her entire family in danger and lying about Ric.
Julian assured Molly that he had never intended for Molly to be hurt or for Ric to die, but Molly argued that Julian would tell the truth about Ric if that were true. Molly implored Julian to admit that Ric had been an innocent man, but Julian couldn't. Desperate, Molly pulled out the last letter she had received from her father then read it out loud. Julian's expression clouded with guilt as he listened to how much Ric had appreciated Molly's belief in Ric's innocence. After Molly finished the letter, she informed Julian that if he truly considered them family, then he would tell the truth about Ric.
Alexis walked up to Ned’s table at Kelly’s. She noticed all the food on Ned's table, so he revealed that he and Olivia had been having lunch, but Olivia had been too concerned about Dante and Lulu to eat. Alexis sat down as she carefully asked Ned about his relationship with Olivia. Ned admitted that he and Olivia had gone to the movies together and had spent time with each other, but he added that they were just friends. Relieved, Alexis surprised Ned by suggesting that they go out on a date.
Ned wondered about Alexis' relationship with Julian, but she insisted that it was over because she couldn't accept Julian's choices. Alexis admitted that she was trying to avoid Julian, who was at the penthouse with Danny, because she was determined to move forward. Alexis confided that she had recently suggested that both she and Sam needed to find new men to date, so Alexis was curious if Ned would be interested.
Ned reminded Alexis that she had once sprinted out of a church to avoid marrying him, so Alexis apologized. Alexis regretted that she had hurt Ned in the past but she insisted that they had managed to remain friends despite their "checkered past." Alexis was pleasantly surprised when he confessed that she was the most challenging woman he had ever met then agreed to go out with her.
At the penthouse, Julian appeared on the verge of confessing the truth to Molly about her father, but he stopped himself when Alexis arrived home. Molly immediately turned her wrath on her mother by snidely suggesting that Julian was Alexis' boyfriend. Alexis insisted that she and Julian were over, but Molly didn't believe Alexis. After Molly stomped off, Julian admitted that he hoped that Molly was right about Alexis' relationship with him, but Alexis explained that she was determined to move forward then revealed that she had a date with another
man.
9/17 At the penthouse, Alexis entered the living room as Sam cleaned up the empty boxes of takeout food from Noodle Buddha. Alexis asked if Sam needed help, but Sam was surprised that her mother was awake after an exhausting evening with Danny. Alexis explained that she had spent the night tossing and turning, so Sam assumed that Alexis was troubled about Julian's recent visit. Sam apologized, explaining that she had assumed that Alexis and Molly wouldn't be at the penthouse, but Alexis waved away Sam's apology because Julian had a right to visit with his grandson.
Alexis confessed that she was actually grateful that Julian had stopped by because it had given Alexis a much needed push to move forward. Sam was stunned when Alexis told Sam about Alexis' date with Ned. Alexis conceded that she and Ned had history, but they'd also had some wonderful times together. Alexis suggested that Sam follow Alexis' lead by going out with Patrick, so Sam revealed that Patrick had kissed Sam.
Delighted, Alexis was eager to hear every detail, so Sam told Alexis about the fortune cookies and the messages that had encouraged each of them to try something new. Alexis was happy for Sam until Sam explained that she had stopped things because she hadn't been certain if she had been ready to move forward especially on the heels of ending a relationship with Silas. Alexis sensed that there had been more to it, so Sam confessed that Jason's birthday was the following day and that Jason and Sam's third wedding anniversary would have been the following week.
Alexis was confused because she had thought that Sam had moved on by embarking on a relationship with Silas. Alexis also recalled that Sam had recently taken off her wedding ring, so Alexis was concerned that Sam had taken a few steps back because things hadn't worked out with Silas. Sam explained that things hadn't been that simple; Jason and Silas hadn't known each other, but Jason and Patrick had. Sam reminded Alexis that most of the friction between Jason and Patrick had stemmed from Robin being in the middle of both men.
Sam was certain that Jason had always put Sam first, but Sam wasn't certain that Robin had done the same for Patrick, which might cause problems. Sam didn't want to risk losing her close friendship with Patrick because of the past, so Alexis suggested that instead of viewing Jason's relationship with Robin as an obstacle, Sam should view it as something that Patrick and Sam had had in common.
9/25 At Greystone Manor, Julian demanded to know where Ava was. Sonny and Shawn made light of Julian losing Ava while Julian had been out of town, but Julian was not amused. Julian reminded Sonny that despite Sonny's hatred for Ava, the baby she carried was Sonny's flesh and blood. Sonny argued that if Julian had left Ava with Sonny then the child would be fine, so Sonny accused Julian of endangering Ava and the baby by taking Ava away from Sonny.
Julian explained that Ava had called Julian for help, but the call had abruptly ended with Ava screaming in terror. Julian wanted to know if Sonny had killed Ava, but Sonny denied any knowledge of what had happened to Ava. Julian didn't believe Sonny because the hallway outside Julian's apartment had been riddled with bullet holes, Julian's security team was missing, and Ava had vanished. Sonny further infuriated Julian by snidely suggesting that Julian use more caution when leaving town the next time.
Sonny's easy attitude suddenly evaporated as he began to rant about wanting Julian out of town and out of Sonny's life because Sonny resented that Julian sold drugs and had tried to turn Morgan against Sonny. Julian vowed that no one on the planet would be able to save Sonny if anything happened to either Ava or the baby.
After Julian stormed out, Sonny instructed Shawn to gather all the lieutenants because Sonny intended to personally oversee the operation to recapture Ava. Shawn asked for an opportunity to redeem himself because Shawn knew that it was his fault that Ava had gotten away. Sonny was curious if Shawn had any ideas where Ava might be hiding, so Shawn called Jordan because Shawn was certain Jordan might know. Jordan was tightlipped and quickly ended the call, but Shawn was certain that Jordan had been hiding something.
At the Metro Court Restaurant, Alexis walked up to join Ned. Alexis noticed that Ned seemed busy with his phone, but he assured her that he was all hers for the evening as he put the phone away. "That is, if you are all mine?" Ned asked as Alexis sat down.
Later, Alexis took a grateful sip of her cocktail as she confessed that she had been looking forward to it all evening. Ned hoped that she had also been eager to spend time with him. Alexis smiled reassuringly, but Ned reminded her that she had asked him out because she had wanted to get over Julian. However, he hoped that she didn't intend to use him as a pawn to make Julian jealous. Alexis was certain that Ned had inherited his suspicious nature from Tracy. "Takes a Quartermaine to be suspicious of a Cassadine," Ned playfully remarked.
Alexis clarified that she was a Davis, so Ned admitted that he was concerned because Olivia had recently used him to stick it to Sonny. Intrigued, Alexis asked Ned what had happened. Ned revealed that Olivia had kissed him until his "toes curled." Alexis was curious if Ned had feelings for Olivia, but he insisted that he and Olivia were just friends and that the kiss had only been an attempt to prove a point to Sonny. Alexis recalled that Ned had been known to juggle several women at a time and had even been a bigamist once.
"The good old days," Ned said with a chuckle before reminding Alexis that they had been talking about Alexis and Julian's relationship. Alexis promised Ned that she had been sincere about exploring a real relationship with Ned because she and Julian were over and done. Ned heard the conviction in Alexis' voice, so he suggested that they get the party started because he looked forward to having a real date with her. Alexis relaxed because she was grateful that she didn't have to worry about a waiter opening fire on them or her house burning down.
Ned tensed as he quietly warned Alexis that she had spoken too soon. Alexis followed Ned's gaze to the bar where Julian was standing and watching them. Julian approached the table to ask for a moment of Alexis' time, but Alexis refused because she was on a date. Julian referred to Ned as "Ted," but Ned made it clear that Julian didn't intimidate him because Julian was just a thug who sold drugs. Julian ignored the comment as he turned to Alexis to explain that he only needed two minutes of Alexis' time to discuss an urgent matter.
Alexis reluctantly agreed, so she followed Julian to the bar. Julian revealed that he needed to know what her boss, Sonny, had done with Ava. Alexis had no idea what Julian was talking about, but Julian insisted that it was important she help him because he had returned home to find his apartment in shambles, bullet holes everywhere, and Ava missing. Alexis refused to make any promises then announced that she had to get back to her date.
Julian was curious what Alexis was doing with the "overgrown preppy," but Alexis reminded Julian that he didn't have any room to talk because Julian had graduated from Dartmouth College. Julian suspected that she wanted to make him jealous by going out with Ned, but Alexis insisted that she was simply moving on. Julian warned Alexis that Ned could never love her the way that Julian did. Julian was certain that she would eventually return to him, but he hoped that it wouldn't be too late. Alexis appeared rattled as Julian quietly dared her to try to forget what they had shared then told her to have fun on her date.
Olivia greeted Alexis when she returned, so Alexis smiled politely as she explained that Olivia was in her seat. Olivia was mortified when she realized that Ned and Alexis were out on a date, so Olivia quickly snagged the bottle of wine that she had helped herself to with a promise to return with a fresh bottle. At the bar, Olivia looked upset at the realization that Ned and Alexis might be romantically interested in each other.
9/26 At the Jerome apartment, Julian left a frantic message for his sister, asking Ava to return his call because he was worried about her. Moments later, Julian heard a knock at the door. Alarmed, he grabbed his gun then slowly opened the door. A large man sporting dark leather clothing and a menacing expression stood on the doorstep. Julian immediately aimed the gun at the man as he demanded to know who the man was. "Kobe. You can call me your worst nightmare," Kobe answered.
Kobe ignored the gun aimed with deadly accuracy at him as he entered the apartment to explain that he worked for Julian's boss. Kobe revealed that their boss had heard about Julian's trouble with Sonny's men, so Kobe had arrived with a replacement crew. Kobe expected Julian to show his gratitude by revealing where Ava was, but Julian admitted that he had no idea what had happened to Ava as he tucked the gun in the back of his waistband. Julian confessed that Ava hadn't returned any of Julian's calls and that Sonny had denied taking Ava.
Kobe carefully made his way around the apartment, looking for signs of Ava as he explained that their boss was not happy. Julian wasn't concerned because their boss was never happy, but Kobe revealed that their boss had been "itching for a piece" of Ava ever since Ava had had the "stones" to ignore the order to kill Michael Corinthos. Kobe wondered if perhaps Ava might have confided to Julian about the damaging information she had on Sonny, but Julian insisted that Ava had kept her secrets.
Kobe appeared ready to torture the information out of Julian, but Julian assured Kobe that it would be a waste of time. Kobe cornered Julian in an attempt to intimidate Julian as he revealed that Julian had two choices: kill Michael or hand over the goods on Sonny. Julian proved to be a worthy adversary by swiftly overpowering Kobe then snatching the gun from the back of Julian's waistband. Julian growled that he wouldn't think twice about killing Kobe then informed Kobe that Julian, not Kobe, was in charge. Julian clarified that their boss needed Julian far more than Julian needed their boss, so Julian called the shots. Realizing that Julian would not cooperate, Kobe decided to carry out their boss's orders himself.
Julian ordered Kobe to leave, but Jordan marched through the door before Kobe took a step. Kobe immediately recognized the woman who had killed Mickey Diamond, whom Kobe insisted had been "good people." Julian argued that Mickey had been scum, while Jordan added that Mickey hadn't been able to keep his hands to himself. Julian pulled Jordan protectively back as Kobe glared at her. Kobe warned Jordan that their boss had his eye on Jordan then he marched out.
Julian immediately demanded to know if Jordan knew what had happened to Ava. Jordan confessed that she had been in the middle of it then quickly filled him in about the attempted abduction and Ava's accident. Julian seemed relieved when Jordan confessed that she hadn't been in contact with Ava after the accident. Jordan was surprised, but Julian explained that it was safer for Ava because their boss had sent Kobe to kill Michael.
Alexis arrived at Sam’s penthouse with bags of groceries. Patrick helped her carry them to the dinning room table as she revealed that she had wanted to talk to him because she hadn't received the signed divorce papers yet. Patrick admitted that he had spoken to Robin the previous evening, so the papers would arrive soon. Alexis was disappointed because she had hoped that Patrick and Robin would work things out.
Patrick admitted that he had hoped for the same, but the decision had been made. Alexis assured Patrick that he would get past the pain then admitted that she had recently gotten "back on the horse" after her breakup with Julian. Alexis promised Patrick that it wasn't so bad provided the right woman happened along. As if on cue, Sam entered the room. Sam immediately tensed when she noticed her mother's grin, so she asked what Patrick and Alexis had been talking about. Alexis explained that Patrick had simply helped Alexis with the groceries, but Sam knew her mother was hiding something.
Alexis quickly changed the subject by asking if there had been any progress in the investigation into Patrick's crash. Patrick and Sam confirmed that they had learned something interesting then told Alexis about Luke's possible involvement. Stunned, Alexis insisted that it had to be a mistake because she couldn't imagine Luke targeting a child. Patrick and Sam explained that Spencer had seen Luke talking to a mystery man about taking Sonny down, so Luke had threatened Emma to keep Spencer silent. Patrick and Sam confided that Anna had also revealed that Luke was the target of a criminal investigation unrelated to the crash, so Patrick and Sam were desperate to identify the mystery man Spencer had seen Luke talking to.
Sam noticed her mother's tense expression, so Alexis confessed that she might know who Luke had met. Alexis explained that Julian had received a text from someone asking to meet on the night of Nikolas' engagement party. She admitted that Julian had disappeared for quite some time, so she had gone looking for him. Alexis had encountered Ric, but Ric had been alone. However, later, Alexis had bumped into Tracy, who had mentioned seeing Julian and Luke together.
9/29 Julian informed Jordan that Kobe was in Port Charles to kill Michael because Ava had failed to do so. Jordan was horrified that their boss would "take out an innocent kid." Jordan claimed that the hit needed to be stopped because Sonny would retaliate. She reasoned that Michael wasn't even involved in "the business" and that he was Julian's niece's boyfriend. Julian commented that Jordan had the same "misgivings" as Ava. Jordan reminded him that he should have misgivings, as well, after the boss had targeted Lucas.
Patrick suggested to Sam that Julian was working for Luke. Sam wanted to ask Julian point-blank if he was working for Luke. Patrick was skeptical that Julian would give her any information. Though Julian felt guilty for missing most of Sam's life, Patrick didn't think Sam had that much of a hold on Julian. "I do," Alexis stated.
Alexis told Sam and Patrick about Julian's clearly jealous interference during her date with Ned the previous night. She thought that she could use Julian's feelings to get the information out of him, but Sam flat-out refused to allow her mother to do so.
Julian was surprised to open his door to Alexis but invited her in. "I need a drink," she said immediately and walked to the table to make drinks. He said he'd known she wouldn't be able to stay away from him and grabbed her from behind. Getting out of the embrace, Alexis handed him a drink. "To bad boys," she toasted. She admitted that, while Ned was nice, "I want you." She leaned in to kiss him, but he stopped her. "What are you really up to?" he asked. Keeping up the ruse, Alexis chastised him for making things "weird." Julian was suspicious of her complete change of heart. "What do you want?" he asked. "One thing. Are you working for Luke Spencer?" she spat out.
9/30 At the Jerome apartment, Julian questioned Alexis' motives for dropping by because he was reluctant to get his hopes shattered again. Alexis admitted that she wanted to know if he had been reporting to Luke. Julian quickly covered his surprise by scoffing at the suggestion then reminding Alexis that she had lost the right to question him about his private life when she had ended things. Frustrated, Alexis explained that she needed to know for the sake of their daughter, Sam. She revealed that Luke's name had cropped up in the course of Sam and Patrick's investigation into Patrick's crash.
Julian reminded Alexis that Ric Lansing had been the head of the Jerome organization, but Alexis argued that questions had been raised about Luke in part because Alexis recalled that she had seen Ric with Cameron, not Julian on the night of Nikolas' engagement party. Desperate, Alexis reminded Julian that Patrick had lost a son because of the crash, so Julian carefully vowed on their daughter's life that the man Julian answered to was not Luke Spencer. Alexis appeared skeptical, but she thanked him for answering the question then started to leave, but Julian called out to her because he had a question of his own.
At the door, Julian asked Alexis why she had taken it upon herself to question him about Luke instead of leaving it to Sam. Alexis claimed that she had thought that she would have a better chance of getting the truth from Julian than Sam would, but Julian didn't believe Alexis. He admitted he had hated seeing Alexis with another man because he still wanted her then dared Alexis to deny that she still wanted Julian. Alexis's defenses crumbled as she confessed that she couldn't then she kissed Julian.
Things quickly heated up as Julian and Alexis started to tear each other's clothes off as their kisses turned passionate. However, Julian shocked Alexis when he suddenly put the brakes on things because as much as he loved her, he couldn't watch her walk out the door the way that she had the last time. Julian admitted that he wanted her more than any woman he had ever met, but he refused to make love to Alexis if she intended to leave him again. Alexis' eyes glistened with emotion as she repeatedly promised Julian that she wouldn't leave him. Satisfied, Julian kissed Alexis then made love to her.
10/1 In Julian's apartment, Julian spoke to his sister on the phone. He was relieved that Ava was safe, but he decided that it would be best for him not to know where she was because their boss was not pleased with her. Julian confided that their boss had tried to have Michael killed the previous evening then quickly ended the call to join Alexis in bed before Alexis overheard him talking. Julian kissed Alexis awake then made love to her.
Later, Julian asked where Alexis' cell phone was because he expected her to call Ned to make it clear that Alexis and Julian were back together. Alexis smiled as she informed Julian that she would not humor his male pride by making the phone call, but she was eager to call Sam to let their daughter know that Alexis had failed to find out anything useful about Luke. Alexis also decided to check in with Molly. After Alexis slipped out of bed, pulled on Julian's robe, and walked to the living room, Julian called out for her to make some coffee.
Alexis jumped with fright when she entered the living room and heard Sonny quietly ask what she was looking for. "If it's your dignity, you lost that when you crawled back into bed with Julian," Sonny added as he casually reclined in a chair. Furious, Alexis demanded to know how Sonny had gotten into the apartment, but Sonny thought it was obvious. Alexis ordered Sonny to leave as Julian strolled in suggesting that he and Alexis order breakfast. Julian tensed when he saw Sonny, but Sonny cut to the chase by demanding to know what Julian knew about the attack on Michael.
Julian asked Alexis to wait in the bedroom, but Alexis refused to budge until she heard Julian's answer. Moments later, Shawn slipped into the apartment to report that the rest of the guards had been "disposed" of. Alexis was livid, but Sonny invited Julian to tell Alexis why Julian had recently paid Sonny a visit and then explain the threats that Julian had made against Sonny's family. Julian conceded that he had threatened Sonny but only because Sonny had tried to kidnap Ava. Sonny accused Julian of targeting Michael in retaliation for Ava's disappearance, but Julian denied the allegation.
Julian reminded Alexis that Julian knew firsthand what it had been like to watch his son shot and then to sit at Lucas' bedside, holding his son's hand while praying for Lucas to live. Julian insisted that he would never put another father through that, but Sonny scoffed because Sonny was certain that Julian had been behind the attempt on Michael's life. Julian challenged Sonny to provide proof of the allegations. Alexis smirked because she knew that Sonny didn't have anything to definitively point to Julian's guilt because Sonny would have already killed Julian if there had been even a shred of evidence.
Alexis angrily invited Sonny to kill Julian, the only hope for Danny's survival if her grandson should get sick with cancer again. Sonny resented Julian hiding behind Danny, so he vowed to find another donor match for Danny. As Sonny marched to the door, he stopped to inform Alexis that she was fired, and he left. Afterwards, Alexis warned Julian that he had better not be lying to her, or their relationship would be finished.
10/7 At the Jerome apartment, Julian sat on the sofa as he called out to Alexis to hurry because The Golden Girls was about to start. Alexis emerged from the bedroom as she finished getting dressed. She was stunned that Julian wanted to watch the popular sitcom from the 80s and 90s, but Julian unapologetically defended the show that Lucas had gotten him hooked on. Alexis smiled, but she explained that she couldn't stay because she was meeting Ned. Julian's smile instantly vanished as he demanded to know why Alexis was meeting Ned.
Alexis teased Julian about being jealous but explained that she wanted to let Ned know that she and Ned would be better off as friends. She assured him that she wouldn't be gone long, but Julian wasn't satisfied. "Screw that, Ned can wait," Julian said as he kissed Alexis then threw her onto the sofa to make love to her.
Afterwards, a breathless Alexis announced that she needed to grab a quick shower before meeting Ned. Julian was curious why she felt the need for a shower if she only intended to kick Ned to the curb, but Alexis ignored Julian as she went to the bathroom. A short time later, Alexis returned freshly showered. Julian grumbled because she had objected to him joining her in the shower, but Alexis refused to apologize because she knew what would have happened.
After Julian went to shower, Alexis' cell phone rang. It was Sam. Alexis immediately apologized for not getting back to her daughter sooner but quickly confirmed that Julian had not met with Luke in the stables the night of Nikolas' engagement party. Sam carefully revealed that Julian had lied because Tracy had seen Julian and Luke in the stables. Alexis was furious, so she quickly ended the call when she heard Julian return to the living room.
Julian was stunned when Alexis suddenly slapped him then accused him of being a "lying son of a bitch." Julian took a step back as he asked what had gotten into Alexis, so Alexis informed him that she knew the truth; Julian was working for Luke. Julian carefully assured her that she was wrong, but Alexis didn't believe him because Tracy had seen Julian and Luke in the stables. Julian tried to explain that things were complicated, but Alexis wasn't interested in hearing what Julian had to say because she was through with him.
Julian desperately tried to keep Alexis from leaving, but she stormed out of the apartment. Julian immediately called her cell phone then left her a voicemail message warning her that he would continue to call her until she answered because he loved her and refused to accept that they were over.
10/9 At the nurses' station, Alexis asked for the doctor who had agreed to be a consultant on a case. However, Julian marched up to pull Alexis aside before the nurse could page the doctor. Alexis resented Julian bothering her, so she told him to stop leaving her messages and following her around because she had moved on with Ned. Julian refused to accept that it was over, but Alexis was adamant that she wanted to pursue a relationship with Ned because she and Ned had been able to remain connected through the best and worst of times.
"And yet, he wasn't even an afterthought when you and I found each other again," Julian shot back. Alexis insisted that Ned was "unique" in her life, while Julian was a "type." She explained that she had always had a weakness for "arrogant, deceitful, destructive men," like her father, Mikkos; her brothers, Stavros and Stefan; Sonny and Ric; and Jerry Jacks. According to Alexis, Julian was just one of many in a long line of bad choices.
Alexis refused to continue the cycle, but Julian reminded her that they shared a daughter and grandson. Alexis assured Julian that she would not discourage Sam from having a relationship with Julian, but Alexis wanted as little interaction as possible with Julian. Julian warned Alexis that Ned couldn't give her what Julian could. Alexis agreed because with Ned she wouldn't have to live the terror of arriving home to find her house destroyed in an explosion or live with a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach that she had been duped again. She explained that Ned could make her laugh, was an incredible dancer, and reminded her that she was capable of enjoying her life.
10/22 In Sam's penthouse, Alexis played with Danny on the floor until Sam arrived home with Patrick in tow. Sam happily greeted her son then gave Danny a present that she had picked up for him in Amsterdam. After Danny scampered off to play with the new toy, Alexis asked Sam and Patrick about the trip and if they had confirmed that Luke and Julian had been in cahoots. Alexis was shocked when Sam and Patrick revealed that Jerry Jacks had resurfaced claiming to have kidnapped and framed Luke.
Alexis wondered how Jerry had managed to survive polonium poisoning, so Sam and Patrick explained that Jerry had used Luke's antibodies to create a vaccine. Patrick confessed that he had doubts about Jerry's claims, so Sam agreed that there were too many unanswered questions including Spencer's certainty that Luke had met with someone in the stables on the night of Nikolas' engagement party.
Alexis recalled confronting Julian about Tracy finding Luke and Julian meeting in the stables and Julian's emphatic denial that Julian worked for Luke. Alexis admitted to Sam and Patrick that she was tempted to question Julian again, but Alexis didn't see the point, since Julian was untrustworthy. Instead, Alexis decided to pay Ned a visit to warn him that Tracy was looking for controlling shares of ELQ to give to Jerry in exchange for Luke's freedom.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Ned was furious as he read the Port Charles Press, which featured an article about him and Monica. Ned was livid at the implication that he and Monica were having an affair. "Where the hell do they get this?" he muttered in frustration.
"From me," Julian answered as he sauntered in. Outraged, Ned denied having an affair with Monica, so Julian pointed out that nowhere in the article had it been stated that Ned and Monica were sleeping together. However, Julian conceded that he did not know the official definition of "canoodling." Ned explained that he'd had an innocent chat with Monica when he had bumped into her at the restaurant the previous evening, but Julian didn't care because he had two sources to dispute Ned's claims.
Ned was certain that the two "sources" were on Julian's payroll, but Julian merely smiled without denying or confirming Ned's suspicions. Julian cut to the chase by making it clear that Ned would become the subject of a series of unflattering articles unless Ned not only stopped seeing Alexis but left town altogether. Ned flatly refused because his family had lived in Port Charles for generations, but Julian was unapologetic because he knew that Ned had a "pop star" daughter whom Ned could spend time with. Ned warned Julian that the Ashtons were a "tough lot" then threatened to sue Julian for libel.
Julian reminded Ned that the case could be tied up in court for years, while Julian continued to print articles about Ned being a drug addict and pedophile. Julian offered to settle things with their bare hands, so Ned asked if Julian wanted to step outside. Julian readily agreed.
A short time later, Alexis was shocked when she entered the library and saw Ned and Julian brawling with each other. She shouted until she finally gained their attention. "What the hell is wrong with the two of you?" Alexis demanded. Ned and Julian sheepishly greeted Alexis as each man tried to catch his breath. Furious, Alexis dragged Julian outside as Tracy entered the library.
Outside, Alexis blasted Julian for going after Ned. She couldn't understand why Julian couldn't take no for an answer, so Julian admitted that he simply couldn't. "Not when it comes to you," he added.
10/23 On the patio, Alexis blasted Julian for getting into a physical altercation with Ned. She couldn't understand why Julian couldn't take no for an answer, but Julian insisted that it was impossible with Alexis. He dared her to look him in the eyes and tell him that she'd rather be with Ned. Alexis insisted that she and Julian were over because he had lied to her one too many times, but Julian denied that he had lied about working with Luke. Alexis surprised him by admitting that she knew that. However, the truth had been worse; Julian had been working with Jerry Jacks.
Confused, Julian asked what Alexis was talking about, so Alexis told him about Tracy's encounter with Jerry in Amsterdam. Julian conceded that he knew Jerry because it was impossible not to cross paths with Jerry in Julian's line of work. However, Julian assured Alexis that he hadn't seen Jerry in a year when Julian had found Jerry badly injured in an ally after falling from the Metro Court Restaurant's terrace. Julian conceded that he had helped Jerry get help, but Julian had not seen Jerry since that night. Alexis admitted that she wanted to believe Julian, but Ned suddenly appeared flanked by two security guards.
Ned ordered his guards to escort Julian off the premises, but Julian desperately warned Alexis to stay far away from Jerry because Jerry was dangerous. Annoyed, Alexis told the security guards to take Julian away, but Julian assured Ned and Alexis that it wasn't necessary because he was ready to leave.
After Julian left, Ned asked if Alexis was okay. Alexis apologized for what had happened with Julian, but Ned promised Alexis that he didn't blame her. Alexis hugged Ned in gratitude just as Olivia walked up.
10/27 Alexis, who was texting while walking, bumped right into Olivia at Kelly's. Olivia explained how she had done the exact same thing to Ned a few days earlier at their class. Alexis thought it was nice that Olivia and Ned were taking the class together. Ned had asked Alexis to join, but she remarked that she was "allergic to exercise." Alexis wondered why Ned had missed the class. "So, he wasn't with you?" Olivia asked innocently. Alexis informed Olivia that Tracy had gotten herself into a bad situation, so that was probably why Ned had missed the class.
10/31 In Anna's office, Julian was curious why Anna had asked to see him. He doubted that she wanted to discuss his social calendar, so Anna explained that she had been looking for Ava. Julian wondered why the police commissioner would want to talk to his sister because, to the best of his knowledge, Ava had kept "relatively clean" for quite some time. Anna revealed that Ava was a suspect in A.J.'s murder, but Julian scoffed at the suggestion that his sister had killed A.J. Julian revealed that his sister had not pulled the trigger but Ava knew who had.
Anna was curious what Julian knew about A.J.'s death, but Julian received a call. He sent the call to voicemail then wrapped up his meeting with Anna by making it clear that he had nothing to say to her because he had learned his lesson that it was a mistake to help the police.
Later, Alexis arrived at the hospital with Danny and ran into Julian on his way to Silas' office. Alexis quietly confessed that she couldn't understand how their grandson could be sick when Danny seemed so healthy. Julian agreed.
11/5 In Silas' office, Alexis, Julian, and Sam watched Danny sleep peacefully on the sofa as they waited for Silas to return with the results of Danny's recent tests. Frustrated that they didn't have answers yet, Sam decided to track Silas down. After Sam left, Alexis and Julian agreed that the possible return of Danny's cancer was a nightmare. Alexis feared that the test results had been correct, but Julian assured Alexis that he would do everything in his power to help Danny.
Alexis pointed out that Julian hadn't banked his bone marrow as Silas had asked, so Julian reminded Alexis that Sonny had threatened to kill Julian if had banked the bone marrow for Danny. However, Julian had decided that Danny was more important than Sonny's threat, so Julian intended to bank the bone marrow. Alexis admitted that it was dangerous because she knew Sonny. "He will kill you," Alexis warned Julian, but Julian was willing to do whatever was necessary for Danny and Alexis.
11/10 Sam thanked Alexis and Julian for supporting her and Danny at the hospital. Julian assured Sam that, even if Danny's leukemia returned, Silas had Julian's bone marrow sample. Sam had faith in Silas to successfully store the bone marrow. Sam wanted to take Danny home, so she picked him up and left. Ned entered and apologized to Alexis for not being there sooner. He blamed a "family crisis."
Alexis assured Ned that Danny was going to be all right and asked him about the Quartermaine crisis. Ned told her the whole story of Larry returning to Port Charles. Ned related that Julian and Jerry were "thick as thieves" and asked Julian to "fill in the blanks." Julian replied that he hadn't seen Jerry in a long time and that he hoped it stayed that way. Ned had to get back to his house, so he kissed Alexis and left.
A surprised Julian couldn't believe that Alexis was staying with Ned after her "breakthrough" with Julian. She accused him of being jealous. He wanted her "back where you belong." She admitted that she loved Julian, but with the combination of his lies, his refusal to leave the mob, and the danger he put Alexis' family in, she couldn't be with him. Until he decided to "rectify the situation," she asked him to respect her wishes and leave her
alone.
11/13 Alexis arrived at the PCPD. Sonny immediately asked if the baby had been found, but Alexis quietly admitted that Nina had managed to evade the police and had disappeared with the baby again. However, Alexis added that Madeline had been found in the motel where Nina had been hiding out, so everyone was hopeful that Madeline would be able to provide the police with crucial information that would lead to the return of the missing newborn.
Sonny begged Alexis to get him out of jail, but Alexis reminded Sonny that he had fired her because of her association with Julian. Sonny was certain that they could work something out as long as Alexis got Sonny out of jail, but Alexis explained that she couldn't work for Sonny because it would be a conflict of interest, since she was there to help Duke. Sonny became emotional as he insisted that he needed to find the baby, so Alexis advised Sonny to call Diane then ordered a guard to have Duke taken to a private room so Duke and Alexis could speak privately.
Duke was escorted through the squad room with Alexis trailing behind. Anna seemed surprised that Duke had hired Alexis, but Duke confessed that Lucy had retained Alexis' services. In the interrogation room, Alexis strongly advised Duke that the only way to avoid jail time was to testify against Sonny.
11/14 In the interrogation room, Alexis advised Duke to testify against Sonny, but Duke pointed out that it shouldn't be necessary, since Scott had a video confession of Sonny admitting to shooting A.J. Alexis explained that any district attorney worth their grain of salt would want corroborating evidence which Duke's testimony would provide. Alexis insisted that she could argue that Duke had lied because he had been in fear for his life, but Duke scoffed at the suggestion then made it clear that he would not roll on Sonny. Alexis warned Duke that she might not be able to work out a deal for Duke to avoid jail time if he didn't work with the district attorney, but Duke refused to budge.
11/18 Alexis arrived at PCPD and wished Diane luck as the women passed each other in lockup. Sonny noticed that Duke wasn't with Alexis, so Alexis revealed that she had tried to help Duke by urging him to turn against Sonny. However, Duke had refused to roll on Sonny, so the judge had sent Duke to Pentonville until Duke's trial. Sonny's outrage turned to horror when Alexis added that Carly might meet the same fate as Duke. Alexis warned Sonny that Sonny was going down and that he would take everyone with him if he allowed them to continue to lie for him.
11/19 In Anna's office, Anna sat behind her desk as two police officers escorted Julian to a chair. Julian demanded to know why his apartment had been searched and why he had been taken into custody, so Anna explained that she had reason to believe that Julian had helped Ava escape. Julian denied that he would help his sister leave the hospital because Ava was in need of medical care after recently giving birth. He was outraged that Anna was more interested in finding Ava than in searching for his missing niece who was in the hands of a "sociopath and a madwoman."
Anna assured Julian that she had every available police officer looking for the missing newborn then returned to the topic of Ava because Anna had a recording of Ava confessing to Connie's murder. Julian feigned shock and disbelief, but Anna easily saw through the deception because she knew that Ava had killed Connie to stop Connie from revealing that Derek Wells had been Julian's alias. Julian assured Anna that he had been in the dark about Ava's crime, but Anna didn't believe him so she decided to send him to lockup. Julian accused Anna of abusing her power, but she reminded him that she had forty-eight hours to hold him before charging him with a crime.
11/20 In the police station's lockup, Julian did abdominal crunches as his thoughts lingered on Alexis and her warning that he leave her alone unless he was willing to be completely honest with her.
Moments later, Olivia marched up to Julian's jail cell to demand to know where Ava was because Olivia wanted Ava prosecuted for murdering Connie. Julian calmly explained that he had no idea where Ava was. He admitted that he was sorry for Olivia's loss, but he assured her that he'd had no idea that Ava had murdered Connie.
Olivia didn't believe Julian because she knew that Ava had killed Connie to protect his identity. Olivia was shocked when Julian confessed that he only knew that Ava had shot Olivia but not that Ava had murdered Connie. He rushed to assure Olivia that Ava had acted alone in both shootings, but he conceded that he had kept his sister's secret, so he didn't blame Olivia for not believing him.
"I believe you," Lucas said as he arrived to visit his father. The guard glared at Olivia because Olivia hadn't signed in on the visitor's log, so Olivia informed the guard that Detective Falconeri was her son. After Olivia left, Julian asked if Lucas truly believed Julian. Lucas admitted that he was willing to give Julian the benefit of the doubt, so he offered to call Alexis to get Julian out of jail. Julian confessed that Alexis had made it clear that she didn't want anything to do with Julian until he was willing to be upfront with her about the people that Julian worked for.
Lucas advised Julian to give Alexis what she wanted if Julian loved Alexis, but Julian argued that it wasn't that simple. According to Julian, it was because he loved her that he couldn't be honest with Alexis. Julian explained that he was willing to do whatever was necessary to protect his family, especially after witnessing Lucas' shooting. Startled, Lucas wondered if Julian were suggesting that someone other than Ric had issued the order to kill Lucas. Julian insisted that Lucas was best off not knowing, so Lucas let the matter drop, but he urged his father to be honest with Alexis because Lucas knew that Julian loved her.
Ned and Alexis entered the room. Ned introduced Alexis to his father, so Larry turned on the charm as he greeted Alexis. However, Larry quickly added that he couldn't stay because he had an appointment with the dentist. Ned was immediately suspicious that his father had found a dentist during the short time that Larry had been in town, but Larry stuck to his story. Unmoved, Ned insisted that Larry reschedule the dentist appointment because Larry owed Ned a favor for the years that Ned had been "stashed away" in boarding school.
Later, Alexis admitted that the food was delicious. Larry agreed then added that he intended to compliment "Hobson." Confused, Alexis asked who Hobson was, so Larry explained that he had meant "Dobson." "It's Alice," Ned and Tracy corrected Larry in unison. "Well, then who the blazes is Dobson?" Larry asked. "I am," Alexis
answered.
Alexis explained to Larry why she had spent months posing as a Quartermaine butler named Dobson to be close to her daughter, Kristina. Larry was impressed that Alexis had managed to pursue her own agenda under the Quartermaines' noses without anyone realizing it. Before anyone could reply, Olivia ran into the living room, desperate to talk to Ned.
Ned immediately noticed that Olivia was upset, so she revealed that she had heard the news that Ava had killed her cousin. Ned regretted that he hadn't realized that Ava's confession hadn't just impacted the Quartermaines by clearing A.J.'s name, so Olivia added that she had also learned from Alexis' ex-boyfriend, Julian, that Ava had also been responsible for shooting Olivia. Alexis was stunned when Olivia mentioned that Julian was in jail on suspicion of aiding and abetting Ava's escape.
In lockup, Julian resumed his workout until he saw Alexis approach his jail cell.
11/21 At the police station's lockup, Julian was surprised that Alexis had stopped by, so she credited Lucas for being persuasive. Alexis warned Julian that if he had hoped that she would legally represent him, then he had wasted his time because she refused to have anything to do with Julian until he could be completely honest with her. Julian assured her that he knew what her conditions were and was ready to meet them.
Alexis pointed out that she had heard the same thing from Julian before, but it had been a lie. Julian conceded that she had a right not to trust him, but he assured her that he meant it. He explained that it had taken him getting thrown into jail again for him to appreciate that he had squandered some things. Julian assured Alexis that he loved her and that his life was richer with her in it, so he was ready to name names because he couldn't imagine his life without Alexis.
Julian admitted that he had met his boss in the stables on the night of Nikolas' engagement party, so Alexis reminded him that he had denied meeting with Luke Spencer in the stables. Julian confessed that he hadn't technically lied, but Alexis was tired of Julian's cryptic words and evasive answers. She demanded to know if it was true that Luke had done all of the horrible things that Julian's boss had been accused of. Julian explained that it wasn't that simple because someone had taken Luke Spencer's place, so the man that everyone believed was Luke Spencer was not really Luke.
11/24 Julian told Alexis that someone "stole Luke's place." Alexis wondered who the impostor was, and she wasn't surprised when Julian admitted that he didn't know. He assured Alexis that she would believe him when he told her the entire story. He started that, while in the Witness Protection Program, he'd met a man named Peter Caspen, who was also in the program. Peter, which had been the man's alias, had told Julian that he'd also lived in Port Charles.
Julian continued that the man had had big plans to rebuild the Jerome family and take Sonny out. The man had also said that there was a man in the town that looked exactly like him, and the man had insinuated that he'd had plastic surgery. When the man had failed to take over ELQ, he "became a monster." That had been around the time Julian had fallen for Alexis. He'd wanted a normal life with his "beautiful family," so he'd told the man that he wanted out of the business. The man had retaliated by shooting Lucas.
"You told the police that Ric ordered the hit on Lucas," Alexis accused. He admitted that he'd known that Ric was innocent, but his boss hadn't given Julian a choice -- he'd had to find a "fall guy, and Ric fit the bill." "My daughter's father is dead because of you," Alexis murmured. Julian informed her that, if he hadn't framed Ric, his boss would have killed Julian's entire family. He begged her to understand. She wondered where his boss was. "Get me out of here, and I'll take you to him," he said.
11/25 Outside Anna's office, Alexis spoke to Sam on the phone to let Sam know that Alexis would be tied up with a client for the rest of the day. Sam was disappointed that she and Danny wouldn't be spending Thanksgiving with Alexis, but Sam appreciated that Alexis had a job to do. After Alexis ended the call, she entered Anna's office.
Anna looked up when Alexis entered the office to ask for Anna to release Julian. Anna was surprised that Alexis had agreed to help Julian, but Alexis explained that everyone was entitled to a defense. Alexis reminded Anna that Julian had been held for nearly forty-eight hours without being charged with a crime, so Anna argued that there was still time to press charges against him. Alexis was confident that Anna would have already arrested Julian if Anna had had sufficient evidence to support the theory that Julian had aided and abetted Ava's escape.
Alexis was pleased when Anna agreed to cut Julian loose, but Anna hoped that, for whatever reason Alexis had decided to help Julian, it was worth it. Alexis smiled politely without replying then walked to the door just as Agent Kyle Sloane prepared to enter Anna's office. Sloane recognized Alexis, whose impressive reputation as a litigator had preceded her. Alexis smiled awkwardly, thanked Sloane when he complimented her, and then left.
Nearby, Julian thanked Alexis for getting him released from jail. Alexis explained that she had done it for Luke because if what Julian had told her was true then Luke needed help. Julian worried that Alexis might have said something to Anna, but Alexis assured him that she hadn't. However, Alexis demanded to know where Luke was. Julian insisted that he show her because she would never be able to get to Luke without his help.
Meanwhile, an orderly greeted Julian and Alexis when they arrived at Miscavige. Julian explained that they were there to visit the special guest but asked the orderly for privacy. The orderly pointed out Luke's cell then walked away. Alexis demanded to know how long Luke had been at Miscavige, so Julian explained the double had taken Luke's place when "Luke" had been rescued from the institute nearly a year before. Shocked, Alexis marched to the door, determined to free Luke immediately.
Alexis was startled when she opened the door just as Helena exited. "Well, hello, Natasha," Helena greeted Alexis. Julian's brow furrowed with confusion because he had no idea who Helena was. Alexis remained focused on Helena as she confessed that she had known the reports of Helena's demise had been too good to be true because Helena never died. Helena admitted that Alexis had always been too smart for Alexis' own good and a perpetual thorn in Helena's side.
Helena admitted that nothing would please her more than to slit Alexis' throat just like Helena had done to Alexis' "insipid" mother. Julian growled a warning for Helena to back off, so Helena turned her attention to him. Helena chuckled because she thought that Alexis' new "suitor" was in way over his head. However, Helena announced that she had to go, so she asked "Natasha" to pass along her regards to Alexis' beautiful daughters. Alexis ignored the veiled threat as Julian questioned who the woman had been.
Alexis revealed that they had just encountered Helena Cassadine then quickly entered Luke's cell but stopped short in the doorway. "Oh, my God," Alexis said at the sight that greeted her eyes.
11/26 At Miscavige, Alexis became concerned when she saw Luke confined to a straitjacket as he lay still on the bed. She immediately rushed to his side as Julian watched from the doorway. Luke groggily opened his eyes. "Natasha?" Luke asked as Alexis helped Luke sit up then immediately went to work on freeing him from the straitjacket. Alexis confessed that she had feared that Helena had killed him, so Luke admitted that Helena had tried until Luke had persuaded the deadly Cassadine matriarch that he could still be of use to his double.
Alexis revealed that Julian had told her about Luke's doppelgänger and Luke's captivity. Luke's head turned to the doorway as he realized that Julian had been quietly standing there and watching. Luke immediately accused Julian of being in cahoots with the man who had taken over Luke's life, so Alexis suggested that Julian leave for his own safety. Julian refused, but he agreed to clear the way for Alexis and Luke to leave without any interference from the institution's staff.
Before Julian walked away, he explained to Luke that it had been necessary to work with the impostor because the man had tried to kill Lucas and had threatened the lives of everyone Julian loved. Alexis appeared moved by the genuine emotion in Julian's voice as he admitted that he had done what had been necessary to protect his family. Luke became concerned about his nephew, but Alexis assured Luke that Lucas was fine.
After Julian walked away, Alexis finally managed to free Luke from the straitjacket. She was eager to take him to the hospital, but Luke refused to spend another minute in a medical facility, so she implored him to at least stop by the police station to tell Anna what had happened.
Alexis walked into the Q’s. Ned was surprised that she had made it, so she announced that she had been accompanied by someone who had wanted to see everyone. Tracy's face lit with joy when Luke entered the room. "Did you save a slice for me?" Luke asked as he winked at Tracy.
At the Webber residence, Jake greeted the woman on Elizabeth's doorstep, unaware that she was Helena Cassadine. Helena introduced herself as a family friend, so Jake introduced himself as he invited Helena inside. Jake offered to fetch Elizabeth, but Helena assured him that it wasn't necessary because Helena wanted an opportunity to get to know Jake better. Jake wondered if he had met Helena before because she seemed familiar. Helena smiled pleasantly but didn't offer her name, so Jake decided to get Elizabeth.
12/1 Alexis announced to the Quartermaines that there was someone who would like to see them. Just then, Luke entered the room. Tracy stood open-mouthed, Lulu smiled, and the rest of the family was clearly shocked. Tracy hugged Luke and told him how she'd missed him. He went to hug Lulu, but Dante stopped him. He wanted answers from Luke. Dante told Luke what he was being investigated for, but Luke had no idea what Dante was talking about. Alexis told the family the entire story and finished by telling them that Luke's "impostor was committing crimes in Luke's name."
Ned clarified that Luke hadn't been the one to make "inappropriate sexual advance on Kiki Jerome." "Who?" Luke answered. Ned also clarified that Luke hadn't been the one to threaten to kill Ned. Luke admitted that he liked Ned. Tracy, realizing that she'd married an impostor, felt ill. Everyone wondered how there could be another Luke. "Ask Larry," Lulu said. She announced that Sam and Patrick had overheard Larry on the phone, conspiring with Jerry about dealing with their "Luke problem."
Larry tried to leave, but Dante wouldn't let him. Lulu continued that Sam had broken into Larry's safe deposit box and had retrieved a file on Faison with "elaborate blueprints" for making a mask like Faison's Duke mask. Luke disclosed that his impostor had visited him at Miscavige and had gone on and on about Larry.
Larry denied being involved and poured himself a drink. Ned suggested that Larry drop the "drunk act" because his cover had been blown. Larry pushed a chair over and ran out of the house. Dante quickly followed. A few minutes later, Dante returned to the house and told everyone that Larry had had a getaway car waiting for him. He called the police station to put out an APB on Larry.
Julian entered Ava's penthouse and thought that the figure sitting on the couch was Ava. He turned on the lights and saw that it was Jordan. Jordan revealed that she was there to talk about their boss. She claimed that the boss had put her in charge of a large shipment from Colombia, so she deserved to know who he was if she was taking that big of a risk. He believed that she did deserve to know. Surprising her, Julian thought she should know because the entire town would soon know.
Julian started that, when Jordan had thought she'd heard Luke's voice on the phone, she had. She was proud of herself for being right, but Julian admitted that it hadn't actually been Luke. He explained about Luke and his impostor to a confused Jordan. Julian concluded that he needed to leave before the cops caught on and arrested him. He thanked Jordan for being "a hell of a soldier," and she left. Later, Julian carried a bag and was just about to leave the penthouse when Luke's impostor entered. "Going somewhere?" the impostor said, pointing a gun at Julian.
12/2 At the Quartermaine mansion, Luke suggested that he and Dante "saddle up" to find the man that had been passing himself off as Luke. Dante assured Luke that the PCPD had everything well in hand, but Luke didn't have much faith in the police department, since they had failed to realize that someone had been masquerading as
Luke.
Dante insisted that there had been no way for anyone to know that, but Luke disagreed because Luke would never have crossed the street to spit on Julian if Julian had been on fire much less be in cahoots with the man. Luke urged Dante to arrest Julian because, at the very least, Julian had known all along that Luke had been held captive at Miscavige for the past ten months. Dante conceded that Luke had a point, so he excused himself to call Anna.
Alexis overhears Ned confess to Olivia that he couldn't believe that his father had been caught up in the sordid situation with Luke's impostor. Ned admitted that he had expected it of Julian but not Larry. Alexis overheard what Ned said, but she defended Julian. Alexis insisted that Julian had been under duress the entire time because the man posing as Luke had been calling all of the shots and had threatened Julian's family.
Ned resented Alexis defending Julian, but Alexis warned Ned to be prepared for the possibility that Larry Ashton had been behind the plot. Ned's temper flared, so Alexis decided that it was time for her to leave because she didn't want to spend Thanksgiving arguing with Ned.
At the Jerome apartment, Julian's exit was blocked when the man passing himself off as Luke stepped out of the shadows with a gun aimed at Julian. The impostor had an accent as he revealed that he intended to kill Julian, but Julian warned the man that the impostor wouldn't get away with the murder because Julian's men would hunt the impostor down. The impostor sneered as he reminded Julian that Julian's men answered to the impostor not Julian. The impostor conceded that the only person who might make a move against him was Julian's sister, but Ava was busy with her own problems.
The impostor was furious that Julian had betrayed him by taking Alexis to Miscavige to rescue Luke because it had ruined all of the impostor's carefully laid plans. Julian insisted that the impostor only had himself to blame because the impostor had never fully trusted or confided the plans to Julian. Julian pointed out that he didn't even know the man's real name.
"Is that your dying wish?" the impostor asked. The man was about to reveal who he was when Dante and Anna suddenly kicked the front door in then entered with their guns at the ready. Dante and Anna stopped short when they saw a man who appeared to be Luke holding a gun aimed at Julian, so the impostor seized the advantage by trying to pass himself off as Luke. Dante easily saw through the lie because Dante knew that the real Luke was at the Quartermaine mansion.
The impostor insisted that he was Luke, so Anna decided to take both the man with Luke's face and Julian into custody. Julian carefully stepped out of the way as Dante disarmed the impostor then handcuffed the man. Anna demanded to know who they were arresting, but the impostor refused to cooperate.
Julian warned Anna that the man would not give his name, but Anna wasn't concerned because she had a way of finding out who the impostor was. The impostor noted that Anna had grown "ruthless" since their last "date," but Dante suggested that Anna simply remove the mystery man's mask. After Anna ripped off the mask, Julian, Dante, and Anna stared at the man with shock. "Oh, my God," Anna said.
12/3 At Kelly's, Alexis stood outside as she watched Molly seated at a table inside the diner, studying. Alexis' expression was troubled as she recalled Julian's confession that Ric had never been the head of the Jerome organization, which meant that Ric had died an innocent man because of Julian. Alexis pushed the memory away, took a deep breath, and entered the diner.
After Alexis and Molly exchanged greetings, Alexis asked about Molly's day. Molly confessed that she and T.J. had gone to the movies instead of having Thanksgiving dinner with Shawn and Jordan and that T.J. had returned to his dorm, so Molly had decided to drop by Kelly's to study for a while, since Sam's place was too hectic to concentrate. Molly asked about Alexis' Thanksgiving, so Alexis revealed that she and Julian had rescued Luke, who had been held captive at Miscavige for the past ten months.
Alexis filled Molly in about the man posing as Luke then quietly confessed that Molly had been right about Ric because Julian had admitted that the impostor, not Ric, had been the head of the Jerome organization. Alexis apologized as she reached for her daughter, but Molly angrily jerked away. "Don't touch me," Molly hissed. Molly resented that Alexis had taken Julian's word over Molly's because Ric might not have died if Alexis had agreed to represent Ric.
Alexis admitted that she wished that she could take it all back because it had been wrong of her to trust Julian, but Molly wasn't satisfied. Alexis assured Molly that she loved Molly, so Molly grudgingly admitted that she loved Alexis, too, but Molly needed some time alone because Molly couldn't look at her mother without seeing the image of Ric in a body bag.
At the Jerome apartment, Anna stared at Cesar Faison with a mixture of disgust and horror as she held the mask of Luke's face that Faison had been wearing. Julian had no idea who the man under the mask was, so Dante filled Julian in about Faison. Faison appeared glib as he tried to taunt Anna, but Dante vowed to make certain that Faison remained behind bars for the rest of Faison's life. Faison blamed Anna for everything that had transpired, but Anna advised Faison not to say anything because it could be held against him.
Faison was curious when Anna had become concerned about his rights because she hadn't been worried about them when she had "tortured" him in her private "Gitmo" on Spoon Island. Frowning, Dante asked Anna if what Faison had said was true. Anna's eyes filled with tears as she shook her head, but Faison warned Anna not to lie to Dante. Anna promised to explain everything to Dante later, but Dante assured her that it wasn't necessary because he might have done the same thing if their roles had been reversed.
However, Dante decided that it would be best for him to arrest Faison, so he handcuffed Faison then recited the Miranda Rights to Faison as he led the criminal out. Julian quickly assured Anna that he'd had no idea that the man posing as Luke had been Faison, but Anna was unmoved because Julian had known that Luke had been held captive at Miscavige for months. Julian explained that he hadn't been able to tell anyone because Faison had shot Lucas and had threatened the rest of Julian's family when Julian had tried to leave the mob.
Julian was certain that Anna could appreciate that Faison would have carried out the threats, but Anna handcuffed Julian. He insisted that he had done what had been necessary to protect his family, so Anna reminded him that Luke hadn't been the only victim to pay a price because Ric's life had been destroyed by Julian's lies. Julian promised that he had never intended to frame Ric and that he had felt terrible for Molly's loss, but Julian hadn't been able to risk everyone's lives for Ric's sake. Anna suggested that Julian talk to his attorney then escorted him out of the apartment.
At the police station, Alexis was waiting in the squad room when Anna arrived with Julian. Anna ordered a police officer to book Julian, so Julian was carted away before he could say anything to Alexis. Anna warned Alexis that it would be awhile before Alexis could talk to Julian, but Alexis explained that she wasn't there to represent Julian. Alexis revealed that she had just spent the better part of an hour breaking the news to Molly that Ric had died an innocent man. Alexis wanted answers, so Anna quietly confided that she had something to tell Alexis. Anna pulled Alexis to a quiet corner then revealed that Ric was alive.
12/9 Alexis went to Kelly's, looking for Molly, but Molly was not there, so Alexis approached Maxie to ask if Maxie had seen Molly. Maxie hadn't noticed if Molly had been at the diner because Maxie had been working on a project, but Maxie sensed that Alexis was upset. Alexis recalled Anna confiding that Ric was alive, but she opted not to share the news with Maxie. However, Alexis asked Maxie to keep an eye out for Molly in case Molly showed up. Maxie agreed to keep Molly at the diner until Alexis returned.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Olivia appeared on the verge of opening up to Ned about her feelings for him, but Alexis suddenly flipped on the light as she entered the room. Alexis immediately apologized for interrupting, but Ned grumbled because he and Olivia had been in the middle of something. Olivia began to babble about the movie then quickly excused herself to fetch more popcorn.
After Olivia left the room, Ned asked why Alexis had stopped by. Alexis confessed that she had wanted to apologize to him because he had been right to call her out for defending Julian on Thanksgiving. Ned relaxed as he admitted that he had been wrong to get defensive about his father, Larry, since it was clear that his father was up to no good. Alexis smiled when Ned suggested that he and Alexis call it even. Alexis confessed that a part of her had wanted to believe that there had been good in Julian to justify falling in love with him.
However, Alexis realized that she had been wrong about Julian because Julian had framed an innocent man by claiming that Ric had been the head of the Jerome organization. Ned was stunned when Alexis confided that Ric was alive. She feared that Ric being alive wouldn't matter to Molly because Alexis had hurt Molly by taking Julian's word over her own daughter's. Ned was confident that Molly would forgive Alexis, but Alexis remained skeptical.
Alexis shifted gears to confess that Ned meant a lot to her, so she looked forward to seeing where their relationship might take them provided he could forgive her. Ned smiled as he assured Alexis that there had been nothing to forgive. Alexis leaned forward to kiss Ned just as Olivia returned to the living room.
12/12 At the local jail, Julian was working out when the guard announced that he had a visitor. Julian smiled when he saw Alexis, but she coldly asked him to put on his shirt. Julian teasingly wondered if his shirtless state had aroused some emotions in Alexis, but she warned him that she was not there to banter with him. Her expression remained serious as she explained that she wanted to talk about her daughter.
Julian immediately pulled on a shirt as he asked if Sam and Danny were okay. Alexis reminded Julian that she had three daughters then clarified that she hadn't been referring to Sam. Julian realized that Alexis had been talking about Molly, so he reminded Alexis that he had never intended for Ric to die. Alexis snidely assured him that she knew Julian felt as if he hadn't had a choice in framing Ric, but Julian promised Alexis that he took full responsibility for his role in Ric's death.
"Ric is alive," Alexis revealed. Julian listened in stunned disbelief as Alexis explained that Ric's death had been a ruse to flush out Julian's boss then added that Ric had agreed to go into the Witness Protection Program to keep his family safe. Julian was relieved that he wouldn't have to continue to carry the burden of Ric's death on his conscience, but Alexis warned Julian not to be too hasty because Ric had vanished. She explained that she had been about to tell Molly that Ric was alive when Anna had called to reveal that Ric's handlers had gone to retrieve Ric and discovered that Ric's apartment had been in shambles and Ric had been gone.
Alexis demanded to know if Julian knew anything about Ric's disappearance, but Julian denied any involvement. Alexis appeared skeptical, so Julian pointed out that he hadn't even known that Ric had been alive until Alexis had told him. Alexis wondered if it was possible that Cesar Faison had taken Ric, but Julian doubted it. Julian explained that Faison had never hinted at suspecting that Ric was alive and that it was unlikely that Faison would risk being captured to snatch a man who had merely been a patsy.
Julian begged Alexis to help him get out of jail, but she suggested that he call Diane. Julian admitted that he had, but Diane had claimed that it would be a conflict of interest to represent him. Alexis was confident that Julian would find someone else because Julian always looked out for number one -- Julian. Julian insisted that she was his number one priority, but Alexis walked away.
A short time later, Carlos approached Julian's jail cell. Julian was surprised that Carlos was out of jail, so Carlos smiled as he vowed that Julian would be the next to get out of jail.
Meanwhile, Alexis went to Metro Court Restaurant for a drink. Carly smiled as she handed Alexis the martini that Jake had made.
12/15 Olivia stepped out of the elevator at the Metro Court's restaurant and immediately spotted Ned and Alexis sitting down to breakfast. Ned asked Alexis if there were any updates on Ric. She informed him that the search was "ongoing," and Julian claimed ignorance about what had happened to Ric. Ned told her that she didn't have to hide it when she went to see Julian, but the next time she went to see him, Ned wanted to be there.
Just then, Olivia cheerfully walked over to take their orders. Alexis thought it was impressive that Olivia had no pen or paper. Olivia perfectly recited what Ned was going to order then what Alexis was going to order, only mistaking eggs over-medium for eggs over-easy. "I don't know what made me think you're easy!" Olivia called out as she dashed away to the kitchen.
Alexis wondered if Ned had noticed the tension between her and Olivia. She wondered why it seemed like Olivia was mad at her. A short while later, Olivia served Ned and Alexis their food. As an apology for the mix-up with Alexis' order, Olivia gave Alexis some lox "on the house." Alexis admitted that she wasn't a fan of lox. Olivia picked the lox back up and rationalized that when one thought of Alexis, "cold fish" popped into her mind. She tried to dash away again, but Alexis grabbed her.
"Have I offended you in some way?" Alexis inquired of Olivia. Olivia admitted that she had a problem with both Ned and Alexis. She believed that they were wrong for each other but that Olivia and Ned would make a "great" couple. She accused Alexis of using Ned to get over Julian and told Ned that she was falling for him. Just then, Alexis snapped Olivia out of her daydream. Olivia insisted that she had no problem with Alexis and ran off.
Julian was led into the courtroom, where he was told to wait for the judge to finish up with a meeting. Carlos was there and informed Julian that his bail money had been taken care of. After being questioned, Carlos admitted that he was working for Johnny. He explained that Johnny was trying to put together an alliance between the Zaccharas, the Jeromes, and the Corinthoses to "take over the entire eastern seaboard."
Julian hinted that he didn't want to get involved because of Alexis, but Carlos reminded Julian that Alexis wanted nothing to do with him. He continued that "guys like us don't get happy endings." He instructed Julian to enjoy the rush of power while they were still alive to enjoy it. He urged Julian to plead "not guilty, and we'll take care of the rest."
A few minutes later, the judge read all the charges against Julian and asked for Julian's plea. "Not guilty," Julian stated, to Carlos' glee. The judge set bail, and Julian's lawyer took the money from Carlos so that Julian could go free. Carlos told Julian that they would be the "kings of Port Charles."
As Carlos left, Alexis entered. She was surprised that Julian had made bail, since Julian's assets had been frozen. She suggested that Carlos' associates had the money and accused him of being "back in the business." He reminded her that she'd told him that they had no future. "I have nothing to lose anymore," he said and walked away.
12/16 Maxie was horrified when she saw a text message from Diane explaining that Diane would be unable to attend the custody hearing because Diane had been tied up at court with another case.
Maxie's despair turned to surprise when Alexis suddenly rushed into the courtroom, explaining that Diane had asked Alexis to step in. Maxie appreciated Alexis' offer but Maxie questioned the wisdom of being represented by someone who had successfully argued that Maxie had been an unfit mother during Dante and Lulu's bid for custody of Georgie. Alexis assured Maxie that everything would be fine, but Maxie didn't have an opportunity to respond because Judge Walters entered the courtroom.
Judge Walters immediately demanded to know where Diane was, so Alexis explained that Diane hadn't been stuck in court on another case. Judge Walters was curious why Alexis would represent a woman that Alexis had established had been an unfit mother, so Alexis explained that Maxie had made great strides in the past year to establish that she was fit to be a parent to Georgie. Judge Walters conceded that Maxie had met all the court's requirements except for one. Alexis was stunned when the judge informed Alexis that Maxie had been ordered to stay away from Nathan two months earlier when the judge had seen Maxie out with Nathan.
Alexis objected to the judge making a ruling that hadn't been part of a court record, but Judge Walters ignored her as he confronted Maxie about ignoring his warning. He revealed that he had seen Maxie leaving Nathan's hospital room the previous day, so Maxie pointed out that she had been volunteering at the hospital, which she had done for the past decade. Maxie agreed that she had entered Nathan's hospital room to deliver flowers but she insisted she had left as soon as she had realized that Nathan was the patient. The judge wondered if Maxie's encounter with Nathan at Volonino's gym weeks earlier had also been a coincidence.
Maxie was startled when the court officer stepped up to confirm that she had seen Maxie and Nathan together at the gym. Maxie's surprise turned to dread when the judge admitted that he also knew that Maxie had spent time with Nathan on Beggars' Night, which was the third strike. Alexis sputtered with outrage when Judge Walters denied Maxie's petition for visitation with Georgie then agreed to revisit the issue in another six months. Alexis warned the judge that she intended to file an appeal because the judge had acted inappropriately, but Judge Walters banged the gavel to call an end to the proceedings.
12/18 In Nathan's hospital room, Alexis apologized to Nathan for failing to persuade the judge to grant Maxie visitation with Georgie. Nathan was upset because he believed the judge had abused his powers by trying to grind "some petty ax" with Maxie. Alexis explained that she had filed an appeal, but beyond that, it would be futile to pursue a complaint against the judge. Nathan was disappointed because he had promised Maxie that she would get to spend Christmas with Georgie, so Alexis assured him that she would keep fighting for Maxie.
Nathan changed the subject by confessing that he'd had another reason for wanting to see Alexis; he wanted her to represent his sister, Nina, in court. Alexis was reluctant to agree because Nina had hurt Sam in the past, but Nathan explained that his sister was a troubled person in large part due to the things that Madeline had done.
Alexis was surprised when he reminded Alexis of their Cassadine connection then mentioned her sister, Kristina, by asking what Alexis would do if Alexis could go back in time. Nathan smiled with relief when Alexis admitted that she would do everything possible to save Kristina. Alexis reluctantly agreed to represent Nina, but she refused to make any promises that she couldn't keep. Nathan wished that he had done the same before assuring Maxie that Maxie would spend Christmas with Georgie.
Julian entered Johnny Zacchara's old auto shop as Carlos welcomed his boss with a fond smile. Julian was curious why they were there, so Carlos revealed that Johnny had sent a special delivery then opened the trunk of a car. "Oh, my God," Julian said with disgust as he looked at Ric, who had been bound and gagged inside the trunk.
Carlos slammed the trunk closed as Julian demanded to know what Carlos had been thinking by getting them mixed up in Ric's kidnapping. Carlos explained that Johnny had threatened to kill Ric if Sonny failed to sign over the Corinthos organization, but Julian refused to have any part of Ric's murder. Carlos suspected that Julian wanted to spare Ric's life to please of Alexis, but Julian explained that Ric was important to a lot of people including Molly who had suffered enough heartache because of Julian.
Julian insisted that Molly deserved to have her father back, so Carlos promised to let Ric go but suggested that Julian allow things to play out to see if it would be necessary to defy Johnny's orders. Moments later, Julian received a call from Duke requesting a face-to-face meeting.
After Julian and Carlos left, Ric began to kick and pound on the trunk of the car in an effort to break free.
Later, Julian and Carlos arrived at Duke's request, so Duke assured Julian that the restaurant was a neutral place. Julian scoffed at the suggestion because Sonny's ex-wife owned the hotel, and Corinthos Coffee's offices were in the building. However, Julian and Carlos sat down. Duke cut to the chase by announcing that Sonny had agreed to Johnny's demands. Julian was skeptical, so he wanted proof.
Duke assured Julian that Julian and Johnny would get exactly what they deserved in exchange for Ric's freedom. Julian agreed to return Ric once Sonny's territory had been secured then left with Carlos trailing behind. Jordan greeted Julian and Carlos and complimented Carlos for looking good after his stint in Pentonville. Carlos smiled back, so Jordan asked about Julian's legal troubles.
Julian admitted that his attorneys had their work cut out for them, so he advised Jordan to keep her nose clean. Carlos confessed that he was surprised that Jordan hadn't been picked up yet, but Jordan merely smiled as she attributed it to being lucky. Jordan seized the opportunity to let Julian know that she was eager to get back in the game and asked what she had missed.
At the table, Duke explained that he intended to string Julian along until Shawn could locate and free Ric. Shawn became distracted when he noticed Jordan talking to Julian and Carlos.
12/22 Outside the courtroom, Alexis prepared Nina for her arraignment. Nina was grateful that Nathan had hired Alexis on Nina's behalf. Franco wondered about his arraignment. "There's no chance in hell I'm representing you," Alexis told him. She explained that representing him would be a conflict of interest after what he'd done to Sam. He asked where that left him. Alexis had spoken to another lawyer at her firm who'd agreed to defend him. As if on cue, Henry Sullivan introduced himself.
Henry proceeded to give Franco strict instructions for what to do during the arraignment. "Don't get in my way," he concluded harshly. Franco and Henry went into the courtroom. Nina wanted Alexis' word that Alexis wasn't trying to intentionally ruin Franco. Alexis promised that Henry was Franco's best shot at getting out of the charges.
In the courtroom, Scott told Franco how much Franco's letter had meant to Scott. Franco suggested that, if his things went badly, Scott could write back to Franco. Scott hoped that wouldn't be the case. The judge entered and began Nina's arraignment by listing her numerous charges. On behalf of Nina, Alexis pleaded that Nina was not guilty by reason of insanity. She cited all the things Nina had gone through after waking up from a twenty-year-long coma and claimed that Nina had suffered a break from reality. She asked for an evaluation at a mental health facility.
Scott responded that the district attorney's office had no objections, and the judge agreed. A distressed Nina told Franco that she wasn't crazy. He insisted that a psych ward was better than prison. Shortly after, the judge began Franco's arraignment by listing his numerous charges. Henry made the same plea for Franco as Alexis had for Nina. The assistant D.A. had no objections, but the judge did.
The judge explained that, at Franco's last trial, his bad actions had been proven to have been caused by his brain tumor, which had been removed. She believed that meant that he was responsible for every subsequent wrongdoing after the removal of the tumor. Franco ran around the courtroom, making a commotion in an effort to prove how crazy he was, but Henry demanded that Franco sit down and shut up. The judge continued that she believed the "criminal" was a flight risk, so she sentenced Franco to await trial at Pentonville.
Nina was very upset, and Franco tried to console her by telling her that she would be fine. Cops dragged out both Nina and Franco, who were screaming. Franco tried to explain to the cops that she was only scared, but they were both taken away in opposite directions. Alexis called to update Nathan on Nina's arraignment. She disclosed that Judge Walters had called her, wanting to have a meeting, and that she would keep him updated.
Maxie ran into Alexis at the courthouse. She wondered if she'd missed another meeting. Alexis revealed that Judge Walters had reversed his ruling, so Maxie could see her daughter.
Sam was surprised to answer the door to Julian. He wanted to check up on her after her "attack" and wondered if there were any leads. She mentioned that she had a theory, and he offered to "handle" the suspect. She wondered if he would just have Carlos "take care" of it.
Sam related that she'd heard that Julian was again involved in the mob, "not that you ever left." He promised that he was no longer dealing with drugs. He only wanted to be a good father and grandfather. Sam promised not to shut him out like Alexis had. However, she wanted to set ground rules: no questions or discussion about his business in front of Sam and Danny. He agreed, and she went upstairs to wake Danny up from his nap.
Just then, Julian's phone rang, and he answered it to Jordan. She wanted to know where Ric was. She lied that Anna had searched the gallery, looking for Ric and asking questions, but Jordan hadn't been able to cover since she hadn't known anything. Julian confided that Ric had been "grabbed" a few nights before. As she asked where Ric was being kept, Carlos crept into the gallery, overhearing everything.
Sam returned downstairs with Danny. They made small talk about Christmas and the family. Julian wondered how Molly was doing. Sam knew that Molly was having a hard time and needed her family. Sam related that the first Christmas after losing someone was never easy. As Danny played, Julian expressed his hope for Molly to spend the holidays with all of her family.
12/23 Julian hoped that Molly would get to spend the holidays with her whole family. Just then, Molly called out that that wouldn't happen since Julian had been responsible for her father's death. Julian opened the door to leave and insisted that Molly would feel different about things soon enough. "I doubt it," she said, and Julian left.
Alexis entered the apartment, and Molly told her that she'd "missed your boyfriend." Molly took Danny into the kitchen for some hot chocolate. Sam explained Molly's foul mood to Alexis, and Alexis wanted to tell Sam something in return. She admitted that, although he was missing, Ric was alive. She explained the situation to Sam.
Alexis concluded that she didn't want to tell Molly that Ric was alive without knowing it for sure to save Molly from grieving twice. Sam disagreed with Alexis' decision and cited her own experience with Patrick not telling her that Jason had survived his gunshot. As Sam told Alexis that Molly had a right to know, Molly overheard and wondered what they were talking about.
Alexis told Molly to sit because she had something to tell Molly about Ric. Alexis beat around the bush as there was a knock on the door. Molly told her mother to figure out the "complicated" situation while she answered the door. She sarcastically suggested the Julian was back and opened the door. "Daddy?" Molly said as she saw Ric in the door. Ric pulled his open-mouthed daughter into a tight embrace. "I'm home," he assured her.
A short while later, Julian finally returned. "You knew I'd come for you eventually," the impostor told Julian, still posing as the real Luke. Julian insisted that everything had been Faison's idea, and that his hands had been tied because of threats against his family. The impostor pointed a gun at Julian and said that he wanted revenge.
Julian informed Luke's impostor that Faison should be the man's target. He wondered why the impostor would throw his life away after just getting it back. The impostor told Julian that he wouldn't shoot Julian, because he needed him, since the impostor was "back in business." He informed a confused Julian that the real Luke was still "under lock and key," and that Faison had been a successful diversion.
Julian wondered who the impostor was and how he looked exactly like Luke. "It's not your concern," the impostor replied. Julian told the man that he would return to the business willingly, but only if there were no threats, and the two men would operate as equals. Just then, Carlos entered and updated Julian on what Jordan and Shawn had done. The impostor demanded that Julian "eliminate" Jordan.
12/24 Over at the Jerome Art Gallery, things weren't going so well for Alexis and Julian. With Ric back among the living, she tried to find out exactly what Julian's role in recent events had been. But really, it didn't matter what he said because they arrived at the same impasse as always. "I'm so sad about what we lost," Alexis lamented. But Julian reminded her that "it's not lost. You walked away." And that's exactly what she did yet again, despite it being painfully clear how badly they simply wanted to be together.
12/26 Luke's impostor arrived at the gallery to ask if Julian had "put Jordan down like a rabid dog." When Julian avoided the question, the impostor whined that Jordan's death was supposed to have been his Christmas present. Julian explained that Jordan had gone "underground," and he hadn't been able to locate her. The impostor informed Julian that some of his men had seen Jordan, and he wrote down the address of the "dump near the waterfront" that she was staying at.
12/29 Jordan wondered why Julian was in her room. "I've come to settle the score," he replied darkly. Jordan reminded him of all the things she had done for the Jeromes, but Julian blamed her for losing the leverage he'd had over Sonny. He got close enough that she was able to knee him in the stomach, and she got her gun out while he was doubled over. She tried to shoot, but the gun seemed to be empty. Julian reached into his pocket and held out the bullets from her gun.
Jordan speculated that the person who'd told Julian where she was was the same person who had given Julian the "kill order." Julian maintained that Faison was "no longer in the picture," and he insisted that he only worked for himself. He continued that he'd accepted the hard decisions he had to make in his work. He let her know that "no one is coming to save you." Jordan blurted out that he couldn't kill her because she was under the protection of Duke.
Julian accused Jordan of lying, but she wondered if he wanted to risk starting an all-out mob war. She dared him to shoot her, but he finally pulled his gun away. He told her that, had their "old boss" been there to kill Jordan, he would have shot her halfway through her speech. He promised to be seeing her around and left the room. Jordan slammed the door shut and locked it.
Julian arrived at the Metro Court and went straight up to Luke's impostor. "Is it done?" the impostor wondered. "No. There's a complication," Julian admitted.
12/30 Ric and Elizabeth ran into Julian at the Metro Court. While Julian tried to explain that he'd been coerced into doing what he'd done, Ric wasn't feeling particularly forgiving, basically calling Julian a bad mobster. Not "bad" as in "wicked", but rather "bad" as in "lame." "You shouldn't even be in the game," Ric told Julian, "because you're weak and you're sloppy. You keep me from the people that I love for six months, you frame me for a murder that I didn't commit and then you have the audacity to stand there and insist that it wasn't your
fault!"
As Ric insisted he had no intention of seeking revenge on someone who was clearly self-destructing, Julian's night got even worse when Alexis arrived on Ned's arm. The two men butted heads as Alexis urged them to not "act like kindergartners." Olivia threw herself into the budding melee and dragged Julian off for a drink so they could complain about their would-be significant others being together. Ned surprised Alexis by getting them a room at the hotel, which caused Olivia to roll her eyes before reluctantly hitting the dance floor with Julian.
In the final moment of 2014, Carly made a special toast. "As we say goodbye to 2014, my wish is that we all learn from our mistakes," she said, "and that we all find something good and precious to hold on to as we move forward. That we mend what was broken, that we heal what was hurt, and we honor those we lost by living life to the fullest. So whatever 2014 has meant to you, I hope there's a better year to come for all of us."
1/2 At Metro Court, the revelers counted down to the arrival of the New Year. At the stroke of midnight, as balloons and confetti fell from above, couples shared in a celebratory kiss.
As she glanced to her left and saw Alexis and Ned kissing, Olivia turned to Julian and remarked, "This never happened." Julian agreed, adding, "Never." The two then locked lips. When their lips parted, Olivia scowled and announce that the kiss never should have happened. Later, Alexis called Julian "childish" for trying to make her jealous by kissing Olivia.
Alexis and Ned tried to figure out why Olivia would kiss Julian. As a look of disbelief crossed her face, Alexis explained that she had thought Olivia hated Julian. Ned explained that he and Olivia seemed to have always been in different places at different times. When he'd wanted a relationship, Olivia hadn't. When Olivia had wanted a relationship, he'd had had no interest. Ned admitted that he didn't want Julian anywhere near Olivia.
Olivia went back to a hotel room with Julian, only they weren't planning anything intimate. Instead, they sat together on the bed and played a game of gin rummy. Julian lost every game then suggested that they find something else to do. Olivia declined and extended her arm to shake Julian's hand. "What's one more kiss?" Julian asked. He leaned in to kiss Olivia, and she responded by kissing him back.
Julian had thought that Jordan would have been long gone. Luke's impostor instructed Julian to "Make an example of her," but he accused Julian of "going soft." Julian accused the impostor of never lifting a finger to do anything himself, but the impostor just said that Julian had been dragging him down. Julian promised that Jordan would die for helping to rescue Ric. The impostor gave Julian a gun and instructed him to find Jordan and kill her.
Alexis walked up and sat down at Duke and Shawn's table. She wanted to thank Shawn for saving Ric and therefore giving Molly the best Christmas present she could have wanted. Alexis had heard from Lucy that Duke had "taken over the reins" of Sonny's business. She remarked that Anna probably didn't approve. Duke informed Alexis that his relationship with Anna was over. Alexis urged Duke to reconsider his choice. He responded that Julian had caused harm to his family, so he wouldn't let go of that.
Alexis related that she and Anna had something in common. She was no longer with Julian because she couldn't be with anyone "caught up in a life of crime." Ric entered and expressed his gratitude to Shawn for saving him. He also had a message for Duke to give to Sonny. Ric wanted Sonny to know that he didn't want any part of "the business" to touch him or his family. A short while later, Luke's impostor entered the Metro Court restaurant. He eyed Ric as Ric walked by with Alexis.
1/5 In bed, Ned was on top of Alexis, lamented all the time he'd wasted with Alexis. He added that he belonged with her, and he kissed her. "But I'm not really with you," Ned said. "He's with me," said Alexis, who suddenly appeared behind Ned. Olivia sat straight up in bed, shocked by her dream.
Julian was in bed with Alexis. In between kisses, he asked her how it had felt to "come to your senses and kick Ned to the curb." He promised to never let her go again. "That's not your call," she said. "It's mine," Ned said, suddenly appearing behind Alexis. Julian sat straight up in bed, shocked by his dream, and right next to
Olivia.
Meanwhile in reality, Ned and Alexis lay in bed. Alexis remarked that "it was as good as I remember."
